Today is the 21st and you know what that means? It's the Reveal-versary/Birthday of Sun and Moon! But this also means it marks the opening day of the DCA Reveal-versary magma collab!

Two boards will be open for artists from now until Tuesday the 26th Thursday the 28th so long as there's space to cram stuff in at the time (though this is depending how fast it gets filled up.)

The Reveal-versary collab is split into two boards here's a rundown of each:

The Party room: The main board where you can join Sun and Moon to celebrate their birthday! Remember to grab a party hat, party poppers or a slice of cake if you wish!

The Snack table: A secondary board where you can grab a snack of your choice or/and add one of your own! The table is catered by a pair of little guys that seem oddly familiar.

Before jumping in here's the rules:

No NSFW

Only 1 character per board - (For now. You can also add a snack of your choice alongside your character to add to the snack table board! Make sure to finish your character on one board before starting in the other though!)

Keep your character a reasonable size - (We shouldn't fill the space too fast so other artists can join after all, so no huge or gigantic characters taking most of the space.)

Finish your art of your character! / Merge layers when finished - (No uncoloured pieces please, characters included are to be coloured in someway. This is a multi-day event so don't feel pressured to do it all in one go!)

Try to interact with the scene - (If you can, try to have your character add to the scene, one of the best parts of a collab is seeing how characters interact!)

Inform me when you've finished your character and which board it's on. (Either in the chat there, ask box or reply to this post. I will be taking notes on who has participated on what boards and will include the names on the post when the final collab images are unveiled!)

Magma side note: There's a layer limit with the free plan, artists will have to make sure merge their layers when they're finished so new ones can be made for others. There is a limit of 30 people on a canvas/board at one time so if it'll be busy wait a little while.

can i post this for shuake week day 7 even though it’s late and isn’t really shuake (I LOVE SHUAKE) :,)

joker’s palace! i imagine he has one shadow for each confidant, and they’re all called their respective arcanas.

his palace is a theatre/masquerade, hence they all have masks and gloves

the first one (which i also posted before, is arsène/fool)

the last one is strength (the shadow for the twin wardens). it’s kinda just his inmate outfit so i didn’t line/colour it properly lol

i also have these, which i drew for a different purpose [which has now been posted!] (hence the lack of masks, gloves, and yellow eyes; and the drawings of the confidants; and the relative lack of detail) but if i were to draw them the designs would be similar

warning for long ass dump of my notes on each shadow lol:

each shadow is sort of like how ren tries to portray himself to each of his confidants, like their ideal version of him (at least in joker’s cognition)

joker (fool): his ‘joker’ persona - the leader of the phantom thieves, bold, flamboyant, confident (i.e. how he portrays himself in the metaverse)

ann (lovers): fashionista, model, stepping into drag queen territory

i initially drew a suit version but then remembered ren canonically has crossdressed lol (we love the mementos mission manga)

haru (empress): a sweet and gentle prince, detached from okumura foods (like haru’s getaway, prince charming)

makoto (priestess): a model student, smart, serious, but also driven and follows own ideals (like makoto wishes she could)

ryuji (chariot): punkish gym bro

akechi (justice): righteous knight, intellectual and justice driven

morgana (magician): a phantom thief, a cowboy sort of image, sly, cunning, fast

yusuke (emporer): traditional japanese furisode (in modern times this tends to be worn by women, which yusuke could be more drawn to in his models) artistic, down to earth

there’s also a bit about his mother, since a furisode is mostly worn by unmarried women, and since we never hear about yusuke’s biological father, i’d guess she was unmarried? yusuke wants to recapture the beauty of the sayuri (which is a self-portrait) and thinks he could do so with a beautiful model - so ren wears a furisode like an unmarried young woman, like yusuke’s mother

futaba (hermit): otaku, nerd, older brother figure and fellow gamer

sojiro (hierophant): apprentice barista, 2nd boss of leblanc, charming, a ladies man (sorry sojiro your son is gay)

twin wardens (strength): just an inmate lol (focused on fusing lots of personas and filling the compendium, plus listening to igor)

sumi (faith): senior more experienced gymnast/trainer, ‘senpai’

mishima (moon): gentleman thief, but unlike fool and magician, moon would be more secretive and cunning like a traditional gentleman thief

maruki (councillor): fellow researcher, curious and driven, but very kind and empathetic

maruki would also wish ren was more like him, and agreed with his ideas, since they both lowkey have a savior complex but use different methods. if ren agreed with maruki there would be no conflict in the 3rd semester, which is what maruki would want

sae (judgement): innocent and sweet school boy, model student, unlike priestess who is more self-driven and ambitious, judgement would be more conforming. also determined and righteous (justice driven)

I’m running a Sandman blog. As such, I feel I can’t not say anything, but I’ll make this short (for me):

I believe victims. I work with them almost every day. My trust in the legal system on these matters is therefore also limited and a complicated affair. I unequivocally believe that the sexual assault allegations against Neil Gaiman are true. Having said this, I will withhold further commentary as the situation unfolds, because it’s too complex.

