My buddy Ron has been YouTubin' about #Transformers, and has a great series called THE MANY TOYS OF, where he goes through the toy history of different TF characters. 🤖
I kept bugging him to do METROPLEX 🏙, and he did!
Great video, check it out! #Maccadam

“It is said that during the first age, there were so many Titans that they dotted the sky like stars. But when the Quintessons came, the Primes and their inheritors were not enough to save them from the wrath of creatures without empathy." - Dion, Third-rate priest of the Primacy
Lore below the cut.
It is recorded that there were once possibly up to several thousand Titans near to and on Cybertron while the Primes still reigned. They travelled in huge groups, flocking as they spread out across the stars. Most vanished into the void of space, going forth to bring life to barren worlds just as Primus wished. Aside from a few colony worlds with still living Titans, their fates are unknown, but it is assumed that most of the Titans completed their duties as intended.
Those who remained behind on Cybertron to help safeguard the infant civilizations forming there were not nearly as fortunate. Each and every Titan was cut down methodically by the Quintessons after their arrival. The Primes who survived 'The Fall' were not strong enough to protect their Titan wards, and most of them fell alongside their cityformer comrades. The Titans never fought back, but they did attempt to flee. Most were killed all across the planet, scattered and without aid. But during the siege of Polyhex, several ancient Titans were corralled into the Rust Sea and promptly fell one after another. Their corpses created the Hydrax Plateau.
Other Titan corpses were later used as the foundations for several great cities due to the stability of their frames and the increase in wildlife growth in the areas near the bodies. Iacon, Helex, and Polyhex are three such examples. Each city built atop a Titan corpse has been noted having specific frame augmentations for any newbuilds formed there. Sometimes, newbuilds even emerge with memory fragments that they should not possess. However, those things mean little for Cybertron and its people in the modern age. The Titans are dead, and their relics are all that remain.
As it stands, there are only three Titans recorded as being active in Cybertron's most secure records. Vos, Trypticon, and Metroplex. Vos is a well kept secret and his identity is hidden beneath the guise of him being the first ever floating city. Metroplex has not moved in millennia. As for Trypticon? He wanders the wild parts of Cybertron's surface and, despite his size, is rarely observed by normal bots.

I just got here
What do you mean Mea dies? Can you please elaborate?
Like I said before, Meabee in Knightverse are doomed.
Mea dies, but that's way, way long after the events of RoTB. Im probably not gonna write it out fully into a fic but I'll just write it out here;
Mea dies after she ends up sacrificing herself. Think like Metroplex from Fall of Cybertron.
The Dagitab relic, other than being an armor; can also be used for power surges IF the user is Cybertronian.
If the user is human, their body won't be able to handle it and they'll die.
The relic was used to help power a bridge so Optimus and the others could head back to Cybertron. Mea was willing to take that chance.
"I had a good run, Bee."

In Fall Of Cybertron, where does Metroplex actually come from? He first appears just sitting within a stone's throw of the Ark, no one seems to know he exists, and he seems to imply he's a direct servant of the Primes.
Dear Titanically Twisted,
Metroplex was indeed a servant of the Primes, specifically Alpha Trion. Back during the Age of Origins the world was still wild and dangerous, making the prospect of building civilization a difficult one. In this, Alpha Trion recruited Metroplex, a recently forged and gigantic warrior, to act as guardian for his newly-planned settlement. Within Metroplex's citadel form, Alpha Trion would build libraries, schools, and medical facilities, all to help the establishment of a golden age. Many bots flocked to this site, which Alpha Trion named Iacon. The city expanded, new buildings being established outside the citadel as the population grew, new fortifications to drive back the wilderness. In the end the citadel of Iacon became a forgotten relic, and Metroplex assumed a deep slumber.
Then came the great war. With Megatron's many invasions and sieges, Iacon's defences were destroyed. Old facilities were brought back online, including the citadel. When Optimus Prime was planning the exodus, the wide forum outside the citadel was chosen to build the Ark's launch platform, in the hope that the ancient weapons of the citadel could defend it. Indeed they would, as the desperate refuelling of the citadel stirred Metroplex's spark—and with the power of the Matrix, he was roused to his full strength, allowing him to drive back Megatron's penultimate assault on the Ark.

