doing chibi is a good design exercise bc it forces u to think on shapes n essential details, essentially thumbnailing ur designs. its also a terrible design exercise bc it ends up looking cute no matter what

Art raffle for Hanaa's fundraiser

Hello everyone! I am holding a raffle for art commissions slots!

The raffle is to raise money for @enghanalulu's fundraiser, linked below. It has stalled and is very low on funds - currently only 290€ have been raised.

Her fundraiser has been verified by 90-ghost here, and again here. She also has an instagram account where you can see her old posts from way before october 2023. It is so surreal and awful to see her normal ig stories laughing with friends and going to cafés, etc...

You can of course also speak directly to her on here! Every little bit of help means a lot, I'm sure!

Here is a little bit of Hanaa's story. "Hello, I am Hanaa, a graphic designer from the southern Gaza Strip, Al-Bureij refugee camp. I work as a freelancer with agents from the Gulf and Europe to generate a simple source of income that helps and assists my working father who owns a small car workshop." Both Hanaa's office and her family's house have been destroyed in the bombings.

Here's how the raffle works: donate a minimum of 20€ to Hanaa's fundraiser and send me proof of the donation (a screenshot, which must be taken today or after today, until the raffle ends) on here, and I will enter you in the raffle for a halfbody commission (usually 35€). Every 20€ is one "ticket", so 40€ would be two entries so double chance to win, etc. You can also choose to donate 10€ if you want, and win a bust commission (usually 25€). So, if you do donate 20€ and win, you could choose between one half-body commission, or two busts. (I hope this makes sense... I tried working it out in my head but I'm sure when the winners are drawn we will be able to work it out!) The raffle will be going for two weeks, so until October 22nd, and I will randomize 3 winners.

#i'm alive. simply being chewed upon by multiple things #work is more stressful than i'd like it to be. for instance i'm hoping that i submitted my time off notification for tomorrow correctly #because otherwise it might read as a no call no show and i would . like to continue having a job #now to be fair. i do have it on the system that i requested it at the beginning of the month and i emailed my supervisor about it last week #so even if i didn't submit it correctly i'm likely in the clear #but nonetheless. i also got a firm talking-to the other day and now i am on ✨thin ice✨ for dicking around too much #because they track ur idle time at my work (computer) and mine was Quite High so my supervisor was like man what the hell is this #but even though she was kind of baffled at me spending so much time dicking around #she couldn't even really be all that mad in the end because i'm still doing good numbers and have made no (zero) mistakes #so she was just like. it's kind of impressive that your numbers look this good when you literally have 50% idle time #so she goes imagine what you could do if you weren't wasting so much time #and yeah i can whip out some Really Good Numbrers when i put the effort in.#so the problem is not my numbers it's just that i'm not spending long enough doing my tasks for the day #but i don't want to drag out those tasks intentionally so i've just been upping my own standards/goals #as much as i hate giving any more of my brain power than is necessary to giant corporations #it's still easy to feel smug after you get Talked To and then immediately turn around and show off #like yeah i coulda been doing this good the whole time. literally pulling up by 20 points. i just didn't want to.#trying to keep everyone's expectations low but accidentally toed the line of um. not working enough to keep my job #...anyway. Goddamn, MTMTE goes hard on the third readthrough

#mtmte #maccadams #first readthrough is for getting the overall gist of the story #still enjoyable but you spend a lot of time being confused and getting characters mixed up #even more so if you're not familiar with previous idw material #and even more than that if you're not familiar with g1 in general #second readthrough is for re-experiencing the story with the added context of knowing what tf is going on and who's who #much easier to keep track of all the little connections and intricacies #plus you have the added knowledge of where the plot's going so you can properly appreciate like. foreshadowing and stuff #there are some offhand remarks in the first few issues that made me have to physically stop and take a moment #once i realized what they were referring to #anyways #third readthrough is for appreciating all the little details #we already know the forest now it's time to appreciate these trees babey #yeah the main plot beats are great but some of these smaller moments go SO hard #and the craftsmanship of it all? the pacing the layout the Excellent use of page turns. So good for building suspense + getting that Impact #Anyways. fantastic experience. god i love comics #And of course this experience is greatly enhanced if you put several years between rereads #so you have a chance to forget about some of the plot twists until they're right in front of you #thus giving yourself the chance to re-experience those 'OH SHIT' moments #even if it's a bit earlier than you're supposed to

Funny you're talking about the word "power"! In the manga "My Hero Academia", the vast majority of humans have super powers (and even some animals have them). WHAT super power they have varies from person to person, so they decided to call these extremely varied amounts of powers "quirks", as in "They're another quirk you have" since the concept of having a super power is so normal there.
