Happy Ruin Eclipse Day! 🎉

May 19th marks the anniversary for the day the first FNAF Security Breach: Ruin DLC trailer was revealed! In celebration Ruin Eclipse's first appearance I'll be opening a magma collab board from today!

This will be a multi day-long themed magma collab where we'll be aiming to try add as many Eclipses as we can on one page! (This includes AUs and variations! Sun and Moons and their variations/AUs are also allowed!)

Remember! The board will be open and available for at least 3 days from when this is posted! This give people a chance to join if they are busy for the opening day or generally need time to finish their art!

Fontcest May Event- What is it?

this is an event during the week of May 5th through May 11th (that's Sunday through Saturday)

there is a couple lists of possible prompts, but you can create whatever you like!

no pressure, just Fontcest, Papcest, and Sanscest fun!

artists and writers alike are welcome to participate, and 18+ and darker content creators are welcome to do their thing!

Getting this out of my brain before this evening, so here's how the teams are looking right now as of Day 1:

Green People are the ones who were present for the event (or logged on recently), and although they don't stream as often as some of the others (- Pac), there is some hope of them logging in more often for the duration of it.

Orange People are the ones who were present for the event (or logged on recently), but they haven't been on for a while or have some special lore going on.

Red People were the ones absent for the event, and have been absent for a while now in general.

(Disclaimer: this is my own analysis, I don't watch that many POVs so some of these might be a miss!)

I wanted to get it out here to explain my thinking, with how many active members each team has (active as in, they log on rather regularly): 8 on Green, 8* on Blue, and then 5 people on Red.

*I counted Pac and Missa here since Missa has been getting on more lately, and Pac will probably be back soon (?)

Now I'm not saying picking one person off Green and one person off Blue and adding them to Red would even out the teams, but...

Soul solstice at the wizard tower!

Allow me to set the scene!

On your way to the Party you encounter…..

Thick trees that turn day to night here, as a heavy mist crawls eerily across the well lit footpaths. A perfectly spooky setup for the coming holiday!

For those traveling these roads in and out of the forest surrounding the Wizards Tower with their sacks and buckets decorated for the season, they might notice shapes of various sizes moving in the darkness, hands popping out of the mist, beckoning you closer.

Do you dare?

Should you, you will find the hands have little home made treats to give to those brave souls! Those hands belong to the scores of creatures who live in the forest! Centaurs, dragons, imps, fae and so on. Seems they had a good harvest and wish to share their spoils with the good people coming to the party! All safe to eat!

As you finally leave the confines of your forest path you find that the thick mist has followed you here to the clearing as well! It comes spilling out of the forest inching across the waters of the lake where you know The wizards tower lie on the small island in the middle. But the mist obscures your view of it!

However as you step into your petal boat and begin your journey across the lake you can see…

Strange lights that float around the misty lake, some stagnant, others dart across under the waters. What could they be?….

Oh!

The ones above water are Gourd lanterns sitting in the center of their own Small flower boats! Their lights glow bright in the mist as they lazily bob along the waters surface. One spell keeps them from rotting, a secondary spell allows them to make spooky faces at guests as a mini sun lights them up from within!

But what are the lights below the lake?! Are those…eyes!?!

Oh my!

Its the mermaids! They have invited some deep sea cousins to glow and roam about to join in the festivities! They pop up out of the water to wave to Passers by in the Petal boats!

As you grow ever closer to the tower your ears pick up eerie sounds….

Ha! Its just a theremin and someone playing the saw! Some of the locals are playing them to add to the ambiance! They wave from the islands shore as you begin to land.

As you depart the boats your senses are bombarded with sights, smells and sounds!

Lantern Gourds dot the landscape, line the paths about the island and invite guests into the Tower. The smell of food wafting from the windows, the sounds of laughter and joyous screams drift in the air.

You have made it to your destination! But now, which way should you go?

Do you take the gourd lit path around the island?

