At least tell me you're still gonna vote
It's not 2016 anymore, man. I've changed my whole shit around. I've actually been a leftist for quite some time, and believe me when I say I'm beyond done shilling for the Democratic establishment. Under the guise of "civic engagement", my leftoid commie friends and I have infiltrated the system and are gonna flood the market with potential non-voters.
Here's the deal.
You know how I've been a CASA for almost a decade? Well, my friend tipped me off about the local chapter of Black & Pink/ FJAH—I got involved ostensibly because I'm outraged by the violence and racism woven into the fabric of the justice system ruining the lives of entire generations of families. As I've been volunteering for Ayanna Pressley's election campaigns since her Boston City Council days, I've been lowkey spreading the prison abolitionist agenda by talking up the importance of the Inclusive Democracy Act—which would end felony disenfranchisement—when I tell people about Pressley's progressive policies. Now, that may sound extremely vote-pilled at first, but in the long run it accomplishes the most important leftist objective of all: suffrage gives 4.6 million people the choice not to vote.
I'm also continuing to help immigrant and refugee families navigate the byzantine naturalization/citizenship application process via the same organization that my grandmother volunteered for when she was alive. This may also veer dangerously close to patriotism (the amount of American propaganda I have to push to help them pass the civics exam is excruciating), but bear in mind that many of the freshly minted citizens will forgo voting entirely because they're just happy to be living large on Uncle Sam's handouts, and the rest are rabid Zionists who believe that "эта проститутка" (Hillary Rodham Clinton, age 76, public speaker, grandmother of 3) is an active threat to society, and are chomping at the bit to vote for Trump this and every subsequent November.
This is how we win.

we might be witnessing something
obviously we all know how much i love byler, and what im about to say is going to sound like “gen z walking away from the white house on fire with hayloft by mother mother playing” but i have to speak my truth here- i think byler being canon will go FAR beyond the fandom and casual watchers of stranger things. we might literally be the early adopters of a pop cultural phenomenon that could go down in history as one of the most important moments in media history.
stranger things is a really bizarre phenomenon in the grand scheme of things, because it is SO famous. it’s popularity has been compared to shows like game of thrones, but it goes even beyond that, because EVERYONE watches it. i’ve been watching it since i was eleven. my mom watches it. my uncles watch it. my best friend watches it. my grandma watches it. it’s viewership is so wide because there are so many aspects of it that appeal to so many different people. the impact this show has sent a song released forty years ago to number one on the charts practically overnight and it STILL plays on the top 40 radio to this day.
think about american politics as they are right now- we’re bearing witness to one of (if not THE) most important election in american history. the difference between trump and kamala is the difference between potential dystopia and nuclear fallout and peace and progressiveness. if trump wins, he will pull all of our aid from ukraine, letting russia push forward into western europe, and we all know what happens when a country tries to push into western europe. trump’s agenda in project 2025 imposes potential laws that will take us back hundreds of years in lgbtq+ rights, rights for people of color, and women’s rights. this election has caused a huge amount of dread and fear in the american people especially as the days push on. and what do people historically cling to in moments of fear like this? art.
think about music during the vietnam war, movies like “red dawn” during the cold war, or mccarthyism during world war two. when people are afraid of the real world, they tend to turn to popular media for escapism. we’re already seeing it, as ridiculous as it sounds, in things like brat summer or the debate edits to chappell roan songs. it might not seem like it’s happening because everything about it is different today in the digital age versus sixty years ago when tvs were boxes, but it is. this is only the beginning. and with the release of the next stranger things season, it’s possible that it could only grow more.
picture this: it’s next july. trump has been sworn in as 47th president of the united states and is six months into his second term. there’s already talks of him overturning obergefell v. hodges (the supreme court ruling that gave us gay marriage), there’s now a nationwide abortion ban, and political opponents of his are slowly seeming to disappear and go inactive. but hey! the 2020’s most beloved tv show is airing its last season this week.. it’s an easy way for us all to feel nostalgia about a time (wether that be the 80s or summer 2019) when our country was progressing forward instead of so drastically backwards as it is now, or to just watch a cool sci-fi show with one of the highest viewerships of any show ever, second only to game of thrones. everyone is turning on their tvs at midnight to watch these new episodes and suddenly- the main couple consisting of the two main characters of the show breaks up, the boy leaving the girl for his childhood best friend, whom he has been in love with for years but been forced to ignore because of the way society views gay people?
and everyone is seeing this, even 40+ y/o homophobes who watch the show for the nostalgia factor and never suspected a thing. the public is outraged. fox news is going on about the gay agenda. but the shock of the news is turning heads. people are changing their minds because… people being gay actually hasn’t only been a thing for the last ten years??! gay people might not actually be lesser humans? ANYBODY CAN BE GAY? what is happening! we know everyone watches this, so people of all backgrounds all across the world and more specifically the country are reacting to this in different ways. but no matter how you look at it, everyone is talking about it. it’s all over everyone’s for you page, SNL is parodying it, anderson cooper is talking about it on CNN, trump is denouncing it on twitter, there’s a push for it to be banned in florida.
suddenly, the democrats are picking up on this, because isn’t this everything we’ve been fighting for this whole time put at the forefront of a mainstream show? this is forcing everyone to confront the implications of having a gay ship be the focal point of a show with the viewership of stranger things, and the democratic party and it’s supporters pick up on this, turning it into a symbol and essentially a martyr of the party as a whole. whatever song (and you know there will be a song) that’s used in the scene where byler becomes official is immediately topping the charts. people are walking around wearing t shirts with byler quotes on them like we’re seeing now with the kamala brat t shirts. hundreds of people are influenced by it and we may even see an increase in support for politicians who advocate specifically for gay rights or are gay themselves.
this all happens because when people who are being spotlighted by pop culture speak out, everybody hears it. it’s the same reasoning behind why an endorsement from taylor swift could outright win kamala this election. a huge part of our population has quiet beliefs that they’re just waiting to dive into until somebody in mainstream media tells them that it’s a good idea. in making byler cannon, stranger things could be changing the trajectory of popular culture and american politics as a whole for years to come. it’s all about the domino effect. if people see this, all it does is open a gateway for other stories and conversations to happen, because something so outrageous as making byler canon during the early stages of project 2025 will turn the heads of every politically inclined person in america, from every maga cap wearing trucker to every blue haired barista, and when heads are turned things are changed.