I also believe that stories have meaning to us that goes beyond their creators, and that meaning doesn’t suddenly fall away because of their creators’ actions, although it can, and that’s also okay.

Our feelings are allowed to be complicated, and no one deserves any type of harassment because they still love a story while simultaneously grappling with feelings of anger, disgust or simply sadness towards or about its creator. Neither does anyone deserve any hard feelings because they decide they don’t want to engage anymore.

Our feelings are our own, and we don’t have to justify them to anyone.

Fandoms exist because of story and community. And those stories and communities don’t suddenly stop existing, so I hope we can remember to treat each other with respect and empathy moving on from here.

On a more constructive note, and also speaking as someone with both personal and continuous secondhand experience of SA who already sees the damage caused by unreflective knee-jerk posting on here:

You don’t have to make repeated public statements to disassociate yourself from works. Once is enough if you feel you have something to communicate to your followers. Not at all is enough, too. Simply do what you need to do. It’s enough if you know what you stand for, and to act accordingly.

Get your information from original sources, not “summaries” and hearsay on Tumblr. The amount of misinformation, both accidental and malicious, I have seen on here is shocking. All podcasts are freely available with transcripts. Stop believing the people who tell you otherwise, because they either don’t know what they’re talking about, or they aim to control the discussion for their own agenda. If you want to partake in discussion, get info from the source, because that’s truly something you owe to the victims. Otherwise, consider to withhold your opinions. We don’t have to add to the noise, there’s enough of it already, and it somewhat disqualifies itself if it adds its own agenda: This is not about LGBTQ+ issues or whether you deem an outlet trustworthy (it’s about the victims). It is not about your own opinions about kink (it’s about the victims). It is not about your disabilities or struggles that render you “unable to listen or read”. It is about the victims, not about you. So consider to stop centering yourself.

You are not a bad person for enjoying the work of a person who did wrong, neither does condemning them automatically make you a good person. How you behave towards your fellow human beings does. So if you feel tempted to judge, or even harass, other people for their love of a piece of media, take a breath first. Because in that moment, it has stopped being about the victims—it has become about centering yourself as righteous.

Don’t read into works, but don’t pretend they exist in a vacuum either. We can’t truly separate the art from the artist, but we can (re)assign meaning unique to us. The moment you interpret a piece of art, it reflects you. It will mirror back your feelings and worldview. If all you feel while engaging is negative, it is time to disengage. There is enough art in the world you can enjoy. But don’t judge those who still find meaning even if you don’t.

Take action in the real world, and step back from online discourse. Put your money where your mouth is, donate to women’s shelters or volunteer, organise fundraisers. In short: Make a difference where you can. Online opinion pieces are not that place, neither is keeping yourself in a state of constant aggravation by obsessively checking the tags. All it does it make you unwell.

Don’t support the creator financially. I know I won’t from here onwards, especially where there is a clear divide between his work and that of others (the creator credit for The Sandman also belongs to Mike Dringenberg and Sam Kieth, as you can see on literally every Sandman-related published work. And the intellectual property belongs to DC/Warner since it was work for hire. The Sandman was never creator-owned). Secondhand books are an option, so are libraries. They’re everywhere, and eBay is your friend in that case. You can also still read and enjoy the works you own, it doesn’t harm anyone. You don’t have to bin, burn or sell them. If that feels right though, go for it. It’s your choice, but don’t expect others to make the same choices.

Most importantly: You have nothing to prove to anyone. You know who you are, that’s all that matters. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

It was that time of the year, award season. You either love it or hate it. Maybe it's the axcitement for your favorite artist's performance, the anticipation of knowing who wins, or maybe you hate the decisions and how rigged award shows can be.

Either way, you'd turn in and you'd love to see the interactions between idols during this time. Some end well, some leads to the spark of rumors.

