OMG I'M FINALLY FINDING A BLOG WHICH IS MY CUP OF TEA. YOU'RE AWESOMEEEEE
i have an idea but i can't write for shit, so i'll give it to my favorite tumblr writer (which is youuu)
smau where han messages the wrong number and it's some guy from like another country. and they become friends and then han comes to find out that his text pal is actually a celeb he fanboys over.
(bonus points if mn knows han as well)
OMG
A/N: Love that!! Thank you sm for requesting <3 (I can't title things for the life of me, so you can ask for a different title in the replies and I'll change it) French music makes writing so much more fun. warnings: slight swearing blue {} - han purple {} - Mn
Tumblr media Tumblr media
{Oh. How nice of this person to wish me a good practice session.
"Is he getting here anytime soon?" Minho's voice echoed through the practice room.
"I'll ask!"
When he opened his phone again to change the number, he saw a familiar figure in the random person's profile picture. Mn Ln. Finally, someone who he can rant about the Mn Ln. }
Tumblr media
{ Great. Got my hopes up for nothing }
{ Naturally, Mn wouldn't want his personal number leaked. So he lied. He was surprised at how smooth that was, but hey, it's text. He wanted to know more, though. Is that narcissistic?
He set his coffee mug down on his nightstand and looked a lot more like a contortionist as he continued to text, the risk of spilling coffee being gone now. }
Tumblr media
{ Being called the best vocalist ever was certainly not something he expected. He was great, sure, but the best? Not when Freddie Mercury has music out there. But he'll take that compliment.
He was impressed at the fan. 'Achilles, my love" was one of his more niche songs, having been written when he was only 15 when he got completely shattered after reading 'The Song of Achilles' and decided to pour his heart and soul into a song which he released years later.}
{They don't know Mn yet, but who wouldn't like him after listening to Achilles my love? The way Jisung made the members listen to Mn's music was like a little kid making their parents watch Frozen. But the members never complained, the music was really good. Would they roll their eyes when Jisung keeps sending Mn memes into the groupchat? Sure. Did they have certain parts of certain songs memorized because Jisung kept watching his edits on repeat? Oh yes. }
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media
{Mn didn't want his identity leaked. He had to think of a name quick. Chris, as in Bang Chan from Stray Kids was what came to mind. }
Tumblr media
At the Paris Fashion Week
{Jisung found a spot away from the cameras and was texting 'Chris'. After a few months of them being 'text pals', he was pretty fond of the random citizen. But despite the sheer amount of songs, pictures, and videos he's sent of Mn, 'Chris' was never as obsessed with him as Jisung was.}
{Holding a glass of champagne in his hand and dearly missing his coffee, Mn who was decked head to toe in Hermes, makes his way over to the figure he recognized as Han Jisung of Stray Kids. How he loved that band. He was listening to Han's song 'Volcano' on the way there. As he goes to talk to him, his eyes caught onto the rapper's phone screen. And by instinct, he accidentally read a few texts. Texts that were from him. He wanted to tell Jisung, but how?}
"Hi! Huge fan, Jisung.." Jisung's eyes widened as he shoved his phone into his pocket and extended his hand for a handshake. It was his first time seeing his favorite singer in real life.
"Oh my god...you..sorry, I'm just flustered all of a sudden. I'm your biggest fan, really."
"I appreciate it. We should collab someday." "Yes!!" Was that too loud? No, right?
Mn was endeared by the enthusiasm. He pulled out his phone from his pocket and unlocked it.
"Care for a selfie?"
"I'd love to.." Jisung tried keeping his voice from sounding too loud and excited as he smiled beautifully in the selfie he took with the singer. He took one on his phone as well, along with a photo of just Mn, not being able to resist the opportunity.
A/N: I'm ending so abruptly since I have really bad writer's block rn and I didn't even know how I posted this much. If you have any ideas on how Jisung finds out he's been texting Mn all this time, then let me know in the replies or send a DM.

Shit i hope u get depression then slit ur wrist open u child loving fucktard
On god a drunk driver needs to smash u in between a tree before u rape a kid, you fr need to die
Fucking nasty ass pedo, literally Diddy Jr fucking off urself u pedo cunt
this doesn't really affect me but it's kinda funny how it's not ending. anyway in light of this happening, i would like to remind you that i am a real person.
hi, my name is sayé, im an adult gen z who's currently studying in university. i was born, raised and live in london and have two parents i love a lot. i also have a lot of friends but i used to be badly self conscious when i was a child so i tried to be more confident/reach out to others and ended up making friends with lots of different types of people.
my favourite colour is purple but i also like gray (if you couldn't tell lol). i really like queen esp a night at the opera and a day at the races (my fave albums!!) and have a huge crush on freddie mercury. also im a loser who listens to bts and have their posters in my room next to freddie 😭 i can do a mean serve and play really good tennis so much that in secondary school i was banned from serving during PE. i suck at baking but my best friend is an avid baker (so is my mum). BUT i can cook a delicious minted steak. my mum scolds me for always making my food too spicy. my dad always brings me a red bull whenever he sees me and loves ruffling my hair. my mum and i watch horror movies together every week (but my dad is too scared to watch them). i buy homeless people food whenever i can. i really want a cat but i don't have time for one. my favourite holiday is nowruz but i also love christmas because the street decorations in london are so nice. like most brits, i love princess diana but hate the monarchy. i used to watch "a place in the sun" often (british telly win). speaking of, i adore 5 oclock in the morning by lily allen. it's one of my favourite songs. fun fact i adore playing rhythm games and im really good at mobile ones but suck at osu!, also i may be addicted to dave the diver 😭 i love seafood, esp smoked basa, my mum fries it for me every nowruz (since fish and herb rice is our cultural new years' dish)
here's some of my most recent conversations w different friends that aren't too personal (no hate to law students LMAO)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
i am a "normal" person. i live a "normal"* life. if you saw me face to face, you would not say this to me.
*by normal i just mean everyday, obviously norms are just social constructions but ykwim
if you saw a young adult w their friends, you wouldn't have the gall to even approach them.
if you saw me out w my sweet middle aged parents, you would think we're just a happy family.
i am a real human being.
i was part of this fandom since i was a kid. this blog is new but it does not contain anything explicit about fictional children/minors doing sexual acts. because i am not interested in that personally. it doesn't mean i will police anyone who does want to see that kind of content however because fiction is not real.
people telling me to die doesn't hurt me. but that doesn't mean others won't be hurt. my mental strength is not a pass for you to tell me or anyone to die.
i am a real person and so is everyone on this website.
anons need to remember that.

