As well as writing, I have found myself also reading an awful amount of Sonic-related fanfiction and comics recently… So, I thought I’d share a few of my favourites in case anyone else has found themselves hyper-fixating over this fandom like I have recently 🦔

Concord by EvieNyx (@evienyx) - [Complete] 💙🖤❤️ Focuses on Shadow after the third SCU movie. It’s really cute, and I feel like it accurately portrays movie-Shadow’s thoughts and memories, mixing together elements of the films with fan theories and other STH media canon.

Project Guardian by AealZX @aealzx - [Ongoing] Again, after the third SCU movie (there’s quite a few of them 😅) but Shadow is taken in as a fourth Wachowski sibling, who has to recover from severe injuries. Some art is included, and it’s just really sweet all-in-all.

Secrets In Our Quills by @nebrasska-alasska - [Ongoing] 💙🖤❤️ I’m sure many of you are already aware of their amazing stories, but this one is the longest so far, and also the closest to being completed. But if you like Sonadow slowburn and plenty of gay fluff, you should definitely read all of their incredible fanfics.

A Junk Yard Of Possibilities by CrazyForClones (@crazyforclones) - [Complete] This story looks at what happened to Agent Stone after Dr Robotnik’s death and focuses on the potentially adorable friendship that could blossom between him and Tails.

Family Loading… Please Wait by Humanities_Handbag ( @humanityinahandbag) & Invader_Sam (@smerfols) - [Ongoing] This quickly became a favourite, as it did with many others. 💕 It starts all the way back with the Wachowski’s adopting Sonic and then Tails and Knuckles and eventually Stone and Shadow, and it’s just the biggest, cutest family dynamic.

What Makes Us Who We Are by EmmaSmoke ( @emmasmoke8) - This is about the Mobians doing certain things their Earth animal counterparts would naturally do. My favourite parts are definitely Tails doing adorable fox things and Tom and Maddie trying to figure out what the heck all their anthropomorphic alien children are doing. 😅

Suspended by CheetahBoy (@90sfr3sh) - This looks at what could have happened if Sonic and Tails didn't get rescued by Maddie and Rachel during the second film. It's such a cool concept, I'm very excited to see what happens next! 😁

It was supposed to be a normal, common and simple Instagram photo. You annoyed your boyfriend, Rin, until he finally let you take and post the damn picture. It was alright, the light wasn't the best, but there was a small smile on Rin's face that lit up the whole composition. You posted it. For you, everything was calm.

For Rin, everyone was chaos.

Isagi, Bachira and Reo were the first ones to talk to your boyfriend, dragging Nagi along. They were more than impressed, almost shocked that you would choose him.

"I didn't think that one of the best players in the world, would choose such a killjoy as a partner" - said Bachira. Rin almost murdered him that day, but since you would be mad at him, he chose not to go to jail (or worse, to disappoint you).

Reo and Isagi were much more polite, and showed their admiration. When leaving, Rin heard Reo say: "two very good players together, as partners... that sounds nice."

Then came Otoya who asked how did you both start dating and how long has it been. Karasu and Yukimiya complimented the picture and the relationship, but the first had a weird, curious look on his face, clearly jealous of you. Still, the three seemed quite excited to have someone so close to you right besides them.

Shidou obviously annoyed the hell out of Rin. He joked how he didn't know Rin could love another person, since he didn't know Rin could like anyone at all, but congratulated him on - "managing to seduce the all-mighty bringer of the world cup". - Charles, on the other hand, kept asking questions about the relationship, some quite invasive, some quite funny.

When discovering such a deed, Loki didn't know what exactly to feel. While it was good that Rin started dating, everyone was just... so excited. He almost felt jealous of your reputation. But if he wanted to surpass your abilities, he'd better keep working on that.

At the end of the day, pretty much everyone discovered your relationship. They either wanted to ask questions or were too surprised to say anything. Aryu did comment on how "glam" was your union, and Aiku complemented how much more "glam" it could become if a certain different player dated you instead of Rin.

