I once arranged a vote on my VK, where the guys chose one of the suggested options and thus assembled the character. In general, this is what we got in the end. I originally drew this in CG, but the day before yesterday was my birthday and I decided to forget about everything and draw it with colored pencils. So the original art was reworked and it turned out what it turned out to be :)

MS Paint fairy I drew in like 2023??? I think I named them Moss, and they’re based on a beetle, perhaps a white-spotted sawyer?? It was a very simple drawing so ignore the glaring flaws

A short, stocky and muscular fairy with wings look like coarse, branching clubmosses, and spiky tresses composed of individual lycopod microphylls. Due to his build, he's a powerful flier over short distances, but tires easily. For long journeys, he prefers to walk.

His features are blocky, with an aquiline nose, square jaw, and the mouth between them usually arranged in a scowl. Pointed, yellow strobili erupt like horns from his brow. He has pasty skin that freckles easily and hazel eyes.

He's got a ruffian’s dress sense, with torn pants, large boots and a heavy jacket crafted from plant fibres and wooden studs. One of his ears is pierced. The distinguishing feature of his getup is, true to his taxon, an enormous club, nearly as long as he is tall. It looks something like a samurai's kanabō in form, but is proportionately massive. It's carried slung across his back when he's expecting a fight. Even if caught without it, his strength allows him to use any suitably sized stick as a less effective, though still dangerous, weapon. As well as brute force, he's an accomplished wielder of light magic, which can dazzle, distract or stun opponents.

I think this was a sketch I did on a "create a fairy OC" or a "roll a character" type thing a while back. It has been sitting in limbo for a long time and I had some time between classes to do some inking. Things just kind of flowed from there and it was fun to try and figure out how lighting even works. I also tried to keep it to just one of the built in palettes from procreate to see how that went. I ended up sticking to it until the end where the colours looked a bit washed out, then I added some purple for the shadows and that added the depth I was looking for. Apparently it was good colour theory, which I know about on paper but when it actually comes to utilizing it my brain just can't parse.
