Keeping your relationship secret was kind of difficult. You were a model, a famous one, also known for modeling the Yomiuri Giants’ jerseys. And your boyfriend THE Ken Sato, a legend, a famous baseball player in Yomiuri Giants.
Both of you were known for your interactions, being caught by the public sometimes as you go out on dates, but still denying the accusations although it was true. He wanted to flex you to the whole world, but you’re afraid that making this relationship known public, would break it. Fans could be too much sometimes..
I hear my phone ring, snapping off from the overthinking. “Ken?” I call out after answering the call, “[Name]!” He says joyfully, happy that you responded to his call.
You smile, “What’s up?” asking as you felt a bit concerned. “Nothing, just wanted to go on a da—“ I sigh, hearing his words, cutting him off. “Kenji, you know we can’t go out in public anymore, these fans can see anything.”
Kenji laughs, “What if we have a date at my place?” I blink, right, how could we not think of this before? “Kenji, you’re a genius!” I say excitedly, hearing a victorious laugh from the other side of the phone.
“See ya tonight, baby. 6:00pm, wear something nice, it’s an indoor pool date.” He says, before ending the call. I blink, feeling surprised. Indoor pool date? Oh, it’s my time to shine.
As soon as you knocked on the door, you waited a few seconds before just deciding to open it.
It was quiet, you were only met by a dim lit room as you walk. “Kenji?” You call out, only hearing soft music playing from across the hallway.
You slowly walk over, turning a corner before seeing a glass door, you slide it open, greeted by a shirtless Kenji sitting at the pool. His eyes were close until he heard your footsteps.
You cross your arms smirking at him, and there he was with that reaction of his. He looked like he was star struck, seeing you in that pretty swimsuit of yours. “Gorgeous girl.” He chuckles, motioning you to come in.
You finally hop in the pool, listening to your favorite song that he played on his speaker. You place your head on his chest as you both relax in the water.
“This is all we need.” I sigh, closing my eyes. Kenji slowly puts a hand on my cheek, making me open my eyes rather quickly. His thumb brushes over my lip before he gives me a peck on the lips.
Soon, his kisses were everywhere on my face. Forehead, cheeks, lips, everywhere. You giggle as he plants kisses on your face, his free hand wrapping around your waist to pull you close.
“My pretty girl.” His compliment makes you blush, maybe it was his time to be flustered, too.
You wrap around your arms on his neck, both of your foreheads touching as he moves his hands to your waist, you both close your eyes, chuckling at the closeness.
“This is what I’ve always wanted, just you and me.” He sighs. After a few moments, you lean into his touch, resting your head on his chest as you watch the indoor pool, LED lights turning different colors slowly.
Some painted canvases on the wall for display. “Since when did you get to build an indoor pool?” I raise a brow at him. “You know me, what I want, I get.” He jokes, placing a hand on your head.
“It’s beautiful.” You say as you look around, “You’re more beautiful.” You look at him, feeling a bit flustered from his words. “The most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.”
You roll your eyes at his cheesiness, splashing water on him. “Hey!” He whines, with you quickly hopping away in the water, “Oh, it’s on!” He says with a determined look.
Just you and him, that’s the best place to be in.