Wolfstar Microfics - Grief/Mourning
Words: 993
@wolfstarmicrofic
***
Sirius arrived at Remus’ cottage yesterday on Dumbledore's orders. It wasn’t that Remus minded, but a heads up would have been preferable to a bedraggled, but grinning Sirius just appearing at his door at 11 pm.
He made them both tea, and some toast for Sirius, and they sat on Remus’ worn sofa staring at each other for a few minutes.
“Would you like a bath?” Remus asked eventually.
“Is that your polite Moony way of telling me I smell?” Sirius laughed. “I’d love a bath, actually. Can’t remember the last time I had a bath.”
Remus nodded and took his tea into the bathroom to start running a bath. Sirius lingered in the doorway, sipping his own tea from his favourite mug. Remus had felt silly for keeping it but now, seeing it in his hands again, he was grateful to his ridiculous brain for forbidding him from throwing it away.
“Can’t believe you kept this,” Sirius said quietly. “Thank you.” Remus just smiled at him, “So. I’m assuming that Dumbledore didn’t warn you that I’d be here?”
“He didn’t,” Remus added bubbles to the bath, to Sirius’ delight. “But I’m glad you’re here. We have a lot of catching up to do.” Sirius smiled at him as he tested the temperature of the water. “I think this is done. Towels are on the rail. Do you need—”
“Would you stay in here with me?” Sirius’ gaze was fixed on the cup in his hands. “Please?”
Remus nodded, “Of course. Whatever you need.”
He looked away as Sirius shed his clothes and slid into the steaming water. He continued looking away as Sirius groaned blissfully before sitting on the floor with his back against the tub.
“You cut your hair.” Sirius said, “It’s nice.”
“Thanks. Uh, do you want some help with yours?” Remus asked, “I have conditioner. It wouldn’t be too hard to detangle, I’m sure.”
“You don’t think I should just cut it all off?” Sirius sounded surprised.
“Well, do you want to cut it all off?”
“No,” He said in a small voice, “But I convinced myself that was the only way of salvaging it. It’s pretty bad. There are no hairbrushes in Azkaban, but I think being Padfoot helped.”
“We’ll figure it out.” He turned his head slightly to smile at Sirius.
“Thanks, Moons.” Remus thought his heart might stop hearing Sirius call him ‘Moons’ again, but he schooled his features and took a couple of deep breaths. “You alright?”
“Yeah, yeah.” He rested his head on the edge of the tub. “You want me to put some music on? I have all our old records.”
“Of course you do.” Sirius chuckled, “Oh, shit. I bet I’ve missed so much. How many new Queen albums are there?”
And it was at that moment that Remus’ heart broke. Sirius, he realised, had no idea that his idol was dead. He really had missed so much. It had only been a few years since Freddie Mercury’s death, but it still devastated Remus when he thought of the end of his life or listened to The Show Must Go On. So he tried not to.
“There were a few in the 80s,” Remus said, guardedly.
“But nothing new?” Sirius swirled his hands under the hot water and smiled at the sensation. Then he paused and looked up at Remus. “Please don’t tell me they split up.”
Remus shook his head but knew his eyes were about to spill over and give him away. “Worse, sorry.”
Sirius stilled, “Tell me.”
“In the 80s, there was this illness that mostly affected queer people, queer men especially. AIDS. It’s not a death sentence anymore, but it was then. It was terrifying. So many of us died, Pads. Freddie died. A few years ago. It was awful.” He inhaled sharply, “I’m so sorry.”
He looked up at Sirius and saw his face frozen in a look of pure anguish. A single tear rolled down his right cheek as a sob choked out from his chest. “No.” He whispered, “No.”
Remus turned around, no longer caring about seeing Sirius’ body. He reached out a hand to wipe the tear away and Sirius grasped it in his own. Remus sat on the side of the bath and pulled Sirius into his chest, wet clothes be damned. Sirius sobbed as Remus held him, stroked his matted hair, and rubbed his back.
“I’m sorry,” Remus said again. “Queen and Bowie released a single together, days after you went to Azkaban*. It felt like the cruellest thing in the universe on top of everything else. There’s a lot you haven’t heard. We can listen when you’re ready. I didn’t even think about…”
They stayed like that until the bath water was cold, Sirius bordering on catatonic, nodding as Remus told him about songs and albums that he’d love. Sirius wondered what the point was. Everyone was dead or dying, Voldemort was back, and he had no way of protecting Harry, or Remus. He closed his eyes as Remus gently washed his hair with warm water and did his best to detangle the knots. He stared vacantly at the ceiling of Remus’ bedroom for hours and listened to Remus breathe.
After a few hours, he got up and headed for the record player. He rifled through Remus’ records until one caught his eye, with cartoon versions of the band on the front, ‘A Kind of Magic’. He scanned the tracklist and found himself drawn to side 2. He slipped it onto the turntable, dropping the needle onto the vinyl, a very familiar crackle that made him smile tentatively as he turned the volume down.
As soon as the vocals started There’s no time for us, There's no place for us, Sirius found himself crying again. Within seconds Remus’ arms were around him and he held on tight. He wasn’t sure which of them started swaying gently first.
Who waits forever anyway?

