To Be Wooed
I blacked out and wrote this. This is so silly to me.
Enjoy!
Look Danny didn't mean to kill the Joker it was an honest mistake, he was still recovering from escaping the GIW and whatever they had used on him had still been in effect when he honest to Ancients ran into the fake clown.
Of course it doesn't look like an accident with how he left the Joker
But it was!
Really it really was!
Whatever the GIW did was out of his system, but that still left a very dead and coreless Joker.
Yeah...apparently Joker had a core, but not anymore because he ate it like it was pop rock candy, if the weird cousin spicy version of it. He still feels like he has some of it stuck in his teeth.
Anyways! Not the point!
Joker! Very dead at his feet, what is he supposed to do-
THUMP
Oh Ancients he's going to die again that's the Red Hood!
"Uh...I can explain, well not really. But it was an accident! I promise and-"
"You killed him?"
"I'm really sorry? He bumped into me, it was an accident I swear!"
"Go on a date with me."
WHa-what?! Did he just hear correctly why would he ask him out out of nowhere it made no sense and..oh.
Red Hood's been touched by Death not like him but enough to count, and enough to have some ghostly instincts.
Okay ghostly courting he can do that, he totally can, no sweat!
Shit who is he kidding he may have the instincts but he was never actually taught how he's supposed to use them or anything.
Well he's always been good at making it up as he goes, and at least his instincts will help push him in the right direction.
So he should just do what feels natural to him.
"Yes I'll go out with you. If I were to make jewelry and knives out of his bones would you accept them?"
"...For me to wear and use. Yes."
~
Danny freaking out about just killing and kinda eating someone: I'm in so much trouble!
Jason behind him fixing his appearance: "Well hello there handsome come by here often?"
~
Joker bumping into Danny: "ahAHA you will make a good experiment!"
Danny is high as a kite and getting the munchies: "I didn't know I could order food with my mind!"
Joker: "Whut-"
~
Jason seeing Danny absolutely wrecking Jokers shit: *Ghost Instincts Activated*
~
Jason falling fast for Danny without even knowing his name: "Can I pretty please kiss you?"
Danny realizing what's going on but still being clueless: "Does that mean you will accept these gifts made from Jokers bones?"
Jason's Ghost Instincts rising to a fever pitch: "I'm going to woo the fuck out of ya and then we'll get married then we'll fu-"
~
Danny's Ghostly Instincts being connected to his 'Protection' & Jason's to his 'Revenge' showing these kind of specific gestures towards them is incredibly romantic.
~
Jason and Danny's relationship basically:
~
~
~
#They're like Morticia & Gomez absolutely smitten for each other
#Jason brings a crying & beaten up GIW who has been stalking Danny
#Danny almost swooned
#They start flirting with each other while standing on top of the GIW dude
#Jason's goons are happy that their boss found 'The One' apparently but can they please stop eyefucking each other while they're there and-

Bill Cipher x Reader possesion hc's
tw: harm to reader, violence and blood?
i think he would posses you in your sleep, making sure you are deep in nightmare realm, getting in only when he's sure you won't wake up :
he will start his fun with drawing eyes on your eyelids and your forehead, maybe whole body if he's in the mood,
and the best part? It's going to be with a the pernament marker sucker!
if he gets bored he might start drawing triangles or riddles, sometimes just in places you won't see, like "Bill's property" on your nape (ha! you still have that you fool!)
oooh, and maybe he will tattoo that if you've been ignoring him lately
just so you know haha
will try to see if he can bite of ur fingers
will eat spiders (his fav human must be well feed)
will bath you in nailpolish so you're "well preserved"
will prank call random people hoping he finds any of the Pines numbers (so you two can go on a murder date!!)
will make a fashion show!
but don't hope it will turn out well, he will cut out "clothes" out of your curtains, make a shawl out of toilet paper and use a grater as a bracelet. Later you may just find yourself half naked cuz he bearly knew how to put back normal clothes on you (he will defend himself saying that real clothes are boring and out of style)
on the other hand he will also put on lots of jewelry and accesories - so you may also wake up with three hats, old winter glove, two bowties (which you didn't own earlier?) and 6 rings on your toes. enjoy!
sometimes Bill will just watch tv. Maybe he will comment on "my little ponny" or other shows, what else can he do? He has to talk to somebody, you know, while waiting for his lazy human. The next day you can feel ur throat burning and eyes itching
"what about building a portal?" - you would ask. Well no, he obviously does that. It's just that it's not so enjoyable when you don't have anyone to boss around! So he gets bored quickly and nags you about it later. Or send you more nightmares about it, cuz how dare you be so sloppy with your work!?
he will also draw himslef on all your mirrors so you can look at him every time u try to look at ur relfection (if you try to clean that off, he will just scratch it with something sharp the next day, so better be cearful, theres going to be lots of glass shards everywhere)
prolly will just throw brokade everywhere cuz its pretty
if he's feeling lonely or desperate he will start rewiring your brain, maybe adding a few fake memories where he's your hero, or putting himself in a place of somebody that helped you in hard sytuation. Remember that one time you got sick and somebody was next to your bed 24/7? Yeah it was Bill, do thank him.
will read all your thoughts about him
will drink a soup made of energy drinks and candy
will write his name on ur brain. or heart. or lungs, maybe just everywhere, why not?
will act like you in front of the mirror and compliment himself!
will try making a piercing. if he fails with your ears he will just practice on your tights! And neck!
will haunt down your friends, you better tell them you were just playing tag with them. Yes, with a knife, who doesn't?
will try to lick your eyeball
and elbow
also will hurt your body in weird ways but that obvious
(buuuut maybe, just maybe, he will make you not feel all the pain the next day. If he likes you that enough, that is)

The Lost Boys: What are their indulgences?
Marko
strawberry lip balm
He absolutely despises having chapped lips
If he’s not careful, during the winter he will end up with raw, chapped lips like an elementary schooler, from licking them to keep them moist
So how did the strawberry lip balm come into play?
He has Paul to thank
One cold winter evening Marko’s lips were bright red and raw, and Paul of course couldn’t keep his thoughts to himself and pointed out that Marko looked like a clown.
He went on all night coming up with what Marko’s “clown name” should be!
While Paul was bouncing around the cave shouting out clown names like a maniac, he came across a tin of strawberry chapstick that must have fallen out of the pocket of one of their victims
He promptly CHUCKED the Tin at Marlo’s face and shouted “here! Problem solved bingo the clown!”
After Marko chased Paul around the cave for a good hour, and David screamed at them to cut it out, Marko tried the lip balm, and the rest is history
He will only use strawberry, and he doesn’t give a crap what the boys have to say about it because his lips don’t feel like they are going to peel off anymore
unfortunately that brand of lip balm was discontinued for containing lead about 10 years ago, so Marko has had to expand his lip balm horizons
Paul
Bracelets
The boy looks like he belongs in a Christian rock band
He would wear bracelets up to his elbows if he could!
One of his favorite past times on the boardwalk (besides looking for dinner) is looking through all the vender stalls for new bracelets
This is actually how they met Star!
She was selling jewelry she made in a stall, and Paul swiped a bracelet from her
She of course chased after him for it!
She somehow managed to tackle him to the ground
Paul of course made some cheeky comment about being pinned to the ground
While Star was distracted by the comment, Paul managed to swipe another bracelet from her wrist
Paul fanned a fake apology and gave her the original stolen bracelet back
Star didn’t realize she was missing a bracelet from her person till way later that night
Dwayne
cherry coke
And not the crap that’s in a bottle that you get from a convenience store
No. He’s talking the stuff you get at a soda shop where they make them to order and mix the syrups and tonics together by hand
Unfortunately, there aren’t a lot of places like this around anymore in the US
Fortunately for him though there is one place on the Boardwalk that sells them
The candy store on the Boardwalk opened sometime in the 30s, and still has its original soda counter with its resident soda jerk.
The soda jerk is an old timer that’s been working there since he was 14.
He knows Dwayne’s order without even asking and prepares it for him once he walks in the typically, very, crowded door
Dwayne usually takes his cherry coke to go, since he’s well aware of how people perceive him and the boys and doesn’t want to drive the owner's customers away
David
petting dogs
(I know I know this one is weird but hear me out!)
David is viewed as the tough, scary leader of the lost boys, and he’s not complaining about that. In fact, he LOVES seeing the fear in people's eyes when him and his boy's role in every night on their bikes.
But, when he sees a chonky, Basest Hound wobble its way down the Boardwalk with its human, the man cannot resist giving that good boy or girl a nice pet on the head
Doing this is tricky though, since most people (especially the locals) take one look at him and cross to the other side of the street
And, not to mention dogs can sense vampires and identify them as predators pretty quickly
So, he has to be tactful
He waits till the owner is distracted, and the boys are definitely NOT AROUND (he has a reputation to uphold!) and sneaks over and gives that dog some nice pets
Or if the dog is off lease, he will lure the dog over to him with a hot dog he found on the ground or trash
This of course is if the dog will even go near him. Like I said before dogs can sense that there is something UP with the boys and tend to keep their distance, and, or will bare their teeth to protect themselves and their owner
I think David’s love for dogs comes from when he was a child
He grew up in a family that bread dogs for extra cash, and he misses being able to sleep in a dog pile every night like he did when he was a child
*Cough cough* which is why the boy's sleeping arrangements is the way it is.

II HANDS II HEAVEN 4
Natasha Romanoff x Fem!Reader
Summary: Natasha Romanoff and Reader reluctantly team up for a couples retreat mission. Despite initial resistance, they find themselves drawn together by unexpected circumstances and shared experiences.
W/c:4k
Masterlist | General Masterlist
Hour 15 - Welcome to Jacksonville
“So live your life (eh-eh-eh)
You steady chasin' that paper
Just live your life (oh, eh-eh-eh)”
“Ain’t got no time for no haters,” You sang the lyrics to the TI and Rihanna song, as you eased the car into a parking spot with precision. Your voice filled the car's interior as you continued to hum to the music. With one hand casually resting on Natasha's passenger headrest, you backed into the first available spot.
Natasha seemed none the wiser as she slept peacefully beside you. She had learned to tune you out three hours ago. She stirred beside you, her peaceful slumber interrupted by the cutting of the car's engine. Blinking groggily, she glanced around the unfamiliar surroundings of the parking lot.
"Why are we stopping?" Her voice held a trace of confusion as she sat up, her gaze flitting around. "Where are we? Is this a mall?"
With a casual shrug, you unbuckled your seatbelt, a playful smirk playing on your lips. "Do you always wake up this disoriented?"
Natasha's brow furrowed slightly, a hint of irritation creeping into her voice. "I wouldn't be disoriented if you didn't keep making unnecessary stops."
You shrugged, unfazed by her annoyance. "Relax, it's just a quick pit stop. Thought we could use a little break before we hit the road again."
Natasha sighed, her frustration evident as she glanced out the window. "Fine, but make it quick. We have a schedule to keep."
“You’re coming aren’t you?” You turned to her as you slid out of the driver’s seat.
Natasha followed suit, stepping out of the car with a grimace. This heat was atrocious. "I suppose I have no choice," she replied.
You walked ahead of her, straight through the mall, and into the adult equivalent of a candy store; Jared's Jewelry.
Natasha frowned as she observed you eyeing the necklaces on the counter. "Jewelry shopping?" she questioned, a hint of skepticism in her voice.
"Wedding band shopping," you clarified, tapping your left ring finger for emphasis. "Married couples with no rings?"
“Right,” She mumbled. This mission hadn’t been as meticulously planned as others. The dealings mostly relied on you both to be sufficient spies that could handle things like this on your own.
“We’ve been married two days and you’re already forgetting the important stuff,” You joked with a headshake. “Oh, I like this one.”
“$2,000?” Natasha tilted her head. She squinted her eyes at the price. This was a part of life she never had to pay much attention to.
“You're right too cheap,” You nodded in agreement. Natasha was just about to protest when a man with an unidentifiable accent approached the both of you.
The man, dressed in all black like a worker, approached with a friendly smile. "Can I help you ladies find something?" he asked in his accented voice.
You immediately shared a knowing gaze with Natasha. His accent was most certainly fake. Maybe as a way to keep up appearances in such a high-end store.
“Yes, my wife and I are looking for wedding bands,” You begin to play the part of Alexis. Half ditzy and overexcited. “Can you show me a better selection or is this all you have?”
“Is there anything in particular you’re looking for?”
“Surprise me,” You gestured to the entirety of the store.
The worker, Jimmy, nodded and led you to several pieces, showcasing them with pride. However, none of them seemed to be quite right. Natasha's annoyance grew evident, but you seemed to be having too much fun, trying on different pieces and admiring yourself in the mirror.
“What do you think of this one?” You looked at Natasha as you gently tapped against the glass. She inspected the jewelry piece and shrugged. She did not like it.
