Someone in a discord server I'm in mentioned that they loved how we could throw eclipse with any random villain and it usually ends up working well plot wise and personally I have to agree

Skyclan’s Revival ////Firestar’s Quest AU
Set Up - Au Information
{This is the background information post for this au. The actual au posted after and linked}
Skyclan’s revival is a idea I thought of when thinking about my rewrite I’ve since kinda abandoned. It happens after the end of TPB. The final battle was between Tigerclan, a mix of Shadowclan and Riverclan warriors who followed Tigerstar’s way, and Lionclan made of the cats who followed Firestar to get back the clans along with a few new allies. One of them being Scourge who was the leader of a different group called the Alley Cats, his numbers used to tip the battle to Lionclan’s favor. The battle ends with Scourge and Firestar killing Tigerstar. Scourge gets the last blow with a sharp cut down the large warriors belly ending it once and for all.
As Scourge lets out a loud yell to announce their victory the battle stops. All Tiger Supporters staring in shock at the little black cat over their leaders convulsing body. Everyone watches as the last of Tigerstar’s lives are ripped from him with Scourge just licking his bloodied paw, looking through half closed eyelids as he stares at the cats who are just flabbergasted.
The remaining Tigerstar supporters are either brought back to their own clans or run away unable to follow the new way. A few Alley Cats have found bonds within the clan cats or want a new life so they join, most notably Scourge themself joining TC, Bone joining SHC and named Bonebite, Gremlin joins WC and is named Tawnysnap (Prev Tawnypelt), Brick joins SHC and is named Russetfur, Boulder joins SHC and keeps his name, Minty joins RC and is named Mintbelly.
(A few of these shift the timeline a bit especially Brick as Russetfur but idc. All of Russetfur’s scenes before are replaced by Brightflower the snappy warrior with a heart unable to leave cats out in the cold, especially those with kittens. RussetBrick also brings in her nephew Raspberry who is renamed Rowan and later becomes Rowanclaw/star. Minty becoming Mintbelly is just a full new character along with Bonebite tho Gremlin takes the place of Tawnypelt now named Tawnysnap)
Scourge settles into their new life as a story teller to many of the clans youth and a rather excellent warrior frightening most away when their on patrol. Their reputation as the cat to kill Tigerstar always following them. (Also they use they/them and is nb)
When Firestar goes to the moonstone after the great battle he is told of a clan lost to time, driven away so long ago by the clans and covered up out of shame by Tallstar. He is told that it has been told that if the struggling stragglers are not brought back the whole clan will crumble forever lost. Knowing he has to try and find them Firestar goes back to his clan and says he has to go on a journey, he planned to go alone but Sandstorm and surprisingly Scourge refuse to let him just leave so they tag along, the clan left to the care of Longtail (taking the place of Sand as deputy), Cinderpelt, and Mousefur as extra help ordering the clan.
Bramblepaw is made a warrior slightly earlier because of Fire having to leave, named Bramblestep for his journey of overcoming struggles and steady mind. Sorrelpaw is temporarily given to Mousefur to train.

Major Plotpoints So Far:
Scourge "rescues" Infinite from a base built by Eggman Nega with the intention of using him to defeat Sonic, but Infinite quickly asserts his dominance over the situation; Scourge and Infinite agree to an alliance of sorts, but that eventually turns into a mutual familial bond, and they basically adopt each other as father and son figures
Meta (Metal Sonic given a Mobian hedgehog body by Dr. Eggman) discovers Scourge and Infinite and proceeds to be very antagonistic until they are shown kindness and hospitality; Scourge and Meta butt heads at first because Scourge is afraid Meta will replace him in his relationship with Infinite, but Infinite reassures Scourge that this won't happen, and Scourge learns to eventually see Meta as a younger sibling; Scourge, Meta, and Infinite proceed to move into Infinite's old abandoned family home
Scourge accidentally releases Mephiles from his prison after snatching the artifact he was trapped in that was pulled through time thanks to one of Eggman's machines; Mephiles uses Scourge's shadow to take his form, but due to the circumstances of him being out of his own timeline his form is unstable and he must remain close to Scourge in order to tether himself to the timeline; Meta takes interest in Mephiles from a scientific standpoint and decides to study him while Mephiles proceeds to quite dramatically be a nuisance in the three's lives, especially Infinite's; Mephiles eventually takes Infinite's form to mock him but in doing so he becomes weakened, which prompts Meta to suggest he be given his own mortal body as well; Mephiles is given a body and leaves for a short period of time before returning and properly integrating himself into the family because of his attachment to Meta (and Meta's to him); Mephiles and Infinite discover they have feelings for each other despite everything
Flatline pulls Iblis from Mephiles' timeline into theirs and gives her a mortal Mobian hedgehog form like Mephiles' in order to distract Mephiles enough to where he can get at Infinite's Phantom Ruby, except he botched the process and made her body unstable; Mephiles ruins Flatline's plans by rejecting Iblis in the moment in order to save his current family, but he quickly returns to reassure her that he isn't going anywhere and invites her to join them instead; Iblis agrees because of her love for Mephiles, and Flatline is forced to stay with them as well to work with Meta to stabilize Iblis' body; Flatline eventually grows fond of the family despite his initial ulterior motives, and he decides to stay for real even after Iblis is stabilized; Infinite, Mephiles, and Iblis become a triad after Mephiles reassures Infinite that his feelings for him have not changed even with Iblis in the picture now; Mephiles and Iblis discover they can still fuse into Solaris, just in hedgehog form, and they can also unfuse at will
Flatline discovers Julius (Scourge's late father) was revived similarly to how he was revived--wild chaos energy--and pulled across space into their world; Julius stays with the family but everyone kind of hates his guts because they know about how he used to treat Scourge and why Scourge took his life; eventually Scourge confronts Julius and tells him the full and honest truth about how he feels and has always felt, which finally puts things into perspective for Julius; Julius and Scourge slowly but surely begin to mend their relationship
Sonic runs into Scourge one day and discovers Infinite is back, but upon seeing how neither of them care to get into it with him, he becomes curious and decides to talk to Scourge one-on-one for a while, slowly discovering how much Scourge has changed thanks to his living situation; Sonic and Scourge eventually develop feelings for each other, but Sonic makes a point to make sure Scourge knows Shadow will be involved as well, which ends up not being a huge issue for neither Scourge nor Shadow, and the three of them also become a triad
Scourge, Sonic, and Shadow accidentally create a baby when a giant explosion of their combined chaos energy happens during a high-speed race; they name the child Bangarang (or Bang for short) and proceed to raise them together, with Bang staying at Scourge's place for the majority of the time as Sonic and Shadow don't really have a solid housing situation; Mephiles sees Bang and suggests to Infinite that they have a similar child, and when he agrees, they combine their essences using the Phantom Ruby and Mephiles' god powers to create a jackalhog named Moon; Moon and Bang grow up alongside each other, and Moon eventually renames himself to Vacío to honor Infinite; Bang slowly discovers his Doom powers as they part Black Arms like Shadow, and while they have an easy time wrangling those, Vacío struggles with his Phantom Ruby abilities that he inherited from Infinite
Eggman revives Black Doom by giving him a Mobian hedgehog body like he did with Meta, with the intention of using him against Sonic and Shadow; Black Doom only complies with the intention of getting revenge on Shadow and possibly forcing him over to his side finally; Black Doom manages to shake up Scourge's family by subtly and slowly manipulating Scourge, and eventually this leads to Black Doom full-on controlling Scourge's mind; Sonic, Shadow, and the rest of Scourge's family are able to break him free from Black Doom's control in the end
--
Possible Future Plotpoints:
Mephiles and Iblis have a child, as well as Infinite and the collective Solaris
Some kind of family thing with Black Doom and Shadow (I can't help myself lol. we ball)
--
Extra Important Tidbits:
Meta uses they/them pronouns at first, but later realizes she feels happiest when referred to in a feminine way
The entire family hates that Scourge is dating Sonic and Shadow, but they begrudgingly support him because their love for him is stronger than their hatred for Sonic and Shadow
Mephiles and Iblis remember Sonic and Shadow, and Sonic remembers them, but nobody else remembers them as they are from an erased timeline
Iblis is indifferent towards Sonic and Shadow, whereas Mephiles heavily dislikes them both
Infinite is closer to Mephiles than he is with Iblis, but the three of them are still a very solid and healthy polyamorous relationship
The AU takes place a while into the future; Scourge is 23 at the start of the AU, Meta is 22, and Infinite is 37
--
That's all I have for now! I have a fic version slowly being written as well as a potential comic version (hopefully). This is an ongoing, still-developing AU that just keeps growing, so things may be changed/added/removed as time goes on! :) I hope you stick around to see what unfolds! <3

that silly moment when a while ago I made this warriors au where rusty, princess, scourge, socks, and ruby came from the same litter. and Nutmeg was their mother and Tigerclaw was the father.
even more silly Tigerclaw takes rusty to thunderclan (the “strongest” or whatever) and Nutmeg was like naw man I want all my kits to experience clan life. So she basically drops 1 kit into each clan.
firepaw is haughty cuz his dad is the coolest and strongest cat in his clan, softpaw is spoiled cuz she’s her “dad” (crookedstar)’s pride and joy, littlepaw is sweet because his “dads” (Tallstar & Jake) are the embodiment of love, beetlepaw is not having a good time due to being in the same clan as Brokenstar.
Bramble, Tawny, Hawk, and Moth do not exist in this au, and Silverstream died as a kit.
The siblings slowly find each other (woah you look EXACTLY like me, and what? you aren’t clan born too!?). And each sibling later on has a “moment” where they make a crucial decision in their life, which leads to them getting a scar on or near their nose, as a symbolic connection with Tigerstar.
Trying to see where Ruby fits into this, before she was the leader of bloodclan, but I feel that she’ll come during the whole lake territory thing as a part of skyclan
I named this au ‘Daddy Tigerstar au’

Scourge and Tigerstar brothers AU!
