i'm reaaaally torn between Hiccup telling his friends he's from the future and keeping it a secret; he doesn't want to come off as crazy, because it is crazy, but it's also such a burden to carry around on his own. he's constantly making excuses, lying, pretending, fumbling his way through questions he can't answer. he doesn't want to stop on Melody Island—why? uh, well, it just doesn't feel right. how he knows about Dagur's plans? well, he knows Dagur, and, well, uh... he knows Dagur? just trust him. just trust him and don't ask questions, look the other way and don't think about it.

while it's amusing to have the twins hype him up as a super genius seer, it's much less fun to the others, to lie, to hide things. Hiccup tells himself he will tell them, but not now, and not the day after, and with every day that passes it gets more difficult because what can he say when they ask why he didn't tell them sooner?

maybe he tells himself it's because he wants to keep things the same, to keep control for as long as he can before things ultimately start to divert. he can't do that if his friends know, if they act different. but everything already is different, people are different.

he throws himself into the work, he makes everything he has to make, he keeps out an eye to the threats he know will come. he makes sure his friends are ready too, training together, making sure Dragon's Edge is ready for any attack (Astrid is very happy, Fishlegs is a bit confused why his friend seems so... hardened, all of a sudden, it's not like him at all).

(the gang notices something is off, of course they do, Hiccup is their best friend, but they assume it's because of Dagur—the beserker has always had it out for Hiccup in particular, after all. and there are too many times Dagur got to Hiccup while none of them were there)

for a little more lighthearted work: he greatly enjoys his new battle with Viggo, feeling much more on even ground now he's (mentally) older and has more experience. it's also easier to recognize the patterns now that he knows how Viggo thinks! Hiccup creeps in under the cover of night, freeing dragons, leaving puzzle pieces for Viggo to find. he knows he's playing with hot iron, but it feels good to have control over the game. in his previous life, he was always one step behind, always late, but now? he's on a whole different level.

(in a way, what Hiccup really wants is to show off, to be recognized. he wants Viggo to know how smart he is, how talented, how brave and skilled and cunning and not a coward and not stupid or naive or innocent)

so, that's how The Dragon Master comes to life, the Black Scourge, Grimborn's Bane.

he involves the riders in his plan before Ryker ever has the chance to capture Astrid; he won't make the same mistakes this time. he tells them how he heard about a dragon hunter tribe that's bigger than any before, and smarter too. he tells them they must be connected to the Dragon Eye, because their symbol is the same as on the Reaper.

the gang does get suspicious. Hiccup is already knee deep in the water by the time he involves them, and it doesn't feel good. he's strong and tough and determined, and while Astrid likes all those things, it feels... wrong. he's strong, but on edge, he's determined, but distrustful.

And Hiccup just always seems to know; he knows the hunters won't fall for Gronckles and dragon root, he knows the hunters' artillery and layout of the ships, he knows where their bases are. most of all, he knows about their leader, knows how the man thinks like they've met before, he knows things he shouldn't be able to, but he does.

the twin's seer theory resurfaces, and it feels a whole lot less like a joke this time.

first, i'm really happy to hear about your insurance!! im wishing you alllll the best!🫶

second, im nervous about the state of the world right now, so i'm bringing a little distraction in the form of a rtte time-travel au i've been thinking of👀

so, i don't know from what point Hiccup would travel back in time, i'm doubting between the end of rtte or from httyd 2, but something goes BIG wrong and he dies, and then wakes up back in his body at the start of rtte. he doesn't understand what happened until the twins bust in with Johann between them, who tells him Dagur escaped—the gods have basically given him a second chance! (and for my own joy, Toothless traveled with him<3).

