in the old times of fandom there were many different ways to name a ship. if you were feeling lazy you could just do name/name or namexname. you could have your portmanteaus, à la spirk. you could have your homestuck style TwoNames naming convention. you might occasionally get your more creative names like wolfstar. and some fandoms would be absolutely obsessed with initials and brevity; why have erik/christine when you could be E/C? in 2014 we all collectively discovered creative tumblr tagging systems and so every ship on here was called shit like #otp: i am the one who gripped you tight and raised you from perdition. in 2018 every ship was called Shenanigans Bros or a random pair of barely connected nouns that were completely inscrutable to anyone who wasn't in the discord server where somebody made it up. in 2024 we have realised our madness of recent years and attempted to throw it back to the good old days, but we have done so without regard for restoring the diversity of the ecosystem and so every ship has a portmanteau regardless of whether the names actually sound good together. by this i mean i just saw a ship poll that just referred to jesus/judas as JEDUS?????????

tfw "popular" fanon becomes so embedded in a fandom & discussions within fandom spaces that people just start treating it as the default and all interactions with others are coloured by this interpretation. have you considered that I actually don't subscribe to this take, which is nowhere in the source material? wait nvm, clearly not.

Never mind the “Who shot first?” stuff; THIS is the defining moment of the Han Solo character:

Most people, I suspect, would have that reaction. 

Meanwhile, Han’s first reaction, instinctively, in less than a second, was to grab a gun and try to flat-out end the guy.

Danny stared down at the little assassin girl. She stared back. He blinked. She blinked back. Ok, this was weird. The little girl had been the latest in the line of attackers sent by some guy named "The Demon Head". So someone who hadn't grown up past middle school. Great. He really didn't know what this Demon Head dude wanted and was too busy to go find out so he had just been defeating all the attackers sent his way. They usually slunk off somewhere after that. Then the little girl had come.

Danny could admit there were many times in his life when he stooped down and did things he wasn't proud of. But even he was above fighting with a little girl who was probably brainwashed into this or something. That's why when she charged, he side stepped her and grabbed her by the scruff of her neck instead. The neck hold had been a reflex from all the times he had done the same with baby ghosts he would play fight on occasion.

Danny hadn't expected the girl to go limp and drop her weapons. He also hadn't expected her to be completely docile once he finally put her down. O...kay? With the awkward silence stretching on, he finally asked her if she wanted to eat to which she nodded. Fine, might as well happen. Taking in a little assassin girl was far from the strangest thing that had happened in his life.
