The restoration of old, unconverted art via NCUCs has made all my 12-year-old Dreamies come true and I will be singing TNT's praises forever for that. However, there are still so many Paint Brushes out there and many more designs that feel uninspired to me.

I have been playing Neopets virtually nonstop since 2003 and credit the site for turning me onto art and the games industry as a career. It has been instrumental in my development as an artist and whetted my appetite for creativity and storytelling, and it has been an honour to work with them in an official capacity this year, and so much fun trying my hand at adapting the art I thought could use improving with these redraws.

Soo.. Cross is now a furry. If you would like to draw this design (first of all bless you and god have mercy on your hands, second of all I’m sorry I made the design so complicated, I got carried away) please tag/credit me! I really love seeing fanarts!

I made him a African Painted Dog and a Border collie mix because I think it is what fits him best.

Painted Dogs are really social creatures, and extremely skilled in the hunt, the base of it’s strength is the pack, the family and friends. A pack of Painted Dogs are deadlier than a pride of lions and much more dangerous than a pack of wolves. However, take it’s pack away and it cannot survive. Family is everything for a Painted Dog, it is survival. If I’m not mistaken, there have been cases where they die because the anxiety separation gets so bad, that it causes an hormone imbalance in the dog’s system and it kills them (Also I do not know if this is legit, take my words with a big grain of salt, I am not a biologist or a zoologist). Cross is depressed and being alone in that white void for so long, knowing that everything is his fault, that he killed everyone that he loved for no reason, almost drove him mad (XChara was not helping), but Ink was there, he helped cross not die of a broken heart. Cross is strong, but he would be even stronger if he had the rest of the royal guard by his side, he would fight better.

I also chose a Border Collie because they are really smart working dogs, loyal and obedient, with a need of someone telling them what to do. Cross kinda always needed for someone to tell him what to do, he was always following someone, first he was serving royalty, then XFrisk as his bodyguard, then Nightmare, and now possibly Dream. He was always told to do something, almost never acting by himself. He needs it, if he doesn’t have it, how is he going to save his friends? His family? He can’t fight XGaster when he can control Cross’ body at will, how he is going to get that independence if everything tells him that he needs to serve someone to even do something?

Oh, how I love angst and making characters suffer… :)…. Reminder that I put a lot of personal headcanons in my interpretation, this should not be taken as a source of canon material, but feel free to use it as inspiration!

their (most likely [<haven’t decided] partner who act as their) disability caretaker is hyacinthos shinya🪻🌌.

they also full time non-ambulatory wheelchair user with very specific posture & seating positioning needs so not out of it for long or really much at all.

angel wing on back of wheelchair is power assist! is magically powered by hyacinthos (who angel) & can be powered even remotely / far away. way control wheelchair & power assist part by intuitive / hand motions & gestures / etc, part by halo hover above armrest that act as joystick. can use it like traditional joystick or wear as bracelet n control that way! (gimme it i want one) (if you recognize this setting it may be because previous version)

they do mix of self propel, power assist, & caregiver push. their wheelchair have stroller style push handle instead traditional push handle for easier caregiver push, especially one handed.

top left is full character clothing (with wheelchair translucent in background) because in original there some key parts blocked by wheelchair especially arm rest.

skirt around waist have purple band with blue small ruffles. center have rainbow bow with rainbow star on top.

n also have front n back of AAC device. what drawn here is 5x7 grid with various colored squares showing different parts of speech but grid size more so because like. is how much could fit comfortably. so even when redraw n isn’t exact 5x7 with colors exactly right where is right now, is okay. colors & where they are based on own AAC device >:) because of course

design of aac device case basically same as above. back side just have bigger clouds. oh also device has handles. tho it float around so handles get used less. float around so don’t have worry about how to carry it how to mount on wheelchair etc etc etc it follows you it automatic come to your hand when you wanna say something (kinda also acting as prompting bc sometimes think about say something but don’t actually say in device) it get out way when you don’t want it. if only like this irl lol

for Micah it's cuz....yknow. he's not really part. he's the rat. doesn't even have one of the two.