A day before a status hearing was set to go before a federal judge for a religious discrimination lawsuit by The Satanic Temple, the attorney representing the infernal religious organization notified the judge that that would no longer be necessary, voluntarily ending the case for good.
Plaintiffs The Satanic Temple and Adam Vavrick and Defendant City of #Chicago, through their respective counsel, hereby stipulate that pursuant to Fed. R. Civ. P. 41 this case should be dismissed without costs or fees to either party. -Stipulation to Dismiss – Document No. 35
The following day, July 24, Judge Joan Lefkow dismissed the cases with prejudice “with each party to bear its own costs and fees.”
The Satanic Temple Inc. and Adam Vavrick, an ordained minister of the Satanic Temple and a leader of TST's Illinois congregation, sought to deliver an invocation before a Chicago City Council meeting. However, they were not invited after, TST claims, more than three years of asking to deliver an invocation and not being given an explanation for why they were not invited.
TST sued the city in federal court on May 3, 2023, alleging violations of the First Amendment’s Establishment Clause.
We wrote about the background of this whole thing in December 2023 and again in May 2024; in the latter, we also made a bit of a prediction there at the very end in reference to the scheduled trial date:
“Given TST’s usual burn-through rate and the ongoing major schism centered on TST Ministry, it will also be interesting to see if ‘Minister of Satan Adam Vavrick’ is even still associated with TST and ordained by the time 2025 rolls around.”
And wouldn’t you know it, a little more than a month after we said that, the plaintiff Vavrick announced he’d left The Satanic Temple Ministry:

Announcing: The Memory Hunters
It's true! Key and Vale are now The Memory Hunters, and they've been picked up by Erewhon! Publication is planned for late summer of 2025. Here's the Publishers Marketplace announcement.
Tumblr media
And here is the link to the announcement:
My publicist came up with the most amazing tagline for this: "History remembers. Blood never forgets." I can't wait to see that on the cover. THANK YOU SO MUCH MARTY
And without further ado, here is a description of the book.
Kiana Strade can dive deeper into blood memories than anyone alive. But instead of devoting her talents to the temple she’s meant to lead, Key is determined to use her skill as a researcher for the Museum of Human Memory . . . and to avoid the public eye in opulent, cutthroat Asheburg. Valerian’s lightning-fast swords protect Key from murderous rivals and her own enthusiasm alike. Vale cares about Key as a friend—and maybe more—but more than anything, she needs to keep her job so she can support her parents and siblings in the storm-torn south. But when Key collects a memory about the temple’s founding that diverges from official history, only Vale sees the fallout. Key’s mentor suspiciously dismisses the finding. Her powerful mother demands she stop research altogether. And Key, unusually affected by the memory, begins to lose moments, then minutes, then days. As Vale becomes increasingly entangled in Key’s obsessive drive for answers, the two women uncover a shattering discovery—and a devastating betrayal. Key and Vale can remain complicit, or jeopardize everything to bring the truth to light. Either way, Key is becoming consumed by the past in more ways than one, and time is running out.
I'm so excited to introduce Key, Vale, the other denizens of Asheburg, and the practice of memory diving to you all! Here is the one mood board I made for it many years ago. Cover reveal coming at some point in the future . . .

TO ALL THE SHIWANG FANS, I HAVE THE BESTEST BESTEST BESTEST NEWS IN THE ENTIRE WORLD. WE'LL HAVE 12 MORE EPISODES OF SHIWANG THROUGH THE DASHI SPINOFF!!!!!!!!!
Tumblr media
I was literally shaking and internally screaming when I saw the news. I remember back in the summer when the Shi Qiang spinoff was announced, some fans were bummed that there's no mention of Wang Miao, and I always thought it'd be about Shi Qiang's cases from years ago. But last month (Dec 2023), they submitted the show info to the National Radio and Television Administration, and the summary 100% tells a story of Shi Qiang and Wang Miao:
Tumblr media
Based on the info sheet, this show will have 12 episodes, and filming starts in September 2024 (so it'll probably air in 2025 the earliest). And this is the plot summary: After Project Guzheng, Shi Qiang (with leukemia from the radiation) works again with Wang Miao because some nanomaterial gets stolen. After some investigation, they find that it's not simply about the stolen material. An unknown organization is planning something to prevent the humans to work together. When they are close to the truth, Shi Qiang and Wang Miao have a fallout due to their different principles, but because they trust each other tremendously, the issue is resolved. And they get to save the day again.
Tumblr media
I'm curious what made them add Wang Miao to the show? Did Yang Lei get bombed with messages of how much people love Miaomiao and Shiwang? I also wonder if Liu Cixin will have any amount of input to the script, or is it going to be 100% original writing from the scriptwriter. Will Tian Liangliang and her team write the script because she nailed the Shiwang dynamic in Three-Body? Will Miaomiao cry like Dashi feared when he hears about the illness, or will Dashi try to hide it from Miaomiao for as long as possible? Anyways, I'm just so so so so so excited for this. What a good start of 2024!!!
PS. @bahoreal didn't you write a fic about something gotten stolen from Miaomiao's lab!!!