hey im 20 year old female. recently i have recognised that i practice negative self talk a lot. any advices how could i stop or atleast reduce it?
how to cure negative self talk đŸ€đŸ’­
the way we speak to ourselves can majorly impact our self worth and ability to reach our goals. i remember when i first tuned into my inner monologue
 i was shocked and disgusted at how horribly i was speaking to myself all day every day. i had no idea! so i began researching how to stop it and implementing as much as i could. it definitely takes a lot of active work but i’m happy to say that years later i currently hardly ever have negative thoughts about myself (or others) anymore, and when i do it’s really easy to catch and deal with.
1. tune into your thoughts
it’s common for negative thoughts to run wild through our minds without us actually even noticing. the first step is to take some time to tune in and really notice what you’re thinking. the best time to do this is in “trigger” moments, like when you’re stressed, facing something challenging, looking at yourself, reflecting on a social interaction etc. how you talk to yourself in these moments will be very revealing.
2. actively reframe negative thoughts
flip any negative thought you have into an opposite, positive thought and/or speak to yourself with compassion and nurture. a common one for me when i was stressed while working and feeling stuck was “ugh i’m so stupid!” i changed it to “i’m smart and capable of solving problems”. it will feel silly at first but the more you do it, the more natural it becomes. with time you won’t have the negative thoughts at all.
3. journalling/writing morning pages
morning pages are from “the artist’s way”, which i recommend everyone read and try at least once in their life. but you write 3 pages of free flowing thoughts first thing in the morning (ideally). no self editing, anything that crosses your mind goes down. this is where a lot of your deep negative thoughts tend to spew out, and this allows you to see them, confront them, and view them as the silly little thoughts they are. your negative thoughts are from shame and fear; you need to express them and get them out. shame thrives in darkness but will shrivel under the light.
4. practice mindfulness and staying present in the moment
so often we spiral into negativity due to overwhelm. guided meditations helped me a lot (you can find them on YouTube, Spotify, insight timer etc). you’re essentially trying to re-wire your automatic brain response so you need to be able to stop running on autopilot and actually tune into what’s happening inside by gaining some control over your thoughts. it’s literally like training a muscle so is difficult at first, but you get better at it the more you do.
5. eliminate distractions and consider a dopamine detox
we numb and distract ourselves in a variety of ways. whether it’s constantly surrounding ourselves with people, scrolling social media, binge watching tv, over-using substances or other indulgences etc
 these things are fine in moderation (and actually can be necessary to overall wellbeing, i think being constantly self aware can also drive you crazy and you’re allowed to have a break) but take note of how often you are actually numbing yourself out and promoting disconnection with your mind. you need to be able to face your thoughts.
6. notice how you think about others, too
i’ve mentioned before one of my worst qualities to overcome was the fact i could be very judgemental and arrogant. i actually found this was directly related to my negative self perception - after all, what we think about others is usually actually just a projection of how we feel about ourselves, our insecurities, our fears. so i also made an effort to stop judging others and instead find positives to focus on. this worked so well to overall retrain my mind toward positivity (and also started attracting much more healthy and positive relationships into my life too).

Welp let's see some things I've done with week
I published my Saarebas story to Ao3 since I've put the WIP on pause while I finish up my EmmOz prompt
It can be found here if anyone is interested but please mind the tags! Some nasty stuff happens in there! Here's a sliver of chapter 2:
 Everything hurts, that same all-over bruising, multi-sensational pain that always follows when someone touches me, it only makes me more sick to my stomach. The blood now in my guts churns and boils, it sits heavy and I swear it is making my body weigh to the ground, heavy with pain. I want to vomit it up, though I find the sickness in my body stays within itself, there is no push to expel the disgusting feeling from my body. I shake as I sit myself up, I shake harder as I bring my fingers to my mouth again, gentle as I can I trace along to riggeds left from my pulling. I wonder how I can put myself through so much pain yet only yield so little results from it. Yes the threading had pulled, yes there were now tears in my flesh as a proof of it yet, it felt as if it was barely any. It stings as I touch it, the burning sensation of an open wound to dirty hands but I can’t help but continue the pain. Anger burns in my throat for how could I be so weak, so overwhelmed, and barely have anything to show for it. Temptation bites at my brain as I think of threading my fingers once more, to pull and suffer through the pain so that I may be free from this thread, if only for a moment.

