Pixie Hollow was buzzing with excitement. A new fairy had arrived—you. Every fairy had gathered to greet you when you were born from the first laugh of a baby, but your talent had taken some time to reveal itself. Now that you knew you were a Tinker Fairy, you’d finally joined the workshop to meet the other tinker fairies properly.
You hovered nervously near the entrance, your wings fluttering softly. The room was full of gears, half-finished contraptions, and cheerful chaos, with fairies darting around, tinkering and chatting. You felt a little overwhelmed, wondering if you’d fit in with all this energy and noise.
Then, someone flew up to you with a bright smile and sparkling blue eyes hidden behind round glasses. His red hair was messy, his wings shimmered in the sunlight streaming through the windows, and he wore a leafy vest that looked just a little crooked.
“Hiya! You must be the new fairy!” he exclaimed, his Irish accent warm and welcoming. “The name’s Bobble! So glad you’re joinin’ the workshop!”
You smiled shyly, feeling the weight of your nerves lift just a little at his friendly demeanor. “Hi, Bobble. It’s nice to meet you.”
“Nice to meet you too, miss!” He gave a little bow mid-air, nearly bumping into a floating gear. “Oops! Sorry about that! I get a bit excitable, you see.”
You giggled, and Bobble’s heart skipped a beat at the sound. There was something in your soft, nervous laugh that tugged at him, and he found himself wanting to make you smile again.
“Here, let me show you around!” Bobble said, motioning for you to follow him. “We’ve got all kinds of gadgets and gizmos, and Clank—he’s my best mate—well, he’s around here somewhere…”
As he led you through the workshop, pointing out various contraptions with animated excitement, you couldn’t help but smile at his enthusiasm. He talked a mile a minute, jumping from one project to the next, but somehow you found it endearing rather than overwhelming.
“And this here’s our latest project—an automatic flower picker!” Bobble announced proudly, holding up a small, clunky device. It promptly whirred to life, misfiring a petal straight at his face.
You gasped. “Are you okay?”
Bobble blinked, cross-eyed, as the petal stuck to the tip of his nose. Then he burst out laughing. “Happens every time!”
You couldn’t help but laugh with him, your worries melting away in the sound of his joy.
As the days passed, you found yourself growing more comfortable in the workshop, thanks largely to Bobble’s kindness. He was always there to help you with tricky gears or to cheer you up when something went wrong. He was sweet, funny, and unlike anyone you’d ever met.
And slowly, without realizing it, Bobble began to fall for you.
It wasn’t just the way you laughed at his jokes or the way your wings shimmered when you were focused on a project. It was the way you saw him—not just as a quirky fairy who was always smiling, but as someone with a heart.
He tried to tell himself it was just a little crush, but every time you smiled at him, his heart fluttered like a butterfly’s wings.
One day, you were both working together on a flower-basket delivery system. Bobble was explaining how the mechanism worked when you leaned in just a bit too close, your wings brushing against his.
Bobble froze, his cheeks turning pink. “Um, right! So, the… the gears go here, and the—oh, pixie dust, what was I sayin'?”
You giggled at his flustered state. “I think you were saying the basket gets stuck sometimes?”
“Ah, right! Yes! That’s exactly what I was sayin'!” he stammered, rubbing the back of his neck.
For a moment, the two of you just hovered there, the unfinished basket forgotten. The air between you felt warm, filled with unspoken feelings and fluttering wings.
“Bobble?” you asked softly, tilting your head. “Are you okay?”
He cleared his throat, adjusting his glasses nervously. “I—um, well, you see, it’s just that… I, uh…”
You waited patiently, your gaze kind and encouraging.
“Oh, fiddlesticks,” he muttered under his breath. Then, with a burst of courage, he blurted out, “I think you’re the most brilliant fairy I’ve ever met, and I’d really like it if—if we could spend more time together, outside of all this tinkerin'.”
Your eyes widened, and for a moment, Bobble feared he’d said the wrong thing. But then you smiled—a soft, genuine smile that made his heart soar.
“I’d like that too, Bobble,” you said gently.
His face lit up like the first star of the evening. “Really? Oh, that’s wonderful!”
Without thinking, he flew forward and wrapped you in a warm, enthusiastic hug. You laughed, your wings fluttering happily as you hugged him back.
When he finally pulled away, he looked at you with a grin that could’ve lit up the whole workshop. “I, uh… I’ve never done this before, but…”
Before he could overthink it, he leaned in and pressed a quick, feather-light kiss to your cheek. His wings buzzed nervously as he pulled back, his cheeks flushed.
You blinked in surprise, then smiled. “That was sweet.”
Bobble let out a nervous laugh, rubbing the back of his neck again. “Well, I figured… if I didn’t kiss you now, I’d probably just keep trippin’ over me words forever.”
You laughed softly, feeling your heart warm at his adorable awkwardness. “You’re perfect just the way you are, Bobble.”
His grin widened, his heart soaring higher than ever. And in that moment, surrounded by gears and gadgets and a little bit of magic, everything felt exactly right.

Author’s Note:
Thank you for reading! Bobble’s quirky personality makes him such a fun character to write, and I loved giving him a chance to show his sweet, romantic side. I hope you enjoyed this lighthearted little love story between two Tinker Fairies!

Please acknowledge Bleakwatch Chronicles, Tinker Bell and the Lost City. I understand that BW chronicles may not have as much fans and are turned off by the art style. Also the author never posted (Zack Loran Clark) much promo for the book unlike Allison, nor mentioned anything about DF on his IG page. It is intended for a younger audience. However, I am much more excited for this book as it pertains to the movie universe. So please, just clap if you believe if you will.
As this is the first book to come out since 2017 that is labeled as "Disney Fairies" and the second spinoff- like this is important. You don't have to buy the book or give it the free promotion, but acknowledge the existence of it at least. WoS is not labeled as DF, if it matters.
Here are some of the reasons why I am more excited for Bleakwatch Chronicles than I am for Wings of Starlight by Allison Saft (Clarion x Milori YA Novel):
It's a post canon story implied to take reference to the cancelled Tinker Academy movie where TB goes to study at the Tinker Academy on the mainland. The art seems like they took references especially when directly compared to the concept art. WoS is a backstory.
It releases first, BWC releases in November 2024 and WoS releases in Feb.
It seems like more of original concept to me, literally because of the new concepts like the Flutterpunks and the implied secret cities of the Bleakwatch and Clockwork Capital.
New characters like Quin and Ozwald will be joining TB on this journey.
It expands on a old concept, and tweaks it in a way that makes more sense. IMO, an idea like a Tinker Academy seems to hold less weight because before the events of Tinker Bell fairies couldn't go to the mainland to spread nature, and it's implied they always stay. It is also implied in GFR that Tinker fairies don't typically go to the mainland even if TB's inventions help them in the intensive summer season (the song implies that's why she's there- it's implied in the first movie she goes there whenever she has a job) Vidia is dismayed by this and says "this is why Tinker fairies don't go to the mainland" whilst TB is checking out the car. In a deleted storyboard for Tinker Academy it is implied that it is a prestigious academy that FM gets into before the events of Tinker Bell, yet to me the idea of underground London tinkers makes more sense to me than the academy. Think about it, it's implied that TB and FM are some of the most brilliant Tinkers in pixie hollow and yet the Tinker population is small. (only Clank and Bobble greet her and we see no one in green outfits) Why do you think that is? I personally like the idea of rogue Tinkers who would scavenge on the mainland for parts and self-exile themselves from Pixie Hollow. It explains why FM calls the lost things junk, if the difference in mindset between the mainland tinkers and the pixie hollow tinkers was that the mainland Tinkers are considered "scraps" (get it) while the PH tinkers are considered more put together and community driven. It makes sense that TB being a brilliant Tinker that outshines even Vidia gets such an audience if brilliant Tinkers do not normally last in PH because they are seen as too curious and ambitious, opting to start their own community of outcast Tinkers in the mainland. Vidia's talent switch in The Pirate Fairy also implies that Tinkers have the gift of thought, and literally think differently (regardless of personality) then their non-tinker peers because it's their talent. There is much potential for this storyline as it adds more nuance to the Tinker Bell movie and the dynamic between the nature and non nature talents, something I think it would benefit from. It makes a lot of sense if the edgier steampunk designs came from a secret Tinker counterculture and not a secret academy imo.
The implication of this book suggest revitalizing the Disney Fairies franchise, possibly not just as a "brand". Not sure what that could mean but it's interesting
IMO, Wings of Starlight has more of a "booktok" vibe I'm getting from it. I'm not just saying that because it's YA, but given the (beautiful) cover design it feels more targeted for what Disney thinks grown fans of Disney Fairies might like based on whatever market research was done (and you know it was). WoS has been receiving better marketing and there are people out here that don't even know two books exist. I'm not saying the book looks lazy, slapped together, or unoriginal- or it will just be corporate and bland, I mean I'm a Disney Fairies fan I don't believe that everything is corporate greed lol and like to see creativity in the "unexpected". But I hope that future Disney Fairies books won't just be going for what is "trendy" to reel people in and instead invest in creative storytelling *in general*, in other words I hope they keep concepts and genres broad and inclusive enough so we have the potential for more creative stories. Not just expanded stories on specific characters and stories like the Twisted Tales series, or sticking to specific genres for this specific niche audience in a way that feels too specific. I feel like there has to be some sort of balance struck, or DF may be a little stuck for a while and may still have "missed potential".
On expanded stories, like I said, Disney has done a lot of that and there is an audience for that. However, I prefer the idea of post canon more than a backstory or expansion. From what I know, we know some details of the Milarion backstory and it will be adding more layers and expanding on the dynamics of the existing characters, where the new book seems to be more lore driven in focus.
I don't like Secret of the Wings that much in terms of lore as a lore fanatic. I feel like this book could also retcon other things when possibly trying to explain things that make sense in SOTW. If BWC is good, I can imagine myself thinking about it more after it releases but I can just imagine myself thinking more of how I felt and my emotional reaction after WoS with fading interest afterward, it just sort of feels like the book could resonate with me more y'know? and I got a pretty good gut feeling for that sort of thing.
Underdog bias, just acknowledge it's existence. Do that with the NG graphic novels from 2022, heck the whole Never Girls series. Do that with the whole DF franchise if you are new here somehow. That's it, that's the post.
The mystery. What is the mysterious pocketwatch and who's on the cover?
Copy and pasted plot summary- Tinker Bell loves nothing more than solving a problem. For her, red buttons demand to be pushed, treasure maps need to be followed, and lost things ought to be found. So when a strange fairy crash lands in Pixie Hollow and leaves Tinker Bell two clues to find a mysterious necklace on the Mainland, she really doesn’t have a choice but to help. However, her journey takes an unexpected turn when she discovers a hidden city of fairies living below the streets of London.
In this city called Bleakwatch, she’ll meet the Flutterpunks, the most infamous band of trinket scavengers around. Helping her may just give them their biggest score yet. But when the Flutterpunks’ plan goes haywire, they’ll be forced to choose between a big payday or saving their new friend.
When their adventure takes them inside the glittering Clockwork Capital, Tinker Bell and the Flutterpunks will uncover a villainous secret that threatens all the fairies in Bleakwatch. It turns out there’s more at stake than just finding a missing necklace, and it’ll be up to Tinker Bell to set things right. Luckily, that’s what tinker fairies do best!
#disney fairies#bleakwatch chronicles#bleakwatch chronicles: tink and the lost city#tinker academy#never girls#tink#quin#ozwald#wings of starlight#underrated disney fairies media#opinion#dessa's thoughts#long post#text post#yes something can be underrated before it even comes out i will stand on that hill even if its just me and another mutual#also i just dont really like “what if” stories#like this might be an unpopular opinon considering how much peter pan fans follow but i could care less about tink meets peter as a df fan#there was this weird promo(?) from the disney23 convention of tb and the “unknown season” and i would much prefer it to tmp as the 8th#like i want more to a tb movie than a origin story if you couldnt tell like a lorey b plot- based in more than “how did this come to be”#it was this weird blurry photo and it said it releases in 2020#like what???#think it might have been linked to the christmasy elena and olivia art#milarion#secret of the wings#discussions: df franchise#tinker bell#gfr#great fairy rescue#clarion#lord milori

Original Team Venture Items from Now Museum Now You Don't (as collected in the Go Team Venture book)
I only drew that Talkin' Rusty doll to give Li'l Billy something to play with but now I guess I gotta draw all the mid-'70s merchandise The Rusty Venture Show generated so adult Billy can buy it off eBay. I'm gonna have to draw so much shit...
↓ Come Be Obsessive-Compulsive with Me Below the Cut ↓
Where does Billy keep all the vintage The Rusty Venture Show merchandise he wins on eBay? It's not on display anywhere in the trailer, unless it's in the back room that was never shown in an episode. Maybe it's just stuffed into all the built-in cabinets all over the walls? Like squirrel hiding away nuts and he forgets where he stashed them.
I'll have to go in and take screen caps of the episodes that show merchandise to see what already exists.
↑ Action Man dune buggy, Talkin' Jonas doll, Pez, jam jar glasses, board game, bobble heads, Jonas Venture air rifle and... bubble bath bottles, maybe?
(I just noticed there's no Colonel Gentleman products. Hmmmm.)
This is all Original Team Venture merch, not The Rusty Venture Show stuff. No Rusty toys at all in this episode. Those would be distinct and different fandoms. Team Venture seems to be a decade before the cartoon... the references are solidly '60s not '70s.
↑ The same stuff as above, in the episode's background, plus the X-1 plane and X-2 yacht models and some kinda aircraft carrier (?) on a plinth to the left.
I do love that Otto Aquarius Ben Cooper box costume. (Now I'm definitely making a shitty plastic-y Halloween costume for Li'l Billy— a mask that won't fit on his face with awkward eye holes and a plastic drape that says RUSTY VENTURE on it.)
Billy collects The Rusty Venture Show cartoon exclusively which had members of Team Venture as characters (but not as the focus). But mind-reading revealed he subconsciously desired that merchandise. Then stole some of this stuff when Spider Skull Island was going to blow up, so does he collect the older pre-cartoon merchandise or was it a crime of opportunity?
↑pillow, framed headshot, magazine, barrel bank, TV guide, statuette, posters, giant doll
Dermott's sister-mother Nikki's room. I need to rewatch this scene from Everybody Comes to Hank's and take better screengrabs. I see her stuff as more fan club "exclusives" made for the collector's market rather than vintage toys. On the coffee table is a Rusty-in-a-Barrel coin bank and a standing Rusty Venture statuette/maquette— both bought at whatever in-universe stands in for the Disney Store/WB Studio Store— Billy would definitely own those, too.
❓→The giant plush Rusty doll at bottom right… do you think she made that or is it a commercial product? Seems like a fan-made thing.
↑ I already drew the Rusty Venture pajamas. Billy wears 40+ year old pajamas. That can't be comfortable. He got them as deadstock— never worn vintage PJs— so that's why they still look new. He bought a whole pallet of them— he has multiples.
↑... plus the merchandise they made for The Rusty Venture Show for real, too (lunchbox, MEGOs and shirt) I hate how the "Rusty" doesn't match the "Venture," pulled from the Venture Bros title. Mixed case vs. All Caps. It's killing me.
✔️ I gotta make myself a "to draw" list of all the merchandise in Billy's collection.
#obsessive-compulsive#to do list#plans for the future#merchandise for shows that never existed#venture bros#vbros#venture brothers#illustrator#illustration

Sweaters, Snowballs, Cocoa, and Kisses (Wanda Maximoff x ADD!autistic!reader)
*Not my GIF.
Summary: (Y/N) doesn’t like extreme temperature, but Wanda really wants to play in the snow, so do the other Avengers. Along with that, Christmas is coming up. Basically a fluff fic with a small amount of angst.
Request: Not this. I’ve got one, but it’s angsty. I need fluff.
Warnings: Meltdown/shutdown, fluff, a small dash of angst, Christmas, some Hallmark-y sappiness.
Word Count: 2823
Note: Some wintertime fluff in May. Why not? And Pietro and Vision are alive because I say so.
You hate winter.
It’s always so cold and it makes you shiver even thinking about it. All of that cold snow, hypothermia, frostbite, not to mention the slippery ice. You’re so scared you’re gonna fall and break a bone. You’d much rather admire its frosty beauty from within, sipping hot cocoa and wearing comfy pajamas, cuddling up with a loved one, watching old Disney or holiday films.
