#better drawn mdzs#mdzs#wei wuxian#yiling laozu#Happy Friday the 13th!#This is scientific fact btw!#Ventilation operates through a series of active and passive forces#The active forces being muscular contraction with inhalation and exhalation having their own set of muscles.#but the interesting part is the passive forces at work:#The lungs have a certain level of elasticity to them - meaning the more they expand the more the those elastic forces are functioning-#-to try and return the system to rest (exhalation passive forces). Your diaphragm is the main force - pushing against the lungs at rest.#Your ribcage on the other hand is under a state of being pulled outwards. It *wants* to be as open as possible.#These to contradicting forces create a constant push and pull which assists in the ebb and flow of air. Most significantly with exhalation.#Now that being said - the primary action of inhalation ventilation is through control centers in your brainstem.#If you lose connection to that due to trauma you're going to need ventilation assistance.#Small note: Respiration is the cellular event of chemical exchange in the alveoli. Ventilation is airflow and pressure.#They are both important but also very different things. Sadly used interchangeably.#My anatomy nerd brain is screaming over the inaccurate ribcage...but its...recognizable. #I'm on to something here#screwtio#aventio#hsr aventurine#veritas ratio#dr ratio#screwllum#hsr#honkai star rail#now as a disclaimer I'm not personally a huge fan of aventio#exclusively because i think they are so SO much funnier as gay friends#but something about combining the two clicks really well to me#Aventurine and Screwllum would be pretty fantastic metamours i think#they'd have a lot of fun playing off each other#but also Screwllum being there to dispute Aventurine's doubts over whether or not Ratio cares as a verified outside perspective#listing off shit like upticks in heartrate pupil dialation etc on top of being like#he talks about you fondly he knows your favorite things i can personally attest that you are very evidently important to him#stuff Aventurine can't easily write off when coming from not only an outside perspective but also a literal Genius#and on the flip side Aventurine would finally have someone other than Ratio and the Trailblazer he can talk to with relative ease#someone who has also been through a frankly incredibly traumatizing historical event#someone who is also under constant pressure to perform a certain way#someone who has gained wealth and power at the cost of carrying responsibilities on his shoulders and never being truly free#appearing free to anyone who glances but neither of them really are#Screwllum seemingly able to freely pursue whatever research he wants but ultimately permanently shackled with his titles#and public pressure to be the perfect poised representative for all of inorganic kind#forever treading the line of being both a desirable ally and a sufficient threat that you wouldn't want to cross him#and similarly Aventurine stuck in his cycle that he feels only death can free him from of gambling with his life on the line#because the IPC basically owns him#because let's be honest Jade's offer was just a lifetime labor contract he couldn't refuse#granted the illusion of freedom through gaining money and power but never truly free

Sight of a Star - Blue-ish Star Ryōshū and Don Quixote
#HERES HOW BLUE-ISH STAR BELIEVERS CAN STILL WIN I PROMISE#Rendering sucks but I do like how these look very much. I hate drawing armour. big fan of dramatic shadows however.#but! as for justifications:#B-iS is an abno regarding what one so desperately wants but cannot have - possibly connecting to Blue Star and the paradise-like place-#people wish to reach by throwing themselves into it. though what is offered by B-iS is a much less refined yet as tantalising#given the text of 'The irresistible allure is almost tearing you apart' and the less refined bit being implied by both design#[jagged edges of the actual blue shape and legs like dolls - both unlike BS' much rounder and more naturalistic design]#in short it's the manifestation of impossible dreams - for Don this is her quest for a just knighthood in the City of all places#and for Ryōshū [though idk her source] it is her final work of art - the Hell Screen#when approached one's body is 'pushed away' as if a manifestation of how it is unachievable. at least it is for them#'To be truly blue the one with the true blue must be left alone in one’s blueness.'#is what I interpret as: 'to truly dream the dreamer must be left to one's fantasies'#dreams by nature do not intersect well with reality. all their flaws will be shown and they will crack under the pressure of the real world#it is why the dream pushes them away. to preserve itself. also probably has something to do with how DQ also has void dream#and this abno gives pride boosts in its event. and I personally see pride as a sort of 'self assurance' or 'self above others' so to speak#as to chase ones dreams one must think themselves the exception. as the one that can persevere over the City#plus the HP damage and the various juxtapositions in the 'forward' option may be in reference to how dreams and reality don't mix.#harming those who chase them. though all the same the 'backwards' option shows that simply tossing them aside shall hurt in its own way#to think oneself 'impure' enough to give up on chasing it is all the same resignation on your uniqueness#as for the gift: the name is possibly to do with how lower stars seem easier to reach. and the effect of damage at minus SP....#going insane dream chasing?#but to take ones leave allows for it to be left behind without any further effects. you did not look at your dreams. acknowledge them at al#but are you better off like that? not dreaming? forgetting that brilliantly unfinished star?#but anyways I hope you liked my rambles. also this abno and everything related to Blue Star is so tastefully C flavoured that I love them#and fun fact! when I was first generally mapping sinners to unfightable/EGOless abnos I entirely forgot Ryōshū somehow. which led to this.#they don't have weapons they just kick real hard and it works well enough#limbus company#ryōshū lcb#don quixote lcb#🎠🚬