he makes his inventions early, upgrades the tail to the newer model, and plans out his steps with the knowledge of the future he has. he struggles with it at first, seeing Dagur like his old self again instead of the friend he became, knowing of the war that comes. but he's older now, and even if he doesn't want to think about it, Viggo did teach him a lot, and he's using that to his favor. first of all: he makes sure Dagur never finds out about the Dragon Eye. he hides it in his saddlebag before they come out of the Reaper. it's a big part of why the hunters and the riders fought, after all, it's better if everyone thinks it's still gone (im torn between Hiccup keeping it a secret from his friends too, for extra angst, or if he, because he's older, knows they work best as a team).

also, speaking of Viggo, Hiccup would 100% take the chance to rile Viggo up, to cut into his operations, stalking hunter ships before they even know he exists. but he wants to do it differently, this time. he knows that Viggo can be changed, so he needs to build this relation carefully. he frees dragons, of course, but he tries to keep damage to a minimum, and, for the kicker: he leaves the maces and talons "dragon" piece in the empty cells after raiding them. gotta make sure Viggo knows he plays!

anyway, yeah, i have a ton of ideas but i just wanted to share them and see what you think! (i just love time travel aus hihi)

And omg, just… waking up in his younger body must be a shock. There are probably scars that he had that are no longer there! (That would be so angsty.)

This whole concept is so awesome! I love the idea of him taunting Viggo while also wanting to try to make peace with him.

Hiccup has so much more knowledge of the world now and how things turn out, that I wonder if he ever feels overwhelmed, like he has to fix everything that went wrong in his eyes.

When Tenya Iida is in love, you can see it in his eyes.

Tenya never thought there could be a goal beyond becoming a hero worthy of his brother's name. But then, you walked into his life. He wishes he could say his adoration of you was built off of many interactions; deliberate and steady and methodical, just the way he liked things.

But what he soon found out was that love was quite the opposite.

It crept up onto him and grabbed a hold of him and in an instant, he was whisked away in its clutches and prone to its effects. So you can imagine when he met you on the first day in Class 1A, he was beyond surprised and almost disoriented at how one glance at you - a stranger - could influence the pace of his racing heart.

It was confusing to him at first, and he could scarcely even acknowledge that the warm feeling ignited within him was because of you: You and your words and breath and presence. But even when he himself didn't know what it was he felt, his classmates knew.

Even those usually oblivious to such things couldn't miss the ways his eyes would dart beneath his glasses at an utterance of your name. They couldn't miss the way his irises seemed to gleam whenever your light laughter blessed his ears. When you hugged him once he had fully recovered from his fight with the Hero Killer Stain, he swore he had a heart attack.

When the both of you started dating, Tenya had to learn quickly to get used to your touch for the sake of his poor heart. But in turn, in every caress and hold of his, you could feel his gentleness and care and utter love. He treated you like you could almost break under his hold, but you also never felt safer than when you were in the confines of his secure arms.

Every battle you were paired in he would subconsciously pull you close to him. In the aftermath, he could never be satisfied until his arms were wrapped around you once more. On dates, his hand would hardly leave yours. His touch would linger as he guided you away from oncoming traffic, helped you into your seat, and held your bags of shopping. In his mind, it was a given: You were his girlfriend and it was his duty to treat you as such. But to you, he was simply a gentleman amongst men.

And he was completely and utterly yours.

In lazy afternoons he has you in his arms, and when he is finally used to your presence enough to feel bold, his touch would linger on the flesh of your bare skin. It was like you were built just to melt into his embrace, and he always felt an unmistakable loss whenever you weren't. He would never say it aloud though, due to his irrevocably stubborn and flustered nature, but you would know the next day when he would scarcely leave your side.

You are currently in your boyfriend's room and leaning heavily against his shoulder as he points out words that lose shape in your tiredness. You see, you cannot-" His words are a jumble in your mind, and you faintly wonder why even in your hero course, you are doing mathematics. "Love, are you listening? It is of utmost importance that you learn this before your exam next week."

You hum at your boyfriend's blunt words, somehow they take an edge of gentleness when it is you he is talking to. "I'm listening baby, just resting my eyes for a bit." You promptly go from leaning on his shoulder to placing your head on his lap; a much more comfortable position you find for your aching neck and head. You can feel your boyfriend freeze briefly at your change in position, before seeming to relax once more. You can hear the sigh he lets out under his breath.