Your crush, Wanda on the other hand, LOVES winter. And you love her. But shy little ole you hasn’t worked up the courage to talk to her. Every time you try, or even think about trying, you feel the butterflies of love all a-fluttery in your tummy. Your cheeks turn into red roses. (Not literally, of course. That’d be EXTREMELY concerning) You feel yourself stumbling over your words, even in your mind. Not to mention you get weak at the knees. Social skills aren’t exactly your strong suit as it is, so this extra layer is just....it makes you feel embarrassed.
And no one can blame you. Wanda caught your eye immediately when you first joined the team. She has such a softness about her, even if she seems slightly aloof at times. You’ve heard her playing guitar and singing while passing her room at the compound, and your heart just about stops whenever you do. She has the voice of an angel. Her laugh is made of sunshine and rainbows. Her voice as soft as a marshmallow pillow. So much more inviting than even the beautiful, but biting, winter wind.
Not to mention; Wanda loves wearing fluffy sweaters in December. They always look so soft and warm and.....how you long to just snuggle up against her on a couch by the fire in comfy pajamas and fluffy slippers while watching a cute holiday film or an old Disney film. Maybe even give her a cute little peck on the cheek. But shy little ole you chickens out all the time.

And then one winter day, there are no missions. No training. Nothing.
You’re using your light powers, one of your powers, to decorate the place with Steve and Bucky when Peter bursts in with snow clothes for the whole team.
“Guys!” he exclaims excitedly. “It’s so beautiful outside. We should go out and play!”
As much as you hate the winter, his enthusiasm is contagious. Wanda looks up from her book.
“I love that idea,” she smiles. “Pietro and I used to play in the park whenever it was safe to go out in the winter.”
Her brother zooms inside, startling Peter.
“I heard my name?”
“I was just mentioning how we used to play in that park in Sokovia in the winter,” she says. “Remember? Mama and papa would make sure it was safe before taking us. Even if it was for only a few minutes, it was always so fun.”
“And that one time I hit you square in the face with a snowball?”
“I got your TV night pick after that,” she giggles.
Your mind begins to wander as Wanda and Pietro talk a bit more about winter in Sokovia. You think about just how beautiful, how adorable, how dreamy, how......perfect Wanda is. You’re so distracted that you almost don’t notice Bucky stumbling on the ladder. Luckily Pietro rushes over to stop him from falling.
“Steve, (Y/N), you two need to be more careful.”
“You’re one to talk about careful, Needy for Speedy,” you joke.
All of a sudden, you hear that cute little giggle. You look to see Wanda smiling at you. Immediately you go weak at the knees and your cheeks are the reddest they’ve ever been. Even your nose is red.
“You’ve got a little something on your face, Rudolph,” “Need for Speedy” jokes back at you, smirking as he sets Bucky down.
“What’s going on?” Nat asks as she enters dressed in casual attire.
“It’s so beautiful outside,” Peter says as he finishes reorganizing the clothing that Pietro startled out of his hands. “I was thinking we should have a snow day! You know? Go outside and play!”
“That sounds kinda cool,” Nat shrugs. “I’m down.”
“Count me in,” Bucky adds.
“I mean, it can’t be colder than the ice I was frozen in,” Steve shrugs.
“I’ll go too,” Pietro agrees.
“I talked to Mr. Stark, Dr. Banner, Clint, and Thor,” Peter tells the rest of you. “And they said they’d be up for it as well. Vision told me he’ll hang back. What about you, (Y/N)?”
“Oh,” you exclaim. “I’m....I’m not a fan of winter.”
“Ah c’mon, kid,” Steve says. “We won’t be out for too long.”
“It’s just....well, I’m sensitive to the really cold and really hot and I’m scared of slipping on the ice,” you admit sheepishly. “It’s okay. I can stay back with Vision.”
“I don’t want you to miss out, though,” Peter tells you. “You’re part of the team. I mean, Vision is too, but I don’t know how he reacts to the snow, so I’m okay with him staying behind if it means he stays safe.”
“When we come back, we could have a movie night and hot cocoa,” Wanda suggests. “One of the best parts of winter is warming up after being out in the cold. If you want, you can hold onto my arm if you’re scared of slipping when we’re walking to the park, (Y/N). And if it gets too cold for you, you can just let me know and I’ll go back to the compound with you.”
You didn’t think your face could glow any redder. You thought wrong. Wanda actually said your name. To you. And she’s offering to help you.
“I, uh....” you stammer. “Wanda, you....you really don’t....you shouldn’t waste....”
“I want to,” she insists kindly. “You seem really sweet.”
Oh Lordy Lordy-Lord....you feel like you’re about to faint. The butterflies are extra fluttery today. Why is an angel like her wasting her time on someone like you? You have no clue.
“I-I mean, if....if you’re sure....” you stammer on.
“Of course,” she smiles. “It’s like Peter said. You’re part of the team as well, and I don’t want you to miss out either.”
You nod.
Maybe a little too much.
“Okay, that’s enough, Bobbly McBobble-Head,” Pietro jokes with a knowing smirk. “Let’s get ready.”
=========================================
Soon enough, you’re all bundled up and on your way to a park just a small walk from the compound. Despite Wanda supporting you, well actually because of Wanda supporting you, you still feel like you’re slipping because you’re so weak at the knees. This leads to you apologizing to her every few seconds.
“You have nothing to apologize for, (Y/N),” she tells you gently.
How is she so patient? How is so sweet? How is she so compassionate and understanding? So many questions like this plague your mind as you slip to the park. When you arrive, everyone else is getting right to playing. Nat, Steve, Pietro, and Bucky are all in an intense snowball fight. Tony and Peter are building a snowman together. Clint and Bruce are sliding down the hill on sleds.
“I think I’m going to make some snow angels,” Wanda muses.
“But you’re an angel already.”
The phrase somehow slips out of your mouth and into her ear. Her face turns red and she giggles, her nose scrunching up.
“I was right. You are sweet, (Y/N).”
You’re like a snowman in summer, about to melt at any moment. Wanda helps you get onto solid and steady ground before heading off to make snow angels. For several moments, you just stand there. Here you are, out in the cold, because an angel of a woman wants to make sure you’re included in the team. The thought is just.....surreal.
You end up kind of just walking and standing around for a while. You’re extremely worried about how you’re going to react to the snow if you sit in it, let alone lay down in it. You end up kind of just drifting off into a walking daydream; one day, you want to work up the courage to admit your feelings to her. You’re worried about being rejected, but at the same time, you don’t want to lose that chance. There’s always a chance that she might have feelings for you as well. There’s always a chance.
“Yeah,” you say to yourself. “There’s always a cha--”
THWACK!
A stinging burst of cold hits you square in the face and brings you out of your thoughts. You find your vision obscured by snow. Immediately you go into a panic. Your chest tightens up and your breathing becomes shallow and rapid, your heart beating wildly. Tears well up in your eyes. Instinctively you drop to the ground and begin to rock as you hear footsteps rush over.
“I’m so sorry, (Y/N),” you hear Bucky exclaim. “I swear I didn’t mean to hit you.”
You wince and make a small squeak as he tries to put his hand on your shoulder.
I wanna go back, I wanna go back, I wanna go back.
“Back up,” you hear Nat tell them. “Give them some space.”
“Wanna go, wanna go, wanna go,” you repeat as you rock.
Then you remember.
“And if it gets too cold for you, you can just let me know and I’ll go back to the compound with you.”
“Wanda!” you cry out, your tears almost freezing to your face. “Wanda!”
In moments she’s at your side.
“It’s going to be okay, (Y/N),” she tells you gently. “It’s going to be okay.”
You finally brush the snow off your face, but the experience has still left you feeling panicky.
“Wanna go, wanna go, wanna go,” you repeat.
“We can go back to the compound,” Wanda assures you. “Come on. I’ll take you back.”
You blink out the snow that remains in your eyes and reach a hand out to Wanda. She gently takes it and helps you up.
“(Y/N), I-” Bucky begins.
“Bucky, I don’t think this is the time,” Clint says. “They’re clearly overwhelmed.”
Wanda leads you out of the park, trying to make sure you two get back as quickly and safely as possible.
==================================
The two of you arrive and take the elevator. Wanda helps you out of your snow clothes.
“Is there anything else I can do to help?” she asks you.
“Cocoa, cocoa, cocoa,” you repeat as you take off your snowpants.
“I’ll get started on it,” Wanda tells you.
Once the snow clothes are off, you head to your room and throw off your clothes, changing into warm pajamas and fluffy slippers. You impulsively rub your arms to get the heat back in them, and you place a warm wash cloth on your face, the tears still rolling down your face.
You flop onto your bed and let the silence and warmth cover you. It’s not too hot, but it’s definitely not freezing-cold. That’s when the realization hits you. Wanda Maximoff, your crush, walked you back to the compound and is doing what she can to help you through your sensory overload. And now it’s just you and her in the compound.
Well, it’s actually you two and Vision, but he was staying back anyway.
About half an hour later, there’s a knock on the door.
“(Y/N)? I’ve got your hot cocoa ready.”
It’s Wanda. Your heart is pounding fast and the butterflies have returned. Trying not to get weak at the knees, you wobble over and open the door. There’s Wanda with a mug of hot cocoa and a plate of something. And she’s wearing one of her fluffy sweaters; this one is holiday-red and has a snowflake on the front.
“You okay?” she asks.
You nod.
“Y-yeah.”
Your cheeks turn absolutely rose-red.
“Are you sure?” she asks. “It seems like you just get so wobbly around me.”
So she has noticed!
“I....Wanda, I.....I’m....” you stammer.
She smiles kindly.
“How about we go to the lounge and talk?”
You nod again, and the two of you head to the lounge, decked out in holiday decor. Wanda sets the hot cocoa and plate, which you now see is full of Christmas cookies, on the table and sits on the couch. You wobble to a spot next to her and sits down. For a few moments, you say nothing. The butterflies are at maximum flutter by now.
“Just tell her, you blushing idiot!” you think to yourself. “Just tell her that you’re in love with her!”
You gulp.
“W-wanda?” you ask.
“Hm?” she responds curiously.
You try to gather up what to say.
“Um.....I.....I’m.....you.....with.....love.....in.....” you begin, stumbling. “For a.....been...long time.....in love....I’ve.....with you.”
Wanda smiles kindly.
“I know,” she says matter of factly.
This somehow comes as a shock to you.
“How.....?”
“I’m a telepath.”
You mentally facepalm yourself. Of course! How could you forget?
“I think....no, I’m almost certain that I’m in love with you too,” she replies. “I’ve seen you interacting with the others and you’re just so sweet and shy and adorable.”
The color returns to your face with a blush.
“You....you really are? Why didn’t you say anything?”
She shrugs.
“I guess I wanted to hear it be said in your real voice. And I suppose I was a little nervous to approach you.”
“You? Nervous? To approach me?”
Wanda nods.
“Do you want to cuddle with me?” she asks.
You nod, moving in timidly. Thankfully Wanda lets you take your time and you slowly lean in close until your face grazes her sweater. Your head immediately drops on it, beaming. It’s even softer than it looks. Wanda smiles at you as she offers you a blanket, which you graciously accept.
“So....are we, like, a thing?” you ask her.
“Do you want to be?” she asks.
You glance away, feeling shy and nod slightly.
“Yeah....I’ve been in love with you for a long time now.”
“Then we’ll be a couple.”
Your heart is beating wildly, all sorts of happy thoughts flying through your heart and your head. You and Wanda cuddle on the couch for a while when something catches your eye. You look to the ceiling, and right above you and Wanda, is a sprig of mistletoe. She notices and looks up.
“Oh!” she exclaims smiling, her face turning red.
You two look at each other, both of your faces rose-red.
“Oh my.”
You hear Vision’s voice and turn to see him entering with another plate of cookies.
“I’ve heard that mistletoe is used to ward off witches and demons. Also that lovers are to kiss under the mistletoe.”
“That’s what I’ve heard,” you shrug, trying to stay calm.
“Steve told me to hang it there,” Vision admits. “I have to wonder if he knew this would happen.”
Wanda giggles again.
“I imagine he knew something would happen.”
She glances to you.
“Do you....want to?”
Can your face get any redder? Apparently. You nod hesitantly, leaning forward, uncertain of how to approach this. After some blushing and contemplation, you decide to just go for it and give her a sweet peck on the lips. You feel fluttery and on Cloud Nine. Wanda leans in and gently places a kiss on your lips, longer than a peck. You can taste a small scent of frosting, almost as sweet as she is. Slowly she pulls back.
“I love you so much,” she replies softly with a gentle smile.
You turn your face away, but she gently guides it back.
“No need to hide,” she assures you. “I love to see your beautiful face.”
The two of you look at each other for a while.
“I...I love you even more,” you reply.
“No, I love you more,” she giggles, booping your nose.
It twitches like a little bunny rabbit’s in response.
“No, I love you more,” you smile, booping hers in return, and she also twitches it like a little bunny rabbit’s nose.
“No, I love you more.”
“No, I love you more.”
“I love you to the ends of the earth.”
“I love you to the moon and back.”
“I love you to the moon and back times one-hundred.”
“I love you to the moon and back times one-thousand!”
“I love you to the moon and back times one-million!”
“I love you to Pluto and back times one-billion!”
“I love you to the ends of the multiverse and beyond!”
This goes on for some time. Sure, it’s sappy, but you love it. You two end up in a fit of giggles and nose-booping before turning on some classic Disney films and cuddling up close. By the time the others return, you and Wanda are falling asleep to The Winnie-the-Pooh Movie with you leaning your head on her sweater and smiling.
The others may know that you and Wanda are a thing. But how you two became a couple? That’s between you and her.
And you wouldn’t have it any other way.

The Library
Chris Evans x Reader
Disney Drabbles Masterlist
Inspired by
Summary: Chris wants to make your first Christmas living together as special as possible by making a childhood dream come true. All the fluff.
Warnings: The slightest bit of swearing and sexual references.
The first time Chris took you back to his home, you were blown away by how nice it was. Tucked away in a quiet Boston suburb, far from the camera flashes you could see why he preferred to be here over the glare of Los Angles. Inside was clean, crisp and cosy, with the biggest back garden you had ever seen. Even in the dark, you spied a den and a climbing frame. Primarily installed for Chris' niece and nephews, you couldn't help but be tempted to have a go yourself. However, all thoughts of playtime and interior design went out the window when you felt a pair of strong hands squeeze at your waist and a beard brush against your neck. Turning to look into his ocean blue eyes, you couldn't help but surrender yourself to him as he leaned in to press his lips against yours...
-
A couple of years later, when Chris asked you to move in with him it was a no-brainer. So much so you gave your answer by simply jumping into his arms and kissing him. While there were creases that needed ironing out, the pair of you soon fell into your new routines and homes were found for your belongings. As Chris was taking an extended break from work after back-to-back filming and press, he decided that it was time he started taking carpentry classes like he always said he would and you relished the time to yourself to work on your own personal projects.
However, when the oppressive heat of summer gave way to a cool, freeing autumn breeze Chris started acting strangely. He had asked you to stay out of the small spare bedroom to the right of the master suite and when you enquired why, he simply stated that it was a surprise, raising his eyebrow the way he would when he was up to something.
When Chris had first made his request, you thought it would be for a day or two. But the days turned into weeks and the weeks turned into months. You still had no idea what Chris was up to, but the house regularly echoed with the sounds of sawing, drilling and hammering, and it wasn't even the kind you enjoyed! Once or twice, you gave into your inquisitive nature and tried to steal a glance only to find that Chris had installed a lock on the door. Bastard. Curiosity may have killed the cat, but it was fuelling your frustration.
As time came around to swap the pumpkins for fairy lights, more oddities started occurring. You started misplacing your books, only to find them the next day in the exact same place where you left them. You could have sworn that some of your other belongings had gone missing too but when you had tried enlisting Chris' help... well he was as useful as a chocolate teapot!
-
You were not planning on spending your first Christmas with Chris' family contemplating murder, but here you were stuck in snowy Boston traffic on Christmas Eve cursing yourself for not being able to resist Chris and his puppy-dog eyes. He had practically begged you this morning when he confessed that he had forgotten to buy the book of fairytales he had promised to get for his niece, but was too busy to get it himself.
“Please Y/N,” he pleaded. “I promise to make it worth your while.”
You began quietly reciting the long list of ways he was going to make it worth your as you finally found a parking space. Fortunately, the first book shop you came across had the exact copy of the book Chris wanted. Relishing in your victory, you decided to tolerate the shoppers who were as idiotic as Christopher and have a quick browse. A good bookshop was your Achilles' heel after all, and there were one or two books that you needed to buy sooner or later.
