Oh no…
… I thought about the horrible romance plot in The Hobbit and now I'm angy.
#Firebird Randomness#words cannot describe how much the writing ended up making me DESPISE poor Evangeline's character#like it was NOT her fault but goddamn they turned her into the single most annoying stereotype ever#and Kili they massacred my boy#and they REALLY massacred poor Fili my love my life#AND DON'T GET ME STARTED ON WHAT THEY DID TO THRANDUIL#I CAN'T EVEN SPELL HIS NAME RIGHT ANY MORE#my king you did not deserve this#seriously she was 'how to ruin a female character 101'#I had no problem w/ them expanding on the elves you want more movies fine whatevs you want money#but for starters undercutting Legolas and Gimli's friendship w/ some shitty forced romance???#MISCHARACTERISING THRANDUIL????#just to shill this rando chick that wasn't in the original story???#like listen get more ladies in the plot sure I'm down#but that was NOT the way to do it#I couldn't even finish those movies she drove me so crazy#and also this is a purist thing but orcs shouldn't have morgul weapons that was a nazgul thing??? like they they don't make arrows of that#like it could've been poison it should have just been poison#honestly it did the same thing to Kili too I like Aidan Turner but damn I wanted to throw Kili into the sea#I think the actors should have just thrown out the script and improved honestly#like them being kinda friendly okay like presumably not every single elf and dwarf were at each other's throats 24/7#but when you undercut Legolas and Gimli forging their own bond by insisting that this chick 'shows him dwarves aren't bad'#and you take away one of Thranduil's MOST IMPORTANT MOMENTS by instead of having him choose to go help the town#proving that although vain and isolationist he IS an honest leader and on the side of good now they make this rando COMMIT BLOODY TREASON#and point an arrows at him??????#she was “strong female character” [written by a man] so hard it HURT MY HEAD#sorry I have a lot of rage about this#again it's not the actress' fault and I'm mainly just disappointed in Peter for caving#I know who really did this#*stares at Warner Bros*

Inspired by that post about Thranduil being all defensive/protective over Gimli in Valinor:
We all know the head canon of Thorin being all "no nephew of mine even associates with an elf" BUT
Just imagine, in a world where all three Durins survived, and Tauriel saved Kili (again), and some other elf healed his and Fìli's wounds last minute.
Thorin saw both his nephews almost die before him, has LIVED through how the gold sickness twists the mind and perception of things, and after coming to terms with Bilbo's theft of the Arkenstone, he for a while questions EVERYTHING.
And yes, he totally has a dramatic phase of self pity, holing up in his rooms, drinking Elvish wine (cus thats all there is atm) and smoking Gandalf's pipeweed, and mourning how "everything i knew is a LIE" and "if elves can make such amazing wine there HAS to be some good in them" and "I almost got my boys killed I am such a failure boooohoooo", and after Bilbo kicks his ass out if depression (and a STRONG worded letter from his sister) he is like "okay FUCK y'all I have TRAUMA TM and will do WHATEVER I WANT!!"
So when Kili all shyly comes forward one day asking if Tauriel can please stay with them in the mountain because she's banished from the Woodland Realm he's all "OF COURSE she can stay, you do you my precious boy, if Thranduil is stupid enough to let such a great warrior go we'll stick it to him"
and BAM, Tauriel joins Dwalin in leading Erebor's guard, and Dwalin is torn between "excuse ME u want me to share my job with a pointy eared maiden?" And "holy hell that lass has fire can't show how impressed I am".
And Tauriel Takes No Shit even from her own boyfriend, so Kìli is forced to take his new responsibilities seriously because "I did NOT lose my home to live with a CHILD, Kili", and Fili gets dragged into the whole thing without really understanding what happened, but hey, his lil brother is happy so who cares really.
And whenever someone at council (like Dain) complains about an Elf in the mountain, Thorin goes absolutely FERAL like "are you saying I don't know what's best for this mountain I just won from A DRAGON?! are you suggesting that my perfect baby nephew has bad taste? Huh? Exactly, didn't think so!!!!" And is a protective Papa bear "listen Tauriel if someone gives you shit you SHOOT them. No, not killing them, but, you know, just maim them a little to make a point. Trust me I'm the king."
And once Kili and Tauriel have their first child Thorin constantly kidnaps the kid and has them in the forge before they can even talk because "need to keep up that good old dwarven influence".
Anyway I'll go cry myself to sleep now.

Insecurities. . .
(Kili x Reader)
Tumblr media
(A/N); Hello and welcome, readers!! As always, thank you for stopping by!! I thought it was high time to write a fic for Kili! After all, who can resist that cheeky smile of his?? Do enjoy! ❤
Plot; Comfort drabble
Pairings; Kili x Reader (Romantic)
Warnings; fluffity-fluff and some angy-angst
_____________________________________
The evening was cheerful, the Company of Thorin Oakenshield having stopped for the night after a long day's travels. Peaceful ambience of the forest began to increase in the nightfall, the breeze light and cool as it swayed through the rustling trees.
Firelight filled the camp with a warm flickering glow, the smell of woodsmoke and Bombur's cooking potent in the air. Conversation was easy to find and delightful, as always. Bofur, Dwalin, Nori and a few of the others were sat together, conversing in what sounded like their native tongue. The intricacies and mysteries of Khuzdul still left you amazed, despite how it was only merriful banter.
You had stood by Bombur, offering to take Bofur's place tonight as the food-server. Each bowl of soup was steaming hot, your steps having to be quick to avoid burning yourself too badly from the scalding liquid as it dripped from the bowl. Each Dwarf had eagerly taken the food that was offered, exhaustion fueling their hunger. Even Bilbo and Gandalf seemed relieved to finally be eating this evening. The days were long and draining, trudging through the wilderness in the everchanging landscape. You too found relief in finally dropping down beside the youngest of the two Princes once your rounds were finished.
Fili, who usually kept him company of a nighttime, was occupied in the audacious conversations nearby. The booming laughter that rang out almost startled you whilst you settled in alongside Kili, him offering the occasional soft chuckle at the words being thrown between bites of his food.
Darting to you, the Prince's hazel eyes glistened with the embers of the campfire. A soft smile of amusement crossed his face, the action always seeming to offer you comfort. "What are they on about now?", you quirked a brow, his expression becoming contagious.
"By this point in the conversation, I don't think you want to know".
"Enlighten me", you encouraged, laughter slipping from the Princeling's lips. It was hard for Kili to restrain his smile when he finally obliged.
"They're taking bets on whether or not Bofur uses his hat in the bedroom".
"Pigs", you huffed, a moment's silence passing before you added, "He clearly does". The Prince snorted, his soup suddenly travelling through his nostrils. Something akin to a guffaw escaped his lips, whilst he desperately tried to grapple his composure in your now shared laughter.
"Agreed", he managed to wheeze out, wiping at his face and mouth.
In moments like this, you appreciated the bond that had formed between you both. Despite the seriousness of the quest at hand, you always found yourself at ease within Kili's easygoing nature and cheeky humour. He always had a way of soothing your anxieties with his jokes and lighthearted conversations, always looking on the brighter side of things. And although he was oblivious to such things, you'd come to find him to be quite beautiful.
It was hard not to when the light of the fire danced over his features, illuminating the strands of hair that fell effortlessly over his face. You'd come to admire those wavy tresses with their now auburn glow, sitting over his strong and broad shoulders. You wondered how he cared for them, keeping them so clean despite the lack of hygiene this quest entailed.
With his head turned and gaze fixed on the forest ahead, you found that his messed half-up had lost a few strands that dangled, masking the Prince's handsome face from your current view. His metal clasp was now sitting loosely on the back of his head. And although it offered him a fitting style, you wished to fix it for him.
Dinner became suddenly forgotten in your new endeavours when you decided to test the waters with Kili. Reaching for the strand that had fallen loose over his face, your fingertips worked the silken strands behind his ear with a delicate precision. The Prince almost seemed to stiffen at your touch, his breaths halting whilst goosebumps ignited across his skin. His lips had parted, lashes fluttering. No woman had ever touched him like that before. And although there was nothing sensual about your touch, it made every part of him light up like fire, craving more of that soothing gentleness.
Sensing his quiet, you became hesitant to continue. "May I fix your hair for you?". Your question had his hazel orbs clouding in confusion, scanning your face for any sign that you may have been jesting. He nodded shyly, his voice seeming to waver slightly,
"Please". That being all the confirmation you needed, you pulled the large clasp from his hair, the thick layers falling loose. Excitement bubbled in your chest whilst you shuffled closer to the handsome Dwarf.
Steadying his breaths, he resisted the shudder that passed through him when your fingers began working through his hair like a gentle comb. You began to remove the small tangles, relishing in the soft touch of his hair. The moisture in the strands was not greasy or dirty in nature and his waves bounced back, unaffected by your touches. The Prince's eyes had fallen closed, his dinner being long abandoned in his blissful state. The sensation of your nails brushing over his scalp had him drawing his bottom lip between his teeth to fight the pleasurable sighs that dared to leave his throat.
The boisterous conversations that once ensnared his attention had faded from his ears. He was barely able to register your voice when you spoke so gently to him. "Your hair is so beautiful", you marveled, spindling his soft hair between your fingers playfully. "How do you keep it so soft and lovely?". The young Prince felt his throat tightening from shock, pondering what your interest was in his hair. In his opinion, there was nothing special about his tresses.
Kili gathered no attention from women, unlike his fellow kin. His complete lack of facial and body hair meant that to any respectable Dwarf, he was considered ugly or unattractive. At your compliments, it was only normal for him to be in a state of disbelief. You were the first and only woman to take interest.
"It's nothing special", he finally murmured. "I just use a light oil after I wash my hair".
"You need to lend it to me sometime", you insisted with a grin, your eyes seeming to sparkle with mirth. "It works wonders on your hair. It's so beautiful". Kili felt his heartbeat increase, his tone falling quieter amidst his further disbelief.
"Do you think so?". In a sudden surge of confidence, you replied,
"I know so. You have the most gorgeous looking hair out of all the Dwarves in this Company". His eyes had blown wide, his lips parting in surprise. "It looks lovely pinned back", you added, finally binding his hair securely with his clasp. "Or left out". You shrugged. He grew confused when you shuffled in front of him. "But, I think I like your fringe the most. It frames your kind face without hiding it".
You were so close now, your (e/c) eyes trained on the delicate strands that made up his bangs. Your touch was featherlight and uncalloused, your face screwed in concentration. In your current focus, you didn't see the admiration and awe for you that shimmered in his gaze. Never had he gotten attention like this, even from a friend. Friend. He despised that word when his thoughts drifted to you. But, how could you possibly ever find him attractive?? His lack of facial hair and muscle was unmanly, even by human standards.
You were strangely beautiful to Kili. You weren't as tall or lithe as the Elves, nor as creamy-skinned or graceful. You had perfect little imperfections in your skin and freckles. Your hair had character, being curly. And you almost always wore your hair out of your face, the odd stray hair coming to frame it perfectly. And from the moment he sensed his feelings for you some weeks ago, Kili had felt his confidence decrease. He felt as if he had no chance with 12 other eligible Dwarves in the Company that could easily win you over with their toned bodies and lavish, braided hair.
The Princeling wasn't oblivious to how you often spent your time with Ori, looking through his books and learning how to knit the varying patterns he practiced. And despite how Ori was much younger than Kili, he had an attractive amount of body hair. He was nowhere near as confident as the Prince, nor as rehearsed in the prowess of battle. However, it didn't stop the envy that crept its way into his heart and mind. Looks had always mattered to everyone else before, so why would it be any different now?
When your cooler hands brushed over his face whilst you worked, it left burning tingles in his skin. You noted the perfect shaping of his eyebrows, running your thumbs over them to smooth any stray hairs. His features were strong, to be expected of a man in Dwarven culture. You swept loose pieces of his fringe from his cheeks, his stubble seductively rough beneath your skin.
Some part of you preferred Kili without a beard. All the hair that hung from the others was so extravagant, but you liked seeing more of his face. His cheeky smile was your favourite thing to see, even on a bad day. Perhaps a beard would hide that?
Raking his fringe up for slight volume, you found yourself taken by how ethereal he seemed. You questioned yourself on whether or not it was your lack of food and rest from the day, but you couldn't ignore the fondness that crept into your soul at being so close with him. A smile marked your face, setting the last strands of his dark locks aside.
"Beautiful", you'd murmured, a sense of accomplishment filling your heart. The warmth of his skin increased beneath your lingering fingertips, his hazel gaze playing over your softer features. To his greater surprise, there was only genuity in your expression. Not wanting you to retreat from him, Kili placed his heated callouses over your own, fighting the way his eyes slightly glazed over with tears.
"Thank you". He offered you one of those boyish smiles, taking comfort in the suppleness of your skin beneath his own. You caressed the stubble beneath your skin, grazing your thumb over the smoothness of his sharp cheekbone. Kili chuckled in amusement, "I look a bit more dignified now".
"Nonsense. Your hair looked fitting either way", you laughed softly, squeezing the warmer hands that held your own. "It's truly beautiful. Stubble and all". His dark brows had risen, wonder filling his kind gaze. You really didn't mind his lack of body hair??
"I always thought my stubble was– I thought it may have been unsightly", he confessed with the hints of a nervous smile, your brows creasing in light concern. "Beards are of high importance in my culture".