Robert Moonbrow, Cleric of Pelor | Sole Survivor & Dogmeat
Photography by David Ngo at C2E2 2024
- - - - - - - - - -
Hello, Tumblr!
It's...certainly been quite a while, hasn't it? OOF. I really apologize for the unintended hiatus.
I was at C2E2 in Chicago a couple of weeks ago with some updated costumes, and figured I'd share!
Friday and Sunday I wore my Sole Survivor costume from Fallout 4, with plenty of extra weathering and proper strapping since I slapped it together prior to Halloween last year. I made the Dogmeat Heavy Dog Armor for my actual German Shepherd(Caboose), but since he's not a service animal(please don't bring your pets to conventions), I wound up purchasing a close-to-life-sized plush version that the costume *mostly* fit on. The number of people who did double-takes and "thought it was a real dog" was staggering, so I guess I did something right. Also, Sunday of C2E2 is always touted as family day, so the number of kids that came up asking to pet my dog was adorable.
On Saturday, I wore my D&D costume: a half-elven cleric of Pelor of my own design. I adore Dungeons & Dragons, and as an homage to nearly playing with the same group(multiple campaigns) since 2002, I made my first character Robert Moonbrow. I debuted this back in 2022, which revealed some issues with my design, so those fixes were made(mostly reinforcing the straps to prevent stretching and to reinforce the area around the rivets since all of the armor is EVA foam) as well as a heater shield I never got around to finishing, which turned out great, with the exception of being able to see the wrist straps through the foam on the front. On a whim, I decided to enter the Crown Championships of Cosplay this year, ReedPop's costume contest. I had zero expectations of anything, since people have no attachment to original characters other than the person making it, but I worked insanely hard on this thing, dumping probably close to 1,000 hours into the costume overall, and pushed the boundaries of my skillset to make something I was truly proud of out of a love for the fun my friends and I had with our time together. I didn't win anything, but it was genuinely great just to be in the same competition as the others who entered with their insane craftsmanship and attention to detail, and I do mean that, sincerely. We had a great time talking shop backstage during the competition and admiring one another's costumes.
Will I ever compete again? Probably not. It kind of eats up the entire day, and it takes me forever to make a costume in general, much less one to compete with. If I ever did, I might consider revamping my Grey Warden Alistair costume or something, but it's an extremely low priority. At the end of the day, cosplay is just a fun hobby for me, and adding extra stress with competition prep and anxiety kinda sucks some of the fun out of it, even though it was a fun and new(at least at this level) experience this time.
This is the only convention I'll be attending this year, much as I absolutely miss all of my friends at Dragon Con and would love to attend. I haven't been there since...2018? Oof. My friend Darryn said he'll be there in 2025, so I made the promise to him that I'll be there, which means I'll be bringing Alistair, since we became friends by cosplaying the character. I would also love to bring my D&D costume, but it's not exactly a cool and comfortable costume, so I'm going to try to test out its comfortability in the heat by wearing it to the Bristol Renaissance Faire on the Wisconsin/Illinois border at the end of July this summer(Saturday, July 27th is the plan). If you're in the area and want to see it in person or say goodbye to me as I potentially die of heatstroke(kidding!(hopefully...)), feel free! Fingers crossed the weather holds out that day for a solid test.
Anyway, time for me to shut up! Enjoy some additional shots from C2E2 2024:

This is such a wild season.
Omni-Man Vs. Bardock was a matchup people thought was gonna be balanced...at least more then Omni-Man Vs. Homelander, turns out it wasn't the case and its been one of the most controversal results so far.
Joker Vs. Giorno was a matchup everyone thought would result in all out war between the Persona and JJBA fandoms but yet when the results came out, both sides were more civil and chill then everyone expected. (Probably also helps that Persona 5 and Golden Wind have been out for ages now so a lot of the hype around them has died down.)
Bowser Vs. Eggman is the best argument that going indie doesn't mean a decrease in quality as its easily one of the best fights ever. Amazing all around and it manages to get better and better.
And now we have the most wtf matchup as we have Fall Guys vs. the Imposters. The game which had a flashpoint in during 2020 but then was ursuped by the other who stormed ahead.
No I don't know what's gonna happen next.
//Firstly, I actually didn’t mind Omni-Man Vs Bardock because I never had a problem with the scaling. Like, there WERE feats in there that didn’t make a lot of sense, sure, but I still thought the result was accurate. It is still my least favourite episode of 2024 though.
//Joker Vs Giorno’s fallout worried me not necessarily just because the Persona and JoJo fandoms are intense, but mostly because the fallout for the debut episode was pretty bad. For me personally, it was kind of like Gojo Vs Makima to me where the build up was so intense, and the episode itself ended up just being alright. I mean, it is I think within my top 15, but I had such high expectations for this matchup, and in the end, it was satisfactory.
//For Bowser Vs Eggman, I think I said this already, but I think MORO is either an alien or a god, because everything about the animation, as well as the rest of the episode, was spectacular. I think I can confidently say at this point, after rewatching it over the course of the last few days about 50 times, that it’s my favourite DB of all time. And no, that’s not because of recency bias, it’s because it’s just an absolute cinematic masterpiece.
//As for Fallmong Us…Among Guys? Regardless, while I’m not AGAINST this being a thing, because it’s really funny, AND I’m fond of both these games, truly, but my biggest problem is this isn’t a fight. It’s not ANYTHING. You get a packet of M&Ms and you took a packet of jellybeans you put them in the oven and you shake it, and that’s what this fight is. HOW in the HELL are these fucking loose brain cells supposed to kill each other?
//My legitimate prediction for this matchup is that it’ll be a stalemate, because the Fall Guys can’t kill, but they also can’t die.
//Genuinely though, the only prediction I’m going to make going forward is that Mahito Vs Shigaraki will be the 2025 debut. As for Among Guys fight, the hell if I know, lol.