"Perhaps, we have done enough studying for today."

You smile and open your eyes briefly at his words, but surprisingly to you, Tenya is already looking down at you with softness in his gaze. "What do you say, love? I will walk you back to your room." As he softly speaks to you, one hand caresses your face gently and your lips upturn further in delight. His touch is heavenly after a day of torturous study, and despite being grateful for your intelligent boyfriend, you find yourself wishing it had been a day spent doing something more fun together.

As you look up to him through your eyelashes, you clutch his other hand and intertwine it in yours. Tenya feels his face flush red at your gentle hands caressing his. "No, let's stay here a while. Please?" Normally, Tenya would've upheld the rules of an approaching curfew and obliged to his role as class representative. However, his stature seems to melt just by your sleepy gaze and uttered words. "Okay, love." You grin in satisfaction and let out a small laugh of glee before focusing your attention on his hand once more and relishing his touch.

Soon, and completely expected by Tenya, you fall asleep.

You don't know it, but your boyfriend lets you lay there a little while, though mostly for the selfishness of having you in his presence just a moment longer. He then uses his strength to pry you gently into his arms, getting ready to take you to your room. As he travels the corridors he pays no mind to the teasing words of his classmates nor the "that's so manly," comment made by Kirishima. No, his gaze is solely on you, and his importance on making sure his peers stay quiet enough for you to sleep. His heart lurches when you snuggle closer to his warmth.

When he finally lays you in your bed, he hesitates for a moment before placing a kiss on your forehead and gently removing the deathly grip you have on his shirt. He sees you frown at the loss in contact and proceeds to internally swear that it was the most adorable sight he's ever seen. "Good night love." His words are merely a whisper in the dark room. "I love you." He witnesses your lips upturn and he smiles adoringly.

When Tenya Iida is in love you could never question it, because he encompasses it in everything he does, just for you.

hi, fools! this was long overdue. forgive me—i got distracted. anyhow! welcome to the official guide to self-publishing, as requested by satoh (@@satohqbanana). i’m going to give you tips based on my own process, but by all means, feel free to deviate and add/remove steps for your own process. some steps are mandatory though. no skipping 😤

okay i’m not going to yamble too much, lets get into it.

1.0 finishing the draft

2.0 the editing process (copyediting vs line editing vs beta reading)

3.0 the latent period (!!!)

4.0 pre-publication marketing

5.0 the cover + blurb

6.0 the final read-through

7.0 pre-orders and marketing

8.0 publish!

1.0 finishing the draft:

stop procrastinating and write, dodohead. words on the page. it doesn’t have to be perfect. you don’t have to agonize over that one line for an entire afternoon. stick to the vision and get the words on the page.

if you’re wondering why i’m saying it doesn’t have to be perfect when we’re talking about publishing a (hopefully good) book, it’s because there’s still the editing process later down the line to worry about typos, grammar issues, beta reader feedback, and all that jazzy good stuff. right now, you need to have your vision and get it down. this isn’t your polished copy. but you need to have your draft completed before you go anyways. so stop moping over whether “elucidate” is the word you want to use in that sentence and finish the sentence.

2.0 the editing process:

now you can worry about elucidate and its purpose in the sentence. the editing stage has many sub phases. copy-editing and the line editing. you can hire someone to do this for you or do it yourself. maybe get a friend to help. doesn’t matter. you just have to be critical and thorough. no sugarcoating. no, “oh ill just let this slide” or “i don’t wanna be mean so i won’t give real helpful feedback” editors. proper editors who will say it as it is.

copy-editing (as i understand it) is big book concept editing:

are there plot holes? is the lore consistent? does it make sense? is it unclear? is the story even interesting? how’s the pacing? what about the characters? too many? not enough? the voices aren’t distinct? the style is inconsistent? none of the characters feel like separate or fully formed people?