"Not in mine", you shrugged, slowly trailing your thumb over his dimples and slightly chapped lips. "Besides, how else would I be able to see that gorgeous smile?". The shy grin that slowly splayed onto his face at your words was the happiest one you'd ever seen on the Prince. Your words had dissolved any unsurities in his heart. "That's the one", you giggled, Kili trying and failing to restrain his smile.
"I think I like yours better", he murmured, sweeping one of your stray curls from your face. "It's the one I fell for, after all".
The small gap between you both closed, Kili's burning lips meeting yours in a gentle touch. It started off unsure and light, becoming almost fervent when your head tilted and lips parted to allow his tongue to slip past them. Using his hand resting along your jaw, he guided your head closer to his own, relishing in the need to be as close to you as possible. His stubble scratched the skin of your face pleasurably, a soft sigh exhaling through your nose.
The both of you separated, your lips swollen and tingling from the caresses and nibbles of his own. Kili's eyes finally fluttered open after a few moments, skimming your face with a soft tenderness. "Abnâmul", he whispered, running a heated digit over your tingling lips. "You'll have to let me do that more often".
"I'll have to think about it", you mused, squeezing the hand that cradled your face affectionately.
"Hopefully not too hard", Kili sighed in pretend dejection, tracing his thumb along your cheek. "I do really love you".
"I'm glad the feeling is mutual", you chuckled softly, pressing your lips to his with a playfulness. No longer burdened with his insecurities, Kili's laughter chased your own,
"Me too".
The End. . .

Whaaaat??? A teaser from THIS FIC??? It’s finally happening???
In truth, I apologize for the delays on some of these fic updates, I am trying a new process this year to hopefully make the gaps between updates less GIANT than they are right now. That being said, I have a lot of stories on the go! But anyway, here it comes, a teaser from the upcoming chapter of MYFBB.

Thorin had a fair amount of scares in his life, and this was one he didn’t want to see happen again, and despite Bilbo’s kind heart in trying to soothe Thorin’s frayed nerves, something needed to be done about Bjartur and his accomplices that likely knew a storm was coming. A storm in the form of one stern faced Thorin Oakenshield.
“Where are you going?” Fili asked, practically stepping on Thorin’s heels as he trailed after his uncle.
“You’ll see.” It wasn’t uncommon for one of the boys to pal around with ‘Uncle Thorin’ on the best of days, but this was hardly a good day at all. It had been Dis’ idea without Thorin’s knowledge or say so, but the oldest of the remaining Durin line wasn’t that stupid. He had an inkling that Fili’s sudden interest in his day today had something to do with…something. Usually Dis, but it mattered little. Thorin was a dwarf on a mission, and no one was going to interfere with that–not even his own sister, or one of his nephews.
The expression that Thorin wore was as thunderous as a summer storm. Angry and harsh, and it kept most dwarrow out of his way as he moved into the mountain to finally face the dwarf responsible for nearly taking his happiness away. At the very least, Thorin had given himself a few days to simmer before marching, but there was no amount of comfort measurable that could soothe his agitation. If he’d had it his way, banishment had sounded nice, but that was a wild knee-jerk reaction that he didn’t want to entertain too long.
He didn’t want to become a mirror image of his late grandfather, after all.
Trudging below the surface, striding his way between dwarrow and guilds alike with no small amount of eyes lingering on (and following) he and Fili, it must have been the commotion of the day to see the would-be-king of the Longbeards striding with such purpose. Thorin then came to a halt as soon as he found what he was looking for. Standing right in front of a smithy that made his heart pound fiercely in tune with the sound of Bjartur’s apprentice tending to some form of metal.
“Uncle, are you sure?” Fili asked a tad quieter than normal before Thorin rose his hand to signal for silence, waiting for them to be noticed.

Fluffober Day 13: Soulmates
Kili Durin x f!human!reader
Word Count: 1.5k
AN: OMG! This has definitely been my favorite to write so far. I love Kili with my whole heart and that for sure came out while I was writing. I really want to see about making this a longer series once October ends, if anyone wants to see that leave a comment and let me know.

The culture of the dwarves is much like their treasure, kept under lock and key. Histories, customs, and traditions all are played very close to the chest of the stubborn race. The only beings who are let in on the secret are those lucky enough to be a fated match.
There are different names for these matches in every culture, Soulmates, true loves, twin flames. The dwarves called them Ones. To find your One was said to be the best day of your life. At least that is what Kili thought, he wouldn’t know though. He hadn’t met his yet.
His uncle’s one had been the Hobbit, Bilibo took longer to fall than Thorin but fell just as hard if not harder than the dwarf. The two were very much in love, it was sickening. His mother’s One had been his father, and he doesn’t remember much about their time together. Fee’s One was a lovely lass that had come from the Blue Mountains to try and establish herself as a seamstress under the mountain.
All of them had told him how wonderful finding their Ones was, even Thorin whose One was not of the race of Dwarf and thusly did not feel the same pull that he had. Thorin had to actually make Bilbo fall in love with him, which amused Kili to no end because of how much their two personalities seemed to clash.
Kili hates spending time under the mountain now, he loves Erebor and takes pride in the fact that he was one of the brave few who had reconquered it, but everywhere he looked he saw people being happy with something he did not have.
The feeling went much deeper than those childhood squabbles he had had with Fili when the two pebbles would play together. Jealousy over toys was easily remedied, the ache that had recently taken up residence in Kili’s heart was much more difficult to push aside or fix.
So he had taken to going for walks. He had volunteered himself too many times to be the point of contact for the King of Dale. He had told Thorin it was because he wanted to prove that he could be trusted with matters of diplomacy. He might not be next in line, but he was still a prince and could take care of these things. It was on one of these trips to Dale that Kili met the very person who would change his life.
She was of the race of men and seemed to work in one of the few taverns that housed the nightlife of the town. Kili was in a sort of informal meeting with Bard, his son Bain, and the Captain of the Guard. They were discussing a deal between the two kingdoms where Erebor would provide the army of Dale with iron-forged armor and weapons and in turn, Dale would pledge their allegiance to the kingdom under the mountain in any future battle. Kili couldn’t help but find the humor in the reversal of roles as if the company had not asked and pledged the same things five years ago. This clause was only one of the facets that made up the current peace treaty in the works. It was Kili’s idea to have the meeting in a less tense and stuffy room than they were previously held in.
“Everybody has to eat Bard, why don’t we eat and talk at the same time? I’m sure we’d all be much more comfortable.” Bard had agreed at the behest of Bain who had laughed and reminded his father of the last time he had had a proper meal. After that, the men had embarked towards Bard’s favorite tavern. And judging by the way he had jovially called out to the man behind the bar, he was at least acquainted with the people who worked there.
Their waitress was a beautiful woman, who had skills like Kili had never seen, and he had been in a lot of taverns. She was able to carry three trays of piping hot food at the same time and at one point he had even seen her stack and move at least twelve pint glasses to a rowdier table towards the back of the establishment. And she did all this with the most beautiful smile he had ever seen.
If only he would actually get to talk to her. The tavern was busy and she seemed to be one of the only other people working besides the man behind the bar and whoever was preparing the food to be served. She was never in the same place for a very long time. After she had gotten their initial order she had placed their pints down and immediately zipped off to fulfill the next request.
Without the ability to actually talk to her, Kili had to settle for second-hand knowledge. “So what can you tell me about the woman who served us?” Kili asked nobody in particular.
“Why, do you fancy her?” Came Bain’s reply.
“No, but any woman that can carry that much and move that fast without wasting a drop is certainly one I want to get to know.”
“Her name is y/n, She’s apprenticed to Brant, the man who owns this tavern. She arrived in Dale a year or two ago. I think she's from Bree but she's settled here. I think she has an arrangement with him, when he finally retires the place will be hers.” Bard had explained, throwing a somewhat scolding glance at his son. Kili might be young and more carefree than his uncle but he is still a prince and Bard did not wish to offend him.
“Interesting, any idea why she left Bree? It’s quite a long journey to take on your own.” Kili asked.
“Why don’t you ask her?” A third, much more feminine voice replied. Kili who had not seen her make her way over to their table, had nearly jumped out of his skin. The other men tried and failed to hide their amusement at his predicament. “After all, I’m sure she’d be willing to tell you as long as she didn’t catch you talking about her when she wasn’t around.” She had said all of this with a smile spread across her face and delight in her voice. Kili wasn’t really sure how she felt about his impolite inquiries, but she hadn't chased him out of the establishment with a broom yet, so he thought he was okay.
“I’ve gotten everyone else settled and thought I’d come visit the King, how are you this evening King Bard?” her attention was firmly placed on the King of Dale now, and Kili longed for her piercing gaze to once again land on him.
“I’ve told you, it’s just Bard, all of this King nonsense will just go to my head,”
“Of course King Bard.” She smirked and turned towards the rest of the men. “Anything else I can get you, gentlemen?” With a firm nod at their newest order, she spun and headed back towards the bar.
“I think I’m in love.” Kili had said under his breath.
“I think it’ll take you much more than that to win her over.” Bain had replied, hearing Kili’s self-confession. “Every time we’re in here I see her turn down men. Granted, most of them are usually drunkards but the principle is all the same.”
Kili was certain that the fluttering in his chest and the feeling of light-headedness had to mean something. And given that both the feelings had started right after she had spoken to him, he was pretty sure he knew what it was.
“Here you are boys, four more pints and a basket of bread, on the house.” She had placed the basket of bread and little bowls of butter and honey on the table. When she pulled her hand away it bumped into Kili and sent a wave of shocks all the way up his arm.

Bagginshield Body Swap Idea
So after Smaug takes over Erebor and Dis finds her One Thorin tells Balin he wishes he could at least know if he has a One. Balin says there was an old ritual he'd read about where a dwarf would make a thing to hold some hair, a decent amount mind you not just a tiny bit, and while praying to Mahal would place it in a forge fire. If it worked you would switch bodies with your one.
Thorin finds himself thinking about this ritual near constantly so he tells Balin and Dwalin he's going to do it. Nothing happens. As time passes and Fili and Kili are born and grow they forget about the ritual.
A few decades later the second a certain Bilbo Baggins comes of age, Thorin finds himself at a hobbit party in a hobbit body. Followed by Belladonna realizing something is up and he has to explain to her. She asks how they get their bodies back and Thorin is stumped, it could wear off, be loves true kiss, redoing the ritual, he's got zero ideas. So adventure time it is, off to visit the dwarves in their mountain to get her son back.
Would also be funny if Bilbo was talking to Lobelia who was trying to win his favour and thinking Please Yavanna let me be anywhere but here and then boom body swap. Luckily for Bilbo he will have Balin to explain and help him.

Hi, I saw that you were taking request so I was wondering if you were were open too writing Fili husband/father headcanons as I loved the one you wrote about Thorin and am curious as to what your view is on the crown prince. <3
AHHHHHH okay so 1) thank you for the request sorry i literally have been nonexistent the last year and 2) I LOVE FILI he is actually my favorite dwarf so i was very thrilled to do these
Husband/Father Fili Durinson

Husband Fili
After settling in at Erebor and being crown prince, Fili decided that he was ready to lock in and settle down
He’s already known it’s you he wants
And even though it’s kind of obvious to everyone that you feel the same way he is a little delusional and thinks he has to like make a grand gesture
So he has you come move visit your future home him and erebor
He gives you little tours and is constantly showering you with gifts and compliments
He doesn’t really care about being a crown prince but for you he will use his rank to get what you want
It’s not until you’ve been there for a while that he finally opens up and tells you how he’s feeling and asking if you could be happy in erebor, if you could love him, etc.
He’s dumbfounded when you are like “of course” because he genuinely was not expecting you to be so willing
"But...I had a whole speech..."
Of course you let him profess his love, and he presents the wedding bead he has had crafted for you
You can see the amount of detail he put into it for you, the intricate carvings reminiscent of your favorite plants
You two are married soon after, though not quite as soon as Fili would have liked
He would have married you in a totally private moment with just the two of you and Balin, but Kili the other dwarves insisted on a proper celebration
The two of you manage to keep it to a minimum, though the ceremony is still beautiful
Fili cannot stop looking at you, openly crying as he says his vows to you, promise his heart and his love
Kili is ecstatic to have another sibling, and Dis welcomes you with a warmth that rivals the forges of Erebor. Even the stoic Thorin gives the two of you a kind word, though his approval is seen in the celebration he throws
After the wedding, Fili takes you away for a very long honeymoon, keeping you all to himself to love and adore in every possible way
Your actual marriage continues to be as beautiful and sweet
Fili cares for you, and he makes sure to show it through both words and actions
He's actually great at communication, encouraging you to be open and honest about your feelings
His feelings never fade, every day he is just as madly in love with you as before
He loves bringing you into court, showing you off as a princess/prince
Isn't crass, but also isn't afraid to be affectionate in public
Always needs to be touching you in someway, whether that be hand holding, his hand on your back, etc.
Unashamed to kiss you whenever the opportunity arises, and he prides himself on his ability to give innocent kisses that convey a warmth and a depth that leave you wanting more
In private...... whoa boy
That man is on you
Whether that be sexy time or cuddling, it doesn't matter, he needs you as physically close as possible
Loves holding you against his chest, murmuring sweet things in your ear
Always wants you to be as special and as loved as a spouse should be
Father Fili
Considering that Fili is a very passionate man, its no surprise when you become pregnant
Its something you both had been open about wanting, and when a healer confirms your symptoms, Fili is overjoyed
He keeps careful track of the pregnancy with you, loving to know how large the baby is, what kind of development is occurring, etc.