#mediocre art#tokyo ghoul#On some level I think I should like Kaneki more than I do but there's this weird sense of detachment#I have not only from him but being able to perceive him as a character?#I don't even dislike him it's just that I can't feel any which way about him at all. He's a catalyst for events#feels more like the conch from Lord of the Flies or something rather than a fictional person.#He doesn't suffer and learn from the consequences#he just suffers and does what got him there again. It's arguable that the lack of punishment denies him the satisfaction#but if that's the case why does he end the story with everything working out perfectly for him?#Why do his friends oblige his flaws and accept his lack of change?#Is the problem my lack of understanding or his lack of good writing?#Is he well written?#Why do I like a certain character from a different anime who's a very similar person with very similar dynamics#but with a goal and acceptance by himself and those around him that his actions really are reprehensible and cannot truly be atoned for#not only more but to the point that he's actually one of my favorites?#Am I just sitting upon a throne of entitlement#because his thought process and experiences are not catered to be applicable to and understood by myself?#GOD IF I KNOW ANYMORE#I'm not pressuring myself to like him or anything I just don't understand anything about kaneki these days and I don't know why

listen I know a lot of science YouTube is trying to be respectful or whatever since it’s recent however I would love to see a step by step cgi rendition of what happened to the Titan. I know what happened on a technical sense, but I like to physically see it.

#blame Kat for this lmao. she got the Yangchen novels first and I very easily give in to peer pressure (that wasn't exerted. but whatever)#three days earlier than scheduled too. which worked out perfectly bc I picked them up on the way home from grandma's#and carried them for 2 km. 2 hardcover books + the thick cardboard boxset they're in#+ the backpack full of food my grandma gave me#in the rain#I nearly fucking died#I'm not made for this level of physical exercise 😅#okay moving on#nia stop calling things like this poor financial decisions challenge#it cost like. the equivalent of 40 bucks#I have 30 times as much hidden away in my sock drawer#and I am usually responsible with my spending. I'm allowed a slightly more expensive treat every once in a while#also my dad doesn't know but I'm sure if I would him 'hey I spent 3.8k on a pair of books is that okay'#he'd be like 'why tf are you asking when have I ever said no to you spending money'#but again. I do try to be mindful#which is why as much as I want the lok art books and could probably ask for money for them. I won't#bc they cost an arm and a leg and I cannot morally allow myself to spend that kind of money#anyway. getting distracted again#do you know how hard it was to get these? I checked like 3 marketplaces before I did#and I was fully ready to get them in russian because non-classical english books are impossible to come by here#sanctions and all that. but somehow I did. and it only cost half the money in my bank account#I don't even know if Russian editions exist. these books were written before the war and before the gay propaganda ban but still#I didn't find them when I looked. maybe they don't sell them now that the law is in place or smth#I don't really care enough to look it up#the point is. I now own the books and can happily read about best girl kyoshi whenever I want#if the stress for an upcoming event doesn't kill me. that is#also I have read rok before but it was 3 years ago so my memory is vague. and I just realised how much thinner sok is?#I'll have to check the page count later

