Firsts to Grow Up AU - The connections between the cybersleeves, the Emberstone, Quintus Prime and Terratronus.
Terratronus makes a deal with Quintus Prime to only let the Terrans be born when the first human(s) who touches the Emberstone have good intentions and good heart.
Quintus enforces the cybersleeves' existence; Terratronus can manipulate it slightly (granting healing, force fields & changing its size).
Terratronus doesn't know that a shared emotional hivemind amongst organics is extremely overwhelming, invasive, and uncomfortable. When she hears Mo's desperation in wanting the cybersleeves gone when Robby falls deathly ill, Terratronus is ready to heed her wishes.
However, Quintus prevents her.
Like most metallic creatures, Quintus is indifferent at most in regards to organic creatures. Being techno-organic and a Titan, Terratronus cares for humanity regardless of the atrocities they had done to themselves and nature.
[I took the above bit from the comics where Titans hold no grudges against their citizens even after they repeatedly bombed them (Metroplex), left them to loneliness (Navitas), or become the only place where newsparks are born (Caminus).]
Mandroid and Croft knows about Terratronus. They experimented the mind control devices on Cybertronians -- those working with them and those they've cpatured -- in hopes it would work with Terratronus.
They plan to use Terratronus to invade Cybertron to "avenge humanity".

Dr Meridian, while he's tied up: "Don't you think I'm a bit too old for you? Agent Cro---ahh…."
Agent Croft decides it's vital to keep Dr Meridian/Mandroid as "human" as possible, so she can keep him under her control.
Uuh…it doesn't work (it's over pretty quickly on Mandroid's side), but both decide it was a nice break from work.
runs away embarrassed
ε===(っ≧ω≦)っ
***Please note: Mandroid could escape any time, but he was curious what Agent Croft had in mind. And when he found out, meeh: "I'll play along."**
Update: @monocle-teacup has written a steamy fanfic inspired by my drawing!:

You can tell that Mandroid knew that Croft was going to try and use the control badge on him. I know the badge is supposed to disable anyone wearing a GHOST symbol, but what was Croft expecting? Mandroid only has TF arms so technically the badge would've only affected those. He obviously integrated the arms with his nervous system somehow but it's not like he's fully robotic.

A female antagonist with a glowing mark on her face in a franchise about huge robots? Cool, give me two! Ah, there are already two of them. Excellent!

WARNING: EARTHSPARK SPOILERS & LONG POST AHEAD

Tumblr media
Leaked Synopsis of Episodes 1-26
Taken from this video; originally a 4chan leak.
>101-102: Secret Legacy
> Robby, reeling from his family's move from Philly to the rural town of Witwicky, finds new joy and purpose when he and his sister Mo bond with the first-ever Earth-born Transformers: the Terrans, Twitch and Thrash. Tied emotionally to their human siblings by emotionsharing cyber-sleeves, the Terrans quickly become the target for cyber-human villain Mandroid. It'll take Optimus and his Autobots along with Ranger Dot and Dr. Malto to save the kids and Terrans, all while keeping their existence and adoption a secret to prowling Decepticons and the mysterious agency of GHOST.
>103: Moooooo-ving In
> As the Malto family gets used to its new members, Bumblebee hopes to quickly knock out his mission in all things Autobot. But he's flummoxed when they seem more interested in cows and games than the wisdom he has to impart, maybe all parties could do a little more listening.
>104: H.O.U.S.E. Rules
> Thrash chafes at the "restrictive" Malto family H.O.U.S.E. rules, and he convinces Mo to go along with his loopholes around them. But when the Decepticon Swindle does some exploiting of his own to convince Thrash and Mo to help him find his missing brother, they soon find themselves playing by a much more dangerous set of rules.
>105: Classified
> GHOST Special Agent Schloder is in pursuit of a Decepticon that is targeting kids (really a misidentification of Twitch and Robby). Meanwhile, Dot is put through GHOST orientation, where she learns that GHOST's intentions might not be completely above board.
>106: Traditions
> Robby begs off Alex's traditional Wakwak hunt, so Alex shares his family history with Bumblebee, while Twitch, eager to gain her own traditions, encounters her "Dad2" -- Wheeljack.
>107: Friends and Family
> The Terrans' erratic behavior may be reflecting Mo and Robby's anxiety about their first day at their new school. Or it could be something far worse...
>108: Decoy
> While out on a mission to capture three tricky tuneful Mini-Cassette bots, Optimus and Megatron have a disagreement about GHOST's treatment of Decepticons.
>109-110: Age of Evolution
> Twitch and Thrash wonder if they're the only two Terrans in the universe, and they venture to see if that's true. With the help of Optimus, Bumblebee, Alex, Robby, and Mo, they relocate the cave of their origin and find much more than the Emberstone. With the birth of three new Terrans (Hashtag, Nightshade, and Jawbreaker) the Malto family has grown. But will these new allies be enough to rescue Dot and Megatron from the clutches of Mandroid?
>111: Hashtag Oops
> Twitch helps Hashtag choose her new altmode, and it takes them for a wild and GHOST-ly ride. Meanwhile, Alex and Bee struggle to hold down the fort with the new Terrans when Dot has to leave for work and the kids go to school.
>112: Outtakes
> Jawbreaker is feeling nervous about his altmode. How does he choose the right one? A conversation with Mom gives him an idea: use a camera to inspire bots into telling him why they chose theirs! But when Hashtag gets involved, the scale of the project gets a little out of hand.
>113: Missed Connection
> When Nightshade's feeling isolated from the rest of the Malto family, they find a new connection in the most unlikely of places...
>114: Security Protocols
> When Mo, Robby, and their Terran siblings are locked down in the Dugout, there's no way to avoid longsimmering conflict.
>115: Bear Necessities
> When Twitch gifts Dot a baby bear cub for Mother's Day, the two of them and Robby embark on a journey to return the baby to its own Mom... who, unbeknownst to them, is tussling with the other Maltos at the homestead!
>116: Warzone
> Robby and Mo join the Terrans on a visit to the Spacebridge Memorial Park, but the memory of the siege opens old wounds... and more... for Megatron.
>117-118: Home
> The kids and Terrans sneak out for a night of fun in Philadelphia, but their dreams of visiting the big city transform into a nightmare.
>119: A Stygi Situation
> Jawbreaker gains a dinosaur altmode, but instead of changing into it, the altmode changes him.
>120: Disarmed
> As Mandroid secretly works in GHOST, Robby, Mo, and the Terrans attempt to force new cyber-sleeve powers to unlock, with disastrous results.
>121: What Dwells Within
> The Malto kids are lost in a maze of underground tunnels with a mysterious monster stalking them. In order to survive they have to team up with Starscream! But can they trust him?
>122: Prime Directive (or Once Upon a Prime)
> Robby's cyber-sleeve illness threatens his life, so Mo renounces ever touching the Emberstone and Quintus Prime shows Mo why she's the hero her family needs.
>123: Stowed Away, Stowaway
> When Bumblebee is called away on a secret spy mission, Thrash, Twitch, Mo and the others decide to go on their own secret mission to protect Bee.
>124: The Battle of Witwicky
> The truth about the Terrans is revealed as the Malto family makes a last stand against Croft and her sinister forces within GHOST.
>125-126: Last Hope
> The Malto family must overcome insurmountable odds to stop Mandroid once and for all, and save Cybertronian kind.