Trusts you to know your limits, though he's never too far to give a helping hand or to offer a gentle reminder to take it easy
Spends hours pouring over baby names with you, setting up the baby's room, discussing every little detail he can think of
He thought he couldn't be any happier, already being married to you, but when the baby arrives, he realizes just how much more room he has in his heart
He struggles making sure you get enough time with the baby, because he just never wants to put them down
After helping raise Kili, Fili feels like the father role is very natural for him.
Lots of soft Fili, gently rocking the baby as he walks around the room, his voice low as he sings to them
Loves watching your child grow up, making sure he's as active in the child's life as you are
Celebrates every milestone, loves talking about you and the child (he would be the kind of dad to show everyone the hundred photos he takes every day)
This man truly never tires of just being married and a father, making it clear that his role as prince comes after his family

Hello!! Could you do 14, 15 and 31 with Fili? Romantic or platonic, up to you. Thank you 💜
13. Sitting together
14. Handholding
15. Sharing a blanket (potentially violent)
31. Stargazing
This combination is classic and oh-so-fluffy, and with my favorite Dwarf to boot! I went ahead and added another prompt as well.
Everyone lives AU, because there is no other ending in my mind.
BTW I'm sick :( but I'm going to try to get at least one other prompt request out this week

Moonrise - Fíli Durin x Reader
The Durin's Day festival was always fun, but it was all the more spectacular in the newly reclaimed Erebor.
"The first autumn equinox since the mountain was reclaimed, can you believe it?" Fíli said with a bright smile, looking with pride at the crisscrossing bridges and vaulted ceilings of the entrance to the mountain. There was still plenty of work to be done, to be sure, but its improvement was impressive regardless.
"And in a couple days, the anniversary of when it was reclaimed," you nodded in agreement. "A few months after that, the anniversary of the first time you walked around by yourself."
"Hush, I'm trying to enjoy this," Fíli gave you a fake scowl, unconsciously probing the scar hidden beneath his tunic.
You changed directions. "Of course, my Prince," you teased. "You look very nice today."
You meant it. His hair was freshly washed, the slightly damp strands frizzing out in the cool morning air. Each bead was carefully placed, a few decorative gold ones added in place of a crown. His tunic was a smooth yet understated silk underneath his leather vest and wool coat. Every detail was precisely placed, the burnt oranges and browns blending seamlessly. He had clearly been seen to with the utmost care. He looked like royalty, even without the royal garb. Most importantly, he was healthy.
His smile softened, his cheeks turning a bit pink under his mustache. "Thank you," he glanced to the ground before looking back up at you. "And you're beautiful as ever."
You blushed deeper than him, unused to compliments. You plucked at the placket of your own wool coat, dyed a deep woad blue. It was your favorite. "Thank you," you said, choosing for once to believe him. "What duties do you have today?"
"None, surprisingly," Fíli breathed. "Thorin's let me have a break, so I can enjoy the first festival in our new home right alongside you." Something about that little word, our, set your heart ablaze. "You want to stick with me?"
"If you'll have me," he smiled again. That smile was impossible to resist.
"Of course I will."
Erebor had been steadily growing over the past year, but that day, it seemed more alive than ever. The market squares were full, overflowing into the wide side streets. Jewelry, blades, shields, ceramics, sculptures--anything made out of earth or in forges were certainly found somewhere in the expansive space. The Ereborian dwarves' tentative friendship with the Men of Dale caused new, less traditional stands to pop up as well: flower stalls, street food vendors featuring fish dishes, and clothing and homeware shops full of bolts of linen. The mountain had only dwarves—and Bilbo—in its halls, a presently rare occurrence, and so you were all free to speak Khuzdul, the sharp sounds ringing pleasantly in your ears.
The two of you strolled as quickly as possible through all the markets had to offer, determined not to miss the afternoon's performances. You exercised exemplary self-restraint, only stopping at one of every five stalls that caught your eye.
"No," became a very popular word as well, what with resisting Fíli's unceasing offers to purchase anything you liked.
"Well, if you will not spend any of your share of the treasure, I must spend some of mine and relieve what must be the terrible, stifling boredom of your living quarters, my friend," he teased, mustache beads swinging from side to side.
"I will have no prince wasting his money on me."
"Oh, it's never a waste if it's you," Fíli told you surely.
There he went again, saying things that made your palms sweat and your cheeks flush. "You're too kind."
Fíli smirked at the way you diverted your gaze. "Well, if I cannot buy you a rug, at least allow me to buy you lunch," he gestured to a permanent restaurant on the corner that was swarmed with dwarrow.
You couldn't help a smile at that. "Hot stew?" You asked, referring to the almost overpoweringly spicy meat-and-potato stew that was a dwarven classic. Benron's was your favorite.
"As hot as you like, of course," He agreed, guiding you forward with a gentle hand on your back.
The stew made your eyes stream in the best way, and you pulled Fíli out of the restaurant scarcely once he was finished eating. "We have to find good seats!" You reasoned as he raised an eyebrow, still wiping his mouth.
"You do realize that Thorin has the best seats, and by extension, we do as well?"
"Right," you said. You had forgotten. Somehow, none of the Durins were royalty in your mind. They were still your traveling companions, dirt poor and looked at as crazy.
"Still, it is sort of nice to take a seat before everyone starts filtering in and it gets too loud," Fíli reassured you. "After you."
The grand presentation began with a song to the mountain. In the ancient tradition, singing was a way to ask the mountain to reveal its secrets, a careful gathering of tones that would uncover its nature.
This song, however, was made more to please the ears of the listener. It was a song of thanks, of hardly believing that this mountain was once again the shelter for her people. You tried your best to control the tears that rose to your eyes.
Fíli leaned over, bumping your shoulder with his. You gave a small smile that he returned, and you could see in his eyes that he was thinking of all that it took to get there.
"We did it," you whispered.
"Yeah, we did."
The opening songs were followed by traditional dances, a speed-forging competition, and a few spars. You cheered on the brothers as they fought each other, with a healthy dose of brotherly teasing. Fíli let his little brother win, or so he told you. The look on Kíli's face was more than worth it. You congratulated him and let them both clean up as you headed to the gates.
The gates were still open, cool air pouring into the mountain as the sun dropped in the sky.
Dale was dimmer than usual—the city was empty. The men were lining the edge of the water with candles. This equinox now also marked the anniversary of the fall of Laketown and many of their loved ones. The dwarves tried their best to be respectful of their vigil.
You leaned against the wall and watched. You hoped they found peace and remembered to enjoy their new lives. Bard, standing at the back of the group, turned around. He caught your eye and nodded.
"Come with me, I think we should see something," Fíli's low whisper startled you from your reverie, and his hand wrapping around yours even more so.
"Where are we going?" You asked, not that it mattered. With his hand in yours, you'd probably follow him anywhere.
He led you on a trek around the front of the mountain, the setting sun turning everything orange and making his hair appear as flames as you went.
Caught in the daze of bliss, it took you a while to notice what was draped over his other arm. "Wait, is that—I told you not to buy that!"
It was the woven blanket you had noticed earlier, the tapestry depicting sunrays falling through a thick forest of firs. "And what if I bought this for myself? I have uses for it."
"Then it's alright, I suppose."
"You can keep it once I'm done with it, though."
"Sly fox."
"Coin pincher."
"Seriously, though, where are we going?" You asked.
Fíli smiled at you. "A certain very large staircase."
You gasped. "Leading to a secret doorway?"
"The very same. I figured, since we were both trying to help Kili, erm, not die, we missed the excitement, and now we can see it for ourselves."
"That's extraordinarily thoughtful of you."
"Eh, I'd say averagely thoughtful at best," Fíli shrugged.
"Perfectly suitable for me," you told him.
"Good."
The achingly long trip up the staircase was rewarded with a very nice sight: another, less decorative blanket spread across the stone, a couple flat pillows, and three lanterns, already lit and ready to face the darkness.
"When did you find time to do this?" You asked Fíli, grinning from ear to ear.
"I have my ways," he said mysteriously. "And help."
"That's where Bofur, Bilbo, and Dori disappeared to," you observed. "I see. Well, it's very sweet of all of you."
"I'm glad you think so," Fíli said, still holding your hand as he guided you to sit on the blanket with him.
The stairs had taken longer than anticipated, so the sun was already almost gone. You quieted as you realized how close the time was. The two of you watched in quiet admiration as the moon rose, bright and perfect, into the sky, before you turned, hoping to catch a glimpse of the door.
You gasped. "There it is!" The moonrise revealed the shape of a perfectly hidden keyhole. "That is very neat, indeed."
"Mmhm," Fíli agreed. "Beautiful." The keyhole was not what he thought was beautiful. He wasn't actually looking at the door at all, but rather you, and the way the moonlight reflected off every spectacular detail of your face.
He had never known quite when he started to feel this way, only that he didn't in the Blue Mountains, when he barely knew you, and he did now.
You turned your gaze from the keyhole once the wonder had made a comfortable space in your heart, and looked to the stars, all too aware of how close Fíli was.
You read out the constellations to yourself in the comfortable silence, assuming the prince was doing the same. You then heard him shift.
"Lay with me," Fíli offered, and you turned around in record time, cheeks blazing and eyes wide.
"What?"
He was already lying down with his head on one of the pillows. "To watch the stars more comfortably."
"Alright," you said, voice quiet. You scooted down until you could lay your head on the other pillow, before changing your mind. You decided to take a risk and settle your head on his chest instead.
"Is this alright?" You asked immediately. The last thing you wanted was for him to be uncomfortable in this situation.
"Of course it is," he said softly, his arm raising to hold your waist. "I enjoy being close to you."
It wasn't quite a grand confession, but it was good enough for your heart to begin hammering in your chest. "I enjoy being close to you, too."

Khuzdul: Thorinuldûm - Thorin’s Halls, the settlement of the refugees from the Lonely Mountain in the Blue Mountains Amad - mother
Tumblr media
1.
It was a perfect morning. Thorin stretched and yawned, settling himself on his favourite chair in the kitchen. The air that whiffed into the dwarven stronghold from the outside felt warm on his cheeks and smelled like spring. As he sipped his morning tea, that strong, aromatic blend Dori bought in Bree, his sister appeared at the threshold. She gave Thorin a bright smile and, seeing her steaming mug on the table, she sat next to him. The lazy silence of the early hours of the day was soon broken by the appearance of two dishevelled pebbles, one with a thatch of golden hair, the other – with his hair as brown as a bear’s fur in winter. After the mandatory morning hugs, Thorin readied breakfast while Dís prepared her sons for the day, humming to herself. Thorin could not stop himself from smiling. His sister was probably already thinking of her visit to the market. She adored going there in the morning, especially on the days when the merchants arrived with new goods – and today was one of those days. Thorin sighed. As much as he wanted her to have a very much needed moment of respite – his sister-sons were quite a handful, to put it mildly – he was painfully aware of what it was going to mean to him. Half a day of having his eyes around his head and his ears pricked up for any unusual noises they may create… or worse – the ominous silence. In the past, there was only a handful of moments when he and Dís realised that the boys went completely silent. It never bode well.
This day, however, started with the pitter-patter of the boys’ bare feet, chatter and laughter, and the clatter of their bowls as they ate their oatmeal. Dís reminded them to behave while she was gone, and left for the market. Fíli seemed very content about this state of things, knowing well by now that staying with his mother’s brother meant visiting various places in these halls, like forges, or assisting Thorin in other exciting ways. It was different with Kíli – his loud wails of protest at being so cruelly abandoned reverberated against the walls of their home. Thorin imagined they must have followed their mother through the corridors of Thorinuldûm for a long while. Her Little Bear, as Dís called him, was still too young to understand the connection between Mommy leaving, and the sudden appearance of candied rhubarb or his favourite cream toffees.
Distracting Kíli from his misery was not easy, but Thorin managed it by offering to take the boys for a new adventure. Their big blue eyes shone as he told them they would be going to the lower levels of the city together. It was a real treat – Kíli had never been there before and Fíli visited them only a handful of times.
Thorin had a mind to visit the Engineers’ Quarter and show the lads around while discussing some technical issues with one of the water engineers. And so they began their adventure. As they descended down the wide stone stairs Kíli stumbled and yawned, so Thorin decided to carry him the rest of the way. Soon Little Bear began snoring in his arms, and Thorin attempted to ignore the fact that his own tunic was becoming gradually soaked through with his nephew’s saliva. He also started suspecting that the moniker “Little Bear” must have surely come from the fact that Kíli seemed to weigh more and more with every step, like a true bear.
“At least he is not crying,” Thorin muttered to himself, and kept on walking. Thank Mahal for silver linings.
As they arrived at their destination, however, the situation got worse. The Engineers’ Quarter was a crowded place that smelled like tar, coal, and burned leather. Not minding the much larger adult dwarves in their soot-stained clothes who carried – or carted – their wares from one place to another, curious Fíli began rushing between them, oblivious of the chaos he was creating. He took a look at the wheelwright’s workshop here, and then he had to see the toolmaker’s booth there; he then insisted on seeing how parchment was being made, and attempted to find the place where they manufactured those shiny cogwheels. If not for his golden mane, Thorin would have lost his nephew at least a couple of times. Brór, the water engineer he had a meeting with, joined Thorin in the chase for the high-spirited boy. Instead of looking at the water supply pipeline blueprints and trying to fix a problem with water pressure, they ended up unwillingly playing a hide-and-run game to the delight of the onlookers. Seeing your own king running back and forth through the great cavern with one giggling pebble strapped to his chest while chasing after the other one must have been very amusing… for anyone but him, Thorin thought with resignation. His resignation grew even more when he noticed Fíli climbing onto a tall work table… and jumping down onto a heap of coal.
