yesterday in the airport.... there was a beautiful boy at the krispy kreme counter. when a man has a jaunty attitude while he interacts with me, recent events have lead me to expect the worst but he was chill so while i walked away with my family i wished i had not been like this 😐 .... i wished i had been more whimsical... then i realized i forgot a drink for me so i headed back sans my family and he said can i ask you a question? not trying to be funny. all that black, is it a religious thing or just because you want to ? i said no just because i want to 😊 he then asked where i was from. i said from here! he was still unconvinced. what part? i told him, and my clothing was SO COMPELLING to him he forgot this line of questioning and to CARE about me being from there and he said All the time? so i said sometimes! well it's cold, it's winter! and we parted on those terms . who is as harrowing as me . who is HARROWHARKING like that

#and everybody clapped #but he really did say that trust me guys #i had on a black velvet skirt and coat and flocked velvet floral blouse over a striped black velvet dress shirt and then a flocked velvet #shirt under that. maroon. and leather dress shoes. fun outfit i can't say is common but i didn't know it looked like religious devotion #or warranted comment #im very proud may all my outfits walk the line between fanatic devotion and just wearing that stuff for no reason #i thought of her instantly.... is she goth or is she religious is the Harrow Question to me now #harrowhark nonagesimus #i guess

Going to a funeral today and just now realizing that somehow, despite me being goth, my child has nothing appropriate to wear to a funeral. Her wardrobe is entirely bright colors. The only dark things she has are Halloween themed, which will NOT be appropriate at this particular funeral.

#mine #parenting #i even dug into her 'next size up' clothes but the closest we've got is a semi-dark floral long sleeve shirt #and she doesn't have any skirts except for a rainbow tutu #it might be cool enough for her to wear that shirt with black pants today #otherwise it's gonna be a pink dress with a leia print on it

In a crazy twist, I have purchased. a dress. For the wedding

#its ankle length flowy spaghetti straps with pockets and i can wear it without a bra #its black with a pink floral pattern so i can be beachy and spring-weddingy but still comfortably goth-lite and moody about it #i dont vibe with like 90% of the colours associated with spring - in clothing form anyways #cant do pastels #so this is a nice balance #i also thrifted a banger Hawaiian shirt #and ill see about finding a suit for the reception but stores dont have their spring stuff out yet and i need a more lightweight fabric if #im gonna be wearing this in mexico in april lol #might post a pic of the dress at some point #august talking

My therapist asked if I dressed ironically and I had to assure him that no, I just really like florals

#he said I wear a lot of flowery clothes and ‘funny shirts’#which I mean I don’t even wear a ton of florals. just like a flowery shirt or pair of pants #but I mean… plants look nice. flowers look nice. flowers… pretty #and ‘funny shirts’??? that just hurts #I’ve only worn band shirt and dress shirts. today was a kind of cute Godzilla shirt but I’m not doing it to be ironic #I’m too old to like things ironically #just let me be cringe with sincerity #tbf I’d just told him I’d been goth in high school and I guess he thought that carried over and was me trying to get people’s attention #and I mean I guess a lot of people pick their outfits with some idea of public perception in mind #so I don’t think it’s unreasonable to imagine how others would perceive me #but I dress like a boring dad a lot of the time. not anything exciting #I swear I’m still goth inside.
