FFXV || UNUSED EP. ARDYN ENDING

This unused scene was supposed to be the very last cutscene in EPISODE ARDYN but it was seemingly taken out after all the other upcoming DLCs were cancelled which would have formed an entire new alternate storyline. Since Episode Ardyn is the start of that story line it would probably have been a bit confusing to tease something like this and only have it resolved in the novel - as the actual game content got cancelled. Its also worth noting that after this scene the score board will appear, fully ending the game. I dislike this DLC and the alternate storyline developed in DotF. In my view, DotF undermines previously established characterization/story and directly contradicts the original theme of FFXV replacing it with something entirely else. I do not view its content as canon in any form. I am, however, committed to uncovering and documenting the many secrets of FFXV. Hence why I have decieded to upload this online regardless of my personal opinions on the matter.

So the sound files from this scene were not an isolated leftover thing? Cool cool we get to see this :D It never ceases to amaze me how far the datamining scene of the game has come after all these years ✨ I'm loving Lunafreya's posture/walking animation here hehe I also partially agree with Luthus commentary. I'm not fond of the alternate story and ending DotF offers because of the lore changes, but It's been long since I decided to simply ignore it/let others have their fun and relish in the little things that surface from it, like Luna scenes and dialogues in the book, or in this case, a datamined scene.

No point in marinating in the things we don't like from a videogame's alternate ending when there's so much more to like from the actual game, me thinks.

[character]?” and based on what time it is right now, i’ll tell you what i imagine them to be doing. so for example, “🍰 - time check on toji fushiguro” and if it’s 3pm for me then i’ll write a little blurb on it, like lazing on the couch while little megumi wriggles his way in between you two.

if you’re wanting a specific time set like, “time check on hidden inventory arc gojo,” — “time check on pre-nibelheim sephiroth,” — “time check on 707 pre-ending.” you know?? i can write that too :)

i might be on a different time zone though so it might be a little weird if it’s 3am for you but 8pm for me lol, keep that in mind !! ^.^

I’m too tired to go too deep into detail on this one but here’s my Kingdom Hearts 4 theory that I want to put out into the world.

The nameless star and the girl we see in the Verum Rex trailer aren’t actually the same person. It’s a red herring.

Yozora takes clear inspiration from Noctis from FFXV (e.g. the scene of Yozora in the car that’s shot-for-shot a scene from an early trailer with Yozora replacing Noctis).

And while many think that’s because Nomura is using ideas he never got to bring to life when he worked on Versus XIII, aka “Beta FFXV”, before the project moved on without him, I think it’s less that and more to do with Nomura’s feelings in letting go of his characters and letting someone else write their story.

I think Yozora is the answer to the question “What if Noctis knew that his story was so far removed from what was originally planned? What if he knew his fate was changed?” (Put a pin in that, because there’s more to this question.)

Anyway, we all saw the nameless star for the first time and... Okay, well, a lot of us thought it was Strelitzia at first and that Square Enix North America (henceforth SENA) had just put romantic dialogue somewhere that wasn’t supposed to be romantic and accidentally made Marluxia sound like Strelitzia’s love interest. (Wouldn’t be the first time that happened in KH3. Thank you SENA.) But once we saw more of her and Yozora in Melody of Memory and Re:Mind respectively, we all realized she was from the same place Yozora was from, and we all thought about the only girl we know who’s from Verum Rex and we all just...

...assumed.

But we haven’t seen the nameless star’s face. And we haven’t heard Verum Rex girl’s voice. So we don’t actually have any confirmation that they’re the same person.

So here’s my suggestion.

Verum Rex girl is Luna in this equation.

And Nameless Star is Stella, the girl who was originally going to be Noct’s love interest back when FFXV was Versus XIII.

We meet Nameless Star in what is essentially Kingdom Hearts Purgatory. But she’s from a fictional world. Fictional characters can’t die. Not in the way we know it. I can pop Into the Spider-Verse into my DVD player, hit play, and boom, there’s Uncle Aaron, alive. You can’t do that with real people.

But if a character is written out of a story, they’re gone forever. That, I propose to you, is true death for a fictional character, which is why Nameless Star is hanging out with dead people. And she’s lost everything. Her whole identity. Her name. And the person she loves doesn’t remember her. Because she’s not part of his story anymore.

Yozora also says that the way he looks isn’t what he really looks like. A lot of people have taken that to be the start of an explanation for why he looks like Riku, and it still might be in some roundabout way, but I propose to you that he’s been redesigned, and he’s aware of it.

So here’s the core of what this all means, why it’s relevant.

Kingdom Hearts loves its parallels, yeah?

So here’s what I propose to you.

Sora’s story is also, as we speak, being rewritten. At least in a sense.

Sora sees Riku’s light, and twenty minutes later, it’s apparently Kairi’s light.

Sora saves seven hearts, including Riku’s, and three hours later, he’s only saved six, and Kairi’s heart is the seventh.

Somehow or another, Yozora found out about what happened to him, and, due to some trial or another, also found out what is currently happening to Sora. And he wants to save Sora from suffering his fate.

I don’t think there’s any hope for Yozora himself. He is, after all, the night sky, what could have happened if Sora’s story got the “bad end”, so to speak.