-
Chris was waiting for you at the front door when you pulled up on the driveway with a look on his face that aroused suspicion. Before you could think about it too much the air was filled with an excited bark and you felt two paws on your hip. Bending down to greet Dodger you felt any remaining annoyance dissipate. You had barely crossed the threshold before Chris had swept you down the hallway towards your shared bedroom.
“Chris I know you said that you were going to make it up to me, but you could at least give me the chance to put my bags down!”
Chris chuckled shaking his head. “Keep it in your pants Y/N! There won't be any of those shenanigans until later.”
You then realised that you were being led towards the forbidden room. A nervous excitement rushed through you, and you quickly forgotten that you were still in your coat and bobble hat. Were you finally going to be allowed in? Chris suddenly stopped outside the door and you turned to him.
“I want to give you your Christmas present now.” He started sheepishly. “But it's too big to fit under the tree. I need you to trust me and close your eyes.”
Turning back around, you compiled with Chris' request; but apparently you were not to be trusted as you felt Chris' warm, large hand cover your eyes. As he leaned to open the door you felt his hard chest press against your back, as both of you felt Dodger brush past. Taking your free hand in his he guided you inside. Your face, back and hand felt cooler as Chris removed himself from you. But then you sensed his lips millimetres away from your ear.
“Open.”
As you opened your eyes, you couldn't help the gasp that left your lips. Your nostrils were flooded with the scents of fir trees, your favourite festive candle and fresh paint. Looking around the white, bright room you could barely believe what you were seeing.
The walls were lined with bookcases, mostly filled with your books; but with plenty of space for you to add to your collection. To the side sat a desk, where sat your laptop, a small potted Christmas tree and your most treasured trinkets, including your favourite framed photo of you and Chris at the L.A. house just before you left for the Oscars: the blue velvet of his jacket making his eyes pop and the golden yellow of your outfit making your skin glow.
You. Were. Speechless. You had mentioned on an early date that when you were little you wished you had a house that was big enough to have a library in it, but you didn't expect Chris to remember, least of all actually give you one.
“Chris this is incredible, I...” You breathed, trying to find the right words, eyes welling up. “Thank you so much!”
You hadn't realised you were still holding onto your bags until Chris had pried them from your grip. Placing the bags on the desk, he pulled you into a tight bear hug as you allowed the tears to fall. Dragging yourself from the embrace, you brought yourself back towards him and captured his lips in yours. Hoping to convey your gratefulness that could not be described with words. Soon enough you had to tear away from each other in order to breathe. You stole another glance around the room, as if it was about to disappear.
“Did you make all this furniture in your carpentry class?” You asked, still amazed by what was around you. Chris' body started shaking as he tried to suppress his laughter.
“No this was all done by some Swedish guy. But I did make that” he said as he gestured towards the window.
Another gasp left your lips as you saw what you were too overwhelmed to see before. It was the pièce de résistance. On either side of the window stood two bookcases that were connected by a window seat where Dodger was currently lounging. There was more shelving underneath the seat, where Chris had placed your original Harry Potter collection as well as the books that you never got tired of rereading. On the side you saw your Christmas candle burning and you noted that it would be a perfect spot for a mug of tea. You looked out of the window onto the garden. New snowflakes were falling from the sky, blanketing the garden. You imagined looking out to see Chris playing fetch with Dodger, his niece and nephews playing on the play equipment, your future children running about and causing chaos.
“Oh, Chris this is perfect” you started.
“I'm sensing a 'but'.” Chris cautiously interrupted.
“But..” you said making your way back to the desk and fishing through the bags. “Where's the little guy gonna sleep?”
Confusion swept across Chris' face as he looked towards Dodger and back to you. “What do you mean?”
You couldn't hide the smirk that ran across your face as you walked towards him, book in hand. Wordlessly you placed the book into his grasp. You saw his eyes look down at the book and back to you, before doing a double take. You watched his eyes widen as he read the words.

In HELL, Imps are the lowest of the low in society, but what happens when one starts a hotel and recreation business? This happens!

He hopes that patients will become better individuals, grow to appreciate the imps and support Blitzo’s love of musicals and murder. While most of Hell mocks his goals and dreams, his father and his fellow employee Moxxie mocks it doubly so. Moxxie’s wife, erotic dancer and test subject Millie stick by their sides. When a grumpy Hellhound entity known as “Moonlight Howl” Loona reluctantly reaches out to Blitzo to help in his endeavors, his crazy dream is given a chance to become reality.
HAZBIN BOSS (PILOT) November 52, 9102
THE PILOT IS HERE!
Starring the incredible talents of Blonde Disney Princess In Inferno, SJW Aggressor Moth, Porny Horny Spider Boi, Diabolic Deer Daddy, Gambling Grumpy Cat and Maid of DisHonorly Lust.
Follow Charlie, the princess of Hell as she attempts to run a hybrid rehabilitation/killing residence in a very competitive market and careless chaotic society. She is the head of D.E.M.O.N. (Denizens End Misery Or Not) in correlation to I.M.P. (Immediate Murder Professionals)
She has help from her weapons specialist Vaggie, her powerhouse Angel Dust and torturer/receptionist Alastor. With the help of an ancient book obtained by one of the rich Eldritch family members, they manage to make their work possible by killing humans at the requests of their demon clients, sending them to the Magne Hotel to be tortured, redeemed or be stimulated by endless entertainment. They also attempt to survive each other while trying to keep their business afloat.
But a rival company exists as well in correlation to C.H.E.R.U.B (Cherish Human Existence Revive U Back): A.N.G.E.L. (All Nobody’s Get Extended Life) a.k.a. they reincarnate people so they have a chance to life their human lives, worship God, and not have to endure the forced rehab program.
The scene opened up with “Red Doe 666 Presents…” as shadow curtains opened…
Against a white background designed with eyes, a shadowy figure of Blitzo was seen riding a horse with horns and a spiked tail.
Blitzo was heard singing:
“Here I am…this is me.
There’s nowhere else in Hell I’d rather be
Here I am…what am I to do?
I hope someday I can make my dreams come true
It’s a new world, it’s a new start
Alive with the screaming and the fresh hearts
It’s a new day, it’s a new plan
And it’s waiting for me
Here I am”
A shadowy pentagram glowed and the camera moved down, showing shadowy figures of humans being killed by the three imps with weapons.
A shadow figure of Blitzo looked up at the princess and Lucifer, his face downcast. He wished for a better life, but Lucifer looked down on him as common dirt. Blitzo then turned to the right and encountered a silhouette of his father and mother. Blitzo appeared to try and reason with them, but they both pointed in the other direction. Blitzo sadly turned around, his parents not listening to him.
The city spun within a glowing white pentagram as white angels holding spears surrounded it. Imp City appeared to be burning as shadows of other denizens turned their backs on it.
“Why have I always been a failure?
What can they reason be?
Why don’t they see they can’t take me?
Why don’t they know I long to be free?”
Blitzo stood small and downcast under a towering horned silhouette of his imp father, Donner, yellow critical eyes glowing. Black tendrils made the screen go black. A spinning globe appeared with white eyes blinking at it. Silhouettes of Exterminators later posed with swords and bloodstained bodies around them. Each of them had an x over their right eyes and creepy grins on their faces.
The next scenes showed Imp City in disrepair, weapons and bodies littering the streets. The Pentagram moon stood out in the crimson sky. Homeless demons sat in despair under ripped cardboard boxes, with “Satan Bless,” signs around them. One old store read: “Tricksters and Trades,” another said “Pimp Imps: Strip Club.” The most prominent building was metallic with black and white stripped horns extending out for decoration.
Blitzo slowly walked out from the building onto a balcony. He leaned on a railing, briefly brushing his hand against his face. He was wearing his usual tattered navy blue work suit with orange pink buttons and a red undershirt with a pink straw pin with a face on it. He was also wearing silver cowboy boots.
Blitzo picked up a trumpet and blew a bugle sound, the notes echoing throughout the area, signaling that it was safe for the other imps to come out. The imps opened their windows and peered out from behind alleyways. Blitzo stared at his phone and the clock tower in the live video on it read “365 days until next cleanse.”
The title then appeared: “Welcome to the Helluva Hotel.”
A car barreled through an open portal and ran over a poor imp before screeching to a stop. A red imp with wild black hair stepped out, a bloodstained knife sheathed at her side.
“Wow that was some kill, thank for the backup sweetie,” said a male imp, Crosser. Both of them had just finished killing their target via a runaway chase. Crosser had dreamed of crossing over to the human world, and had wanted to run the human man over after the man had killed one of his sinner friends.
Millie shut the door, wearing her usual black tank top, torn black pants and black collar around her neck. Her horns were shirt and black with small white stripes on them.
“Yeah, listen, I don’t want to let word out that I’ve been helping random clients with unusual requests for their targets. It was just a quick cash grab, you got it?”
She smiled with large doe eyes.
“Whatever you say, slut,” Crosser remarked with a laugh that followed.
“Wow how rude can you be?” she exclaimed. She leaned in dangerously close. “Let me know who you find something better to call me, you scrawny runty pack of bird shit. Tell the boys at the club I said hi.” She blew him a kiss before stepping back. He grumbled and drove away before his car crashed with a sideways flip.
Millie strolled along the sidewalk and grabbed someone else’s stick of rotten candy.
“Hey!” the imp yelled as Millie ran off with a giggle. “You snooze you lose, sucker!”
She couldn’t wait to tell Blitzo of her successful day.
Later, Moxxie and Stolas were busy helping Blitzo prepare for his big speech. Moxxie was straightening up his navy blue jacket, while Stolas was massaging his horns. They were in Stolas’ room and the meeting would take place in front of the palace.
“Do you remember what to say, sir?” Moxxie asked Blitzo.
Blitzo smiled and stood up straight. “Yes, let’s do this!”
Stolas smiled as well, wiggling his eyebrows. “Just look at me if you’re nervous.”
“Come on guys, I know what to say!” Blitzo exclaimed. “I just feel like we need to…I don’t know, make things sound more exciting…”
He randomly played with bobble-heads of Moxxie and Millie before tossing them aside. Then he gasped, getting an idea.
“What if I…”
“Sing a song about it?” Moxxie asked with a huff of annoyance.
“Exactly Moxxie! Now you’re starting to get the hang of things around here!”
Stolas playfully poked Blitzo’s face, while Blitzo and Moxxie responded with grimaces.
“Please don’t sing,” Moxxie chided to his boss. “This is serious.”
“Well you know…” Blitzo said, climbing on top of Stolas’ dresser, knocking things down, “I do find I’m better at expressing my goals through song!”
“Blitzy, stop knocking over my belongings!” Stolas puffed up his feathers in anger.
Moxxie glared at Blitzo as he walked over. “Life isn’t a musical, sir. Even if it were, yours would be so atrocious, not even Vox would allow it on that unwatched channel!”
“Then I’ll just have to use more of your salaries to release a better jingle,” Blitzo responded with a glare and sneer. He reached over for his plastic cup of iced coffee and downed several gulps of the light brown and white liquid. He sighed in content after he finished. Stolas made a disgusted face as some splashes of the drink spilled onto the floor.
“I’d be more than happy to watch it,” Stolas replied to him. “In fact, I could watch you all day in any form…”
“Oh please,” Blitzo scoffed at Stolas. “Get over that one time thing already. My credibility is at risk of being lost here!”
Moxxie folded his arms and opened his mouth in frustration. “Your credibility? What about I.M.P.? You’re just making it look like a fucking joke!” He took a breath and pinched his nose briefly. “We are still a company, even if…things have changed a bit…”
None of them could forget when someone “accidentally” set their office on fire, and had to start over with several tasks.
Blitzo grinned and pulled out a piece of paper. “Oh, I have these other ideas of what to say. The highlighted bits are the best parts.”
Moxxie took the paper, and scanned it in disbelief. “It’s all highlighted. Are these drawings?”
“Yep!” Blitzo affirmed, pointing to the paper. On it were several drawings of horses of different sizes, colored in with brown, gray, white and black crayons. The drawings looked like those that a child would do. Beside the horses were several names labeled for each one: Thumbtack, Bottlecap, Stapler, Live Wire and Toothpick. The list read: I.M.P. History, Why Blitz Is The Best, Jingle Suggestions, and Ending Song. At the bottom was a crude drawing of Blitzo on a stage, dancing with Moxxie, Millie, and Loona as dead humans with xs on their eyes and tongues out piled up around them. Nearby, imps and demons tossed them money and flowers.
Blitzo’s eyes were shining in wonder. “See! That’s the ultimate goal! Everyone’s happy and appreciating us. And we still get to kill to our hearts’ content.”
“It’s not that simple, sir!” Moxxie groaned with a face-palm. “Just follow the talking points we went over.” He grabbed hold of Blitzo’s collar. “And Do. Not. Sing.”
“Whatever,” Blitzo said as he shoved Moxxie off him. “If not that, then I can always do my improv skills.”
Blitzo saluted and walked out of the room, while the others followed. They were soon outside the palace near a round table where several owls had tea one time. There was a camera crew and several imps taking pictures. Blitzo took his seat in a chair, while Stolas stood regally nearby. Millie grinned and gave Blitzo a thumbs up. Loona slouched in a chair and shot avatars of Moxxie and Husk in an app game on her phone.
“Hi I’m Blitzo,” said the imp to a wealthy demon with white tentacle hair, gray-green skin and a pink dress with fur and matching heels. Her gray skinned brother wore a green suit and a green top hat decorated with living yellow eyes and teeth around the brim.
“Helsa Von Eldritch,” she deadpanned. “I’d say it’s a pleasure to meet you but that’d be a lie. You can put your hand away. I don’t touch imps and sinners. I have standards.”
Blitzo withdrew his hand. “How’s that working out for you, Hel?”
“Be glad that I’m letting you live after you so rudely forgot to address me as Lady Helsa Von Eldritch,” She fluffed her hair. “My time is money and no one really wants you here. You’re only here because Charlie forgot to show up for Hell’s Royal Vogue fashion segment. One that features me as the favorite, obviously.”
Nearby were magazines that showed Sevaithan, Helsa, Octavia and Charlie wearing fancy clothing while their faces were obscured under wide brimmed hats. Seviathan wore his usual green top hat with eyes on it and fancy green suit. Octavia wore a dress of black, Helsa’s was pink and Charlie’s was apple red in the pictures.
“But…” Blitzo began, before Helsa cut him off.
“So don’t get cocky with me clown or I’ll fucking strangle you.” She bared her sharp teeth as Blitzo silently gulped. Helsa sat down in her seat, painting her sharp nails.
“And I thought that bratty kid was a piece of shit,” Blitzo thought to himself.
Blitzo spotted Stolas’ daughter Octavia with her mother sitting in high throne-like chairs at an adjacent table.
“How’s it going, Via?” Blitzo called.
“Good until you showed up,” she replied in a British accent.
“Oh!” Stolas added. “We should all go on a family trip to Loo Loo Land sometime! I’ll bring some balloons and popcorn if you want.”
“That place reeks of corporate shame,” Octavia scoffed in her seat. “It’s just a rip off of Loo Loo World, anyway. Besides, I would much rather hang out with Helsa than die of embarrassment again.”
“So…you friends with her or not?” Blitzo asked in confusion.
Octavia rolled her eyes and retorted. “You and my father still a thing?”
“Blitzo,” warned the white owl queen Melodia, mentioning to the waiting crew.
Blitzo took his seat near Helsa and Seviathan, the two wealthy Eldritch siblings.
“Right,” Blitzo said, straightening his clothes and looking at the cameras.
“Hi, I’m Blitzo, the “o” is silent and I’m the founder of I.M.P. Are you a piece of…”
Moxxie shook his head and mouthed, “Not an ad.”
“…shit.”
Blitzo took a deep breath, his smile fading a little. “As most of you know, I was born here in Hell, and growing up, I’ve always tried to see the good in everything around me. Hell is my home and…”
A stray feather floated in front of Blitzo’s nose, causing the imp to sneeze.
“…some you are my clients, so I suppose I should try to be more concerned about you. We just went through another Extermination.”
Millie gave him two thumbs up.
Blitzo continued. “We’ve lost so many souls, including homeless people, and it breaks my heart to see other imps and hellhounds being slaughtered every year. Same goes for sinners. I mean, they brought it on themselves mostly, but then again, if there were no demons around, then there would be no business for me to run.”
