~feeling horrible bc i'm not going to the protest today bc i have a shit phone and fear i would get hurt and I have no way to store the information of who I should call and I kinda also don't have a doctor to name~
#i'm probably going to spend the evening feeling scared that somebody is going to get hurt bc it is a peaceful protest but it does not mean#violent people won't come to suffocate it and i am just sitting home in pure disbelief of the threat the president made that is like not#supposed to be taken as a threat but it is and i am pissed that it is working on me and that i am weak and i do not have a friend group#to go with so i can you know feel less like i will get run over or smth but bc of the shit phone and the instagram ban(for no reason)#i cant even call them and check if they are coming too and stuff :D#moral of the story is do not be weak like me#be louder in your support

I wish I was a stress cleaner. Never once has my response to stress been “time to employ some good habits”

I love how Terry Pratchett weaves these interesting, beautiful, inspiring ideas through his stories only to find 3/4th of the way through it was all build up for an incredibly cheap pun.

every time i see someone call kirk and spock the oldest ship, i'm filled with the urge to go "hmm actually the holmes and watson girlies have been here for a hundred years now", and i refrain because i know the natural conclusion of this game is gilgamesh and enkidu
#Not the jesus x judas erasure#<- tbf gilgameshxenkidu was bce but i agree with not enough ppl mentioning these two

you ever have situations that make you want to take people by the shoulders and go "you are not 15 any longer. this behavior is no longer quirky and cute. it is exhausting for you and everyone else to act like a teenager you haven't been in a decade or longer. knock it the fuck off"

any monk born after 1436 doesn't know how to truly devote themselves to christ... all they know is be late for matins, copy they manuscripts, contemplative herb garden walk, be bisexual, eat eels and lie

the bitches fell and only flowers of algernon, heartstopper 5 and the fifth season stayed on, which could mean smth but to me it means i just need a nice glue that will accept my strong will<3
my ugly little books are looking homey on the tree i impulsively set up last night (i impulse bought some decoration bc i was sent to the store for the tree lights so of course i had to black out and put them on while watching/listening to burlesque)
#also i bought more decorations today and they are ADORABLE#the tree will have the books that look like they have been saved from the sea a tad bit too late#(and i will curse jo with her choices soon enough<3)

i forgot how hard it was when i read manhwa that was coming out, but at the very least when i got desperate i could find the untranslated work or the light novel, but with ao3??? suffering and praying that the authors life is well, that their family is nice this winter season and that their life is healthy and uneventful so they can post their chapters consistently
#its got like 12 kudos#but i am a committed person okay#i will be a consistent cheerleader i just need more chapters#(stories are like crack to me yes i do wake up and check every day)#0 notes to me

« If you have to ask yourself where you will find the time to read, it means the desire isn’t there. Because no one has the time to read. Children don’t, teenagers don’t, adults don’t. Life is a perpetual obstacle to reading.
“Reading, I’d love to, but what with my job, the kids, the housework, I don’t have the time.” “You have so much time to read—I envy you!”
How is it that Ms X, who works, runs errands, raises kids, drives her car, loves three men, goes to her dentist appointment, is moving next week—how is it that she finds the time to read […]?
Time spent reading is always time stolen. Like time spent writing, for that matter, or time spent loving. Stolen from what? Let’s say, from the duty of living. Which is probably why the subway—this stinking symbol of the duty of living—is the world’s largest reading room.
Time spent reading, like time spent loving, increases our lifetime.
If we were to consider love from the point of view of our schedule, who would bother? Who among us has time to fall in love? Yet have you ever seen someone in love not take the time to love? I’ve never had the time to read. Yet nothing has ever stopped me from finishing a novel I loved.
Reading doesn’t belong to the societal organisation of time. Like love, it is a way of being. The issue is not whether or not I have the time to read (no one will ever give me that time) but whether or not I will gift myself the happiness of being a reader. »
— Daniel Pennac, Better Than Life