this is the phase where all those questions are addressed. once the overall concepts and structure of the book has been editing, constructively analyzed, and you’ve gotten feedback for it, go back to step one and revise your draft based on the critique. you don’t move on until those big concept issues are addressed.

done? okay, now it’s time for line editing.

exactly as the name implies, you’re going line per line, word per word, and catching any typos, grammar errors, punctuation—all that jazzy good stuff. REALLY BE THOROUGH. get a fresh pair of eyes on it. hire someone. put it through an editing software like grammarly. but be THOROUGH.

do the words you use make sense? are you using british or american english? slang? are you writing too much purple prose? do the sentences flow? are you using too many commas (stop that. don’t be afraid of periods).

you really need to understand the grammar and syntax rules of the english language to do this step on your own. otherwise, get help. or learn. whatever works with your budget lol.

done line editing? great! send it to a beta reader/ a friend, a writeblr mutual, someone you hired—just make sure they aren’t dancing around feedback and they give it to you as it is. i had a friend straight up tell me one of my drafts was ass LOL because the characters voices were too blurry and she never knew who was talking. there were some slow pointless chapters and the pacing was inconsistent. thus, i went back to step 1 and revised based off her feedback and came back with another draft.

don’t be afraid of critique. you need it to grow.

3.0 the latent period:

this is where you take a step back from the draft, preferably for months, and avoid interacting with it to give your mind a break and reset your eyes. this is a huge stage because this is where i want you fools to get your copyright and isbns in order.

GET. YOUR. BOOK. COPYRIGHTED.

do not share it until it is copyrighted. you can copyright unpublished materials. technically it is your intellectual property even before you copyright it, but that little ©️ is your legal shield. COPYRIGHT YOUR BOOK.

it costs ~$60 to make sure no one can steal your shit. this is nonnegotiable. do this.

i also got an isbn for my book so i could publish it with other services apart from KDP and expand the market. hence why some people were able to buy it off barnes and noble, for example. i highly recommend.

this is also the phase i started looking at platforms i wanted to publish on/with and reading the contracts. i’m being serious. read the contracts. make sure it aligns with what you want and what you’re comfortable with. don’t skim. don’t just accept. you’re putting your signature on that, bro. read it properly.

the publishing platforms i used were ingramspark and KDP. you’re gonna need to know your book dimensions too. so have an idea so you can estimate the printing costs.

the settings i did for mine were off white, 6x9 paper with the recommended gutter margins (used KDPs excel calculator to determine) and black and white ink (no colour) to get the lowest printing cost per book. ingram spark was similar. only thing with ingram spark is you need your page number to be even (no 575–it has to be 576) and KDP has a 600 page limit. so bear that in mind.

4.0 pre-publishing marketing:

you have to generate hype for your book. now that its copyrighted, its safe to share excerpts, little quotes, make edits for your characters or oc profiles to generate an audience. i did this mainly on tumblr vis tag games and whatnot, but honestly? that's the BARE MINIMUM lol.

don't be like me. i hate social media so i honestly did not market my book the way i know i should have (and still should). i still don't market my book because lol... i dont wanna 🥲

BUT! like it said--dont be like me. make an author website (a proper one. pay for the domain if you can, otherwise use the free domain, but make a professional author platform for yourself and your biography. you'll need this to set up a goodreads author account and claim your book on there). use instagram and make an author instagram profile (i technially have one here, but i never use it lol womp womp i just hate instagram sue me) and promote your book with the teasers. go on pinterest and make moodboards or "book trailers" through a carousel of images. USE TIKTOK. i know it's a plague platform (i dont like it, clearly), but it is where you will find the most fruits for your marketing.

this stage is all about generating hype for your book. why? so when you set your book up for preorder (and, yes, you will be doing that so you have a general idea of market demand and interest), you have people who are genuinely invested and want to buy your book.