Sudden anger sparked in his golden eyes. “In our society, imps are not even given a chance!”
He pounded his fist on the table, spilling his coffee drink all over his jacket. He swore and tried to lick some of it off. Stolas arrived and quickly wiped the stains off as much as he could. Blitzo brushed the owl prince away before continuing.
“Imps are the lowest of the low? Why is that? Because we’re somehow poorer than sinners? We’re lesser in numbers so imps and hellhounds can be called to service by random strangers anytime they wish? How are imps somehow lower than sinners, who are supposedly lower than the elite hellborn? I mean, imps are born in Hell…shouldn’t we get the proper treatment we deserve? I’m the founder of the most well-known company in Imp City, along with access to the human world, no less! That should definitely count for something! I cannot stand idly by while the place I live is subject to such judgement and death.”
Blitzo continued… “So, I’ve been thinking…isn’t there a better way to hinder ignorance, and in my case, hinder the lower ratings for my company? Isn’t there a more alternative way to change clients and souls through…recreation? Well I think yes, and that is what my project aims to achieve! Ladies and gentlemen, I’m expanding on my company and making…a conjoint hotel to encourage self-expression and I.M.P. appreciation!”
Blitzo spread out his arms at the table. He then muttered nervously at the confused faces. “You know…cause when demons learn to appreciate us more and be somewhat nicer…we won’t have to worry about those blasted Cherubs or the angels coming after us…”
“Angels?” laughed an imp as he watched Blitzo on TV. “Is that imp for real? Oh he’s nuts!”
Blitzo went on…”and those who come and cheer for me at my musicals will receive a 15% discount the next time they need my gang to kill people! Yay!”
“Stupid clown,” mocked an imp before Millie punched the cameraman right in the face, sending him off the stool.
Blitzo looked around in concern. “Look, I know that each and every one of you has something good inside you. I know you do.”
Then he smirked, getting an idea. “Maybe I’m not getting through to you…”
He mentioned to his black haired imp sisters Tilla and Barbie Wire, who suddenly walked in view of the camera, wearing black and pink circus outfits.
Moxxie face-palmed with an “oh no.”
Blitzo began his song while standing on the table…
“I have a dream, I’m here to tell
About a wonderful new I.M.P. hotel
Yes it’s one of a kind
Right here in Hell
Catering to bloodthirsty clientele”
Blitzo’s sisters provided harmonizing vocals.
“When you want somebody gone
And you don’t wanna wait too long
Call the Immediate Murder Professionals
Your vengeance gone wrong?
Are you looking for a song?
At my new hotel, we won’t do you wrong
I.M.P. just wait and see
Embrace you inner demons and live free
But we expect, to treat us with respect
Or we’ll have to break your neck
Yes it’s hard to learn to be good
But to escape stressful lives, you know you would
Give us some green and don’t be mean
This’ll be greatest show you’ve ever seeeeeen!
Don’t feel blue
We provide service to you
There’s no room for inner strife
When we could have a better life
There will be no more loss
And there will be no more schemes
Just horsey-horse nuzzles and iced coffee dreams
And traveling a better way
You’ll be like “Yay!”
Once you check in with meeee
We do or job so well
Cause we come straight up from Hell
We make your troubles go away
And you can find a place to stay
Via the Immediate Murder Professionals
Kids die for Freeeee!”
Blitzo and his sisters ended with poses on the table.
One demon with one eye said “Wow! That was shit!”
Everyone except Blitzo, Tilla, Barbie Wire, Moxxie, Loona, Millie, and Stolas burst into laughter. Blitzo buried his face in his hands on the table, while Millie fired her gun at the crew. Moxxie booed at Blitzo.
Helsa Von Eldrich sneered at the imp, her brother next to her.
“What in the Nine Circles of Hell makes you think people would give two shits about becoming a better person? You have no proof that this experiment even works. You want people to be good and pay attention to your measly company just…because?”
“Well,” Blitzo argued, “I have an employee already who’s dedicated to my cause.”
“And who might that be?”
“Oh just someone named…Millie. Oh and we also have a new guest coming as well…Mimzy!”
Seviathan glanced over and asked, “The flapper girl?” He had previously dated Charlie but would occasionally mess and flirt with sinner girls to mess with them. Mimzy’s fame had appealed to him.
“You fucking would, Sevia!” Helsa bared her teeth. “Anyway, I bet that girl wouldn’t bat an eye to your company unless you had a million souls.”
“Admit it, Blitzo,” added Sevia. “You and your gang of imps are dead to us and to Hell. How does it feel being a total failure?”
The sibling snobs cackled at a hurt Blitzo.
“Yeah, well how does it feel that your ex loves a sinner over you, huh? Bastard bitch?!”
Sevia and Blitzo managed to yell and land a few punches before they were forcefully separated via Stolas’ bird guards. The meeting ended abruptly on the spot. Blitzo and his companions felt dejected on their way back to the office. Stolas had generously given Blitzo some money to add another connecting hotel building with rows of rooms, a stage and a bar.
The three imps arrived at their building and after filling out some paperwork, they met in a lobby of the separate building. There were pictures along the walls of the I.M.P. members. Blitzo posing with his sisters after performing at a circus. Blitzo holding a puppy Loona lovingly. Moxxie and Millie in wedding attire, the couple gazing lovingly at each other. Millie and Moxxie sitting with a large Apple mascot for Loo Loo Land, Moxxie crying in fear and discomfort.
Millie walked over to the fridge and pulled out a box of popsicles. She happily sucked and ate a black raspberry one.
“You know you might as well get more food for this place,” Millie mentioned to Blitzo. “To feed all the wayward souls in this place.” She giggled and added, “I can help organize the car wash while you search the fridge for spoiled butter!”
Blitzo just sat dejectedly on a wooden crate of booze. Millie considered comforting him, but Moxxie gave her a look and shook his head. Millie sighed and followed her husband to let Blitzo be alone. Blitzo stepped outside and called a familiar person on his hell phone. The label read “Stolas, a.k.a. One Night Stand Bird Dick.”
“Hey Stolas, it’s me.”
“Hello Blitzy, how may I entertain you tonight?”
“No you really don’t have to.”
“Perhaps a show that can make up for today’s broadcast?”
“Yeah about that, I…don’t think I’m making a difference. I mean, I’m lucky to be alive after the Extermination but, everyone thought my plan was stupid.”
“Perhaps unusual,” Stolas mentioned. “Redeeming and trying to change demons is like trying to freeze Hell’s fires. It’s just not possible.”
“Not that I want to do it completely…but if things keep going wrong, I’ll lose my company and maybe even my families’ lives from those in Heaven.”
Stolas squawked with laughter. “Don’t tell me you’re scared of those flying cherubs and sheep?”
“Fuck that! Those dancing revivers are annoying pieces of shit trying to interfere with my hard work.”
“How about this way, C.H.E.R.U.B. or whatever those things are, revive humans so you have more humans to kill later on!”
“But having to kill the same people again and again? How boring is that! I.M.P. needs more variety, less repetition. Thumbtack, my horse, agrees.”
“Didn’t you tell me about how you killed that bratty kid twice?”
“It was Moxxie and then me but that’s not the point. If this company goes out of business, then I’ll never get the chance to live my musical theater dreams.”
“Don’t be sad, Blitzy,” said Stolas. “You have your associates and you also have me. I’ll make sure no one messes around with you.”
“I think my dad was…right about me…”
“You’re no failure Blitzy. He can hardly call himself a father to you. And if he ever tries to make you lonely and bring you down because of your goals…”
Stolas then ranted on with a series of curses and a lot of cringe-worthy sentences. Blitzo laughed nervously.
“If this is your way of trying to get into bed then I ain’t having it.”
“No, not this time.”
“Okay then. Thanks for the advice.”
“Anytime.”
“Good bye.”
Blitzo hung up by tapping on the phone screen. He wiped tears from his eyes as he headed back inside. He leaned against the door, eyes closed, frustrated and fatigued.
Just then, he heard a knock on the door. One loud knock that made it sound like someone had decided to punch the door. A smile grew on Blitzo’s face as he opened the door.
There stood Loona in her usual gray tank top with a black downward pentagram design below her neck. Her pants with a moon on it wore torn and she wore no shoes. Her eyes flared red, her red tongue just visible among her sharp teeth.
Blitzo beamed. “Loo…”
Loona slammed the door hard. Blitzo opened it.
“…ny!”
Loona slammed it again.
Blitzo eagerly turned to Moxxie. “Hey Moxxie!”
“What?!” asked the agitated imp.
“Loony is at the door!”
“What?!” Moxxie asked. “Oh?” asked Millie.
Blitzo was cheered up. “What should I do?”
“Don’t let her in!” Moxxie spat.
Blitzo waltzed right to the door and opened it.
“May I rant now?” asked the hellhound.
“You may,” Blitzo responded.
Loona stomped inside. “The nerve of you guys to just leave me behind like that. I mean, did you want me to sit through another segment of royalty bitching about their outfits. When my punk clothing is superior anyway. Man Blitzo, I haven’t seen anything so embarrassing since you decided to give me spiders and sleep with that privileged asshole. Heh, you were kinda pathetic.”
She had her sharp black claws out, and her breath smelled of alcohol.
Moxxie pointed a gun at her. “Stop right there! I know that look and I’m not gonna let you hurt anyone else here, you lunatic emo meth addicted bitch!”
Loona just lowered the gun with her fingers. “If I wanted to hurt anyone here, I would’ve done so already.”
She growled and bared her fangs. “Ya know, I came because…I was thinking of helping.”
Blitzo looked confused. “Say what?”
“I wanna help you run this place. Why not, nothing else to do.” She scoffed. “Though Blitzo, your plans are ridiculous as always.”
“Why do you still have her around?” Moxxie shook his head. “She hardly answers the bone phone and has skipped work too many times to count!”
“Don’t talk about her like that, she’s fine. Sometimes she has what some people would call…ruff days.”
Loona flipped the bird before searching the fridge. “Any avocado salads here?”
“No. I already ate mine early thanks to you eating mine last time.”
“Nobody claimed it and besides, people like you don’t need lunch.”
“Hey!”
“Alright,” said Blitzo. “I’ll be happy to have you help. Just…don’t fly off the handle or get into any trouble.”
“Fair enough, whatever.”
The hellhound looked around. “Any hotel visitors around here?”
Millie mentioned to a chubby short blonde haired woman reading a magazine and humming a tune. “Just Mimzy.”
“You’re never fully dressed without a smile,” she sang.
“Meh. Not enough. Hey Millie, any extra things you can do?”
Millie grinned. I can snuggle you and give you kisses.”
“Ha! No.”
“Your loss.”
Loona sighed. “Hang on, I’ll be right back. I can sniff you a few people who might be helpful.
About fifteen minutes later, she came holding a squirming blue anglerfish demon in her paw. He was wearing a gray lab coat, yellow goggles and a hanging light from his small top hat.
“This little amphibian is Baxter,” Lonna said, dropping him.
“I-I’m Baxter,” the fish stammered. “That mutt over there just tracked me down, right when I was about to gather my ingredients for my next p-project. It’s a top secret formula that I m-must complete.” He raced around to grab more beakers, vials and a burner nearby. “It’s been a w-while since I’ve seen new people. And I don’t want to see any more. No, no, no, stay back! Back off I say!” He pointed a white shrink ray at anyone who came too close. “If you’ll e-excuse me, I must get back to work!”
Several moments later, not too far from headquarters, a white and red hellhound was strolling along listening to rock music on 90s headphones. “Why am I even here?” she thought. “I can’t believe that I’m stuck in this vast scary place.” Music and a tough front hid the insecurity underneath. She received a tap on the shoulder.
“The hell? The fuck is this?” She turned around and spotted Loona. “You!” she broke into a large toothed grin. She wore black leather, metal rings on her pointed ears and a spiked collar. Her shirt was pink red with a white skull on it. Porn magazines lined her pockets.
“Crymini,” Loona greeted, hiding a small smile.
“So glad to see you again, Loona,” Crymini replied. “Anything on your mind? What shall we do? Go for a drink? Vandalize a building after a smoke? Or we could chew on some bones of demons…they’re my favorite snack!”
“I wish,” Loona rolled her eyes at the more hyper hound. “I feel somewhat obligated to help Blitzo and company recruit more people to help promote I.M.P.”
“I think I saw commercials of it,” Crymini mentioned. “That imp killing company?”
Loona nodded.
“Wait…you work there too?”
“Pretty much. A receptionist. Filled to the brim with paperwork, calling clients and annoying fellow employees.”
“Your condition still there?” Crymini asked.
“Syphilis can go fuck itself.”
“I wish it would for your sake and mine as well.”
“One wouldn’t say being in a rock band is much easier, but it’s still pretty fun.”
“I’ve seen you play guitar and sing. Pretty good I must say.”
“Thanks! I’ll be performing at a concert later this week. Will you be there?”
“Sure,” she replied with a shrug.
“Let’s go to your headquarters then!”
Blitzo, Moxxie, Millie, Loona, Stolas, Mimzy, Baxter and Crymini were soon together at the building.
“Anyone want some booze and fresh meat?” Loona asked.
Everyone nodded in agreement.
Not too far away, concealed in bushes, a figure was watching them with orange eyes. Roo, the kangaroo Australian demon. She had white skin, wild aburn hair and wore orange. A large wide brimmed dark hat concealed her face in shadow. A parasitic creature slithered from her mouth, its body covered with white spikes and eyes.
She bared her sharp teeth, blood and liquid dropping from her mouth. One thought emitted from her head, the parasite in sync with her thoughts.
“Feast.”

Jack entered your office without knocking, an ominous stack of papers under his arm. “you’re still here, great. I need you to sort these files out before you go.” The stack fell with a thud onto your desk.
“I can’t,” you shook your head “I’m just about to head out.”
“Oh I’ve also put you on call duty this weekend,” Jack ignored you “so any plans you have cancel them.”
Your spine chilled “I can’t do this weekend. I cant I-“ you shook your head to try and stop your rising panic “I have to have this weekend off.”
“Tough luck. You’re going to want to keep you phone charged, I get a lot of emails.”
“No Jack-“
“Is there a problem?” He scowled.
The clock had struck five, he was going to be there any minute. “I can’t reschedule this plan my boyfriend’s job-“
“sweetheart can I be frank? I don’t give a shit,’ your bosses patient demeanour had gone and his normal irritation came through “I’ve got a golf game tomorrow and you were the last person to ask for time off. So you’re on this weekend.” He slammed his hand on top of the stack of papers and then turned to leave when suddenly a deafening sound came from outside. Shocked, Jack smacked his arm onto your computer, causing him to swear colourfully “WHAT IS THAT?” But you had already rushed to the window, your smile widening.
“He’s here.”
“WHO?”
You weren’t listening, grabbing your bag and throwing your coat over your arm “I’m going.”
“Is that for you?”
“Yes.” You turned once more, determination overruling your fear “Have a nice weekend Jack.” And with that, you flicked off the light switch and walked out the office. The honk was ringing down the corridor as you took the stairs two at a time before bursting out the door. A black range rover was sat in the middle of the carpark, and leaning against the bonnet was your boyfriend Chris. His eyes were covered with sunglasses but you knew his eye brows were raised in a teasing expression as he watched you stride over “are you always that dramatic when leaving work?”
“Only when my boss is being a dick.’ You reached him and cocked your head back so you could kiss him, both smiling against each other as the realisation that this moment had finally happened washed over. “Hi.”
“Hi,” Chris rested his forehead against yours and you breathed deeply, feeling the anger ebb away. “I missed you,” he whispered.
“I missed you too. I couldn’t get out of that place fast enough.”
‘I saw” Chris laughed. He pulled away to open the door next to him to reveal leather seats and your battered rucksack, bulging at the seams. “I packed everything on the list.”
“including the-“
“including my grey jumper for you to wear in the car.”
“thank youuuu,” clambering up into the seat you started to get changed, tights getting ripped and pony tails being loosened. Chris’s jumper had been washed one too many times, the fluffy interior bobbled and stretched to fit his physique; however you always wore it on these trips and had therefore become a running joke. “Where to this time?” You asked, popping your head over the collar to look over at Chris who was fiddling about with the Keys. He slid them in and a second later the car roared and shot out of the car park, the revs barking through the quiet. He didn’t answer until you had made it onto the highway.
“I’m going to keep it a surprise this time.”
“ooooo” you perked up “we haven’t done that for a while. Do I get a clue?”
“nope.”