“How about this one?” Natasha pointed to a wedding band set near the area she wandered off to.
“Oh, that one is beautiful,” Jimmy praised as he opened up the glass casing for you to get a closer look. He picked up the ring, passing it over to you while watching the both of you closely.
You eyed the wedding band set that Natasha pointed out, examining it with interest. It was simple, yet elegant and beautiful, just as she described. You reached out to touch it, feeling the smooth material against your fingertips.
“How many carats?” You asked aloud. “It’s pretty.”
Jimmy described the wedding cushion band, "It's a 2-carat total weight round diamond set in 14-karat white gold. It's one of our finest pieces, quite exquisite, if I may say so."
Natasha's eyes widened as she realized how expensive it was, almost saying no. But before she could voice her concern, you rushed in, saying, "I'll take it."
“That’s a $4,000 ring,” Natasha pointed out.
You shrugged casually, "Yeah, so?"
“Don’t you think that’s a little expensive considering the circumstances?”
“Let’s just say my billionaire daddy gave me his credit card,” You smirked cheekily, alluding back to Natasha’s insult a few hours ago.
Natasha's eyebrows raised, but she didn't press further. Instead, she nodded, acknowledging your response.
“In that case, let’s look for a band that compliments you blondie,” Jimmy encouraged as he led you over to yet another ring display. He missed the death glare Natasha was sending his way as he walked ahead of you. You couldn't help but snicker at her expense. Oh, you would love this week. “This time, I think the misses can pick one out. Since you did pick hers.”
You grinned mischievously, your eyes scanning over rings that were far from Natasha's taste. "Sure thing, Jimmy. Let's see if we can find something that screams her." Your tone was playful, knowing full well that the rings you were considering would likely get a less-than-enthusiastic response from Natasha.
“Don’t you dare,” Natasha murmured threateningly. She caught sight of the rose gold wedding ring that looked more like a toy than real jewelry. It was tacky and not as well made as some of the other rings you’d seen.
You chuckled softly, pretending to consider the ring for a moment before shaking your head. "Nah, too flashy for you, babe," you teased, using the nickname deliberately to provoke a reaction. "We'll keep looking." You shot her a playful wink before turning your attention back to the display.
As you browsed through the selection, your eyes caught on a ring resting in the display. It was a delicate white gold band, adorned with a single, shimmering diamond that seemed to dance in the light. The stone was elegantly set in a simple, yet intricate design that directly matched yours. They complimented each other in the best way.
"This one," You murmured, reaching for the ring with a sense of certainty.
"This is it," You declared with a smile, turning to Natasha to gauge her reaction. “It compliments your eyes. I can’t describe it but it’s nice. What do you think?
“I like it,” Natasha cleared her throat, hoping to ease some of the awkwardness between you. “It’s nice.”
“We’ll take it,” You turned to give the ring to Jimmy. “How soon can we take both home?”
“Within the next hour,” Jimmy suggested. “You said you’re paying by credit card? For you, I can have everything done within fifteen minutes. It simply takes insurance a while. I’ll give you a call when it’s ready?”
“That sounds lovely, thank you,” You stepped over to the register where he began to ring you up. “Oh, I think I left my credit card in the car. Babe, won’t you be a doll and swipe for me?” You looked at Natasha with a mischievous glint in your eyes.
Natasha's eyes narrowed at your request, but she begrudgingly reached for her wallet, swiping her card without a word. As the transaction went through, you couldn't help but smirk, knowing you had just added another layer to your playful banter.
"Thanks, babe," You said with a wink, accepting the receipt from Jimmy. "I owe you one."
“Uh huh,” Natasha nodded. “We’ll be back soon.”
Natasha followed you out of the store and down towards the food court.
“Oh, Charley’s,” You grinned. “Come, we must feast.” You waved Natasha over to Charley's Philly Steak.
“Thanks but no thanks,” Natraha shook her head. “This is a lot of grease and…”
“What type of health nut are you ?” You asked in disgust. You gave her body a once over before you sighed.
Natasha gave a wry smile. "Call me crazy, but I prefer to avoid coronary artery disease."
You chuckled. "Suit yourself. More cheesesteak for me." With that, you headed into the restaurant, leaving Natasha to ponder her choices.
You ordered the best cheesesteak on the planet, practically salivating at the menu as you stood in line. When it was time to get your food, you led Natasha over to a table to sit with you. She sat with a simple lemonade in her hand as she eyed your surroundings subtly. You had to admit the girl was good.
“You know I kind of like you,” You said to Natasha in between bites. “At first, I simply thought you were bitchy. Now I think of you as kind of hot and bitchy. It works for you. Also, the blonde does look good on you I must say.”
Natasha raised an eyebrow, unamused. "Thanks, I think."
You grinned, undeterred by her lack of enthusiasm. "Hey, it takes a special kind of person to rock the 'hot and bitchy' vibe. Not everyone can pull it off."
Natasha shook her head, a small smirk playing at the corners of her lips. "Is that supposed to be a compliment?"
"Absolutely," You replied with a wink, taking another bite of your cheesesteak.
“You certainly have a way with words,” Natasha mumbled, as she watched you ogle a beautiful woman walking past the two of you. “Keep your eyes open.”
You glanced back at Natasha, a smirk playing on your lips. "Always do, especially when the view's this good."
Natasha rolled her eyes, but a hint of amusement danced in her gaze. "Just remember why we're here, okay?"
"Got it," You replied with a wink, turning your attention back to the task at hand.
“People say I’m a bit intense,” Natasha began. “They’ve never met you.”
You chuckled, acknowledging her remark. "Intense? Me? Nah, just passionate about the job."
Natasha raised an eyebrow. "Sure, let's go with that."
“It gets me through the day to keep my mood lifted,” You said solemnly. “I spent so much time being serious. Stone-faced and unhappy. I like this version of me. It’s neat.”
Natasha regarded you with a hint of curiosity in her eyes. "So, you're saying the humor is a coping mechanism?"
You nodded a wistful smile on your face. "Something like that. Keeps me sane, you know?"
“I do,” Natasha agreed. “You’re not going to eat all of these,” Natasha said more so to herself than you as she grabbed a few fries from your plate.
"I knew you wouldn't be able to resist," You teased, nudging the plate closer to her.
“It’s halfway decent,” Natasha hummed as she chewed into a fry. “I’m not a stickler when it comes to eating. Just so you know.”
“I know,” You shrugged. Some things went without saying. If there was someone to truly judge her on certain habits she most likely gained from life growing up as a spy it wouldn’t be you.
“How old were you when you joined?” Natasha asked suddenly. “Your file doesn’t say.”
You chewed slowly, debating on whether you wanted to tell her or not.
“Fourteen,” You admitted.
Natasha's expression softened a hint of empathy in her eyes. "That's young," she remarked quietly, her tone more gentle than usual. She tried to imagine what a younger, spy you would look like. How would you have acted then? Were you afraid? Did you make friends? Were you allowed to have friends? She wants to know so much more. Though she figured you weren’t willing to tell her too much. You were only being cordial after all.
“It is,” You swallowed thickly. “I played basketball in school and I was recruited based on my JROTC background. I guess they saw something in me no one else did.”
Natasha nodded, absorbing your words. "They usually do," she replied, her voice carrying a weight of understanding. "Are you ready?”
“Yeah, I am,” You nodded. Anything to keep this conversation from going any deeper.
—------
The rest of the ride to Bay Harbor Island is done in relative silence. You and Natasha would share brief tidbits about the other, both made up and truthful, as you prepared to assume your roles. You could feel the hairs on your arms stand as you pulled into the luxurious resort parking lot. You wouldn’t even attempt to find a parking spot on your own, instead pulling up to the valet.
As the valet took the keys and you stepped out of the car, the weight of your assumed identities settled upon you. You straightened your posture, adopting the persona of Alexis, the confident and sophisticated woman you were tasked to portray. Natasha, too, seemed to slip effortlessly into her role as Joan, her demeanor shifting subtly to embody the elegance and grace expected of her character.
The resort exuded an air of opulence and sophistication, clear from the moment you stepped through the grand entrance. Freshly waxed marble floors stretched out before you, adorned with intricate patterns that spoke of craftsmanship and luxury. Crystal chandeliers hung from the ceilings casting a warm glow over the lobby.
The atmosphere was alive with energy, as guests and staff moved through the various rooms. Busy chatter filled the air, mingling with the soft sounds of classical music that played softly in the background.
Natasha and you navigated through the crowd with ease, wheeling your luggage behind you as a busboy trailed dutifully after you. The occasional glance was thrown your way, but everyone was much too busy trying to check into their rooms to do much of anything.
As you and Natasha stood side by side, it was clear to you that each of you had your own way of assessing the situation. While you scanned the room for potential exits and assessed the number of staff and guests present, Natasha's focus was on the subtle nuances of the environment. She listened intently to the conversations around you, gauging the mood of the crowd and the flow of foot traffic with practiced precision.
Despite the amount of energy in the resort lobby, both of you remained calm and composed.
“I told you we should have gotten here earlier,” A woman’s gruff and irritated voice floated from behind you.
“Well, how was I supposed to know there would be people checking in on a Thursday?” The man argued.
You exchanged a glance with Natasha as the voices behind you caught your attention. It seemed like a typical couple's bickering, but something about their tone piqued your interest. They sounded tense as if there was more beneath the surface than just a disagreement over timing.
Natasha subtly shifted her position, her body language indicating that she was now paying closer attention to the conversation behind you.
“We're already late for check-in,” the woman continued, her frustration evident in her voice. “Now we're going to have to wait in line like everyone else.”
“Well, what do you want me to do about it?” the man retorted defensively. “It's not my fault the traffic was so bad.”
As you moved ahead in line, a couple with a restless golden retriever cut off your path to get across. Hoping to avoid them, you stepped back, slightly losing your balance only to have Natasha press her left hand against your lower back to keep you steady.
“Sorry!” The husband called behind him as they rushed outside the front doors.
“Jeez, they almost knocked her over,” The woman behind you whispered to her husband, their bickering long gone.
"Thanks," You murmured to Natasha, offering her a small smile of appreciation.
“Is this okay?” Natasha leaned over to speak closer to your ear. She was referring to her hand on your back. You’d mentioned before how physical touch made you uncomfortable. Given that physical touch would be a must to sell as a fake couple, you would have to get over it. It was kind of her to ask. You nodded in response to Natasha's question, grateful for her consideration.
"Yeah, it's fine," You replied softly, trying to sound as reassuring as possible.
You were finally up. The front desk attendant was a kind young girl with a slight gap in her teeth. She had the sweetest smile that you couldn’t help but match.
“Hi, my wife and I are checking in,” Natasha spoke. “It should be under the last name White.”
The receptionist nodded, typing on the keyboard in front of her. "Ah, yes, Mrs. White," she confirmed, her fingers moving deftly over the keys. "I have your reservation right here. Welcome to Shady Corners Island Resort." She smiled warmly, handing over the room keys to Natasha. "I hope you don’t mind. Seeing as you’re newlyweds we took the pleasure of upgrading your room to one of our over-the-water bungalows. Free of charge. It’s our last one for the weekend.”
"That's very generous, thank you," Natasha replied with a gracious smile, accepting the room keys. "We appreciate it."
“If you just wait right over there near the red bell a member of our staff will be able to lead you and one of the other couples over to the bungalow area,” She gestured to the right.
"Sounds perfect," Natasha nodded, gesturing for you to follow her toward the designated waiting area near the red bell.
As Natasha and you made your way towards the waiting area, you overheard the couple behind you whispering to each other.
"I wish we could get an upgrade like that," the woman muttered.
"Yeah, but didn't you hear? The last room got booked by that couple in front of us," the man replied, disappointment evident in his voice.
You exchanged a glance with Natasha, silently acknowledging the stroke of luck that landed you the upgraded room.
As you and Natasha settled near the red bell, the couple with the restless golden retriever approached and stood next to you. The dog, clearly still restless, tugged on its leash, occasionally letting out a low whine.
You couldn't help but wonder how the dog was allowed in such a busy and upscale hotel, but you kept your thoughts to yourself, not wanting to make any assumptions. Instead, you focused on maintaining your composure and waiting patiently for the staff member to lead you to your bungalow.
“White?” An attendant approached the two of you and you answered with an enthusiastic nod. “And, Corcoran?”
“That would be us,” The woman answered. Her hair was a dark brown, beach curled, and flowing down her back. Her features were pleasant enough, with soft curves to her face and a warm smile.
“Follow me,” The attendant gestured.
As the attendant led the way, Natasha eventually dropped her hand from your back. You tried to ignore the sudden absence of her touch, focusing instead on the picturesque view of the overwater bungalows ahead. The path to the accommodations wound through lush gardens and over small bridges spanning the peaceful ocean. The sound of gentle waves lapping against the wooden stilts beneath the bungalows filled the air, creating a serene atmosphere.