When Thorin finally caught the runaway, they were both out of breath. Although it was rather Fíli who caught his uncle – the boy ran into him and clung to his left leg as if a throng of orcs chased him.
Fíli raised his teary-eyed face to Thorin and sobbed out, “A monster wanted to eat meeee…”
“A monster? Here?” Thorin’s brow furrowed.
It took him a while to reassure Fíli that no monster was going to eat him. In turn, Thorin promised to get rid of the said monster that apparently lurked in a nearby chamber, and shrieked at him. He left his nephews in the care of Brór who tried to look solemn, but his twitching lips betrayed him. Thorin grunted and entered the chamber, carefully looking around, adjusting his eyes to the dark surroundings. And then he saw two glowing points of red. And heard the shrieking.
2.
When Thorin returned to Brór, Kíli was fast asleep once again. Leaving Little Bear in the engineer’s care once again, he took Fíli’s hand and led him to the entrance of the dark chamber. When they opened the door, they both heard the continuous shrieking now. His nephew stopped and refused to walk inside, covering his ears and closing his eyes.
“There are no monsters here, Fíli.” Thorin reassured the boy. “See for yourself.”
“Nnoooo…” muttered Fíli, hiding behind his uncle.
“Do not be afraid,” Thorin added. “Nothing will hurt you here. I promise.”
On the bench by the door stood a lantern. It took him a moment to light it. With the lantern in hand, Thorin crossed the threshold and approached the nearest lantern that hung on the wall, and then another, and another. Soon, the whole chamber was bright as day, each lantern giving off a pleasant yellow glow.
“You can come in now,” Thorin smiled encouragingly.
With his ears covered and his eyes set on the shrieking, wobbling entity in the middle of the chamber, Fíli shook his head.
“This is not a monster.” Thorin stepped towards the huge bulbous shape that made so much noise. He placed his hand on the top of the strange shaking thing and added, “This is a washing barrel.”
Fíli blinked and took a good look at it. The two red glowing points did not look like a pair of evil eyes any longer. Those were two ball-shaped lanterns standing on top of the… thing. That shrieking noise now seemed to sound like a couple of cogwheels that needed a bit of oil, and not like a monster’s screech. And the arm that seemed to reach out to grab him before, turned out to be a cast iron lever.
“A… barrel?” Fíli looked at his uncle and took one uncertain step towards him and the strange contraption.
“Correct. A barrel that washes your clothes,” Thorin explained in an even voice and at the same moment the shrieking stopped. “Look, it has just finished the washing cycle. Let me show you how it works. First, you open this hatch, like so… Watch out for the water! These clothes are clean, they only need to be wrung out and dried.”
As he spoke, Fíli slowly started closing the distance between them, his eyes becoming wider and wider.
“... but if you want to wash your clothes,” Thorin continued, “you need to put them inside, here, and add some soap suds. Then you close the hatch, pour some water here, crank this lever a few times, do this, like so, and wait for the washing barrel to finish its work!”
Thorin kept on talking until Fíli seemed to be completely in awe of this new piece of machinery, his fear completely forgotten. He peppered his uncle with tons of questions: how many cogwheels were there, how many times one should crank the lever, what the barrel was made of… and so on, and so forth. When they left the chamber, there was a big smile on the boy’s lips instead of tears.
On their way back home Fíli exclaimed, “This was the bestest adventure ever!”
Thorin thought that sometimes being an uncle happened to be quite rewarding. Even if his tunic was still wet from Kíli’s sleepy drooling.
***
His attitude completely changed less than half an hour later, when his nephews disappeared. Both of them. At once.
Stumbling over several painfully angular wooden toys, Thorin searched the boys’ bedroom. Nothing. He even looked under their beds (twice!), but there was no sign of the boys anywhere. They weren't sitting in the common kitchen nor searching for snacks in the pantry. Nor in Dwalin’s rooms where Kíli liked to play hide-and-scare with the big warrior. There were nowhere to be found – not in the rocking chair by the fireplace, nor even in Balin’s study by that large desk where Fíli liked to play so often. Thorin closed his eyes. If he did not find his nephews before Dís returned from the market, his sister would have Thorin’s own head on a spike. The wrath of dwarf-women was ten times fiercer than the one of dwarf-men. In the case of his little sister, the number was much higher, at least a hundred times. And Thorin would do everything he could to avoid being on the receiving end of it.
There was no time to lose. He recruited Dwalin, Óin, and Halkatla, Balin’s wife, to the task of finding the boys, but they returned empty-handed. No one had seen the boys since their early lunch. Then, they were supposed to take a nap, and Thorin remembered their yawning as they closed the door to their bedroom behind him.
And now they were gone. Kidnapped? — No, impossible, Thorin thought. Dwarves cherished their children like the greatest treasures they were, and no one else was allowed into Thorinuldûm. There were no goblins nor other dangers here either. It felt as if the boys magically disappeared in a puff of smoke. Thorin looked around the wide corridor he stood in, but he found no traces of the missing boys.
“Have you checked all of their favourite places?” Halkatla asked, her red-and-silver braids clinking as she turned her head towards Óin.
“Aye, we did,” he nodded. “Not a sign of them.”
“Those wee rascals! I bet they are up to somethin’.” Dwalin said. “They remind me of us. Remember that time, Thorin, when we were around their age or so, and half of Erebor was lookin’ for us all day long?”
“It would be difficult to forget it,” Thorin admitted. “We wanted to avoid another boring lesson with our tutor…”
“...and instead we went to explore the mines! What a shame we lost our way,” Dwalin grinned and nudged him. “It was fun!”
“Aye, fun on an empty belly. If only you had not forgotten our food,” Thorin replied, relieved that his nephews had a proper meal at least.
“If only ye had not forgotten that map ye were supposed to borrow from your father’s desk,” Dwalin chuckled.
Before Thorin could form an adequate riposte, a mousy-haired dwarf approached him.
“M’lord, Master Brór says that the pipeline is fully functional again,” the messenger bowed.
Thorin gave him a nod of thanks. At least he brought a piece of good news. Master Brór was a skilled engineer, and the way he handled Thorin’s own sister-sons…
“Either way,” Dwalin continued, “we had a real adventure on that day, hadn’t we, Thorin?”
A thought appeared in Thorin’s mind. Master Brór. An adventure.
“There was one place where we have not searched yet,” he turned to his companions.
“I am listening,” Halkatla tilted her head, reminding him of a curious raven.
“The Engineers’ Quarters.”
***
Master Brór was more than happy to receive words of thanks from Thorin in person for fixing that pipeline issue once and for all. Despite Thorin’s hopes, he had not seen Fíli or Kíli since they left the Engineers’ Quarters with their uncle earlier that day. Dwalin muttered a curse under his breath.
“Well, that’s it. I’m goin’ to check the workshops,” the warrior said.
“I’ll take the ones on the left, you take the ones on the right,” Halkatla followed him.
“Let’s go,” Dwalin replied, his voice trailing off as he walked away. “And those wee cave bats would better be there or I swear…”
Master Brór addressed Thorin, “I will spread the word as you requested, my lord. Someone must have seen them, I am certain of it. They could not have simply disappeared.”
Thorin agreed with him and began his own search. The rocks could not have swallowed them whole! Magic was out of the question as well, there had to be a logical solution to this! Thoring pulled at his short beard in frustration. Wandering through the area and looking for any signs of his nephews in places they visited earlier that day, he wondered if Óin had any luck. The healer was waiting at their home in case Fíli and Kíli returned there on their own. Perhaps the three of them were already sitting by the fire, with Óin telling the boys countless amusing stories, while Thorin and his companions were checking every nook and cranny on the lower level, going out of their minds with worry. He raised his head, listening to a peculiar sound and trying to figure out its source. It sounded like… shrieking. It was not at all difficult to recall Fíli’s eyes shining with fear, awe, and then curiosity at the sight of the washing barrel.
Without thinking, Thorin turned his steps towards the chamber that housed the “monster” Fíli had been so afraid of not so long ago.
When Thorin arrived at his destination, the door was ajar. Thorin could hear the shrieking very well, but there were other sounds too. Very familiar sounds.
He took a deep breath and shouted, “Dwalin! I found them!”
***
When Thorin stepped inside the chamber, the sounds became even clearer. One of them he identified as uncontrollable giggling, and the other one, slightly muted, sounded like: “Woooo! Woooo! Wooooo! A carousel! Woooo! Faster, Fíli! Woooo!”
Thorin breathed out a sigh of relief only to be struck by a pang of dread a moment later.
Fíli stood by the washing barrel, cranking the lever, grinning from ear to ear, and laughing. Kíli was nowhere to be seen, but his enthusiastic shouts seemed to be coming from inside of the barrel. Inside, not outside. Thorin swallowed; he considered screaming in terror, but something told him that this was most definitely an example of behaviour unworthy of a king. It took him a moment to melt the ball of ice that was forming in his stomach. He closed the distance between him and the barrel in a blink of an eye.
Thank Mahal, the hatch was open. Inside, Kíli sat with his back against a wall of the large metal container inside the machine, surrounded by various articles of laundry, with a happy grin on his face, and a stray sock on top of his head. A wave of relief washed over Thorin.
“Uncle Thorin! Uncle Thorin!” Fíli exclaimed. “We’re playing carousel! Want to jump in?”
Thorin did not.
“It is time to return home, boys,” Thorin simply said, taking Kíli out of the barrel. His clothes were damp and he smelled like those violet flowers Dís liked so much, but other than that, he looked happy, and what’s more important, he was in one piece – just like his older brother.
“But uncle...” Fíli started.
“Your amad will be home soon. Do you not want to see what she bought at the market?”
“A sugar horse? She promised!” The boy recalled his favourite treat.
Holding Kíli firmly against his chest with one arm, Thorin held out his hand to Fíli.
“Let us go and see,” he said with a smile as his nephew’s tiny hand grabbed his.
There would yet be time for scolding and for a conversation about not sneaking out anywhere alone, but for now, the only thing that Thorin wanted was to safely bring his little rascals home.
He only hoped they would manage to reach their halls before Dís returned.
***
When Dís crossed the threshold of their home later in the afternoon, she was greeted by complete silence. Her sons were nowhere to be seen, which was very suspicious. They were always the first ones to run to her and see what she brought them this time. She expected Thorin to welcome her and help her unpack her basket, as usual — but he was not there either. Was this that ominous silence she dreaded so much whenever her boys were executing another of their silly mischiefs? Not really. It seemed as if their home was empty… until she heard a familiar sound coming from a nearby chamber. Dís put the basket on the floor and tiptoed deeper into their halls.
The picture that unfolded before her eyes was the last thing she had expected. Her brother was half sitting, half lying on the sofa, his legs stretched out in front of him, his head resting on the backrest, his eyes closed. Fíli was cuddled up to his uncle’s side, his hair tousled, making her think of a skein of golden yarn. Kíli lay on the opposite side of his uncle, his head resting on Thorin’s lap and turned towards her. He had his thumb in his mouth. Dís could clearly see the darker stain of drool on her brother’s trousers and stifled a giggle.
All three of them were asleep, of course. And all three of them were snoring in perfect unison. If she closed her eyes she could almost imagine that she had a working sawmill in front of her.
This scene was too adorable for Dís to interrupt it, so she decided that she would let her three boys sleep a little longer. There was no harm in a little nap, after all. Besides, she was tired, and there was still some space left on the sofa…As she drifted off to sleep beside them, her last conscious thought was: “Why do all three of them smell like my lavender laundry soap?”

The company climbed down the tall rock into the forest below. Having rested on the long flight over, everyone was prepared for a day of walking. Nothing notable happened except innocent conversation to pass the time and the forging of grapes with Bilbo for a snack.
The sun dipped closer to the horizon, casting long shadows through the trees. Thorin found a small river to make camp nearby. Gloin made the fire then Bombur started cooking the food. While the stew was being made, Fili and Kili practiced their swordsmanship under the watchful eyes of Thorin and Dwalin to provide guidance. The dwarves had found a log and brought it over beside the fire. You knelt in the grass on the fire’s side parallel to the log. The others were leaning against it on the opposite side, smoking pipes and making jokes and commentary about the training. You pulled out your thread spools and measured out the first color. You realized you didn’t have scissors and asked the merry gathering in front of you if they did.
“Nah lass,” Dori said, “Our weapons aren’t sharp enough to cut thread, they’ll only fray it” He kicked Nori to quiet him when he started to protest the quality of his weapons, “You’ll want to ask Thorin to borrow his sword.”
You swallowed thickly and looked over at the man in question where he stood with his arms crossed next to Dwalin. He always intimated you but approaching him alone to ask a favor made anxiety spike straight through you.
They were several feet away, but the clanging of metal was still quite loud. The brothers had removed their shirts, as men often did, to escape the insulated heat it provided. Not that you were complaining, eye candy is always welcome in a world of forests and furs.
You timidly approached the taller man as he instructed the brothers. You waited till they started fighting again to say in a shy voice: “Um Thorin?”
He glanced at you to acknowledge your inquisition, “Yes, what is it?” He sounded impatient.
“May I please borrow your sword?” You pointed to the weapon strapped to his side, “I need it to cut some thread” You tried not to sound as scared and skittish as you felt. He looked at you blankly for a moment, surprised by your question.