USA Solar Return 2024: Happy Birthday America?
The USA solar return 2024 is the birthday chart for America. What is store for the USA during 2024-2025? Read on...
A couple of weeks ago, I thought about posting on the USA solar return 2024. And then I decided against it- largely because I’ve already posted on solar returns for Joe Biden and Donald Trump and I’ve posted on the fallout from the debate that put Joe Biden’s presidential candidacy in question. Then, the other day, I woke up to news of an assassination attempt on Donald Trump at a rally in…

^^^ From the new Florida public school history textbook.
DeSantis's efforts to persecute minorities for political gain continues to have a negative impact on Florida's convention business.
DeSantis’ ‘anti-woke’ bills are costing Florida millions of dollars in business
A slew of new bills signed into law by Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has draped the Sunshine State in controversy, spurring protests, lawsuits and travel advisories warning the state is “openly hostile” toward people of color, immigrants, women and LGBTQ+ community members. The fallout is starting to spread to a key economic artery for an income-tax-free state heavily reliant upon tourism taxes: Florida’s convention business. In recent weeks, at least a dozen organizations have announced plans to either cancel or relocate their upcoming conferences scheduled to take place in Florida, making a statement by having their thousands of attendees and millions of dollars flow into other states deemed safer and more welcoming.
Conventions are often planned out years in advance. So the reaction to the DeSantis homophobic, racist, and anti-women policies could ripple years into the future.
“Unlike leisure business, which is a very short-term booking window [in weeks or months], conference business is long term,” said Stacy Ritter, president and chief executive officer of the Visit Lauderdale tourism marketing agency in Broward County, Florida. “We’re booking ’26 to ‘30 now, so any impact that this might have is not going to be seen for years to come.” As of July 26, Ritter said that Visit Lauderdale has tallied 10 events and conventions that were canceled by organizations citing recently enacted laws, policies and travel advisories. That amounts to 15,000 lost hotelroom nights and an estimated $20 million economic impact, she said. Ritter, a longtime Democratic politician in the state, said she first started to see some businesses pull back following the 2022 legislative session and the first iteration of the ruling known as the “Don’t Say Gay” law. At the time, she also received emails from leisure travelers suggesting they wouldn’t come back to Florida because they perceived it was hostile to the LGBTQ+ community. “That trickle from last year became a little stronger,” she said. “I don’t have a crystal ball, I wish I did, but I don’t know what happens in the future if this becomes a thing, or if this is a blip. Nobody knows.” [ ... ] Annual conferences are planned well in advance to ensure that it’s a smooth process to bring thousands of people together for a few days, and last-minute shifts are sometimes next to impossible for organizations. “Broward County has invested $1.5 billion in building an 801-room Omni hotel connected to our expanding and renovated convention center, [but]we are not seeing the bookings for ’26, ‘27, ‘28, ‘29 and ‘30, which we would have anticipated — considering that we will have this shiny new toy in the neighborhood in late-2025,” she said.
People who don't feel safe in Florida just won't want to go there.
For the Association of Collegiate Schools of Planning, a “principles-based decision” was made to move its fall 2023 conference from Florida to another host city. “While no place can be 100% safe, Miami and Florida in Fall 2023 did not feel like the best place to gather for our annual conference,” Laxmi Ramasubramanian, president of the ACSP, wrote to members on June 28 in a letter that was also provided to CNN. “We worried about attrition in conference attendance because some of our attendees were likely to feel uncomfortable, unwelcome, or fear for their own safety while navigating Miami outside of the conference venues.” Safety was a paramount concern for board member Petra Doan, a longtime and recently retired Florida State University professor who transitioned 25 years ago while on faculty. Doan, who moved to Maine last year after 33 years in Florida, said she considers herself a political refugee. “I often feel like if I will go back to Florida, I’ll have a target painted on me because I am openly trans,” Doan said.

Fallout Companions in Hero Forge Day 5
Here's everyone's favorite synth detective, Nick Valentine!
Tumblr media
Since the Sole Survivor has helped Nick with detective work, he's had some downtime. Can you imagine Nicky Val as a gardener?
Tumblr media
If Fallout 4 gets an anniversary edition in 2025 like Skyrim did in 2021, they better add the option to romance Nick Valentine. Just look how good our man looks. Just don't expect him to remove the hat.