“302 Sunset Retreat,” The attendant offered to take hold of your key card to show you how to get in. He demonstrated how to use the key card to unlock the door, sliding it into the slot and giving it a gentle push. With a soft click, the door unlocked, and he pushed it open to reveal the luxurious interior.
Once inside, the bellboy followed behind with your bags, placing them neatly in the living area before excusing himself, leaving you and Natasha alone in the bungalow.
The interior of the bungalow exuded tropical luxury with a modern twist.
A plush king-sized bed adorned with crisp, white linens served as the focal point of the room. The large windows offered stunning views of the crystal-clear waters below.
In one corner of the room, a luxurious jacuzzi tub awaited, surrounded by lush greenery for added privacy. Nearby, a sleek waterfall shower, with glass doors, stood tall.
A top-notch mini-bar stocked with an array of beverages and snacks stood against one wall, offering indulgent treats for your enjoyment. Outside, a small patio beckoned with comfortable chairs, providing the perfect spot to sip a refreshing drink and soak in the breathtaking views of the surrounding lagoon.
The best part of the room was the cooler filled with champagne and wine. Along with the rose petals sprinkled over the tiny kitchenette counter.
“Nice,” Natasha sighed as she stepped into the bedroom area of the bungalow. “Bed-sharing.”
“I know so cliche,” You shook your head as you grabbed a bottle of water from the mini-fridge.
Natasha rolled her eyes playfully at your comment, her lips curling into a small smirk. "Well, we're committed to selling the whole 'newlywed' vibe, aren't we?" she quipped, her tone laced with sarcasm.
You chuckled, nodding in agreement as you twisted the cap off the water bottle. "Exactly. It's all about authenticity," you replied, taking a sip before gesturing towards the inviting bed. "Shall we test it out?"
“Test it out?” Natasha raised a brow.
“Must I be the beauty and the brains in this relationship?” You mumbled.
Natasha chuckled softly. "Careful, or you might bruise your delicate ego," she teased. "But sure, why not? It's been a long day." She walked over to the bed and flopped down onto it, letting out a content sigh.
“You’re lying on the bed with your outside clothes?” You asked incredulously.
“What? You said test it out?” Natasha frowned.
"Fair enough," You conceded, walking over to the bed and gingerly sitting down beside her. "But you're still breaking all the rules of hotel etiquette."
“I think we’ll survive,” Natasha closed her eyes. She needed a few minutes to process.
“It’s so boring already,” You groaned as you began to look through the drawers beside the bed.
Natasha sighed, a hint of irritation in her voice. "Can't you sit still for a moment?"
You shrugged nonchalantly, continuing to rummage through the drawers. "I'm just trying to find something to pass the time. Being cooped up in this room isn't exactly thrilling."
Natasha rolled her eyes, her patience wearing thin. "Well, try to contain yourself. We're here for a mission, not a vacation. Also, we’ve been here all of five minutes."
“Five minutes that I could have been in a bikini in the sun,” You said in a ‘duh’ tone. “Sun’s out bun’s out as they say.”
“Are you sure you don’t have ADHD?” Natasha began to ask as she squinted her eyes. Was she analyzing you?
“What are you a psychiatrist? I thought that was my cover,” You rolled your eyes.
"Who says I can't dabble in multiple professions? Besides, it's not exactly rocket science to see that you're a bit on edge like all the time,” Natasha pointed out.
You raised an eyebrow skeptically. "Is that your professional diagnosis?"
"Consider it a layman's observation," She replied with a grin.
“Well, how about we observe someone by the pool? Come on Tasha,” You whined.
“I thought I said no nicknames,” Natasha growled.
“It’s not a nickname it’s just a shortening of your name,” You shrugged. “Also, you told me not to call you honey or baby. Nowhere did you say I couldn’t call you Tasha.”
Natasha's expression hardened, her eyes narrowing. "Semantics."
You grinned mischievously. "Exactly."
She shook her head. "Let's just go observe by the pool, alright?"

"So, what's your husband like?" Your coworker Juliette asked, sitting in a circle with your other colleague Anaïs, passing around a box of assorted chocolates.
It had been three months. You and Nikolai had successfully infiltrated Mersault, getting more information about the space-creating ability and honing in on potential ability users. Now you were alone, working for the government's IT department--your goal was to create a breach in their database for Fyodor to get into, so he could narrow down the Decay of Angel's targets and get their information.
Anaïs scowled and gave you the chocolates, muttering a word about how she was "low-sugar" before she primped her hair, preparing to brag, "Well, y'know, Louis takes me shopping and buys me new jewelry whenever I want. He just got me a new puppy, too, and he's the cutest little pomeranian!" You giggled a bit as Juliet pouted in envy, "Oh--and he's taking this weekend off, so we can go to the islands together!" You popped a caramel-filled square in your mouth as Juliet rolled her eyes playfully.
"You spoiled princess...Antoine spends all his money on the kids--plus he only gets one weekend off a month and always brings them to our romantic date nights..." Your coworker sighed dramatically, pretending like she wasn't equally as doting over her children, whose pictures and handmade gifts were all around her cubicle.
Ah, children, families, frequent romantic dates, marriage...those were all traditional things you gave up after running away with Nikolai.
You were lost in your thoughts as you popped another rich candy into your mouth--this one being filled with a creamy pistachio ganache that tasted a bit too artificial and made you cringe. Juliette called your name to snap you out of your daze.
"Well, what about you? What's your husband like?" She leaned forward and stared curiously at you, waiting for you to share your little gossip. You chewed slowly, trying to process the question as Anaïs nudged her friend's side lightly.
"Juliette, are you blind?! The girl doesn't have a ring on her finger--certainly she must have a man though--I mean look at her--she's a stunner." Your eyes widened at that as you twirled your wig hair and fixed your fake disguise glasses.
"Oh, well, Anaïs is right, I do have a...lover." Lover...you and Nikolai had never really put an official label on your relationship. You described Nikolai--dubbed as "Nikolas"--to the two other women, trying to stay as true as possible while not revealing his true identity.
Juliet winked at you, "Do you guys have sex? Is he rough, soft, kinky?" She giggled as Anaïs side-eyed her for her childish behavior.
You blushed, well, at least you could answer this question in earnest, "Yeah...he's good...really good." You covered your face briefly, feeling heat in your cheeks when you remembered your little Mersault moments. "But we haven't done anything in a while since he's away on a...work trip." You smiled sadly at that, despite missions being the new norm, you couldn't deny feeling lonely and missing Nikolai constantly.
"Ohhhhh?" Juliette and Anaïs exchanged coy looks, "You need that man to marry you before he leaves you...trust me, darling, I would know." Anaïs said, touching up her lipstick, "You wouldn't want to get knocked up and left alone, would you? Men are too unfaithful these days..."
Yeah, you knew all about that first hand.
You were about to interject until you supervisor knocked on the wall of the space you three were having lunch in. "Lunch break's over. Get back to work, ladies." You all got up slowly, and you held onto the box of chocolates, offering some pieces to Juliette before taking it back to your work desk and putting your headset on.
"You shouldn't eat so many chocolates, ptichka, you'll get a sugar crash." You straightened your back suddenly upon hearing the sultry, russian man's voice in your headset. Fyodor. He usually gave you instructions privately to hack into the system, but he normally only talked to you for mission purposes.
Rolling your eyes, you popped a sweet milk chocolate heart into your mouth, "Hush, I'm stressed. And how did you know? Are you watching me or something?" You looked up by the ceilings to glare into the nearby security cameras.
Fyodor only laughed on the other side. "Oh, milaya, I'm always watching you." Shivers ran down your spine as his voice faded out and you were back to staring at your log-in screen.
˚₊‧꒰ა ☆ ໒꒱ ‧₊˚
You waved goodbye to your coworkers as greeted Ivan--your personal chauffeur--and stepped into the backseat of the car, staring out the tinted window. The car was stopped at a red light when you noticed an animated billboard broadcasting a clip of the news. It was your parents and your in-laws begging for any information about you or your husband's disappearances and the award for either of your safe returns. While that didn't bother you at first--after all, your parents just saw you as a pawn they could marry away for a sound investment, and your in-laws didn't treat you much better either--you couldn't help but feel some remorse from their desperate pleas.
You knew what had happened to your husband--you and Nikolai had killed him. As much as you didn't want to admit it, his death was starting to haunt you. The eerie silence after you'd pulled the trigger and the horrible state he was in before replayed in your dreams, and it didn't help that your lover wasn't there to comfort you anymore. Especially now that Sigma was busy managing the Sky Casino, and you had to work your 9-5 office job, you really had no one to talk to openly. No one...except for Fyodor.
"Welcome back, milashka." Fyodor greeted you as you slipped off your heels upon entering the base. You smiled awkwardly at him, freeing your hair from the wig and slipping your glasses back into your purse. "How was work today?"
"Good...as always...you would know that, though since you're always watching me." You teased, still a bit shaken by what he'd said.
Despite how cold and reluctant he was towards you at first, you'd somehow gotten closer since it was basically just you two at the base. He'd held up his promise and gave you plenty of books to read, so you often talked about literature, which usually lead to deeper conversations. Additionally, although he never addressed you by your name like Sigma, he started giving you russian pet names--some of which were uncannily similar to the ones Nikolai would call you. You tried not to pay it much mind--it was probably some weird power dynamic thing--but you couldn't help but notice how he hid the nicknames and subtle flirting around Nikolai.
Fyodor motioned towards the small table by the fireplace, "I made some tea. Would you care to join me, ptichka? He smirked as you sighed and sat down next to him--you swore the chairs were closer than usual. You pulled the box of chocolates out of your purse and set them down next to a blue and white porcelain tea cup. You poured yourself some black tea before taking another chocolate, this one being filled with strawberry cream. You sulked after seeing a drawing of a happy family on the box, drawing Fyodor's attention. "Is anything on your mind, milaya? You seem bothered."
You eyed him curiously, surprised that he cared to listen to you. You figured you needed to get it off your chest, though, so you opened up, "Well...it's just that I've been alone lately with Nikolai gone, and I've been feeling like maybe this life isn't exactly for me..." You trailed off, a bit panicked when you saw a blank, stoic look on Fyodor's face. You put your hands up defensively, "N-not like I don't want to be a part of the Decay of Angels anymore, but just that I want more out of my life in the future."
Fyodor crossed his legs and rested his chin on his hand, gazing down at you, intrigued, "Go on."
You gulped, "I get so jealous when my coworkers talk about their families and settling down, going on fun vacations, or having daily board game nights...How they can speak so freely about their lives, while I have to live a lie and walk past my missing posters every day...I-I don't have anyone to come home to anymore, either..." You could feel tears start to cloud your vision as you looked down, never speaking this passionately before. You were sure you looked pathetic.
Your eyes widened as you felt Fyodor's frail fingers come up to wipe away your tears and brush across your cheek before landing on top of your hands. They were cold, not as warm as Nikolai's but at least somewhat comforting.
"Perhaps it isn't a different lifestyle you crave, but a sense of belonging and security." Fyodor started, bringing his face a bit closer to yours. "Your heart desires a deeper connection with those around you. After all, you abandoned everyone you knew before and suddenly went into an entirely different life. It's only normal that you would feel distressed after a while. You need comfort--and I'm sure that some part of you wants to give your parents some closure about your disappearance."
Fyodor was being...sympathetic? It was almost scary how well he could describe what you were feeling, along with how surprisingly empathetic he acted. You had quickly learned that he had little regard for others or for defective subordinates.
You looked up at him, "It's not just that, though. Even though it's selfish, I want Nikolai to marry me--or at least make things more serious and clear between us..." You didn't notice Fyodor slightly frowning at that as you continued, "He's just been away for so long, and it's not like I don't trust him, but he really has no obligation to stay loyal to me, and I've already been cheated on before...There's no way I can fall in love with another man being a double agent, so I need to know if he plans on us being long-term or not..." Rambling out the rest of your feelings, Fyodor stroked your hand slowly, his smug smile returning on his face.
"You should tell him that, then. If you speak from your heart and tell him the truth, I'm sure he'll listen to you. After all, he'd fulfill your desires if he really loved you." You pouted.
"But it's Nikolai...at the end of the day, he lives by his own convictions and philosophy."
Fyodor clicked his tongue, "If he loved you, he'd compromise." You weren't quite convinced, but you flinched when he brought your hand up and placed a soft kiss to the back of your hand. "Good luck, milashka." As soon as it happened, he was gone as he dismissed himself and left you alone at the table. You didn't know how to think or process the conversation as you lightly slapped away the faint blush across your cheeks.
˚₊‧꒰ა ☆ ໒꒱ ‧₊˚
Another long day of work had concluded as you wished your coworkers a good weekend and walked out the door. It had been two weeks since your conversation with Fyodor, but it was all that was on your mind. You really needed to talk to Nikolai soon.