About the whole tiredsn0w situation…

I have recently been made aware of this whole situation in which tiredsn0ws essentially getting harassed. As a close friends of hers, I feel obligated to say something, however  I won't reveal my identity for my own sanity.

Most of the matter I will be commenting on stems from @sneakysnekbetch ‘s blog.

CW for mentions/discussions of bullying, fetishisation, sexualisation, racism, pedophilia etc.

I didn’t scroll as far on the blog, so the screenshot order will be what is newest.

First of all, sn0w has acknowledged that the drawing may come off as sexual but is not drawn to be. I can see how it’s uncomfortable but at the end of the day, the artist didn’t intend for it to be weird. You can find it weird, but wouldn’t you say the person who made the work knows more about it than you? Rhetorical. 

Second of all, to address the third and fourth image added in the first screenshot: it is so incredibly important to note that SCP-049 has BPD in this canon. He is heavily inspired by someone with BPD who Snow knows herself. The fixation/dependency/obsession that comes with having an FP is not weird just because it is platonic or familial-adjacent. Same for the last image. One of the tags was quite literally, ‘don’t tag as ship’, meaning it isn’t romantic:

Saying you ‘need someone’ is not an inherently sexual thing.

The problem with all your claims is that you leave out a shit ton of context and exaggerate what you do present.

What is depicted in the screenshot is not a tantrum, but a personal opinion that was phrased in a rather long way. Someone being non-sharing or not wanting to interact with ships is perfectly fine. I myself block SCP-049 x OC/SCP-035 shippers because it makes me uncomfortable. Likewise, this is just someone stating a boundary. Oh no! This person doesn’t like to see ships! Because of personal discomfort! 

Not to mention that Sn0ws discomfort with SCP-049 x SCP-035 stems from the fact it creates personal distress with her and, in canon, is considered abusive (See: That’s not love, Isabel.)

This isn’t bullying. Unless you provide contextually relevant details, it won’t be bullying.

Obviously, even if it isn’t bullying, it is still perfectly valid to feel upset from getting comments that aren’t 100% supportive of something you create. I’ve been there myself, but to call it bullying is wrong.  

Instead, that entire response just seems constructive.

Again, this doesn’t seem butthurt, rather just clarifying? You just love to blow things out of proportion, Snek.

Also, it is SO ironic how you talk about ‘’Multiple canons’, yet you’re the person who complains about SCP-049 acting a certain way in one canon?

We also see SCP-049 being extremely paranoid and obsessive with his ideals in the article. you  know what else? We also only see a bit of his character in the article. There are many ways to flesh out SCP-049s character and lore. Not everything has to be article-accurate. Especially because the entire deal with the SCP: Foundation is that there is no true canon. Go figure.

I agree that the first and latter image are odd, but those are incredibly old and also have been deleted for a good reason. The BBC one… yeah, extremely uncomfortable and weird. Again, deleted for a good fucking reason. Do I think an apology would have done better? Yeah. But still, deleted for good reason.

The second drawing, however… is just not sexual at all? Seriously, so many of your arguments boil down to, “I THINK IT IS SEXUAL EVEN THOUGH IT ISN’T!” and it is so embarrassing. So much of SCP-6118s character revolves around mental illness (that the author also has), so why are you so upset that mental illness is depicted realistically and, by proxy, uncomfortably? Get over it.

I will reiterate my point— the artist knows their own work better than yourself. But you don’t seem to understand that concept, as shown here:

Again, that art is not sexual at all. It is someone in restraints. A soldier, no less. Restraints are so commonly used in non-sexual ways in literally so much media. You’d know if you stepped outside of spaces that portray such things as sexual.. Same with objectification. It is almost like soldiers are seen as living weapons rather than humans. You know, almost like they are being objectified. 

It is almost like Sn0ws writing is literal psychological horror and focuses on the consequences of abuse, mental illness and the like. 