marketing ideas because apparently i'm your free publicist:

that one trend on tiktok where you give the vibe of the book and a soundtrack // song to it

oc / book soundtracks

"would you read a book about..." [list the themes / enticing tagline elements of your story] -- it's a trend on tiktok

platforms to promote your book:

tiktok (#booktok)

instagram (#books, #readers, #bookstagram)

tumblr (#readers, #bookblr, #writers of tumblr, #reading, #writers, #book reccs; don't just use writer hashtags, is what i'm saying)

wix or the like to make your website

twitter (a lot of authors have official twitter accounts. once again, i never bothered OOPS)

youtube (making videos talking about your book--the ogs of this blog know LOL-- compiling playlists, etc)

also, don't be afraid to make or commission art for your ocs. speaking of which...

5.0 the cover and the blurb

you can't avoid it anymore. you need to make a cover and write a back of the book blurb // synopsis for your book.

YES i know its hard to describe your book in a non-spoilery, enticing way. work on it. struggle through it. get help. but get it done. you can't finish your cover until it is done.

NOTE! if you are making your own cover, the dimensions are only going to be .25" longer than your page dimensions if it is hardcover. ALSO you gotta make it a pdf file. one pdf file that contains the back of the book, the spine, and the front of the book laid out as one page. this is why you need to get the blurb down.

if you're making it by yourself: play around with fonts, use canva + photopea // photoshop. add chrome, but not too much chrome. use references and easter eggs of important plot elements for your visual pieces. current book trend is text-dominant covers with interesting font and stylistic elements. i.e. tov has the title "throne of vengeance" as the main eye-catcher, in a metallic, legible but stylistic font, BUT there is the dragon ouroborous ring and the iron-rose dagger on the cover as well. the colours are intentional. the entire cover is an easter egg for the book, almost like a spoiler for those who know. make it engaging. enticing. you wanna draw readers in, but also make fans hyperanalyze and interpret the elements you chose.

another thing--you'll need to know your page count to know how thick the spine should be. so bear that in mind.

commissioning an artist may be expensive. i actually did commission someone for tov. i probably wont for the remainder of the series since this was the most expensive part for me. depending on who you get, it can range from $300 - >$1000. so just keep that in mind. i queried a lot before i commissioned the artist for my cover. and she was very in tune with the books themes, the symbolic motifs, and the general aura of the story when she created the cover. that is a good cover artist. don't pay someone if they dont take the time to learn about your book before making the cover.

i can't think of anymore on the top of my head oops. ALSO if you're gonna use images, pay attention to copyright. you can't use copyrighted pinterest images for your covers. just saying.

6.0 the final read-through:

it should have been some months by now. time to read through your own book, start to finish, and see how you like it. catch any last minute errors, see whether you're satisfied with the end product, make any final revisions. this is the draft you're going to submit for preorder. the pdf cover will be your cover. the blurb will be your blurb.

also, in this phase, add your dedications, your acknowledgements, and your author blurb. oh yeah babes you need a headshot. i just used a picture from vacation LOL oops i dont like taking headshot pictures i got lazy womp womp.

anyways, your author blurb should describe you in a tag line (G.K> Multani, otherwise known as Naveena Khedar, is a pre-med student with a passion for writing... or something like that). then describe your credentials. have you written before? doesn't have to be same genre, but you want to represent your portfolio. list other books, articles, or journals you've written. then you as a person--hobbies, interest, etc outside of writing. finally, list your socials or where people can find you.

7.0 preorders and marketing:

publish the draft on KDP and ingram spark for preorder. announce that your book is available for preorder. it should take about a week for it to be approved and the preorder link to go live. and then repeat the marketing steps from step 4, but this time with your cover and a link to shove down people's throats :)

8.0 publish!

the date it goes live, make it an event! host a live-publish session! do something fun! have a party! do a book signing! go buckwild go crazy!