Y/N waits in her respective waiting room with the staff members, her managers, and bubbling anxiety. As her make up artist gets her ready, Y/N can't help but express the feelings of nervousness towards the show. This is because, this award show will be Y/N's first one, as she just debuted as a soloist under HYBE Entertainment.

A young girl at the age of 17. The company made the choice to debut her as a soloist as her talents, charisma, and character was meant to be showcased individually and they didn't want that to be hidden within a group.

Now, she was barely in the industry for 10 months, but she had a successful debut with the album selling out quicker than expected. Due to her fast gain in popularity and supporters, she was nominated for a few awards.

A lot of the high ups, her senior groups under HYBE have encouraged her so much and made sure she was taken care of.

But even with all that care and support, here she was getting her make up and hair done with anxiety and multiple "what ifs". The soft hum of the dressing room's bustling activity and the gentle hands of her makeup artist did little to quell the racing beat of her heart. She took a deep breath, trying to find some semblance of calm in the midst of it all.

Her manager, a seasoned professional who had been guiding her every step of the way, leaned in and offered a reassuring smile. "Y/N, you've got this," she said with unwavering confidence. "You've worked hard for this moment, and your talent speaks for itself. Just remember to be yourself, and everything will fall into place."

Y/N nodded, her anxiety still bubbling beneath the surface, but she appreciated the encouragement. She had always dreamt of this moment, standing under the spotlight, showcasing her music and talent to the world. But now that it was here, the weight of the expectations, the scrutiny, and the "what ifs" weighed heavy on her mind.

As her makeup artist applied the finishing touches, Y/N's phone buzzed with a message from one of her senior labelmates, a member of a well-known group within HYBE Entertainment. It was a short but heartfelt message that read, "You've got this, Y/N! We're all rooting for you. Just remember, you're not alone out there."

Reading those words, Y/N felt a renewed sense of determination. She knew she had a supportive network of fellow artists and staff members who believed in her. And deep down, she believed in herself too. She was here because she had something special to offer, something that resonated with her fans and had earned her a place at this prestigious award show.

With her makeup complete, Y/N looked into the mirror and saw a reflection of the young girl who had worked tirelessly to get to this point. The dazzling lights of the red carpet illuminated her path, making her feel like she had stepped into a dream. Her manager offered her arm, and she took it gratefully, using the support to steady her nerves.

She took a moment to adjust her dress, ensuring that every detail was perfect. Her outfit had been chosen meticulously, a collaboration with a top designer, and she felt like a princess in it. Confidence started to bloom within her as she reminded herself of the hard work she had put into reaching this moment.

As Y/N approached the red carpet, the guards guided her through the crowd of photographers, their cameras clicking rapidly as they captured her every move. The flashes were blinding, but she managed to maintain her poise, her smile radiant and gracious. This was the moment she had always dreamed of, and she wasn't going to let nerves get the best of her.

At the end of the red carpet, the interviewer/MC awaited her, microphone in hand and a warm smile on their face. They extended a hand to Y/N, welcoming her with a kind gesture. "Y/N, it's an absolute pleasure to have you here tonight. How are you feeling on this momentous occasion?"

Y/N took a deep breath, her heart still racing, but her voice steady. "I'm feeling incredibly grateful and excited," she replied, her eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. "This is my first award show, and the support from my fans and everyone at HYBE has been overwhelming. I can't wait to share this special night with all of you."

I have to admit, I'm not sure why Daughter of No Worlds is not more popular. I mostly see Serpent and the Wings of Night being the most commonly discussed Carissa Broadbent book when it comes to the online space. But The War of Lost Hearts trilogy is one of the most sweeping, breath-taking, and beautifully written fantasy romances I have ever read.

Let me introduce you to Max:

I understand Max so deeply. He is no doubt a Virgo who just wants to live in peace in an isolated cottage and be left alone with his garden. But he also has a heart so full of love and loyalty, and is one of the most trustworthy, passionate (even if in his own cynical and reserved way) reliable, and green flag filled MMC's I have ever read.

This book completely altered my brain chemistry and made me love tropes I was usually neutral to or annoyed by because they were so well done: Grumpy x Sunshine, reluctant hero, ect. This man may want to live in peace and tend to his garden, but at the tiniest spark of meaningful hope and belief that things that change, he will throw down harder than anyone, even if he is a little cranky about it along the way. I genuinely would want to live my life alongside this man, and I can see us starting a non profit together providing artists and writers grants to fellow women and children like me who struggle with debilitated chronic illness and struggle to keep afloat in this capitalist hellhole in which we reside here in the US.