And I have been working extra hard on my EmmOz Grave Gold fuck so here's the last line of that!
He gave a quick glance up to his lover, watching for a moment to let himself appercatiae the image before him then crocked his fingers that were still buried deep within the Qunari. Oz jumped a little, his body gave a start and a sound vibrated through his chest, a laugh. “Bastard,” He whispered.
I also am working on a art for this fic but I'll keep that secret as to hopefully not ruin the surprise of that story

I'm the anon who shamelessly promoted JoongDunk before. More lore for you because I just had to after reading your latest post.
Joong is what happens when an avid fanboy becomes a celebrity. He is absolutely unhinged and very deep into fandom culture. My man has not only read fanfics about his own ship, he has also written fics and posted them on his main multiple times. His favorite genre seems to be vampire + mafia with happy endings and nc scenes. Seriously, Joong is more delusional than the entire fandom combined and we all love him for that.
Dunk is a wild card, you never know what you will get from him. He is definitely unhinged as well, he just hides it well. Since Joong is the king of delulu, fans are usually unperturbed by his antics because that is what we expect of him. It's when Dunk decides to go crazy that the fandom collectively loses their mind.
If you want daily doses of unhinged entertainment, I would definitely recommend you follow both on social media. They post regularly, be it about work or their daily life. It's always a great time and the visuals are great too.

*cackles* yeah i can see how dunk would be the one to watch out for. it seems much more rare although i did see an extended cut of both of them insisting that its normal to call your friends "babyyyyy" (complete with whiny tone) and even when joong eventually caved and got embarrassed, dunk was still insisting that it was perfectly normal. like. sir. no. you're not fooling anyone, but also you're clearly doing this on purpose. xD

Loki season 2 review (critical)
As usually, I’m late to the party, but the thoughts about the 2nd season have been bugging me since October 2023. Finally I organize my impressions that kept my brain working during cooking my breakfast almost every morning.
Plot
Frankly, too much quasi-sciency BS. Smth smth time loop smth smth. I just let all ‘explanations’ and ‘theoretical basis’ past my ears. Grasped the main events, not going deep into everything Ouroboros was explaining on screen. Getting my brain broken again trying to understand the logic of smth the creatives themselves didn’t bother to clear up in the writers’ room? No, thank you. Been there during ‘Avengers Endgame’, didn’t like it.
Loki
Loki becomes the main character in his own series! At last! /s Seriously, how low the fucking bar should be that the fans are glorifying the series for an absolutely natural thing – the title character, promoted everywhere as the main character, actually being the main character. And sometimes he even looked and sounded as OG Loki! Wow! \s Again, how low our expectations were so that a lot of us are happy to see these crumbs. The stupid beige suit is still on. My comments about his new costume in the finale are here.
Loki torturing Brad who’s being in the same position as he was only little time ago, and doing it with no qualms whatsoever
 insisting he uses his number instead of a name
 Using numbers instead of names washes away personalities, it’s a famous fascistic instrument to not see a group \ groups of people as humans. I immediately compared this situation with ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ series. All good guys use names that the clones picked up for themselves (like ‘Cody’ instead of ‘CC-2224’ or ‘Rex’ instead of ‘CT-7567). Those who insist on calling them designated numbers are villains of the story. It’s obvious and natural. What’s wrong with the ‘Loki’ series creatives?
And, of course, no happy ending for Loki! Alone forever on a throne he never wanted. Actually, I didn’t understand if he could move from there. I read fans saying ‘he can travel through all time and space now’, but I didn’t find any creators’ comments about it, and the series never confirm so either.
Sylvie
How fucking annoying she was!
