It's almost funny how Rhysand can't change the traditional views of Illyrian/CoN men in 500+ years.

but in the Ice Planet Barbarian series, human women get stranded on an ice planet with blue aliens on it, who are basically cavemen, and within a few days they manage to transform the traditional views of the male aliens from woman cook/clean and man hunt/provide to all women are queens and can do whatever they want.

I’m reading a book about uplifted jumping spider and human astronauts and I’m having to profoundly suspend my disbelief on the humans not ever evincing any desire to cuddle the spiders. They are precisely cuddling sized. I’m sure their setae would be unpleasant but the spiders definitely have spacesuits as well and I can’t imagine anything I’d want to carry around in my arms more than a cuddle-sized spider in a spacesuit. Even if it were my colleague.

neglecting ollie’s concern for his hand which caused him to go get his hand checked out BY HIMSELF in a foreign country

cut in the part of ollie saying he wants to go home during supercharger while ollie was hiding by himself and crying EVERY SINGLE DAY because he was so anxious and under so much pressure bc he couldn’t perform as well with his cast

didn’t acknowledge ollie trying his absolute hardest, not even ONCE, to the point where ollie said he even fell asleep in the stairwell once because he had been practicing so late but we saw nothing of any of this? only him saying he wants to go home?

i can't believe how much i keep running into "well that explains this part about czech culture i've been wondering about" while trying to read up on the astronomical clock. in a different timeline maybe i would know these things already! alas i do not.

Jupiter was Králomoc, Mercury – Dobropán, Mars – Smrtonoš, Saturn – Hladolet and Krásopaní meant Venus. The word “Nočena” for the Moon (after the name Luna) seemed quite queer even in the moment of its creation but the other names occasionally appeared in texts or poems of that time. These words “disappeared” in the course of time. Maybe some confessor of mysteries will use them once again, that is also why we remind them.

first of all. INCREDIBLE planet names even if i am a little bit relieved i didn't have to learn them as a kid, because trying to memorise them probably would've made me cry. second if all - is the czech national revival why they made new names for eVERY ELEMENT IN THE PERIODIC TABLE INSTEAD OF USING LATIN LIKE EVERYONE ELSE????? the answer is yes. is it also why every month has its unique czech name instead of deriving from latin also?????