Kili threw his brother back several feet, allowing him a few seconds to turn to you with a confident smile.
“Hey Y/N,” Kili said, making you and Thorin look at him. You couldn’t help but smile and sheepishly blush as you tried not to ogle his ripped upper body dripping in sweat.
“Hi Kili” you swayed back and forth a little without realizing it. Thorin took note of your fond reaction to his nephew.
Fili let out a mighty roar as he jumped on the back of his brother, taking advantage of his distraction. The dwarves on the log laughed and you giggled at them as they goaded each other on.
“I’ve got you now brother!” Fili triumphantly exclaimed.
“I think not!” Kili replied with a strong thrusting attack.
Thorin sighed, “Very well” He untied his sheathed sword from his belt and handed it to you. You thanked him and began walking back to your previous spot. He looked at the line of dwarves who were still chuckling lightly against the log, “Make sure she doesn’t kill herself” he said to them. They all nodded, including Balin who found this ironic remembering their conversation about leaving you in Rivendell. It would seem the dwarf king was taking a liking to you.
You kneeled, unsheathed the great Goblin Cleaver a few inches, and positioned the hilt between your knees, so it stayed standing on its spine. You measured 7 lengths of thread at about three feet and rubbed them against the fine elfin blade which cut them in one pass to make makeshift embroidery thread. You repeated that 5 times to end up with two groups of pink, two groups of blue, and one group of black thread. You did your best to keep them separated as you bunched them together to fold them in half and tie a loop at the end that you could hook onto a button of your coat. You sheathed the sword and returned it to Thorin knowing he wouldn’t like being without his weapon. You sat on the side of the log with everyone else and secured your coat in your lap so you could pull taught against the threads. You separated the threads and began knotting them over and across each other like how you learned to make friendship bracelets at summer camp. It gave your hands something to do as you sat idly watching the boys trash talk then turn serious and start fighting again.
“What are ya makin’ Y/N?” Ori asked as he watched you.
“I’m making a bracelet” You replied, pleased to see the others taking an interest in your crafting.
“Why’s that lass?” Bifur leaned over to see what you were doing exactly.
“So I can eventually make one for everyone else” You explained how it’s a tradition of sorts in your world to make bracelets for those you care about as a show of kinship and the enduring strength of your friendship and bond. “Since I can’t fight beside you all on the battlefield yet, I thought this could be another way I show my commitment to the company” You smiled at the group. You’d grown very fond of them during your travels and hoped they enjoyed your company as much as you did theirs.
“That’s a very sweet tradition, Y/N,” Balin said, “We look forward to receiving your gifts” The rest of the dwarves confirmed it with ‘Aye’s and a strong nod of the head.
“Supper!” Bombur called while stirring the pot. Everyone got in line except the training group who was going one last round. You all sat down in your previous spots along the log to see the finale of the night’s training.
You finished your dinner quickly so you could take advantage of the distracted troublemakers as well as the river on the other side of the hill. You grabbed your bag and told Gandalf you were going to the river to wash up. You knew he’d keep an eye on the dwarf who often followed you like a puppy and missed you when you weren’t by his side.
You see, Kili had to share most of his things with his brother; toys, motherly attention, food, and this included the women he was interested in. They usually fell for Fili because he was more mature, older, and looked more dwarfish than Kili who had very fine features for a dwarf and was five years younger than his brother. He initially assumed it would happen again with you, so when you didn’t show any interest in his brother, only in him, he couldn’t put into words how happy it made him.
At the river’s edge, you placed your bag and makeshift towel (your shirt from your old world) on a rock and took off your clothes. The water was chilly but nothing a sit by the fire couldn’t fix. You washed your hair and body with the elfish soap you got in Rivendell. As you rinsed in the steady current of the water your thoughts began to wander to what Gandalf said about your predicament.
You felt pulled to Kili, he brought comfort and calmness to a feeling you didn’t even know was in need. His smile and his laugh, every memory and moment you made and shared with the handsome prince of Erebor begged you to stay in Middle Earth.
It was decided then.
When you stood to squeeze the water from your hair you noticed the sun was beginning to set. The others would want to bathe too, or at the very least wash their hands. You dried off and dressed and took a deep breath to enjoy the welcomed privacy one last time.
You reappeared beside the wizard, “Thank you, Gandalf, that was very much needed” You sat next to him on the ground in front of the fire to warm up. “I may be traveling with brutes, but I needn’t smell like one” You joked. He chuckled over his pipe at this.
“I’ve decided to stay here Gandalf.” You informed him. “Something about this place is calling me to stay.” You needn’t tell him about the intense pull to Kili, right?
“Splendid my dear,” He smiled fondly at your decision. “I’m sure you’ll find Middle earth rather agreeable.”
You smiled up at him, happy to have his support.
The boys were still going at it. Kili was making a great effort, but Fili got the upper hand, making Kili’s sword fly out of his hand and sail through the air to stick in the ground. Kili kept fighting though, trying to get Fili’s sword from him. Fili had to force him to the ground with his arms pinned before Kili surrendered.
“Good job lads, good work,” Thorin said as he helped them up. Coins were exchanged against the log from the bets the company members made. The boys started walking towards their bags, but Kili swerved at the last moment to approach you. Your hair was still slightly damp from the river, so it was obvious you’d just bathed. Being the mischievous sweaty dirt-covered mess he was, Kili held his arms out to you for a hug. You watched him in horror as he continued to walk towards you.
“Ew, no Kili stop!” You held your hand up to stop him but to no avail.
“Awe Y/N, just one hug?” Kili pleaded with puppy dog eyes.
You quickly stood and laugh a little at his persistence, “Don’t you fucking dare!” you said and dashed away.
“Come on Y/N, no need to play hard to get!” Kili strained as he chased you around the log and back toward your bags.
“Aaahh!” You made a sharp turn to narrowly avoid a grimy Fili, who stepped in your path, the little shit. This closed the gap so Kili could grab your arm and pull you toward him.
“Nonononononono!” you pleaded as he wrapped his beefy arms around your shoulders, making sure to rub his sweaty dirty face against your hair and pet the side of your face with his equally dirty hand. “Kili!” you drew out the last syllable in complaint.
“You smell so good” He had the nerve to say.
“You smell like Ori’s unwashed socks!” You pushed at his chest still trying to get away. Everyone chuckled at this. “Get off me, ya big olaf” you managed to wriggle out of his grasp, “I’m not coming anywhere near you till you bathe,” you said dead serious, and pointed to the river.
“As you wish” Kili bowed with a smirk, he grabbed his bag on his way to the river to join his brother. You sat in your by the fire with a small smile that seemed permanent whenever you were around him.
You were working on your bracelet when the brothers returned. The sun had dipped below the horizon making darkness seep into the crevasses of the world. Kili sat behind you on the same long stone Gandalf was perched on and touched the ends of your miraculously dry hair (the elvish soap is magic idk). You stiffened at the unexpected but not necessarily unwelcome contact.
“Can I braid your hair Y/N?” he asked innocently as pink dusted his cheeks. You whipped around aggressively, pulling your hair out of his hand in the process.
“No cause you’re just going to get it all tangled and I’m going to have to spend all night brushing it out!” You weren’t looking forward to that, you thought he was just trying to prank you. Kili’s pout was as cute as ever.
“My dear,” Gandalf budded in before Kili could sulk away, “Braiding hair in dwarfish culture is similar to your tradition of making bracelets for friends, but they take it much more seriously.”
“How much more seriously?” You asked, intrigued about the nature of Kili proposition.
“It’s like…” The wizard took a draw from his pipe while he thought of the words to properly explain it to you, “asking someone to dance, it’s special and a more intimate way of getting to know someone.”
“So, like a date?” You tilted your head in question. You understood his analogy; braiding allows both people to show their level of craftsmanship and commitment, with the added benefit of practicality and looking very nice in the end when done with love and care.
“A bit” Gandalf smiled at your naiveite, “Just know our dear Kili is not trying to prank you when he asks to braid your hair, quite the opposite” He took another draw from his pipe and looked back at the fire.
“In that case, you may braid my hair Kee” You flipped your hair back over your shoulder. You couldn’t see the beaming smile that grew on his handsome face. You dug through your bag to find the hairbrush and other trinkets from Rivendell which you handed to Kili. He kept them in his lap while he brushed your hair. If he came across a knot, he was sure to be incredibly gentle. You enjoyed the physical contact and attention very much.
“Any requests?” He asked sounding confident in his abilities.
“Whatever you think would look best” You couldn’t help but smile a little.
He used your brush to part your hair down the middle. He started braiding at your nape closest to the part. After that you didn’t pay very much attention to what he was doing, instead just relished the experience.
He finished one side and secured it with a bead from your stash, “How’s that feel, too tight?”, he asked and adjusted pieces here and there to make it lay perfectly.
“It feels great!” You chirped happily. You reached a hand to feel what he’d done so far but he shooed it away.
“Not yet, you’ll ruin the surprise!” He started working on the other side.
By the time he was done, you were so relaxed you’d almost fallen asleep on his leg.
“Done!” he said, you could tell he was very pleased with his work, “How do you like it?” He sounded a bit nervous.
You ran your fingers over the braids, feeling how they turned and curved at certain points and went straight in others.
“Kili this is amazing!” You said, very happy with the state of your hair. He let out a breath he didn’t realize he was holding. “Thank you!” You looked back at him with a smile that was as big as his.
“I’m afraid I can't properly reciprocate though, I don’t know how to braid hair like this, I can only do normal braids.” You regretted never having learned how to French braid now more than ever. “If that’s how this works” You quickly corrected in a slight panic.
He was elated you wanted to return his deed at all, “That’s fine!” He tried not to sound too excited and be cool about it, “I can teach you if you want” he offered.
“I’d appreciate that!” You smiled.
You switched places, so he was sitting between your legs facing the fire. The position was innocent, but his thoughts were anything but. Images of your face beautifully contorted in pleasure from his tongue exploring your most private and intimate parts were most welcomed.
“May I take this out?” you lightly touched the silver clip that held his hair out of his face.
“Sure” He happily shrugged. You dug through his brown hair where the clasp was supposed to be, but your trembling hands couldn’t find it in all his hair.
After he heard you huffing and puffing and hadn’t felt his hair fall from the clip he asked in a soft voice, “Do you need help?”
“Yes,” you sighed, embarrassed you couldn’t even get a damn clip undone. He reached back, and struggled for a few seconds but undid the clasp, and handed it to you.
While you brushed his hair you thought of what you should do to it, or more what you could do with his hair given your limited abilities. You brushed through a few knots if any.
“I think I know what I want to try to do,” You touched the sides of his head just above his temple, “I want to do two small braids on the sides of your head, but I want the topmost part of your hair not to be braided.”
“Let’s try it!” He explained how you needed to part the hair and how to get started. You had his head lying against your thigh in an admittedly awkward and uncomfortable position, but he was quite the trooper. You had to restart the first braid three times but, in the end, he talked you through it and you tied it off with a bead.
“How did you learn to braid so well” you asked, struggling to grip all the pieces of the second braid properly and not pull the strands out of his head.
“My mother was insistent I learned. She knew my brother would have no trouble learning this facet of courting, but she feared I would spend all my time shooting arrows and never learn how to properly court girls.” He talked fondly of the memories, “So one summer when I was about to come of age, I came home from running amuck every day and she’d sit me down at her tapestry’s and make me braid the tassels that ran around the border.”
“Were you any good?” You asked curiously.
“Oh yes, I was very good! For a while, I was even better than Fili!” He was very proud of that.
“Why did he get better than you? Lean forward please,” you politely asked.
“He’s quite the lady’s man, so he had plenty of girls to practice on,” Kili sounded like that brought up memories that weren’t very pleasant. You finished the second braid with a bead like the first.
“Lay your head down for me again” You softly asked, gingerly guiding his head to lay against your other thigh, “Awe, baby Kili didn’t get any coochie did he” You fake pouted to tease him, gently scratching his scalp absentmindedly while you rested your neck for a moment. He liked it, more than he’d care to admit. “I’m in the same boat I’m afraid” You parted the other side of his hair.
“Oh? How so?” He was very surprised by this, “I’d have thought men were practically throwing themselves at you.” This made you laugh and blush.
“I’m awfully flattered you think that highly of me…” You took a moment to focus on a particularly difficult part, “But men from my world didn’t talk to me.”
“I find that completely unbelievable.” He was floored by this.
“I’m serious! I was never asked out on a date and the few times I asked for someone’s number they turned out to be self-centered losers with a ton of issues” You hated how much time you’d wasted on them. He couldn’t wrap his head around that and had to hold his tongue from proclaiming his thoughts of your perfection.
He turned to look at you despite your protests, “Then they are truly blind,” He couldn’t have been more sincere. His eyes blazed in the firelight with a mix of ferocity and sadness on your behalf.
“Thank you, Kee,” You smiled at him. He assumed his previous position so you could end the braid with a bead like the two before and then started on the last one, “And those silly girls are truly blind as well.” You wanted to kiss his slightly flushed cheek.
You were both in your own little world, where the troubles of the outside couldn’t get to you…or the onlookers and peanut gallery for that matter. Gandalf had moved to sit with the company who had been watching from across the fire on the other side of the log since Kili finished your first braid. They couldn’t quite hear your conversation, but they knew their beloved Kili was having the time of his life.