Seriously, this one in particular is a you problem. It is no one’s fault but your own if the first thing you think of is sexual stuff. Actually embarrassing. 

You can so absolutely find a song choice weird, but again, Sn0w said she explained her intent with the drawing SEVERAL times. Not to mention that it is so incredibly common to interpret songs that are romantic or sexual in a completely different/platonic way. Trying to explain to someone what THEY meant when THEY made THEIR work is so cringe.

It is almost like a ton changes in a whole year and that there is a reason Sn0w distances herself from her old work and chose to rewrite it. Not to mention that sn0w has said the opposite about infantilisation of SCP-6118: 

She has expressed cringe and discomfort for most of her old works.

Key word: teenage. One makes and does things that are incredibly weird and uncomfortable and regrets them later on during teenhood. Sn0w has drastically changed since her old works. Here is a full overview of her thoughts regarding her old works:

Also, pointer: SCP-6118 is asexual and aromantic, not gay. Tiredsn0ws version of SCP-049 is asexual and aromantic. Tiredsn0w herself is asexual and aromantic. Aromanticism is very present in her new work. To add onto my point about SCP-6118 being SCP-049s FP (taken from rev. 10 from the scp sandbox) and their relationship being not-romantic:

Actually, none of her characters dynamics are written to be romantic:

I just had to save this one for last. Do you know how absolutely fucked up it is to compare someone to a literal fucking pedophile? A groomer? Snek, you literally forced Sn0w to reveal extremely personal and traumatic details just for her to prove she isn’t, but you don’t care about that and instead keep persisting, and for what? I will not share screenshots out of respect for sn0w, but you know very well. You should be ashamed of yourself.

In conclusion, most of this boils down to people not understanding aromanticism and personality disorders in writing and making up their own interpretations of what someone meant with their work while also invading their privacy.  There is a severe lack in understanding of actual story and thought process. Her work is not intended for a general audience and instead for  people with mental illness and those willing to sympathize with the grimmer aspects of it.  

And also, to Snek:  your arguments are not constructive, they are contextually spotty and so chronically online it makes my head hurt. Your weird usage of condescending titles (i.e. babygirl, bro, etc) aren’t cool or a good ‘got-cha’, it is incredibly uncomfortable and cringe to see. Do some internal insight on why you perceive so many things as fetishistic or sexual, because at this point, it is literally just a you problem.  Do better.

Also, a note about something tiredsn0w (and I, minimally) have noticed:

Micro aggressions are not okay, Snek. And neither are ignorance and performative actions. 

And lastly— leave tiredsn0w alone. I block people who I think are weird also. The block button is right there, it’s free and it is available for a reason. If I can do it, so can you. 

As per my personal opinion, I think that if someone has expressed distaste for their old work and wishes to disconnect themselves from it, then that is okay and should not be held over their head. The artist knows their work better than others. Even when intent is explained, it goes in on one ear and out on the other.

what do you think toshiro's version of laios would've been like if he was still with the group during the shapeshifter shenanigans

there have been a few speculations in the tag and among the fans and they are all very good SO i am going to take this opportunity to insert a bit of my shipping bias as i like in my interpretation LMAO agdsfgdfgv

i noted that in actuality shuro seems to have a very good grasp on laios' character??? this is most obvious in the manga later on but even seeing how he criticises laios in their fight... iirc nothing he says is actually untrue or wildly exaggerated, and while he does express frustration over something he feels like laios Should have control over (noticing his cues), he is also aware that laios isnt being malicious and that hes Just Like That. what i mean to say is that while i think his version of laios may seem more pushy and in-your-face, i dont think it will be overwhelmingly so. if its post-fight, i think the idea of laios (and marcille) being willing to do anything to get falin back made a big impression on him, as well as the idea that they need to eat and rest in order to succeed in their goals, so those aspects would be prominent in his version. he seems pretty observant, so i think for the most part the physical traits would line up, but i think there would be specific things that stand out to him that would appear strangely striking on his version of laios (like. idk something about his eye colour or the subtle contrast of his armour and chainmail. he seems to have a weird sense of aesthetics if extras are anything to go by lmao). if hed actually been paying attention all those times laios had gone on about what the hell ever, then it might be even MORE hard to tell apart his version since he would also have a good grasp on what laios should know. so either his version of laios is pretty difficult to pick out, OR despite the character being accurate his appearance is too. stylised lmao (exaggerated features or something) OR!! they just get him to pull out his monster gourmet guide thing and are able to tell from there. iirc everyone was surprised at its appearance so its possible toshiro had also never seen it before

