Bound king new md abno gave me Hong Lu vibes so I started drawing. Event dialogue dropped on the wiki midway thru drawing and my opinions were proven correct immediately ! I’m soooo true and right always :)

Marriage Spider wasn't masochistic enough and Roseate Desire wasn't angsty enough.

I have to say though, none of us expected Bound King. That Abno is relatively new for the MD encounters and too many of us were focused on Spider cause the allegory is a lot clearer and paints a very neat picture of toxic codependency, plus the "Pride and Prejudice" allusion with the EGO gift being a nod to another certain English writer.

But reading through the encounter with Bound King it definitely fits the themes of Wuthering Heights. Authority, but at the cost of being constrained and unable to move. Having power but being beholden to that very power and being captive and miserable in it. The constraints of social status and prejudice preventing one from moving forward, or at all, the binds being both a balm to heal and hide wounds and chains that hold one prisoner in their social station.

The Bound King is what Heathcliff would become in the end. What he would have been had he followed his story through Wuthering Heights.

I think it's a bit of a parallel, to how Ishmael has Blind Obsession, a clear allegory to Captain Ahab and how in the book, Ishmael succumbed to the same madness and obsession with the White Whale as Ahab by the end. Now Heathcliff has a Battle Pass EGO representing his ultimate Dead End, becoming the very person he hates most. He becomes Hindley Earnshaw, The Bound King of Wuthering Heights.

Literally everyone before the new trailer dropped: Oh it's gonna be Spider of Marriage BP EGO, we're gonna get Spider of Marriage Heathcliff for sure!