“pleaseeeeee.”
Chris shook his head chuckling “you’ll like it I promise.” Still determined to know you sat up on your knees, leaning over the gear stick to kiss his cheek “not one hint?”
“No!” Chris laughed. You continued to ask, peppering the half of his face and neck with jokey kisses until his death went slightly ragged. “you’re going to make me crash.” He didn’t move away though, enjoying the way you bumped your nose against his cheekbone as the car steamed ahead. The car flew like a the air of you were on the run, Chris only realising when cramp started to form in his ankle from the clenching. You were so present to him in that moment his mind seems to have fogged over. Luckily You only kissed him a couple more times before sitting back, defeated. He was able to calm his pulse once again. “fine” You rolled your eyes teasingly “I guess I’ll trust you. Give me the aux cord.” You propped your bare feet up onto the dash board and plugged it into your phone and scrolled down until you found the playlist: Love on the weekend.
The weekend was something you and Chris had done for a long as you’d been dating. Although you lived in Boston near his family and spent stints in LA, work and business sometimes kept the pair of you apart for weeks if not months at a time. This had been difficult, until on a whim Chris had done what he would come to do every time; text you the night before that he was picking you up and that you two were going away together. That first time he’d taken you to a beach house where you’d spent the weekend getting a suntan and much needed alone time. That had been nearly two years ago and since the pair of you had taken trips all over the country, with nothing but a car and essentials. They had become your favourite tradition together.
The first song of the playlist started and Chris nodded his head in satisfaction “yessss!’ He pumped his foot on the gas and the car shot down the fast lane, leaving the traffic behind. The music swelled until the rough voice of Journey’s “Don’t stop believing” was blasting through the speakers, matched only by Chris’ rendition. He was tossing his head about and giving it his all, making you laugh so hard you felt the breath pound against your throat and your chest started to tense. The tipping point was when on the final high note your boyfriend’s voice cracked dramatically, to which you had to dig your hands in-between your clenched thighs to stop you from peeing. God it was so good to laugh like this again.
The speakers continued to blast out classics, raging from Kanye West to Disney to Prince until both your voices were frayed and your chests ached from laughing. At one point there was no sound from either of you except for wheezing and knee slapping. You were like children, bubbling with energy and excitement as the feeling of each other there made you giddy.
“We’re nearly there,” Chris was able to heave out later, breathing deliberately to even out his chuckles “keep an eye out for the right exit.”
“exit for what?”
“I’m still not telling you.”
“How am I going to know what the right exit is if I don’t know where we’re going?”
“Hey I gave you a name just trust me.” He reached out and patted your knee, before slowly moving his hand up to rest on your thigh. There was nothing suggestive about it, but you felt your body melt under his touch as he continued to drive. He hummed to the dulcet tones of John Mayer and would occasionally have to shift in his seat but he made sure to keep your thigh at arms length. His palm stayed soft and warm against you as the car pulled off the highway and drove down strips of long roads under golden sun stained foliage. One rumbling dirt track later and the car rolled into an opening, where it stopped and slumped, exhausted. Chris breathed, smiled, and squeezed your leg “we’re here.”
The house sat snuggled in the trees, overlooking a lake that shone brightly. White walls, blue tiles roof, a rickety dock that rocked slightly against the wind. It looked exactly the same as it did in the pictures that were hung around the Evan’s family home. You gasped in excitement “This is the place-“
“From my childhood pictures,” Chris nodded.
“The place you said you’d always take me,” you placed your hand on top of his “I can’t believe you did this.” In your excitement you leant over the gear stick and grabbed Chris’s face In between your hands “Thank you thank you Thank you!” You planted one big kiss on his lips causing him to laugh loudly before leaping out the car, your bare feet lacing with the grass. The pair of you grabbed the bags from the car and dragged them up into the house, abandoning them in the hall way to explore your home for the weekend. An open floor plan of polished wooden floors, white furniture and blue wallpaper stretched through the house, with soft corduroy sofas and shelves of thumbed classic books and board games. It was a weird mix of modern and old; as if time didn’t effect it. You were running around the house, calling for Chris to see something before discovering something else and getting even more excited. When Chris still hadn’t come after the fifth time you called you went clattering down the stairs to find him in the kitchen, already pulling things out of the stocked fridge “pesto eggs?” He asked.
“MMMM YES!” You yelled in excitement. “Sorry,” you quietened “sorry. Yes please.”
“I take it you like the house then?’ “Is this the part of the story where you tell me you’ve bought it?” You slid onto one of the stools by the island, nicking a bit of red pepper from the chopping board.
“ Unfortunately not.”
“shame. I would’ve quit work on the spot to move.”
“It’s that stressful huh?”
“You have no idea.”
Chris stopped stirring “so tell me about it.”
You shook your head, running your hands through your hair once before letting them fall on the table “I don’t want to weigh you down with that. You don’t wanna hear about that.”
“Yes I do,” Chris said “its obviously bothering you.”
“Not tonight Chris. Please.” You didn’t want to think about anything negative this weekend. Not with the limited time you had with him. “your eggs are burning by the way.”
“Huh? Oh Shit,” Chris went back to wildly stirring the contents of his pan, and the conversation was dropped.
************
The next couple days felt like the montage to a rom com movie, a warped bubble where negative thoughts and emotions weren’t allowed to penetrate. There was a lot to Catch up with so the pair of you didn’t waste a single minute. Swimming in the lake, running together through the woods, playing chess whilst drinking too much beer. A lot of random hugs and heated make outs that lead to other things that caused your skin to flush and tingle. This was partly due to Your shoulders getting burnt, resulting with Chris finding great pleasure in occasionally smacking the sensitive skin causing you to scream blue murder whilst chasing after him.
‘I still think I’ll have a hand imprint on my shoulder forever,” you joked. It was the last night and you were cooking whilst Chris picked the movie. He was crouched by the shelfs, his recently showered hair peering his grey t shirt with droplets. “What movie we thinking?” He called.
“hmmmm How about Captain America?”
“Funny.” Chris rolled his eyes. You laughed before diving down to retrieve the steaming dish of Chicken and vegetable pasta from the oven and dishing into bowls.
“Babe! You’ll never guess what movie they have.” Chris lifted the DVD case like a trophy, the title in your direction. You read it and gasped excitedly “About Time? Oh my days yes!”
“You’re gonna cry.”
“I am not.”
“You say that every time.”
“well this time I can definitely say that I will not cry!”
*************
“It’s just” you stuttered, “it just so…so” you had to gulp loudly through the raked sobs “so sad!” Bill Nighy and the little boy started skimming stones on the beach, causing you to whimper loudly, more tears streaming down your flushed cheeks.
“I told you you would cry,” Chris said, but his own eyes were watery and his jaw clenched in emotion. Seeing this made you even more upset and you started to grip onto the pillow, holding your breath so to stop the sobs. It didn’t work. Chris couldn’t stand it anymore; part of him obviously wanted to comfort you but also your turmoil was starting to become comical. “sweetheart,” he laughed “come here.” He dragged you over to sit in between his legs, your back against his chest so he could try and stop you from crying. ‘I’m fine, I’m fine,” you breathed “I’m not going to-oh my god they’re hugging.” The crying was uncontrollable now “This is the last hug they’re ever going to have together.”
“Okay you need to tell me whats wrong now,” Chris’ tone shifted to worry. He’d never seen you this upset over this movie before “hey, hey. Talk to me.”
“I don’t want you to leave me tomorrow.”
“what?”
“You’re going to leave tomorrow and I’ll be left with an apartment that is too big for just one person, a job I hate and the constant reminder that these weekends are the only things that I actually enjoy in life.”
The movie continued to play but Chris wasn’t watching anymore. Instead he sat there, struggling to find the right words to say. He didn’t want to ask, you’d specifically told him not to ask this weekend, the itch of knowing was starting to burn in his brain. “What’s wrong with work?”
You huffed, flinging your head back to knock against his shoulder “I hate it Chris. I used to love working there, but I just can’t do it anymore. The last time I had a weekend off was our last weekend 3 months ago.”
“why?”
“Because Jack makes me work so he can piss about golfing and spend the weekends screwing his assistant. I see the texts,” you nodded as Chris’s eyebrows shot up in surprise “they’re just as awful as you can imagine.”
“Why didn’t you tell me this?”
“about the affair? It’s not tha-“
“No. About work.”
“Oh.” You shrugged, wiping the back of your sleeve across your face “I didn’t want you to worry about me that’s all.” Feeling your boyfriend huff you felt yourself get defensive “you’re away for so long I didn’t want you to have to take off anymore time than you had to just because my career turned shit.”
‘That’s not fair,” Chris shook his head “I should’ve known.”
“Why? What would’ve you done?’ You were sitting up now, frowning at him, arms crossed “Quit your work and moved back full time to Boston?’ “Maybe!”
“No you wouldn’t of!”
“But at least I would’ve had that option!” His eyes flashed with a mixture of pain and annoyance “Y/N how am I supposed to be there for you if you don’t tell me these things?”
“That’s not fair Chris.”
“NO,” he snapped “what’s not fair is finding out that you’re feeling like this and yet I was the last person to know!”
“If you were here more YOU’D KNOW!”
There was a horrible silence. Shocked, you put your fingers over your lips, as if trying to grab back the words that were still ringing through the room. You were both shocked; hurt plastered on both your faces. You wanted to take them back, to rewind time so you could start this conversation again, to finish this weekend in a way that you will treasure and picture for the next weeks as you wait for him to come home to you. “I’m sorry.” You finally spoke “I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean it.”
Chris nodded slowly, and you noticed that his eyes were glistening with tears and you felt your brain screaming in fear and your heart be squished like a juice box “yea you did.”
“NO! No I didn’t.” You pulled him closer “I’m just upset about work, I’m taking it out on you.”
“But you do wish It don’t you?” Chris whispered.
“Of course I wish you were here more,” You nodded “but acting’s your dream. Of course I want you to be doing that.”
“Im so sorry Babe,” he pushed out a heavy sigh to stop the emotions from stunting his voice “I wish I knew how bad it was.”
“It’s not your fault You didn’t know. I wasn’t telling you.”
“I should’ve picked up on it. If I’d known I’d-“
“It’s not your fault Chris. I’m sorry for not telling you.”
Chris smiled softly. He wrapped his arms around your shoulders, locking his hands together so you were pressed against his shoulder. He kissed the top of your head, nodding slightly “This was not how I was thinking this conversation was going to go.”
You laughed, snorting slightly due to the snot that had built up from your previous sobs “me neither.”
“And I was looking forward to telling you about my plans for after the movie.”
You felt your heart sink slightly. These conversations were always awfully painful. “Did your agent get another script for you?”
“Actually no. He won’t be getting me any for a while.”
“What?’ You looked up at him, confused “why?”
“because I told him I didn’t want any. Because I’m taking a little break.”
‘Chris? Please say you didn’t do that because of me!”
“only partly,” Chris smiled guiltily “I just miss Boston. I miss my parents, My nieces and nephews, You. I just want to spend some time here. Spending time with my family.”
The tears were falling again, only this time they were ones of happiness “you serious? You’re coming home?”
Chris nodded, savouring this moment for as long as he could. “5 more weeks and then I’m yours.”
******************
The Boston skyline had never looked so unwelcoming. Despite the sunrise bathing the windows with molten pink and blue reflections, they were a reminder that you were back in reality. You’d left the house early that morning with the remise you’d return in the summer with the whole family. It had still been difficult to say goodbye. The entire drive back you and Chris only spoke a few times, both too nervous of what to say in these last moment. Chris’s hand was back on your thigh, but this time your hand was intertwined with his, your only lifeline from breaking down into uncontrollable tears once more. Although this was the last goodbye you’d have to say for a long time, this one felt the most difficult because of the reality of what they were going back to. The buildings of the city grew thicker and thicker as you drove down main streets and over bridges until all too soon the looming signs floor your office building started to come, and then the ruling for the carpark, and in no time at all Chris was pulling into one of the visitors spots and switching off the engine. “we’re here.”
“yea.” A silence. “ Thanks for dropping me off by the way.”
“Yea of course.” Chris swallowed. Neither of you moved. No one made the move to say goodbye. But you knew it was going to happen, and your grip on his hand got tighter as you realised that now was the moment to let go.
In the end it was him. It left you feeling empty, like you’d dropped something into water and you knew that you were never going to get it back, and that’s when the tears started to fall again. In a moment Chris jumped out of the car and ran over to your side of the car, opening your door so he was able to scoop you into a hug. “ I know,” he whispered as you clung to him “ I know.”
“i don’t know if I can do this Chris,” you sniffed into his neck.
“Yes you can. You can sweetheart. Remember what we said.” He kissed your ear lightly “Just five more weeks. Five more weeks and the I’m home, you can quit your job here and we’ll figure something out together okay? Okay?” His tone made you move your gaze so you were looking at his wide eyed expression, full of promise and reassurance “We’ll figure this out together.”
“Five weeks.”
“five weeks and then I’m yours.”
You nodded, sniffing “Okay,” You breathed “Okay I’ll do it.”
“You can do it.” He kissed you then, and his lips tasted of salt but they were familiar and warm and his, and you already missed him so much five weeks suddenly felt like a lifetime.
“I am,” he rested his head against yours once more “so proud of you. I really am.”
You nodded. You kissed him as long as your lungs could muster and this time you let go, flattening your skirt and slipping on your heels as Chris grabbed your bags from the boot and handing them to you. He kissed you once more, told you he loved you and then walked back around to sit in the car. You walked around to his door and leaned in through the open window to kiss him again.
“I can’t watch you walk away,” he confessed “because if I do all I’ll want to do is stay.”
You nodded “That’s fine. I’ll see you in five weeks.”
‘Five weeks.”
“I love you Chris.”
One more kiss, and then he pushed the car into gear and pulled away, leaving you to wave goodbye to him. As he did, the windows rolled down, and a second later you heard the opening chords to “Love on the weekend” play. He didn’t look back, but you knew that he too was already counting down the days until the next time you two could see each other.

*I guess I’ll use the same gif because the other gifs aren’t loading.
Y/n kicks off her shoes near the front door and goes up the stairs to her room. She flops onto her bed and picks up her sketchbook from the night stand. Grabbing a pencil she sketches a simple drawing of her dad’s, based off a picture inside a little pink frame that’s laying on her desk. Y/n is sitting on Freddie’s lap. Both of them are wearing plastic tiaras and feather boas,eating cake. It’s from her second birthday.
Her art style has varied during her four years on YouTube but it typically stays within a cartoon like style, roundish characters with thick outlines. Many of her professors hated the style but she never really cared what they said, as most of the artwork that they preferred were sad people, or too pretentious for Y/n’s liking. She didn’t really show many people her artwork offline in “real life” due to many of their “criticisms”.
Y/n sets down her sketchbook, and walks over to her cabinet of art supplies, mostly gifted to her by the companies for reviewing it, or from art subscription boxes. She pulls out two watercolor palettes one for the skin tones, and another for bright metallic neons. Y/n tosses some fine liner markers onto her bed followed by the pallet.
She drops herself onto the bed and starts erasing the lines lightly so she can line them with the markers. Rolling the kneaded eraser in her hands, Y/n starts thinking: This movie is going to change things. The only reason I’m not hounded by reporters is because I stay in and stay out of the spotlight. Me helping on this movie, thrusts me into some spotlight. I’m also a woman so there’s that added pressure.
Y/n puts down her eraser and closes her sketchbook. She walks to the bathroom and stares into the mirror. She rubs the bottom of her chin, bumpy due to the acne that wanted to stick around and takes the pony-tail holder out of her hair. Spotlight, do I need an esthetician, or a glam squad when I leave the house? Am I British Kardashian? I mean I have the ass of one, and that’s from take-away. Are people going to expect me to dress like my dad?
Y/n shakes her head of all the crazy thoughts and started the water for a nice soothing bath. She finds the four bath bubblers from Lush and crumbles them under the faucet. The bubbles and foam threaten to overfill the tub. Y/n strips off her jumper and jeans. She carefully sinks into the bath. Her phone rings to the custom ring meaning that her Uncle John is calling. Y/n carefully stands up and grabs her phone.
“How was the business dinner?” John asks once Y/n picks up.
“You knew.” Y/n says exasperated shaking her head.
“You didn’t?” John adds.
“Nope, disguised it like a family dinner. There’s gonna be a Queen movie, by the way.” Y/n adds.
“Are you going to be on set?” John asks.