Fili was very proud of his brother. He talked about you all the time, was looking at you all the time; the man was whipped. Fili had to hear about you the entire time he was bathing, poor thing, and he finally got fed up with his brother not making a move.
“Kili, just ask to braid her hair for god’s sake” Fili huffed while he waited for his brother to finish in the river. Kili’s eyes lit up like a forge with the breath from bellows, and his face flushed like he did when he hammered out a new blade.
“I think I will,” Kili nodded, distracted by thoughts of engaging in such an informal and somewhat intimate act.
Thorin was very pleased you were trying to repay his nephew’s advances in equal measure. He’d seen the poor boy flounder with crushes in the past as he tended to be immature, and girls mistook that for uncaring and unable to provide. Something about you brought out the best in his nephew though, he’d never seen him act so mature, for this Thorin was willing to stay some of his distrust and pessimistic opinions about outsiders, at the very least about you.
By the time you finished the last braid, Kili had made himself very comfortable against your leg, with his arm wrapped around your calf, fidgeting with the laces of your boot. He looked so tranquil you hesitated to tell him you’d finished, not ready to leave the sanctuary you were in. You leaned back against your hand while you stared into the fire and gently scratched the nape of his neck.
He hummed half asleep, “Mmm that feels good,” His words were a little slurred, but it made him all the cuter.
You stayed like that till your bottom began to protest the hard rock beneath you. He was right on the cusp of sleep when you shook your leg beneath him, gentle with guilt.
“Kili, I gotta get up,” You softly tried to rouse him. He hummed in protest. “Besides, don’t you want to know how the braids turned out?” You admired your work with pride.
He sat up and stretched to wake his muscles then ran a hand over his new braids, “Wow Y/N! These are so good!” He looked back at you impressed, “You picked up on that fast!”
“Thanks, Kee!” You blushed as you ran a hand over the intricate lines in your hair, “They aren’t half as good as yours, but I think I did great for my first time” You smiled, pleased with yourself.
“Come show us!” someone from the log called, followed by various iterations of the same thing from others. Ever supportive, they were eager to see what you’d both made.
Kili stood and you followed him to the log. You turned so he could show off his creation. The dwarves were very impressed, a few coming up to inspect closer. When Kili turned to show your work, the company was even more impressed given it was your first time.
“Next time you’ll have to make beads for her, Kee” Fili teased making him and Bofur laugh at how Kili blushed.
“Make beads? What does that mean?” You asked the group in confusion.
“You’ll understand when the time comes,” Thorin said in an uncharacteristically happy tone. “For now, we shall rest” With that everyone began prepping their bedding for the night.
You laid your bed roll beside Kili’s like usual, but Bombur reminded you to clean the dishes before they were put away. Gandalf accompanied you so you could see with the light of his staff. Everyone was asleep when you returned to camp, except Thorin who was on watch.
When you sat on your bedroll, which was naturally next to Kili’s, he looked up at you, barely awake with a dopey smile.
“You look so pretty,” he said quietly, drawing out the last syllable of pretty. Red bloomed over your cheeks and down your neck. He loved your hair like that, he loved it even more that he was the one who did it.
“Go to sleep, Kee,” You whispered so you didn’t wake the others, but couldn’t help but smile as you lay on your bedroll next to him.
“But then I can’t look at you” He pouted, quite distraught about this revelation in his sleepy daze.
“Well, no, I suppose you can’t…” You nibbled your bottom lip as you thought of a solution, “Would holding hands appease you, sleepy prince?” you asked and held out the hand that wasn’t cuddling your coat to your chest. He was too out of it to catch your nickname for him. He nodded and held your hand in his, making both your hearts beat just a little faster.
You closed your eyes and rubbed your face against your coat to find a comfortable position. You could feel his eyes on you.
You opened your eyes to see him staring directly at you, “Good night, Kili” you said in a strong nonnegotiable tone.
He hummed and smiled and closed his eyes, “Good night, Y/N.”
~~~
Kili felt your hand grow tighter around his, drawing him from sleep. Then he felt you pulling against it like you were trying to alert him to danger in the camp without making a sound. He opened his eyes ready for war and saw no danger. He looked at you confused but realized you weren’t awake. You were whimpering and mumbling as your head thrashed from side to side.
‘She’s having a nightmare’ he quickly thought. He squeezed your hand and gently shook it.
“Y/N” He tried not to let his worry raise the volume of his voice, “Wake up.”
You didn’t respond, your mumbles turned into clear pleas for help, making him fret even more.
“Y/N!” He shook your shoulder vehemently, “You need to wake up” He had an urgency in his voice. You feebly fought against his hold on your shoulder.
“Please!” you gasped, still breaking from the nightmare when you opened your eyes, “No, please let go!” You begged and continued to push against his hand with tears in your eyes, not knowing who he was while sleep still clouded your vision and mind.
“Y/N, Y/N look at me” he moved his hand from your shoulder to the side of your neck and cheek to call your attention to him, “It was just a dream, you’re safe now.” When you met his eyes, he recognized just how rattled you were.
You were breathing rapidly, and tears were making your eyelashes sparkle in the firelight. He could feel your rapid heartbeat where his hand laid over your pulse point. He could tell you were beginning to wake up because you softly uttered his name and the hand that was fighting his on your neck gently wrapped around his wrist.
“You’re safe, I promise,” His eyebrows were pinched together in worry. You nodded and took a deep breath to try to keep the tears away. It’d been a very long time since you’d had a nightmare that bad.
Kili pulled your bedroll closer to his, “Come here,” He gave you a hug to comfort you, “Do you want to tell me about it?” he asked when you pulled back from the hug too look at him. You laid your head on his upper arm and kept your cuddle coat close to your chest.
“I-I was in a forest at night and there were goblins and orcs and Wargs coming to attack me and-” You were talking quickly, the bad dream still too real, “and I was all alone and I couldn’t defend myself…” You trailed off, the waver in your voice making it hard to talk. “I was so scared, Kili,” You tried to curl into yourself.
“Hey hey hey, look at me” He held the side of your face again, “You’re safe,” he said. You took a deep breath and nodded. “I’d never let anything happen to you, aye?” He promoted you to get you out of your head. You took another deep breath and nodded.
“I’m ok” you repeated “I’m ok.”
“Yes, there ya go!” He nodded, relieved you were coming around. His thumb swept over your cheek to wipe a tear. You took a few minutes to calm down. Kili was falling asleep, but he needed to know you were going to be ok.
“Thank you, Kee,” you said, your whispered voice no longer shaking with fear, he gave a hearty nod in reply before he yawned. His arm was going numb where your head was lying on it, but it was worth it when you rubbed your face against it to get comfortable as you did in that way, which he found utterly adorable. You appreciated the physical comfort you would have never had in your world.
“I’ll teach you how to fight tomorrow” he whispered over a yawn, his eyelids getting heavy again. He moved his hand from your neck to hang over your waist. He wanted to pull you into him, so you’d feel protected on all sides, not for any other selfish deeply personal reasons of course, but he didn’t want to make you uncomfortable.
“I’d like that very much,” you smiled and watched as he fell back asleep, not snoring but breathing heavily in that way which you found so adorable. You felt safe with his hand on your waist and fell asleep not long after him with thoughts of training together dancing behind your eyes.
Fic authors self rec! When you get this, reply with your favorite five fics that you've written, then pass on to at least five other writers (except me because obvs I have done it). Spread the self-love ❤
Tumblr media
Look at me getting to this 500 years later (I'm so sorry!!) Anyway.
Thank you both so much, @cilil & @laurfilijames for sending me this ask game thingy!! I figured I'd just do it in one post, so I hope that's okay, but here we go!
I think picking my "favorite fics" of mine is like, asking a parent to pick their favorite child - not easy, in most cases I guess lol...but I will do my best and explain why! These are all based off of fics I've COMPLETED, and by no means reflects on my love and affection for the other stories I've written. I love them all for their own reasons, otherwise I wouldn't have written them.
In no particular order...
May Your Forge Burn Bright - This is THE original longfic from me. I started this back when I was creeping my way out of RP and into fanfiction, and was nothing more than an independent baby writer. (Been writing a long time, just never like this), and the story means so much to me, as well as the commentary from readers along the way. It's still my longest fic to date, and I love a good "alternate first meeting" fic. It's the OG, and you can't replace that.
Dragonhearted - The Hobbit & Beauty and The Beast are my two FAVORITE stories, and mashing them together like this was perfect for me. Dragon!Thorin is such a fun concept for me, and badass Bilbo is another. This setting just WORKS. (Also, did you know @i-did-not-mean-to had a BLANKET made for this fic???)
Kurdu 'abadaz - That's right, I finished this one just recently, and it has easily stolen my heart to being a favorite. The Fix-it fic that I wasn't sure I'd ever be able to write, that went under a LOT of rehashing and had a huge overhaul in the story early on when planning. It turned out so much better than anticipated, and the love for this fic from readers/friends has been overwhelming.
Fuck Thy Neighbor - A VERY FUN ROM-COM STYLE MODERN AU!!! This really had me cackling the entire way through, and like a few other fics of mine, it spawned from a writer's ask game/tag game thing that I can't quite remember. Accidental marriage & neighbors? I love it. It's so funny, and I enjoy rereading it frequently for the laughs.
When Darkness Shines Brightest - Did you know that anything can be made into a Bagginshield Fic? Did you know that this fic spawned from a joke/conversation between @starthecozy and I and then erupted into this really original Hades/Persephone, Nightmare Before Xmas, blended style fic?? Various worlds and environments, powers over elements, and saving homes from a dragon?? The Onion Fic sprouted, and blossomed into one of my favorite stories, and I got to collaborate with Star the entire way through it, and we had SO MUCH FUN!!! Go give it a read, it's really neat!!
Honorable Mentions:
(Take Me Back To) The Night We Met - My entry for THAUC22 (partnered with the amazing @consultingpacha), and one of my FAVORITE concepts. Yet again, another "alternate meeting" style fic, featuring small kids Fili and Kili, rather than adults. What it sets up to at the end of the fic blends into the OG Hobbit story, but with a few small changes that I kind of want to explore one day in a sequel. 👀
Between Vices and Virtues - My entry for TRSB22 (partnered with @mysandwichranaway!!) First of all, I love working with Sandy, it's truly one of my favorite things on this good planet, and I can't wait to do it again - hopefully soon. Secondly, this was my take at a modern royalty AU, and learning about how to connect with the people around you. I have two sequels planned for this universe (even if this fic kind of felt like a let-down in terms of reception? but idc about that lmao) it was so fun for me. A light dusting of magic superstition in a modern au setting? Sign me up!
Accidentally started thinking about how Dain was never meant to be king. He never wanted to be king.
And yet he had to be, because everyone died. Thror, Thrain, Thorin, Fili, Kili, all of them.
Dain showed up for a good fight then suddenly it’s his job to pick up the pieces. Suddenly he’s got to mend alliances, forge new ones, and take care of an entire mountains worth of grieving wounded dwarves, not to mention their allies. He’s got to send messages back to the blue mountains explaining the situation. He’s got to tell Dis. He’s got to send messages back to the iron hills telling them he’s not coming home.
All while grieving his cousins and the hope for the future.
“I should really go and wash now…”
Kaia murmurs this as she lies beside the two Durin princes. Her eyes are closed, but her other senses are all she needs to ground her.
The warmth radiates from her two lovers bodies as they brush their arms over her body. Kili lies on his side, playing with her tangled and messy hair. Fili was practically asleep, his breath coming out in even puffs as he presses his face against her shoulder.
“Stay with us…” Kili whines, kissing her cheek.
“If I stay with you any longer, I won’t be able to leave you all night…” Kaia groans.
“You say that like it’s a bad thing.” Fili chuckles, nuzzling his nose along the skin of her bicep.
“It is if I don’t want to smell like sweat and sex for the next day of travel.”
“Again, you say that like it’s a bad thing!” Kili laughs, looking at her profile with starry eyes. “But you’re right. You deserve to have a wash, you’ve taken care of us so well…”
“Damn straight.” Fili whispers, shuddering slightly as he drags his fingers over her collarbones.
“Alright, I’m getting up, before we start all over again.”
With great effort on her part, Kaia sits up. The two princes try weakly to get her down, but give up when she continues rising to her knees.
More of the prince’s spend seeps out of her, dripping down her thighs.
Kaia groans at the feeling, looking around for her undergarments to try to keep some of her dignity when she ventured back to the group.
But they were nowhere to be seen.
“Which one of you has taken them?”
“What?” Kili asks.
“My underwear.”
“We haven’t taken them. What do you think we are, delinquents?" Fili chuckles, although he looks like he is considering it.
Either one or both of the princes were lying… or someone else took them.
The thought of one of the other dwarves sneaking over during their tryst, and stealing her underwear… it shouldn’t have turned her on, but it did.
And she knew exactly who took it…
Nori.
Kaia chuckled to herself, shaking her head at her shameless kleptomaniac friend.
“What’s so funny?”
“Nothing.” Kaia sighs, standing up, her skirts falling around her. She looks over at the two Durins, who were staring up at her with adoring eyes. “I love you both.”
“We love you too, Amrâlimê.” Kili says, his smile so sweet it was infectious.
“So much.” Fili agrees, winking at her. Kaia giggles, securing her boots back onto her feet.
The elder Durin looks over at his brother, nodding towards Kaia. His brother gives him a questioning look, and Fili nods over at her again, raising his eyebrows.
“Fili, what- ow!” Kili rubs his thigh where Fili kicked him, then it dawns on him. “OH!”