It’ll only let me Ask from my main and not my Queen side-blog but whatevs, ANYWAY y’know, I’d always joked that Roger may as well be the president of the Freddie Mercury fan club but after skimming your blog….it’s definitely Brian lol
I knew they were super close—obviously—but apparently I’ve never fully processed just how insane their dynamic was/is until now. Anywho, love those guys
Yeah, sorry, Roger... Brian has you beat there ;)
I'm kidding, obviously. It's not a competition, but it is a fact that Brian expresses his emotions about Freddie more openly and very differently from Roger. That has always been clear to me. They talk about him differently. Remember him differently.
Just consider the Days of Our Lives documentary (paraphrasing follows)
Roger: "I remember when Freddie got so drunk that he put his tights on back to front. We had to hold him upside down to help him. It was so funny. We were afraid he would collapse during the concert, but he was a tough guy."
Brian: "I remember Freddie was very considerate [while he was ill in '74]. He'd come by and reassure me that they'd wait for me to get better. He could be kind of abrasive, but there was a lot of caring in that man. He was incredibly loyal to me."
This shows their different personalities, too, I think. Roger prefers to reminisce about fun times with his friend. He remembers Freddie as someone who made him laugh and showed his strength on stage, but he very rarely lets us in on how Freddie made him feel outside of that.
Brian, on the other hand... Brian can't hold it back. He openly and frequently pours his heart out about how Freddie made him feel, and all we can do is listen to it. There are definitely people in this fandom who try to Look Away from Brian's grief as much as possible. Sometimes, I honestly don't blame them. It's a lot once you start paying attention.

Where has Chappell Roan been my whole life??
Because it's not just one thing. She's made progress in so many areas, just by not taking other people's shit with her music and her media presence. For example, she:
directly addressed stalker behavior with celebrities - It's amazing to see a woman standing up for herself and addressing the fact that even if you recognize someone, you can't automatically expect them to do whatever you want them to. Harassment is still harassment, even if the person is famous. And I love that she was willing to stand up for herself and others who have and likely will be in the same position.
addressed how it feels to not fit in with the people around you (pink pony club) - I know that the song is specifically about how hard it is to be queer in a place where it isn't widely accepted, but I feel like it can apply to other areas too, because really the whole point is about finding a place where you belong and can be accepted, and it's amazing, and I feel like acceptance should be something that everyone gets to feel.
all around been a feminine icon - okay this has several points because she has done a lot, but overall she doesn't let people treat her poorly just for being a woman.
Her outfits?? They are pretty unconventional at times, but they are always hers. She doesn't dress up for anyone but herself, and she always presents herself the way that she wants to be seen, not how she is expected to, and also she has public appearances with everything from no makeup to full face, and I love it because women don't always feel like they can be without makeup, and seeing someone so iconic being comfortable with herself can be very motivating for people who may not have as much self confidence.
Normalizing sexuality for both women and queer people - in a lot of media and music men talk about how they want to touch a woman, and sometimes even rape is brought up as if it's something that is okay to do. And despite the fact that they talk about women in degrading ways, the same people shame women for being sexually active. But in Chappell Roan's music, she talks about sex in a respectful consensual way, and her music has quickly become some of the first music about queer sex that is widely popular.
Been an icon for queer people in general, one of the first popularized queer people that others cannot deny is queer -because despite everything about him, people still don't think Freddie Mercury was bi??? and apparently some people haven't heard of David Bowie?? I could keep going but this is already one of the longest posts I've made so far so I'll stop here. And while she's definitely not the first, she's definitely one of the most vocal queer artists.
To be honest I first started listening to her because the girl I like really likes her, but honestly I would be lying if I said I wasn't obsessed at this point. And while there is absolutely more that she has done, my hand hurts and I don't feel like typing anymore. If anyone has anything else they would like to add please feel free!
But yeah basically I love Chappell Roan

To Boddah Speaking from the tongue of an experienced simpleton who obviously would rather be an emasculated, infantile complain-ee.
This note should be pretty easy to understand. All the warnings from the punk rock 101 courses over the years, since my first introduction to the, shall we say, ethics involved with independence and the embracement of your community has proven to be very true.
I haven't felt the excitement of listening to as well as creating music along with reading and writing for too many years now. I feel guity beyond words about these things. For example when we're back stage and the lights go out and the manic roar of the crowds begins., it doesn't affect me the way in which it did for Freddie Mercury, who seemed to love, relish in the the love and adoration from the crowd which is something I totally admire and envy.
The fact is, I can't fool you, any one of you. It simply isn't fair to you or me. The worst crime I can think of would be to rip people off by faking it and pretending as if I'm having 100% fun. Sometimes I feel as if I should have a punch-in time clock before I walk out on stage.
I've tried everything within my power to appreciate it (and I do,God, believe me I do, but it's not enough). I appreciate the fact that I and we have affected and entertained a lot of people. It must be one of those narcissists who only appreciate things when they're gone. I'm too sensitive. I need to be slightly numb in order to regain the enthusiasms I once had as a child.
On our last 3 tours, I've had a much better appreciation for all the people I've known personally, and as fans of our music, but I still can't get over the frustration, the guilt and empathy I have for everyone. There's good in all of us and I think I simply love people too much, so much that it makes me feel too fucking sad.
The sad little, sensitive, unappreciative, Pisces, Jesus man. Why don't you just enjoy it? I don't know! I have a goddess of a wife who sweats ambition and empathy and a daughter who reminds me too much of what i used to be, full of love and joy, kissing every person she meets because everyone is good and will do her no harm. And that terrifies me to the point to where I can barely function.
I can't stand the thought of Frances becoming the miserable, self-destructive, death rocker that I've become. I have it good, very good, and I'm grateful, but since the age of seven, I've become hateful towards all humans in general. Only because it seems so easy for people to get along that have empathy. Only because I love and feel sorry for people too much I guess.
Thank you all from the pit of my burning, nauseous stomach for your letters and concern during the past years. I'm too much of an erratic, moody baby! I don't have the passion anymore, and so remember, it's better to burn out than to fade away. Peace, love, empathy.
Kurt Cobain Frances and Courtney, I'll be at your alter. Please keep going Courtney, for Frances. For her life, which will be so much happier without me. I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU!