“No I’m just gonna let them fuck my dad’s image up the arse.” Y/n sasses her uncle.
“Language Y/n, who the fuck taught you those words.” John sasses back.
“Did you just want to sass your niece or is there a reason for this lovely phone call?” Y/n asks
“Luke said you seemed upset after the dinner, and I wanted to check up on you.” John says.
“Uncle John, you’re getting sappy.” Y/n teases.
“Let a grouchy old man care about his niece, who needs to visit him more.” John replies.
“I’m sensing you also want me to visit because I made chocolate cake and brought it the last time.” Y/n muses.
“Call it a consolation prize.” John offers.
“Are you saying that you were suffering because my presence was not there.” Y/n says dramatically.
“Severely.” John sasses her with his dramatics.
“I’ll come by more.” Y/n adds, “ With cake.”
The typical goodbyes are said and Y/n hangs up the phone to enjoy the rest of her bubble bath.
She carefully gets out and grabs a towel to dry off, then puts on a fluffy purple robe.
I need to edit, record a voice over, and then go back to the drawing.
Y/n walks over to her desk and sits down ready to edit. The video she filmed yesterday is a review of a subscription box and using the art supplies in it. The sketch went well but as she went on to color it, something seemed off and it looked better in black and white. This sometimes happened when she worked with a supply she wasn’t familiar with like makers. She speed up the sketching and erasing portion of the video and shortened the thirty minutes of drawing down to fifteen minutes, including the initial opening and swatching of the materials. Y/n takes a sip of water and plugs in her microphone to record her commentary.
She begins introducing the video and its main contents being the box and the challenge of using all the materials in it to make something. Y/n during the swatching section says the colors of markers: a mustard yellow, olive green, and a cranberry red might be a little difficult to use together, and that she isn’t very comfortable with markers but she’ll make the best of it. The first idea for her challenge is to draw a person but every practice attempt was erased because she didn’t like the head, or the proportions.
Y/n finally decided on drawing a badger wearing a yellow bobble-hat, sitting on a moss covered log, eating berries. Her commentary ranged from artistic decisions, to wonder what badgers actually eat, or if a badger could comprehend the color yellow and all it’s majesticness. Most people that watch her videos enjoy her ramblings in the background as they see a piece go from a brainstorm to a finished project, because she seems so genuine and a little odd. Y/n signs off from her video in the traditional way with “ Stay weird, Stay Mad, and always draw with Mercury.”
She chose the name Drawing With Mercury, for two reasons: one, Y/n’s favorite Disney movie has always been Alice in Wonderland, especially for the character, Mad Hatter, and two, she wanted to use her last name since, it’s a pretty cool last name, and you only live once. She uploaded her first video and received a warm welcome from her subscribers. In the beginning there were a few mean comments but they weren’t about her appearance as she only showed her hands in her videos.
Y/n splices the audio with the video and rewatches herself draw, erase, draw again, ink, then color her drawing. She uploads the video and waits for it to be complete which for this video and with her wifi connection it would take around an hour. She opens her sketchbook back to the drawing of her birthday with Dad and takes out her water color pallet. Dipping her water brush pen into the paint, a small tear dripped from her eyes, fell from her cheek and onto the corner of the page.
“I miss you, Dad.” Y/n says to no one as she fills in his face with color.
There was no copying the photograph perfectly. Freddie in the pictures, looking down at his messy daughter with chocolate cake on her face, his face shows nothing but adoration and pure happiness. It was his idea for a princess party, since every Sunday the three of them would have tea parties and Y/n always loved dressing up. Y/n looking up at her dad with same look in her eyes as his.
Y/n rubs her eyes and continues painting the party outfits, even the feather boas and tiaras. She puts the sketchbook on her dresser letting the paint dry and falls onto her bed. She opens her small jewelry box on her nightstand and takes out her silver heart locket with a smaller heart diamond on the front. Y/n opens the locket looking at the small picture of her Dad and Papa.
“I miss you, Papa.” She says again, to no one.
She lightly kisses the locket and puts it back in the box, and puts it in the first drawer of the night stand. Y/n pulls the covers tightly around herself and slowly falls asleep to the rain hitting the roof.

Star Crossed Rivalry: Part 8
Pairings: Opie x Reader (SOA/TWD MC AU Crossover ) Negan daughter!Reader
Warnings: Swearing, Fluff, little bit of Angst
Word Count: 5,231
Part 1 / Part 2 / Part 3 / Part 4 / Part 5 / Part 6 / Part 7
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You and Opie had decided before you even left North Carolina that you were not, in any way, setting an alarm clock. You were in zero rush to get up, zero rush to go anywhere, and zero rush to do anything but relax. Away from home, away from the club, away from people that just walked in to your house for no reason what so ever. The only alarm clock you were going to run by was Hunter.
You still couldn’t believe how fortunate you were with your son. Even your dad said it. Since neither of you had to work, since your income came from basically existing as Negan’s daughter, you kept Hunter on a later night, later wake up sleeping pattern. He went to bed around ten thirty, which meant he didn’t wake up until at least eight fifteen. You honestly didn’t understand why other parents didn’t follow in your foot steps, nor did you understand why it made you a ‘bad parent’ (thank you to the judgmental bitch at Walmart that gave you shit for getting Opie’s birthday shopping done at ten at night with your wide awake baby) for still enjoying your sleep. But damn did you absolutely love your decision.
His cute little half babbles woke you, and you couldn’t help but smile like you did every morning. And just like he still did every morning, your husband stuck his arm out to find you in bed. You tangled your feet with his as he slid his hand down your stomach and under the hem of your panties.
“Opie!” You hissed as you rolled on the bed to look back at him. “He’s…”
“Shhh!” He said as he kissed your shoulder, and slid his other hand up your shirt. “He’s still asleep…” He smirked down at you as he rolled you on to your back and shifted between your legs. “And I want to fuck my wife.”
“Ope! Ooo!” You said as he pulled your panties to the side and pushed the head of his cock into your core. He shushed you again and glanced over at the crib beside the bed and your sleeping son to make sure he didn’t wake up.
“You can do this, baby.” He said as he looked back down at you and rolled his hips forward. “You can stay super, super quiet for me…” You nodded your head, and laced your fingers in his hair as he kissed your forehead. “Because if you fucking wake him, then this stops.” You nodded your head and bit your lip to stay quiet when he snapped his hips forward. Your head continued to nod like a bobble head as he kept a steady pace, filling you repeatedly and perfectly.
In the year and a half that you had been together, your husband had learned your body better than you knew it yourself and yet he still managed to surprise you every time you were intimate. He knew the exact angle to hold your legs and angle his hips to make a jolt of electricity race through your veins. He knew exactly where to kiss on the front of your throat that sent a shiver up your spine. He knew how hard you liked your hair pulled to make you whined his name the way he fucking adored so damn much… and he knew exactly how much pressure you needed on your clit to get you to cum.
“Come on, baby.” He whispered as he moved his thumb to your bud and pressed down, bringing you both right over to the edge in only a few moments, when someone knocked on your door. You and Opie both grunted in protest, mid-orgasm, as Hunter startled, and started to cry.
“Mother fucker.” You said as the two of you scrambled apart to answer the door, and tend to your son as well. You grabbed a large, slightly still damp pool towel from the bathroom to wrap around your body as whoever was at the door knocked again. You yanked the door open, and scowled at your dad’s smiling face.
“The fuck were you fucking doing?” He chuckled as he leaned against the door frame.
“Sleeping. What do you want, Dad?” You snapped as you clutched the towel around you a little more.
“I came for Hunter.” He said as he gestured to the room behind you. “Frankie’s still passed out, it’s too fucking early to start drinking, and I’m not fucking wandering around a fucking Disney cruise alone.” You nodded your head as you turned your head to look back at Ope, who was changing his son’s wet diaper.
“Give me a second.” Negan chuckled, nodded his head, and leaned back against the wall to wait as you closed the door in his face.
“I’m gunna kill him.” Ope said with a shake of his head as you grabbed his jeans from the night before, and tossed them at him. “Yea, I’m gunna kill your Pop, little man.”
“Just put the jeans on.” You laughed as you pulled your sundress from the hamper you brought and threw it on over your tank top. When he buttoned the top of his pants, you went over and let your dad in to collect his grandson. “What time is it, anyways?” You asked him as you grabbed a bottle from the mini fridge cooler you brought with you, and put it in the bottle warmer the cruise line graciously supplied you.
“Eight am.” He said as he leaned against your closet door. “And I’m starving. So since you two are so obviously… still tired.” He said with a smirk, loving that he had just interrupted you. “I’m just going to bring my main man to breakfast with me.”
“Better not use him to pick up chicks.” You said as you handed him your diaper bag and waited for the bottle to finish warming. “And make sure you do the bottle first.”
“I know how to fucking parent.” He sighed as Opie grabbed a plain black onesie from the drawer.
“Bibs are still mandatory.” Opie said as he pulled the onesie on, and kissed his son’s head.
“Waste of time.” Negan said as he stood exactly where he was, creating an awkward tension in the room that he absolutely loved as you both said a temporary good bye to your son. When the bottle was finally done, he took it and his grandson with a smile. “Let’s go, little man. Mommy and Daddy wanna fuck.”
“God damn it.” You groaned as your dad walked out the door with a laugh.
“I really hate him sometimes.” Opie said half jokingly as you watched the door close behind him. When it clicked, you looked back over at Opie with a shrug.
“Wanna fuck?” He laughed, and nodded as he came over to pull off your sundress and the tank top you slept in.
“Fucking obviously!”
——
“Well look who finally decided to get outta effin bed.” Negan chuckled as he glanced up at you, Opie, and Frankie, who you had run in to in the elevator on her way up to the Cabanas restaurant breakfast buffet. “Look who it is, bubba.”
“Shut up.” Frankie groaned as she sat down in the chair of the table closest to the corner of the room in typical Negan fashion.
“I was talking about the bunnies.” He chuckled as he got another spoonful of food for his grandson. “Because we need another one of you, right Hunter?”
“Leave ‘em alone, Negan!” Frankie snapped before you could even open your mouth. All three of your eyebrows shot up as Frankie’s face turned bright red.
“Holy shit.” You and Opie said at the same time.
“Baby…”
“OK.” Negan said with a nod, stunned that someone other than you actually stood up to him. “I’ll leave them alone… until the next time I catch them fucking like rabbits.”
“You’re impossible.” Frankie sighed as she grabbed his coffee and glared at him when he tried to stop her.
“Well will you look at that. Someone else willing to stand up to big bad Negan.” You chuckled as you ripped a piece of bacon in half and ate it with a giant, cocky smile.
“Shut up, brat.” Your dad growled as he gave Hunter another spoonful of food.
“I think Frankie’s gunna give you a run for your money on picking on your dad, hun.” Opie chuckled, grateful that he had an entire table between him and your dad. “I think I’m gunna get a scoreboard…”
“Son-in-law or not, I will fucking kill you.” Your father growled as you smirked at your plate to hide it and pat Opie’s thigh.
“Alright, that’s enough.” You said as you looked up and grabbed your coffee. You looked over at Frankie and smiled. “I would totally win though.”
“I only snap at him when I’m hungover.” She said as she cut her Mickey waffles.
“She’s much more respectful than the brat I gave life too.” Negan responded as he set Hunter’s spoon in the empty baby food container. “And despite that, I have a surprise for you all the same. Well, mostly for my main man, here.” He said as he wiped off Hunter’s face with his napkin. “I found the shore excursion desk this morning. And I know you guys said you weren’t committing to anything like that because no fucking alarm clocks and shit… But I changed your minds for you. Well Hunter did.” He said as stood Hunter up on his thighs. He screeched happily and bounced as his hazel eyes searched the dining room over Opie’s head.
“I found a boat tour in Grand Cayman. We don’t get there ’til well after your fucking functioning time. Tours at one, it’s only a two hour trip total max. It’s a half boat, half fucking submarine thing, safe for Hunter. The dude said it’s got enough shit to see out the windows in the water that he’ll be entertained the whole damn time. I just…” He sighed as he looked up at his grandson with so much love it broke your heart. You hadn’t realized that sending you on this cruise for your honeymoon and his anniversary meant so much more to him until that exact moment.
“You’ll do right by him, Daddy.” You whispered as you reached over at touched his arm. “It’s OK.” He nodded his head and kept his slightly tear filled eyes on your son as Opie grabbed your empty coffee mug and his and got up with Frankie right on his heels.
“I fucked up with you, princess.” He said as he looked down at you. “I really fucked up.”
“I know.” You said with a nod. “And you can’t take it back. But you can make it better. For me, for him.” He nodded his head as Hunter flopped down on his lap and babbled away to the older woman at the next table. “Life’s too short, Dad, so don’t beat yourself up for that shit. You can let me live out my second childhood vicariously through my son. Don’t live his life in regret for the past. Live in gratitude that you have a second chance to make your grandson’s life the best fucking experience it can be. And starting off with a Disney cruise.” You said with a nod as you leaned back in your chair. “Win.” He nodded his head some more and kissed the top of Hunter’s head to hide his tears.
“You make me fucking proud, (Y/N).” He said as he looked up at you with a small smile. “I don’t deserve to be your dad.”
“You don’t.” You said with a huffed laugh as Opie came back over with your coffee. “But then again, no one does. So you’re stuck with me.” His face dropped as he took the cup of coffee Frankie brought him, and held it out of Hunter’s grasp.
“And then you go opening your fucking mouth.” He sighed with a shake of his head. “Alright, take Hunter. I’m avoiding you for the rest of the sea day because you’re already a pain in my fucking ass and you haven’t been up for a fucking hour.”
“Bye, Dad.” You laughed as you sat Hunter on your lap as Negan grabbed Frankie’s half full plate and silverware for her. “Bye Frankie.”
“See you at dinner! It’s formal night!” She said over her shoulder. You looked over at your husband with a sigh and shook your head.
“How the fuck did our honeymoon become a therapy session for me and my dad and me and my dad’s fucking girlfriend?”
“Because you’re stuck on a boat with them away from the club.” He said as he stabbed a sausage link. “Opposite of the reason why he doesn’t open up at home.”
“It’s still strange to see.” You sighed as you cut your waffles with one hand while holding your son with the other so he could continue to talk to and laugh at the woman at the next table that was now making faces at him. “But I guess I can be grateful, right? My dad’s finally growing up. It just took a new girlfriend and a grandson to do it.”
“You can’t look at it like that, baby.” Opie said with a shake of his head. “Or you’ll resent him…”
“I know.” You said around your bite with a nod. “You’re right.”
“I’m usually right.” He chuckled. “I just let you think you’re always right… Ow!” You laughed as he rubbed his arm where you flicked him.
“I’m the one that’s always right.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Look at you!” You laughed as you tried so hard not to laugh at your son as you switched out his little sun hat with a baby sombrero at a little store along the main road near Cozumel, Mexico’s port. “You’re such a little cutie!”
“Why do you do this to him?” Opie asked as you kissed Hunter’s cheek, pulled your phone from your back pocket, and handed it to your husband.
“Because I know, one day, he will have a girlfriend.” You said as you put a hat on your own head and hiked your chunkster son up on your hip. “Or a boyfriend, I don’t really give a shit. But I know that photos like this, will either embarrass the shit out of him or make him laugh.” You smiled up at your husband and tilted your head to the side. “I’m just trying to be a good mother.”
“Just so you know.” He chuckled as he took the pictures for you. “I’m telling him it is all your fault.”
“That’s fine.” You said with a smile as you did a little dance with your baby boy. “I’m gunna be the most embarrassing Mommy in the world!” You sang to him, making him squeal in laugher when you carefully dipped him.
“Oh, Hunter, I wish I could save you.” Opie said with a shake of his head as he took another picture for himself. “But I really, really can’t.”
“They have a fucking tequila store.” Negan said as he came out of the jewelry store with Frankie. You involuntarily gaged at the thought of tequila and shook your head.
“Nope.” You said simply. “Y’all can go.”
“Wanna come with me to find a bathroom?” Frankie asked instead as she handed Negan her bag. You nodded your head as you replaced Hunter’s sombrero with his sun hat and put him back in the stroller for a moment.
“I’m pretty sure there’s a Starbucks up here a ways.” You said as you gestured up the road. “We’ll meet you outside the tequila store.” Ope nodded his head and followed his father-in-law to the store two doors down and you and Frankie kept walking to find the Starbucks. “I hate tequila.” You said with a glance in the giant picture window. “I used to love it but ever since I got pregnant, everything about it just…” You gagged again and shook your head. “Nope. Fuck no.”