Kaia giggles as Kili rushes to stand up, stumbling over himself as he makes sure his clothes are right and his hair isn’t sticking up on it’s ends.
With a deep breath, he takes a step towards her.
“Kaia, Amrâlimê…” Kili starts, taking her hand in his own, “I have fallen in love with you. My body and soul belongs to you, as I’m sure you are aware now… Would you do me the honour of wearing my braid, and courting me?”
He reaches into one of his pockets, taking out a small wooden bead. Kaia gasps, accepting the braid into her palm. She admires the ornate details carved into the small dark brown bead. Letters she recognises as Khuzdul and symbols which are beautiful and intricate.
“It’s.. uh, it’s not much!” Kili stammers, taking her staring at it as her disappointment, “I wanted to wait until we reclaimed Erebor and had access to the forges, but my heart told me to make you one while we travel… I know it’s very soon, but…”
“Kili, shush.” Kaia giggles, throwing her arms around his shoulders. His own arms immediately wrap around her waist, and his body sags in relief as she presses a kiss to his temple. “I would be honoured to court you.”
Kili leans his head back, pressing a hand to the top of her head before he pulls her into a deep kiss.
“Maralmizi…” He groans against her lips, holding her waist and head firmly but gently, as if she were as precious as the finest jewel in his hands.
“I’ll court you, as long as I can keep having both you and your brother to keep me warm!” Kaia says cheekily, nipping at his neck.
“Sounds good to me!” Fili calls to them, and she see him sitting back with his arms behind his head, oozing confidence with a shit-eating grin on her face.
“You could fuck the entire Company and I would still love you, Arsûnê.” Kili growled, “In fact, the thought of that alone makes me want to take you all over again…”
The young prince’s hand slides down her body, grabbing her ass cheeks roughly. She squeals, and he captures her lips into his own, biting down onto her lower lip.
“Oh for the love of Mahal, Kili, let the girl go and bathe!” Fili laughs, climbing to his knees to extract Kili from Kaia.
“Oi, shut up! You’re not her One…"
“No I’m one of her Many.” Fili drawls his arms encircling her waist.
“Ooh, did you just come up with that, your highness?"
“Yes, I’m clever like that.” Fili presses a kiss against her clothed stomach, before taking both her hands in each of his, distributing a kiss on each of her knuckles. “Now go, bathe, get that hair ready for Kili’s braid and that beautiful body for me to devour…”
Kaia gasps, and Fili gives her a devilish smile.
As she rushes off, she catches the two brothers talking.
“Hey! How come you get to pleasure her down there again? You’ve already down it once!” Kili exclaims, and she can hear Fili make a noise.
“Mahal, Kili, did you not?!”
Kaia chuckles to herself as their bickering continues.
-
Coming to a clearing not too far from her lovers, she finds the lake.
The moon is high above the trees, bathing the waters in pale light. The air is cold, but Kaia’s body is still burning with the ministrations of her prince’s.
But, she begins to grow cold, and her anticipation for a good clean has her practically giddy.
She was suddenly thankful for her clothes being half hanging off of her, as it took a quick tug and a pull for Kaia to be as bare as the day she was born.
Readying herself, she jumped and dove into the water.
The cold was invigorating, shocking her system from being in a tired, post orgasmic thrum, into full energy.
Kaia floated to the surface, tugging her hair from her face, and over her shoulder. She ran her hands through the long tresses, separating the knots and cleaning out the dirt and grime which had lingered for far too long.
As she played with her strands, she thought about the courting braid she would soon wear. Kili’s courting braid was tucked in her skirt pocket, waiting for her hair to be ready and Kili to plait it into said hair.
It felt so intimate, so personal, so romantic.
And very right.
Kaia was unwilling to begin a relationship with the young prince, though she felt a pull to him she had never felt before. Resentment hit her for the fact that she harboured feelings and desires for not only Kili, but for his brother, and his uncle, and Dwalin, and Bofur… and, I mean, if we are keeping count, she wouldn’t kick Nori or Bifur out of bed…
But now, her soul was free. She could be with Kili, belong to him fully, as much as he belonged to her. And she would enjoy Fili too… and perhaps the others…
“Oh, Mahal…” A quiet voice exclaims behind her.
Kaia turns around, her eyes landing first on a familiar strange hat, lowering down onto the kind face of Bofur, which was currently lacking its usual goody smile, and was sporting a bright blush beneath its moustache.
“Hi, Bofur.” Kaia says, smiling innocently at him.
Bofur does not meet her eyes. He seems to be unable to decide where to look. His eyes seem drawn to look over her exposed, wet flesh, but he was clearly uncomfortable about leering at her. “Uh… hi, lass.”
Kaia bit her lip, stifling a big grin at his flushed appearance and husky voice. His hands flexed besides him, and he shuffled awkwardly, completely short-wiring.
He was so… Bofur, even in this situation. Goofy, adorable, but handsome in his own wat. Bofur’s brown eyes flicker up to hers, and the sight of his blown out pupils and his dark eyebrows slightly creased makes Kaia clench her thighs beneath the water.
Wow, I am insatiable tonight. Maybe I am part dwarrowdam…
 “Is everything okay, sweetheart?” Kaia asks, her voice teasing as she feigned innocence, dragging her fingers through her hair, before drawing her fingertips over her chest.
Bofur’s eyes follow the movement, and he swallows thickly, hypnotised by the movements of her digits as well as the movements of her heaving chest.
“My apologies for intruding on you, Kaia. Nori told me about the lake, he said you were last to go but that had been a while ago, I expected you to be long gone…”
“I got… held up… I can leave if you want?” Kaia lets her hair fall around her as she begins rising out of the water, the tops of her breasts breaking the surface of the water.
The dwarves eyes follow her for a second, mouth hanging open. But just before her nipples can be exposed to the air, he turns around, shaking his head.
“No, no, lass it’s fine! You go right ahead, I’ll wait until you’re done!” His voice is higher than usual, and she can hear how his breath is coming out quickly. He shifts on his feet, and Kaia wonders if he's hard.
The thought makes Kaia wasn’t to dip her hands between her legs, taking her clit between her fingers as she imagines Bofur’s skilled, musical tongue playing her like his flute. What could he do with his hands, how big was his cock…?
“Don’t be silly, the lake is big enough for the both of us…” Kaia says, swimming backwards slightly. It was true, the lake was large. Big enough for a human and a dwarf to wash with a comfortable distance between them.
Although, with the way her cunt is throbbing, Kaia believe she may have an obscured idea of what is “comfortable”…
“I… I couldn’t lass. Truly… it would be improper-”
“Oh, hi, Dori! Why are you wearing Bofur’s hat?” Nimue chuckles, sarcasm drips from her voice.
Bofur turns his head around to give her a half-assed glare. As his eyes travel down to where her body disappears into the water, he swallows thickly. His Adam’s apple disappears beneath his scarf, and Nimue wants to grab it off of him to gaze at more of his throat.
“Alright, lass… if you are sure…?” Bofur asks, turning around to look at her. “You should know I’m as hard as a rock right now, if that makes you feel uncomfortable.”
Kaia laughs heartily at this. There’s the Bofur she adores, him and his inability to keep his words inside his head.
“If you don’t get in here in the next minute, I might have to drag you in.”
Bofur stares at her, completely frozen for a minute. He makes a choked sound, and nods.
“Yes, ma’am.”
Ooh, she liked that.
He began to take off his scarf, making Kaia grin in satisfaction. As he placed it on a nearby rock, he narrowed his eyes and eyed her.
“Are you going to eye me the entire time?” He asks, trying to seem annoyed but the feeling of her eyes on him makes his stomach twist into pleasant knots.
“Perhaps.”
“Something tells me the conversation from earlier really struck a chord in you, lass.”
“Perhaps.”
“Are you going to keep giving my cryptic answers to my questions?”
“Perhaps.” Nimue gave him a smirk, pursing her lips as he gives her another glare.
“Har har.” He says dryly, rolling the ‘r’s in a way that made Kaia feel all kinds of things.
Bofur kept undressing, taking off his coat, and his gloves. He stripped more and more layers, and Kaia bit her lip as he exposed more of his skin.
He was big and beefy the way dwarves usually are, but had a good amount of muscle underneath his skin. Dark hair covered his chest, and he had a fierce happy trail which ended above his long johns.
“Like what you see?” Bofur asked, his tone joking but there was a hint of insecurity in the question which made Kaia want to jump out of the lake and wrap her arms around him.
“Very much.” She says, her voice drawing out the syllables.
Bofur smiled wolfishly, looking down as a blush deepened the colour in his cheeks.
“Stop teasing and take it all off, Bofur.” She growled out his name, and he flushes red at the command in his voice.
He pushes down the last piece of fabric covering his lower half, and before she can get a proper peak, he holds one of his big hands over his crotch. He gives her a cheeky smile, wiggling his eyebrows.
“Tease.” Kaia grumbles.
“I’ll show you mine if you show me yours.” Bofur winks.
“I’ll do you one better.” Kaia smiles slyly, and she closes her eyes as she stretches herself out in the water, “Touch me and feel what you are missing out on…”
There is a second of silence, before a loud splash erupts around her. Within seconds, Kaia is swept up in two big, strong arms and lifted up. She gasps, and wraps her legs around a solid body which presses itself against her.
Kaia opens her eyes, and giggles as Bour looks at her with a bright smile and kind eyes.
And he’s still wearing his hat.
“I knew the hat would be the last thing you take off.” The human lass chuckles, shaking her head with a fond smile.
“Oh, so you think this is coming off?” Bofur wiggles his head around, making the flaps jiggle.
“You and that hat...”
“You love it.” Bofur holds her closer, his eyes focused on her lips.
Taking his hint, Kaia reaches down and presses her lips to his.
She is rewarded instantly by him groaning against her lips. She slips slightly in his arms, and her heat bumps against something hard and heavy between them.
Bofur gasps, lifting his head away as he looks into her eyes.
“I did warn you.” Bofur chuckles, looking away sheepishly.
Kaia hums, tracing her lips over his cheek. She scoots her hips slightly, welcoming the feel of him pressed against her.
Bofur makes a choked noise, pulling his head back to look at her.
“Not here.” He says quickly, his eyes blown out with lust.
With a quick movement, he pulls them from the water, carrying her over to the bank to lay her down.
Bofur leans back on his heels as he admires her, his eyes wide and chest heaving as he looks over her wet, beautiful body.
She herself stares at him, eyes raking down his bulky dwarvish form until she finds what she has been desperate to see.
Kaia gulps at the sight.
As with all the dwarves, apparently, Bofur is very well endowed. His cock is hard and heavy, with a light curve to the left which makes her clit spasm. Without thinking, her hand draws between her legs, and she flicks a finger over the small bud at the sight of Bofur’s impressive member.
At the sight, Bofur’s cock twitches. He shivers, and groans.
“Mahal maharuma…” The hatted dwarf murmurs to himself, and he drags his own hand down his length at the sight of her, spread legged and touching herself. His other hand glides along her thigh, touching her so gently as if she may break.
That won’t do.
Kaia sits up pressing into Bofur’s chest to kiss him, tangling their tongues as Bofur gasps, biting down onto her bottom lip.
He lets Kaia guide him so he is lying down on the bank below, and she straddles his torso.
Kaia leans forward, grinding her lower regions against Bofur’s bare stomach as she takes his hands in her own. Bofur gasps slightly, looking up into her eyes. He looks up at her with such a gentle, adoring expression, filled with desire which was not the same fiery lust that Fili’s had, nor the sweet eagerness Kili’s had. Bofur was looking at her like she was a goddess.
Overwhelmed by the emotion in his deep brown eyes, Kaia leaned forward, kissing him. He tilted his head, deepening the kiss. His facial hair was tickly, and she chuckled into his lips.
“I’m glad I can make you laugh even here, lass.” Bofur murmurs into her lips, his own smile can be heard through his gentle words.
“Only you can make me feel so comfortable even here, sweet dwarf.”
Bofur pulls back from her, his face positively glowing from his beaming smile.
“You warm my heart, Kardûna.” He whispers, nuzzling her nose with his own.
Bofur’s hand traces along her neck, and she can feel tender flesh there.
Kili and Fili must have marked her up with hickeys.
“Now what happened here? Get attacked by a wild dwarrow?” He chuckles, tickling over the bruised skin.
“Both Kili and Fili have had me already…”
“Had you? In what sense, sweet girl?” Bofur says, a teasing smile on his lips
“Both Kili and Fili have been inside of me.” Kaia says, rolling her eyes, but she feels almost sheepish as she traces circles along Bofur’s chest.
“Mahal maharuma…” The dwarf groans. Kaia would think that it was from disappointment or disgust, but his eyes rolled back into his head slightly, and he hardened even more underneath her.
“Look how quickly you have joined in our wicked ways, starlight!” Bofur smirks up at her, curling a strand of her hair around his finger.
“Mmm, do you want to hear all about it, you naughty dwarf?”
“Fuck, tell me what they did to you...” Bofur groans, grabbing her thighs as his hips bucked up slightly.
“Kili found me in the woods, he was so desperate for me, and I took him in my mouth so eagerly.” Kaia kissed along Bofur’s jaw as she recounted the events of the evening. “When he got close, we lay down, and I took him inside of me. Then Fili stumbled upon us. He pleasured me with his mouth before he fucked me raw.”
“Did they finish in your sweet cunt?” He gasps, gripping onto her thighs.
“Yes, they both did.”