Soundwave is a powerhouse and an enigma and we don't talk about it enough so i'mma just gonna make a compilation of "how the hell did he do that" and "what the hell is he" moments that i've managed to find from across several transformers continuities
first off is from the first IDW comic continuity
Tumblr media
this is never explained, so i can only assume its because soundwave is technically an outlier but i haven't seen a panel that shows other outliers having "off the scale" readings, whatever that means.
Tumblr media
and then in the last moments of this continuity he sacrifices himself to save the universe/earth by using his outlier ability along with the enigma of combination to essentially connect the dead to the living in the entire galaxy for a hot minute . idk how the hell he did that or how he knew to do that, my money is on bad writing but i digress.
next up Transformers Prime
Tumblr media
tfp fans: elaborate on that. tfp writers: no. transformers prime soundwave is definitely a powerhouse and an enigma for several reasons but number one is this god damn scene with ratchet exclaiming soundwave isn't your standard cybertronian and then to my frustration the show refuses to explain why.
Tumblr media
also he can open portals. the only explanation for that is in the novels where he actually was part of the invention of spacebridge technology. i guess he could've incorporated that into himself, which frankly is kinda unheard of in of itself. but still I feel inclined to tell him that skywarp called and they want their powers back.
Next, we have the game Transformers: fall of cybertron. where he scavenges together all of megatrons parts and puts him back together which, yeah sure why not? it's essentially like putting a corpse back together but then he just REVIVES HIM??
Tumblr media
with his mind completely intact despite having been decimated by Metroplex and being dead for several hours. excuse me sir but that shouldn't be possible. I guess I could just chop it up to the writers being a bit loosey goosey with their own rules for the world but it's still quite a feat. but thinking back to G1 where he did the same thing with skyfire I guess they assumed it's just something he can do?
Tumblr media
although skyfire's revival was a bit more reasonable considering he was still in one piece and frozen solid which they explained to be the reason as to why he was kept intact. but I'm assuming that's why the writers were like "well let's just have him do the same thing for megatron" and everyone was like yeah okay why not. also like a lot of things in G1 this inbuilt high voltage canon/defibrillator is never brought up again which is hilarious and par for the course for G1.
there are several more moments throughout all the tf continuities where soundwave just does something inexplicable but these are a some of the moments that stuck out to me the most. I welcome others to add onto this post if they wish. because I'm sure I've missed some "how the hell did he do that" moments that would be a shame not to bring up.