Should you, you will find the still locked up greenhouses on either side of the tower.

But along the sides of one of the greenhouses you find various magic mirrors playing horror films and living floral chairs waiting for you to join the ranks of the moviegoers!

Along the side of the other Greenhouse, the mirrors play dancey spooky music and gently change colours! People laugh and twirl about in their costumes! What a fun little dance party!

The more direct path leads straight into the mouth of the tower. Dare you enter this once accursed place?

You do! And as you do you are greeted by those that care and run the tower. An alien Lizard chitters at you, baring her fangs in a smile. A Dragon halfling blows a small flame above your head. A Vampire draws his cape and hisses. The Mage of the tower who just so happens to be a Goblin waves her hand and little sparks fly from her fingertips! Welcome to the party! Lets go check it out!

First stop!

The main lobby, the heart of the tower is decked out in tavern finery! The bar and tables are chock full of snacks and drinks. Spiced wood burning in the fire and a calm happy chatter floats about the room.

Lets move down to the basement! Specifically the library!

The basement of the tower is hosting all manner of spooky stories with accompanying play actors. They dance and shriek and mock as the teller of tales spins their web of words to the captivated audience.

Passing back up from the basement, passed the lobby to the next floor we find

Levi’s apothecary shop! It is a buzz with children giddily wrapping and decorating little dolls in bandages. Older children brew their own flavored gummy treats in teeny little cauldrons. And we mustn’t forget the adults too! The adults get to brew their own flavored alcoholic drinks in their own teeny Cauldrons!

Lets move up a floor!

Svetzas office/ antiquities room Is holding an interactive demonstration on mildly cursed objects! They give the users animal parts of a wide variety or change their voices, make them float, turn their hair colours and other gentle curses that last till sunrise unless asked to be de-hexed/cursed.

Last floor!

The Healing room is kept quiet for those who need a place of respite from all the hustle and bustle of the party. Gentle sounds of water and nature drift through the dimly lit room. Beds are ready and waiting for people to nap. Mats by the fireplace are ready for meditation. Its a really calm atmosphere.

So dear guest, where will you go first?

Day 7 of Fighting Dystopia

I cleaned up my garden this morning. I now have six empty pots ready for my next gardening adventure and two new pothos propagations in repurposed glass soda bottles. Everything is pruned, watered, and cared for. I feel refreshed and fulfilled. Everything is thriving.

I wanted to ask you, do you have any advise in making meta analisys? I'm interested in making some analysis on the dsmp lore once i finish the lore and start watching the vod closely. But i feel kind of intimidated by seeing how people can be rude to each other when talking about the lore and a bit lost on how to interact with other's analisys. And wanted to know if you have any advise for people who want to start on the meta analysis part of the fandom?

Well, I'd hardly call myself an expert since well... I'm not exactly one of the ogs here and I'm getting the impression there are many people here who don't exactly like what I have to say, but you ask so I'll give you my two cents and hope I don't lead you a stray.

You will probably notice a variety of how people go about their analysis. I wouldn't say there is a right or wrong way, it's not like we are professionals or anything, we are just having fun looking at a story and its elements. Some people take that too seriously, which is unfortunate since at the end of the day we are talking about characters of some Minecraft roleplay series. But it's easy in a writing format to come across the wrong way and make people feel attacked, because there isn't tone or body language and stuff.

Anyways, here are I guess some of the things I keep in mind.