Bofur is breathing heavily now, his chest lifting Kaia up and down with the force of his breaths.
Looking over her shoulder, she could see he was fully hard, pressing up towards his stomach. The head was red and begging for attention. She reached back, wrapping a hand around him.
The groan which erupted from Bofur was animalistic, he seethed through his teeth as he tried to get himself under control.
“Lass, lass, wait a second, please, Ghivashel…” Kaia does as he says, releasing him and resting both of her hands on his shoulders.
“Are you okay, sweet dwarf?”
“I’ve never been so beyond okay, you beautiful minx.” He laughs, reaching his hand up to fix his hat slightly. She nuzzled his neck, revelling in the smell of him. “I want you so badly, Kardûna, but I want to have you slowly. I want to savour the feel of you.”
Kaia moans at this, licking a stripe up his neck. A low rumble erupts out of the hat-wearing dwarf, almost like a purr.
“I want that too, Bofur.” She smiles up at him, and the smile he returns her warms her heart. “I want you as one of my lovers, to have whenever I want, as slowly as I want.” She elongates her words, grinding her wet pussy against his chest.
“Sounds like delicious torture.” Bofur moans, dropping his head back. His hat covers his eyes, and Kaia giggles at the funny sight.
“May I play with your hair, sweet dwarf?”
“If you don’t, I will be sorely disappointed.” Comes his reply, his eyes still covered with his hat.
“We can’t have that, now, can we?” Kaia reaches a hand up, undoing the ties binding his hair together. With gentle fingers, she coaxes them out of their tight knots, and they fall into soft waves around his shoulders. “Mmm, my beautiful dwarrow.”
“Oh, ‘ibin abnâmul, fuck… my beautiful lass.”
“I need you inside of me, my darling.”
“Fuck yourself onto my cock, darling.” Bofur sighs, reaching a hand up to shift his hat back. His eyes twinkle, taking Kaia’s breath away. “Take what you need from me, my sweetest girl.”
Kaia does not need any more instructions.
Stretching up, she lifts her hands above her head. Bofur’s eyes follow her movements, drinking in her body as it writhes above him.
Dragging her hands over her chest, Kaia plays with her nipples, tweaking them and rolling them under her fingers.
“Mahal, Kaia…” Bofur takes his lip between his teeth, his body shuddering beneath her.
“Do you like what you see?” Kaia smiles, repeating Bofur’s earlier line.
“More than you could imagine.” He groans, and he reaches one hand up to graze it over her pert nipple.
Kaia is astonished by how big his hands are compared to hers, his fingers play with her nipples and put her own to shame. She rolls her head back, gasping as he applies the perfect amount of pressure.
“Do you like that, lass?” His soft voice asks, and she nods weakly. “You’re so wet, I can feel you dripping all over me, you dirty girl.”
The way his voice growls out the last bit of the sentence releases another wave of her arousal.
His hands move to her waist, running his hands over her soft skin with his calloused finger tips.
“Are you ready for me, Bofur?” Kaia asks teasingly.
“Lass, if you don’t sit on my cock right now I’m going to spontaneously combust-”
As he speaks, Kaia lifts herself up and shifts backwards, lining her pulsing heat with his throbbing head.
Bofur stops speaking, mouth still open as he gasps at the feel of her.
Kaia grins down at him, as she sinks herself down onto his thick shaft.
Bofur becomes a shuddering mess beneath her, sweat forming across his neck and his forehead. His hands remain on her hips, and she can feel them flex against her skin.
“And to think I’ve been spending myself in my hand all this time.” Bofur sighs, looking deeply into her eyes, “You feel like a dream.”
“What do you think about when you cum?” Kaia asks, her voice erratic as she begins to move on top of Bofur’s dick.
“My hat.” He replies seriously.
Kaia stops moving, and Bofur’s face breaks out into a mischievous grin.
“I fuck my hand thinking it’s you lass, obviously. Now get a move on before I spill myself immediately!”
He’s trying so hard to keep himself at bay, eyes rolling back as she lowers herself further and further onto him, until their hips bump.
“Oh, gods… ugh, fu-uck, lass!” Bofur gasps out throwing his head back. His hat slips over his eyes again, and Nimue lets a laugh escape, but it turns into a breathy gasp as he throbs inside of her.
“I’m going to fuck you slow, Bofur, my sweet dwarf.”
“Please, please!” The hatted dwarf begs, eyes covered by his silly hat.
Raising herself up slowly, she lets him almost completely fall out of her, just the tip remaining trapped inside of her. Then, she rocks forwards, taking him fully once again.
Bofur moans, a deliciously long sound that erupts from low in his throat.
Kaia gasps out as she rocks on top of her sweet dwarf, her cunt fluttering around him in a way which feels heavenly for both of them.
His hands are so gentle as they drag up and down her body, guiding her movements but not pushing her up and down. The control Kaia feels is addicting. Bofur trusts her completely with his pleasure.
Leaning over him, Kaia presses her lips to his own, kissing him long and slow as she uses her hands to assist in her up and down movements along his cock.
Bofur moans against her lips, kissing her deeply as one of his hands comes to rest on the back of her head.
“So good to me, so warm and tight around my cock… fuck, you take me so well, lass…” Bofur’s words are like a song in her ears, surrounding her and filling her body up as good as he cock does.
Kaia can feel her orgasm approaching, the position they’re in has her rubbing her clit over his pelvis with every lift of her hips.
“Bofur… I…” Kaia gasps, pressing her head to Bofur’s neck.
“I can feel you, sweetheart.” Bofur groans, holding onto her back as he gently thrusts into her.
Her orgasm is fast approaching, and she’s practically bouncing on top of him as creeps closer and closer to that beautiful coil snapping-
It hits as Bofur slams his cock up into her, and she grips onto his shoulders as she releases with a high pitched, pathetic mewl.
“Oh, mahal maharuma, you feel so good, please I need to-” The hatted dwarf begs her as his hips stutter against his own.
Bofur, in all of his kindness, does not want to hurt her by fucking her whilst she comes down from her high. But she can feel how his cock pulsates inside of her, he’s on the precipice and, damn it, if she doesn’t want to hear what he sounds like when he cums.
“Fuck, don’t stop Bofur! Let me feel you and your beautiful cock- OH!” Nimue squeals when she feels Bofur plant his feet down.
With a firm grasp in her hair and a hand on her lower back, Bofur begins slamming into her.
He jackhammers her with a speed she did not think possible. The squelching of her cunt is loud as he forces his cock into her over and over again, chasing his own release with at a feverish pace.
Kaia can only grasp onto whatever she can find as he keeps up his unrelenting thrusts.
Being pressed to his chest makes her nipples rub against the coarse hair on his chest, and her clit throbs against his pelvis every time it slams against her.
“Bofur, Bofur, fuck!” She screams out, biting down onto his shoulder as he pulls her down to slam down onto his cock until her brain is… mush.
He groans into her ear, barely forming sentences as all of his words are followed by harsh grunts. “Kaia… fuck…. so good… Mahal…” His accent seems to become stronger and harsher the closer he gets to his own release.
Suddenly, Kaia felt herself cum again. The overstimulation mixed with the pace at which Bofur slams into her sends her hurtling off of the edge for a second time on his perfect, dwarvish cock.
His hips stuttered, and his eyes flew open as he stared deeply into her eyes.
“Please… please, Kaia, pull my hair!” Bofur whines, and she cannot deny him when he sounds so sweet, asking her so nicely.
With a shaky and weak hand, Kaia reached up and dug her fingers under his hat, which was flopping around erratically to match the speed and strength in which he sheathed himself inside of her.
Finding his scalp, Kaia grasped at his thick hair, tugging with all the strength she could muster and licking the sweat forming around his upper lip.
Bofur howled, slamming for a final time up into her as his cock pulsed erratically, filling her with his warm spend. She bounced herself against him to prolonged his orgasm, and he gasped and moaned as she milked him dry.
After a moment, they lay still.
Resting her cheek against his chest, Kaia listened to the thumping of Bofur’s heart as she tried to catch her breath. The world around her was fuzzy around the edges.
“So much for getting clean…” Kaia chuckles, and Bofur looked down at her with a fond smile.
“I’m so I made you so dirty, lass.” He says. Kaia places a kiss against his lips, nudging at his moustache.
“No, you’re not.”
3rd of October: Durin's Day / An Treasamh Latha dhen Dàmhair: Là Dhurin
Tumblr media Tumblr media
English Translation:
In the early years after the dragon came, the Dwarves of Erebor set their eyes on survival. Much was lost to them during this time, cultural and religious customs they failed to sustain in their wanderings.
As soon as they had homes once again, mines to work in and forges to fire, Thorin looked to these things for the final missing piece in their lives. His nephews, growing fast, had never experienced Durin's Day in any way other than that of the Blue Mountains.
He heard Erebor in their speech, saw it in the style of their clothes, and even in the weapons they favoured, but so much of his nephews' cultural references lay elsewhere. He wished for them to understand Durin's Day through the eyes of their own culture.
Thus, ten years since Erebor had seen its last Durin's Day, her people put on a feast in Thorin's Halls the like of which was rarely seen. They worked tirelessly to have everything right: musicians woke up old ballads, bakers brought back old delicacies, and the elders gathered to pass their folktales onto the new generations. The exiles.
Another wound was healed that night, another wrong put right. Thorin watched over the festivities as Fili and Kili learnt how to sing a traditional Erebor hymn and thought of his own childhood.
Finally, everyone came together on the stone slopes before the gates of their halls to watch the last vestiges of the sunset fade from the sky behind them and the autumn moon rise in the eastern horizon. For a precious few minutes, both lights lingered together, before the sun was overcome at last.
Thorin stood with his arm around Dis and the boys by their legs, wide-eyed with their first Durin's Day beads braided carefully in their hair. They were't likely to sleep tonight.
The towering stature of the Misty Mountains blocked it from view, but Thorin knew - could see - beyond their white peaks lay Erebor, bathed in the silver light of Durin's moon.
Maybe he started it, or perhaps they all did so at the same time, but slowly and quietly, their low Dwarven voices rose into the sky with a song of home-sickness on their lips. A mourning song.
Oh, far over the Misty Mountains cold...
Scottish Gaelic Translation:
Anns na bliadhnaichean a chaidh seachad as dèidh don nathair-sgiathach tighinn, thoirt na Troichean Erebor an sùilean air mairsinneach. Chaill iad tòrr tron àm seo, nòsan cultarach is creideamh nach do chùm iad beò anns am fuadan aca.
Cho luath ‘s a bha dachaighean aca a-rithist, mèinnean a bhith ag obair anns agus ceàrdaichean a chuir teinne anns, chaidh Thòrin don rudan seo a’ sireach am pìos mu dheireadh air fhàgail bho am beathannan sa Bheinn Ònaranach. A’ fàs cho àrd a-nist, cha robh na mic a pheathar eòlach idir air an dòigh dhen Là Dhurin ach an dòigh na Beanntan Ghorm.
Chuala e Erebor san dòigh-bhruidhinn aca, san stoidhle aodach, eadhon san arm a bha an dithis measail air. Ach leis na rudan beaga, chunnaic e gun robh sin a’ tighinn bho àitichean eile. Bha e airson ‘s gum biodh iad a’ tuigsinn Là Dhurin tron shùilean an cultar aca fhèin.
Air an adhbhar sin, deich bliadhna seach gun do chunnaic Erebor an Là Dhurin mu dheireadh, chuir an t-sluaigh aice seòin air dòigh nach fhaca iad gu tric anns na Tallachan Thòrin. Dh’obraich iad gu cruaidh airson a h-uile rud a bhith ceart: dh’èirich ceòladairean seann balantan, rinn bèicearan seann biadh fìnealta, agus chruinneach na daoine aosmhor ri chèile airson am beul-aithris aca a thoirt don ghinealaichean ùra. Na fògraich.
Shlànaich gort eile an oidhche sin, rud eile a chuir ceart. Choimhead Thòrin air an subhachas mar a dh’ionnsaich Fìli is Kìli laoidh traidiseanta Erebor a sheinn agus smaointeach e air na làithean anns an robh e fhèin beag.
Mu dheireadh thall, thàinig a h-uile duine ri chèile a-mach air na slèibhtean mu bheul an geata nan tallachan. Choimhead iad air dol fodha na grèine san speur air an cùlaibh, an solas a’ dol às beag air bheag. Agus gealach an foghair a’ tighinn suas san fàire Ear. Airson beagan mionaidean prìseil, dh’fhuirich an dà sholas anns an speur ri chèile mus do dh’fhalbh a’ ghrian.
Sheas Thòrin le a gàirdean timcheall a phiuthar, Dìs, agus na bhalaich ri taobh nan casan. Bha na sùilean drileach aca a’ coimhead mòr, agus bha a’ chiad grìogagan Là Dhurin a bh’ aca air pleatach anns am falt. Cha bhiodh e comasach gun cadail iad a-nochd.
Cha b’ urrainn dha a’ faicinn tro na Beanntan Àird a’ Cheò, ach bha fios aige gun robh Erebor air a seasamh dìreach thar air na mullaichean gheala, lannrach anns an t-solas ghealach Dhurin.
Is docha gun do thoiseach esan e, no ‘s docha gun do rinn iad uile e aig an aon am, ach gu slaodach agus gu samhach, chaidh na guthan ìosal troiche dhan speur le òran chianalais air an bilean.
Ò thar na Beanntan Àird fhuar a’ Cheò...