Q&A/Ask the Cast: a classic, I know my ask box is open but here's also a clear chance to ask something that you've been really curious about! I won't share spoilers for the story, but everything else is on the table, including stuff about me, writing etc. Just no super personal questions is all! Additionally, you can ask the cast questions and answers will be in character, perhaps with a little doodle as well ^-^

Writing Requests: same as all the other request things I've done, same rules apply (no nsfw, suggestive is fine, be specific if you want specific) and will be about 500-1000 words each

DIY the DCA: silly idea I've thought about where using my knowledge as an MechE I determine the costs of materials, equipment, etc. for what it would take to build the daycare attendant yourself, would it be completely accurate? probably not I am not an expert, would it be fun? yeah I fuckin love deep-diving on mcmastercarr for shit

hi! i’m sorry it took me a bit to answer this, i kept forgetting 😭 but thank you for the kind words, i adore your editing so it means a lot coming from you! ANYWAY! i’ll get into it the best i can down below

when it comes to my edits, it really depends on the screenshot. but i’ll use my makoa edit for an example!

so, this is the original unedited screenshot. i’ll be basing my background off the horizon/ocean behind him. (also keep in mind i do this all with photoshop!)

first thing i’ll do is separate makoa from the background. (do this is whatever way works best for you, for me i use quick selection or pen tool depending on my mood) when he is selected, i'll press ctrl+j and he'll appear cut out in a new layer. it should look like this.

pressing ctrl, hover over your cut out sim layer, and click it. this will active the selection again. now, navigate to your original background layer. with the selection still active, go to select > modify > expand. expand this selection by about 15-20px. press okay! your selection will grow. now go to edit > content aware fill press okay. your original background should be filled now. (hide your cut out sim and wooo there ya go) it'll look something like this.

looks a bit funky now, but once we get into laying down the ocean/sky it'll come together in time. SO! first thing i do is grab the ocean texture i've made/edited for personal use. i'll match this the best i can to the in game ocean/adjust it to my liking. it'll look something like this.

now, i use my beloved sky replacement tool in photoshop to add in a sunset! if you don't know where it is just go to edit>sky replacement. choose a sky you like, and mess around with the settings until you get it to your liking. mine looks like this now.

now we've got our almost finished background. here i'll run some topaz/sharpen actions i have, and blur it using tilt shift.

now you can go in and add whatever you'd like. i usually don't finish my background off until i'm almost done editing, since i place everything around my sim. but here i added in the sun, some lighting, birds!

and then it'll come together in the end after shading/highlighting and color adjustments like so.

It was the snoring, really. It was a sign that Red had finally passed the hell out, and Sans was free to pull off his plan.

It was a plan that had been in the works for a while, given Red was so hard to trick. Keeping it on the downlow meant not telling Edge, even, because if Red asked Edge, he’d tell him. They were tight like that, given the whole Underfell thing.

But Sans needed this to be a secret, at least until he was able to get all the pieces in place. Then Red could know, since it involved him and all.

Sans was excited for it, excited to finally get to do something for and with Red that would sort of… steer the rest of their lives. He was ready for this step, and he hoped he hadn’t misread the situation, and that Red was ready too.

He just needed to get the last few things in place, and he’d be prepared for the Big Moment.

Red falling asleep gave him the perfect opportunity to do just that, Sans slipping out of his recliner and past Red without waking him up with all the practice that a relationship of 4 years had given him. Then he went to the kitchen, grabbing the cellphone they kept on the table and heading to the back porch where Red was unlikely to hear him.

Step 1: Order Red’s favorite take out. Complete.

Once the call was over, Sans having gone all out on the food he knew Red liked and that he himself enjoyed, he put the phone back on the table where it could continue to ignore spam calls, heading for the pantry. It had been a pain in the ass hiding Red’s favorite brownie mix where he wouldn’t sniff it out, but Sans had managed by prying up a floorboard and hiding the boxes of mix underneath, as well as the icing and sprinkles he knew his lover liked as well.

Step 2: Make Red’s favorite brownies. Initiated.

It was harder than he thought to move quietly around the kitchen. Sans saw now why Papyrus never really tried; everything seemed prepared to just jump around and clang loudly against whatever was closest to it.