Inspired by @sootslash’s alt parent AUs, thought this would be a neat idea. Born as Nightkit, Scourge left the clans as a sickly kit with his father Pinestar promising to seek medical help from humans. He later returns after Pinestar’s death seeking his remaining family but instead Tigerpaw, unrecognising of the cat he knew as a sister, drives him away instead. They wouldn’t meet again until many moons later, after each has become leaders of their own clans…

chemicals in the lake are making the cats GAY >:(
Basically a masterpost about this specific AU
-Lionblaze transman, autistic and won't pick up any social cue.
-Lionblaze is not a calico, he is a chimera
-Lionblaze big guilt and OCD over his power
-Lionblaze fears he will end up like Scourge as a part of his OCD (i have to find a way to let everyone know that Scourge is related to Firestar tho....)
-Lionblaze and Toadfoot only aknowledge each other in The Fourth Apprentice when they are on their way to the beavers and they become gay
-Lionblaze keeps his personality from late po3 (kind of dumb, can't pick up any clue, very ocd, is socially very awkward and clumsy, clearly needs help to navigate social situations properly)
-Lionblaze is very much the same as in canon, very flawed, he is still the most forgiving of the 3 and does try to talk it out with Squirrelflight and Leafpool, he feels very isolated in his clan due to the prophecy, the lies around his birth and Hollyleaf being presumed dead, which makes him more prone to have a relationship with an outsider instead of a thunderclan warrior
-Toadfoot also went through losing a sibling (Marshkit), he doesn't have a canonical father so I think he would be very attached to his mom (Tallpoppy) and remaining sibling (Applefur), he is also seen being playful, friendly and understanding towards Flametail I love toadfoot
-Lionblaze and Toadfoot have big rivals to lovers energy and it was my favorite weird "crack" ship when I was 13
-The AU also centers around the flaws of StarClan and their weird mechanic that keeps changing over time (ashfur goes to starclan because he just found his way there, and leafpool gets to go through a whole trial somehow???)
-Living cats and StarClan fight dark forest first, and then living cats turn more or less against StarClan for being as incomprehensible as possible, doing blatant favoritism, letting bad seeds get in and throwing out overall good cats, and the warrior code will also be reformed because it's way overdue grrrr
-Maybe Dovewing and Ivypool are the babies of Hollyleaf and Cinderheart instead of Birchfall and Whitewing ? I never really liked that Dovewing was indeed linked to the 3 but she was so far away in family tree tbh :((
-Lionblaze will have babies with Toadfoot as some point (Maybe adopted ? I don't know yet) and they won't have many children, and I will do everything in my power to get rid of all the current incest in the books >:(
-I think the babies of Lionblaze and Toadfoot will look like Tallpoppy and Leafpool because i love them
-Leafpool, Squirrelflight and Tallpoppy will both be aware of the relationship at some point, but they will keep their mouth shut and be supporting mothers because they are very cool and progressive
-I don't know if I will ever write fanfiction about this, I am already working on a clangen project, so if I do anything about it it will only be a small side project ! I use this AU to rewrite things that make me happier than the canon version (like making transman OCD autistic lionblaze, i find it easier for me to relate to him) :)
I hope you like it, I shall disappear again for a while now, I have art fight attacks to work on >:)

Question: just out of curiosity but what is the simplest AU you find just 100/10, because even though it's such a simple change, something about the idea seems so good even if it changes so little of the actual book?
I only ask this question because I've seen your take on Warriors; though if you could change just one thing, what would it be?
I will admit, I don't know if you've been asked this before, so bear with me.
These are great questions!
ok my fave REALLY simple/small change is making Sandpaw and Longtail the same character. Think about it... Sandpaw is the one to fight Rusty and tear off his collar, Sandpaw is the one who was mentored by Darkstripe, Sandpaw was asked by Tigerclaw to join her in his exile... Sandpaw realizing that she had been looking up to the cat who had killed her father...
that and Sandstorm being Firestar's first deputy. she just deserves it.
...
the one thing I would change out of all warriors is either Ravenpaw being Scourge or Leafpool having Lion and Jay while Squirrel has Holly.
Ravenpaw, bec it is just SO thematically fitting, and it brings back around plot points from earlier in the series, tying up loose ends, something that is very important in a story! Scourge is NEVER hinted at until the very last book, however if he was the surprise return of Fire's old friend it would be a pay off from Ravenpaw's arc!
The 3's heritage bec if Hollyleaf was not actually Lion and Jay's sibling it would give more of a reason as to why she was not one of the three. And! it would be an absolute gut punch to Holly for her to find out that she was never her brother's biological sibling... she was never a part of their prophecy... (bonus points if Lion and Jay had a 3rd littermate that died, and would have been the 3rd cat!)

Double Arrangement
Tumblr media
Sabo x Reader
cw : royalty au, strangers to lovers, arranged/political engagement, reader is royalty, sabo is cold (but will warm up over time in other chapters) // wc : 3.851 words
Tumblr media
Part 1
“What a happy day, isn't it? For our families to have settled on this union.”
“Yes mama,”  you inclined your head towards your mother in an acquiescing manner — a tall astute woman known for her stern character hidden behind a kind smile. Seeing the faint smile blooming on your lips, one that had been forged through years of etiquette lessons, she turned her radiance towards the guests seated opposite the two of you. In turn you did as such, your eyes landing first and foremost on the man who had just been appointed as your fiance but not without stretching your lips further as decorum would have it.
Much in contrast to proper manners, your betrothed far from spared you the necessity of giving you a smile, rather keeping a pointed expression that soon found interest elsewhere from your profile. His aversion made it easier for you to scourge his features — named Sabo, blond haired, round eyed, an ailment on his left eye that was enough to incite scorn as scars were the same as losing one's standing in society. Even if the decoloration of his affliction far from bothered you, society wouldn't be as kind behind closed doors. Nevertheless, he sat looking attractive in his blue colored garments, leaving your heart to delay its flutter only once enough time would be given to get acquainted.
But for now, you had bigger worries for a forced engagement had been casted upon your shoulders, as the second child but first born daughter of your family. Your prospects were either to marry high nobility of your land or board a boat overseas. Following an unconventional past experience with the world beyond your borders it rendered you fearful of the unknown as someone thrown out of her element like a freshwater fish thrown into the ocean; you mused it wise to keep a higher authority, acquaintances and your family closer to your grasp in your homeland.
Love stories were a luxury of fiction, a sweet temptation to divert the mind and the heart from reality. A reality which sat before you in all its grandeur, as the chatter of your soon to be family in law echoed in your mind. Perhaps other members of society were accorded the pleasantry of seeking love matches. Even if you seeked the answer to this question, envied them for it, the reality remained that you were constricted to the coffins of your rank. Suffocating as it sometimes were, your gender additionned with your birth number made for a more breathable world. And now, as your bottom rested on a rather comfortable sofa, the invisible entrapment of a promised marriage came to suffocate your reality. In a rather swift and decisive way too, as just only a week ago the notion of marriage remained as a simple afterthought in your mind.
“I trust this union will make you see us as a part of your family. Of course we don't dream of ever replacing your parents, but that we will forge a similar bond over time dear,” the interpellation of the women sitting opposite you stirred you away from your musing.
Another polite smile. “Of course, Mrs. Didit,” you stared at the woman while hiding away the wretchedness she aroused in you through her pamperous and obscene behavior. Additionally, the father too, Outlook III, shared a common tinge of character as his wife, making the pair far from agreeable let alone likable. Despite their play at convincing your family, your heart far from agreed to entertain the false promises of accepting them as your kin.
“I believe it is time we let our children get acquainted with one another,” your mother raised aloud,  stirring another round of stiff smiles and chuckles as last pleasantries were given.
With the emptying of the room, you finally felt like you had space to breathe — nevertheless you kept your posture, back straight and hands resting on your lap, as your position demanded it. You gave a quick glance at your bothered who had yet to say much on the occasion with the adults present. Under normal circumstances, it would be considered rude to not so much as partake in the conversation. Was it an attempt at silently rebelling the mariage? Or was he simply the shy type? In any case you could only hope he wasn't the tied tongued type.
“They all seem over the moon, as if they're marrying themselves,” you gave a stark chuckle to lighten up the atmosphere.
Sabo looked at you with a blank indecipherable expression. “Wish they would tone it down a bit but they'll probably be at it until the actual ceremony happens.” His voice was low, steady and devoid of any feelings.
A part of you rejoiced at his response — at least your days wouldn't be spent in total quietude. “And after that they'll fill our ears with talk of babies,” you added, hoping to bond on a shared enemy.
However your claims were met with an iron wall. “Are you opposed to this mariage?” Sabo asked, sending such an inquiring gaze to pierce through yours it took you aback.
“Should I be?” The bridge between your eyebrows furrowed itself.
“I always thought princesses like you dreamed of grand mariages and promises of love.”
The incredulous statement made you spill out an offended scoff. To hear an unfiltered opinion of the masses made you realize just how absurd your gilded world must sound to others outside the walls.
“Am I wrong?” Sabo pressed further, raising an eyebrow as he kept his unreadable composure.
“Well,” you began, shifting over your sitting cushion. “I did in fact dream of love and all its promises once upon a time ago.” You fiddled with your fingers, blinking as a diversion to avert your eyes.
“I feel there is a but coming, feel free to speak freely,” Sabo gave a respectably nod.
You thinned your lips, feeling guilty of pointing out an obvious reality. “We're strangers,” you curtly said. “Even with a flashing ceremony, what love is there to be found with someone I know less of than my own personal staff?” You explained.
Sabo hummed and nodded in approval. “Glad we agree on that. I wasn't planning on seeing this through either way.”
It was with utter unsettlement that you tilted your head to the side, bewildered at his announcement. “Excuse me?”
“I do not wish to marry you,” Sabo frankly repeated, keeping his uptight sitting position and fists clenched on his legs.
“Surely you will not do me the humiliation of not seeing this through?” Your voice took on a breathy note while your core started feeling the restraints of your corset.
“Someone of your rank will recover from this,” his sharp words seemed to cut past the layers of lessons and facades built into you.
Your breathing quickened. “Surely not after such an affront, I will be sent abroad!” You slowly shook your head, mostly for yourself than to make him realize your desperation.