Seriously, this season changed my perception of Sylvie to the worse. When I watched the 1st season, I had no feelings about her. She didn’t strike me as a very interesting character, and the romance was awkward and not touching (I’m not even diving into idiotic ‘self-love’ metaphor and overall incestuous vibe).
But since s.2 ep.3 she was grating on my nerves everytime she appeared on screen. She’s absolutely incapable of realizing and owning her mistakes, pushing the blame on everyone around her. For example, in ep.3 she changes her mind about murdering Timely, but immediately says to Loki ‘Don’t make me regret this’. Lady, it was your decision! Yours and yours alone! Seriously, how did the creatives imagine her train of thoughts? ‘I do smth, but there’s Loki in the room, so if anything goes bad because of my decision, I’ll blame it on him’? Ah, yes, it did work in s.1 ep.6, when everyone in- and out-of-universe started to blame Loki on the freeing of the Multiverse.
She’s portrayed as an insolent selfish and self-centered brat. But what is worse, the creators thought they were writing her as being actually right! Like, when she and Loki talk in the bar in ep.5, she blames Loki for being selfish. I suffered rewatching this moment. Yes, he wants his friends back. But she – she is willing to go on heads of countless people to get what she wants, as she did in s.1 ep.6, the most vivid example. Destroying the Multiverse for her personal revenge (don’t get fooled by her non-existent ‘crusade for freedom’, as the creatives started to backpedal in interviews)? Why not! Does Loki want to keep his friends at this cost? She acts all selfish – but she is right in her selfishness, and Loki is wrong?
Generally, I’d say she isn’t needed in season 2. You remove her, and nothing would change. No her own arc – we had smth akin to the beginning of it in ep.3, but next episode it was forgotten.
Mobius
At last I see Mobius as he was intended to be in regards to Loki! There’s a huge dissonance between his behavior towards Loki in season 1 and season 2. Now he actually acts as if he likes Loki, as he was always promoted to do. My general feeling was much more positive. If we forget everything that happened in season 1, I’d say ‘yes, they are friends’.
I’m not diving into nature of fascism that is represented by Mobius and the TVA, more was said by other fans.
Ouroboros
I liked him most. At least he’s funny and doesn’t mistreat Loki – and that’s a lot for this series. But what I enjoyed most – fan theories about him. When he was announced first, I read wonderful ideas that he could be a Loki variant. Ouroboros as a snake biting its tail takes its roots in Norse mythology where Jormungandr, Loki’s son, is a huge snake encircling the Earth. Ouroboros as a Loki variant or a Loki’s son from another timeline would be a real homage to the myths and a really cool and unexpected decision opening up lots of plot and character development possibilities.
But of course, the creatives had no idea about this connection. I doubt they know who Jormungandr is at all, much less any symbolism derived from that.
Casey and B-15
Frankly, I don’t understand why Casey is paid that much attention. I only remember him appearing in s.1 ep.1 not knowing what ‘fish’ was and Loki threatening him. Suddenly he’s Loki’s friend and even given a backstory.
B-15 is Verity Willis. Fuck the comics, apparently. No truth powers, not Loki’s best friend. What’s the point, then? Ah, silly me, a cool Easter egg, of course. Again, just as in case with Mobius, a huge shift of personality between seasons. What bothered me is that she continues using her number instead of her actual name in the end of ep.6. At least the creatives could’ve given her a new name if in-universe she couldn’t associate herself with ‘Verity’ anymore. As in ‘TCW’ we have ‘Fives’ who derived his name from his number ‘CT-5555’, B-15 could be ‘Beenie’ or ‘Bea’ or smth.
In conclusion
A skin-crawling beige swamp of intriguing details to pick apart, some great philosophical ideas that could’ve been explored, and mess in the writers’ heads, with some hummocks of disdain to Loki and stumps of slaughtered worldbuilding.
But I don’t care much, sitting on a cozy beach of good Loki fanfiction and sipping ‘good Loki characterization’ plots in the warmth of ficwriters’ love for him.

