This is my FB timehop from today last year. I need to get back down to this fitness level. It's not about the size, however it is the effect of getting to a desired fitness level. This was just before my weight began to pile on due to a health development that I allowed to get into my head. Add that on top of my spiritual growth process, inevitable weight gain. I'm not obese. I'm not overweight, in my eyes, but I am uncomfortable and I feel heavy within my workouts. When our body feels heavy, it's difficult to move freely which can effect what we attempt to do. I am determined to push hard again. Workouts, blasting sessions and always moving throughout the day. It'll be easier now that it's getting warm out. Gardens will be planted and tons to do outdoors. The dog will get walked more and I will be more productive. This time last year my mindset wasn't as it is today. Imagine who I'd be if I combined me today with my fitness determination from then!! Haven’t posted due to feeling overwhelmed by everything going on in the world and any type of media overall increasing that anxiety, but I’m STILL HERE! The gym is one of the few things that brings me clarity. The best part is I can channel my frustrations into pushing myself further without actually hurting anyone 😅 jk jk.

Today I'm here to share with you on of my favourite fast food recipes that makes two portions so you can meal prep and freeze for another day, perfect for all you girl bosses smashing it at work and uni 💪🏽💕
This recipe is macro packed with 46.6g of protein, 86g of carbs and 7.4g of fats coming in at 605kcal per portion! It's a one pot recipe so there is hardly any washing up and very little prep which makes it an all time favourite for me and can be as spicy as you like 😝

Feeling like I finally have something to be proud of this year. I’ve been on this fitness roller coaster for about a year now and hadn’t seen any progress. Had several trainers that were great, but they didn’t know the mental battles that I was going through and how I would binge food to bring me comfort. I’d then spend the next two days not eating because I felt guilty for binging. However, in September I finally got with a trainer that has become a friend. She encourages me and reminds me that just because I don’t like my body doesn’t mean that all of me has to feel ugly. She’s the reason I’m smiling in the first picture. I still have a long way to go, but this is from early September to mid November. Hoping to lose like 10-15 more pounds before I finish my grad program in May. This is just the beginning...

Soooooo excited to get in my @lesliegetnfit leg band! I LOVEEEEE resistance bands. They Are my absolute most favorite workout tool. #fbf Phenomenal meeting @katiehwillcox this past weekend! Still reflecting and unpacking all the knowledge she dropped @propelwater #CoLabs especially on the topic of #bodyimage 🍑 I remember back in the day I teased or whistled at hard cuz of my booty as I grew into my teenage years in Texas. I hated it, wore long t-shirts and looked to magazines for workouts to trim down da buns! 🍑 Fast forward to post-college pro life, I sometimes couldn't wear what other females wore, cuz when I did, it was called out as "inappropriate" for the work place. 🍑 Now, I'm getting DMs, texts and questions in the locker room on how to get a bubble butt, how many squats do I usually do, etc (especially after my last post). 🤣 And folks won't believe when I tell'em I was trying to reduce da booty in high school. 🍑 Katie brought to light the history of body image in this country and how strategic fashion outlets + media have been in brainwashing folks to the point where people, regardless of gender, are CONSUMED with achieving the latest trendy figure! I was aware of the practice but to hear how deep-rooted it was in our culture was an appalling reminder. 🍑 Cool. If you wanna start out a fitness regimen bcuz of 1 body part, fine - whatever gets you to get active. But eventually (and hopefully!), that goal will turn into you simply wanting to achieve peak health, feeling good, eating clean, and being as strong as possible! 🍑 Why strong as possible? I'm here to share with you my tea for tonight as well as the next three days because meal prep is life 😉🙌🏽 This is my all time favourite, super quick and easy, veggie mushroom risotto! This is perfect for uni as it's ready in only an hour and a half in the slow cooker and makes four portions that you can pop in the fridge, freeze and reheat for a busy week and an easy life 😍