IN MY IMAGINARY SHIPPING SCENARIO............ lets say that his laios isnt able to be picked out immediately and that the monster guide thing also doesnt immediately occur to anyone. what the real laios Specifically notices is how close this other laios keeps getting to shuro. and hes like. ??? why is he getting so close to him, theres no way i get that close to him??? but no one else seems to be picking up on it as weird, so hes having a small crisis like do i REALLY get that close to him???? and now that hes on the outside he notices shuro subtly leaning away and he feels both a wave of shame and..... protectiveness??? (JEALOUSY??????) and he immediately steps in and grabs him like Hey!!! cant you see hes uncomfortable???? weve been through this already!!! and like. ok i cant believe im doing this again but i need to separate this into different endings

a) the whump route: i dont think shuro ever envisioned Actually Telling laios about his frustrations outside of being basically cornered into it. has he ever spoken up against what was expected of him?? has he ever been confrontational???? i think part of what held him back from expressing his frustrations, along with the cultural norms, could be fear of what the reaction would be. if he had done the same in any other aspect of his life (his family, his inheritance), i think he would expect disappointment, disapproval, more proof that he doesnt add up to expectation. to be honest i dont think he Truly believes that laios is the type of person to react like this. but it was strong enough to prevent him from acting and i think would be projected onto his image of laios. maybe fake!laios says something dismissive like Well if it really bothered him hed say something right? what, he cant even stand up for himself? cmon, shuro, prove that you cant handle it just like everything else. and thats pretty much the fastest giveaway that it isnt really laios. of course this would be a HUGE tonal departure from what the actual episode/chapter was, so:

b) the dumbass route: both laioses break into fisticuffs, and, yes.... barking. and so they speedrun the entire encounter as the shapeshifters true form appears and, after laios points out that thinking too hard about others versions of you can tear apart groups and peace of mind, they pointedly do not speak of it again. they think about it though. a LOT

c) the normal route: both laioses argue normal like and the group ends up being able to tell them apart because the fake laios goes on a little too long about how theyre all here for falin and everyones like ok its not like he DOESNT love his sister but.......... the rest of the scenario probably goes like canon, though then i would want to see what everyone Else thought of shuro

