“hurt” - Jegulus microfic - @into-the-jeggyverse - 496 words

Regulus is standing with James, Sirius and Remus in the Forbidden Forest in the middle of a thunderstorm. He took the potion a few minutes ago, he can feel his second heartbeat, but for some reason he’s nervous to make the switch.

“Nervous?” James whispers. Curse him for being able to read Regulus so well.

“No.” Regulus lies.

“Don’t worry, it’ll only hurt for a second until you get used to it.” James tells him.

“That’s what they all say.” Regulus rolls his eyes.

“Reggie! No. You are too young for jokes like that.” Sirius scolds him.

“You’re right. I shouldn’t joke about that.” Regulus says with feigned sincerity then turns to look at James. “You’re very good at prep. It doesn’t hurt unless I want it to.” Regulus overdramatically reassures James.  

James’ eyes go wide but there’s a hint of amusement in them.

“REGULUS!” Sirius shouts.

Remus snorts a laugh.

“MOONY?!” Sirius gives Remus a look of betrayal. He crosses his arms over his chest with a dramatic huff and looks back at Regulus. “Just fucking switch already.” He mumbles.

“Oh, we do.” Regulus says smirking at Sirius’ appalled expression but before he can respond Regulus closes his eyes and focuses on his second heartbeat.

There’s a moment of discomfort as Regulus feels his body shrink to the forest floor and then he’s looking up at the other three.

“Oh, you’ve got to be fucking kidding me!” Sirius’ voice is the first thing Regulus hears.

“He’s so cute.” James coos and Regulus assesses his new form.

He looks back and sees a long tail swish back and forth. He looks down at two small paws and picks one up to examine it closer. He stretches the pads and five sharp claws appear and he turns his head to smirk up at Sirius. Or as much as a cat is able to smirk.

“You did that on purpose.” Sirius grumbles as Regulus switches back.

“Pretty sure I have no control over it.”

“Knowing you, you’d figure out a way just to spite me, you little–” Sirius steps forward and Remus wraps an arm around his waist pulling him back.

“Careful, those claws can probably get pretty sharp.” Remus says.

“Don’t worry Sirius, I have a reason to always keep my nails nice and short. So, I’m sure the claws won’t get too bad either.” Regulus tells him with another taunting smirk.

“Why do… OH MY GOD!” Sirius shouts when he sees James pull his lips in to hold back a laugh. Sirius grabs Remus’ arm and stomps out of the forest.

“You’re mean.” James kisses his temple. “But you were very adorable.”

“I was not adorable. I was mean and fierce and intimidating.” Regulus says as they start walking.

“Sure you were, kitten.” James wraps his arm around Regulus.

“Do not call me kitten.” Regulus glares at him.

“Whiskers?”

“No nicknames.”

“Fluffy?”

“No.”

“Mr. Meowsers?”

Regulus just glares at him and James continues to list ridiculous nicknames as they make their way back to the castle.

Sam and Dean. Perfectly named characters.

Sam. Gender neutral name for a sweet, sensitive, comfortable in his sexuality bookworm. Sammy. The quintessential little brother nickname. Prissy princess Samantha with her sarcasm and beautiful long hair.

Dean. Mean Dean. Deano. The cool older brother. The womanizer with a badass car and classic rock collection. The tough guy who gets into fights, breaks someone’s teeth, then has a beer like it’s no big deal.

Black Eye ~ Brothers!Sturniolo Triplets

Summary: Nick, Matt and Chris are home in Boston so they decide to drive you to and from school, but as they pick you up, they notice you hiding your face.

Warnings: possible swearing, nicknames,a fight, black eye, mentions of bullying, random name for the bully, slight angst, fluff ending

Your brothers were home in Boston for a while and offered to drive you to and from school. You agreed as it saved you from walking. Today was no different for the morning.

"You ready kid?" Chris called, as you ran down the stairs and grabbed your bag.

"Let's go!" You cheered.

You got in the car, where Nick and Matt were already waiting. The guys talked about their plans for the day as you played on your phone for the car ride. Nick, who was next to you, glanced at your phone.

"Hope your not texting any boys." He said.

"Or girls." Matt added.

"Only friends. I'm twelve, not even thinking about dating." You responded.

"Good. Too young for a boyfriend or girlfriend!" Chris exclaimed, making you giggle.

You soon arrived at school and said bye to your brothers. Matt rolled down his window.

"We'll pick you up later and go get some food, sound good?" He suggested.

"Yeah! See you later!" You replied, waving as they drove off.

You walked into school, joined a couple of your friends and looked forward to going out with your brothers later. You thought it would be a good day.

That was until lunch.

You were just sitting on a bench with your friends, chatting and showing each other random TikTok's, when she came over.

Willow Jones.

She was an absolute bitch in your opinion. She walked around thinking highly of herself and her little followers.

"Hi you little troublemakers, burned down the science lab yet?" She teased.

"No, we're waiting till your in there." One of your friends replied, making you laugh.

"What are you laughing at, brat?" Willow responded.

"Sorry, you talking to me?" You called, looking around.

"Who else? Is there another spoiled brat with famous brothers here?" She called.

You laughed and shook your head. You knew you'd encounter your brothers haters at some point, knowing they were just jealous idiots as Nick called them and you knew Willow was jealous.

You stood up as she kept taunting you, walking over to her, your friends watched closely. Before you could even think, you punched her in the face. Her friends winced and screamed as your friends cheered.

"You bitch!" She spat.

Willow pushed you down and punched you in the face, your left eye to be precise. You tried to push her off but she was too heavy and your eyes were blurry from the punch. You scratched her arm as she was pulled off you, both being sent to the principal's office.