“Oh what a bad thing,” Sabo sarcastically said, and at the spiteful glare you  gave him he quickly added. “You will be fine, I'm sure.”
“No. I agreed to this marriage, to avoid such a fate. We must work this out, find a common ground, something, please!”
Sabo kept his walls, only allowing himself a slight disapproval shake of the head. “I'm afraid there is nothing for us to negotiate on.”
“Then what is your reason for refusing? Responsibility? You will have none for my brother is king. Being a Duke shouldn't be far off your alley,” you rather harshly spat, feeling the rumbling of an unsure future elevate the rhythm of your breathing.
“My circumstances are not for you to know,” Sabo dryly responded.
Your palms clenched into fists as a boiling down your stomach raged. Nevertheless your upbringing prevented you from spewing profanities at the man before you. “Then, if I may, how will you waltz your way through this engagement? Or am I not entitled to know?”
Sabo mustered your gaze for a few moments. “Well, as you are a part of this, you should be made aware that I intend to keep it up for appearance's sake and once…” he trailed off, furrowing his eyebrows not from anger but from discontent. “Once my affairs are in order, I shall disappear without pinning no blame on you whatsoever.”
“And how long will this charade last?” The polished nails from your fingertips clawed at your skin unconsciously.
“Say two to five weeks at most.”
You took in a deep breath, feeling the straightness of your back starting to burn in discomfort. “I thank you for your honesty. Had you been sincere from the start, we would have both greatly benefited from not having to be in one another's company for such a short time,” all traces of counterfeited courtesy left your face seeing as there was no need to keep up a facade with a deceitful stranger.
“I had no intention of proceeding with this engagement. Things went haywire which led to this unfortunately,” Sabo tried to plead but you paid him no mind, receiving it instead with a dry scoff.
On this note you stood up, feeling betrayed and reluctant to stare a second longer into his emotionless blank eyes. “Oh what a bad thing to happen,” you sarcastically spoke in turn, scarcely refusing to accord him a curtsey before your brisk heels stomped the carpet and carried you elsewhere.
----
Love never came easy to all. This you knew and were ready to make the necessary work towards achieving this desired necessity for a smooth mariage. But instead, you found yourself entrapped with a mixture of anxiety, fear and despise towards someone you were ready to move mountains for. Someone who had spoken their mind freely and truly, sparing you the hollows from darkness of the unknown by confiding in you rather than lie or keep secrets. Someone who had expressed their wishes, which you had, in retrospect, poorly reacted to. If your mind wasn't in such a frenzy as to what fate awaited you at the end of the month, you would instead be wallowing in self-deprecation for your poor display of understanding, let alone empathy.
You had no knowledge of the whereabouts of your mother, nor the guests she entertained for that matter, therefore your pace led you to a secluded place, bolting in a respectable way between the hard workers of the castle. Climbing a flight of stairs, hands treading up the hem of your skirts, you ignored all until you reached the royal infirmary.
There your body found comfort, basking in the sunlight that seeped through the open curtains, the transparency of the uniform white color that inhabited the room, leaping along in a similar way on the sheets from the single bed with rows of pharmaceutics surrounding it, the vague smell of antiseptics and the sight of the nurse. A kindhearted woman with purple hair, named Kobato and sporting glasses who had been accorded the privilege of nursing not only you but your family line as well, while the physician busied himself through other household summons.
“Are you ill, your highness?” The woman asked, scrambling to stand from her desk to bend in a curtsey, her eyes luring over your form.
In fact, through your rush in coming here your cheeks had shot red in color and your breathing had increased in a ragged mess since leaving the sitting room. The nurse's concern was well placed.
“I'm fine,” you breathed and went to lie on the bed. Its plush, silk texture soothed the exterior of your predicament as the nurse went to stand nearby.
“Would you like a glass of water?” She asked, taking notice of your breathless behavior.
You nodded. “That would be appreciated, yes.”
As she busied herself, you slumped further into the pillow, staring at the pristine ceiling that, unlike the many other rooms lacked in lavish decorations, which often than not prevented your eyes from feeling overwhelmed. Your mind followed suit, sinking in the news you received the day before that you were to be engaged, plus meet with his family the next day. How, despite having the knowledge that no pleas or arguing would help your case, you gritted your teeth and welcomed an obscene couple into your home, played at false pretenses during a brunch and finally as private time had been bestowed onto the pair like a reward, you faced the soon to be news that it would all fall apart.
“There you go miss,” the nurse handed you the glass. You propped yourself into a sitting position, eyes lingering in the past while you uttered a faint appreciation of her gesture before drinking.
Soon the glass was freed from your person and you laid back down, propping your hand on your core like a corpse as you felt your rapid rise of the chest quell down.
“Is royalty unlovable?” You asked the nurse, fully expecting a certain answer.
Her honeyed voice filtered through your ears like butter. “Of course not! It would be everyone's greatest honor to marry into the royal family,” she assured you.
A silence occurred in which you focused only on your breathing.
“Is this about your recent engagement?” Her tone carried uncertainty as she felt dubious whether her question was appropriate.
“I'm afraid I am not to marry,” you dryly said.
“What terrible news, how so?”
Your eyes maintained their focus on the white ceiling. “He has other obligations inquiring him to run away and which he does not wish to share with me.” Seeing as the nurse had returned to her desk, you failed to witness the compassionate gaze she bore. “What am I to do? I do not wish to leave everything I've ever known behind to marry another elsewhere,” you murmured in a low voice. Your heart clenched while your knuckles turned white. Such a display would grant you a lecture from your mother, but thankfully the nurse was one of the few discreet, tight lipped individuals of the palace.
“Your highness could accompany him into his business if she doesn't wish to end the engagement,” the nurse spoke after a moment of musing.
You bit your lower lip, feeling she had a point for as -if- the marriage would come to pass, both of you would be thrown out of your respective residence to start anew in a new one. “Is that my only option?” You asked. Begging your family to betroth you to another at this stage would not only be folly, but a complete affront they would never be compelled to face.
“Or you could give him a reason to stay. Convince him that the pros of your alliance far outweighs those of his obligation.”
You shifted over the bed covers, turning towards the nurse to glimpse at the truest smile one could find here. There were no traces of malice from her face or words of advice. The history that had settled over the years compelled you to trust in her words as you gave her a hopeful smile.
“Thank you, I'll try,” you sat up as she nodded. At the end of the day, you were also a member of the royal bloodline — if your brother and mother were too proud to marry you off to another member of society, then why let the man in question fly his wings elsewhere? Why, after knowing of his intentions, would you sit by and let it happen? What good would come off it but your own loss of face? Like many, you had your own pride too. Plus arranged marriages weren't uncommon, and God forbids you let it dissolve without a common ground of understanding.
It was with this resolution that you bid farewell to the nurse, thanking her for the advice and time she spared you and headed down the halls once more. You marched, once again sparing few notice at the constant buzzing of the staff amidst the castle, instead forging a rough plan following the guidance you had received.
After having a general idea to propose, you confidently turned the doorknob of the room you previously sat in only to be met with absolute desolation from the lack of living being. A pout rounded your lips — of course Sabo wouldn't have stayed alone in the same room for so long. You closed the door behind you, thinking of the places a guest might take interest in from the palace but resorted to asking the working personnel for any sightings of your fiance until you found the answer.
“Sabo, there you are,” you walked upon the grass and further into the garden; flowers of all kinds lounged the side, and lush wisteria trees descended like an accomplice to partly hide the height of your betrothed.
Hearing his name, he perked his head up in your direction, giving a look, again far from decipherable. “Are we to return to our parents?”
You shook your head, stopping once you had entered the coffins under the tree to stand before him. “Not at all.”
“Then what is it?” His tone was rather impatient, which didn't come as a surprise.
The scent of the flowers blooming into one aroma prevented you from losing your cool. “May I ask, are you refusing to marry because you love another? Will you wed someone else?”
“Far from that actually. Though you could say there are others whom I love outside of this life,” his reply sounded disinterested, almost as though he owed you that much for the sake of your inner peace.
Good. Then it meant there is place for negotiations. You ignored his innuendo, pressing further with your plan. “I'm aware you previously refused all forms of negotiations, but will you hear me out?”
“Anything for her highness,” he sarcastically said, his eyes visibly fighting an eye roll.
Once again, you brushed aside his rudeness. “You are, as I imagine, planning on leading a life outside of your noble status, correct?”
He nodded. “So?”
“Have you considered the cons such a life would provide?  Think, if you, or those you briefly fondly spoke of, were to fall ill how will you pay for the medical bill? I may not know which part of town you wish to live in but how will you seek refuge if a plague were to break out? How will you eat if a famine occurs?”
It was enough to compel him to roll his eyes properly. “Discomfort is of no concern to me. If nobles weren't living such a life, maybe the issues you spoke of wouldn't be a problem.”
“Perhaps not, but the reality remains that it is. They exist, and you, who have been sheltered under the roof of said nobles, have made your body acclimated to such a life.”
“Which I refuse to lead any longer,” he darkly said.
“Then perhaps you could consider the benefits of a double life?” He raised an eyebrow which internally left you gleeful to have aroused his interest. “Look, political engagement like ours isn't only for couples to get to know one another while our respective parties benefit from it. We can also both get something out of it.” You took in a deep breath. “We marry, apart from your required presence at certain events, you lead a life free from the responsibilities of a Duke, which I shall assume instead while you maintain the financial security and aid the title provides.” Now that the cat was out of the bag, your heart raced in anticipation while awaiting his answer.
Sabo scoffed, baffled at your statement. “And how is it, your highness, that you can utter such words with confidence? Have you ever done paperwork?”
Your expression twisted, offended. “Do not assume my capabilities based on my title. I'll have you know that as the second in line, I received an education, perhaps not as precise as my brother, but nonetheless fit enough to rule the kingdom if his life was to slip away! Managing a mere dukedom is like child's play!” You reeled in his face, even if the hidden truth remained you sometimes indulged more in dilly dallying than work.
