A Tinker’s Heart
Tumblr media
Characters: Bobble, Reader (You), Clank (briefly), other fairies (mentioned)
Trigger Warnings: none
Masterlist
Words: 944
---
Pixie Hollow was buzzing with excitement. A new fairy had arrived—you. Every fairy had gathered to greet you when you were born from the first laugh of a baby, but your talent had taken some time to reveal itself. Now that you knew you were a Tinker Fairy, you’d finally joined the workshop to meet the other tinker fairies properly.
You hovered nervously near the entrance, your wings fluttering softly. The room was full of gears, half-finished contraptions, and cheerful chaos, with fairies darting around, tinkering and chatting. You felt a little overwhelmed, wondering if you’d fit in with all this energy and noise.
Then, someone flew up to you with a bright smile and sparkling blue eyes hidden behind round glasses. His red hair was messy, his wings shimmered in the sunlight streaming through the windows, and he wore a leafy vest that looked just a little crooked.
“Hiya! You must be the new fairy!” he exclaimed, his Irish accent warm and welcoming. “The name’s Bobble! So glad you’re joinin’ the workshop!”
You smiled shyly, feeling the weight of your nerves lift just a little at his friendly demeanor. “Hi, Bobble. It’s nice to meet you.”
“Nice to meet you too, miss!” He gave a little bow mid-air, nearly bumping into a floating gear. “Oops! Sorry about that! I get a bit excitable, you see.”
You giggled, and Bobble’s heart skipped a beat at the sound. There was something in your soft, nervous laugh that tugged at him, and he found himself wanting to make you smile again.
“Here, let me show you around!” Bobble said, motioning for you to follow him. “We’ve got all kinds of gadgets and gizmos, and Clank—he’s my best mate—well, he’s around here somewhere…”
As he led you through the workshop, pointing out various contraptions with animated excitement, you couldn’t help but smile at his enthusiasm. He talked a mile a minute, jumping from one project to the next, but somehow you found it endearing rather than overwhelming.
“And this here’s our latest project—an automatic flower picker!” Bobble announced proudly, holding up a small, clunky device. It promptly whirred to life, misfiring a petal straight at his face.
You gasped. “Are you okay?”
Bobble blinked, cross-eyed, as the petal stuck to the tip of his nose. Then he burst out laughing. “Happens every time!”
You couldn’t help but laugh with him, your worries melting away in the sound of his joy.
As the days passed, you found yourself growing more comfortable in the workshop, thanks largely to Bobble’s kindness. He was always there to help you with tricky gears or to cheer you up when something went wrong. He was sweet, funny, and unlike anyone you’d ever met.
And slowly, without realizing it, Bobble began to fall for you.
It wasn’t just the way you laughed at his jokes or the way your wings shimmered when you were focused on a project. It was the way you saw him—not just as a quirky fairy who was always smiling, but as someone with a heart.
He tried to tell himself it was just a little crush, but every time you smiled at him, his heart fluttered like a butterfly’s wings.
One day, you were both working together on a flower-basket delivery system. Bobble was explaining how the mechanism worked when you leaned in just a bit too close, your wings brushing against his.
Bobble froze, his cheeks turning pink. “Um, right! So, the… the gears go here, and the—oh, pixie dust, what was I sayin'?”
You giggled at his flustered state. “I think you were saying the basket gets stuck sometimes?”
“Ah, right! Yes! That’s exactly what I was sayin'!” he stammered, rubbing the back of his neck.
For a moment, the two of you just hovered there, the unfinished basket forgotten. The air between you felt warm, filled with unspoken feelings and fluttering wings.
“Bobble?” you asked softly, tilting your head. “Are you okay?”
He cleared his throat, adjusting his glasses nervously. “I—um, well, you see, it’s just that… I, uh…”
You waited patiently, your gaze kind and encouraging.
“Oh, fiddlesticks,” he muttered under his breath. Then, with a burst of courage, he blurted out, “I think you’re the most brilliant fairy I’ve ever met, and I’d really like it if—if we could spend more time together, outside of all this tinkerin'.”
Your eyes widened, and for a moment, Bobble feared he’d said the wrong thing. But then you smiled—a soft, genuine smile that made his heart soar.
“I’d like that too, Bobble,” you said gently.
His face lit up like the first star of the evening. “Really? Oh, that’s wonderful!”
Without thinking, he flew forward and wrapped you in a warm, enthusiastic hug. You laughed, your wings fluttering happily as you hugged him back.
When he finally pulled away, he looked at you with a grin that could’ve lit up the whole workshop. “I, uh… I’ve never done this before, but…”
Before he could overthink it, he leaned in and pressed a quick, feather-light kiss to your cheek. His wings buzzed nervously as he pulled back, his cheeks flushed.
You blinked in surprise, then smiled. “That was sweet.”
Bobble let out a nervous laugh, rubbing the back of his neck again. “Well, I figured… if I didn’t kiss you now, I’d probably just keep trippin’ over me words forever.”
You laughed softly, feeling your heart warm at his adorable awkwardness. “You’re perfect just the way you are, Bobble.”
His grin widened, his heart soaring higher than ever. And in that moment, surrounded by gears and gadgets and a little bit of magic, everything felt exactly right.

Author’s Note:
Thank you for reading! Bobble’s quirky personality makes him such a fun character to write, and I loved giving him a chance to show his sweet, romantic side. I hope you enjoyed this lighthearted little love story between two Tinker Fairies!