Didn't listen to Malevolent today but I remembered that a new weird character such as Kayne being added to the cast means that I'm legally obligated to throw things at a wall and see what sticks. I haven't had many theory-based posts since the ending of season 1 since season 2 was very much about survival in the dreamlands without the subplot of finding out what the fuck John is and what his intentions. (I used to use "it" to refer to John and the king but because of how human John became and his desire to continue to grow into that direction as a person I feel like "he" is now a more accurate description than "it") Anyway, Kayne: I'm gonna swing and say that he could be related to Shub-Niggurath in some way. I might be remembering something completely wrong but I think Shub-Niggurath was described as a purveyor of chaos, destruction, and decay, as well as that its summoning to Arthur's world would end up in its destruction. Now, dear reader, you might be asking what straws I am grasping on in order for me to consider that possibility. Well! Kayne is incredibly powerful, easily able to fuck with the King. Kayne described itself as a god while the King is just a king. King's are appointed by the gods so the implication here could very much be that the King can rule over whatever it likes because the gods will let it. The King already has strong impact on people and Kayne just casually slaughtered an entire city for entertainment. Kayne could easily destroy worlds. The reason it doesn't if it was Shub-Niggurath? Well, that would be the exact same reason it's observing Arthur and John; Entertainment. Sure, slaughter and demise is a way to kill time for Kayne but that's temporary. And seemingly also only a temporary past time for Kayne. It must get boring if you get too much of it. Do I think this theory is true? Probably not. Kayne can traverse through the worlds, Shub-Niggurath apparently needed a ritual for it. Though one can argue that this source is unreliable and made up by mortals. It would be interesting if Kayne purposefully let the King wander through the portal to Arthur's world simply to see what happens, or to watch destined events unfold. Still, Shub-Niggurath was more described as a force of nature rather than a bored god. Surely the dark dimension would have infinitely different things to busy Kayne with since it's the dumping ground of an infinite amount of different worlds. I wonder if Kayne could go to the dark dimension? According to John, nothing leaves from there. Then again, John and the King are probably less than a drop in the ocean next to Kayne. I have one more wild theory though: Kayne also mentioned someone named lilith! I know she will have a speaking role because she's prominent enough to show up in the suggested hashtags when I tag my malevolent posts. So, what do the names of Kayne/Cain and Lilith have in common? Abrahamic(specifically jewish, in Lilith's case) creation myth! Kayne might literally be Cain From The Bible, murderous instincts and possible insanity after an unfathomably long life filled with guilt included. Maybe God cursed him to an eternal life? Alternatively, he could just be God From The Bible. Seemingly all powerful? Check. (seemingly) All knowing? Check. Existence of fate that he can see? Also check. The naming convention of having a Kayne/Cain and a Lilith drop in the same conversation seems too obvious to be nothing. Or maybe it is. But it feels like it shouldn't be. All creatures from myth have the possibility to be real in the worlds of Malevolent so it just seems likely that the most famous myth of modern times would be brought up eventually.

Paul - Plum - I saw someone mention plum instead of grape flavor, and I agree with this statement. It may be because I am traumatized by grape flavor being a constant with every medicine I was forced to take as a child, but yeah, no grape. Plum however, its juicy, sweet but not overly sweet, and this carries on with plum flavored candies or teas. Bonus points because plums are a red-violet color on the outside, which more accurately aligns with the violet color scheme he has.

Optionally, if you want something sweeter, currants are a good choice, and aligns with the color scheme.

Gene - Immediately we reach for cherry or strawberry, and if it tasted like real cherries, I would say yes, but my thought is it would taste like cherry "flavor", and I'm going to be honest and say I don't really like that. I think pomegranate or blood orange is a safe option for this one. Both kind of fit to his color scheme, and both are agreeably delicious.

Peter - He is not a sour apple, I'm sorry- I choose fig for this one. I can't really explain why fig and not say, apple, lime, or pear for him, except that I feel like fig is his vibe.

Ace - Papaya? I am honestly so torn about his flavor profile because I feel like it would taste so weird, but not in a bad way, just in a very confusing way. Like it's good, but what fruit is that? Maybe passion fruit? Maybe not?

Eric Carr - Orange is good but have we considered peach as well? Tangerines? Guava? The first few align pretty well, but for the sake of this post I am choosing a white peach. Everyone likes the look of a white peach and they want to taste a white peach, and peach flavor is arguably less strong than orange flavor. Plus, its a peach, and someone has a lot of ass.

Vinnie - I can agree with lemons and it may be because I actually love lemons and lemon flavored things. I'm going to be fancy and say a Sorrento Lemon for this one. Lemons are definitely a flavor that you either like or you don't really prefer, but it's still an option. As someone who enjoys lemon flavored Italian ice, I am okay with this. Bonus points for color.

Bruce - Durian or a type of melon and I will not explain myself

But no for real, the sliver you can see of the snakeskin on Jo and the fact it's the lightest thing you can see on his whole outfit feels purposeful. It's still incredibly funny to me that whole thing was treated as a twist at all. But.