New theory: at least one of Kotoko's parents is a police officer and she (and her brother most likely) were trained to become police officers themselves.
#HEAR ME OUT#so many things fit together when you think of it like this#Her mindset is exactly like cop mindset and it would make sense for it to be something she was trained into from childhood#She has been taking martial arts lessons from a young age using protection as a reason#Her parents would have had to allowed her to take them. What of they were the ones who set her up for them in the first place?#It would explain how she became Like This with the no persecution thing being true#She didn't go through an event that make her like this. She was taught to be this way#Well you could argue having cop parents and being pressured from a young age is traumatising in itself but I digress#It's the kind of trauma most wouldn't really recognise as such because it's common and not very extreme#She goes to a prestigious university which likely cost a lot in tuition. Her family would need to provide for it. Likely made her go into i#Which would mean she was probably ostracised from her family once she was sent to court and had to drop out#Because a good cop shild would not do this#This would also make her foil Kazui because they had similar childhoods#But one stepped into it a bit too well while the other wasn't ever able to truly fit in#milgram#kotoko yuzuriha#everyone needs to see my vision

Having a moment to wonder about gacha games.
How many are actively such compelling rpg’s with great production and writing and I’m wondering if it would be better for the gacha model to be non-viable and they were full price games, or if it is the business model that allow for the teams to take so many swings and make them good.
#I don’t know enough about development and the industry to have the answers#but I am very enraptured to the idea-#would arknights be better as a franchise of pseudo-visual novels#would the main story be more concise and not as tedious to get through because chapters need to be spaced#or would the lack of pressure about needing to keep an active audience make them lazy with world building#and deprive us of the best part of the game (for me)- events?#Don’t really know but I am very curious about it#thoughts sponsored by free time and the 3 new games I am juggling

In this ten minute video, Hayes states facts that many pro-Palestine and anti-war citizens the world over, and in the US, have been saying for months:
Israel has clearly targeted civilians, those who are obviously no threat and not hostile, those fleeing and holding white flags, and those in "safe" places that are not associated with military targets.
Israel's warfare is indiscriminate, and more journalists have been killed in these few months than there ever were in Vietnam.
Israel can't keep stories straight about the many, many questionable incidents. They say they are in the right, and they are certain of what they are doing, and then they backtrack to say they don't know.
It is impossible to verify Israel's claims because Gaza's destruction is nearly total. Therefore, how can Israel's actions be defended blindly?
More than half of Israel's bombs have been untargeted and imprecise, unacceptable in an urban setting with civillians.
Israel claiming Hamas is using 'human shields' is not an excuse to bomb schools and hospitals.
If you listen to what people and government officials and journalists in ISRAEL are saying, razing Gaza to the ground and destroying it totally IS THEIR POINT. THE GOAL. Several quotes from Israeli officials follow illustrating the common rhetoric in Israel right now.
"Whatever your opinion [...] it is just plainly the case that our country is supporting a war whose animating moral logic looks to most the world, and frankly, to me, to be that every single last person in Gaza is guilty and deserves their lot."

b) I get the point but. people knew George Eliot was a woman during her lifetime and during her career as a writer. She was taken seriously as a woman writer
like yes, literary history is full of women who were not acknowledged or who hid their gender to write or whatever but i'm sure we have better examples for that than george eliot??
#i find these kind of righteous text-videos that flatten historical events for the sake of pop culture feminism honestly annoying#and they always make me really petty#like the fact that her point isn't about 'history being written by women' but. literature. it's about woman writers#also saying 'george eliot doesn't exist' is like saying 'lady gaga doesn't exist' bc that's not her real name#also also (again this makes me petty sorry) mary ann evans was apparently a well respected scholar and translator#yes sorry I got this from wikipedia bad research but my point is mary ann evans was taken seriously in literary spheres under that name#i'm sure not without struggles and all and yes she felt she had to use a pseudonym starting out in literature but she wasn't invisible#and that this is an odd example for the pressures and abuses women in literary spheres had to suffer historically#i am very tired which makes me mean and petty oops