Hello. I remember reading about DR2 filming to be on summer holidays and for them to start again in the fall (if there is no strike, of course). In your opinion, what is the latest date to resume filming of DR2 for it to be eligible for 2024 release. For example, if they resume in Oct. or Nov. does that push the release of the film to 2025?
Hard to say. I guess it depends on how many vital scenes/stunts they have yet to film on location. Potentially even if they resume filming December/January they can make it for summer 2024. Chris managed to finish RN when their relesed date was pushed up, and I think they finished all the work on Fallout just 5 days before the global premiere. So he works well underpressure and I think he can meet any deadline but the issue is IF they manage to film all the vital set pieces on site.

Now my brain is going even more crazy thinking about Joon and it was already pretty bad earlier ‘cause I just miss seeing him. But now I’m upset ‘cause of all this and the letter from a few days ago and also recent interviews putting so much pressure on him. Plus FESTA just gnawing at the back of my head still because fuck I hate that video so much and I hate the fallout from it and how I couldn’t stop thinking about how he cried and how he’s feeling and how even the few people who might understand him the most are probably not doing much better than he is and might not even be the greatest source of support right now...
Uuuuuuhg, and I hate how some people think this is just about the success of the album like please it’s not JUST about Indigo’s numbers he wouldn’t be posting all its records if he wasn’t proud of what it’s accomplishing it’s all so much bigger than that. I think people don’t realize just how much of his issues are literally tied to the group, not the members, but BTS and what it is. I think people tend to forget he’s heavily invested in its success because he’s sunk just about everything about his life the last 10 years into it, and that’s got to be unbearably stressful when he’s currently incredibly lost on what’s even going to happen to the group, what BTS’ future is, because WE don’t even know WHAT it is. Like they have plans for 2025, but nothing is set in stone.
Plus it’s very clear each person now has different desires and expectations. Like I was gonna make a whole post about Hoseok and being solo and his absolute ITCH to get out and go and what that could mean long-term but decided against it ‘cause it’s one of those taboos that I didn’t potentially wanna get any backlash for. I mean they all love each other as friends and now a family, but do they all still love the system? The structure of BTS? Are they all satisfied artistically? Couple that with things Jin said in his interviews and vlives before leaving and it all just seems like things are not as solid as people might think they are...
Who knows. I’ll stop rambling about it for now.

Being recommended this post in June 2024 is really weird as it turns out 2022 really wasn’t the find out year.
Warner Bros has realised the issues with the bitch and is trying to buy HP off of her so they can have their flagship series back with less complications with evidence of what the franchise without how looks like with Hogwarts Legacy as their main example and the reboot series on the horizon. (Funnily they are refusing to pay her a George Lucas Disney buyout sum of money like she wants but much less)
NFTs are dead but AI immediately became a thing so Meta has switched tack immediately and is doing quite well
Trump is now a felon but it’s still looking likely that he will become president
Alex Jones still grifting despite the prospect of his social media accounts being seized from him
The Tories survived two years before calling an election but do seemed to be screwed but the British far right party, Reform UK, is set to do very well despite a number of candidates linked to British neo nazi and fascist movements with some straight up saying hitler was right
Today Putin has signed an agreement with North Korea to create a defence pact
The GOP has somehow managed to get their shit together and is ready to implement project 2025 on day one of a new trump administration which would change America to a dictatorship
Prime video is having one of its best eras in recent memory with critical success like Fallout with the second season of Rings of Power airing soon
Fantastic Beasts is suspended indefinitely.
Musk is begging for cash because he made the stupidest purchase in internet history.
Zucky Wucky is hemorrhaging cash because the Metaverse goal of becoming the NFT successor of real estate speculation was met with the deserved mockery at how stupid it was.
Trump is finally being properly prosecuted for crimes he unquestionably and very inconspicuously committed.
Alex Jones owes a billion dollars to Sandy Hook victims.
The Tories are imploding in a schism that might actually result in the collapse of the British empire.
Putin has ran out of army and crawled pathetically to the corner a tiny insurgent army pushed him towards, decades of military propaganda burnt away in months.
Prime Minister Shinzō Abe died with no glory.
The GOP is so confused after the Trump era they don't even know how to run their grifts anymore.
Rings of Power was such a mediocre release Amazon could potentially drop Prime Video altogether.
Turns out 2022 was really the "find out" year. It took a while but I'm loving this season finale so far.