On November 24, 1991, Freddie Mercury passed away.
The great and unique singer, songwriter and frontman of "Queen", died of extensive pneumonia due to AIDS, at the age of 45. It is also worth recalling that he bequeathed to his colleagues to find a new singer and continue their creative activities.

Freddie Mercury, born Farrukh Bulsara, was born on September 5, 1946 in Stone Town, Zanzibar. Farrukh's parents raised him in accordance with Persian culture. In 1954, his parents enrolled their son in St. Peter's School in Panchgani. In the early years of his studies, Farrukh's classmates came up with the idea of calling him Freddy. Freddie studied well, showing great interest in music and creativity, he drew well, sang in the school choir and participated in school productions. The headmaster drew attention to his abilities. For a fee, he offered to organize piano courses for Freddie. The parents agreed. Freddie got the opportunity to develop his rare talent. At the age of 12, Freddie became a member of the first band in his life, which he also organized - "Restless". The band performed at school parties, dances, and various events. Freddie participated in his band as a pianist. Soon the family moved to England, where Freddie enrolled in a polytechnic college. In the summer of 1969, he graduated with a well-deserved diploma and decided to seriously study music. One of his first English bands was the IBEX trio. At the end of 1969, the band broke up
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In April 1970, his old friend Staffell decided to leave the SMILE band, to which Freddie had repeatedly invited him. Freddie took the vacant place of the vocalist. He changed the band's name to QUEEN and his last name to Mercury. This is how the legendary story of the "Queen" began, which successfully performed for many years. Since 1986, rumors began to appear that Freddie Mercury had AIDS. However, until the last days of his life, the musician denied all rumors about his health. Only close people knew about his terrible diagnosis. On November 23, 1991, Freddie made an official statement that he had AIDS. The next day, November 24, at about seven o'clock in the evening, Freddie Mercury died at his home in London

"I want to be remembered after my death as a musician who was worth something and achieved something. I do not know how I will be remembered. I didn't think about it — I died and died. No, I haven't thought about it. I really don't wonder like: "My God! When I die, will people remember me?" It's their business. When I die, who's going to care? Certainly not me."

