Nobody would say that Regulus is a touchy person. He looks awkward when people hug him, if you accidentally touch him he will be taken a back like he seems surprised someone is even physically able to touch him, it’s not that he refuses touch from closest people but everyone can tell it just not natural to him to accept touch.

Until James that is. It’s not that James touches Regulus often, it’s as if James touched him once and stayed like that forever, stuck to him somehow.

In the library for example when they are studying in one hand James has a book and in other he has Regulus’s hand, or an arm, or a thigh. On a party, by the drinks table? Behind Regulus, wrapped around him like a blanket. On a couch? Fully wrapped around Regulus like a koala on a tree.

And it’s funny to their friends, not how James is, because everyone always knew James was like that but it’s so funny to them that Regulus, a guy who was stuck in place the first time Barty hugged him, or stiffens every time Panda links her arm with him, is just so natural at being wrapped around by James.

James will be twisted around Regulus like a garland on a Christmas tree and Regulus will just be resuming his everyday activities. Debating a book with Remus? And James is just stuck to his side. On a party talking with his friends and James just fully hugging and sleeping on his shoulders.

For a guy who thinks people should act like he is a hot pan burning when they touch him and has never once looked not taken a back by a hug, he looks so natural being embraced by James, one would think divine destiny had whispered that being between his boyfriend’s arms is the only place he belongs.

During one of Damian's mandatory trips to the Kent's farm with Bruce, who wants to catch up with Clark and Lois, he catches Jon playing pretend, playing with toys like any other kid his age would and he's just... Bewildered, because that's his friend teammate, because how can he just sit there and look so content, happy, not worried about the world around him when he has firsthand seen the dangers of it?

And of course with his super hearing Jon hears the door open, turning his head to look at his friend, smiling brightly, small little doll in hand. Jon is a kid, after all, even if he fights crime and helps people, at the end of the day he's the same imaginative ten years old little boy. The little boy who loves his mom, his dad, who loves to help people, who loves to play with his friends, with his toys. That same little boy full of love.

Damian looks at him like he's grown another head, unblinking, oh so judgingly. It hurts, but Jon won't say that, he won't say that it hurt when Damian called him names and made fun of him, because he wasn't a baby, no matted what Damian called him.

"What are you doing?" Damian finally asks, hesitant.

"Playing." The younger replies, his voice coming out shyer and far smaller than intended.

"Why?"

"'Cause it's fun, D."

Damian just stares, stares like he wants to say something more, but doesn't. Damian wasn’t a normal child, he knew that much. Hell, he was a teenager now, thirteen, yet he didn’t feel it. He felt too little, too small.

“Wanna join me, Dami?” Jon musters up the courage to say, a small pink blush rising in his cheeks.

Damian doesn’t reply, shutting the door behind him and taking a seat next to Jon, legs crossed tightly. His eyebrows furrowed, as if studying the situation.

Jon had two small dolls, one girl and one boy, there were also many, many dinosaurs—Damian didn’t understand why both humans and dinosaurs would exist in the same scenario. What was this, Jurassic park?

“They’re friends,” Jon says, ‘like us’ he doesn’t add.

“How? Dinosaurs went extinct far before humans came to be.” Damian informs, his gaze scrutinising.

Jon huffs, not understanding why Damian had to be so judgmental of everything, “They can still be friends.”

“Okay, Kent, how do we play?” Damian sighs, deciding it wouldn’t hurt to indulge Jon’s little fantasies.

Damian gets sucked into the task, the two play for two hours before Bruce comes to get Damian, ready for them to leave.

“Baby it’s time to- Oh,” Bruce trails off, watching as his son suddenly shoots up from the ground, dropping the doll he had been holding.

“Father.”

“You having fun?” Bruce asks, his voice sweet as he smiled at his boy.

“Don’t patronise me!” Damian practically yells, marching out Jon’s room.