A quick analysis of the Breakdown/Bumblebee escape sequence from Earthspark
Quick context: the way I read them is more of the “we’re calling them brothers like how spop had to call catradora sisters to explain the levels of affection they have for each other and to throw off the scent of the homophobes so therefore they are gay” way. That being said.
1) Breakdown could have put his hand anywhere. ANYWHERE on Bee to push him out of the way. Instead, he puts his hand in the softest way possible on Bee’s chest - where his insignia is - where the symbol that drove them apart is stamped in a red that sets itself apart from the yellow and black of Bee’s paint job. People literally talked about this, had conversations, and approved the boards and final animations. He could have shoved him at the shoulder, or anywhere else but no. They chose his chest for a REASON.
2) The diversion scene - Breakdown is not only taking all of those stupid laser blasts, including Croft’s supercharged blasts - while being faster than Bumblebee. And we see Bee accelerating as Breakdown pulls further and further ahead. This tells me two things. One. Bee knew he would lose, but agreed to the bet with Breakdown in the trailer anyways because he would rather see him safe since he doesn’t have the same support system Bee has, and two, Bee’s entire goal of finding and racing Breakdown was to make sure he was safe and he was willing to give up ever seeing him again if it meant he would be able to evade GHOST.
3) The way Breakdown sounded when he first revealed himself, as mentioned by another post on here, was that he sounded afraid. Breakdown was terrified of being taken in, but didn’t want that to happen to Bee because he knew what GHOST had in store was both inhumane and awful. So he took the fall and dove straight into the line of fire. And you can hear the desperation in his voice as he reaches out because he knows it’s a last-ditch effort for one of them to escape to safety.
4) Bee’s look of shock and terror as Breakdown disappears under the bridge, injured, unable to transform, and surrounded by agents is heartbreaking. He just lost one of the parts of home closest to him - a friend from BEFORE the war. Remember, this isn’t someone he befriended during the war, they were torn apart by it. And they were able to keep up their little game of drag racing together until now, when the war took them apart again - potentially forever.
Also i just want to add yes I am subscribed to the headcanon that knockout is still here and that yes all three of them have two hands. Bee can have some boyfriends. As a treat. He’s been through a lot and needs love.

An individual in a powerful position teams up with a mad scientist to carry out their grand plans x2
The main thing that sets apart these two pairs are their motives.
Prowl wanted to speedrun the war to [hopefully] prevent more deaths in what was turning into a massive conflict while Mesothulas was merely obsessed with the intellectual challenge and inspiration.
As far as I can tell, Agent Croft desires control over Cybertronians for the sake of gaining more power while Dr. Meridian just wants to get rid of them.
But still. Color Theory says a lot:

Also, Mandroid has the whole spider theme going on with his Arachnamechs.
Reminds me of a certain scientist who liked spiders…

Silly idea:
Put clown makeup on all the GHOST Agents, and clown music whenever they’re in shot. Because they’re just a big fucking circus.
Except Schloder. He’s okay. :)

Funny how Karen says that 'destruction is all Cybertronians know' despite, you know, being the one who attack a family who just want to live at peace for once and wanting to conquer Cybertron while all Cybertronians want at this point is to be simply left alone. Woman got double standards here
And that's not taking in account that human race in its short existence came up with way more reasons to hate and destroy each other than Cybertronians ever did in their eons of functioning. Imagine that

It's safe to assume that Mandroid probably knew about Terratronus which makes his desperation in the S1 finale more significant. He probably anticipated a situation like what happened in the S2 Batch 1 finale.
Croft obviously knew about Terratronus as well considering that Starscream wanted her hard drive and the fact that she forbid anyone from going into the tunnels underneath GHOST during What Dwells Within in S1.

I must say that I approve and support all the heinous acts committed by my villainous favorites. But that's not all, I think they should have committed more large-scale and terrible atrocities than those they committed. I think it would be fun.
Tumblr media
Okay, when Decepticons commit crimes, everyone has fun, but human characters suddenly can't do such things. Unfair! We are for equality! Anyone can be a villain with a fanbase!