“Apologies,” and for once he spoke of sincerity, for the fire in your chest quelled at his words. “Say we proceed with your plan, what is there for you in this? Surely not love?”
You briefly exhaled through your nose. “Love?” You brushed aside the preposterous idea with the wave of your hand. “What love is there to be found while trying to make a common agreement? I desire nothing more than to avoid being sent abroad.”
To your relief, Sabo didn't pry further in your reasoning, inclining his interest elsewhere. “How will you be so sure no one will pry into our business?”
“We could consider moving to the countryside. None will take interest in a couple that moves so far away from the town and it's gossip.” Finally, you felt seen, as the look he casted on you wasn't so devoid of emotions but one with keen interest. “Furthermore, if you do not desire this path, I am willing to sacrifice my privilege to be your companion on your journey.” With hesitancy, you wrapped your fingers around his hands, at first delicately for it was the first time you physically interacted with a man outside of your family. “Our worlds collided today, but it doesn't mean we can't make the most of it.” Your fingertips that now found ease on the warmth of Sabo's hands gave a slight squeeze to emphasize your point.
Sabo's eyebrows furrowed. “No,” he abruptly pulled his hands away from your grasp, showing no remorse from the abrupt shock on your face. “You speak without knowing of my plans. It may all sound grand to you, but I do not wish to carry dead weight with me.”
“I am not dead weight!”
“But have you ever walked down commoner’s streets?” His eyebrows drew closer together and his voice had raised an inch, the reality of his location preventing him from properly shouting.
Ashamed to answer aloud, you bit your lower lip while averting your gaze.
“There is no telling whether the life I want for myself will be suitable for you. I can't let you accompany me.” He firmly said.
His tone was final, however you longed to plead your case further. Therefore you parted your lips, but before the sound of your resistance came forth, the voice of your mother came to interrupt instead.
“Ah, finally. We were beginning to wonder where you both had wandered off to.” Yet you spared none of your attention towards her voice, keeping instead a disappointed but hopeful look on Sabo.
Feeling more hurt than you'd like to admit, you watched as Sabo walked past you, his ignoring the following of your gaze along himself to rejoin the group of adults. It was also with reluctance that you stiffened your features, squared your shoulders with a straight back and followed in his tracks.

i am SOOO unbelievably thrilled by your anthro au omg. do you have fashion ideas for the characters? like their favorite outfits, fabrics, etc? imo one of the best parts of anthro characters is deciding how they'd express themselves through their clothing :]
I HAVE A FEW ALREADY!!!! i dont have many specifics because theres so many characters ahd i havent drawn them all yet LOL but i'll share the ones i do have at least SOMETHING for
im also trying to keep these reasonable for the time period and location, as in my au the clan cats are mostly rural and in small towns set (mostly) before the 2000s so most may dress more modest and conservative (especially if theyre older and very religious)
squirrelflight - the best i can describe her sense of fashion is that it ranged from tomboy as a younger girl and is currently closer to a working class butch. im not sure if masc would be a more appropriate term since i dont hc her as a lesbian (shes bi) but she dresses "like a man" and owns a lot of jeans, slacks, and button-up shirts of all kinds of fabrics and patterns. she also enjoys bright colors as well, but as she got older her fashuon sense got a little more sensible and less "loud" like it was in the 60s and 70s. she also has glasses like her daddy once shes like 35 or so. she and firestar dressed very similarly, and a lot of her shirts and neckties are things she stole from his closet
feathertail - very feminine. hippie adjacent, lots of loose and flowing garments and jingly pieces. breatheable clothes and open toed shoes. her favorite swimsuit had some little frilly bits on it i think. often combines neutral earthy tones with blues and whites
crowfeather - lots of handmedowns from his father. clothes you can do farmwork in like jeans, overalls, hardy flannel/denim shirts and boots. never grew out of this and still dresses this way and he likes it
jayfeather - he looks like a modernized (as far as the 80s goes) version of his father - same hairstyle snd way of dress. he isnt too formal but does have some more preppiness to his clothing style (polo shirts and sweaters). he avoids full button downs since buttoning them himself jjust gets frustrating since he cant match them up every time. new wave band shirts. he also wears orange tinted glasses to protect his eyes (in this au i wrote that hes able to perceive shadows and light pretty okay, but not much else beyond that) And Kinda As A Fashion Statement cuz it goes well with his facial structure and hairstyle i think
lionblaze - hes like if the stereotypical jock and stereotypical 80s rock+metal enthusiast had a baby. muscle tees and bandanas, ripped jeans, those absurdly short shorts, crop tops, etc. he's a drummer i think if that matters LOL
ivypool - punk, also sorta like joan jett to an extent. very homemade, tho sometimes she gets lazy and doesnt really commit to the outfits all the way (but definitely has the mindset, dint get me wrong). one of those girls with a chest small enough to go braless 99% of the time; wears a lot of tank tops and sleeveless shirts LOL
bone/brick/scourge - just google "the outsiders movie" or "greaser" and you'll get the idea. tho i imagine these three in particular also have some kind of bare minimum formalwear scraped together from their escapades. theyre kinda like the jetts/sharks from west side story if that helps at all
daisy - she combines flowing, pretty dresses with a sunhat and work boots. she also teaches horseback riding and owns a few (its a business she runs w smokey and floss. i think its be funny if they were polyam ITS MY AU I CAN CHANGE WHAT I WANT) and she has horseback-appropriate clothing as well
poppyfrost - THEE preppy girl of the 80s. big hair, perm and all. dresses with pastel colors. her sisters cinderheart and honeyfern are pretty similar, tho i imagine honeyfern is a little more sporty and cinderheart takes inspiration from madonna once shes trying to court lionblaze
hazeltail - long haired country girl butch. enough said
spottedleaf snd cinderpelt are nuns lol

Pinestar is Rusty’s Father AU
I know there’s no way I’m the first person to come up with this AU, but it’s been stewing around in my brain for a while (like the Smudge!Scourge AU) so I wanted to talk about it! The AU really intrigues me mostly because I see a ton of new possibilities for interesting dynamics between Firestar and Tigerstar. So here’s a break-down of how I’d imagine it playing out book-by-book for the first arc, going over where I see deviations from canon. (Long post below!)
Book 1
Rusty is born to Nutmeg, but his father is Pine (the former Pinestar) instead of Jake. Rusty is an only kit and Pine is very protective of him. Pine lives nearby and visits him often, even after Rusty is given to a new home, and plays an active role in his life. (However, Nutmeg lives further away, or she and her humans move, leaving Pine and Rusty only with each other.)
Pine warns Rusty about the forest and the dangers of the Clans. He does not tell Rusty that he was once a leader, but he does admit to having been a ThunderClan cat named Pinestar. However, Pine had grown tired of the Clans’ pointless fighting and chose to leave. Despite Pine’s overall negative view of the Clans, Rusty is a very curious kitten (who is also getting forest dreams, sent by StarClan) so is only intrigued more by Pine’s warnings. The main thing Pine speaks fondly of in ThunderClan is his former mate and kit, Tigerkit, wondering if they are okay. Because Rusty is an only child, he is super interested at the thought of having a brother. He imagines Tigerkit to be the strongest, best warrior in all the Clans. However, Pine remains very insistent that Rusty never go into the forest, and Rusty reluctantly promises him he won’t.
Pine is very old however, and when Rusty is around 6 moons old, he dies. Rusty is devastated by the loss of his dad, and he becomes quite lonely. He longs for more family, but he is unable to visit Nutmeg. Rusty’s StarClan forest dreams keep getting stronger too, adding to Rusty’s discontent. Feeling like he no longer belongs in the twolegplace and after convincing himself that he is no longer bound to his promise to his dad to never go in the forest (since Pine has died,) Rusty leaves his home to go join ThunderClan, wanting to find his long-lost brother, Tigerkit.
Rusty runs across a ThunderClan patrol led by Bluestar, and she allows him to come with her back to camp, mostly because of his pelt color matching with the “fire alone will save our clan” prophecy (which Bluestar and Spottedleaf still receive in this AU.) But Rusty’s reception in ThunderClan is less than stellar. Rusty eagerly announces that he wants to join the Clan because his father was Pinestar, a ThunderClan cat. However, he is quite shocked as ThunderClan is disgusted by this, viewing him as the son of traitorous leader who abandoned his Clan. (So Rusty now has to deal with that added baggage, in addition to being a kittypet.) Rusty is saddened that ThunderClan views his father so negatively. Rusty had no idea that his father was once leader, and the Clan’s opinion of him doesn’t match up with Rusty’s memory of his father as a noble cat who just wanted to live out his old age in peace. However, the entire Clan is so insistent about Pinestar being the worst, Rusty starts to doubt his own memory of his father, thinking he might have not known Pine as well as he thought he did. But, Rusty wants to work hard to prove himself to them, and also in a way, clear his dad's name by becoming a good Clan cat himself. Rusty is renamed Firepaw, but is not given a proper mentor because Bluestar declares that because of his heritage and kittypet roots, he will be in a probationary period where he has to prove himself worthy of being a true ThunderClan cat.
Also, of course when Firepaw joins, he is so excited to meet “Tigerkit,” asking about him right away. Firepaw is super impressed by Tigerclaw’s strength and size. Naturally though, Tigerclaw wants nothing to do with Firepaw. He is disgusted by the reminder of his weak, pathetic father (especially because Firepaw so strongly physically resembles Pine.) Despite Tigerclaw’s cold and sometimes outright cruel demeanor, like with the rest of ThunderClan, Firepaw is still determined to prove himself to him. He continues to admire Tigerclaw regardless of his poor treatment of him.
After a little bit of time passes in which Firepaw trains, Tigerclaw does seem to come around to Firepaw, and he starts acting warmer to him. After “testing” him in some dangerous situations, Tigerclaw has realized that Firepaw is more competent than he first believed, and Tigerclaw is smart enough to see that Firepaw's blind admiration could be used to his advantage. By exploiting his love, Tigerclaw is able to manipulate his naive little brother in almost however way he wishes. Tigerclaw and Firepaw “grow closer.” This results in Firepaw seeing being the best warrior he can be and strictly following the code to a T "just like Tigerclaw,” as the best way for him to shed the shadow of his heritage and become a great ThunderClan warrior.