But I do think he can “save Sora.”

So here’s the rest of that question.

What if Noctis knew that his story was so far removed from what was originally planned? What if he knew his fate was changed?

And what if he saw the same thing happening to Sora, a kid destined to have a queer love story but forced into a romance with a girl by a greater power instead, and refused to let that slide?

I just noticed that on some of your art pieces (particularly your ffxv but I'm sure they're attached to others), you have certain short dialogues or plots or things and I was wondering if you wrote them for the art or if you drew the art based on a fic or something. Sorry this is super weird but I had to ask, I've been struggling to find ffxv author that scratches my particular itch and your art does it so well I thought that asking was the least I could do for my sanity

I don't have a writing ao3 account. Regarding my XV stuff-- that's. That's all there is. Fanarts w dialogues under them. And comics. Bunch of small little comics which were at some point collected into two zines (2019+2020). All of the ones I ever posted publicly should be either here or over at the dead bird app. I was drawing XV around 2018-2020, so it might be a bit of a hassle to dig through all that stuff over there, but that's all there is yeah.

i'm just CONVINCED ffxv was supposed to have a "who's the traitor??" storyline.

gladio goes on a mysterious "hiking trip"? iggy also disappears for a bit? prom turns out to be a niff? conincidence? i think not!!

i assume the idea was scrapped at some point during development.

now, i don't think ANY of the chocobros were actually supposed to be traitors. those were just misdirections. there was DRAMA in store, with noctis being forced to suspect even his closest allies.

who was supposed to be the traitor then, you may ask? COR.

i mean, all the dialogue surrounding his 1st appearance?? people marvelling how mysterious he is? how he was the only one who survived the citadel? and gladio brushing it off as cor just being that good?

and cor's gruff attitude also played a part. is it tough love? OR is it actually a disguised resentment?

1st time i played ffxv i was SO SURE cor was a traitor and i remain convinced that was planned... at some point.

normally i'd wonder why they'd remove a story beat and leave the setup for it. but i see that a lot as i play ffxv - little story elements that seem to be leading into something, but never do.

anyways until i'm somehow proven wrong this is my,,, ummm, would-be-headcanon? 😅

i had noooo idea I've been posting mostly filipino fics of late, that's amazing 😂 but in conclusion conclusion the thing about me is that I think my most natural opening is a dialogue but because I'm aware of that, I think that's the reason why I've shied away from it bc there's an imaginary audience at the back of my head pointing a finger at me and laughing. like "haha look it's a one-trick pony" and here I am whirling to my shadow and saying "no I'm not!!!!"

BUT so I was expecting at least one dialogue starter in all of these fics but it turns out that has never been the case lmao. but also like, so when my sister was still in college, she taught me about "in medias res" which really stuck to me because I thought it was the most natural way of things. time is flowing, every beginning could be a middle or an end of something and it also resolves the problem of having to build up something before you get to the meat. like biting into a sandwich with the main filling bunched up in the middle or smth

and I guess that's affected my style, too? like something's always already happening, enough for the perspective to make an observation, or the action is already happening.

which makes me sound smarter than I really am but I never said I was qualified to analyze my own works in the first place 🤣

Flagrum is a modding tool and mod manager, lets you install both Steam Workshop as well as earc mods very easily. It also lets you create mods, browse the game files with model and texture previews, extract all kinds of files from the game's earc archives, and more! For some features/early access you will need to support the developer on Patreon and link your Patreon account with Flagrum. Video guide how to install and use Flagrum. Flagrum Blender addon for those who want to create Steam Workshop mods or make renders. The addon lets you import individual FFXV models or entire FFXV environments into Blender. It also lets you export models for Steam Workshop mods. An entire wiki page with multiple guides and information about FFXV modding that the Flagrum developer has collected over the years. Lucent is a visual scripting tool, lets you alter the game's script files visually via nodes. To download the tool you will need to support the developer on Patreon. "Exineris" discord server where you can discuss mods and/or other FFXV related topics (try not to derail the discussion to projects like KH or versusXIII; that's not the purpose of the server). Also contains practical information for modders or 3D artists with links to many useful resources. The thing I really dislike about IV:A is how chatty all the characters are. We don't need to hear every single Partner's opinion after every event. One of the things that I like about SMT games is character dialogue is sparse and therefore less like noisy chatter. Law Hero infamously saying, "Try not to feel too bad" after that shocking event early on in SMT wouldn't hit as hard if you also heard the comic relief character, the goth loli assassin and the onee-san react as well.

Yeah, that's a recurring issue with modern JRPGs and their large, ensemble casts. When a party exceeds a certain size it becomes harder for each individual member to seem like an active participant in the narrative and not just a mechanical prop, and an easy way to allay that tension is to turn the party function into something like a commentary track. IVA actually does a serviceable job of integrating its cast into the drama, but there's still all these trite reactions that only exist to remind you of whatever stock personality traits are in need of reinforcement (or to subvert the same for comic relief).

It's at least interesting, the way some games in the genre try to navigate that expectation for constant chatter. Like skits in the Tales games, the real-time exploration banter in FFXV/FFVR, party chat in the DQIV-VI remakes etc. There's nothing like that to absorb the runoff in IVA, so everything just spills into story scenes.
