i like to think that uhhh shadows usually left alone to their dungeons become palace rulers but also what if they begin to pull a coraline/other mother where their human facades begin to break down a bit and they start looking like their awakened formes a bit. Birdy-lookin shadow yukiko who gets all twitchy and feathery and shadow naoto begins to look all roboty.