Because Firepaw admires Tigerclaw so much, it takes him way longer than in canon for him to realize anything bad about Tigerclaw. Tigerclaw had still killed Redtail, and Ravenpaw witnessed it. Ravenpaw tries to warn Firepaw that Tigerclaw is dangerous when he sees his friend growing closer to him. Ravenpaw even gets desperate enough to eventually try to tell Firepaw about the murder, but Firepaw thinks Ravenpaw must have been mistaken. There is no way Tigerclaw would ever raise a claw against his own Clanmates!
Because Ravenpaw is never taken to shelter in the barn by Graypaw and Firepaw, Ravenpaw is quietly murdered by Tigerclaw, permanently silencing him. Firepaw is greatly sadden by Ravenpaw's sudden death but of course suspects nothing of Tigerclaw. Firepaw also becomes better friends with Dustpaw and Longtail thanks to Tigerclaw's influence. After Ravenpaw’s death and Firepaw completing the probationary period, Tigerclaw is even named Firepaw's official mentor, allowing Tigerclaw to sink his hooks in even more deeply.
Because of Tigerclaw’s influence, Firepaw does not help Yellowfang when he finds her on their territory. Instead, he and Tigerclaw chase her off ThunderClan land as they would for any trespasser. This results in ThunderClan being without a medicine cat when Spottedleaf is killed by Clawface. Bluestar is deeply distraught by this development, and starts to lose faith in herself and in StarClan. Bluestar feels as if the “Fire alone” prophecy is ThunderClan’s only hope, and she pins it all on Firepaw being the chosen one. This results in her starting to show clear interest in him over the other apprentices. This does not go unnoticed by Tigerclaw, although he doesn’t know why Bluestar is so interested in Firepaw.
Lionheart dies in the fight that drives Brokenstar from ShadowClan and Tigerclaw becomes deputy of ThunderClan after his death, like in canon. Fireheart and Graystripe also earn their warrior names, but Sandstorm and Dustpelt had gotten theirs first (Tigerclaw insists on Firepaw receiving thorough training, even though Bluestar seemed eager to make him a warrior as soon as possible.) Book 1 ends with Fireheart (unknowingly) firmly under Tigerclaw’s paw, and Tigerclaw appreciating more and more the benefits of having his half-brother’s undying loyalty, especially with Bluestar being so fond of Fireheart.
Book 2
With Brokenstar driven out of ShadowClan, Fireheart is picked out by Bluestar and Tigerclaw to go retrieve WindClan. However, Sandstorm (not Graystripe) is picked to accompany him at Tigerclaw’s insistence. This is a careful calculation on Tigerstar’s part. Almost all of Tigerclaw’s biggest supporters are the younger warriors. Fireheart and Graystripe are good friends, but Tigerclaw thinks Graystripe is a bit of a buffoon. He believes Sandstorm to be much more competent, and although Sandstorm deeply respects Tigerclaw, she has never gotten over her disdain for Fireheart and his soft kittenhood. Fireheart is Tigerclaw’s most loyal follower, and Tigerclaw wants a united group of allies, so getting Sandstorm to at least tolerate Fireheart is critical to that.
Neither Fireheart or Sandstorm are happy about being paired together for this mission, but they inevitably bond over the course of the journey to get WindClan and come back. By the end of it, there is even a spark of romantic tension between the two. Tigerclaw is quite pleased that his plan worked so well when they return.
Fireheart is shortly after given Cinderpaw as his first apprentice (thanks to a suggestion by Tigerclaw to Bluestar, who is happy to favor Fireheart due to the prophecy.) But, Cinderpaw is hit by a monster and gravely injured. ThunderClan is still without a medicine cat, so Cinderpaw is taken to WindClan for treatment. Because WindClan feels indebted to ThunderClan for retrieving them, Barkface is happy to care for Cinderpaw in repayment. As Fireheart grieves over his injured apprentice, Tigerclaw is there to comfort him. Tigerclaw reveals that Goldenflower is expecting his kits when he promises Fireheart one of them to train as a new apprentice.
While Fireheart had been gone saving WindClan, Graystripe had started his affair with Silverstream. When Fireheart discovers it, he is very upset, even more so than in canon due to his apprenticeship under Tigerclaw. Fireheart and Graystripe have a huge falling out over it, and Fireheart puts the final nail in their friendship’s coffin when he rats out Graystripe to Tigerclaw, telling him what he knows about Graystripe’s illegal relationship. Graystripe is punished (not as much as Tigerclaw would have liked, but Bluestar has a soft-spot for cats caught in cross Clan relationships, who’d have thought.) Meanwhile, Fireheart grows closer to Dustpelt, Sandstorm, and Longtail, integrating fully into their friend group and leaving Graystripe on the wayside.
Cinderpaw survives her injury and decides that she’d like to be ThunderClan’s medicine cat. She stays in WindClan for the time being, still recovering but also starting medicine cat training under Barkface.
Like in canon, Brokenstar and his rogues attack ThunderClan’s camp, but they are defeated. Brokentail is blinded by Fireheart, and Bluestar decides to keep him prisoner rather than execute him immediately.
Book 3
Despite Graystripe’s punishment, his desire to see Silverstream isn’t totally killed, and Fireheart catches him in the act of meeting with her again. Silverstream is now pregnant, and Fireheart explodes at his former friend. He and Graystripe start arguing about how RiverClan is "evil" for all the fighting over Sunningrocks and the ThunderClan cats who have died there, with Fireheart spouting a lot of Tigerclaw's talking points. Silverstream gets angry and cuts in that that RiverClan has lost cats in those battles too. In response, Firestar says something about how Tigerclaw was just avenging Redtail by killing Oakheart. This is when Silverstream drops the bomb of "what are you talking about, Oakheart died in a rockfall."
Fireheart rejects her words in the moment, but they still linger over the next few weeks. Of course he wants to believe Tigerclaw’s story over hers, but this in combination with what he was told by Ravenpaw before he died plants the first seeds of real doubt in his mind. Fireheart almost wants to go back and ask Silverstream for more details, or proof to back up her claim, but before he can, Silverstream dies giving birth. Goldenflower takes in her kits to care for alongside her newborns (Fireheart’s niece and nephew.)
WindClan and ShadowClan find out that ThunderClan is harboring Brokentail. In response, Barkface stops training Cinderpaw, who returns to ThunderClan, putting ThunderClan in a difficult position. They really have no reason to protect Brokentail, but they will look weak if they bend to WindClan and ShadowClan’s demands to hand him over. RiverClan has also demanded that ThunderClan give them Silverstream’s kits. Bluestar is paralyzed by the threats from all the other Clans and with ThunderClan still not having a fully trained medicine cat, she is growing more paranoid about enemies and illnesses and becoming convinced that StarClan has abandoned her Clan. Tigerclaw urges Bluestar to kill Brokentail but also strike against WindClan or ShadowClan preemptively— both Clans are still recovering from Brokenstar, and it would be much easier to take them on separately than if they band together. Fireheart agrees with him, saying that ThunderClan cannot afford to look weak. But, Bluestar cannot make a decision, so she does nothing.
WindClan and ShadowClan attack ThunderClan’s camp, and ThunderClan is saved by the appearance of a RiverClan patrol who had conveniently come at the same time to retrieve the kits. But, the fight is a humiliation for ThunderClan— being attacked by two Clans in their own camp and requiring RiverClan’s assistance to drive WindClan and ShadowClan out. During the battle, Brokentail retreated to the empty medicine cat’s den to hide. Once the fighting is done, Fireheart goes inside to get him, only to see Tigerclaw standing over Brokentail’s wheezing body, blood all over his muzzle. Brokentail dies in front of him, and when the shock finally dies down, Fireheart asks Tigerclaw why he did it— Bluestar had not ordered them to execute him. Tigerclaw argues that Brokentail had only brought ThunderClan problems, which Bluestar had been too indecisive to solve, so he took matters into his own paws. No one will know it was him anyway— Brokentail could have easily died in the fighting. Fireheart is a bit troubled by Tigerclaw’s disregard of Bluestar’s orders and his duplicitous means, especially given his newfound doubts about Oakheart’s death, but Fireheart agrees with Tigerclaw’s assessment of Brokentail. He easily agrees to keep quiet about it.
Graystripe decides to give RiverClan his kits and leave with them. Fireheart has one more conversation with his former friend before he goes. Graystripe has grown more wary of Tigerclaw recently, especially after seeing his influence on Fireheart. He warns Fireheart that he’s changed from the cat that Graystripe used to know, and to not let Tigerclaw turn him into someone he’s not.
Book 4
Bluestar’s mental health takes a steep decline after the attack. She is now showing signs of dementia in addition to her paranoia. But ThunderClan at least has a fully trained medicine cat again. Thanks to Tigerclaw’s negotiations with Crookedstar about the return of Silverstream’s kits, Mudfur agreed to finish Cinderpaw’s training, and she is now Cinderpelt.
Tigerclaw is more or less running ThunderClan single-handedly at this point, with Bluestar staying mostly in her den. Tigerclaw is also using Fireheart as his righthand man as a sort of pseudo-deputy, sending him on errands and trusting him to organize patrols when he is busy with other things. Fireheart is pleased his brother has so much trust in him, but he is still has questions about what happened that night Oakheart died. He attempts some investigating of Tigerclaw to further tease out the mystery of what really happened in the battle where Oakheart and Redtail died, but without an eye-witness (like Ravenpaw was in canon,) Fireheart isn’t making any headway. This isn’t helped by the fact that he still loves and admires Tigerclaw, so he is not at all sold on the idea that Tigerclaw is actually bad.
But, Tigerclaw is indeed still manipulating Fireheart and using that to ask him to do some seemingly harmless favors. One of these favors is interacting with Brokenstar’s rogues, who Tigerclaw had gathered up just outside of ThunderClan territory. Tigerclaw talks Fireheart into believing that these rogues were misled by Brokenstar, but they can be truly good, loyal warriors, if given a second chance. Fireheart is unsure, but he trusts Tigerclaw enough that he does not argue with him about it.