I feel like I'm just pitching this book now, but one of the things I love about Max and Tisaanah's relationship is the deep respect they have for each other. They believe in their cause and their fight because they believe in each other. They believe in a future of peace and safety and prosperity because they want the other to have it. They are both such incredible people in the eyes of the other, and it makes them believe in the greater good. Maybe that's cheesy to some, but I thought it was so beautiful.

Somehow Carissa Broadbent is able to weave the fight for bettering the world alongside all of these small tender moments that make it all worth it. It simply wouldn't work as well if they didn't look at each other like they paint the sky.

Anywho, here are some of my favorite Max moments:

"I figured you should have something both beautiful and functional, like you."

He said it so quickly that it almost didn't register. I whipped my head around to look at him. "Max," I breathed, touching my heart with exaggerated awe, "you think I'm functional?"

A dancing smile glinted in his eyes. "I think," he said, "that you are breathtakingly functional.

Our life settled into a pulse, a heartbeat, a collection of breaths. In the silence between them, I memorized the cadence of Max's barefoot steps padding down the hallways at night, the way one single muscle in his throat twitched when he was stressed, the whisper of a laugh that always followed one of my quips (however unfunny). I learned that one side of his smile aways started first - the left side, a fraction of a second before the right - and that he loved ginger tea above all else and the list of things he wasn't made for.

And, in turn, he quietly memorized me, too. I knew he did, because one day I realized he had long ago stopped asking me how I took my tea and we mysteriously always had a never-ending stock of raspberries, even though I knew he didn't like them.

The way I look at it", he said, very solemnly, so quietly that his words slipped into the air like steam, "you didn't forget what you were. I think you remembered. And I hope no one ever again has the fucking audacity to tell you otherwise.

I had forgotten that people could be that way. I had forgotten that someone, somewhere, was painting terrible pictures of their wife in a garden. I was so far gone that I didn't even remember that that kind of mundane contentment actually existed, least of all in the same moments as such terrible things. [...] I thought, 'Well. What is the main lesson of your story?

I think there could be a few takeaways from Forest Fire but it's mainly about learning to let go of a romanticized image of the past and learning to face the things you've been running away from (a lesson for each main character, respectively).

What did you use as inspiration for your worldbuilding?

The idea started when I was looking out at the scenery during a spontaneous road trip to California but none of the worldbuilding I did then actually ended up in the version of FF im working on now, lol. For the current version, Studio Ghibli is a big inspiration (especially a scene towards the end of the boy and the heron) as well as the song This Place Is a Shelter by Ólafur Arnalds.

What is your MC trying to achieve, and what are you, the writer, trying to achieve with them? So you want to inspire others, teach forgiveness, or help them grow as a person?

Forest Fire is set in a dual POV, following two estranged brothers forced to grapple with a past they remember very differently, so-

Sylas just wants his older brother back and for his family to be the way he remembers it as a kid. He's desperate to bring his brother back home and keep him there.

Lincoln, on the other hand, doesn't want anything to do with the town he grew up in or the memories he can't escape there. He wants to be a responsible adult and return both Sylas and another young character (Peggy) to their respective homes and then get the hell outta dodge.

Through them, I'm trying to tell a coming-of-age story that teaches both of the characters to stop letting their past overshadow their present/future.

How many chapters is your story going to have?

Genuinely I have no idea, but hopefully at least 20?

Is it fanfiction or original content? Where do you plan to post it?

Original content! No idea what to do with it after I finish but once I start the editing process (or if I particularly like any snippets from the first draft) I'll probably share them here on tumblr :)

Literally the end of last year, this is a very fresh project for me.

Do you have any words of encouragement for fellow writers of writeblr?

I think my best advice is to not let the fear of the blank page overshadow your creative drive. Firsts drafts are meant to be of a lower quality than you want (or than you're capable of) because there are just so many elements to juggle at the same time while also learning how to best tell your story, so don't sweat the small stuff and give yourself the space to be curious and interested in what you're writing!

Take a breath. Take a stretch. And just write :)

Life is getting harder and I think I'm getting worse so why did I draw fem skk?

When I don't even know how to draw hands or shoes or poses or anything. And on valentine's too instead of interacting with fellow humans.

Skk is one of those classic ships in the fandom hall of fame that I didn't get into (and still don't really go crazy for), but I still felt its power and weight when drawing them. It felt like someone was telling me to show some respect or else.