Group Interviews - Circus Magazine
Queen Deserve Rock's Royal Crown?
by Rosy Horide
Freddie Mercury and Brian May Hawk their 'News Of The World'
Freddie Mercury is no longer the leader of Queen. Has he been fired, you ask, or is he off to pursue a solo career? No it's simply, with the advent of News Of The World LP (Asylum) the personality of the music and of Brian May, drummer Roger Taylor and bassist John Deacon have come across more strongly than ever before.
Those who have seen them on the recent US tour notice more than ever before that they're a group comprised of four separate identities, not just a lead singer and background band. Freddie Mercury is delighted to hear it.
'I've never considered myself the leader anyway,' says irrepressible Freddie. 'The most important person, perhaps.' And guitarist May agrees.
'Our separate identities do come to the fore on this album, on which every cut is completely different from the one before it and there's no concept at all. Apart from each having contributed two tracks to the album, Roger and John have been much more involved in the playing. Roger plays rhythm guitar on some of his cuts ('Sheer Heart Attack' and 'Fight From The Inside') which makes sense, because he had a better idea of how he wanted it to go. John plays acoustic guitar on one of his as well ('Who Needs You'). I played maracas on it. While we may not do it that way on stage, in the studio that makes more sense.'
Brian also does a lot more singing of his own songs on News, but he's content to let Freddie do the singing on stage.
'He's a natural performer,' asserts Brian. 'He acts on stage as if he was born doing it. That's great for us. We wouldn't want it any other way.'
As May and Mercury emphasize, it's not just musically that shifts occur in the group.
'John keeps a very close eye on our business affairs,' says Freddie. 'He knows everything that's going on and shouldn't be going on. If God forsakes us now the rest of the group won't do anything unless John says it's all right.
'Roger is very important to us in a different way. He's always been an out-and-out rock & roll fan with no time to stop and think about music and that's very good for us. Instinct. He's also the one who is most aware of facets in music, and that's essential in the band. If you listen to 'Sheer Heart Attack' on the new album you'll see what we mean. It sounds like a punk, or 'new wave' song, but it was written at the same time of the Sheer Heart Attack LP. He played it to us then but it wasn't quite finished and he didn't have time to complete it before we started recording. That was three years ago and now. . .almost all these records you hear are like that period.' And Roger now? 'He was into punk for a long time, but he's tired of it.' More about the album later.
But if you still don't believe no crown of leadership rests on the mercurial head of Freddie, it's worth repeating his comment about the composition of the group.
'If anyone left Queen, anyone of the four, that would be the end of Queen. We are four equal, interwoven parts. And the others just couldn't function the same without each quarter.'
Queen have just finished a special tour of the states. Not the longest they've ever undertaken, by any means, but special nevertheless.
'It was the first tour we've ever done without the support band,' Freddie explained. 'There was so much going on on stage that I doubt there would have been room for another band anyway. We have so much material we want to play for people now that it would have been far too long a concert. It's hard enough anyway to know what to leave out: we'd like to play all the new material, but there are some things we just would not dare leave out or I think the fans would lynch us.'
It was the sort of tour most rock bands dream of doing. Brian agrees: 'We've managed to get some of the most sought after halls there are, even though the tour was short. Most of them are places we've played before. In some cities we had to settle for second, alternative choice auditoriums - the thing was set up so fast. It was also a very compressed tour - 35 dates in six weeks. We did very large halls because we wanted to do a fuller show and our rig was about twice as big as ever we used before.
'It provided a complete stage environment, with an extension stage, three trailers and enormous lighting gimmick not just for New York and Los Angeles. That's why we booked big halls, so that we could give everybody the complete show. We first used our crown centerpiece at London's Earl's Court concert over the Jubilee. At the time, we didn't envisage being able to take the crown on tour with us, but we managed to have it demounted into a portable object. And so we had it for all the gigs. It made the most ambitious backdrop we've ever attempted, but it was worth it. The fans seemed to enjoy it and they are what matter.'
That last remark of Brian's is typical of the group's attitude towards their fans, for they have one of the closest rapports with the fans of any in the business. The same cannot be said for their relationship to the music press, however, especially in Britain. In fact, many people thought the chart-popping single 'We Are The Champions,' was Queen's way of telling the press in no uncertain terms that they've made it without them. Others thought it an arrogant statement about their rock supremacy. But how do they feel? First Freddie, who wrote the song:
'Certainly it's a relationship that could be, but I was thinking about football when I wrote it. I wanted a participation song, something that the fans could latch on to. It was aimed at the masses; I thought we'd see how they took it. It worked a treat. When we performed it at a private concert in London, the fans actually broke into a football chant between numbers. Of course, I've given it more theatrical subtlety than an ordinary football chant. You know me.
'I certainly wasn't thinking about the press when I wrote it. I never think about the British music press these days. It was really meant to be offered the musicians the same as the fans.
'I suppose it could also be construed as my version of 'I Did It My Way.' We have made it, and it certainly wasn't easy. No bed of roses as the song says. And it's still not easy.'
Brian concurs, 'You know, songs aren't always about what the words say. Messages in songs can appear different. I always see that as the difference between prose and poetry. Prose can mean exactly what it says, while poetry can mean the opposite. That goes for this song. Freddie's stuff is often tongue-in-cheek anyway, as you know. This song is very theatrical. Freddie is very close to his art. You could say, he's married to his music, whether it's 'I Did It My Way' or his 'There's No Business Like Show Business.' I must say, when he first played it for us in the studio we all fell on the floor with laughter. So many people in the press hate us because we've side-stepped them and got where we have without them.
'But there's no way the song says anything against our audiences. When the song says 'we,' it means 'us and the fans.' When we did that special concert, the fans were wonderful. They understood it so well. I know it sounds corny, but it brought tears to our eyes.'
Freddie and Brian are unanimous on that: the spontaneous responses to 'We Are The Champions' really move them. But that is the kind of general response News Of The World has received because, as Brian may says, 'It's a spontaneous album. I think we've managed to cut through to the spontaneity lacking in our other albums. I have no apologies to make for any of our previous albums. We're proud of them and wouldn't have let them out if we weren't. But I now feel some may have been over-produced, so we wanted to go with a more spontaneous rock & roll based album. It was nice to do something that didn't need such intensity. For example, with 'Sleeping On The Sidewalk' we did it in one take because it just seemed right the first time. We like to think of the album as a window on an unguarded moment, not a set piece. Each cut seems to do that, from the participation songs to Freddie's mood pieces. Even his numbers on the album are different, from his heavy 'Get Down, Make Love' to 'My Melancholy Blues,' which is just what it says.'
Brian admits that his own material is different too. But he still tries to keep his private life separate and out of his songs as much as possible.
'If you don't keep something back, it can be very bad for you.'
But for the band both the album and the tour are in the past and they have to look at the future. They got back to England on Christmas Eve.
'My mother would have killed me if I wasn't home for Christmas. I haven't missed one yet,' says Freddie. And the others felt the same.
It's time for some stock-taking. We've all become businessmen,' admits Freddie, 'even though it's against our better judgment. It's something that always happens if you get successful. Being a musician is not just cutting discs, unfortunately. I wish it was. We've all got companies now, some connected to music, others not. I'm producing Peter Straker, I have my car company. . . and lots of other fingers in other pies. We must take some time off to get things in perspective, or things will start to go wrong.
'Then there's been talk of doing a big world tour - Britain, South America, Japan, and of course the States as well as lots of other places. But that won't be until later in the year.'
So, American fans will have a chance to see Queen in 1978.
'You must tell them not to be too greedy, thought,' warns Freddie. They've already seen more of us than any other country.'
And what about a message for the American fans, Freddie?
'They know we love them. Apart from that, oh, say something outrageous for me.'

