Gautami Sahu my 9 y old niece from Mumbai India is obsessed with Masterchef AU and detective stories, she wrote this today inspired by her favourite contestants, couldn’t help but share.

One rainy, windy day in Australia, a detective named Ganga received a phone call. She asked, “Hello, who are you?”
A voice which she knew well answered, “My name is Therese.”
“Wait! Therese from.. MasterChef?” cried Ganga.
“Yes,” said Therese. “I have just been eliminated from MasterChef in a Kirsten Tibballs Pressure Test for something which was not my fault. We were supposed to be making a chocolate cake which looked exactly like a chocolate. My cake was very salty. Yet I tasted the batter as it went in and it was sweet.”
“Hmm!” said Ganga. “I’ll just see what I can do. Please give me your address.”
Once this was done, Ganga drove over to Therese’s house. “Show me the sugar which you used,” said Ganga.
“Yes, I thought something might be wrong with it so I brought it home,” said Therese.
Ganga tasted it. It tasted sweet enough. “I’ll bake a cake with this sugar,” announced Ganga. The batter was quite sweet when it went in. Ganga tasted it when it came out. It was disgustingly salty.
“Eeew! Yuck!” said Ganga. Therese tasted it.
“Eeew! Yuck!” said Therese, too. “I’m going to the MasterChef kitchen,” said Ganga, and without another word, she roared off in her car.
When she reached, preparations were going on for the next episode. “What do you want?” asked the person who was setting up the lights. “I wish to speak to the judges,” replied Ganga. “Very well,” he said.
Ganga went inside the tasting room, where the judges were. She said, trying not to be starstruck,
“I believe there has been a sabotage in your kitchen.”
“What! Why? Where!” asked Melissa, frowning.
She answered, “Wasn’t Therese just eliminated because her cake was salty?”
“Yes,” said Jock.
“Her batter was sweet when it went in,” said Ganga.
“Really? How do you know?”
“I made a cake myself with that sugar. The batter was sweet when it went in. The cake was salty when it came out.”
“Oh dear,” said Andy.
“Please investigate,” said Melissa
So Ganga took the remaining contestant’s statements.
Depinder: “Oh no! I think it’s because thirteen is unlucky and it’s Season 13!”
Brent: “Never trust a thin chef. Elise is too thin.”
“Oh, please,” snorted Ganga.
Elise: ”Something was wrong with the sugar. Have it analysed. “
“Yeah, I think I will,” said Ganga.
It turned out that the sugar didn’t have the normal 12 atoms of carbon, 22 atoms of hydrogen, and 11 atoms of oxygen but 5 atoms of carbon, 10 atoms of hydrogen and 15 atoms of oxygen.
“This makes sugar into a chemical compound known as sicroise, which tastes sweet at first but turns salty when baked,” said Ganga to Jock, Melissa and Andy. “Normal sugar is called sucrose.”
“Who put the sugar on the table for the contestants? Therese must have seen that the sugar looked whiter, purer and finer. Perhaps that’s why she chose that bench,” said Andy.
“I noticed that, but didn’t make anything of it at the time.”
“Now our main problem is, who did this?” said Ganga.
“Perhaps Kirsten Tibballs did it.”
“No,” said Melissa firmly. “Kirsten is absolutely trustworthy.”
“Who put the sugar on the table for the contestants?” said Ganga. “He must’ve had some motive. Excuse me.” And with that she swept out and off.
A day later, Ganga called a meeting of all 24 contestants and the judges with social distance.
Ganga said, “ A day earlier, there has been a sabotage in this kitchen.”
A faint murmur of surprise came to her ears.
“Yes. Therese left that day. There were many suspects: Brent, Elise, Depinder, he who laid the tables with the ingredients and she who wrote the recipe, Kirsten Tibballs.
“I decided it could not be any of the contestants when I realized that they were not capable of such anger and hatred towards each other. Melissa told me it could not be Kirsten Tibballs. Surprisingly, it wasn’t he who laid the tables, either.
“It was one who was easy to find, yet who nobody thought of. It was he who printed the recipe, Mr. Rakesh D.” Rakesh D was present in the room.
“What nonsense are you speaking!” he laughed.
“Laugh all you like for you’ll never laugh again. When I interviewed you yesterday, you let slip that you hated Therese. Then you let it slip, you knew a sugar which turned salty when baked. I connected the dots.”
Rakesh was taken to prison.

A beautiful morsel. An open letter to the culinary legends out there. - Why do we eat food in all its myriad variety? We don’t need to consume it to survive, that’s for sure. It’s because we love the process. We love the variety. We love flavour. Vibrancy. We love to be shocked out of the stagnancy of our lives. We love unexpected combinations. We love food to BLOW OUR MINDS. To make us go “Oh my god this tastes SO GOOD.” Imagine being able to achieve that feat through a television screen. I don’t need to taste this beautiful mushroom to know it will be DELICIOUS and that it would blow my mind. Thank you, @reynoldpoernomo , for making me a gourmand and aficionado of the truly delicious. Thank you, @masterchefau , for opening my eyes to the world of food. Thank you for enriching my life, and helping me start on my journey of understanding the beauty and nuances of cuisine. - Can you tell that I’m a food aficionado? If not, just FYI that I am. I’ve had such a change in my relationship with food, because I’ve allowed my wonder for food to become a quest for learning about the culinary world. Thank you for the inspiration and the amazing season so far... @fooderati @zonfrillo @andyallencooks - #masterchef #masterchefau #australia #culinary #magic #reynoldpoernomo #mushroom #wow #thinkingoutloud #writing #blogger #blog #writersofinstagram #writer #leamingtonspa #leamington #royalleamingtonspa #university #unilife #warwick #universityofwarwick #reflection #pictures #pictureperfect #think https://www.instagram.com/p/CCbLuzfl5Di/?igshid=18w2hx417dlx8

Recipe: Jersey Salad — Salad Recipes
Seattle isn't known as a pizza town. But Delancey, the Seattle pizza mecca owned by Brandon Pettit and Molly Wizenberg (of Orangette fame), is simultaneously a regular neighborhood pizza joint and a top destination for the world's fooderati. Go for the thin-crust pies wood-fired to a bubbly crisp, but don't forget the rest of the menu. A seasonal rotation of salads (including their Jersey Salad, created to pay homage to Brandon's New Jersey childhood memories) are a can't-miss.

