in light of Fallout being popular again, this is a list of things I wish Bathesda had done in Fallout 4:
made a way to side against the railroad without having to kill Deacon. Even if you send him to the most distant settlement, he still spawns in the RR HQ and you MUST shoot him. I don’t like it :(
have the option to remove Danse from power armour after saving him from the BoS. It doesn’t make sense that he’s an enemy of the BoS and still walks around in their power armour. Especially since the armour he wears until Blind Betrayal becomes yours if you side with the Brotherhood. It’s physically impossible for you to own it while he’s wearing it.
on that note, I wish Bathesda had written Danse’s dialogue differently once he’s revealed as a synth. He’s still calling himself a solder of the BoS/acting like he’s a part of the BoS months after the BoS kicked him out and literally said they’d kill him on sight. It doesn’t make sense for him to keep speaking that way. I know he sees himself as a solder, but the things he says counteracts everything you do in Blind Betrayal
adding more to that, I wish some of Danse’s romance dialogue was…nicer. Spamming “Thoughts?” only gives you TWO romance lines and they’re both very vague. Nick says nicer things to me and he isn’t even a romance option
MAKE NICK A ROMANCE OPTION
make Synth Shaun a companion 🥺
dialogue between Codsworth and Synth Shaun about pre-war life/Codsworth talking about Nate/Nora (whichever spouse died) to Shaun
i wish you could REPAIR NICKS FACE??? Like Nick has the same face as the Gen 1’s, and you kill plenty of them. How hard would it be to remove a Gen 1 face and give it to Nick so that he isn’t falling apart. You’re telling me that DiMA looks absolutely fine and Nick has to stay looking like someone threw him into a shredder? Bullshit.
personal quest for Hancock, that includes a decent amount of dialogue if you’re romancing him
interactions between the character you’re romancing and Synth Shaun, specifically them treating him like family

My first time playing Fallout 4 has been awesome! Sometimes you're on a super serious mission and suddenly you're dragged into helping robot pirates. It's great! That said, this was the first time I've disappointed my entire team because I sided with Ironside and, uh, killed all the scavs :(
But listen, Vault Boy here has a soft spot for sentry bots like Ironsides, he used to serve with them back in the day! It was nice to be treated like a fellow soldier again, and yes, the added bonus of them being pirates helped sweeten the deal.
So it was all worth it. And now I have a cannonball gun for Boe the Vault Boy!

Well that's a skill they don't teach in boot camp.
Another take on my first sole survivor, Nora. It's not that she's scared of mirelurks, there's just somthing about that noise they make. 😖

Heyo! I went to my friends birthday party a while back in July and decided to indulge in my Fallout Hyperfixation! I wanted to show y’all my boy!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Don’t exactly have a name for him yet, ima let my friend name him!
He was supposed to be a ghoul but I figured he looked more like that Axolotl-Gulper thingy from the show.
Y’all’s thoughts? :3
UPDATE!
Just got finished with some Fanart for the lil dude.
Friendo’s coming over on Saturday so we’ll have a name for him by then hopefully!

Oh my fucking god I just realized. So I hadn’t read the vault 111 terminals in full pretty much since the first few times I played Fallout 4. Recently though I’ve been playing with my friend who’s never played before and he, of course, read them. That was like 3 weeks ago and today my dad said something that made me start thinking of the Vault Tec rep.
I had always been so weirded out by how he acts at your door and how it’s seems obvious that he somehow knew the bombs were about to drop. It is never explained which I always thought was strange and theorized about it. Today I just realized I was actually so stupid for that because the overseer’s terminal in 111 says something like “Thank god we got the early warning.” and “We were just barely able to get all of the people signed up including some last minute ones from the neighborhood down the hill”. The Vault Tec rep knew the bombs were about to drop and was told to go and rush signing up the last few residents they needed!!
I seriously can’t believe I had never connected those dots when I have thought about how weird it was that the Vault Tec rep seemingly knew abt the bombs for years!

Connection between Vault 31 and Vault 111 theory.
What if Vault 111 was supposed to be an early warning for Bud's Buds frozen in 31? So if the Dwellers in 111 started dying due to prolonged suspension in the Cryo Pods, all of the Vault Tec people in 31 would be thawed out immediately. That would explain why Dwellers in 111 were never supposed to be thawed out even after an All Clear. And the reason the signal wasn't sent was because of the system override.

one of my favorite things about fallout 4 is that story component of ‘waking up in a new world’ that fantasy stories sometimes use, is completely flipped on it’s ass. Because there is no magic, it’s just the sheer brutality of war. There is nothing left of Sole’s past, and there’s no going back. And how they’re given an artificial model of the son they never watched grow up, and will never continue to see grow—it’s like a slap in the face to that sentiment. Killing Kellogg can surely avenge your spouse and the theft of your son, but there’s no real closure there. You can’t pursue vengeance on Vault Tec for experimenting on your family, or on the employees that left you in that pod to die because they’re already dead. The Sole Survivor is forced to come to terms that their world is gone forever, there is no return but you’re still alive; you can still form new connections, be capable of more than just revenge or hate, fall in love again, breathe the dusty air and grill some radioactive cow in the ruins of your old neighborhood, surrounded by new faces, new lives. It’s complete renewal. I know all of this sounds super obvious but as someone who’s had to deal with unclosed trauma and the passage of time, it HURTS so uniquely bad.
Also, to be more survivor-specific; I can’t imagine what either spouse could’ve felt in that scenario. Nate, being a former soldier who thought he could narrowly escape that carnage, only to be reminded of their reality as the familiar sound of vertibirds fly overhead. To helplessly watch his wife be murdered the same as his old comrade-in-arms after everything he did to keep them safe.
And for Nora, who probably spent each day worrying and stressing for her husband’s safety while he was deployed. Only to watch him be murdered helplessly trying to shield their son, unable to do anything once again. To have that sense of a permanent future be swiped from them and wrecked into oblivion.
And then in 210 years, be face to face with the son they don’t know and never knew at all, unable to be saved and the embodiment of guilt—older than their own selves and completely unrecognizable. The way their voices welled with emotion as they saw the synth version of their son, believing him to be real and begging for him to follow. They come all this way and for what? Realize their own child is the enemy? When they watch from that rooftop as the Institute explodes, everyone celebrates but does Sole? Do they want to question if it was worth it? I also like the addition of the Silver Shroud missions because maybe it offered a chance for Sole to reminisce, live within their old life for a minute and be human. And they seemed really happy about it too despite everything.
or maybe im just overly empathetic uhhhhhh