Tink
•••
Genre: fluff
Warnings: none
Characters: Genderbend Tinkerbell x Femfairy reader
Notes: none
•••
You first met Tink while inspecting a human object, carefully taking notes on its details. Lost in your observations, you hadn’t noticed the tiny fairy fluttering nearby, scanning the ground for ‘lost things.’
That’s when he spotted one—only to realize he wasn’t the only one interested. His curious gaze quickly shifted to you.
“Oh hello…are you going to use this?”
He pointed down at the bottle cap, his eyes briefly flickering to your journal. The sound of his voice pulled you from your thoughts, and as you looked up from your notes, your gaze landed on him.
For a moment, you simply observed—taking in his tied blonde hair, delicate wings, puff balls on his shoes, and undeniably cute features.
You give a small smile and head shake at his question. “Oh no I'm not, I was just inspecting.”
Tink flys a little closer to you curiously. “What are you writing down?” You show him your notes happy to share. “I like to journal things I learn about humans. They're so interesting”
Tink’s wings fluttered rapidly as he hovered beside you, his bright eyes scanning your neat handwriting with intrigue. “Humans, huh? I guess they are kinda fascinating,” he admitted, tapping his chin thoughtfully. “Always losing stuff, that’s for sure.”
You chuckled, nodding. “Which works out well for you, doesn’t it?”
He grinned, crossing his arms proudly. “Exactly! One fairy’s lost thing is another fairy’s treasure.”
Looking back at your journal, he tilted his head. “So, what have you learned about humans so far?”
Your eyes lit up at the chance to share. “Oh, so much! Their inventions, their habits… Did you know they have a tool just for picking food out of their teeth?”
Tink’s brows lifted in surprise. “Wait, really? That’s kinda genius.” you turn to him and hold out your hand “I'm (y/n) and I assume you're Tink?” Tink eyes widen a little in surprise when you already knew his name.
He shakes your hand letting out a small chuckle. “Woah how did you know?” you chuckle as well holding his hand for a moment longer to let the warmth of his linger. “Well you've made quite the name for yourself around Pixie Hollow”
Tink rubbed the back of his neck, looking both amused and a little sheepish. “Huh, guess I have,” he said with a small chuckle. “Didn’t realize I was famous.”
You smiled, tilting your head. “Oh, you are. Everyone talks about the fairy who can fix anything.” His wings fluttered slightly at the praise, and he gave a playful smirk. “Well, I am pretty good with lost things.”
Letting go of his hand, you gestured toward the bottle cap he had been eyeing earlier. “So, what are you planning to make with that?”
Tink’s expression brightened as he picked up the small metal object, spinning it between his fingers. “Maybe a tiny shield? A part for a gadget? Or—ooh!—a piece for a wind-up toy!”
Your admiration grew as you watched him brainstorm so effortlessly. “That’s incredible. You see potential in everything.”
Tink shrugged but looked pleased. “Everything has a use. You just gotta figure out what it wants to be.”
You smiled, feeling an unexpected excitement bubbling in your chest. “Would you teach me sometime? How to fix things like you do?”
His blue eyes sparkled with mischief as he leaned in slightly. “Only if you teach me more human facts.”
You grinned. “Deal.”
•••
Ever since that day, the two of you had grown closer—a lot closer. You bonded over shared interests, spending countless hours exchanging stories, exploring together, and learning more about each other.
What started as simple curiosity had blossomed into something deeper, an unspoken connection that neither of you could ignore. The two of you sat side by side, a small gap between you, as you admired the enchanting scenery of Pixie Hollow.
As you spoke, your conversation was light and effortless. “Hey I heard you were captured by humans before. Is that true?”
Tink paused, his wings twitching slightly at the question. His usual playful demeanor softened, and he let out a small chuckle. “Yeah… It’s true.”
You tilted your head, watching him closely. “What happened?”
He leaned back on his hands, staring up at the glowing lights above. “It wasn’t all bad,” he admitted. “I mean, at first, I was scared. Humans are huge, y’know? But the girl who found me… She wasn’t like the others. She was kind. Curious—kinda like you.”
A soft smile tugged at your lips. “Sounds like she made an impression.” Tink nodded, a distant look in his eyes. “She did. But in the end, I had to leave. Pixie Hollow is my home.”
A comfortable silence settled between you as you absorbed his words. Then, after a moment, you nudged him lightly. “Well, for the record, if I ever found a fairy, I’d never keep them locked away.”
He turned to you, grinning. “Yeah?”
“Yeah,” you said firmly. “I’d want them to be free—to go wherever they belong.”
Tink’s expression softened, and for a second, his gaze lingered on yours. Then, with a smirk, he nudged you back. “Good to know. Guess I’ll have to stick around, then.”
Your heart skipped a beat, but before you could respond, he stood up and stretched. “C’mon, let’s go find something fun to tinker with. I think I saw an old human clock by the stream.”
Smiling, you got to your feet, falling into step beside him slipping your hand into his, he glances at you his smile getting a bit wider as he entangles his fingers with yours.

I haven't seen anyone talking about this but it's SUPER messed up and sad that Queen Clarion's biggest fear in Wings of Starlight is the pixie dust tree rotting or being destroyed! And this haunts her to the point she has hallucinations and nightmares about this FREQUENTLY! Then in Secret of the Wings she fears that because of HER actions the tree will be destroyed...
Her face when it she saw it freezing just HURTS so much more now that I've read the book. She isn't just scared but BLAMES herself fully!