The future (and the present) is made of equality in every aspect. But these days it's urgent to focus on gender equality, because the world is going nuts on this. Too many violence and disrespect episodes going on against our sisters. The future is women empowerment for a better society. #heforshe @heforshe @heforshecampaign @heforsheofficial @heforshe_college @womensmarch @womenmanagementny @underarmourwomen @womendigitalnomads • • • • • • @focalmark #HypeBeast #vscoportrait #ig_mood #discoverportrait #portraitphotography #profile_vision #bleachmyfilm #postmoreportraits #portraitpage #igpodium_portraits #portraiture #makeportraits #focalmarked #fashionpost #instastyle #fblogger #lookbook #fashionlover #outfitoftheday #ootdshare #lookoftheday #mylook #fashionable #currentlywearing #seeaustralia #exploreaustralia #australiagram #ilovesydney #ig_australia #cityofsydney @fooderati (at Barcelona Capital)

Q: What city do you find most interesting and why?
A: After spending a year and half living in southern Tasmania, I would have to say that I find Hobart interesting. In many ways, it’s probably more of a big town than a city, but the groundswell of creative, innovative doers has begun to transform it into a destination for compelling food and cultural experiences, as well as being on the doorstep of some of the country’s most amazing natural environments. It’s a slow burn, but a city that’s only going to get better the more it evolves.

Where Food Meets Feminism & Paleo Meets Patriarchy
If you're looking for a recipe that addresses how to make the Paleo version of apple pie that'll make your partner think you're 'woman of the year', you will be disappointed, just like I was when I realized I couldn't come up with a better word to alliterate patriarchy to. Nonetheless, let's get to it;       Patriarchy      (ˈpeɪtrɪˌɑːkɪ) n, pl -chies
(Sociology) a form of social organization in which a male is the head of the family and descent, kinship, and title are traced through the male line
(Sociology) any society governed by such a system
As women in the 21st century, we're a lot better off than our ancestors who knew this patriarchy as a way of life. A world where everything from war fare to media was built on male inclinations such as power, aggression and competition. Where women were objectified and only validated when validated by a man. Thank GOD we've come so far! JUST KIDDING. We're still validated and objectified by by a society who could care less about our doctorates, degrees and world domination unless it comes with a size 0 derriere. Interestingly enough, this society only exist because it's validated by women who willingly conform (You, facing the dilemma of the century over whether to choose ice cream or froyo- I'm talking to you). It shouldn't take a whole gender studies elective and 19 years of ignorance to realize how detrimental I've been to my own body freedom movement. Why is it that when a man takes physical control over a woman's body through rape and sexual harassment, we fight it. But when a whole frigging industry takes mental and physiological control over our bodies, we conform? Sometimes it seems so much easier to conform to what seems harmless because ignorance is bliss. But just because we can vote, work and study does not mean we're free. Our chains are now mental. And it's just. as. bad. Personally, I can't even begin to apologize to the women I've ever victimized for instagramming a picture of my raw vegan salad when I know for a fact there are women trying to drop 10 pounds (another result of social conditioning) but can't put down a burger. I apologize for fueling diet industries and buying paleo pastries and gluten free bread when I'm not a cavewoman or coeliac. I'm SO sorry for feeling guilty about eating a slice of pizza at the risk of a "food baby" and BOY am I sorry it took me so goddamn long to realize what I've done to the female body positive movement. Which quite frankly, is a whole lotta nothing. We live in a world where you're shamed, as a woman, for eating too much fast food because its too "fattening" and not because slaughterhouses don't support sustainable living. We live in a world where you're shamed, as a woman, for not "negating what you ate", not because you can't afford all the sugar to get to your brain whilst you try to run the world but because you can't afford to put on half a pound. We, whilst living in this world trying to fight these stereotypes and disgusting beauty standards, conform to it. Myself included.
We hate the beauty industry? We make it. We hate the unbelievable expectations? We conform to them. We're going to raise our daughters to love their bodies? Why can't we love our own? I'm so blessed to be surrounded by smart, intellectual women who know how to stick it to the man and could give less of a full fat, full flavored fudge about what media, Macy's and a man thinks about their bodies. So here's your recipe: Step 1. Remember you are someone's daughter, mother, sister and friend Step 2. Remember your mothers, daughters and sisters have been fighting the power struggle for years Step 3. Remember you owe it to the incredible women of the past and the incredible women of the present to fight societal conventions that pose a threat to your movement Step 4. Stop fueling the diet industry and put your money, time and effort into better things like- oh I don't know- EMPOWERING women. Step 5. Stick it to the man. Feel better about yourself, womankind and the cookie you ate after dinner. Remember, the media makes money off of women like you and me. If we stop buying, they stop making. So the next time you want to empathize with a woman that lost the battle to anorexia, bulimia and depression over not looking perfect enough, put down the low-fat, sugar free, organic apple and say a pray for the world you're bringing your daughters into. The body movement needs a lot more than our hypocrisy.