After a scolding of the principal, you were free to go. You quietly went to your last few classes, hearing the whispers all around you, whilst your friends tried to distract you.

When it came to home time, you walked slowly, wondering how your brothers were going to react. Would they be angry? Worried? Proud even? You couldn't quite figure it out, so you covered your face with your hair, hoping they wouldn't ask.

"Hey kiddo!" Matt called.

You glanced up and saw the car. You gave a wave as you climbed in the back alongside Nick.

"How was school?" Chris asked as Matt began driving.

"Alright." You mumbled, looking down at your lap.

"You okay?" Nick asked.

"Yeah, just tired and hungry." You responded, it wasn't a total lie.

Nick, Matt and Chris shared a silent look as you kept your eyes on your lap. Chris turned the music up slightly, making you sigh in relief, thinking they weren't going to ask.

But they did.

"Why are you covering your face?" Matt asked.

You looked up slightly and noticed you were parked in a restaurant car park. You sighed and looked out the window.

"It's just how my hair is." You lied.

"No bub, what are you hiding?" Chris asked.

You knew fighting wouldn't work, it would only make all of you angry. You caved and moved your hair out of your face and let them see your black eye.

"What the fuck!" Nick screamed.

"Is it bad?" You asked.

"Yes!"

"No!"

"Chris she has a fucking black eye of course it's bad!" Matt shouted.

"What happened, sweetheart?" Nick asked, gently touching around your eye.

You then explained everything that happened, how Willow was being and how you punched her but she got you back. How she and her friends had been picking on you and your friends for a while.

"What did the principal say?" Chris asked.

"I got lunchtime detention tomorrow and if it happened again I'd be suspended." You answered.

"Well, I'm proud you stood up for yourself, but pissed you got caught." Nick said, making you laugh as Chris and Matt shouted.

"You shouldn't be fighting people, not in school, petal." Matt said.

"I know but she made me angry." You responded.

"We understand, bub. Next time, out of school." Chris said.

You laughed and nodded, letting them have their jokes. You were happy they weren't really mad, but you still had to face your parents yet.

We've seen a lot of Danny is Damian's twin or older brother but I haven't seen many Danny is Damian's younger brother.

Dick Jason Tim Cass

I see this going two ways:

Danny gets whisked away from the league. Probably because Ra's was going to have Damian kill him as a test of loyalty but Talia or one of his nurses was having none of that. He ends up in Illinois, becomes a ghost, bla bla bla. They meet again when Sam drags Danny to a gala in Gotham with her and Damian is like "Danyal!?". Danny is utterly confused because he was too young to remember Damian or the league. Cue Damian going into overprotective 'I'm never letting you out of sight again' mode. The giw doesn't stand a chance once he finds out about them. The batfam is absolutely shocked because no one knew their youngest could be that protective of another person (Damian is 16 in this while Danny is still 14 btw). Him and Jazz are about to duke it out for custody or at least for the position as the most reliable sibling. Danny meanwhile is still processing that he has an assassin older brother. Neat.

Danny reincarnates. He retains his ghost powers somewhat which makes him special in the eyes of Ra's. This means he gets a separate training regimen. Damian sees his younger brother winning all of his grandfather's attention and promptly proceeds to pretend like he doesn't exist when he leaves for Wayne Manor. Out of jealousy and all that. Until one of the batbros is needling him about something or another and he lets it slip. The batfam is instantly like "we gotta rescue him" which Damian is not happy about. The entire rescue mission, he's complaining about how pointless this all is and how Danny is probably living like a king until they break into his room. Danny's room is bare except for a bed and when he sees Damian, he runs to him crying "you came back for me!". It turns out that Danny's training was much crueler to truly bring out the fullest force of his powers (no better trainer than survival and all that). Danny thinks his older brother came to save him and gets attached quickly. Damian refuses to admit how much the guilt is eating him up on the inside. (In this one Damian is 12 and Danny is 10)

jaykyle au where they're theatre kids in the same school but they're not the actors jason's the scriptwriter/director and kyle is the prop manager (i don't know the official terms sorry) and they'd probably do an amazing job on the backstage setting if they could stop arguing for 5 whole seconds about their artistic visions and ideas and how "this would obviously work better this way"

So I've been thinking, Sonic and Tails 'fight or flight' instincts switch as they get older.

Let me elaborate.

So growing up Sonic was pure fight instinct when he was younger. Just head first into any fight and he's not backing down for nothing, he's gonna find a way to win that fight no matter what.

But as he gets older he's got Tails to look after and all their other friends that follow him into danger. So now he's more willing to take an L, pull back, regroup and think of a plan in, relative, safety. So he's still not backing down from the over all fight but he develops a flight instinct and does run away when things get too bad in that moment. (basically 'lose the battle when the war' mindset is something he develops over the years aka flight)

Tails meanwhile is the complete opposite. Tails grew up on his own only learning how to run away and hide from those who wanted to hurt him. Then he met Sonic.

Sonic not only helped protect Tails and had his back, but Tails grew up watching Sonic only have a fight instict. And little kids love to imitate anyone older than them and we've seen Tails do this before.

So Tails is just pure fight instict as he gets older, which has Sonic having some regrets™ on how he raised Tails.

Essentially what I'm saying with this whole post is as they get older Sonic is the one that has to hold back Tails from fights.

As someone with a little brother I am SO convinced Tim and Damian would genuinely be screaming their heads off at each other

They’ve fully lost control of the argument

Tim doesn’t know what his point in the beginning was and Damian’s just trying to win

They’re seconds from biting and scratching at each other

Then suddenly Bruce or Dick or someone is like

“Stop fighting”

And Tim and Damian just stop everything and they’re both suddenly really civil and are like

“Stop what?” “Nothing’s wrong” “We love each other”