President-elect Donald J. Trump on Tuesday tapped Linda McMahon, a former professional wrestling executive who ran the Small Business Administration for much of his first term, to lead the Education Department, an agency he has routinely singled out for elimination in his upcoming term.
A close friend of Mr. Trump’s and a longtime booster of his political career, Ms. McMahon had been among his early donors leading up to his electoral victory in 2016 and has been one of the leaders of his transition team, vetting other potential appointees and drafting potential executive orders since August.
Ms. McMahon, 76, led the Small Business Administration during Mr. Trump’s first term and resigned in 2019 without a public fallout or rift with Mr. Trump, who praised her at her departure as “one of our all-time favorites” and a “superstar.” She stepped down from that role to help with Mr. Trump’s re-election campaign and became the chairwoman of the pro-Trump super PAC America First Action.
More recently, Ms. McMahon also played an influential role in laying the groundwork for a second Trump presidency as the chairwoman of the America First Policy Institute, a conservative policy group. It has offered training for prospective leaders, outlined staffing plans and drafted policy agendas for every federal agency, rivaling the similar Project 2025 effort led by the conservative Heritage Foundation.
Since last year, Mr. Trump had reportedly complained in private that the America First Policy Institute, which filled out its ranks with former officials from his first term in office, owed him a portion of the money he said it had brought in by fund-raising off its political associations with him.
The group nonetheless maintained close ties to Mr. Trump’s transition team, and Ms. McMahon’s nomination on Tuesday was the latest sign of its relevance.
In part because of her recent policy role and her experience as the small business administrator, Ms. McMahon had been discussed as a possible pick to lead the Commerce Department until the role was officially offered to Howard Lutnick, a Wall Street executive and a chairman of the Trump transition team, earlier in the day.
Ms. McMahon will be in charge of overseeing what is widely expected to be a thorough and determined dismantling of the department’s core functions, as Mr. Trump and many of those in his orbit have questioned the agency’s purpose and disparaged its work as overregulating schools on political and ideological terms.
Other than a brief appointment in 2009 to the Connecticut State Board of Education, where she served for just over a year, Ms. McMahon has no experience in overseeing education policy. She would assume the role at a time when school districts across the country are facing budget shortfalls, many students are not making up ground lost during the pandemic in reading and math, and many colleges and universities are shrinking and closing amid a larger loss of faith in the value of higher education.
While Mr. Trump has repeatedly called for an outright dissolution of the agency, any effort to shutter it would require congressional action and support from some Republican lawmakers whose districts depend on federal aid for public education.
But the America First Policy Institute has set out a more immediate list of changes it says could be achieved through vastly changing the department’s priorities. Those include stopping schools from “promoting inaccurate and unpatriotic concepts” about American history surrounding institutionalized racism, and expanding “school choice” programs that direct more public funds to parents to spend on home-schooling, online classes or at private and religious schools.
On Monday, Vivek Ramaswamy, who is expected to recommend and plan steep cuts to the federal work force as a leader of the proposed government efficiency department, voiced support on social media for a proposal to shut down the department, calling the idea a “very reasonable proposal.”
Ms. McMahon has for decades been a financial supporter of Mr. Trump’s political campaigns and the Trump Foundation, the charitable organization that is now defunct. She gave more than $7 million to two pro-Trump super PACs in 2016, according to data from the watchdog group OpenSecrets. In 2024, she gave $10 million to the Make America Great Again PAC.
In 2009, Ms. McMahon stepped down as chief executive of World Wrestling Entertainment to run as a Republican to represent Connecticut in the U.S. Senate. She spent heavily to fund her own campaign, winning her party’s nomination, but lost to the Democrats Richard Blumenthal in 2010 and Chris Murphy in 2012.
Mr. Trump’s ties to Ms. McMahon and her husband, Vince McMahon, go back decades. He served as a sponsor for the W.W.E. broadcast WrestleMania when it appeared in Atlantic City, N.J., in the late 1980s, and later appeared in his own story lines on WrestleMania that had him throwing punches in the ring and shaving Mr. McMahon’s head.
The two had a fake feud in which Mr. Trump pretended to buy the franchise from Mr. McMahon — causing a real-life market upset for the company’s stock — then sell it back for twice the price. In 2013, W.W.E. inducted Mr. Trump into its hall of fame.