It's kind of funny seeing the differences in how I see them in canon and how they're seen and drawn as in tumblr. Like Chuuya having muscles Vs Chuuya being drawn really skinny. Dazai being called a slob and greasy when he's often drawn the most... conventionally attractive and in fits that I see on put-together and charming Japanese men. Chuuya being described as having a good sense in fashion when lots of his fits in official art are... (Or maybe that one doesn't count since art that isn't from the manga doesn't feel very accurate sometimes. Like what do you mean Kouyou is often dressed in blue? What? Why???)

I get why though and kind of subscribe to those concepts too. Chuuya *would* have muscles from all the boom baam ka-chow beatings he gives out. Him being drawn skinny and muscle-less in canon is probably for artistic aesthetics and the preferences for kind of skinny guys in manga.

Dazai having bad hygiene habits and being sloppy makes his mental issues feel all the more...real I guess? Or hammers it down is a better way to say it. Shows that even though he feels he's not human, he still is and the not as captivating effects of not taking care of himself will affect them the same way it affects other humans.

When I kept hearing Chuuya was more fashionable than the rest, I immediately accepted it. After all, his base outfit and like for hats? He's not just drawn handsome, he's drawn *stylish*. So when I saw the fits and expressions he's wearing in official arts. I. Felt unreasonably betrayed. I remember seeing him in one purple hoodie and it's one of those images you don't want to think about it but pops in your head anyways.

And his smiles in some of them. See, I don't mind not-so-smiley characters smiling but I kind of don't trust it when it's from official art that isn't from the source source because it often feels obvious that the character wasn't thought of that well because what do you mean that the guy the rarely smiles or smirks more than smiles is smiling sweetly to the camera????

Having this complaint makes me feel guilty too because I don't mind seeing characters smile, but I just want it to feel in character. Have them smile in a way they actually would. Atsushi smiling sweetly at the camera? He would because he's prone to smiling and is nice. Dazai smiling? He also would because he's prone to smiling and theatric. Chuuya smiling? He would smirk. Or smile slyly. If not, I honestly think he'd be kind of more blank-faced when having pictures taken of him.

Gender-bending characters is fun. I honestly like most interpretations of fem skk even if some don't look all that canon-fitting.

My interpretation or personal way of thinking of them even if it's not all that true or sensible is--

Chuuya would be the girl that girls call their 'goddess' friend. Striking eyes, striking hair, striking clothes, striking voice-- she makes heads turn. Her personality wouldn't change much from how she is as a boy because his personality in general is...unashamedly him. He has feminine traits in canon and if he was a girl, she'd have masculine traits. She wouldn't change in personality, demeanor, and values.

She dressed like a tomboy when she was younger because clothes made for boys is cheaper and easier to move in. Now that she's older and richer, she dresses a little more out there and more stylish than the average gal. She rocks both feminine and masculine looks. Wears lots of red and maroons and goes for gold over silver. Probably would have chokers and hats as a staple in lots of her outfits. Would have the reputation of being out of people's leagues.

Dazai is one of those girls that have conventionally attractive looks but it's raised to the point that she's more 'model-esque' than 'basic'. Dark hair, brown eyes, tall and skinny. Not to mention her personality that can go from annoying and to charming and charismatic. She wouldn't be a tumblr girlblogger, but she'd have similar behaviours. Probably rots in bed, psycho-analyses her life and life in general, and has the whole duality of being desired and feeling inhuman.

At 15, she'd have long and uncombed hair, looking like the quintessential creepy teen girl. During dark era, she'd have it cut real short like the way it is in canon. Makes the shift between her at 15 and 18 more obvious. Not sure what would cause it though. At ADA, she'd have it mid-length, the most 'average' length. She's not lost anymore or whatever she had going on at 18-- she's trying to be a good person, a normal one with plain hair. Not that haircuts dictate the character of a character, but it's making sense in my head. Maybe I just sound incoherent.

She'd either be still shamelessly into women and want to die with one or she'd be shamelessly trying (and failing) to rake in a handsome man that'll die with her. Anyways. She'd have the reputation of being fun but a red flag.

I'm not sure why I have more to say about and think Dazai would change more as a girl. Maybe it's because I see Chuuya as instinctively more out there while I see Dazai is more conforming. In some ways or maybe just in gender. Ironic considering their positions and lore. Maybe it's because Dazai's more performative while Chuuya doesn't really bother with theatrics.