Self - Honesty
Self-Expression
Unrestricted dopamine intake.
Carbs are dopamine.
Self-entertainment is dopamine.
I've learned recently that things like this should be delayed until the end of the day, once work is done and you no longer need to utilize hyper-focus.
Which makes a lot of sense.
So, when I evaluated my daily dopamine intake, it was just a free for all.
So, I'm not going to delay these points until 8pm.
Or longer depending if I'm with a potential client or not.
Delaying carbs until the evening can help you stay hyper-focused during the day because of how carbohydrates affect your blood sugar, insulin levels, and brain chemistry. Here’s why:
1. Stable Blood Sugar and Energy Levels
Eating carbs in the morning can cause a spike in blood sugar, leading to a crash later, making you feel sluggish or foggy.
Keeping carbs low earlier in the day encourages stable blood sugar, reducing energy dips and improving focus.
2. Increased Dopamine and Norepinephrine (Brain Chemicals for Focus)
A low-carb, high-protein breakfast increases dopamine and norepinephrine, which enhance alertness, motivation, and focus.

I realize that carbs, self-entertainment, etc are things that just make sense to reward self with at the end of the day anyway.
Plus you're avoiding that dopamine crash.
I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to not be disciplined within my carb intake.

I realize the effect these things are having on me during the hours of the day I should be hyper-focused and absolutely alert.

I realize that another reason why to delay these habits to the end of the day is that we no longer have to be hyper-focused and once we fall asleep our dopamine levels normalize and essentially reset for the following day.

Items in which I would normally go out of my way to go and get because they are not at my local grocery store.
I commit myself to condition myself to get the reward dopamine sensation from helping families with education and building my business.
I commit myself to improve my focus and try my best to have laser-like focus during the day until I'm done around 8pm at which point I can reward myself for a good days work.

Hello dutchie! I've re-read your fics multiple times now and now I want to write my own! I have to ask: do you have any writing tips or advice about fanfic in general? I enjoy your pacing but I have no clue how you manage to update every week. Cheers!
OH MY GOD EEEEE ;___; IM SO HAPPY TO HEAR THAT MY FRIEND!! AND HIII ^_^ that's so awesome im so proud of you!!! hmm idk if i'm really a great person to get advice from, this is just stuff that works for me personally and my hectic irl schedule so just take it with a grain of salt!! ;-; <3 BUT i will gladly talk about it HEHE!! i'll actually just make an entire post about my writing process at some point because making long posts forces me to reflect and i'm overdue for a Self Reflection on how i write so! if/when i do that i'll link it back on this post heh ^_^ BUT ANYWAY!
i have a few Personal Rules about posting/writing fic that i must never break... and this is...:
feel free to break up your (longer) fic into parts. this prevents SO much burnout and gives you time to breathe between writing! if you're in it for the long haul like me, it's easy to get overwhelmed and feel like you're on a Crunch, which is never good! :'(
so i don't technically write a new chapter every week and post it on friday; i've had malus, for example, complete for a few months now! and so now it just "posts on a queue" where i just upload the next chapter every week! so for example, if malus is 21 chapters, at 1 chapter a week, that gives me 21 weeks (about 5 months) to write my next fic. that's a lot of time!
always finish the fic before you post it. this seems super unrealistic At First but i love the "arc/seasons/parts" style of posting, especially if it's long fics. nobody's saying you have to finish a 293849283498234 chapter fic in one day LOL but if you find that you're overwhelmed at the idea of writing Long Fics, then don't write one! write shorter parts that Combine and Create a long fic! :-) see what i mean? this is also an effective way to show time passing in your fic instead of just "~*~ two years later ~*~"-type of disclaimers.
chapters shouldn't be more than like... 3 google doc pages and paragraphs should be broken up. i like keeping my fic chapters short-ish so that they're easily digestible and force readers to Linger on the parts that i want them to. giant walls of text can sometimes put Huge Moments in your fics at the risk of getting lost!
let yourself sit on it for at least 2 days before you post it. do not read your own fic during the "sitting on it" time. let yourself back away from it and invite your mind to think about other things!! i've caught a LOT of my own mistakes or inconsistencies this way!
much easier said than done, but try not to let yourself get wrapped up in "the numbers" of posting (views, kudos, etc). obviously our goal as creatives is to get our work seen, but please remember to value yourself and your art above the numbers game! ;-; it literally took me a year (as of january lol) of constantly promoting my fics on twt (and later on here once i made an acct) before i found all of the amazing readers i have now! ^u^ and i wouldn't trade them for the world. i'd happily take 10 readers who comment and talk to me like a person over 100 hits/kudos or whatever!
that being said, don't be afraid to promote your fics. i felt annoying and stupid promoing mine but i'm ultimately so glad i did
there are probably others but i think these are my biggest ones (other than delving into like. tf2-specific "guides" i have for myself but i won't bore you with those). as far as tips for outlining or planning, i just have a channel in my gf and i's server dedicated to my fic that i post random snippet's i've written and want to include, random one-word concepts, like literally any time my brain has a Fic Related Thought i slap it in there. i'm also a huge fan of Linear/Traditional outlining too and do that with my more Complicated/Larger concepts that i want to execute in my fics so that i can stay consistent! :-)