But again, he managed, making a delicious looking brownie batter and putting it in a greased pan before sticking it in the oven.

He was on the clock now, Red would smell the baking chocolate before long, so Sans needed to hurry if he was going to get the last of it done before his lover woke up fully.

He’d never agreed with Papyrus on a lot of the things in his dating manual, but the one thing he did sort of respect, was wearing something nice when you wanted to make an impact. So, carefully tiptoeing past a still loudly snoring Red, he headed to their bedroom. Grabbing the box he’d kept hidden just under the pile of quilts they kept for winter time, he changed into the nice shirt and slacks he’d gotten just for this occasion.

Step 3: Wear something nice. Complete.

By the time he was finished dolling up, Sans was ready to head back to the kitchen, only to pause as he opened the bedroom door. The sound of snoring was no longer there, and there was the low mumble of talking from the front door. Sans couldn’t move, something like shock filling him, as Red thanked whoever it was and shut the door, heavy footsteps coming back towards the bedroom.

Red came around the corner, several bags of take out in his hands, confusion written all over his face. “...Sansy?”

Sans had half a mind to teleport away, which would be stupid. Instead he sighed, giving a lopsided, soft grin.

“It was supposed to be a surprise for when you woke up.”

Red blinked, glancing down at the food he still held. “You spent what… like sixty bucks on food? Why?”

Sans’s grin widened. “That’s not all I did. C’mon.”

Red just stared at him as he walked past, leading him to the kitchen where he mitted up and grabbed out the pan of deliciously gooey brownies.

“I hoped you’d be asleep till I got the toppings on these, but… y’know.” Sans said, gesturing to the bags of food Red had set on the table. Red’s gaze followed, to the food then to the brownies, then to Sans’s outfit.

“…What’s the occasion?” Red finally asked, something like soft suspicion in his voice, and Sans didn’t have it in him to wait till after all of this.

“Well… I love you. And I wanna always love you. So, I thought…”

He took a step forward, reaching into his pocket to get out the little box he’d struggled to keep hidden for weeks, maybe months, and went to kneel down only to stop as Red burst into laughter.

Sans felt a little something like dread fill his belly. “What? What is it?”

Red seemed to be unable to stop laughing, but reached into his own pocket… pulling out a similar box.

“Ya beat me to it, sweetheart.” he said, still chuckling, and Sans couldn’t help but laugh too.

What a pair they were, huh. That was the only thing Sans could think as he surged forward, wrapping around Red and catching him in a kiss.

First, open archiveofourown.org and log in if you haven't already. If you don't have an AO3 account, sign up for one as soon as possible because it takes about a week for them to verify you and give you access to your new account.

Next, select "Post" in the top right hand corner like you would typically. Set up everything you desire as you normally would until you reach "Work Text*".

oh and neither of us can sleep alone btw. we both struggle with sleep all around but it's not that bad when we're together. it's like thing apparently too you know? that like you get sleepy when you're around a person you really feel safe with? so yeah... we take a lot of naps together it's kind of like a shared love language of ours!!!!!!

omg I ADORE this question sev!! thank you so much for sending it! 🥺 I had to think abt this for quite some time as I truthfully I don't actually have selfship lore with Dan Heng LOL so I haven't ever thought this scenario through. I think though that if we did have a kid, I'd leave the name choice to Dan Heng - I am not confident enough in my Chinese to come up with an elegant name HRGFLSJKSSJ whereas I know his ye olde poetic ass could come up with something very nice. He would also be super particular about it I bet - like he is the type to think about whether it's auspicious enough, worries about stroke order and numerology etc... meanwhile March and Trailblazer are just constantly yelling out the dumbest suggestions in the background ("April 7th!" "Lunae"!!!!). To add to his headache - I think if we are on a friendly basis with Jing Yuan and he somehow caught wind of this, he'd end up mentioning this to Fu Xuan, who would end up texting me advice for auspicious naming patterns for the year and our position in whatever galaxy we're in AGDLJZMWSLAJ