do you have any headcanons for the Belcher family?
SORRY IT TOOK ME LIKE 50 YEARS TO ANSWER THIS writers block or whatever. I will give u a few each because i like thinking about these characters :)
bob
he is a big fan of 70s and 80s dad rock music and some queer culture music from that era like freddie mercury and cyndi lauper (that he listened to a decent amount growing up next to a gay bar). when the kids were younger he would sing to them in their highchair etc while he was cooking dinner and dance with them, louise and tina were not huge fans of his music however lol louise ends up enjoying more kpop/alt/punk rock music and tina likes upbeat pop music. gene definitely shares his dads music taste tho!! they go to concerts together when gene is a little older
pete (regular at big bob's diner and owner of the gay bar next door) was bob's first gay crush as a kid. kinda stressful bcuz he was coming of age Directly during the aids crisis and having an older queer male figure in his life really helped. he also had a weird gay situationship with one of his nerdy guy friends from high school and they did some..... experimenting together 👀
he has movie nights w/ each of his kids!! he usually watches hawk and chick movies with louise, western movies with gene (or really stupid high school comedy movies like pitch perfect. at gene's request) and basically Whatever romantic comedy or horsegirl movie of the week that tina chooses. he honestly loves all of them bcuz they remind him of his kids personalities and interests <3 these happen usually three to four times a month and he'll let the kids stay up later (until 10pm or 11pm) to watch with him, but they usually fall asleep on his lap before the end of the movie
he let tina and gene give him makeovers when they were younger with mom's old makeup etc. he mostly did it for their sake but he really did enjoy wearing the nail polish, I think he'd look good in black nail polish if he didnt have to wash his hands 500 times a day working in the restaurant. he's very into the alt rock and roll style and aesthetic in theory if not in actual presentation
in his heart he's a punkrocker in reality he is a middle aged dad wearing old tshirts stained with ketchup
linda
when louise was younger (before she could shower/bathe herself) linda was the ONLY person she'd ever let wash or brush her hair when her ears weren't on. linda still gives louise her (very very) occasional haircuts so that her hair doesn't become TOO unmanageable, and she brushes louise hair sometimes just for fun :) louise is the one she always sings the harry truman song to because louise thought it was funny when she was younger
linda's dad taught her how to ride a bike when she was a kid but by the time that gayle was old enough to learn their dad wasn't really. interested in doing that stuff anymore lol. so linda taught gayle how to ride her bike!!! it didn't go super well and there were lots of bruises and tears involved over a four day period, but it's some of gayle and linda's happiest memories together. linda stepped in a lot for gayle when their parents wouldn't put in the effort
linda was actually involved in A LOT of sports when she was growing up!! she was on the school basketball team and did some soccer and track extracurriculars. she was a bit of a jock and she still enjoys playing sports on the rare occasion she gets the chance w/ one of her kids (but she is sliiightly too compeitive). louise is the only belcher kid who is any good at athletic stuff but she isn't super into team sports. she'll play occasionally with linda at the park though. she's also the only belcher family member who can handle linda's competitive spirit, including bob
tina:
started wearing glasses at like five months old bcuz she's farsighted and genuinely couldnt see ANYTHING lol. there exist very few pictures or videos of her as a baby before she got glasses (her infancy was also somewhat chaotic due to the newly opened restaurant and everything so not a lot of time for photos) when gene and louise find a few in an old photo album its GENUINELY like they found a previously lost artifact from ancient egpyt. they've seen tina without her glasses obvs but this was tina BEFORE her glasses!!!! wow!!!
she enjoys cooking w/ bob even though she isn't a particularly good cook. she's anxious around stoves and other appliances which is most of the problem but she also doesn't have a natural talent for it 😭. she helps bob cook dinner sometimes and when she was younger she helped with cooking a special mother's day breakfast for linda (gene and louise were too little to help out)
tina loves both her parents equally but she prefers spending time w/ bob more than linda bcuz he matches her energy level better. they're both anxious kinda quiet and introverted people (tina obviously got most of her personality from bob) so she just likes hanging out with him and going on errands together. tina has a special place in bob's heart too as his oldest child and his firstborn, so they really do love spending the day together whenever possible
gene
when tina is in high school and gene and louise are still attending wagstaff, gene will take his allowance and take louise out to get ice cream after school at least once a week bcuz there isn't anyone around to tell them not to. they both enjoy the time they spend together <3 louise really misses this ritual when gene goes off to high school but they still do go out for ice cream occasionally. and it's only a few dollars but gene likes feeling like he's providing for louise in some way as a Big Brother and spoiling her (even if she pays for their ice cream days maybe half the time)
gene's seperation anxiety is actually A LOT worse when he's without his sisters than when he's without his parents. he can deal w/ a few nights without his parents there but he genuinely does not like being seperated from his sisters for more than a few hours. it's really hard for him & he worries about them so much. luckily there's rarely any reason for them to be apart, and he's a middle child so he'll always be going to the same school as one of them
he thinks bob gives the best hugs out of everyone in the family :) 2nd place goes to tina. sorry linda
louise
she likes drawing!! she wouldnt call herself an artist and she's not exactly trying to be good at art anyway, but she has her desk w/ her crayons and paper and sometimes she scribbles for fun or to express her feelings. she does this on her schoolwork too which makes ms labonz angry but she will admit louise is pretty funny and good at cartoons
she'll be a HUGE anime and kpop fan when she's older but not like stan twitter kpop fans. she'll unironically take pride in her favorite manga being an underrated cult classic from the 80s underground japan scene or whatever. nobody else in her family 100% gets it but tina will watch naturo and one piece with her even though she finds them a little bit boring and hard to follow. tina likes the anime boys
when she's bored in class she draws tattoos on herself in pen/sharpie and when other kids see what she's doing they want her to draw on their arms too. she charges a quarter for each person she tattoos, and she had a decent business going until the teachers shut it down and warned her about ink posioning. SIGH. she'll probably get real tattoos when she turns 18

Spoilers, as always, below the cut
So the alchemy stuff in the ARG was apparently Massively significant, huh?
First things first: All this 'spiritual transference' shit seems like multiverse stuff - and of course Celia is interested in it if it'll explain why she keeps waking up in weird places. What's interesting is that Sam recognised it from the Institute. I think everyone suggesting that the Institute is figuring out how to hop between universes is bang on the money.
Now. The INCIDENT. HOLY SHIT! This has given us major intel about the Protocol.
So. The Protocol appears to have been originated by the Royal Society as a way to control blasphemous science, such as alchemy which was illegal in Britain at the time of the statement. What's really interesting, though, is that apparently Newton was investigating the Arbor Philosophorum Perfecta. This is apparently a precursor to the Philosopher's stone called Diana's Tree, made of crystalline silver. Which befits the description. But, most importantly:
According to wikipedia, all of Newton's research on this - was DESTROYED IN A FIRE. (caused by his dog, apparently, irl. and indeed, in this episode, Hooke's proof of Newton's blasphemy IS THE DOG.) Sound familiar, anyone? It should. This seems to imply that the Protocol, whatever it is, is the same thing that destroyed the institute. and I think I know why:
THEY GOT TOO CLOSE TO FIGURING OUT UNIVERSE TRAVEL.
And the OIAR shut it down. The Royal Society was a huge part of the establishment historically so it makes sense that the OIAR may now be linked to them.
ALSO Sam's onto it! He's right. The computers are listening. Sidebar: Now I really need to look over all the incidents: specifically, WHO heard them, which may be able to tell us WHY they heard them. It is no coincidence that Sam gets an incident about alchemy and the Protocol the moment he and Celia discuss the field.
And also, this may tell us why Alice is getting the JMJ errors - her refusal to engage or learn further. This is awfully reminiscent of S3 of Archives, though, when Elias was feeding Jon statements to lead him toward becoming marked by the fears. I think Alice knows this, or at least suspects, so is trying to prevent Sam from going any further into his case and being led down some horrible path by the computer. Is this from experience? We know she's seen some shit.
We now also know the Bouchards are powerful, corroborating what Lady Mowbray told us by mentioning them. And Elias did seem to come from wealth. Hmmmm. More lore to come I suspect.
Finally: Colin's alive! And listen to what he says. 'He.' Is He the computer system? He also mentions 'it all balances' - not too much mercury or the world ends, not too much sulfur or we all go mad. (direct quote, thank you Transcript)
In alchemy, mercury is believed to shift between life and death. Sulfur represents the soul, evaporation, expansion and dissolution.
Is 'he' Freddie, I wonder? Lots of 'seeing'. And the alchemy is linked to the Institute... it's all right there, I know it is, I'm just still unsure if Chester, Norris, and Augustus are from Archives or not. Sigh.
In short, I think I need to get into alchemy. Anyone got any alchemy book recommendations?
Next week: Last episode before another hiatus, possibly a new external, and hopefully some major lore.