Miche watched her from Erwin’s office as she left the headquarters to enjoy a well-deserved break. The evening sun highlighted her brunette curls, stopping just below her delicate shoulders. It was a shame really, her hair used to touch her waist when she first joined. She was so incredibly shy and anxious back then, struggling to find her place among younger people that were much stronger than her. He remembered back when she declined the promotion for the sake of her happiness. It had been 3 years since y/n joined the survey corps at the age of 20. She was a late beginner, but her analytical skills, a fateful emotional meltdown and a background in research had soon gotten her a place under section commander Hange. Y/n was not good as a fighter, but she was observant, more than Erwin and Hange. Miche could not help but notice her, she was cute after all. She had flaws, just like everyone else, but the veteran soldier was drawn to her in particular. He couldn’t remember when he felt like that for the first time. Maybe it was when he saw her for the first time, clutching a soiled handwritten application and trying her hardest to put on a brave face. Who knows? Who cares? The important part was that he liked her, she did not know and he was not going to tell.

Miche went back to focusing on the meeting. y/n had already disappeared in the next lane, so there was no point looking outside. The meeting would go on for hours, as usual, veterans had no holidays.
Meanwhile, y/n made herself comfortable near the quiet riverbank. It was one of the few attractions in the little land of Paradis, especially after the fall of Wall Maria. The serene river glowed red under the now darkening sun rays. Y/n had about 30 minutes to draw something, after which it would get too dark. Problem was, y/n had no idea what to draw. So she just sat there, wondering about her life. It seemed self-indulgent to refuse work only to get out and ponder about herself, but she needed it. The chaos inside the headquarters hardly did her any good. She wanted quiet and peace, but what she had right now was just pure loneliness. Y/n had friends, but nobody close or free enough to sit under the open night sky. So she sat all alone over the wall, the cold breeze ruffling her hair. If only there were someone to hold her.
“Bottomline, all of you must prepare your squads for next month’s expedition. We can’t afford to compromise manpower. Pay attention to the weak members, we need them to come back alive. You all are dismissed.”
Miche walked out of Erwin’s office and went straight to his room that he shared with Dieter, another squad leader. He felt tired, as though he knew what was about to come. A lot of action and a shit ton of casualties, not to forget all the rigorous training he was about to deliver on the cadets.
“What a long day..”
“Tomorrow’s going to be longer, Ness.”
“Yeah.”
“Do you think you will make it through the expedition?”
Miche scrunched his nose at the odd yet totally reasonable question. Him and Dieter served the scout regiment since their teenage years, yet they never quite got used to the anxiety before impending doom. Against his overbearing stress, Miche gave him a positive answer hoping to lift his spirits.
“I will make it out alive, Ness. The most damage I will end up with is a lost limb, after which I will retire and live a peaceful life. Don’t worry.” Miche finished with his signature scoff, masking his true emotions. The shameless, pretentious display of cockiness was all worth the little chuckle from Ness, the most sociable, tender man among veterans.
They made their way to the dining hall after chit chatting and freshening up. Their tables had the usual serving of bread, soup and vegetables. His eyes scanned the place for the owner of those beautiful, crazy curls, y/n, she should have been back by now. He couldn’t see her anywhere. Usually it was so easy to spot her in her corner seat. Perhaps Hange assigned her some work, but he couldn’t risk revealing his crush by asking the overly-energetic squad leader. So he quietly finished his plate, feeling just a little hint of emptiness because he missed y/n.
“Nifa, find y/n and tell her I want her in the lab tomorrow at 6am sharp.” Mike overheard Hange speaking from a couple of tables away.
“Yes captain.” Nifa quickly finished her meal and left the dining hall and eventually the headquarters. Her face made it clear that she had done this several times now and Miche was not surprised. Y/n was often in her own head and stayed out for a long time. Miche just found it unusual for her to stay out this late. It was cold outside, no person in their right mind would stay out past 8pm. He wished he knew what was going on inside the girl’s head that made her personality so withdrawn, but he did not have the time. He needed to draft a schedule for this week’s training and tests for the cadets. Just the thought of sitting in an office doing paperwork with a candlelight flickering throughout the night made him feel calm. He was extremely skilled on the field, but he liked doing paperwork too. His studious side was something only his immediate squad and other veterans were familiar with. Sometimes he couldn’t help fantasizing about sharing his study with y/n. Aside from his feelings, y/n had the brains to draft a perfect test that tapped into all the necessary skills for the next expedition. After all, that was what she had been doing before joining the survey corps, albeit in a different field. Miche stopped in his tracks as an idea struck him. He felt dumb, so dumb. He had drafted so many tests, all by himself, fully knowing that there was someone that could probably do it better than him. Fully knowing that y/n had been a psychology student, and she had perfected the theory subjects after joining the survey corps. He turned around and approached Hange.
“Would you mind if I borrow one of your soldiers for a while?”
“That depends, Miche, who are you talking about?”
“Y/n, I need her help drafting the tests tonight. I think she can do a good job.”
“You are right.. I’ll let her know.”
“Tell her to be in my office by 9;30 tonight.”
Miche left for his office to begin work, he wanted to finish as much as he could before y/n showed up. Because work was not the only thing he was concerned about. He knew exactly what he was doing, it was dubious, but he needed to do it. It was funny how a few hours ago he thought he’d never confess his feelings, but later created an opportunity to do that exact thing. He couldn’t believe himself.