I changed some people's design a little bit but it's minor changes that don't mean much just me fixing up stuff

Molly and Grimshaw's eye-makeup-thingies are the same (cuz yknow. Dutch.) Molly's hair doesn't naturally do the Little Hair Thing, she has to do it every morning, hence why it's...oddly curly (this time not because she's not part of the gang, but because she feels the need to have it. maybe Dutch will love her if she does. if she's like the rest.)

I decided to make older Jack have a few things from other characters who are theorized to be his dad (lol. i don't believe those theories just for the record, i think Jack is John's kid, i just like stirring the pot HJKASJKHASGASG)

Jenny is like that cuz we never see her apart from a drawing, so i thought i should make her all sketchy and silly

Bulochki are a yokai clan from a world called Fukuide. So, quite literally, they are ghosts or spiritual beings. While some of these spirits are kind to humans and other creatures, others can be quite evil. However, most of the time, they remain neutral.

Bulochki can also absorb human spiritual remains, known as Echos. By doing this, they can change their appearance or even their character.

It's also known that Bulochki are very sensitive to their environment. Though they love to travel, when they stay in one place for a long time, the atmosphere affects them significantly. In pure and peaceful places like temples, they become rounder in shape and calmer in nature. Conversely, in "evil" places, their appearance and demeanor change accordingly.

Some of them can occasionally form friendships with mortals, such as humans. When this happens, they become stronger and more dragon-like, drawing power from the mortal's willpower and emotions.

However, some Bulochki become corrupted by negative places or after killing a human (or any other mortal). As a result, they transform into evil, haunting versions of themselves.

These corrupted Bulochki often fixate on negative ideas, causing people to suffer. This behavior gives rise to "urban legends" and dark stories about haunted places. Such Bao may repeatedly act out specific scenarios, like killing anyone who can't answer three questions or targeting people wearing red outfits, etc.

Flat Colors: Lineart with flat colors and only a few details (cheek color, sparkle in the eyes, shine in the hair)

Rendered: Complete illustration with colors, shading, lighting and lots of details!

Chibi: All chibi art will be fully colored, full body, and with some extra details.

Simple Character Design: Full body character (front only), with underwear and 1 more set of clothes! Comes with 3 different facial expressions of your choice.

YMH Touchstarved: I draw your Chibi MC with the LI(s) of your choice. The figure on the right is just a base, it can be changed according to the appearance of your character.

The prices above are per character and background coloring (optional) only, if there are extras:

Extra character: 70% of the base price

Simple background: 10% ~ 30% of the base price

Complex details: 5% ~ 15% of the base price

✦ Size

Bust, Half body, Full body and Character Design: The base size is usually A5 (2039x2894, 350dpi), but it can be a little bigger or smaller, depending on the commission.

Chibi: about 900x800, but they can be bigger too.

✦ How do I commission you?

You should send an email to nena00comm@gmail.com, with the title "Commission - your @", for better email organization. The email should contain all the references you can send, such as: poses, images of the character, clothes, details you would like to see in the illustration, etc. The commission request should be made only by email. The final file will be sent as a response to the request.

⭕: Simple backgrounds, Original and non-original characters, Suggestive/NSFW (only if you are of legal age, please), Blood, Kemono, Monsters (not complex) and other debatable categories.

❌: Complex backgrounds, Mecha, Furry, Gore or anything that makes me uncomfortable.

If possible, I would like to receive 100% in advance. Otherwise, 50% of the amount must be sent after confirmation of the commission (after sketch process) and the other 50% before sending the complete illustration. ✦ Commission turn around time

I usually vary a lot in hours and days, so it will depend on the complexity of the commission. On average, simpler and less colored drawings can take between 7~15 days, while more complex ones can take between 15~25 days. Chibis, even colored and rendered, take about 7~10 days, but if it is very detailed there may be a greater variation in days.

✦ What do I need to know to commission you? - Any and all commissions will be made for personal use only, commercial use is prohibited! However, feel free to use it to make a personal product, something like: print, keychain, etc… And show me, please! - Even if the commission is your request, the art is entirely mine, that is: it is prohibited to claim the art as yours. - Feel free to repost the art on other social media, but please be sure to give me credit! - Any unpleasant request may be denied. - Even if the commission request is made only via email, the conversation about the progress should be done through other social media, just call me and let me know that you commissioned me. - Ideally, I would like to publish your commission to showcase my work.