Share pdude hcs??? 😈
ok soooo. idk if you mean one pdude in particular sooo imma do the basic ones! (p1,p2,p3,p4)
good lord it has been forever since ive been able to write down my hcs for these sillies, and i have a whole bunch so i'll put it under le cut :)
Tumblr media
p1
-well versed in ASL, uses it in overwhelming situations
-sunglasses double as prescription lenses (i give this hc to basically all of the other dudes, but i think p1 would need glasses more than any of them)
-probably the smartest of the other dudes. essentially a polymath. if you ask him a question about almost anything, he'd probably give you a reasonable answer
-surprisingly good at drawing. does better with drawing portraits rather than full body. has a very scratchy and rough looking art style
-(technically canon bcuz of like, the war journal) writes in a journal (essentially a diary, but he'd rather die than call it that), mainly writes about his emotions and internal struggles, but sometimes writes about the other dudes and his experiences with them
-cannot go to sleep in silence. he's gotta have music on or some sort of background noise or else his mind starts to wander
p2
-physically can't stay in one place without moving. whether it be rocking in place, tapping his foot, or shifting his weight from one foot to the other, he's always making some sort of movement.
-actually pretty friendly to those around him. he just has a pretty short temper, getting easily agitated by things (or people) around him
-besides p1, probably the skinniest of all the dudes. mans is all bones compared to say p4 or p3
-champ is his emotional support animal. he's been through a lot, and champ is basically his only refresher from the hell he lives in
-strangely flexible...can slip through fairly small cracks and corners easily
-has a LOT of vocal stims. this mf meows whenever he sees a cat. he makes random noises to himself. he repeats things that he hears others say
p3
-got a surprisingly good amount of muscle on him. goes to the gym pretty often. definitely flexes whenever he gets the chance
-slight southern accent. very noticeable when he gets angry or when he talks fast. if you point it out to him, he'd probably get really embarrassed
-average r&b enjoyer. out of the blue, p1 once asked who luther vandross was, to which p3 gave an almost hour long lecture about the importance of r&b and why it's one of the best genres to date, why old r&b is miles better than new r&b, quizzing p1 on different artists, etc
-also an unironic country music enjoyer. he begs and pleads the other dudes to let him play just a little bit of johnny cash whenever he's offered the aux cord. maybe a bit of dolly parton. hell, probably some shania twain, if he's feeling bold.
-a fairly good singer. he's no freddie mercury, but to say he's horrible would be an overstatement. knows what songs are in his range, and which ones aren't. isn't really one to sing out loud in front of a lot of people, though. (one time, he sang to p1 in an attempt to calm him down during one of his moments. it worked, surprisingly :0)
p4
-one of the happiest dudes. at this point in his life, he's not nearly as violent as the others (he still has his moments, of course, but he's not one to just spontaneously go ham) and just sorta accepts things as they are
-a genre GOD. this man listens to pretty much everything. his favorite genres are funk, nu-metal (or metal in general), pop, and r&b (he and p3 bond over their fav artists)
-while champ is basically an emotional support animal to p2, to p4, champ is more of a service dog. he's getting older, which means he isn't able to do things as easily as he used to, so champ is there to fetch things for him and in general, just help him with daily tasks
-very confident with who he is. he isn't embarrassed by the things he does. he takes pride in being different.
-doesn't give himself labels when it comes to sexuality or gender. it's not that he's against it, he just prefers the idea of being unlabeled. (though, i personally hc him as being pansexual and transmasc. you go grandpa.)
-DAD BOD. a fair bita muscle, though. he's pretty strong compared to the other dudes.
-has an array of random talents. one day he'll just start juggling randomly and be like "oh, this? yeah, i picked it up a few years ago. nothing to write home about, to be honest."
--
aaaaand that's all! sorry if it's a lot, i just rlly have a lot to say abt these goobers (and even more to say abt the dudes i didn't include!)