Then the rogues launch an attack ThunderClan. Their scents and pelts are disguised with mud, but Fireheart has gotten to know them well enough by now that he recognizes some of them anyway when he gets close. Fireheart is shocked that the cats he and Tigerclaw had been helping betrayed them. Worried about Bluestar’s fragile health/mind, Fireheart rushes to her den to see if she’s safe, but it is already too late. Bluestar is dead and Tigerstar stands over her body, blood dripping from his fur. He tells Fireheart that he tried to save her but got here too late and the attackers killed her. The battle ends and the attackers vanish back into the night as quickly as they came, having also killed Runningwind and Brindleface. No one in ThunderClan knows why these cats attacked, or even who they are, but Fireheart knows. And he knows that Tigerclaw knows.
Fireheart is extremely confused and feels betrayed by Tigerclaw, not understanding why he hasn’t said anything to Fireheart about Brokentail’s rogues having been the ones who attacked them. But, seeing the fragile state of ThunderClan, he resolves to wait to speak to Tigerclaw. He remains silent in public about it as Tigerclaw comforts the mourning Clan. Tigerclaw wants to leave to go to the Moonstone right away, but Fireheart insists they speak privately first and Tigerclaw finally relents. Fireheart tells him that he knows those cats were Brokenstar’s rogues; the cats Tigerclaw has been having him bring food and messages to. Tigerclaw does a good job gaslighting the heck out of Fireheart, insisting that he must be mistaken. Fireheart’s confidence is shaken (maybe he did make a mistake? But they looked so familiar.) Still though, Fireheart has other doubts about Tigerclaw. He wants to ask if he was also mistaken about Tigerclaw being alone in the den with Bluestar, with blood on his muzzle, just like how Tigerclaw was alone in the den with Brokentail. But, Fireheart stays silent for now. He doesn’t want to say the words aloud and give such a horrid thought life.
Tigerclaw adds in charm and manipulation to his gaslighting. He “comforts” Fireheart, saying that it’s completely understandable that Fireheart’s stress and grief was getting the better of him and making him think he saw something that’s not there. But, Tigerclaw reassures him that while Bluestar’s death was terrible and tragic, it really perhaps ended up being for the greater good. Bluestar made their Clan weak, but Tigerclaw will make ThunderClan powerful, strong, and safe again, especially “with Fireheart at his side.” Having no solid evidence of Tigerclaw’s wrongdoing beyond knowing that Tigerclaw knew Brokenstar’s rogues somehow, Fireheart remains quiet, but the unshakeable trust he used to have in his brother has been broken.
Tigerclaw prepares to leave for the Moonstone, but not before he names Fireheart his deputy (seemingly to reward his loyalty, but also to keep a close eye on him.)
Book 5
Tigerstar returns to ThunderClan as their new leader, and Fireheart begins his role as deputy, although he feels like he’s constantly keeping an eye on Tigerstar. Fireheart wishes he had someone to confide in about his concerns about him, and he starts to miss Graystripe. Although Fireheart has close friends in ThunderClan like Dustpelt and Longtail, and a blossoming romance with Sandstorm, he knows they are all too loyal to Tigerstar for him to bring up his doubts. Fireheart starts to feel isolated.
Tigerstar, however, is well liked as a leader in ThunderClan. The Clan is shaken after Bluestar’s death and the vicious, mysterious attack, but Tigerstar promises to keep ThunderClan safe. He increases patrols and there is no hint of any dangerous cats in ThunderClan’s territory or nearby, reassuring almost all of ThunderClan.
Fireheart receives more and more intense dreams from StarClan. Throughout the previous books, they have been in contact with him this whole time, telling him that he is destined to right the wrongs of his father. Fireheart had previously thought they meant that they wanted him to be a great warrior of ThunderClan, like how Pine could not. But, in this book, Bluestar finally appears to tell him to his face that no, that’s not what StarClan means— they mean that his destiny is to stop Tigerstar. She tells him that StarClan always knew Tigerstar would harm ThunderClan. Pinestar had the power to end Tigerstar before he began, but he was too weak to do so. So now Fireheart had to fix his father’s mistakes. Fireheart puts 2 and 2 together and realizes that she is telling him that StarClan ordered Pinestar to kill his own kit, and even though Fireheart has his own doubts about Tigerstar, he is horrified by this. He argues that his father did the right thing by not killing an innocent child, but Bluestar says that Tigerstar is NOT innocent. Fireheart gets angry and says that Pine disobeying StarClan and leaving ThunderClan is proof that StarClan cannot control a cat’s destiny, so why couldn’t Tigerkit have grown into a better cat, and why can’t Tigerstar change his ways now? So far he’s been a decent enough leader of ThunderClan. Bluestar becomes furious, but the dream fades before she can say anything else. Fireheart wakes up, still wary of Tigerstar but determined to not follow StarClan’s orders to murder him in cold blood. He has seen good in him, so there may be a way to save him even if StarClan gave up on Tigerstar as soon as he was born.
A fire tears through the forest, and Tigerstar loses a life or two futilely trying to save some of the Clan’s elders. Fireheart sees this as proof of the fact that there is good in Tigerstar, and that he truly cares about ThunderClan. Maybe he really has been acting in the best interest of his Clan this whole time. Maybe Fireheart really had been mistaken about what he thought about the rogues and Bluestar. (Or maybe, even if Tigerstar killed Bluestar, maybe it was necessary for the good of ThunderClan. Maybe she really was too weak and leading ThunderClan down a bad path.)
ThunderClan shelters in RiverClan territory after the fire. Crookedstar is weak/ill and it is clear to Fireheart that Leopardfur will be leader soon. He notices that she and Tigerstar spend a lot of time alone together (an almost uncomfortable amount of time.) Fireheart wonders what Tigerstar is up to, and he also notices how uncomfortable Goldenflower also seems about the situation. Fireheart tries to awkwardly reassure his sister-in-law that he doesn’t think Tigerstar is interested in Leopardfur “like that.”
Fireheart is also happy to see Graystripe again, and the two strike back up a tentative friendship. Graystripe says he’s sorry to hear about Bluestar and asks how things have been now that Tigerstar is leader and Fireheart deputy. Fireheart considers telling Graystripe his doubts on Tigerstar, but because of the fire and his Bluestar dream, he decides against it, instead just saying things are good. Graystripe knows Fireheart well enough to sense him holding back. He doesn’t press, but he says that he’s willing to be there to talk with Fireheart if he ever needs it.
ThunderClan returns back to their camp and starts trying to rebuild. However, Fireheart is stunned when Tigerstar suddenly comes back to camp the next day with Brokentail’s rogues. ThunderClan is immediately on edge about this, but Tigerstar introduces them to ThunderClan as loyal cats who want to find a home in a Clan again. ThunderClan is hesitant about them joining, but Tigerstar tells the Clan that they need help rebuilding after the fire, and the cats have promised to work hard.
Fireheart recognizes one of the rogues as someone that he saw at ThunderClan’s camp the day of the attack. Despite Tigerstar’s masterclass gaslighting, when Fireheart sees this cat, he knows in his bones that he witnessed this cat kill Brindleface. At the first chance he gets, Fireheart gets this cat alone, corners them and tells them that he knows they were there during the attack, threatening to tear them to shreds if they don’t tell him why they attacked the camp. After enough beating up/threatening, the cat spills that Tigerstar had promised the rogues a place in a Clan again if they staged a fight against ThunderClan, but that’s all they know. Fireheart’s head is spinning after this revelation, but he is still desperate to cling to the idea that Tigerstar was still somehow acting in ThunderClan’s best interest. Fireheart asks them that if Tigerstar told them to stage the fight, then why did the cat kill Brindleface, Tigerstar’s Clanmate? The cat shrugs desperately and responds that Tigerstar ordered them to make it “convincing.”
Book 6
Fireheart is shaken to his core after the rogue’s revelation, all the fragile barriers of denial and optimism he’d put up in his mind about Tigerstar crumbling down. He realizes the full implication of everything— Tigerstar probably did kill Redtail like Ravenpaw said, and then Fireheart knows he killed Brokentail, and then he had the rogues attack camp so he could likely kill Bluestar, not caring about his other Clanmate casualties in the process.
But, Fireheart knows that Tigerstar can’t learn what he knows yet; not until Fireheart knows what to do with this information. Fireheart threatens to kill the former rogue if they don’t stay quiet about this conversation, and they promise they will.
A few days pass with the rogues helping and hunting for ThunderClan, and the Clan grudgingly accepts them into ThunderClan. Fireheart meanwhile, has been spending the days ruminating. Should he just reveal Tigerstar’s actions to ThunderClan and put the judgement in the paws of the Clan? Should he talk to someone one-on-one about it first? Should he talk to Tigerstar about it?
Before Fireheart decides anything, a Gathering happens, and ShadowClan doesn’t show up. Their elderly leader, Nightstar has seemed weak lately, but an entire Clan being absent is odd. The day after the Gathering, Tigerstar announces that he is taking a patrol to ShadowClan because he is “concerned” about their neighbors. Fireheart is brought along on the patrol with a group of Tigerstar’s most loyal followers, including the former rogues.
The former Brokentail rogues guide them to ShadowClan’s camp and they find the Clan in shambles from illness, which they are just now finally recovering from. ShadowClan is far too weak to do anything to the ThunderClan cats, but they are not pleased that they are there at all. The ThunderClan cats realize that Nightstar has died, and so Tigerstar imposes himself/ThunderClan under the guise of “helping” leaderless ShadowClan. He orders the ThunderClan cats to hunt for ShadowClan before they leave. Tigerstar also orders the stronger ShadowClan warriors to leave for ThunderClan camp with him so they don’t also get sick from their other Clanmates. ShadowClan protests that they can’t leave their sick Clanmates behind, but they are convinced by Tigerstar and the former rogues (their old Clanmates) that Tigerstar has their best interests in mind. (And besides, they are too weak to fight back.) Tigerstar leaves some of the old rogues in ShadowClan to keep the sick ShadowClan cat’s “safe” (guard them) and to hunt for them, and ThunderClan leaves.
