Hey, we can do three-day polls now, cool! Time for a quick poll about a subject near and dear to my heart; coffee.

#so i am usually a tea drinker and rarely a normal coffee w/ little sugar drinker bc they don't make it that well at many places here #but in this one coffee shop my go to coffee order is dirty chai latte and it has cinnamon - i know hozier recoils but it is the warmest #coziest thing ever and i am always embarrassed to say it but it is just delicious

If you feel like reading the Henrietta Lacks book in English, or any other one that you can't find locally, i recommend kennys.ie for ordering a copy in English! I've learned not to fully rely on something I like being translated/reprinted/series finished locally lol

omg so real on that last part, i can't even count how many books i read in english for that reason only

and thank you so much for the site i'll be sure to check it out! I have a library to visit after the new year's bc this one was translated luckily so there is a small chance they have it, but honestly if the site has good shipping rates i'll probably overuse it, bc publishers here love not finishing series and i missed my chance when book depository was still alive to stock up

OK so I don't usually bring personal stuff to this blog but I am being hunted for sport by my book club for the way I read my books and I just want to check how badly I have misjudged what is "normal" in this situation lol

So far I have been called "unhinged", "profoundly disturbed" and a number of variations thereupon for my habit of just... closing the book. Which I guess isn't what everyone else is doing. Apparently.

Also please, if you have very strong feelings about this, yell to your heart's content - I can direct you to an entire book club of people who will yell right along with you 😅

#i try to use bookmarks bc i have a lot of pretty one's but i forget abt them sometimes #i do often put whatever is near tho so if a bookmark is not near anything will do #if i am going on a short break i will put it face down like if i want to go to get the tea from the kitchen etc #and i used to dog ear my pages when i was a kid #so tbh i feel like they are all pretty normal immersed reading things #the only one i don't get and my mom does it too and that is remembering the page you were on #but i read multiple books at the same time a lot of the time so it could be the reason i find it so strange