Get to know your moots
Thanks for the tag @virtie333 💕
What's the origin of your blog title? Well, I created this blog for my oscar isaac hyper fixation so it's pretty self explanatory really 🤭
OTP(s) + Shipname: I don't think I really have one tbh. I'll have to think about it. (Sorry for the boring answer)
Favourite colour: I love purple 💜
Favourite game: ok so my favourite game is probably something like animal crossing or Pokémon but my favourite board game is probably cluedo or trivial pursuit (I love anything that involves trivia)
Song stuck in your head: The song that is stuck in my head right now is Ya Hey by Vampire Weekend
Weirdest habit/trait? Dude, how long have you got? I have ocd & I'm autistic. "Weird habits" are my forte. One I do a lot is I rock back & forth.
Hobbies: I love reading (books not just fics lol I also read many at a time. I'm currently reading four at the minute) listening to music, cooking, playing board games.
If you work, what's your profession? Retail. I hate it. It's literally everything I hate combined into a job.
If you could have any job you wish, what would it be? I guess another way of phrasing this would be my "dream job" and I would definitely say that it would have to be something with animals.
Something you're good at: man, with my self esteem issues this is like the toughest question ever. Because I don't feel like I'm good at anything really. I'm good at existing I guess.
Something you're bad at: so many things.
Something you love: I love my family, my friends, animals, nature, the ocean (I wish I could live in there) forests (anywhere with lots of trees)
Something you could talk about for hours off the cuff: Again, I'm autistic so this is like something I do often with loved ones (and wreck their head) I have so many hyper fixations that if I am comfortable with someone, will just yap and yap about. Anything oscar related is definitely one, another is animals, another one is trains (stereotypical I know) there's just so many.
Something you hate: I really hate it when people treat me like I'm an idiot or like I'm a child (or happens more than you'd think)
Something you collect: I collect perfumes & scents & funko pops.
Something you forget: a lot because my memory is dogshit.
What's your love language? See my neurodivergent brain needs specificity in this question because are you talking about how I show love? or how do I need love to be shown to me?
Favourite movie/show: fuck this is a difficult one because I love so many. I'll pick one just for this but know that I love so many more. For movie imma go Forrest Gump for show imma say breaking bad.
Favourite food: is probably pasta.
Favourite animal: literally can't choose I love them all. 💕
What were you like as a child? Really quiet, really anxious. Wouldn't even know I was there.
Favourite subject at school? English was always a favourite, so was biology, so was history.
Least favourite subject: maths.
What's your best character trait? That if I like & trust you, I'll literally do anything to help you if you need it.
What's your worst character trait? I often self isolate, especially if I need help.
If you could change any detail of your day right now what would it be? That it didn't storm so we didn't have to wait a day and a half for the electricity to come back on.
If you could travel in time who would you like to meet? Freddie Mercury.
Recommend one of your favourite fanfics (spread the love!): oh wow, there's just so many that I love, so many talented people but the first one that comes to mind is one called you're safe with me by @alwaysmicado I know no everyone is into the sub! Steven grant stuff but it is literally one of my all time favourites & I always go back to it every now &then. 💗
So I'm gonna tag @devilrebirth @mandytrekkie @for-a-longlongtime @louboupp
(only if you want to, there absolutely no pressure 😊)
And whoever else wants to 😊

Hello Imp, I need to know what is your correct opinion about Sirius and music. Would he like Queen? If so, what are his fave songs? Did he have a chance to fuck Freddie Mercury? Does he know how to play some instrument? Is he one of those dads who will never update their music taste aftrt turning 25 OR does he get really into Harry's fave bands???? Maybe they even go to some concert together when Harry is a teenager (any suggestions about the artist/band?)
Oh, god, this feels like a trap, because I know you don't like Queen.
First of all, no, he did not fuck Freddie Mercury. That would be Crowley, and they both had a great time. Crowley will always remember his summer with Freddie fondly.
I'll be honest, dear Bat: I don't know enough about music to actually answer this question. Because I really don't listen to it, unless it's Queen or a handful of musicals. Music just isn't something I'm into, which I know is wild to say as someone who has played an instrument for like 20 years lol.
I'm going to go against the grain here and say that, no, Sirius wasn't really into Muggle music the way fandom loves to portray! I think he wasn't really into Muggle things at all. Did he dabble because it annoyed the hell out of his parents? Absolutely. Also, he did think the motorbike was super cool, but even then he gave it a lot of magical amendments. So he's really only interested in Muggle things that he can add magical modifications to.
As far as instruments go, he plays the piano because it was one of the things he was forced to learn growing up in a rich pureblood household.
However, all that being said, I think that once he gets custody of Harry, he gets a crash course in Muggle things because he wants Harry to experience both parts of his heritage. He introduces Harry to a lot of parts of the wizarding world he didn't know about, as well as wizarding and pureblood culture, but he also makes an effort to experience Muggle things with Harry as well. Harry doesn't know much about Muggle pop culture, tbh! The Dursleys kept him pretty sheltered. He learns about Muggle movies and music along with Sirius.
So, yes, they absolutely do go to concerts together. What concerts? You'll have to ask someone who doesn't have to Google "rock bands touring 1990s." 😂

Happy Birthday Liza 🎉
Liza Minnelli was born on March 12, 1946, Beverly Boulevard, Los Angeles.
👉 February 18th, 1990 - Queen Story!
Freddie Mercury's final public appearance on stage when he joined the rest of Queen in London to collect the Brit Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music.
All the band members attended, Brian May giving a short speech.
In this photo: Huge party took place after at Groucho Club in Soho for Queen's 20th Anniversary Party
🔸CIRCUS: What’s your favorite form of entertainment?
MERCURY: Listening to Jimi Hendrix; Liza Minnelli; going to art galleries. I like most of the Victorian artists. I like lot of detail work, water colors, that sort of thing. And popular stuff like Dali.
CIRCUS: Would you like to date Liza Minnelli?
MERCURY: Oh, no. I would like to talk to her, yes.
CIRCUS: What do you think she would tell you?
MERCURY: I would just like to meet her after a performance and take it from there. I don’t know what she would say to me, or what I would say to her.
CIRCUS: I’d like to know what you think about these people: Jimi Hendrix, Liza Minnelli, Led Zeppelin…
MERCURY: Jimi Hendrix is very important. He’s my idol. He sort of epitomizes, from his presentation onstage, the whole works of a rock star. There’s no way you can compare him. You either have the magic or you don’t. There’s no way you can work up to it. There’s nobody who can take his place. Liza, in terms of sheer talent, just oozes with it. She has sheer energy and stamina, which she gets across the stage, and the way she delivers herself to the public is a good influence. There is a lot to learn from her. Led Zeppelin is the greatest. Robert Plant is one of the most original vocalists of our time. As a rock band they deserve the kind of success they’re getting