“I grew out of my tequila days.” She said as you stopped at a street corner to wait to cross. You glanced over at her a split second before a small revolver was subtly placed directly between her shoulder blades.
“Vamanos.” A man growled as he put his hand on your shoulder and turned you to your right to lead you deeper into the city.
“OK.” You said with a nod as you grabbed Frankie’s hand and gave it a tight squeeze. “OK, come on, let’s go this way.” You said as you looked over at her now tear stained face. “Stay calm, OK. Just stay calm.” She nodded her head as tears poured down her cheeks as you glanced up at the street sign in front of you. You took in as many details as you could as the man lead you to an early 2000’s model, silver Nissan Sentra that was parked facing out of an alley a few blocks from the port. You memorized the license plate as best as you could as he popped the trunk, and shoved Frankie toward it with his gun.
“Get in, Frankie.” You said shakily as your abductor handed you a roll of duct tape. “Give me your hands. Together like you’re praying.” She looked up at you in sheer terror as you pulled the edge of the tape free. “Trust me.” With a small nod, she held out her hands and choked out a sob as the gun was pressed into the back of your head.
“Vamos!” The man shouted, making you tape Frankie’s wrist together faster, knowing full well you’d be able to help her out and learning really quickly that this guy was an amateur.
“Back up, sweetie.” You said to her as the man yanked the roll of tape from your hands.
“Siéntate!” You nodded your head as you turned around and willingly held out your hands toward him, knowing that you were going to escape no matter what. You studied the man’s features, forcing yourself to keep breathing just like your dad always taught you, as he tapped your hands tightly as if that would make a difference.
“No, (Y/N)…” Frankie begged as you scooted back into the trunk once he was done.
“Just hang on, sweetie.” You said as you laid down in front of her, using your small frame to block hers from your attacker. He kept his gun on you and put his finger over his mouth, telling you to stay silent, before he slammed the trunk closed. Frankie yelled ‘no’ as you instantly got to work.
“Why is this happening?” She sobbed as you looked around for a glow in the dark trunk release tab.
“Hey, I need you to stop for a second.” You said as you moved on to finding something to force the release open. “You forget… I’m Negan’s daughter. Escaping trunks is something he taught me young. Roll up against the seats.”
“I wanna go home.” She sobbed as you pulled up the panel of flooring. You felt around as best as you could as the car pulled into traffic until your fingertips felt a metal tire iron.
“Fuck yea.” You gasped as you stretched a little bit farther, and pulled it free. “Alright, Frankie. I need you to listen to me.” You said as you scooted over in the small space. “The second I pop this trunk, we gotta run. You run straight down the road, and you don’t fucking stop for anything, you hear me?” You heard her hum ‘yes’ as you wedged the tire iron near the latch as best as you could. You only had to wait a few moments for the car to slow down before you yanked down the tire iron as hard as you could and popped the trunk open.
“Run!” You screamed as you gripped your new weapon in your still taped hands and helped Frankie out of the trunk. The two of you took off like bullets as the car screeched to a halt behind you. “Stay in the road!” You yelled as you pushed her with the bent end of the crow bar to run between the two lanes of cars. You could see the ocean in front of you and you kept telling yourself that you were going to make it back home as you dipped through traffic to get home. Your legs ached and your lungs burned with each breath in the heavy humidity, but you didn’t let that stop you. You just knew that if you stopped, you’d be dead.
“Here, turn here!” You shouted over the dozens of horns from drivers angry at you for one reason or another. Frankie followed your instructions blindly as you ran down the main strip back toward the port. You could see your husband’s figure, looming over the cops around him a few blocks up and you let out a sigh of relief. “OPIE!” He whipped around and even from a distance you could see the range of emotions roll though his being. He took off at a run with the stroller to get to you as your father shoved another tourist out of his way to get to Frankie.
“PPE 95 71.” You said as you held out the crow bar to him. “Silver Nissan Sentra. Before 2002.”
“OK, OK. Let me…”
“I got it.” You said as he reached to help you get the duct tape. You lifted your hands above your head, stuck your elbows as far as they would go, and pulled your palms toward your stomach hard, and fast, just like Negan was teaching Frankie. The second you were free, Opie pulled you into his arms and you began to shake violently.
“You’re safe.” He whispered as he rubbed your back. “You’re safe now.”
“I wanna go back to the boat.” You said as tears fell from your eyes. “’s’not safe.”
“Alright, let’s go back.” He agreed with a nod.
“’s’not safe.” You repeated as you looked over at your son. “’s’not safe.” You took a step over and tried to unbuckle the straps to the carseat but you were shaking too badly to do so.
“Hey, hey.” Opie said as he stepped over and gently grabbed your wrists. “Look at me.” Your tear filled whipped up to his hazel ones as he gently pulled off the rest of the tape and dropped it on the ground by the tire iron. “Let’s get on the boat first. It’s… it’s too hot out to carry him all the way back in the sun without the fan.” You nodded your head, not really hearing his reasoning but trusting your husband with your life and your safety.
“She OK?” Negan asked as he held Frankie to his chest. Opie nodded as he moved you between his body and the stroller.
“She wants to go back to the ship.” Negan nodded as the police stepped forward to get a statement. They started rapid firing questions, making you more and more uncomfortable. You needed space, you needed to get away, and you really needed to feed your crying son.
“I just wanna go!” You screamed at them as you tried to push the stroller forward.
“OK, we’re going.” Opie said with a nod as he purposely boxed you in against the stroller. “Pull the cover down, hun.” You nodded numbly and did what was asked as Negan tried to lead Frankie after you. And officer made the mistake of stepping in his way and you turned your head over at the sound of his growl.
“I suggest you get the FUCK out of my fucking way!” He roared as he picked Frankie up in his arms. “We’ve got nothing to fucking say and you can’t fucking keep us here. You want a formal statement, you can fucking contact Romeo Parada!” Hearing the well known cartel member’s name, the officers instantly stepped back and let him through. “(Y/N), walk.” You nodded your head and continued walking toward the port in front of Opie.
“You called Romeo?” You asked your dad as he shifted his shocked girlfriend in his arms.
“Abso-fucking-lutely.” He said with a nod. “He’s flying here now. The CIA has been trying to keep track of fucking sex traffickers in Mexico.” You felt Opie stumble a bit behind you as his head whipped over to your dad.
“CIA?”
“Not now.” Negan said as he turned down the docks toward the boat. “Later.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Opie didn’t know what to do or how to help… and he was a little confused that you didn’t seem more fazed by what happened. He did know, however, that you wouldn’t admit if he wasn’t right up against you, you were silently freaking out. So he sat on the bed, with you between his legs, and Hunter in front of your crossed legs so you could hold him up on the bed to work his leg muscles more.
“He’s getting close to crawling.” You said a little flatly as you studied the little boy’s face, noticing how he looked more and more like Opie each and every day. “I almost missed it…”
“But you didn’t.” He said as he rubbed your back. “You get to see it.” You nodded your head and startled the slightest bit when someone knocked on the door. “It’s alright, baby girl.” He said as he pulled his long leg back and scooted around you to see if it was yet another member of the cruise staff, Negan, or Romeo. Your whole body stiffened as you pulled Hunter toward you until Romeo walked into the room with two members of the Mexico police.
“PPE 95 71.” You repeated with a sigh of relief.
“OK, hold on.” Romeo said as he came over to give you a kiss on the cheek. “Let me get set up. Then start from the beginning.” You nodded your hand as you reached out your hand for your husband. He moved back behind you as Romeo pulled out a tape recorder and did his introduction for an official CIA case. When he was done, one of the officers did the same thing for his recorder.
“We were just looking for the Starbucks to use the bathroom.” You started as you kept your eyes on the happy little boy who was more interested with his cardboard colors and shapes book than anything else. “We stopped at the corner a block away and I looked over as the guy put a small caliber revolver in Frankie’s back between her shoulders. I didn’t see him until later but he was tall… about five ten maybe. Medium build, late twenties, early thirties. He had dark brown hair and a short beard. Kinda like my dad’s but colored like Opie’s.” You said as you turned around to look at your husband. “Darker on the sides but a decent amount of grey in the middle.”
“Your dad taught you well.” Romeo commented as you turned back around. You nodded in agreement as you took a deep breath to continue.
“He wanted me to be prepared just in case. Guy had dark brown eyes, almond shaped, and a scar across his left cheek. Small, about an inch long. Lighter tan skinned, black t-shirt that said something in Spanish I couldn’t understand. Could have been Portuguese. He told us to walk and turned me to the right. We passed 5A and 3A Avenida Sur before he turned us down a little alley where his early 2000 model, Silver Nissan Sentra, white license plate PPE 95 71 was waiting. He made me tape Frankie’s wrists and then he taped mine. Once the trunk was closed, I found a tire iron in the spare tire part and popped the latch. I told Frankie to run between the cars so it would block us from view if the car turned around to come back or whatever. And we didn’t stop running until we got back to Opie.” Romeo nodded his head as he continued to jot down notes.
“Is there anything else you can remember? Tattoos…?”
“Yea… he had a tattoo on his right upper arm. Could only see the bottom of it.” He nodded his head as his cell phone rang in his pocket.
“Anything else, mija?” He asked as he silenced his phone and came over to sit down on the end of the bed. “You’ve given me so much detail already and I’m so proud of you.” You nodded your head as he smiled at your son, said hi, and pulled out his badge to let the boy play with it.
“I just tried to stay calm.” You told him as you sat your son down so he could play with the badge until he lost interest. “That’s all I could do. I knew I could make a run for it when he grabbed us at the corner. But I didn’t think Frankie’d be able to keep up if I did. And I couldn’t leave her alone.”
“You did good, mi corazón.” He repeated as he gently touched your leg. “I’m very, very proud of you.”
“Do you think you’d even be able to find this guy?” Opie asked as he continued to rub your back.
“We’ve been closing in on this group.” The first officer said as he flipped his notebook closed and put it in his pocket while Romeo and the second officer turned off their recorders. “Four women taken in a similar situation. Only one of them made it out. She didn’t have nearly as many details but they tried to drug her after they took her out of the trunk. She just happened to have recently gotten sober so her tolerance was pretty high. But she didn’t know where she was or how she got away from there. Just that she had been taken, and drugged.” You nodded your head and looked back down at your little boy as he pushed himself up on all fours like he had been trying for days and looked at the badge he had throw a few feet away.
“Ope.” You whispered as your son rocked back and forth.
“How old is he now?” Romeo asked as he dismissed the other officers with a wave of his hand.
“Six and a half months.” You said with a smile as your little boy got his hand out from under him and put it out in front of his body. It was as far as he had gotten without falling in the past but you knew he’d get there.
“He’s so beautiful.” You nodded your head and silently cheered your son on when he got his other hand in front of him, and scooted forward on his chunky legs.
“He’s going to be trouble one day.” You giggled as your little man apparently mastered the art of crawling in less than three weeks. “We got a crawler.”
“Now it’s time to baby proof the house.” Opie said as your son crawled over to Romeo’s badge and flopped down beside it to pick it back up to chew on it with his one bottom tooth some more until the undercover CIA agent had to leave the boat.
AX2001 - University - One Animation a Week project - 3D Sections
So far on this blog is have discussed all the 2D sections of my one animation a week project (AX2001 - University - One second a week animation - My approach & 2D sections (Summer Project)) and the stop-motion sections (AX2001 - University - One Animation a Week project - Stop-motion sections (Summer Project)). In this third and final post, I will be discussing the 3D sections of my project.
Bouncy Balls (Ball Bounce animation)
To begin I decided to make my first 3D animation something quite simple. Out of the three types of animation, I would say I felt 3D animation was the one I feel I still have a lot to learn about, so with each piece, I tried to up the difficulty for myself on the creation process (In a similar fashion to the character mash-up aspect of the project). So, for my first project, I decided to create a bouncing ball with squash and stretch added to it, this is a common animation practice piece for 2D animation, of which I also did a few times during the beginning of the first year, so I wanted to try and translate this to 3D animation.
To begin I animated one ball going up then down, then pausing the ball for a few frames once it hits the plank and once again at the peak of its bounce. From here I created key frames for the ball squashing down and stretching up. I wanted the bounce to be gentle and not harsh, so nothing was too drastic when it came to stretching the ball during its bounce.
Even though I had accomplished what I set out to do, I felt unsatisfied with what I made, so I added more balls and animated balls dropping in pairs at slightly different times. From this point quite a lot of time had passed, as I was struggling to get the rendering software “Arnold” working on PC, which I had previously used for my first-year projects such as my E4 sting. But eventually I got Arnold working thanks to the help of my tutor and the making could begin.
I began by change the colour of each ball to distinguish each one from the other. After looping the animation a few times, I felt that the background seemed quite empty, so I created two moving borders in the shape of little hills and had them scroll across the top and bottom of the frame, I then placed a solid background behind the two borders.
This helped fill in the background, but I still felt that there could have been something else I could have done with this animation. I then came across the idea, to include small floating and rotating cubes to help fill the screen. The inspiration for this idea came from Nintendo Wii menu’s how in some games such as “Wii Fit” and Wii Party” some of the backgrounds, would have floating shapes to help fill the void in some of their backgrounds.
Once these cubes were fully animated, I felt satisfied with what I had made, taking what was originally a practice exercise for 2D animation and expanding it into something more with 3D animation.
Tumbling Down (Domino Animation)
With Tumbling down, I wanted to create a simple concept like domino’s falling over, but try to animate everything in time, giving each domino a sort of weight to them. At this point in the project, I felt that I had been creating too many busy pieces that I thought another simpler to understand piece would be refreshing.
When creating this piece, I took a very similar approach to this as I had done with the Bouncy Balls piece. I created the base of the table and then the first domino, I then replicated the domino five times, lining each one in front of each other. Next using the Sphere tool, I created each of the dots for the dominos. Once this was done, I coloured in the domino’s and their dots as well as the table as well as giving the table legs.
Oddly enough the more difficult part for this animation was trying to stop the dots clipping out behind the dominos. This became very apparent after applying colour to the dominoes as the clipping became more obvious with each domino. To fix this I had to carefully add key frames as to when each domino fell, making a few extra key frames to make sure that each dot stayed in line and didn’t fall out of the model.
Once the dominoes were fixed I began adding background elements, i tried to recreate the walls of a room in a house, so I added a picture frame with two smiling faces and a white separator on the wall to fill in the background.
Overall, this animation was also quite good to work on, as it reminded me on how to carefully set key frames and that sometimes having too many or to little number of key frames can cause timing issues with different elements, props, characters, etc of a piece.
Hello (Waving character Animation)
This animated piece features a man in his house waving to the viewer. This piece was the second to last animated piece I created and with my previous 3D animated pieces (Including the Rollercoaster piece, but that comes after this one in the project). I wanted to try rigging a character. From my previous work with the E4 sting, the hardest thing to create for me was the Rig for my character, so going into this piece, I knew I would be in for a challenge.
I began by creating my character, shaping his body using the vertex tool (F9) and adjusting them with the move tool. I then deleted the top and bottom of the characters body to create the legs using the bride tool and extending the legs from between the gaps of the bridge. Next was the arms, they were created using the cut and extend tools with the vertex tool used later to define the elbows and hands/ nubs. I then created a thin disk, placed it at the top of the body, and with the cylinder tool, created the neck. using the sphere tool, I created and manipulated the spheres to create the head, eyes and nose of the character, I the used the cylinder tool to create the characters smile. I combined all these parts together by combining mesh of each of them to one another.
Next was creating the rig, I had a few lessons recorded including one to one video calls with my tutor showing me how to do this, so this time around, I was a little more confident with what I was doing. Creating the rig wasn’t an issue, I remembered to combine the body to make it whole so unlike last time, my model wasn’t collapsing in on itself and legs were functioning properly. The issues came when creating switches for the joints using the circle tool. Even though I had frozen the dimensions of the shape and switches using the Freeze transformation option in the modify box, as well as parenting the joints to their switches and from one switch to another. The model was not responding, properly as the rig would move, but the model would not follow. After investigating for a while, I found out I needed to bind the skin to the joints. This worked and I was able to animate the characters movement.
The next issue I experienced was with the characters hat. At the start I wanted to try adding clothing to my character, something I struggled with in the first year, so I made my character a cap. The problem was, whilst animating, the hat kept breaking and clipping through the body, I thought the best solution would be to unbind the hat from the head and animate it separately. The issue was the hat would not detach from the head, so I tried everything I could including doing everything I had done prior, but the hat wouldn't come off, not only this but a bobble I placed on top of the hat would not delete. To fix this I created a new, larger hat to hide the bobble and animated on top of the old hat.