In the absence of Dan Heng's naming prowess and Empress Fu's consultation, I think one potential name could be 澄海 ("Chenghai" in Mandarin). It translates literally to "Clear Sea", but it also happens to be the Chinese term for Mare Serenitatis (Sea of Serenity) on the moon. I think it's a nice reference to Dan Heng's lineage (which he has made peace with!), and also a little nod to my connection to Shanghai (上海). Though ultimately I'd just end up calling the kid Cheng Cheng all the time if we went with a name like that... as is the way of a Jiangsu dialect speaker lol

1. I love the chaos that is Drayton and Carmine. (Poor girl is fighting for her dignity to remain intact 😂🤣😭😭)

2. NOT AMARYS BEING THIS 👌 CLOSE TO KNOWING ABOUT CARMINE'S BUSINESS WITH DRAYTON 😂🤣😂🤣 (well, she will find out eventually one way or another but I did not expect it to be this soon)

3. Red gardenia necklace eh... (I am certain the flower language enthusiasts are screaming rn XD)

4. When Drayton said that he and Kieran were going for the necklace with the tickets, they must be competing over who will get it while gathering enough tickets for it, right? Or did somewhere along the line, Kieran did suspect whatever is going on with him and Carmine and decided to help Drayton with getting that necklace? 🤔🤔🤔 (I like to believe it's the former cause it would be fun to have a bit of friendly rivalry just like old times)

The red gardenia 100% has an implied, significant symbolic meaning and @mandachuart helped me for a painstakingly long time to figure out what flower lore to drop and put up with me being picky until I was satisfied. SHE IS BRILLIANT, AND I COULDNT FIND A MORE BRILLAINT FLOWER MYSELF

,,,,how do u get that fuzzy fuzz feel on ur art pieces,, is it just by usin’ noise? (As in static, I think)

oh! i experiment a lot with colors and effects (most of which i don't even remember the name SOB) but i can give you a summarized version of my steb by step on how i art

first of all, the colors!

here's the og, and you can probably see that in most of my art i tend to use grays and soft colors a lot and that's because it's easier for me to pick a 'theme' if you will? like 1 bright color that pops and the rest is a lot less harsh and that's what helps me define the contrary color and base my editing on that!

like here is where i usually choose my colors! but you can pick something darker and more saturated too idk i don't think it'll affect the end result- at least as long as you can change contrast and lighting in your program. i know color theory but not enough to explain it hhh :'D <333

so now use the wind tool on photoshop (there's some free editing versions online that will work just the same) and if you don't have or wanna use Ps, firealpaca and medibang have similar enough options- use motion blur, then the curves tool to make it look liiike

this! now blur the piece from a 5 to 10 range depending on how big your piece is, then you'll have that soft fuzzy outline! put some random static on top (very low opacity) then sharpen the whole thing if your art is very small like mine here so you can see details xD

use the lighten mode on your next layer and add a blue tint to the character (and leave the pop color untouched: here the yellow bg)

if you want a vhs look! and add more line-like static (just google static images and mess with colors/edit them yourself if you can't find any good options on your art program) and change up the hues and tints/contrast if you really wanna lean into the vhs asthetic like:

these! and add a 3D effect (or chromatic aberration? i think that's what the translation is cause my settings are in french xD do look it up if you can't find it on ibispaint, clip studio or whatever program you're using!)

i really suck at explaining so i don't consider this a tutorial, but mostly me rambling about effects and editing hhh but honestly? best advice i can give you is try every single effect you can and see how it looks with hues and color changers added on top of it!

stumble upon new effects and learn how to replicate them without needing to rely on special layers or tools if you're looking to improve your coloring!! >:Dc i only use these because my version of sai doesn't have a blur tool cause i pick the colors myself in most cases now :') but as i said i'm bad at explaining so hope it kinda sorta helped? a little? hhh<3333
