with the current decline of american politics, it’s important to remember that as funny as it is to look on at other people’s downfall and go “haha they brought this on themselves,” non americans need to remember so many of us are not the ones that brought this, not the ones that chose this, and yet are the ones suffering the consequences

57% of florida voted yes on 4. it didn’t pass even though it was an obvious majority because it wasn’t a supermajority

the overturning of roe v wade was out of the hands of the people. no matter how vocal we were, we had no real say

the presidential race was very close and there were issues with so many mail in ballots (there’s so many reports of things like damaged ballots, ballots getting rejected for “signature errors” and other nonsensical issues, people not receiving their ballots at all (a big issue at my college in the tampa bay area of florida due to back to back hurricanes), and even burning mailboxes). and there are people who live in america that aren’t allowed to vote (many immigrants aren’t allowed to vote on their own rights)

there have been protest after protest against the don’t say gay bill and advocating for trans rights. we are trying so hard and have been trying for a long time to keep this from happening. there are even calls for a recount of the presidential votes. the people suffering the consequences are the ones who tried to prevent them. we did not bring this on ourselves

so please, as funny as it is to look on and laugh at the state america is in and will be in (and i get it, the political and social climate here is unwelcoming and absurd), remember that the ones affected most by the regression of american rights are those of us who did not choose this. everyone will be affected (aside from the wealthiest of the wealthy), and the consequences will catch up to the people that did choose this (and i worry for them too). but the ones hurt the most are the ones who were spoken over

so please use empathy. solidarity. kindness. we’re scared

I like watching medical dramas but they all always have patients who refuse care and instead of the episode narrative being respecting bodily autonomy regardless of personal belief it’s “oh my god I have to save them!” and it’s just so intellectually lazy

I'm preaching to the choir here but I gotta rant about something real quick

The abortion topic always comes back to "murder" of a "baby" and I want to scream when that happens. Roe V Wade wasn't in place to "kill live babies" it was in place to provide the human and constitutional right to personal privacy!

You wanna call a bundle of cells a baby? Ok that's fine. But guess what. The person that those cells live in should have a choice in what happens to their own body. We legally cannot force someone to donate blood, plasma, organs EVEN AFTER DEATH WITHOUT CONSENT.

It's sad to say, but people wait on organ transplant lists for months, sometimes years and still die before getting the transplant because we don't have enough on standby. We can't harvest organs from the deceased that haven't allowed their bodies to be used in this way even though it would save thousands!

"But it's a human life-" You wanna play the moral high ground? Go rally for the kids that are in the broken foster care system. Go ADOPT or FOSTER these children that for one reason or another couldn't stay with their birth parent(s). Go protest for these actual babies that are living breathing human beings.

"Well they shouldn't have had unprotected sex" I'll agree with you there. But the solution to that shouldn't be punishing people; it should be advocating for more sex education. Advocating for easily accessible contraceptives. Advocating for free/affordable healthcare.

But oh I'm sorry, I forgot this was about the fight to control women's bodies

so techno (rhodonite) hears that Sam (idk what his gem is gonna be yet 🤔) made dream into a box (dream did some nebulous crime idk what yet) and teams up with Phil (tree agate) to go unbox dream. Happens pretty similar to the canon prison break from the dsmp!

Sam was using dream to essentially power this entire gem settlement and techno is pretty horrified bc hey, that's his buddy! and also a person! you cant do that to a person, let alone a person who's his buddy!

These are pretty rough designs so idk if I'll stick to them but I do like phils. Sam also goes full freak mode over dreams escape and is like "oh next time I'll just convince him to fuse with me and that way I can keep him from escaping" and there's a non zero chance dream goes along with it.

(dream used to be in essential a perma-fusion with Sapnap and George until the ill defined conflict happens and they split. Dream desperately longs for that closeness with anyone but also fundamentally rejects it with people he thinks kindly of.)

Dream now freshly freed from his amazon packaging goes back to his home to just protect it from people who want to colonize it. Think crystal gems but a whole lot more violent.

Enter foolish! Foolish, who had been bubbled for thousands of years and has only been running around for like the last 50 or so, is struggling to find his place in this diamond free universe. He ends building a bunch of stuff on the same world that dream's from, which was overrun with conflict in the about 100 years dreams been boxed. Dream meets him post box, they end up having similar interests so they work together. They mess around with the idea of fusing, and also maybe kiss. Yippee!!

Techno and Phil have a farm together paradot and lapis style. Q is somewhere causing problems, and I can only imagine the source for most of the problems stems from wilbur.

(Also foolish is from era 1 gems, everyone else except Phil and techno are from like era 6 basically. The diamond authority has been over for a very long time)