On the trek back to camp, Fireheart talks to Tigerstar and protests this course of action, saying that ThunderClan needs to worry about itself and healing from the fire, and not with ShadowClan. Besides, taking even the healthy ShadowClan warriors back to camp may risk exposing ThunderClan to illness. Tigerstar shuts Fireheart down by snapping at him to stop questioning him, and he knows what’s best for ThunderClan.
ThunderClan has mixed reactions to the new ShadowClan cats in camp. Even Sandstorm is questioning things despite her loyalty to Tigerstar. Fireheart knows now he must talk to someone about his worries with Tigerstar, but he still fears Sandstorm is too close to their leader. He seeks out Graystripe on the border, and confides everything (what’s going on currently with ShadowClan and what Tigerstar has done in the past) to him. Graystripe believes him since he’s been wary of Tigerstar for a while (he was Ravenpaw’s friend too, and wonders to Fireheart if Tigerstar could have “silenced” him.) Graystripe is very worried for his old Clan, but he tells Fireheart he can’t do anything to help. Crookedstar died and Leopardstar is now leader. Leopardstar doesn’t like Graystripe so he has to keep his toes in line if he wants to stay in RiverClan. Graystripe urges Fireheart to tell ThunderClan the truth, but Fireheart despairs that in comparison to Tigerstar, he is still a “kittypet” and the Clan will always believe Tigerstar over him. He has no witnesses for anything besides the rogues who attacked the camp, and they are likely more scared of Tigerstar than him, so they’d stay quiet. Graystripe tells him to have more faith in himself and his Clanmates.
Tigerstar begins to integrate ShadowClan into ThunderClan more, until there is no more ShadowClan. Tigerstar declares their joint Clan by a new name, TigerClan, promising a glorious new era for the forest.
Many cats are troubled by this but are too scared or too influenced by their peers to speak up. Fireheart is becoming more and more troubled as Tigerstar starts to show more tyrannical traits. It doesn’t help that Fireheart’s sleep is constantly disrupted. His dreams are haunted by annoying StarClan almost every night, sending frantic messages and pleas for him to stop Tigerstar. Despite his connection with Tigerstar, Fireheart is on board with stopping him now, but he doesn’t know how to go about it.
Fireheart tries one final appeal to his brother, hoping the cat he used to believe in was still in there somewhere. He talks to Tigerstar privately, laying his cards on the table. He tells him that he knows that Tigerstar always has ThunderClan’s best interests at heart, but ThunderClan is meant to have its own identity— they are meant to be separate Clans. It is wrong to join with ShadowClan. Fireheart begs him that it’s not too late, Tigerstar can still change course and be the amazing leader for ThunderClan Fireheart knows he can be. In response, Tigerstar’s paw flashes out, hitting Fireheart across the face so hard, he’s knocked to the ground, seeing stars. As Fireheart lies there in a daze, Tigerstar snarls that he is a great leader, and if Fireheart ever questions him like this again, Fireheart would no longer be deputy, and he’d be lucky to still even be a TigerClan cat.
Fireheart knows now it is past the point of no return. Tigerstar announces a new alliance with Leopardstar, having RiverClan join the TigerClan fold. Tigerstar seems to have realized he may have pushed Fireheart too hard, though, since he changes tactics. He is back to acting reasonable, trying to spin the action as something good for Fireheart since it will reunite him and Graystripe, and it will prevent more fighting and bloodshed between the Clans if they are united. Fireheart agrees with him, knowing he has no choice but to do so. On the inside, though, the gears have started turning. Fireheart fears he may be running out of time to reveal Tigerstar’s crimes to everyone. He is so powerful now that he is at the helm of three Clans. How could Fireheart ever hope to stop that?
After spending some time carefully judging Sandstorm’s attitude on the whole thing, Fireheart finally confides in her everything that he knows about Tigerstar. To his immense relief, Sandstorm has enough doubts in Tigerstar and enough love for Fireheart by now that she believes him and is horrified. She wants to announce everything to everyone immediately, but Fireheart tells her that they need to be careful since Tigerstar is so powerful with so many allies (Leopardstar and the former rogues mostly.) Sandstorm points out that Fireheart used to be Tigerstar’s most staunch ally, so, like him, cats may change their mind if they trust them enough to tell them the truth.
Fireheart finally agrees with Sandstorm, but he thinks they still need to gather more supporters before they say anything, just in case. The pair (plus Graystripe in the old RiverClan camp) start looking around for more disaffected cats. They are easy to find in ShadowClan, Russetfur emerging as the natural leader of the group, and Graystripe has some luck with a few in RiverClan as well. However, Fireheart and Sandstorm are having a lot of trouble trying to navigate their Clanmates who are naturally the most loyal to Tigerstar.
Meanwhile, Tigerstar continues to escalate. He announces his plan to unite all the Clans in TigerClan, and starts threatening WindClan to join them or else. Regular battles against WindClan begin, but Tallstar learned from Brokenstar and WindClan turns to guerrilla warfare to survive. WindClan moves completely underground in the tunnels, where no other Clan can follow or find them. They only come out when it’s safe to hunt or to launch winnable attacks against smaller TigerClan patrols before retreating back into the tunnels.
Tigerstar grows increasingly frustrated and angry at WindClan’s holdout. WindClan’s ability to navigate through the tunnels and appear seemingly everywhere throughout the forest is also making him paranoid. This just gets worse when Tigerstar catches wind of the stirring rebels. He starts capturing and killing “traitors” (although his focus is suspiciously focused on half-Clan cats.) This includes RiverClan’s former deputy Stonefur (who was really in the forming rebel group) but also cats Tigerstar just does not like, or Tigerstar finds rude/spoke out of turn. Not long after the executions begin, Tigerstar also orders Mistyfoot, Graystripe, his kits, and Russetfur to be imprisoned for treason. It is obvious that they will all be executed.
Fireheart finally decides he cannot wait any longer. He sends Sandstorm to take a desperate message to WindClan to ask for their support, and tells the rest of the rebels to ready themselves. As Tigerstar assembles all of TigerClan to hold the trials/executions of the prisoners, Fireheart jumps forward to interrupt Tigerstar’s rant about the traitors. In a heartbroken speech, Fireheart announces all of Tigerstar’s crimes, accusing Tigerstar as the real traitor and tyrant. Fireheart says that he used to admire Tigerstar so much, but he has spent seasons lying to him, and ThunderClan, and everyone. Tigerstar has betrayed the very nature of the Clans by attempting to conquer them all and killing his Clanmates, and must be stopped. Once Tigerstar recovers from the shock of Fireheart suddenly standing against him, he snarls for someone to seize his brother. But as Tigerstar’s loyalists head towards Fireheart, the rebels leap from the crowd to protect him, yowling for the rest of the cats to join them in overthrowing Tigerstar.
Absolute chaos breaks out, with some cats joining fighting on the side of rebels, others staying loyal to Tigerstar, while others simply flee, not wanting to be in the fight at all. It is brutal, with Clanmate against Clanmate fighting at times, and neither side making much progress until slowly it seems the Tigerstar loyalists are gaining the upper hand. But, the tide is turned as Sandstorm arrives with WindClan in tow for back-up.
A bloodied and injured Tigerstar finds Fireheart in all the fighting, determined to kill him for causing all this. But, Fireheart doesn’t attack, instead telling him to end it and order his loyalists to stop. The fighting is only hurting everyone, with Clanmate against Clanmate, and TigerClan is now outnumbered and has clearly lost. Tigerstar furiously snarls that he hasn’t lost until they’re all dead, and he’s lost every nine of his lives. Tigerstar launches himself at Fireheart, and they fight. Fireheart is unable to overpower his brother alone (for emotional reasons but also just because Tigerstar is a beast even when injured) but Sandstorm and Russetfur come to his aid and together they kill Tigerstar. The fighting ends with his death and the capture of Leopardstar, who remained loyal to him.
Once the dust settles a grateful ShadowClan goes home, making Russetstar their new leader. Leopardstar is exiled, and Mistystar takes her place as leader of RiverClan. ThunderClan tries to piece themself back together after Tigerstar’s death, and despite it all, Fireheart still grieves for his brother. Fireheart goes to the Moonstone, where StarClan thanks him for righting the wrongs of his father and saving the Clans. Fireheart retorts that he didn’t do it because of StarClan’s prophecy, but he did it because protecting his Clanmates was the right thing to do. But, Fireheart still believes that cats should be free to make their own destiny regardless of what StarClan says. Despite Fireheart’s back talk, StarClan still grants him his nine lives and it concludes with Firestar becoming leader of ThunderClan.
And that’s the end! I’m curious to hear any thoughts on this, so leave a comment if you’d like. And, by the way, I don’t think I’ll ever write any fanfic for this AU myself, but if this inspires you to want to create something, go for it! Just please credit me in someway if you stick really closely to my outline, and let me know about it regardless because I’d love to see it :)

Bone, the fearsome street cat.
In canon, Bone and his street cat friends find Tiny after hearing rumors that he fought a dog. They get his help to deal with the dog problem, and Bone swears loyalty to Scourge, as he was called. He was the right-hand-man of Scourge in BloodClan, and ultimately was killed by apprentices in the great battle between BloodClan and LionClan.
In the Boon AU, Tiny never came to the city, and Bone ended up just moving territories with his friends to avoid the dog. By default of being one of the bigger and scarier cats in the city, he ended up forming a small gang that would roam the city for resources (said gang consisting of Brick, Hoot, Jumper, and Snag (AU Jaggedtooth.)
When Boon started his Clan, Bone felt threatened by another "gang", and challenged Boon to a fight for their territory. They fought one on one in a warehouse, which was struck by lightning and caught fire during their fight (incidentally, this is the same storm and lightning that hit ThunderClan territory, and led to the death of Yellowfang in canon.) Boon could have left Bone to die in the fire, but instead rescued him, gaining severe burn scars himself for his act of heroism.