There is a difference in fact and opinion, and just because I see things a certain way doesn't make it fact or the other person wrong, so the way I make sure to highlight this is through statements like - "the way I see it" "in my mind" "in my opinion" "personally I see it as" "I think" "I feel like" "It is interesting to me"... etc phrases to emphasize that this is my opinion, but that is not the end all be all. I also like to include plenty of "perhaps" "maybe" "I don't knows" and legitimate questions in there. I do this to hopefully open it up to say - hey this is how I see it - which hopefully comes across as less as me correcting them but just adding thoughts. One of the things that frustrates me sometimes, is that I see people say things as if they just are facts and true when they aren't necessarily. Something that further frustrates me when no evidence or way for me to see for myself is provided. Which is why I also try to provide, links, clips, quotes and stuff so people don't have to just take my word for it. Not to say I am always great about doing this or that it is always required, there are some things that are just more wildly known so it's not needed to cite everything. My rule of thumb for this is if it's more obscure or not common knowledge, so whether it's word specific, a scene not talked about, an like an academic source (or if I just so happen to have it clipped or written down lol XD). Not that you have to do either of those things of course, it's very much up to you how you want to do it, this is just how I do it because my autism engineer ass likes the facts and the why and how of things. Like if you say 'c!Dream's hair is green' I'm like - okay, that's an opinion, good for you - but if you say 'I think Dream's hair is green and this is why', then I'm a lot more interested in what you have to say, but again that's just me. It is worth noting also, that I'd say don't insult someone's intelligence or person because of something they said about a Minecraft boy at 3am ya know? Try to avoid being derogatory or nasty. You don't have to respect their opinion or agree, but you should respect them as a person, a person with the right to say something on the internet without being bashed because people don't like it. I would say it is better to say I think 'this take is dumb', not 'you are dumb' because of this take (though also probably best to avoid dumb in general as it is kinda derogatory and rude but hopefully you get the gist). It can also be nice to highlight something you agree with or liked that the other person said to make sure you're not being all negative and give them credit when you are agreeing and adding to a statement so they don't think you are correcting them.

Other things I do, to hopefully not come across aggressive is not using all caps or exclamation points - cuz in my mind I'm like why are you yelling at me ya know :( - I prefer italics and bold and sometimes capitalizing words, but that's just how I do it because I noticed that those things make me feel attacked whether or not that person meant it that way. Sometimes people will straight up say they are done, but sometimes it may be is less directly, so in general I'd say if the other person doesn't seem to want to engage further or has conceded in any way, big or small, they are probably done talking about it. When you go past that mark, then they will definitely feel more like they're being attacked (I think this is one of the things I run into with asks as I feel done, but they continue it on (which of course I know why, they may not have gotten to share their points on the matter yet or whatever) and I'm always torn on whether to continue, because I may also just feel tired of talking about it). I'd say also either ask them permission directly or in your response, like sometimes I'll say - "I hope it's okay if I add on" because that person may not want to engage. And if it's about direct statements or arguments, then make sure the other person is made aware, like if I'm responding to tags I try and tag that person. Or if I am building off of what someone said in a different direction I might also tag them, or go to their ask box, go to the comments, or whatever. It doesn't feel good to have people pick apart what you said without being given a chance to defend yourself. Assume the best in people, they may not be trying to be a certain way, and the way you read something may not be the way they meant and I'd say it's always better to ask for clarification then take something the wrong way. (I'd say that genrally about real life too - like if you don't know a word someone is using, ask them to define or clarify, to most people it shows you are actually listening so they are more than happy to explain)

General rule - be respectful and kind, remember to not take things too seriously cuz we are talking about characters after all. We are all here to engage in something we love. <3

Also in regards to analysis and lore, I'd say be aware of bias and context and assumptions, keeping in mind are you looking at something from a character's point of view or an outsider.

Shrub Club: episode 4

'Ah, if only I knew more people that could understand my love for chomping cabbages,' Meech sighs as he feeds one of his 'little' toothy friends.

This particular one grew to be the healthiest in the batch and the Gryffindor still insisted on giving it a little extra each meal. The temperature and humidity of the freshly built greenhouse are close to their Professor's classroom so Demetrius moved his chomps here as soon as he could. He was convinced that they would start biting Leander's ankles if Meech left them in his care for too long. Not that he doesn't trust his dormmate. But he knows his cabbages too well. Whatever the girls did with their charmwork, the cabbages thrived in their greenhouse.