Wait. Was that Ivan...holding a bouquet of flowers? Not just any flowers either--they were the same lavender roses you'd been gifted by your ex-patient in the asylum courtyard.
Ivan only gave you his usual twisted smile and laughter before handing you the bouquet as you shot him a questioning look. You muttered a quiet "thank you" as you got into the backseat and stared out the window again, smelling the fragrant roses and replaying Fyodor's words in your head.
It didn't hit you that the road you were traveling on was unfamiliar until the car suddenly came to a stop, and you realized you were in an abandoned alleyway. Uneasiness started to settle in as your driver exited his seat, shutting the car door behind him. "Iv--"
You were interrupted when the door to the backseat flung open and closed as Ivan crawled on top of you, pushing the flowers out of your hands as he pushed his body against yours and cradled into your neck, hysterically giggling. "I-Ivan--" You struggled to shove him off you, but he was too strong, "W-what are you---"
A familiar scent stopped you from speaking as your heartbeat increased. Wait, was that--?
Ivan pulled away from your neck before tugging off his bandages, his whole appearance suddenly fading away before being replaced by...
"K-Kolya! I-It's you!" Relief washed over your face as you looked up to see your lover staring back at you, clearly satisfied from whatever prank he'd just played on you. He kissed away the tears that had formed instinctively from your fear while laughing maniacally.
"Hehe~ Did you miss me, dove? I wanted to surprise you since I just came back. Your reactions were a nice little treat~" You pouted as you looked away, embarrassed that you'd lost yet another one of Nikolai's mini games. His features softened, "I'm afraid I may have gone a bit too far though. I really missed you, myla." His warm, gloved fingers traced over your bottom lip slowly.
"M-missed you too, Kolya. So much..." You sniffled as you pulled his head down to yours, tangling your fingers into his fluffy white hair and capturing his lips in a deep kiss. Your back pushed into the car cushions as Nikolai's hands roamed your body, needy to touch you again after so long--especially since he couldn't contact you. He fumbled with the buttons on your thick coat, hands working fast to get you out of all of your layers.
He groaned into the kiss as you tugged on his locks and wrapped your legs around his waist to press him further against you. By now, he had unbuttoned your light blue blouse to reveal your pretty skin. Nikolai pulled away from the kiss gently to take you in--the sight of you all flustered in just a thin lacy bra was turning him on, evident from his growing arousal that was pushing against your tights.
"Fuck, dove, you're so beautiful..." He dipped back to leave messy hickeys on your neck, whispering in your ear before slowly working his way down, "Your skin's so soft...were you touching yourself while I was away, pryntsesa?" You moaned at that, whining when his hand starting rubbing circles from your hips to your inner thigh, getting dangerously close. The trail of wet kisses traveled down your collarbone and your breasts to your stomach and eventually stopping where the waistband of your black skirt and tights laid. He was panting lightly at this point, devoid of air from worshipping your body. "It wasn't enough, though, was it? You need me to feel good, myla~" He heaved, his face pink and strands of hair falling over his eyes. His fingers hooked around your clothes and he resumed his trail of kisses, about to strip you.
"If he loved you, he'd compromise."
Fyodor's words hit you as you stopped Nikolai, lightly pushing yourself up again. "W-wait, Nikolai, I want to talk to you about something." He grunted, annoyed like a little kid, his bulge still pressing against you.
"Can it wait? I didn't bring you to this abandoned, sketchy alley for nothing, ptashka." You pulled away further, to his disappointment, and pulled your knees up against your body, pouting sadly.
"I know, but it's something that's been on my mind since you've been gone", Nikolai only sighed impatiently as you pleaded, "I promise it won't take too long..." You put your hand over Nikolai's, and he obliged reluctantly, sitting up a small distance away from you.
"Cockblocker...make it quick." He muttered, and you tried not to be immature and giggle. This was supposed to be a serious conversation.
You cleared your throat, "Well, I was just wondering about us...and our relationship..." You flinched when you saw Nikolai's eyes bore into you, "I-It's not what you think---I love you and want to stay with you, but, are we..." You trailed off, suddenly feeling embarrassed and unsure about what to say next. You looked down, mind a muddled mess, but you tried to remember Fyodor's advice.
"A-are we ever going to get married? Settle down and maybe start a family? Move somewhere nice and peaceful, where we can just enjoy each other's company?" Your mind went back to Anaïs and her husband, as you slowly started to look back up, "Go on a vacation together to the islands? Or your home coun--"
"No." Nikolai's dark gaze cut into you, stopping you from speaking any further. "Why would you want that, dove?"
You could feel your heart shattering. This wasn't how you thought he would respond. He was supposed to understand you, to listen to you, to compromise.
"I want a future with you, Kolya, that's why..." You started sadly, throat feeling constricted.
"But we're already together right now, myla. Isn't that enough for you?" Nikolai replied apathetically, his expression stoic and unreadable.
"It's--but my husband cheated on me, so I have to know if you're serious about us. I don't want to be in an unstable relationship anymore." Tears pricked your eyes, threatening to spill out as you could feel your heart breaking, "Anyways, you could just cheat on me, too. You're barely even around anymore, and I'm sure that you're always surrounded by beautiful women...All my coworkers are already married and in a happy relationship, so I feel so behind..."
"Oh, so that's why? Because society's telling you to live that way? Because you want to be accepted and imitate everyone else? That's the exact life I was trying to escape from, dove." Nikolai butted back, smiling cruelly.
"N-no! That's not--" You cried out, not being able to hold in the tears. Nikolai frowned and looked up from your face, reaching up towards your head.
"That hat? When did you get that?" He glared up at the white ushanka on your head. It resembled a certain someone's too closely.
You sniffled, "T-this? It's a gift from Fyodor. 'Cause it's getting cold out." Nikolai furrowed his brows in jealously upon hearing that name.
"From Dos...he's the one who planted those ideas in your head, didn't he?" His fists tightened at the thought of Fyodor wrapping you around his finger; it was his specialty, after all.
You wiped your tears sadly as you lowly shook your head no. At this point, Fyodor seemed to be the only one who understood you. He was the one who'd told you that Nikolai would compromise if he loved you. But he didn't. Did that mean...?
"Tch. Look, myla, stay away from that man. Dos may be my friend, but I don't trust him." Seeing your sad face and lack of response angered him more and he raised his voice a bit, "Stop talking to him, dove. I'm warning you--don't you dare even look in his direction."
Your sobbing resumed as you pulled your head back into your knees, hearing the backdoor shut as Nikolai left and started driving back to the base. You heard the sound of rain in the background as you clutched the white ushanka in your arms, the fluffy hat offering you some comfort.
The ride back was silent.
˚₊‧꒰ა ☆ ໒꒱ ‧₊˚
Fyodor awaited you both when you finally arrived back at the base, the same sly smile on his face. "Welcome back, you two." Nikolai only glared back, holding your hand tightly. He let go suddenly and walked past Fyodor into his stone room, implying for him to follow suit.
Once Nikolai's back was turned away, Fyodor gave you a soft, concerned glance. Your nose and eyes were swollen and red from all the crying. "I'm guessing it didn't go well, milashka?" You shook your head softly, and he whispered about leaving some cookies and tea in your room. He tried to approach you, but a strong voice cut him off.
"Dos, let's talk." Nikolai menacingly called out, crossing his arms and leaning against the doorway. You'd never seen him this stern or angry before. He never took anything seriously, certainly you weren't an exception, right?
Fyodor shot you one last empathetic look and went into his room. You shuddered as the sound of Nikolai slamming the door and immediately yelling loudly bounced off the walls. As much as you wanted to eavesdrop, you were worn out and tired.
You retreated to your and Nikolai's shared room slowly, too exhausted to even try the tea and cookies Fyodor had thoughtfully left for you. You barely stripped off your disguise before crashing onto the bed, just wanting the day to be over.
Things with Nikolai could never go back to normal again. You wished you'd just kept your mouth shut, but you also wished Nikolai had been more open to your desires. What were you to him, anyways? And you didn't understand why he was so mad at Fyodor. He'd kept you company while Nikolai was gone, and he'd been nothing but respectful and attentive.
You groaned and tried to shut your eyes to drown out the conflicting thoughts in your head. Everything was way too complicated now. You wished things could be peaceful again. You wished you could escape.
˚₊‧꒰ა ☆ ໒꒱ ‧₊˚
"You want to go back home, ptichka?" Fyodor asked. You nodded in response. The next day, Nikolai was gone on another mission, never coming to your shared bed the night before or saying goodbye to you before leaving.
The russian man sighed, "That's a bad idea. You'll get caught before you know it, and once the press gets a hold of you, it'll be hard to rescue you. Plus you still have your job that could arouse suspicion."
"I know..." You started. "I just...have some amends to make...and I'll only be gone for a day or two...and stay in disguise." Liar. You didn't know why you wanted to go back, and if you were homesick or just trying to self-sabotage yourself. Either way, you knew you couldn't stay here and look at Fyodor or Nikolai any longer. Things were too tense, and you didn't know who was genuinely there for you or just manipulating you.
You couldn't trust either of them. Your plan was to either go back and get caught for your crimes or retreat to the Sky Casino for as long as possible. You bet that Sigma didn't like or trust the two men either.
Not to mention, you'd already left Nikolai a parting text, writing,
"I'm sorry. I'll always love you, Kolya. Thank you."
Not that you even knew if he'd see it, but you still wanted to say something.
"I'll help you." Fyodor finally said, making your eyes widen in surprise. "But I want to tell you something first." He took your hands and held them, running his thumb over your fingers. His touch was cold. "I admire you for wanting to confront your feelings and follow your heart. The rest of us have forgotten such feelings of humanity." He continued, "To see such a lovely, well-read woman like you leave pains me. I'll truly miss you and our intellectual conversations, milaya. So much so that I'll be awaiting your safe return."
You blushed as he kissed your gentle hands, "T-thank you, Fyodor, I'm flattered." Lying again, but you figured you would have to use your 'feminine charm' a bit to fully convince him.
He smirked subtly, "Escaping from another man's cage of lofty ideals and freedom into the outside world...Would you care to do me one last favor, milashka?" You nodded with doe eyes as he leaned into your ear.
"Give me a goodbye kiss." Shocked and flustered, you pulled away and broke contact.
Fyodor only stepped forward and held your face, his soft smile seeming more sinister now, "What's wrong, dove, you just have to kiss me, and I'll help you escape. Not a bad deal, no?" He got dangerously close to you, his hot breath fanning over your glossy lips.
You froze for a second, "I-I can't--" Fyodor only traced your lips ominously, like he was taunting you and asking you why.
"I'm still in love with Niko--"
"Dove? Dos?" Your heartbeat stopped when you heard your lover's voice behind you. Why was he here, and how'd he get here so fast?
You turned around, hoping he would save you, until you saw him holding a gun--the same one he used on your husband.
"Kolya, w-wait, this isn't..." You stopped talking when you heard the gun cock. There was no way you could explain your way out of this. You and Fyodor were just about to kiss, and you were trying to escape indefinitely.
Nikolai narrowed his eyes and pointed the gun at Fyodor, "This was your doing, wasn't it?" Fyodor only remained calm, however, and twirled a strand of your hair while smirking.
"No, quite the opposite actually. Our little dove here was just about to escape and go back home to 'make amends'. It seems like she may still be grieving over her husband and their traditional life together..." Nikolai's grip on his gun tightened, still pointed at his friend. "Actually, she was just seducing me to help her escape. A goodbye kiss, that's what you wanted, right, ptichka?" Your ex-patient's eyes narrowed after hearing the similar pet name.
He turned to you, "Is he telling the truth, dove?" You were shaking, still trying to process the situation in front of you.
"N-no! I was trying to escape with Fyodor's help, but that's it! I swear, I still love you--please believe me, Kolya!" You pleaded, practically begging for your life. Nikolai looked at you regrettably before removing the card over his right eye and laughing bitterly.
"And here I was, rushing back to see you once I saw your text because I was worried about you and wanted to talk things out properly. I'm quite the fool aren't I, dove?" He started laughing maniacally, scaring you. He then stopped suddenly and pointed the gun at you, "But I guess this decision was from your own free will. I was wrong for thinking you were the same as me..."
Anxiety settling in, you couldn't react. What was Nikolai going on about? Had Fyodor said something to or manipulated him, too?
"We got rid of your husband, but now you want Dos, too? You're aren't really mine, are you, dove?" He walked closer to you and pressed the cold metal barrel to your hip. "I'll be nice and let you play one last game, though~" He had a crazy look in his eyes--one dark and emotionless, and the other streaming tears; you were sure every feeling was spiraling through his brain.
Nikolai giggled as he pushed you out of the door onto the floor. You were about to get up in fear when you heard a shot in the background. Did he shoot Fyodor?
Deranged laughter was heard behind you as Nikolai peeked his head out the door, "Better start running, dove. Otherwise the next shot might hit you~" You backed up in terror, standing up and stumbling over to Nikolai, wrapping your arms around him and crying hysterically.