Lately all I can think of is TFP Optimus being demon bait. Amongst every iteration that I seen with the Matrix, he feels more like a placeholder involving the relic than an actual Champion for Primus. Plus TFP is the only one who doesn't retain any knowledge about his past as Orion Pax.
Placeholders are easier to tempt than champions since they aren't fully protected or warned of the danger. The Matrix of Leadership practically rats him out to anything supernatural when you consider it acts more like a vessel unlike other relics. Optimus is gonna have a mixed time should a demon hone in on him.
I get what you're saying. All the strange and, let's face it, very sus Artifacts are painting a very wild picture.
Personally, while I do believe TFP Optimus is a legitimate Prime, he isn't a fully realized one. It gets weirder with the Canon lore in the Aligned verse that the Matrix was housed with Prima's Star Saber and that Optimus is supposed to be the reincarnation of the mysterious Thirteen. Plus, Metroplex from the games vouched his status as a Prime: "Metroplex heeds the call of the last Prime." (Fall of Cybertron game)
I wonder how come the writers didn't go with the Primal Artifacts being semi-sentient? It would really make sense with the mythos and immense powers, especially since those tools can be only wielded by a Prime. So the building blocks were there. Or, have the ghost of Prima within the Matrix that's controlling new ordained champions, and it's intefering with Thirteen's connections? The Matrix has an established history of reformatting new bearers, so is it a big surprise that they're turned into Prima's thoughts of a prefect guardian? Prima has different Aspects and Domains compared to his youngest brother.
The themes of identity and self-determination are there. I think he internally struggled with it. Is he Orion Pax of Alpha Trion? Optimus Prime of Prima? Are they one and the same mask? Does he remember the Wilds in his dreams? Did he have hopes and plans for reconstruction? At night, does he recounts all the steps that brought him to that point?
But yeah, TFP!Optimus would be a succulent prize for a supernatural entity. The Matrix is both a beacon and lighthouse. To see a mortal God-King or a divine champion drowning in uncertainty would turn the very dangerous or very desperate towards him because a contract could be established.
Weirdly enough, out of all the Autobots, I think Optimus would have the easiest time navigating any potential entities. Orion Pax lived and breathed in doublespeak as an archivist directly sponsored by Alpha Trion himself. He knows the intricate dance to steer between treacherous allies and hostile enemies and how to be very leery of certain agreements. Orion was stuck between impossible contradictions of his status.
Ratchet has had certain privileges afforded by his function and frame. He's comfortable taking over things and saying his piece, especially among the current team. He also has a poor opinion of non-Cybertronian anything. He would either be killed for insolence and disrespect or be ensnared in a dream that gives him his deepest wishes. Arcee, depending on your viewpoint, is either lucky or unlucky, especially since she survives all her partnerships. Even Jack Darby, no matter how careful, has a human lifespan, which is seafoam to a Cybertronian. Something would latch onto her anger and grief. Bulkhead can be a very considerate soul. Some being would be charmed by the mech. Bumblebee is kind, and Smokescreen can be impulsive and so very clever. Traits that are endearing to many entities in old tales.
Optimus would have his hands full should something start sniffing around the base.

If we do get a Transformers One sequel, it would be amazing if it adapts the War and Fall Of Cybertron games as one with a scene that recreates the Metroplex and Megatron scene. Like a captured Optimus pleads with Megatron who begins executing an Autobot team led by Elite until Optimus summons Metroplex before he can get to her. As an added extra, before Optimus commands Metroplex to smash Megatron one last time, he hesitates but sadly tells him to smash him one last time which kills him.
Then in a post credit scene, we get a POV shot of some bot being repaired by Soundwave and sees Starscream’s coronation on a TV as the screen ends to reveal a now furious Megatron on reflection. Then another post credit of Optimus discussing plans to leave Cybertron as they discover the location of an Omega Sentinel named Omega Supreme which were massive robots that helped colonize planets with a disguised Makeshift (Amandla Stenberg) informing Starscream of the situation and adds mention of a second one, the Nemesis.

Firsts to Grow Up AU - The connections between the cybersleeves, the Emberstone, Quintus Prime and Terratronus.
Terratronus makes a deal with Quintus Prime to only let the Terrans be born when the first human(s) who touches the Emberstone have good intentions and good heart.
Quintus enforces the cybersleeves' existence; Terratronus can manipulate it slightly (granting healing, force fields & changing its size).
Terratronus doesn't know that a shared emotional hivemind amongst organics is extremely overwhelming, invasive, and uncomfortable. When she hears Mo's desperation in wanting the cybersleeves gone when Robby falls deathly ill, Terratronus is ready to heed her wishes.
However, Quintus prevents her.
Like most metallic creatures, Quintus is indifferent at most in regards to organic creatures. Being techno-organic and a Titan, Terratronus cares for humanity regardless of the atrocities they had done to themselves and nature.
[I took the above bit from the comics where Titans hold no grudges against their citizens even after they repeatedly bombed them (Metroplex), left them to loneliness (Navitas), or become the only place where newsparks are born (Caminus).]
Mandroid and Croft knows about Terratronus. They experimented the mind control devices on Cybertronians -- those working with them and those they've cpatured -- in hopes it would work with Terratronus.
They plan to use Terratronus to invade Cybertron to "avenge humanity".
