Back at it
Been gone for a while. I was in the UK for 3 weeks for conferences + some time in Ireland with my mom for my 30th(: finally back home and ready to get back to the routine. I was very surprised that I did not gain weight while I was gone ? I didn't expect that, considering I was yes walking everywhere but Durham is a big drinking city/culture and there were multiple nights we were out until like 2 am...and then back at the conference by 9, haha.

The main thing right now is just getting back on the wagon with routines. I took it pretty gently last week when I got back. But now I am going to try to commit to a 12-week program that is a merging of my two favorite Caroline Girvan programs: Iron & Fuel. It's great, because I have done Iron soooo many times that even now after a long break I am not super enthused about, and simultaneously this program is spaced out by the really diffucult cardio+weights of Fuel. So ! I should be better able to stick to the program(s) and not get overworked, but able to keep up the 5x a week. The hardest part is the cardio from Fuel, which is now spaced out ever 2 weeks.
I got my husband to join me at the gym last night for the first time ever, and he did Day 1 with me(: he struggled with the lunges (it was leg day and Day 1 is definitely the hardest out of most of the program) but today is Day 2/Arm day. Hopefully he will keep it up and want to join me more, it was kindof cute going together. Shooting for that POWER COUPLE status.
Lots of other cool stuff happening. 1) I'm almost debt free (from credit cards) !!!! I just need to get reimbursed for my recent trip, 2) new roommate(s) who will hopefully be a bit more considerate and clean, 3) it's already basically fall and I'm super stoked about braised meat/stews rn, and 4) post doc apps are coming up and I joined a mentorship program that I think will help a LOT with keeping me on track since I would need things to be submitted and looked at early on. The next few months may be brutal but I think ive got it under control (....for now haha)