"K-Kolya, you're s-scaring me. I-I love you, s-so let's go back t-to n-normal." Nikolai paused against your shaky body and lifted your face up to his. Tears were falling out both of his eyes now, contrasting the wicked grin contorting his lips. You gasped as he wiped your eyes and licked away your tears.
"You look so pretty when you cry, angel. I'll give you an extra ten seconds for that. Ten...nine...eight..." Realizing you had no way to convince Nikolai to spare your life, you ran, not daring to look back behind you. The man you loved was gone, driven mad by his obsession over you. Your skin crawled as you heard his voice reverberating through the hallways.
"I thought you loved me, dove, but it seems I wasn't what you wanted. I got too attached to you, though, and you know too much, so it seems I can't just let you go or give you to another man. You won't escape my cage."

Hide-n-Seek
Pairing: Jake Kiszka x Reader Word Count: 3.9 K CW: 18+, minors DNI. (spoilers) fake weapons, tight spaces, alcohol consumption, minor character minor injury, some steaminess, but no smut (in this part). {Author Commentary: Here's my (belated) Halloween party fic! I hope it can offer a pleasant distraction. Here's an 80s/90's music playlist I listened to, to give the party vibes. I still ended up writing myself into a part two, oops. I hope you all find this brief trip (back) in the closet enjoyable. (tell me you laughed.)}
“Because the 80s just understood horror. The 80s were the HIGHT of horror-”
“Josh might argue that with you, but I see the vision…”
You stood next to your friend at her kitchen island, looking out at the gaudy Halloween decor expertly placed in every corner, and along every wall. The atmosphere was made complete by a series of alternating colored lights, and scattered light-up decorations, beaming through the generally dark apartment, -and a booming 80s rock/ballad playlist. It really did feel like a movie.
Because you’d had work that day, you’d arrived a bit later than some, but not the majority. Some friends had arrived early to set up, and others to help each other finish assembling their costumes. The energy was immaculate as you’d strutted in in your costume. The lights were already down, the music loud, and your friends had turned from pouring their drinks in the kitchen to greet you jovially, and squeal in support as you gave a twirl.
A ‘Huntress’ was the title you’d officially given your costume, though it wasn’t based on a particular franchise character, just a high fantasy concept you liked. You’d landed on a long, dark green dress, with high, high slits up both thighs, a fitted bodice, and draped sleeves that hung around your arms in a goddess-esque fashion leaving your shoulders bare. Of course, the key accessory was a faux gold archer’s bow that you wore over your shoulder, cross-body style, and a quiver of arrows ‘-a clever disguise for a purse-’ , all complimented by your smokey metallic eyeshadow, delicate gold hair jewelry, and body chains. You loved Halloween, and your friends knew to expect nothing less than an all-out costume.
You’d joined them in the kitchen to secure your first drink of the night. As you were laughing along and adding a silly eyeball candy and gummy worm garnish to your drink. Another gaggle of people exited the bathroom down the hall. Amid the mixed chatter you heard Jake’s distinctive soft rasp, laughing in mock distress “no, really- I think it’s enough- please let me go free- this outfit doesn’t even require makeup-” and a responding laugh “Yeah, but of all the days to wear makeup- how could you deny me??” Your other friend, a big makeup enthusiast, and nothing short of an artist, followed him down the hall, giving him a playful shove.
The group all ended up in the kitchen, to refresh their drinks. “Oh yay!!” they welcomed your new presence, and you mutually geeked over each others’ costumes. “You two!” The host jokingly huffed, gesturing with her raised glass between you and Jake, who was in the corner, filling a flask he’d pulled from his pocket, avoiding the swarm of welcomes, “Leave it to you two to go the hardest, in your own fucking direction.” You and Jake took in each other’s costumes, laughing along. They were certainly of a similar genre, and in sharp contrast to the general decor.
His knight costume consisted of a shiny silver gorget and pauldrons, adorning his chest and shoulders, and a chainmail mesh top that barely covered his midriff. One of his beloved swords was secured by a leather belt on top of his dark, drapey, high-waisted trousers which were cuffed just over his signature boots. Your eyes made their way back up, smirking again at his midriff, before properly seeing his eyes. They had the faintest smudge of charcoal grey concentrated around his water line, expertly blended out by your friend to be almost unnoticeable, blending seamlessly to the faintest shift of iridescence around his eyes and the highlights of his face. It didn’t even register as makeup, alongside his already distinguished features, and long half-waved hair, it simply enhanced his mystical aura, making him look like a character from a fantasy game.
He grinned after giving you another once over while screwing the top on his flask and slipping it in his pocket.
“Damn, maybe I should’ve let her go full smokey eye on me, if im up against you” He made his way around the kitchen island to properly greet you in a half-hug, careful not to spill the drink in your hand.
“Hmm, are you sure you’d want to compete with me?” You narrowed your eyes in a playfully challenging way.
His smirk twisted to the side before he deftly slipped your drink from your hand and took a sip.
“Mm. Wouldn’t dream of it.”
He returned the drink to you, drying his mustache with his free hand before giving your arm a final squeeze with the other and following the crowd to the living room. You laughed and shook your head, turning back to your friend who was hosting.
“Damn, he’s really dialed up to 11 tonight.” You chuckled, glancing back towards him before making your way to the buffet covered with snacks. Your friend just raised her eyebrows and smirked at your turned back. You stocked up a little plate of snacks before the two of you went to find a comfy seat among your friends in the living room as the apartment filled with people.
Several hours, and many rounds of drinks later, you were sat in an armchair, almost falling over the arm in an enthused conversation with a friend of a friend you had recently bonded with over an underrated album preference ‘-and a decent level of tipsyness.’
You paused as you heard a group of people enthusiastically cheering. You looked up at the group as the host stepped toward the middle of the living room.
“Ok, party people! Who’s ready… for Hide-n-Seek?”
Normally getting a group of adults to play Hide-n-Seek would be a hard sell, but the energy in the room was just right, and loud cheers could be heard from around the apartment. The host announced she’d be seeking first, and that would be starting “riiiigghhhhht.. Now.” with a clap of her hands and som gleeful shrieks, people began darting around. The apartment was nice, thanks to her success in the arts. It had multiple floors, and even guest rooms, perfect for a game like this. You giggled to yourself after waving to the person you’d been talking to and scurrying off to find a spot. You made your way upstairs, as many others had. At the third and final landing, facing down the hallway of the smaller third floor, you saw a double-door closet but walked right by it. ‘Wayyy too obvious.’
You passed a bathroom and heard some muffled giggling. You made your way to the spare bedroom at the end of the hall. You opened it and instantly heard a yelp. You quickly stepped back into the hall, slammed the door closed in front of you, sparing the blur of two people, that had apparently been making out in the room. You backed away from the door, giggling and covering your reddening face. “So sorry!”, you called before making your way back down the hall. The seeker’s countdown was already nearly over, causing you to quickly settle for the closet.
You suddenly realized your drink was still on the coffee table in the living room. However, ywour thoughts of sneaking down to get it were cut short. You heard footsteps climbing the stairs, and you instantly felt crestfallen, knowing it was likely the seeker, and of course, if they came to this floor they’d be checking the closet first. You found yourself holding your breath as the footsteps approached. One of the doors creaked open, and you were ready to let out a defeated groan when a finger pressed softly to your lips. Your eyes widened as a grinning Jake stepped in. He effectively backed you into the other half of the closet as he hastily pulled the door closed behind him. Your brow creased in annoyance as you realized what was happening. You pulled his hand away, removing his shushing finger from your lips as you whispered indignantly;
“Jake, this is my hiding spot.”
“Yeah I’m kinda surprised by that, actually, it seems kinda too obvious to be your first choice…”, he whispered, still grinning at you. You rolled your eyes, “And what? Were you too busy batting your eyelashes at someone to secure a better spot?” you snarked back at him. His eyes narrowed curiously, his smirk remaining.
“I was gonna ask what could’ve possibly stopped you from getting a good spot, but now I’m much more curious about that little statement… Why does the thought of me flirting with someone ruffle your feathers so much?”
Your face reddened, thankfully he couldn’t see it in this lighting, right? You didn’t want to validate his implication with a response.
“Did you at least fill your flask before coming to commandeer my hiding spot?”
He smiled at you devilishly, reaching into his pants pocket and pulling it out. He unscrewed the top before handing it to you.
“How chivalrous” You took a sip, your eyes taking him in before meeting his smirk with a challenging one. “Tell me, was it customary for knights to wear eyeliner?”
“Hazards of the side gig,” he joked, “something of a habit I picked up on the last tour… and a lot of warriors historically wore face markings and stuff…”
He unsheathed his prop sword, resting the dulled tip on the floor, striking a knightly pose; chin held high, his lips pursed slightly in the same way they often did when he was playing, and his chest puffed exaggeratedly. You giggled slightly, covering your own mouth to stifle it.
He smiled down at you, satisfied that he’d made you laugh. He let his eyes run down you slowly in the dim light.
“And for …Archers…?”
You were about to correct him but you inhaled abruptly as he skimmed the cool flat side of the blade along the exposed side of your upper thigh.
“Is this… ‘customary’?” His voice was still low and soft as his eyes trailed the tip of the blade.
You swallowed, looking down at the blade. His eyes flitted to yours. “It’s a prop sword, it’s not sharp, you can touch it.” He assured you. You hadn’t been worried about that, but still, the invitation intrigued you. You reached down and lifted the the tip of the sword, experimentally pressing the pad of your thumb to the thin, but inevitably dull edge.
“Hmh.”
You lifted it to your eye line, inspecting the dulled tip before pressing the pad of your thumb over it.
“Careful now…” His voice was hushed and deep. His warm hand rested over yours, gently prying your fingers off the blade. He chuckled at you as his other hand sheathed his sword. You retrieved your hand, clearing your throat as you adjusted the string of your bow.
“Just had to verify, I do have the superior weapon.” You shrugged one shoulder matter-of-factly.
“Pardon?” He raised an eyebrow at you, tilting his head in a challenging manner.
You smirked, deciding to push it. “Not just in prop form, either. Swords have no range, they’re only good if you want to walk right up to your opponent.”
“And what’s that bow gonna do for you when there’s someone right in front of you?”
The two of you had grown closer, “Hmh, I don’t know, I’m pretty good with my hands. …And legs.” Your leg swung around to playfully hook the back of your calf around his. To your surprise his warm, calloused hand caught your leg under the knee, hiking it up so your leg hooked around his hip. The silky fabric of your skirt slid back, parting fully and leaving your entire upper thigh exposed. You’d reached for him as your balance wavered. One of your hands had grasped the back of his neck, the other landing on his waist -half of your palm met the fine chainmail, half met his warm, soft skin. He was already holding you steady though. His other arm had wrapped around you, holding the small of your back.
“Jake- ‽” you gasped in surprise.
Your faces are now inches apart. The sound of each other's breaths become the only audible thing. A streak of golden orange light from between the double doors illuminated a segment of his face; a fanned dark eyelash, a golden streak in his deep brown iris, the peak in the bridge of his nose, and the seemingly permanent upward curl in the corner of his full lips.
“fuck-” it escaped you in a hushed exhale, though not for entirely the same reason you'd previously been whispering. Jake's head tilted ever so slightly as he took in your reaction. You gathered your wits before he could open his mouth to say anything.
“Jake. We’d be heard.” -‘Certainly not a circumstance you'd ever thought you'd have to voice that sentiment to someone.’
His smile widened, as you confirmed what you’d been considering. He pivoted smoothly till your back was pressed against the back wall of the surprisingly shallow closet. As he leaned in to speak close to your ear the side of his face brushed yours, so, so, tantalizingly.
“You don’t think you could stay quiet? Is that all you’re worried about?”
As he spoke lowly, his thumb began trailing back and forth across your thigh. A suppressed but undeniably desperate whine sounded from you.
“If I recall,” his hand had started gliding up the back of your thigh, “you’re particularly competitive…” his grip tightened slightly, gripping the fullest part of your thigh, “and you love a challenge…”
His words trailed off as he inhaled your scent and slowly exhaled, his warm breath cascading down your neck. Your hand that had held the back of his neck now found his jaw. You urgently lifted his head so you could finally press your lips to his. God, his lips were like nirvana, full and soft, and fervently melding with yours as he kissed you.
Your hand gripped his side, pressing the chainmail into his skin momentarily before you adjusted your grip to sink your nails into the lush curve of his waist unobstructed. He hummed against your lips as his hips pressed harder into yours. Your bow pressed sharply into your upper back but didn’t register as a problem. His hand that was still resting on your lower back kept it from the wall, furthering the sweet pressure of his hips against yours.
You’d just pulled your lips from his to take a desperate breath when suddenly a tumbling crash and an obscene exclamation came from the stairs.