And the progression on account of the timeskip is sick too from a symbolic perspective. It's things like the 2019 tie having the exact same pattern as in 2000, but it's also now the only real color in his entire ensemble, the purple from his shirt relegated to the tie and the pink completely gone. If we go with Sololiquy for a moment, maybe there's also something there about things being livelier when Ichi was around, for better or worse.

All the leather is ostensibly much more luxurious, befitting of his rise in status, but it's also burying him further in these additional layers of security. The gloves DO pull it together, and they also leave him basically completely covered-up from head to toe, which I can't help find fascinating.

So, you know, he looks sick with the gloves on, but there's also a different Flavor when recognizing he had them on the first battle when he was hiding so much from Ichi, but in the second battle, where he hopes to come clean, he's bare-handed ("Ichi-vision" notwithstanding).

And I think it's also worth recognizing that the gloves would've offered some protection when he went to grab the blade, but he grabs it anyway in his bare hand. With the amount of force you apply when you swing a blade and it actually connects, that'd hurt him just as bad, but it shows he's past the point of caring about what happens to him even before he says so. (I still think we should've probably seen his hand cut and bleeding when out of Ichi-vision, but y'know.)

I am in a rush so this is very badly put together and I'm honestly just brain dumping in your ask box and I apologize for that, I am fully aware that my t4t hc for them DOES NOT qualify as a proper theory and I don't expect it to be canon or anything, but omg, I have thought WAY too hard about it.

First of all, I think it could work with the fact that Claudia kept the Phantomhive name, and even passed it to Vincent and Frances, it's not just because she's a cool female watchdog, but also because she wasn't born as an heiress, she was supposed to be an heir. My thoughts about her are actually wayyy to complicated so this is just. The simplest way I can put it. And it's also not entirely accurate to my actual interpretation of her, nor is it accurate to actual historical evidence, I like having my Victorian Flip-Phone moments with her.

As for UT, pretty much everyone at this point has pointed out that he's a wonderful parallel to Grell and augh I just love the idea of that. Hi hi hello you lovely artiste 🤗 personally I live for being weird and awkward and generally unhinged in the tags, but that's just me. I also enjoy word vomit in my ask box, so it's all gravy either way.

You know I realized the name thing when I had that ask not too long ago that claimed Claudia must not have been married in order to pass her maiden name to her children. This isn't true, she just would have needed royal assent - but her being trans does work perfectly, doesn't it? I also love the thought that three generations of Phantomhive heirs were wearing dresses. Claudia really set the trend there.

"Victorian Flip-Phone moments" - brilliant.

I've always thought Claudia would have been incredibly isolated as a female watchdog; unaccepted by the other male heads of noble families, her predecessor's associates, and the other women of the peerage. She would have been an outcast, even moreso than the watchdog typically is, for the unique position she held. This would make a lot of sense if she were trans, too - and it would make her connection with Undertaker all the more significant.

Funny that you say that Grelle is a wonderful parallel to Undertaker, because I personally haven't seen much about that. I've always seen much more in common between Undertaker and Will - at least, within their careers as reapers, and I very much like the theory that Will will be guided down the same path of rebellion that Undertaker took.

I do think Grelle and Undertaker have some traits in common, but Grelle is much more uninhibited than Undertaker was as a reaper. They both seem to be very unusual reapers, but for very different reasons. Grelle's own rebellion seemed more... Unserious, I guess? And perhaps, more motivated by love and personal freedom than Undertaker's, which I believe was more motivated by a sense of moral righteousness. I have always adored the line Undertaker says in their fight on the Campania, "you've been seduced by the lives of humans too". Like, there's so much to dissect in that one line - though tbh I can't remember if that was the official translation or not.

So I'd be curious to hear more about their similarities from you, and where you think Grelle is going with her level of crash out. Spread your propaganda and the brain worm will do its work.