Demetrius didn't realize at first that he talked about his love for cabbages out loud. He turns around to look at the other members of the Shrub Club with his typical frown. Anyone who has known him for long enough knows that he's not really frowning. That's just how his face is.

'That was... rhetorical,' he mumbles. 'How has the decorating been going? I assume everyone agrees with Wren's idea of a beautiful Hawthorne growing under the main dome?'

The Gryffindor doesn't want to sound sentimental when he brings up The Tree but the thought still makes him feel cozy inside. Meech has been expecting a beautiful sapling to arrive all morning today (his gramps pitched in) and now that they are all gathered here after classes he is uncharacteristically nervous. Meech continues.

'I couldn't find a way to get a tree in here that is already as big as on Wren's sketch but I... We got some help with a very powerful fertilizer from Professor Garlick. Our tree should grow in a matter of hours and we get a chance to shape the branches and prune it as it goes. If you guys... want to do it together?'

The flapping of the wings is heard from the outside and Meech hurries over to accept the long-awaited green guest.

'Ta-da,' the Gryffindor says a little awkwardly but surprisingly with a huge grin on his scared face and a delicate sapling in his hands.

Today is the 21st and you know what that means? It's the Reveal-versary/Birthday of Sun and Moon! But this also means it marks the opening day of the DCA Reveal-versary magma collab!

Two boards will be open for artists from now until Tuesday the 26th Thursday the 28th so long as there's space to cram stuff in at the time (though this is depending how fast it gets filled up.)

The Reveal-versary collab is split into two boards here's a rundown of each:

The Party room: The main board where you can join Sun and Moon to celebrate their birthday! Remember to grab a party hat, party poppers or a slice of cake if you wish!

The Snack table: A secondary board where you can grab a snack of your choice or/and add one of your own! The table is catered by a pair of little guys that seem oddly familiar.

Before jumping in here's the rules:

No NSFW

Only 1 character per board - (For now. You can also add a snack of your choice alongside your character to add to the snack table board! Make sure to finish your character on one board before starting in the other though!)

Keep your character a reasonable size - (We shouldn't fill the space too fast so other artists can join after all, so no huge or gigantic characters taking most of the space.)

Finish your art of your character! / Merge layers when finished - (No uncoloured pieces please, characters included are to be coloured in someway. This is a multi-day event so don't feel pressured to do it all in one go!)

Try to interact with the scene - (If you can, try to have your character add to the scene, one of the best parts of a collab is seeing how characters interact!)

Inform me when you've finished your character and which board it's on. (Either in the chat there, ask box or reply to this post. I will be taking notes on who has participated on what boards and will include the names on the post when the final collab images are unveiled!)

Magma side note: There's a layer limit with the free plan, artists will have to make sure merge their layers when they're finished so new ones can be made for others. There is a limit of 30 people on a canvas/board at one time so if it'll be busy wait a little while.

i haven't read the light novels, or i might have missed something in the timeline, but would yosano and kouyou know each other? (obviously not a prerequisite for shipping at all lol i just got curious) since yosano left the port mafia when she was so young

I mean, this is not the answer I was going for initially, but after thinking about it for a while, very technically speaking they must be aware of each other's existence on canon basis. It's implied Yosano healed Kouyou when she was taken hostage by the ada: it's logic that she would have never allowed the ada to capture her unless she couldn't fight, yet she was doing fine once she woke up, meaning someone must have healed her up in the meantime– and the ada only has one doctor lol. Additionally, at the end of the cannibalism arc all the major ada and pm members were brought together in the same place, so according to these panels we can say for sure the two existed together in the same place at some point

I haven't read the vast majority of the novels either, but for what I know I think I can fairly confidently affirm they never interacted in any of them. Though you know, in the end it depends on what you mean by “knowing each other”: are they are aware of each other existence, yes; did they ever interact or ever even talk, eh, as far as we know, no.