You both jumped apart as your heads whipped around. By the sound of it, someone had fallen down the top flight of stairs. Instinctively you both stepped through the doors to go help your friend. As you peered down the stairs, the bathroom and bedroom doors down the hall both opened and your friends poured out of their hiding spots to see what had happened.
You and Jake had made your way to the landing, urgently attempting to assist your friend who’d landed on the second floor. A gaggle of people had gathered around as they’d made their way up and down the respective staircases to the landing. Several voices called out asking what had happened, and if everyone was ok. Someone had paused the music so you called out “It’s ok, we’ve got her.” Your friend had tried waving you off saying it wasn’t bad, that she’d just slipped on a portion of the string lights that were woven between the balusters. You refused, asserting that you were going to get her some ice as soon as she got downstairs. After she’d stood up and waivered from a clear pain in her ankle, Jake eventually convinced her to let him help her down the stairs.
You watched him shift his belt so his sword was out of the way and he stooped to lift her -her arm around his shoulder, and her legs draped across his arm. He made his way slowly and steadily down the stairs. The colored lights glinted off the armor still adorning his shoulders, and his hair that fluttered behind him as he descended. ‘He really is a knight in shining armor…’. You snapped back to reality as you all got to the ground floor and Jake swiftly turned towards the couch. You headed to the kitchen and got a soft ice pack before hurrying back to the living room. Jake had set her on the couch and she was chatting and giggling with the people gathering around.
The crowd parted for you and gradually people dispersed to other areas of the room as the music started up again and the party resumed. You knelt by the couch, gingerly resting the pack on her ankle. You looked at her and shook your head with a light laugh. “Do you have an ace bandage or something? This is gonna need some compression unless you want your ankle to swell up. ” She sighed exasperatedly, not one to accept doting. “Yeah, it’s in the bathroom cabinet.” You glanced over your shoulder at Jake, who’d stepped aside for you to apply the ice pack. “Can you grab it? And an aspirin or aleve or something.” Jake nodded and headed off.
When you looked back at your friend her eyes were locked on you. Knowingly. She broke out into giggles as you looked around curiously.
“You know… I wouldn’t judge if the two of you wanted to slip out early.”
“--What?” You practically spluttered.
“You. And Jake.” She stated she stated with a self-assured grin.
The question of how she knew formed on your face, but before you could ask she pointed to your thigh. “It left a mark.” You looked down and saw a wide pink stripe across your exposed thigh, mirroring where Jake’s sheath had pressed into it while you were against the wall. Your face instantly heated up.
“That and the tension is THICK, tonight, like even worse than usual.”
“Usual?”
She gave you a deadpan look before chuckling again. Jake had returned with an ankle wrap, a bottle of painkillers, and a cup. “Here we are.” He handed the wrap to you with a quick smile before handing her the cup and opening the bottle, beginning to shake two pills into the cap. “Ooh, a drink?” she took it before looking into the cup and frowning. Jake just chuckled “That’s called water.” You chuckled as you gently wrapped her ankle, and secured the end. She took the pills from the cap in his outstretched hand and downed them with the water before holding the cup up to him “Now can you get us a real drink, pretty please?”
He pursed his lips, glancing at you. You nodded and he bowed his head with a pursed smirk. “Alright, what d’you each want?” “Something strong, whatever inspires you when you get to the kitchen,” she waved him off as he chuckled and shook his head, heading for the kitchen.
The moment he was out of earshot she locked in on you again. “I’m serious, you should give it a chance. I’ll be fiiinnne. I’ll find someone to help me to bed, -you should have him help you to bed- ” You scoffed and swatted her leg as she giggled. “Uegh, that was bad.” “Yeah, yeah, …but you’re thinking about it.” You sighed exaggeratedly. She reached for your hand and gave it a squeeze. “He’s a good one. Gallant. Noble.“, you both giggled before she continued in a genuine tone, ”And not just as a knight. I’ve known him a while, this isn’t even the first time he’s saved my ass. If you’re interested, you should go for it.” You chewed on your lip as Jake rounded the corner of the couch. He handed your friend her drink, then you yours, smiling down at you.
“How’s our patient?”
You couldn’t help but smile back at him. Your friend’s knee nudged you and your eyes snapped back to see hers smirking over her cup at you as she took a sip. You took a gulp of your drink -strong but sweet, perfectly blended as usual- and stood off the couch.
“She’ll be fine.”
You took Jake’s hand and abruptly started towards the door. You could hear your friend giggling into her cup. He fell into step with you without question, despite the slight bewilderment in his face.
“-Where…?”
“We’re leaving.“
“Oh- good.”
You set your cup on a random surface as you grabbed your bag from the hooks in the front hall. You turned to see Jake taking a large black corduroy jacket from the front hall closet. He curled a finger around the string of your bow. “May I…?” You nodded and ducked your head as he lifted it up and off of you. You held it as he placed his jacket around your shoulders. Your eyes gleamed up at him as he straightened the collar.
“Did you drive here or-?”
“Yep.” he nodded.
“And are you…?”
He chuckled, “Yeah, I’m good to drive.”
As he closed the passenger door behind you, you marveled at the car’s interior. ‘It’s definitely vintage…’. The seats were black and teal leather, bench-style -‘maybe a Mustang, or a Camero…’. The back door on his side opened, startling you. Jake leaned in, placing his armor in the back seat. “Just me,” he reassured, “want to put that back here?”. He held out a hand for your bow, and you nodded, handing it to him.
As soon as he settled in the driver’s seat and pulled his own door closed, you leaned over, holding the side of his face and kissing him urgently. He kissed you back, and you felt him smile against your lips. His hand turned the key and the motor rattled to life. A soft rock ballad started from the radio as he lifted his hand to mirror yours, gently cupping the side of your face. You shrugged off his coat, as the car started warming up significantly. His kiss was slow and sweet, even as you shifted to face him more fully, kneeling on the seat next to him.
You pulled away, resting your forehead against his.
“Mine? Or yours? Or we could just find somewhere to par-?”
“Taco Bell?”
“What?” you pulled back slightly, giggling at his suggestion.
“Are you hungry at all?”, he offered, "I’m happy to sleep at either of ours, I just thought I’d get something to eat before we head home.” His free hand stroked your upper arm as he waited for your response. You deflated slightly as it registered.
“You don’t want to…”
“Of course I want you,” his thrumb stroked your cheek, “but you’re drunk, darling. You don’t want it like this, trust me.”
“Why’d you agree to leave with me then?”
“Well, I’d still like to hang out with you… but if you want to be dropped off, or you want to go back into the party, that’s obviously fine too.”
You considered for a moment. Being away from the loud music and colored lights of the party atmosphere, you were acutely more aware of just how much the alcohol had caught up with you.
“...Are tacos still on the table?” you met his eyes again.
He nodded “Of course.”
You grinned at each other before you leaned in and pecked his lips again.
“...and a sleepover?”, you asked quietly.
“I’d love to.” He placed a soft kiss on your cheek.

July CPNs round-up ❤️💛💚
• xz as backing vocals for the song everything is lovely
• clowning about screen protectors
• both of their names together on hs for being posted by xinhua news agency
• same city in Beijing on 7/6 - there was some talk that xz’s flight out has been changed to the 12th, probably to spend more time with wyb who will leave on the 10th. which didn’t happen cause wyb left 7/8 but still got to to spend that time together. some were clowning about how his airport shirt had a crease on it & how that made it seem like it was folded like how xz does it so ya know, is it a sign? lol.
• 7/10 XZS paris vlog clowning: posting so close to yibo’s appearances and similar shots // the two bros focused in the video, paris olympics and torchbearer route.
• 7/12 XZS vlog - possibly texting wyb and little prince figures + snowy mountain ; jacques tati films bgm used
• 7/14 xzs vlog clues! more symbolism and that goose laugh
• walking in the streets of paris
• similarity between tao and yibo showing off a photo of their significant other
• continuing on with the off white with “painting” shirts that xz wears, which is already strike 3 && kind of proves the sdc 3 clowning. he wore this during his off work hours. ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️
it follows the pattern 👀👀👀
• 7/15 xzs vlog clowning continues - same place different time / confirmation of the bystander lyrics connection and E142 cue
• NOT TOTALLY CPN BUT ME BEING EMOTIONAL. LOL. SEEING YIBO do that torch really in that simple outfit everyone was wearing. mostly bare faced and all eyes on him. that moment — and then you see him wearing that bome necklace makes me go somft. 🥹🥹🥹🥹 he will go to so many places and experience a lot of things but he will always have a piece of xz with him.
some are getting excited about them with silver jewelry necklace but xz’s is boucheron which he is endorsing. as much as i love jewelry cpns, i always get picky when it’s something they endorse, unless there is an additional clue. but i understand why people got 👀 when they saw that silver chain with GG. unfortunately, this is not the necklace we think it is.
another one is this “couple” / same style jacket they both wore when they went abroad. RBS already explained this and i totally agree with their stand on it. i guess what makes this cpn-y to me is the “style” it, showing how their preferences overlap in clothing. and that’s why we think they have a “shared closet”.
<< previous post
• On 7/19, the booting ceremony of XZ’s new film DeXian JinZhi, the cast was revealed and we learned that Yin Zheng is there. Yin Zheng is WYB’s very close friend, so we will definitely keep an eye out on how he will interact with XZ 😂😂😂😂 and oh, Peng Yucheng is also there! who is Bobo’s friend and someone he fake kissed HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! so many common friends!
• some minor cpns from xzs 7/20 vlog + something i forgot to add, same acne studios plain shirt. HAHAHAHAHA! twinning! 👯♀️
• xz vlogs appear to be countdowns 🤔🤔🤔
• BJYX related hs on them speaking goose language! HAHAHAHAHA! we shall remain relevant forever!
• what a nice magazine! our boys! side by side! and it’s like a fanfic cover for pairing wei ruolai and chunsheng!
• them posting for public welfare and in support of the olympics for CCTV ( here and here ) also with mengniu’s short film. i love seeing them supporting the same thing and hopefully they get to collab someday for a common cause 🌎 if there is any type of project they can work together, this may be it, cause fans can’t even be outwardly toxic especially if it’s a government project.
• 7/26/2024 xzs vlog candies
• 7/28 coco crush posts clowning
• 7/29 throwback video uploaded by rufeng
• 7/30 XZS vlog clowning time: dancing like wang laoshi, possible mv for bystander and wonderful world lyrics.
plus some more ⬇️⬇️⬇️
ohhhhh. a snowy mountain or is it? i mean who wouldn’t be taken by that and especially someone like xz. love how he took pictures of it and drew it too. in the post by xzs it’s in the c-position, probably cause it’s drawn by xz but also it’s photo #5/18 WYB.
p3 is also our colors! green (ish), red and yellow!
SEE YOU ALL NEXT MONTH!!!!!

MORE Spider Society Headcanons
Halloween: Spiderween
First of all: DECORATIONS??????
The ENTIRE campus done up with jack-o'-lanterns and lights and smoke machines and COPIOUS AMOUNTS OF SPIDERWEBS for the Spooky vibes???!!!
Spider decorations EVERYWHERE. From October 1st.
There's a haunted house on campus - filled with volunteers AND REALLY REALLY good jumpscare holograms made by Lyla
The food court starts serving Halloween specific food. Like a Vampire Miguel Milkshake at McMiguels.
COSTUMES??!!! COSTUMES BUT OVER THE SUITS.
TRICK OR TREATING Some people stay home at their universe and people portal over for candy and they get to see a glimpse of your universe
Or you get to hop universe to universe dressed like a Spider-person dressed like a giraffe. And since it's Halloween, it's fine if a bunch of Spider-people are running around dressed ridiculous because so is everyone else on most Earth's, Miguel's like 'yeah sure okay'
BIG BONUS POINTS if they dress up like ANOTHER Spider-person but like... Still over the suit.
Like wearing the crappy costume Miles had over your actual suit and 'acting' like someone else.
And EVERY TIME you see someone dressed as you, or wearing the same costume -
You know what you must to do.
One year Hobie comes as Ben Reilly. All dressed up in punk but with a blue hoodie crop top to match . He spends the whole day wailing about the harrowing memories and crouching on ledges. Dramatically collapsing in people's arms
Is your Spidersona small? Imagine them dressed as Miguel. Walking around acting and irritated and fake angry and DOING THIS TO MIGUEL
Miguels like 'are you serious? Cut that out-'
"aRe yOu SeRiOuS?? cUt ThAt OuT'
(and Lyla's like 'oooo that was good. They sound JUST like you Migs')
Lyla being a very popular costume
A bunch of Spider-people wearing fur coats and heart glass and they just decide to spend the whole day being useless to Miguel.