Childishness would always be a sore spot for Damian, he would always protest at the thought of being infantilised, being viewed as a child or even someone his age. Bruce could only be glad Jon was starting to get Damian to at least let his guard down for awhile.

Tattooed Steve

now with a part 2 :)

I need tattooed Steve. Like Steve starts to get tattoos after Vecna. Maybe it’s because his body is covered in scars now, and he no longer has to hold on to the idea of permanently damaging his skin, cause like it already is. Or maybe it’s cause he’s trying to love his body again, and he sees how excited Eddie gets each time he gets to show off his tattoos. And Steve, Steve wants to feel that way too. Or maybe he likes the pain. Maybe it’s all three.

But Steve Harrington, wouldn’t be Steve Harrington if he wasn’t like massively insecure about his interests and his looks. So he keeps it a secret, for months (maybe even years depending on your tastes for slow burns). And it starts to get harder and harder because he can’t avoid tatting his arms (it’s prime real estate as Eddie put it once), and wearing long sleeves all the time isn’t ideal. But he continues the charade because let’s be real, most people in his life make him feel inadequate (big word, Robin would say) about almost everything. Especially the people he cares about.

The only one who never really makes him feel that way is Eddie. Sure he teases him to high heavens, and is absolutely disgusted by his music taste but Eddie never makes him feel stupid about it or make it seem like he doesn’t get an opinion. Which is actually kinda driving Steve nuts because it’s making it harder and harder to not to fall in love with him.

So it shouldn’t be a surprise at all that Eddie is the first to see them, he made Steve comfortable and that was dangerous. But it was hot in Eddie’s apartment (the a/c busted again), and Steve chose to wear a sweatshirt during mid-July with nothing underneath. So when Steve is sweating bullets, and Eddie just lets out an amused snort to just “take the damn thing off already”. Steve doesn’t really think. He just whips it off and leans back on the couch. It’s only after ten seconds of silence, and no eddie rambling that he realizes his mistake, and oh.

He doesn’t think he’s every seen Eddie Munson speechless.

Eddie reaches out to touch Steve without thinking (they had broken touch boundaries a long time ago, and damn it makes Steve want to kiss him so bad) and starts tracing his tattoos.

There is a bewildered look on Eddie’s face mixed with something heated. “When did you start getting these?” And oh, Steve doesn’t think he’s ever heard Eddie’s voice purr like that before. It makes Steve’s insides stir, and he’s pretty sure he would tell Eddie anything right now, do anything Eddie wanted.

“Last year, right after Vecna.” Steve’s breath hitches as Eddie slides his hands down his chest.

“Didn’t know you had it in ya big boy. Which was your first?” His eyes darken with even more heat.

Steve’s at a loss for words he can’t speak. Eddie needs to get his hands off of him if he wants him to actually respond. Instead Steve’s eyes wonder down his body where Eddie is starting to peak at the ones near his hips, and oh no…anyone but that one.

When Eddie hooks his fingers in his jeans and pulls down the right side, he freezes. Because there, right below the bat bite he and Eddie share, is a tattoo of a red guitar pick with a black and gold cursive E in the center (it’s also Steve’s only colored tattoo, despite his love of color he worries that colored ink will clash with his wardrobe).

“That’s not my first.” Steve rushes out when Eddie hasn’t said anything. “I uh, got it a couple of months ago on the anniversary of spring break. Sorry if it’s weird.”

Eddie’s eyes pop up to Steve’s, and gone is the heat. Instead there is something deeper, and much softer. “You’re an idiot.”

Steve freezes, because Eddie of all people, is now telling him something he likes is stupid. But before Steve can pull away in shame, Eddie holds his hips down and puts his face close to Steve’s. “You’re an idiot. Because of course it’s weird. And of course that’s why I absolutely love it. And it’s why I absolutely love you.”

Steve doesn’t think he’s every rushed so quickly so kiss somebody so hard before. And even when they fall off the couch, and he gets his sweat all over eddie, he can’t find it in himself to regret it one bit.