This act changed Bone and his followers, and they swore loyalty to Boon and to FireClan. Bone was fiercely loyal to Boon, acting as his bodyguard, and fighting at his beck and call. He mellowed out with age as time passed, and even fathered a litter of kits with one of the daylight warriors of FireClan (an OC kittypet named Juno.) While he didn't have much of a relationship with the kits he fathered, he was a loyal FireClan warrior for the rest of his days.

hihihi, sorry for the random ask but i was sorta making a concept for a sorta au-thing with Scourge (mostly just a vers of him that would hypothetically be canon compliant) and i realized i really dont know much about him. SO id like to ask, what do you think are core parts of him -- what makes Scourge, Scourge? feel free to give as detailed or vague an answer as u want ^_^
(yes i could look at a wiki hypothetically but. wheres the fun in that)
no worries!!! <33
this is hard for me to articulate but i hope i can get something out that makes sense uhhhh
he's like... well first of all he's str8 up lame as a person. like hes kind of pathetic lol. he tries so hard to be cool, and sometimes he succeeds against all odds! but most of he time hes...not lol. but thats also a lovable aspect of him imo.
he's a bully who pushes down others to raise himself up, and he likes to take the easy way out. he plays dirty, but he gets angry when ppl play dirty with him back. he's king of "dish it out but cant take it" lol
and also? he's got fuckin problems. like, issues. of course he does, since he grew up on moebius, which seems like just..a real bad environment to grow up in. of course someone who's surrounded by negativity is gonna grow up negatively, yknow? plus with the addition of his neglectful father (who he's literally implied to have Killed) that gave him the opportunity to grow up real nasty. at the same time...all this just tells me he's Hurting. like man.. when everyone around u wants to stab you in the back, wouldnt you long for someone u could trust? when there's another you from a parallel dimension that gets all the love and attention you dont have, wouldnt you long for that as well?
he's put up this air of "i'm a badass who doesn't need friends and nothing can bring me down", but we see multiple times that those walls can be broken down and the actual weakness he has shines through <3
i feel like i got carried away here sorry AJSLFKFSJLD uhhhh here watch this video instead
youtube
thatll do it

Guys I'm having such a bizarre moment. I didn't expect to win like this, or to have my personal headcanons be confirmed so directly, but I also feel simultaneously robbed because Akutami is reaching into my head /jk
We received so little about Sukuna, but those brief brief brieeef moments of existentialism really caught me and I've thought about him for so long because of it. He was a fantastically terrifying villain, but there was always that dissonance there, between some of his words and actions, that portrayed that aimless longing and hurt and what that meant as a characterization point, and I'm honestly so hyped we turn around and get this in 271:
Tumblr media
(scanlation for this panel because I think it gets the sentiment across better)

I'm—
Y'all I started my draft for my Sukuna Reincarnation AU months ago and I never expected canon to validate me. They leave it easier and more open-ended, of course, but I'm coming on the record to say I wasn't crazy for my stretch of a character exploration and also I called it.
I won't go into the specifics of my "study Sukuna like a cockroach" notes now I just wanted to come grab the mic and announce that I beat Akutami to it >:D /lh
I'm being a good noodle and not stretching myself thin by starting a new multichap now, but I've had With the Storm in the works since January, and in light of the end of JJK and this lovely little tidbit, I'm tossing a sneak-peak from Chapter 7 because why not:
But maybe it could be. Maybe, just maybe, Uraume could accept this proffered hand and continue to hope.
---
Yet… things were different now. Things changed. Uraume changed, Sukuna changed, and even though they were still themselves, there was a myriad of shifts that piled on their shoulders until something gave way. Maybe a subconscious part of Uraume had braced for that to be a crash, but instead, Sukuna had been nothing but accepting and open. It only made them more nervous about losing him, just as they feared losing Pops. Uraume was not used to wanting, or hoping, but there was a powerful need in their chest that childishly demanded that they should get to keep both their kinder father and this happier Sukuna close, even if that may not be possible.
They nodded, not trusting their words at the moment, and Sukuna relaxed slightly.
“Good. Though that reminds me… You never really answered my first question. What do you want to do? With this life, I mean.”
There was that want again. Uraume felt the pull at their lungs until it was unbearable. They knew what he was asking; the question didn’t hinge on his involvement anymore, just them. Sukuna said he wanted to live peacefully, so what, then, was Uraume’s answer?
As much as they felt like a coward saying this, maybe that was okay. Sukuna felt the same way, after all. “I like this life too…” Uraume answered, and it was very different saying those words aloud. “Pops isn’t a shaman at all, and he’s good company and a good father. If I wasn’t able to find you, or you were not of this world, then… I would stay as his family.”
“That’s good,” Sukuna agreed, lifting yet another anxious weight from their chest. “I get that. Nobody else in my family are shamans either—at least, not really—and they’re all good people. It’s a good life, and even though I would have never expected it… I don’t want to lose it.”
It was amazing how similar they were, then and now. Uraume…really shouldn’t have worried about a lack of understanding. Sukuna didn’t have to say it, but it was clear that their thoughts had wandered down a similar road yet again. Their families, full of normal people living normal lives, were an unexpected treasure; to willingly become a monster, to become a scourge upon the world for whatever reason, would forfeit that. More than that, having people to care about made the desire to spread destruction lessen, rather significantly. Maybe that hurt and rage and bitterness was still there, in between their ribs, but in the ones that were dead and buried—a part of them, but also not quite there anymore, like when a scar ceases to constantly itch and ache and becomes only a mark on functioning skin.
They didn’t have to be monsters anymore. There were calmer, kinder things available to want—available to receive, even.
“This is so weird,” Uraume blurted, staring at their small hands and thinking of the strange miracle their lives turned into.
Sukuna barked a quick laugh before it was muffled into something like a snicker. “I know, right?” He leaned back in a stretch, his face catching the sun and lighting him in something that wasn’t a fire, but equally bright. “It’s not bad though.”
It was weird, to be a child, to be without some far-off goal, to be loved and happy, in the sense that it was absurd and foreign and absolutely unexpected. It was a breath of fresh air after years and years of having frozen lungs. Weird, surprising, but unmistakably good after so long of believing that no such term, deceptively simple, could have ever been applicable.
“Not bad at all,” Uraume agreed, a bright and blooming thing in their chest as their life began to slot into a new place. Still open-ended and perhaps a little terrifying for it, but Pops accepted them, and Sukuna accepted them, so maybe they could truly accept themself now, and whatever that will look like.

Anthro!AU. There's no real timeline for this.
Names follow 3 formats. Let's grab... Dovewing!
Dovewing is also called Dove, Miss Wing, and Dove Wing.
Turtle Tail is also called Turtletail, Miss Tail (or Miss T) and Turtle.
Cats like Millie or Snake will sometimes take last names, but highly prefer their single name.
Bramblekit absolutely took a cookie when offered while he was at Frostfur's house, thinking they were chocolate chip, only to get oatmeal raisin. He hated it but was too polite to spit it out.
Snowbird cut Ratscar off from seeing his nespring when she found out about his connections to a cult called The Place of No Stars.
Blossompaw and Briarpaw regularly swam in a river nearby their house, with Bumblepaw on watch for anyone coming who might get them in trouble.
Briarlight also put flame stickers/decals on her wheelchair. She sometimes rotates them out for seasonal stuff, like holiday themed ones. She put a weed sticker on it once for 4/20 and Millie threw a fit over it.
During the nasty custody battle between Goldenflower and Tigerclaw, Swiftpaw told Tigerclaw he never wanted to see him again, he would rather be dead than have his father hold any custody of him.
Smudge regularly visits and babysits Squirrelkit and Leafkit, he wishes Firestar would move back to Kittypet Town, but understands that his best friend is happier in Clan City.
Leafpool was in a very bad situation when she was pregnant with her triplets, as Crowfeather left her with nothing when they broke up. She pretended that she was going to be a surrogate, as Brambleclaw and Squirrelflight were having trouble conceiving. That was the lie.
Squirrelflight works as a professional chef. Ferncloud works as a stay-at-home mom but makes plush for her friends and their kids, as sewing is her passion. Thornclaw is a PE teacher. Ashfur is a drama teacher. Brambleberry is a chemistry teacher. Leafpool is a doctor. Cinderheart is a receptionist at the hospital Leafpool works at.
Hollyleaf and Cinderheart were "borderline dating" for MONTHS before Jayfeather snapped and screamed at one of them "just spit it out already!"
Jayfeather is a programmer, and works at making more video games and controllers accessible to blind folks like him! He works with Snowtail (Snowkit) who also works helps out gamers who are HoH.
Scourge is a lawyer, who helps Firestar find the evidence that Tigerstar murdered Redtail during an election.
Turtle Tail is preschool teacher, and works with Sorreltail and Snowbird. They work together at Kit School in Sanctuary Lake Elementary School/Preschool.
Clan City has 5 main districts, for the 5 Clans. Everyone is generally very proud of their home and where their family came from, and xenophobia seems to be on the rise... Many come over, but just as many are driven out by the harsh attitudes of the locals.
In another time, there are more districts. Jingo District, Blood District, and Warrior District. There is also Mountain City, and Gorge City where people in the Sky District lived for many years following a massive disaster that forced everyone to evacuate, they lived with the locals there for years, giving a mjor economy boost to a dying city, and caused quite the controversy when they left.
Guardian Village is nearby as well, traditional people who live amongst ruins, as well as many dotted Sister Settlements, where a semi-nomadic traveling group sets up camps. There is The River Kingdom, a valley where a group of secretive cats live in peace, also called The Park by outsiders.
In another time, the 5 founders of Clan City, Skystar, Thunderstar, Windstar, Shadowstar and Riverstar, settled there together after disaster swept the area. Shadowstar came from Mountain Village, plauge causing some cats to leave for hope of a better life, Windstar came from a village on the Moor that was destroyed by wildfires with her fiance Gorse Fur, Skystar came from what would later become Rogue Town, bounced through orphanages with her brother Fox, Thunderstar was born to 2 Mountain Cats, Clear Sky and Bright Storm, soon after arriving in the area, and Riverstar came from the River Kingdom to escape a flood with his young niece Flutter.