It was 9;30 sharp, and Miche heard a soft knock on his office door.
“Come in, it’s unlocked, and take a seat before me.” He said without lifting his head.
Y/n made herself comfortable and glanced over three open books and a single page. Miche was writing down questions.
“Alright y/n, I need your help drafting the question papers for tomorrow’s tests. Of course, you will be exempted from actually taking the test as a reward.”
“Understood, sir”
“Good, now I want you to create 30 questions that combine the concepts of formations, weaponry and strategy. Make them difficult, and make sure to base it upon the last 5 expeditions.”
“Alright-”
“You have 2 hours to finish this.”
“Okay..” y/n walked over to the bookshelf and grabbed a heap of books. Miche raised his eyebrows in confusion,
“How are you going to refer to that many books and finish it within time?” Miche questioned her.
“I will, don’t worry.” y/n’s sudden confidence took him aback.
“Well good luck.”
Time flew by quickly as both of them were engrossed in their work, the only sounds coming from the candle and turning of pages. It wasn’t peaceful to be precise, y/n was turning pages with such aggression it made the section commander steal glances at her. She would flip through the pages and write down important points, constantly checking the time as she worked. Her handwriting got messier as time flew by and Miche couldn’t help but notice. He could tell that y/n totally had the plan to give those cadets a hard time. She had a weak, but cocky smirk the whole time, and Miche was just glad that he was not one of the people that would need to take the test. He knew that expression and aggressive handwriting very well. She always wore that smirk while writing exams, and everytime she came out on top. Miche knew she was overcompensating for her sub-par physique and iron-deficiency that interfered with her ODM skills, but that semblance of confidence on her face always turned him on. Her hair was still messed up, she struggled to keep that twisted fringe out of her face.
“Where’s the ruler?!” Y/n asked loudly, shaking Miche out of his trance.
“Wait
” He fished out a ruler from the clutter in his drawer and handed it to y/n.
“What are you drawing?”
“A wrong diagram of the latest formation.” Y/n replied curtly.
“I see.. Good.”
Miche was organizing his drawer after finishing his work when y/n handed him the tests. It was 11;30 sharp. The ink had somehow gotten between y/n’s fingers. Miche went through all seven pages of three extremely complicated tests and shot a glance at y/n, who looked like she was awaiting his praise. She was sitting with her back straight, wide eyed and messy hair. Miche chuckled, and y/n smiled. She knew she had done those cadets dirty with her questions.
“You have a naughty side, don’t you?” “Kitten” , was the term Miche refrained from using at the end.
Y/n nodded with a cheeky grin. The section commander squinted and got up from his chair, towering over her. A faint blush crept over her cheeks as she broke eye contact with him, staring down at her feet instead. Her delicate shoulders now looked tensed up under her transparent, embroidered shoulder shawl. The pile of paperwork didn’t allow him to notice her beautiful blush pink dress. She had embroidered little flowers to accentuate her figure all the way down to her hips.
“You look beautiful in that dress.” Miche blurted out, causing her to blush harder and breathe unevenly.
“Thank you, sir..”
“Look at me when you speak.”
“O-okay..” she slowly raised her head, still not wanting to make eye contact.
“I will be straight to the point y/n
 I like you, not just as a comrade.”
“Understood.” y/n was taking quick, short breaths, causing the tall blonde to get on his knees. She had gone back to her timid mouse state and he could no longer read her.
“Are you scared right now?” Miche tried hard to not sound like a creep.
“No, I like you too!”
“That’s -” he began to speak but got cut off.
“More than a comrade, if you were wondering
” she trailed off shyly. Miche kept staring at her, dumbstruck at her honest confession. This whole time he had no idea about her feelings.
"When were you planning to tell me ..?" Miche asked, pulling a chair behind him. He was still leaning towards y/n with an expression of pure shock.
"I
 Never planned on saying anything." Y/n's expression saddened as she looked at him with her doe eyes.
"I can understand.". he was telling the truth. The realisation that their confessions were a result of his impulsive decision dawned on him. He couldn't take his eyes off her form. She looked anxious, fondling with her pendant in one hand.
"Do you want to take this further?" Y/n asked with a shaky voice, and his answer was immediate.
"Yes."
She looked straight into his eyes and smiled.
"Can I kiss you?" The 35 year old man felt like a teenager trying to walk on eggshells. The woman before him giggled and nodded in approval, finally lifting her hand from the pendant. She was starting to settle down, although the butterflies in her stomach made it difficult. Miche was about to lean in when she stopped him and got up from her chair.
"I forgot to lock the door." She said naughtly.