Which LYLA ADORES SHE'S LOVES ATTENTION
They all lounge around on all the seats like her, some even in bob cut wigs, and they follow Miguel and trying to get selfies with him LMAO
The Lyla with the cutest or funniest Miguel selfie gets put in the Campus newspaper
MJs A POPULAR ONE TOO -
ALL the lazy Spider-people wanna throw a red party city wig over their suit and be like 'I'm MJ'. NO YOU'RE NOT.
Or some will even wear their MJ's clothes. Walking around calling everybody, Tiger. (Mayday gets the joke - they're supposed to be her mom - she thinks it's HILARIOUS and giggles the whole day)
Sidebar - can you image Gwen with a wig over her suit BUT LIKE under her hood??? SO SHE WOULDN'T LOOK BALD?? I'M SCREAMING AIRPOD LOOKING AHH
VILLAIN COSTUMES - Spider people dressed as Doc Ock over their suits, coming in with fish bowls on their head and going 'Look, I'm Mysterio!! Lol'
While the caged villains are looking at them like
('y'all mfers got a lotta nerve')
I bet some people get REALLY REALLY into it and go all out, designing everything to a T. (Like the perfectionist!pavitr)
Some friends even do joint costumes - WebSlinger makes a costume for Willow so they match. Hobie does all his costumes DIY and it's like the ONE thing on campus he participates in.
Because he loves the DIY spirit. And the chance to mock his bosses on company hours.
Goes ALL IN on him and Gwen's (he wants to match) costumes. Or maybe he doesn't participate cause-
What's even better is people 'Punkifying' their suit to be like Spider-punk is a popular costume too!!
They throw together their own vest and jeans and jewelry and boots. And follow Hobie around, hands in pockets, and they all act all cool and fake punk all day , Hobie hams up the act for the occasion
Hobie of course weaponizes this by annoying Miguel with his 'clones'.
Ten Hobies outside his office sturming untuned guitars REALLY badly and Hobies likes 'Keep it up you !! U sound great!!'
Miguel's office full of Hobies and Lylas, Last year Margo went as Jess and Jess was touched
Then there's some Spider-people that are broke as hell. But since they all have top tier humor they make the intentionally cheap or out of the closet costumes. that ends up being stupidly hilarious.
Like wearing boxes and drawing a Spider-suit on it. Boom - Lego Spider-man.
Sometimes people might wear their makeshift suit over their new suit. So like a Spider-person having this as their costume OVER their suit
And arguably the funniest of them all - having a really elaborate overdone homemade costume of a specific hero on campus, and everyone is like woah so cool have they seen you in it yet?
And you take off the costume mask... And it's just you... AS YOURSELF Like it's just the same mask underneath LIKE A HAT ON A HAT
THERE'S SO MANY POSSIBILITIES THIS JUST BRINGS ME JOY
But the ONLY TWO THINGS YOU CAN'T DRESS AS AT ALL-
Venom and Deadpool.
Venom is too risky. Deadpool is not allowed on campus and if THE REAL ONES seen they have to evacuate and deploy the capture team cause he gets too excited (you'd be surprised of what one man is capable of in the need of Spider-attention)
Anything else is fine though-
CAN YOU SEE IT ARE YOU SEEING SPIDERWEEN????? HUH

Sweat treats~ Chap 2
Tw: Blood and death!
Yandere Bnha ships x undercover hero reader
Once you reach your house close and lock the door, you quickly put on your undercover Hero suit with most importantly your hero mask "Xin I'll be back sweetie!" Xin mewed and went back to sleep you grabbed your suitcase and went out of the house you pressed a button and a few seconds later it became a motorcycle you hopped on it and drove to your boss agency
"Ah there you are birdie~," Keigo said as he smirked keigo was your agent partner and boss he was in charge of striking down and killing villains and you were either the backup up or his getaway driver they walked you in the meeting room where ziki kicker and, Maharu was in "alright since everyone is here.." he drops the documents papers for everyone in the room "There's a villain planning to steal a valuable and powerful jewelry kept safe in the safe kitkari, you, and maharu find the bombs and remove them carefully while me birdie and buns (aka Mirko) will take care of her ourselves which means y/n and maharu will pretend that they're partners" you all agreed with his plan and head out with your spy car "Oh and make sure you dress up nicely and use your fake identit s and disguise make sure theyre not real " Mirko stated "hm I wonder why do we?
Time skip cause I'm lazy
Once they made it to the ball 2 large men were guarding the door "Name and partner name?" The men said pulling out their hands for any type of ID "I'm Marshall Rover this is my lovely wife Sasha Willwood " "ok get in next " "Zachary west and my lovely wife Mary~" Ziki tried fake flirting with Kitkari (aka mary) wich Mary pretended to be flustered "ok get in" you and Mahara looked at each other and nodded "State your name?" "Um I'm f/n (fake name) and this is my husband uh..moose?" Marharu and the others stared at you Keigo and Kitari tried not to laugh while Ziki and Miriko rolled their eyes the guard eyed at the both of you while you smiled at them trying to keep their cool "yea your on the list get in" you sighed in relief and walked pass the large fancy doors
and you were amazed when you saw how well done it was it felt like you were a background character in Cinderella "Well damn no wonder, why ms Miriko told me to dress nice this place is beautiful" You stared in wonder head turning at each angel to feast upon the view like a child 1st discovering candy stores unaware that hawks were chuckling at your reaction "gotta pay attention birdie don't wanna miss our target~" you snapped out your daze "Oh! Im so sorry I'll do better next time my mistake mr hawks" you made a small bow to him while Ziki snickered at you and he chuckled "That's all right now let's focus"
"Good luck!" Kitkari winked at you while she and Ziki ran off with their gear they sped away the 4 of you spread out by slow dancing to spot the red-haired woman, "look!" Marharu whispered pointing at the small crown near the food table you see the red-haired woman, the woman's name was Diana famous for stealing valuable things and has been on the run for 4 years now nobody ever caught her because of her quirk camouflage and another quirk called lava, "Mr ha- I mean Keigo I see her.." you whispered making sure nobody heard you "let ziki and kari know and I'll grab the attention of everyone in the party for a while you finished the job" suddenly Keigo went on stage and choose some music while miriko played piano with him
Your eyes sparkled at how smooth your boss's voice was and how Mirko was amazing at playing the piano and also singing with him heck you were almost distracted keigo spotted you and gave you a wink and a charming smile which made you blush while Mirko gave you a seductive wink and blow a kiss you blushed and looked away in embarrassment, Maharu changed his finger to the tip of a sniper while you had a gun in your pocket (his quirk is a firearm which allows him to form limbs as any gun his drawback is running out of bullets and losing energy) "ziki when I tell you now you turn off the lights" "on it"
3
Maharu got his aim and shot ready
2
Keigo and miriko was getting ready to fight in case they missed
1
"NOW!" You turned off the lights and heard bullets flying and people screaming and running away "Did...you get it?" You turned on the light and saw people screaming seeing the redhead on the floor blood streaming down her head everyone was running in different directions "IT THEM!!" The 2 men said pointing at the 4 of you joining them were like 100 guards guns locked and loaded "...RUN!" The 4 of you dashed off going up the stairs and down the hall "KARI ZIKI GET THE CAR READY're going TO JUMP OFF THE ROOF "
Miriko was jumping back and forth throwing punches and kicks h at the guards but there were too many and had pretty strong quirks the 4 of you made it to the roof Mirko used her leg to knock off a piece of a metal pipe and tied it around the door to block it off while you used for your quirk to try and block off the exit making them harder to get to you, "cmon cmon cmon!"m
Your mind was running wild screaming even though the doors were about to open at any minute nails and bolts falling apart while the door kept staying strong shaking back and forth "We have no choice just jump!!" The 4 of you jumped as far as you could just when the guards finally busted down the door a red sports car drove underneath the 4 of you crashing you and their fall and quickly driving away quickly.
After everyone got dropped off at their designed area with a bunch of goodbyes and teasing you were the last to drop off "Good job on today's mission Birdy did amazing today~" "yea honey bun you did amazing today!" You rubbed the back of your head sheepishly "Eh it wasn't that good the two of you were amazing, especially your singing and piano playing!" They both chuckled at your praise "well have a goodnight!" The two of them watched as You rushed off into your "house "you know baby our little employee there is kinda cute i wonder are they single?" "Patience love Patience let's get to know them 1st before we ravaged them" he playfully glared at her whole they sped off into the night
Time skip to the next day
You arrived at the lovely day at the cafe maharu was a bit cranky while ziki was being a little shit as usually "Hey y/n ready to start the day?!" "Yes and you better not steal any of the expired treats KARI" she giggled while you playfully put of the middle finger at her you heard the bell behind you and immediately turned around giving them your biggest smile "hello my name is y/n and welcome to the cafe!"
Y/n!! Y/n!!
You looked up to see a familiar green hero suit freckled and green messy hair, brown eyes and pink cheeks with slightly longer hair
"Iuzku!? Ochaco!?"

series masterlist
Frankie, River, Santiago, and Benny were standing in line waiting to get into The Night Owl. Will had to work and couldn’t make it, but he let them know it really wasn’t his scene anyway and wished them all a good night.
River squeezed Frankie’s hand, looking up at him. “You’re such a trooper letting me get you all dolled up today,” they giggled, kissing his cheek.
“I’m surprised how good it looks on him, to be honest,” Benny smirked.
Frankie sighed and rolled his eyes, cheeks pink. He was dolled up by Frankie standards, and having a hard time not fussing with River’s hard work. They had slicked his hair back, and the gel felt like a helmet. He was hyper aware of the eyeliner now rimming his eyes and he couldn’t stop thinking about it. He did everything in his power not to touch his eyes and smudge the thick kohl. Despite his discomfort, even he had to admit he looked good. His hair was smoother than any of them had ever seen it, and the eyeliner emphasized the complexity of his deep brown eyes. River’s eyes dragged over his broad shoulders and grinned at the borrowed shirt he now wore, the delicate mesh pulled taut over his back.
Fake jewelry adorned Frankie’s ears and neck, making River grin. Their eyes traveled down the broad expanse of Frankie’s torso and landed on his soft middle. Frankie was apprehensive about how tight the mesh shirt was, saying that he didn’t want his tummy to poke out too much. River’s kisses to the soft flesh convinced him to go with it. Their arms wrapped around Frankie’s middle and squeezed appreciatively.
“Y’know, now that I’m seeing you all put together like this, you kind of remind me of an older version of someone I used to know,” River hummed thoughtfully.
Santiago snorted and dug his hands under his armpits. “Ay dios mio…” he mumbled under his breath.
“Yeah. Kid went by Dio, but I guarantee he couldn’t tell you a single song by him,” River rolled their eyes, exhaling exasperatedly. “Ended up going to jail for stabbing someone.”
Frankie blinked before barking out a laugh. “That makes me feel great, Río, thanks.”
“No problem,” they smirked, getting up on their toes to kiss him properly, pressing their lips delicately to his so their lipstick wouldn’t smear.
The four of them finally stepped into the club, the walls bouncing with the music. Benny was like a kid in a candy store, eyes wide and excited as he took in all the people. He made his way up to the bar, Viper giving him a look before making him a drink, and Frankie grinned. “I think he likes the place,” he chuckled, looping his arms around River’s waist from behind and kissing their jaw.
“I think so, too. I hope Anya is here tonight.”
“Anya?”
River turned and smirked, putting their finger over their lips as they winked. “It’s a surprise for Benny. I’ve been meaning to find someone for her for a while now and I think he’s perfect.”
An amused look crossed Frankie’s features. He turned to say something to Santiago, but the other man was missing. Frankie furrowed his brows and looked around, one of the clip-ons slightly hitting his cheek as he turned his head. He scanned the room and his eyes finally landed on Santi, already chatting up a pretty girl with dark skin and bright, unnatural contacts in her eyes. Frankie turned back to River, grinning to himself. He’ll catch up with him later.
“You weren’t kidding about these Snakebites, Fish,” Benny’s booming voice brought Frankie’s attention back toward the bar. Ben handed Frankie a matching drink as he took a swig.
“They have other drinks, you know,” River snorted.
Frankie smiled before shrugging. He pressed his hand to their lower back as he guided them over to a cluster of tables. He bit his lip, searching for an empty one.
Suddenly, River gasped and took off, running over to hug a plump woman excitedly. Ben raised his eyebrows and Frankie made an I-don’t-know sound. He moved closer to the pair as River excitedly spoke to the woman, who was giggling loudly. She was really pretty, with a medium skin tone, and her round face bright and more heavily made up than River’s. She wore a lace dress that ended at her thick thighs, and heeled boots with spikes on them. Her hair was short and bleached a bright white.
River felt Frankie’s presence and grinned as he wrapped his arms around their waist, resting his chin on their shoulder. “This must be him,” the woman smiled, her voice soft but with an intrinsic power underneath. He could practically feel the confidence rolling off her in waves. “I thought you said he looked like a truck driver?” she asked, raising a brow.