Sigh. I love them, but I can't draw them right. Or describe them properly. Props to all Chuuya fans, the hair was so so so so 💥💥💥. I can't believe that so much fanart of him looks that good when his hair is kind of that complicated (at least for me) I can't do Dazai's hair either, but at least the swooshy anime curls/fluff/waves are kind of easier to do. I don't understand Chuuya's hair. At all.

I swear I had a point to this. I just don't know if I already wrote it down or if it just evaporated. Oh well.

hi y'all. have been preoccupied by various domestic responsibilities (my oven is clean now!) but can at least poke my head up long enough to get you some news.

No, we do not have any indication of when Ninety One will make new music together again. We do have a recent OT4 performance, where they... opened for Chen? From what I could see the set list was a quick greatest-hits compilation: "Aiyptama," "Mooz," "Men Emes," "E.Yeah." There was also this Nauryz show, if you want to see what haircut Bala has now. But that's it, as far as the group is concerned.

Let me recap the solo activities first. Alem released a single called "Kuiim" and... it was a hit! As in: 4.6 million YouTube views in four months! (By contrast, "Biz" still hasn't hit 2 million views, nearly two years after its release.) He has since released a follow-up, "Elestet," which sounds a great deal like "Kuiim," but why knock a winning formula. Also the video for "Elestet" has actual good English subtitles. In between the two releases, Alem and Veronika went on the Zamandas podcast together. That does not have good English subtitles, but it was conducted entirely in Russian, so you might have luck with auto-transcribe and translate. (Or I might, if I can get out from under said domestic responsibilities. No guarantees. Will go ahead and spoiler you that they bring out baby Tai towards the end of the interview, and Alem play-nibbling on his son is indeed one of the cutest things you will ever be privileged to witness in your lifetime.)

Alem also did an interview with 98 Magazine. Here's a quick machine translation version of the relevant-to-Ninety-One content:

Ninety One has its own direction. Each of the five people added their own flavor, and a new eclectic direction emerged. This is a great experience. To translate the translation: not any time soon, folks. He does say, when asked where he sees himself in five years' time, "onstage, with Ninety One," but it seems like solo work is suiting him just fine. And, honestly, frustrating as the Gap era must have been, thank goodness for some buzz.

The song credits for "Elestet," meanwhile, are Alem, ZaQ, Ne1tron, Fellow Cute Dad De Lacure, and Ayrys, with whom I am not familiar at all. And now it seems that ZaQ, De Lacure, and Ne1tron are doing a separate project called HighOne, and Alem will be a guest vocalist. So the current situation is not so much "Ninety One has split up" as "Alem and ZaQ are busy being cute dads and helping each other out with their respective solo projects, Ace is meanwhile doing his thing, and Bala is doing something that does not require the supervision of QpopNews or social media, and hopefully enjoying it, whatever it is."

Ace is meanwhile doing his thing. His solo album was actually mostly written by Serzhan Bakhytzhan, whom you might remember as the driving force behind the Aiyptama EP. As best I can tell, this EP—if you guessed that the title is Baqytty Bol, go ahead and pat yourself on the back—was not nearly as successful as "Kuiim." I'm not really surprised; "Kuiim" has a bass-driven energy, whereas stuff like "Qushaq" sounds more like a bid for space on your lo-fi study playlist than something you would go out of your way to listen to. But Ace also got a solo interview:

How difficult was it to promote an album as a solo artist? It was very difficult. Last year, there were a lot of problems in Kazakhstan. I was forced to draw attention to myself with light videos with humor. If you notice, the media played a lot of songs with a minor, sad atmosphere. Because that was the vibe of the people. On the contrary, I mostly released songs with a major, upbeat tone. My main goal was to write positive songs.

...like I said, I'm not surprised he didn't tear up the market. But he did just get featured by Il'han on a ballad. I think Alem's been doing collabs as well? And voice acting? Working dad's been busy!

Finally: Ace and Alem both are going to do a couple concerts with Dastan Orazbekov (of Orda, right? I feel like my Pop-Almaty-social-dot-connecting skills have atrophied). And on May 3rd, they're both scheduled to appear at a concert with Madi Rymbaev and Yenlik, hosted by Kyle Ruh. YES! The hardest working man in Kazakh show business is still at it! And reportedly a reunited Moonlight will be there! Oh, and Kyle Ruh was on the Kazakhstani version of The Masked Singer, where Ace is a judge. Forgot to mention that.

I will come back again when there is more news, or when I finally have time to start reviewing songs again. And in the meantime we can all rest easy knowing that, no matter what the time or the situation or the bleakness of the news, Kyle Ruh is out there getting shit done.