Hi! I have a short story I'm writing and would like some help 1. Editing and 2. Figuring out how to post/market it?? I don't want to post it on AO3 since it's original and I might want to write a couple and publish them together, but I don't know how to get started on that or where to go to do it. Would you recommend some kind of patreon??? Or should I post it somewhere else that would allow me to publish it later?? đŸ€” very confused and thought you might have advice. Thanks!

Can't recommend Critique Circle highly enough. Feel free to try out other places, but I've definitely had the best luck finding quality crit partners there; moreso even than at paid sites.
Pro Tip: you will learn far more about editing from giving critiques than from getting them; it trains your brain to self-edit, and gets around that filter that makes it hard to see errors in your own writing. Many's the time I've pointed out a weak point in someone else's story, then had a fridge logic moment of "...Wait, that's in my story, too."
If you want additional how-to-find-good-crit-partners-on-the-internet tips, that's a whole 'nother post (and one I will gladly write).
Publishing:
Unless you have some kind of overwhelming preference, always start at the highest paid market that suits your story and work your way down.
A good place to start looking for markets is at professional societies for your genre; they usually maintain "qualifying markets" lists for membership requirements, aka "these are the places that don't pay utter crap and which we therefore acknowledge as not trying to screw our writers over". For example, the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America's membership requirements, with qualifying markets list. I've found it helpful to make a spreadsheet of markets that's sortable by pay rate. If anyone wants the SFF version of such a list, hit me up, I can share my doc.
Patreon et al:
Sites like this work best if you already have an established fanbase. Most writers I've seen working this angle have started with publishing through free platfoms (forums, Tumblr, Royal Road, etc) and link to their Patreon/Ko-fi/whatever from there. Patreon-type sites do not promote you, so unless you've got a strong following somewhere else, directly starting there won't get you anywhere. Doesn't hurt to start one early and link it with your free content, though. Patreons also favor those who can keep up a steady, prolific content stream; for a singular short story, I'd try for the pro magazine market first.
(Most pro publications only buy the rights to the first publication of your story, so you'd also be able to re-post that content to a Patreon later. Get paid twice!)