“Anya, please,” River laughed, holding onto Frankie’s wrists. “He let me get him all dressed up tonight, I promise he does normally.”
Frankie sighed and hid his burning cheeks in River’s neck. He reached a hand out toward Anya, keeping the other secure around River’s waist. “I’m Frankie,” he smiled.
Anya shook his hand and grinned. “You’re being good to them, right? Because if you’re not, I will find you,” she threatened, eyes hard and serious.
Frankie gulped, his eyes going wide, and nodded jerkily. “P-promise.”
“Good,” she grinned. “Anya. And who’s this puppy?” She turned her eyes toward Benny looking over him with an unreadable expression on her face.
Benny was speechless, gazing in adoration at her. He held his drink close and smiled softly, but still didn’t respond, like he didn’t hear her.
“Benjamin,” Frankie mumbled, trying to cover it with a cough.
Benny snapped out of it and shook his head, cheeks red. “S-sorry! I’m Ben,” he smiled wide, holding his hand out for Anya to shake.
Anya looked at his hand accusingly, then looked at Frankie and River with a raised brow, and looked back at Benny. She took his hand and shook it. She must have determined he was a good one because her face softened, a smile blooming on her face. “Hi, Ben.”
River and Frankie exchanged looks before sneaking off to find a spot to sit. When they couldn’t find one, they decided to head for the dance floor instead.
“So, that was Anya,” Frankie laughed, hands on River’s waist as they swayed together.
River hummed and nodded. “Was I right, or was I right?” They smirked, taking a look at the two of them talking animatedly at the bar.
A softness crossed Frankie’s features before he pressed a light kiss to their forehead. “I’m gonna use the bathroom. Be right back, ok?”
River nodded and tapped him on the shoulders before going back to dancing.
Frankie made his way over to the club’s men’s room. As he stood at the sink, he analyzed his look in the mirror, deciding it was growing on him. He wouldn’t keep it, but he didn’t hate it either.
The sound of someone snorting in a stall behind him stopped Frankie in his tracks. He felt his entire body go cold as a shiver ran through him, his eyes slamming shut. He took a deep breath and held it, opening his eyes in time to see a man stumbling out of the bathroom, frantically wiping his nose. Frankie exhaled and looked down at his shaking hands, rubbing his thumb over the black nail polish. He took a minute to collect himself before he made his way back into the club, looking for River and the guys.
River was walking over to Viper from the dance floor and pantomimed drinking something. He poured them a glass of water and they drank it gratefully. They made eye contact with Frankie over the rim of the glass and they set it down, excitedly bouncing over to him.
Frankie felt a rush of warmth at the sight of his partner and his racing heart slowed a little, lacing their fingers through his own. River kissed his cheek before they walked over to where Benny and Anya were still chatting.
“I see things are going well,” River grinned, winking at Anya. Anya rolled her eyes, but smiled up at them. Benny looked at Frankie and did a double take, noticing the pinched look on his face before anyone else did. He caught Frankie’s eye, concern growing on his face. Frankie nodded, squeezing River’s hand a little tighter. Benny seemed to take that and turned back to Anya.
“I was just going to ask this lovely lady if she’d give me her number,” Ben rumbled, looking over Anya’s form appreciatively before landing on her face and holding her gaze. Anya’s cheeks warmed as she held her hand out for Ben to hand her his phone.
River turned to Frankie and smiled. “We should check and see if we can find Santi.”
Frankie swallowed the lump in his throat, his heart pounding, before he croaked out, “He’s probably making out with that girl he was talking to.” He sniffled twice.
River nodded and squeezed his hand, noticing the tightness of his features. The furrow in his brow seemed to deepen by the minute, and his gaze bounced frantically around the room. They could tell something was up, but didn’t want to press the issue. At least not here.
“I’ll go find him,” Frankie muttered quietly before walking off to find Santiago. He made his way over to the women’s restrooms, placed next to the all-gender bathroom, and smiled to himself. Santiago had the same pretty girl from before pressed against the wall and, just as Frankie thought, was heavily making out with her, her arms around Santi’s neck.
Frankie cleared his throat and grinned, crossing his arms over his chest. He was still shaking, but trying his hardest to suppress his trembling. Santiago pulled away from the girl, her lipstick smeared across his mouth.
“Hey, Fish,” Santiago mumbled, licking his kiss-swollen lips. “What can I do ya for?”
“Uh,” Frankie chuckled uneasily. “I think River and I are gonna head out. I, uh…” he shuffled on his feet a little. “It’s getting a little crowded, and I just…”
Santi turned serious, quietly whispering something to the girl before turning his attention back to Frankie. She waited patiently, smiling at the back of Santiago’s head.
“You okay, Frank?” Santiago leaned closer to his friend, placing a reassuring hand on Frankie’s shoulder.
Frankie gulped and nodded, looking down at his black boots. The warmth from Santi’s palm seemed to ground him. “Yeah, I’m just… tired,” he lied, forcing a smile. “I’ll text you, okay?”
Santiago narrowed his eyes, but nodded, giving Frankie a once over. “Alright. I’ll make sure Benny gets home.”
“Thanks, Pope.”
Frankie slapped Santiago on the shoulder before turning away to find River. He had to get out of here, and quick. His palms were sweating and it was getting harder to breathe the longer he stayed. The sound of that guy sniffing played on a tormenting infinite loop.
He hadn’t had an episode like this in a long time, and he guessed that’s why it was happening. He should’ve expected there to be something like this at a nightclub, but it still felt like it came out of nowhere . He shut his eyes and took a deep breath before grabbing River’s hand again.
“Hey,” they smiled, a pinch of worry on their face. “Everything okay?”
Frankie bit his lip and nodded jerkily. “Y-yeah, uh. Do you think we could go home?”
River’s heart skipped a beat at the insinuation that River’s apartment was home, for both of them. Frankie already planned on staying over at River’s that night. “Of course, babe.”
A genuine smile grew on Frankie’s lips and he nodded, kissing their cheek softly.
“I already told Anya and Ben to use protection and they nearly hit me for it,” River chuckled, walking Frankie out of the club and toward his truck. Frankie’s hands were still shaking as he grabbed for his keys. “You want me to drive?” River asked, holding out their hand.
Frankie battled with himself for a second before nodding, handing his keys over to them. “Thank you,” he mumbled, making his way over to the passenger seat.
The drive home was quiet. Frankie was obsessively picking at his nails, not used to having polish covering them. River kept looking over at Frankie worriedly, unsure what was going on. They knew he’d tell them when he was ready but they couldn’t help but feel useless at this moment.
Once they were inside River’s apartment, Frankie quietly untied his boots and went to the bathroom to clean all the stuff off his face. River got Jonsey his food for the night and went into their bedroom, changing into boxer briefs and Frankie’s Iron Maiden t-shirt. Once changed, they knocked on the bathroom door softly. “You decent?”
They heard a few sounds on the other side of the door, mostly of the fake piercings hitting the counter, before he answered shakily, “Yeah, c’mon in.”
River opened the door and smiled sadly at Frankie’s now-bare face. “There he is,” they smiled, stepping further into the small bathroom to hold his face. They kissed the tip of his nose and pressed their hands on his broad chest. “Go get comfy and I’ll be there in a sec, ok?”
Frankie nodded, almost on autopilot, and made his way into River’s bedroom to change.
When River made their way back into their bedroom, their own face now bare and hair pulled back in a loose braid, Frankie was already curled up in the blankets. His bare back faced them as he lay on his side, so River crawled into the sheets to wrap their arms around him. They cuddled his back close to their chest, rubbing their hands over his soft tummy comfortingly.
“You wanna tell me what happened?” River asked softly into Frankie’s curls, now freed from their gelled prison.
Frankie sighed quietly, lacing his fingers with River’s free hand. “In the morning? I promise I will, I just,” he paused. “I just wanna sleep it off first.”
“Of course,” River hummed, pressing a soft kiss to the back of Frankie’s head. “I’ll be here.”
Cold. Heavy rain. A series of gunshots. And then, euphoria.
Frankie startled awake, covered in cold perspiration. He panted hard, trying to blink the room back into view.
River blinked awake, Frankie’s heaving chest rising and falling quickly underneath their hands. “Babe?” they asked, voice thick with sleep.
Cold. Heavy rain. A series of gunshots. And then—
“Frankie,” River’s voice came through clearly, sounding more awake. They tapped on his chest, rolling him onto his back and then pulling him up into a sitting position.
Black spots and blurred vision greeted him as he tried to come back to earth. “I—“ he croaked, starting to cough. He began breathing heavily, shakily.
River’s eyes welled with tears as they watched him, rubbing his back as soothingly as they could. What could they do? They thought about it for a second, then started humming a song softly.
Frankie pressed his large hand to his chest and his throat, trying to get his breathing back to normal. He turned his head to see if he could find someone familiar. When his eyes landed on River’s tired face, a tear fell from his eye. He didn’t want them to see this. This wasn’t supposed to happen.
River continued humming, rubbing soothing circles into Frankie’s back until his heart rate got to a steady rhythm. “Frankie?” they asked softly, eyes searching his pinched face.
Frankie startled a little, almost like he didn’t expect them to say anything. “Riv—“
“Shh, it’s okay. Just making sure you can hear me,” they whispered. They leaned over to kiss his shoulder, the hand not on his back coming up to hold the back of his own hand pressed to his chest. “I’m gonna go get you some water, ok? Don’t move.”
“Nuh,” Frankie mumbled, shaking his head quickly. He wrapped his arms around their waist and pressed his head to their chest. “N-no.”
A shaky breath left River’s lungs, but they nodded, cradling his face and rubbing his back gently. “Alright,” they sighed.
Exhaustion overtook Frankie’s body and he fell asleep. River looked over at their phone on the nightstand and picked it up; 5:28am. They looked at the photo on their lockscreen of Frankie smiling shyly and looking down. They sighed and put the phone down, looking back at Frankie’s sleeping face.
River could wait. They settled back against the pillows and watched the sky outside lighten to a dusty blue, the clouds glowing orange as the sun rose.
When Frankie opened his eyes, the first thing he saw was the sun filtering in through the window. Dust motes floated in the shafts of light. His head was pounding.
“You’re awake.”
He lifted his head from River’s chest and saw their yawning face. “Yeah… You’re up early,” he mumbled, biting back his own yawn.
“I never went back to bed,” River smiled sleepily.
Frankie’s face fell. “God, I’m so sorry, mi río.”
River shook their head and sat up against the headboard of the bed. “No, you stop right there. I chose to stay up, okay?” They smiled, rubbing their thumb against his arm. “I wanted to make sure you slept.”
Frankie’s eyes welled with tears and he shook his head, looking down. He took a deep breath before speaking, wanting everything to come out clearly. “I don’t want you to not know what happened,” he looked up at them, big brown eyes glossy. “I don’t want to scare you again,” he whispered.
Heart melting and breaking simultaneously, River nodded in understanding. “Okay. I’m listening,” they said softly.
So, he told them everything. Joining the military at nineteen, figuring himself out. But also what the military did to him mentally, and how he dealt with that. Colombia. River didn’t say much, just taking the time to let Frankie get his thoughts out.
“I understand if this is like, a lot,” Frankie mumbled shakily. He shut his eyes and exhaled. “If you don’t want to—“
“Stop it,” River hummed sadly. “It is a lot to process, but I’m not worried. I mean, I’m worried, because this is something that’s still affecting you, but I’m not going to leave you over this.”
Relief flooded through him and he pressed his forehead against theirs. “How did I get so lucky?” he whispered, smiling softly.
“It was the New Balances. So hot.”
Frankie snorted, his shoulders shaking slightly until he barked out a loud laugh. “Shut the fuck up,” he giggled, tickling their sides.
River squealed with giggles, falling onto their back. Frankie kept going until they had tears streaming down their cheeks and he was hovering over them. They slowly caught their breath, watching each other’s faces quietly.
“Te amo, mi río,” Frankie hummed, cupping their cheek.
River’s heart stopped and they bit their lip. They looked down at Frankie’s collarbone, not answering right away.
Frankie panicked a little, his eyes widening. “Sh-shit, um, I’m sorry—“
“No, it’s okay,” River’s eyes shut as they shook their head a little. They held his hand against their face so he wouldn’t take it away. “I… I’m not sure I’m ready to… to say that back. But I want to. God, do I want to.”
Frankie exhaled shakily and he nodded, cheeks burning.
“It’s just… I haven’t been in a real relationship in a long time. I still… I still identified as a woman when I did. No one’s ever… b-been with me like… like this,” River gulped, finally looking back up into his eyes again. “It’s always just been flings and hookups.”
Frankie was quiet, processing what they were saying. “Okay,” he muttered. “I don’t want you to say it until you’re ready. I just needed to let you know,” he smiled softly.
River’s heart skipped a beat. “I’m glad you did.”
“Me too,” he hummed, leaning down to kiss them softly.