Lastly I had a strange issue with the skin weights tool, as it appeared to be malfunctioning in a way I was unsure how to fix. When activating the tool, it would recognise the surfaces/ objects I was trying to get it to interact with (mainly the head). However whenever I selected the part of the body I wanted to use the skin weights on it would come up with a large red X where I wanted to use the tool. I tried holding CTRL, centre mouse, left click, right click, alt click and more to get rid of this X, but unfortunately I had no luck. So during the animation, you may notice the bottom half the head stretching whilst my character is waving.
One final thing I should mention is during the making of this piece, I had previously watched a short video of Disney reusing pieces of animation for their films (Link to video below). Due to time running out for me for this piece, I decided to take this idea and reuse some of the props I made for my E4 project. These include the cabinet, plant and door seen behind the man in the background.
Overall, I felt happy with this piece as I felt for the most part I had learned from most of my previous issues/ errors. Sure not all problems were resolved in time and I couldn't fix the skin weights issue, but the main goal was to show my character waving at the viewer and I felt that I was able to pull this off OK.
Theme Park (Rollercoaster Animation)
This animated piece features a rollercoaster with two people riding one of the karts. For this animation I wanted to try and create the effect of something coming from the background into the foreground towards the viewer. I felt this would have to be both gradual, but noticeable with it’s movement (nothing to quick or sharp on approach). After thinking of a few ideas, I decided to make this piece based on a rollercoaster.
To begin I made the rails for the roller coaster from two long cylinders, I then used the cut and vertex tool to manipulate and stretch the shape of the rails going up and down as it comes closer and closer to the camera. I then created polls underneath the rails to hold up the track and then duplicated both the rails and the polls to create the base of the track. Next I created a very thin sheet using the cube tool and used the same process for the rails to create the ground for the ride. The kart itself was made out of a cube with a lot of manipulating done to it to create what you see in the final piece.
The people were interesting to create, I didn’t want to create anything to complex but wanted to show that they had their arms in the air, as the kart goes up and down the ramps. I began be creating the body of one of the characters and made arms for the character using the cut and extend tools with the vertex and move tools to create their bent elbows and upwards arm movement. The cylinder tool was used to create the characters neck and ending off the design with the sphere tool which was used to create the eyes, nose and the inside of the mouth. The cylinder tool was then used to create the character’s lips/ open mouth, which was all concluded by adding colour to the model. The model was then duplicated and separate hair pieces were made to make the characters different from one another (as well as changing the colour of their shirts).
when it came to animating I first animated the kart going along the track, creating a key frame for roughly each bend in the track as the kart goes up and down each ramp. The same keyframes where used for the characters moving along with the kart and this animating process happened a third time, with the characters facial features and hair.
Once this was finished I was happy with what I had made, but like the Bouncy Balls piece, I thought the background appear quite empty. I thought of what else is usually found at theme parks and I eventually landed on the idea of making a Ferris wheel. To make the Ferris wheel the base was made from the cube tool, whilst the pools and centre pool where created with the cylinder too. for the round parts of the wheel for the karts I used the cylinder tool but manipulated it with the cut and vertex tools and this was hard. I tried to create a quarter of the ring and duplicate it around the Ferris wheel, the results I felt were mixed, it looked like a Ferris wheel, but you can tell it’s not smooth, especially since the bottom had to be deleted due to clipping through the ground. To make best of this situation (especially for the animating stage). I decided to keep the wheel still, but half the karts rotate around the track to give off the effect that the ride was functioning properly. Lastly the karts were made from two manipulated cubes from the vertex and move tools and the polls where created with the cylinder tools then they were all coloured in.
I decided to animate the karts moving in small increments as to not make them move too quickly in the one second, I had or risk them clipping through the circular frame of the Ferris wheel. If I had a little more time, I probably would have tried to fix up the frame of the Ferris wheel, but unfortunately at this point I was running out of time (After all it was a last minute inclusion). Once the wheel was done, I created a small path which ran through the background on top of a grass green floor and added a blue sky.
Overall, I was happy with this piece, sure the Ferris wheel may of needed some touching up (Such as using the ring tool which I had not used prior but would make more sense for next). But at the end of it all the focus was the rollercoaster and the effect of the kart and people coming from the background into the foreground, and I felt that I achieved that effect.
Splash (Diving Board Animation)
This animation features a person, jumping off a diving board and into a swimming pool. For this animation, I wanted to try and create a character jumping, something I had not attempted prior. My first idea was going to be someone jumping up and down on a trampoline, but after pondering on this idea for a while, I felt that there was more material I could work with if it was someone jumping off a springy diving board.
To begin, I created the swimming pool, which would be the base of my set. I created a large box with the cube tool and with the cut and vertex tool made a hole in the centre of the box, once this was done, I placed another cube in the hole, which would become the water of the pool. I then moved onto creating the diving board which was made from a thin cube which was stretched out, this was then followed by two more larger cubes placed underneath it acting as steps up to the board. two handles where then placed with the ring tool, prior to this piece I had never used the ring tool before, and I see where it could have come in handy with some of my previous work.
Next was creating my character, similarly to the Hello piece, I created my character and created a rig for the character. I also wanted to experiment with creating cloths again, so I created some swimming trunks for my character using a long cuboid, which was then thinned out and moulded using the cut, vertex and move tools, which were then skin bind to the body. The neck and mouth were created with the cylinder tool and the head, eye and nose were created with the sphere tool.
I then moved onto creating the rig where I used the same approach as I did with the Hello animation. I created the rig, tested to see if the legs would bend, created the handles for the body arms, legs, etc. In my experience so far, the more common issue I faced was operating the upper half of the model’s body, but oddly enough it was more the lower body that was giving me issues this time around. For some unknown reason the IK Handles for the characters legs were malfunctioning, they would bend like they are supposed to, but if I moved my character forward, the IK handles would remain firmly planted in place (or shoot downwards), causing the legs to drift backwards and clip through the body when landing in the pool. This bothered me that I spent roughly 75% of my time for this piece trying to fix the handles, but unfortunately, I was having no luck.
In the end, I had to go with plan B, which was to disconnect the IK handles from the model and animate the legs manually with the vertex tool in the side view. Animating as a whole wasn’t actually too bad, the upper half of the rig was still functioning properly, so I had no issues animating the body arms and head. And unlike the Hello animation the skin weight tool was working this time, so I was able to prevent the head stretching during the jump. Whilst animating my characters movement I tried to have the character rotate backwards as he jumps off the board, hits the peak of his jump and landing in the water. To best achieve this, I had the character jump in a cannon ball position so it would be easier to rotate the body slightly backwards, but also make it easier to manipulate the arm movements and animate the legs.
Lastly, I created a few background props, such as an inflatable unicorn with ring and cylinder tool. I also created a floor to go around the pool as well as a table with drinks on it, walls were also added around the sides of the set. I also tried something new by incorporating clouds in the background to give a sense of background movement. I also tried angling the sky diagonally, as I felt the sky in the Theme Park piece made the world feel like it was boxed in and less open, I feel this new approach worked much better.
Overall, I was happy with this one, yes I had issues with the character rig again, but I was glad I was able to come up with an alternative to this issue, to create a piece which I think works well. The main takeaway from this finale piece will be working on rig structures and handle making, but in comparison to what I have done before, I felt that I have improved.
(Context: This strange glitch kept occurring that my character would disappear whilst the animation was playing, or I was skimming through frames).
i'm really frustrated and exhausted with my life right now, can you do some sweet and soft el internado headcanons to help me feel better? thank you 💓
i’m so sorry this took so long, anon. i had some Stuff going on when you sent this, and i’m just now where i can really create. i hope youre doing okay 💕
—–
- i made some hcs on what a disney movie marathon would be like with the gang and it really made me latch onto the hc tht in a slight au, after they all make it out of school, to make sure they stay together and stay in touch, they do a movie+meal once a month, with rotation on where it’s gonna be, who’s gonna cook, who chooses the movie
- everyone loves going to julia and vicky’s, so their month to host is like The Favorite bc their apartment is so cozy! it feels like home tbh vicky’s plants are inhabiting every nook and cranny that isnt occupied by their combined weird taste in books and bobbles (theyre the couple that collects weird coffee mugs im calling it now) their furniture is incredibly comfy and they have the best blankets and it’s just The Best
- the best cook is, surprisingly, iván. he grew up watching countless personal chefs cook a globe’s worth of cuisine and he actually has an amazing retention for stuff like that so he knows his stuff tbh
- he cooks to soothe both himself and his friends and he cooks to cope and he cooks because it makes him happy and he’s considering making s career of it and marcos supports him 100% as long as he gets to be the taste tester and iván loves that deal more than anything bc he loves marcos and wants to share this other passion with him
- anyway! the best movie chooser is without a doubt carol. she stays up to date on all of that so she always knows whats new and whats good and when to or not to listen to reviews. she also always (somehow) picks movies no one’s seen yet, they’ll all enjoy, and that fit the month’s mood just right. if movie night lands close to someone’s brithday she’ll call their SO to get the scoop on what movies theyve been wanting to see (and inevitably, something she was already thinking of is in the list,, shes insanely good at her job)
- nobody’s really The Worst at hosting or cooking, like carol’s apartment is chill but she doesnt have enough furniture for everyone and caye and roque’s apartment is nice but they have weird neighbors and marcos’s apartment is cool but his roommate hates them and iván’s apartment is also cool but maybe haunted? (marcos kinda wants them to consolidate their households to his apartment bc he doesnt want his bf to get ghost murdered but they also mutually agreed not to live together for a while after they got out of school so it’s a What Can You Do situation)
- and as for cooking the rest of them have certain dishes theyre Real Good at but they all agreed a long time ago that no one is as good as iván (though carol’s fabada is a Very Close Second esp if she handmakes the bread to go with it which she usually does because she loves to treat her friends)
- Everyone has their own unofficially official assigned seat at each home and it’s the funniest thing ever because of anyone tries to switch it up theres like a stare down from across the room with heated glares and dramatic huffs because no one wants to say “thats MY spot” bc what if thats weird but also. It’s Their Spot
- also? theyre all horrible gossips. they invest in each other’s lives like a soap opera and it’s hilarious like they know all the names of everyone’s coworkers/classmates/what have you and remember everything each person has done so when theres a “did i tell you what x did” theres 6 cries of “what has x done NOW” with the receipts to back it up
- when it’s time for everyone to go (bc they Have to go this time work/class/etc starts early in the morning) everyone drags their feet and takes 20 minutes to put on a scarf or another 10 to tie their shoe bc yes they all talk p much every day and theirs like 12 group chats so theres no shortage of communication but with the smell of good food still lingering in the air and laughter with it and theyre all back together it just feels so Warm and Happy and they hate to break that spell
- so they all usually end up on couches and floors and curled in half in chairs with threadbare pillows and thrift shop blankets but it’s the happiest and safest theyve ever felt so really Who Cares
Chapter 1- the problem with Unisex Clothes
Hello! This is the beginning of my (as of yet untitled) Lin x reader fic. Not too sure as to how you might all feel about this - any review or criticism is greatly appreciated because I've not really written a fic on my own before!! Thank you!!!! ____________________ Your harsh alarm cuts through the still quiet of your 1-bedroom flat. You groaned - another sleepless night. There was no point in setting it anyway, you mused, considering the sleepless night you knew you would have had. The night before a new job, you thought, rolling over and switching your phone off to return the room to its previous calm. You were always like this before anything new happened - and now, starting a job in a whole new place where you didn't know anyone, you were terrified and had spent the entire night tossing and turning, planning every detail of the next day. You got up and padded into the tiny bathroom adjacent to your room, looking at your tired appearance in the dingy mirror. You sighed; there was no way the bare amount of makeup you owned would cover the circles under your eyes. You swiped a face on anyway, determined not to let a few bags set you back on your first day. Hurriedly getting dressed in a v-necked black shirt and ankle grazer jeans, you pull on your favourite pair of sneakers, grab your headphones off of the sideboard by your door and load up your favourite playlist of Disney songs before heading out the door at a brisk pace. You jogged down the steps from the 5th floor and headed out into the cold New York air, wincing as the breeze hit your ears and nose. "Relax, Y/N, you know which way to go. You traced it out about a billion times in your head last night." You tried to encourage yourself as you made your way through the crowds of busy New Yorkers, who didn't even have to look as they side-stepped past your haltering steps and disappeared off into the mobs of people pushing through the narrow sidewalks. You always enjoyed walking through this city, and in the small time you had lived here you really enjoyed watching people as they walked by, oblivious to everything but their small world. Across the street was a man carrying a bunch of flowers and a card. A birthday? You asked yourself, A wedding? A funeral? An anniversary? You'd never know, and that's why you loved to imagine these scenarios. He could going to visit his mother at the hospital a few blocks away and cheer her up for a few minutes before his shift started at work, you thought, looking at his suit - but he could also be a boyfriend who messed up and was trying to win his sweetheart over. Your thoughts continued to make up scenarios for him until you realised he had long since passed you - and you were now late! Fuck! You picked up the pace and soon found your way to the Richard Rogers theatre. With a small tremble of nerves, you pushed open the door and entered the theatre, following the route to the stage, where you had been told to meet by your new boss via text. Upon entering the auditorium, you couldn't help but gasp at the size and decoration - it was beautiful, with art-deco-esque walls and plush seats. Glancing around, you were amazed at the sheer beauty of the theatre until a voice interrupted you. "Uh…hello?" You snapped your head round to see a crowd stood on the stage and felt your cheeks flush red immediately. "Oh-um-hi, its-uh, my first day here. I'm Y/N L/N. Do you know who Mr Miranda would be? He's my new boss.… uh- I'm his assistant?" You trailed off, looking at the man who had first noticed you and feeling rather embarrassed. To your surprise, he smirked, eliciting chuckles out of the group stood on the stage, and began to approach you. He jumped down off the stage and walked down the aisle in no rush towards you. He held out his hand and you took it tentatively. "I'm Lin" he said, and looking at the blank look on your face added "Mr Miranda. Your new boss." You felt your face turning even pinker now and the man smirked, dropping your hand and turning on his heel. "You're late, this way." He prompted going back towards the stage and the wings. He called to one of the cast members "Javier, you take over. I've got to show her the ropes", and then disappeared into the depths of the theatre, with you close behind him. "This is backstage. You won't be back here a lot unless you're running between shows or if there's an emergency during the show" he informed you, still without looking at you. "Watch your step here" he said, just as you tripped over a large cable, and then suddenly he turned, his hands grabbing your forearms before you could even fall. You blinked at him, shocked, and he just shot you a wicked grin. He straightened you out and turned back around, ducking under trailing wires into a narrow but well lit corridor. He didn't need to tell you that these were the dressing rooms - the stars and the names on each door made it obvious. He walked past dozens before he stopped, making you bump into him. He shot you that same grin and you scowled back. You hated being made fun of and you wouldn't let him get to you. "This is mine, so it's yours. You can hang out back here during show times, or whatever. Dump your coat here though, we don't have much space for you to put it elsewhere." He swung the door open and you stepped in, glancing discreetly at the costumes, the mirror with lights that was surrounded by Bobby pins, hairspray, bobbles and screwed up pieces of paper, the photo of -who she presumed to be- a younger him sat on a department store Santa, neither looking at the camera. You unbuttoned your cream coat and hung it up where he pointed, and when you turned around a smile- not a smirk - slowly spread onto his face. "Nice shirt" he grinned. You looked down at your black v-neck confused, and then looked back at…him. In his black v-neck…You sighed, "this is why I need to stop shopping in the men's department." He burst out laughing and held a hand up. "No this can be fun! We can match everyday! I thi-" "Look, Mr Miranda, I'm just here to do a job, earn some money and try get myself through college from the funds. I would rather we just left this inside the theatre." You hastily explained. You really didn't want this energetic man and his matching clothes ideas, but you needed the money. He sighed. "You're right, I'm sorry. You've got a job to do and so have I. Leave your stuff here and I'll take on you on a tour of the rest of the theatre, then I'll give you your list of responsibilities. It'll just stay between the theatre." He suggested, all mirth erased from his face. You nodded "Perfect Mr M-" "Please don't call me that. I don't teach anymore- j-just call me Lin, alright?" He insisted. "Alright then, Lin" you tested the words in your mouth slowly- it felt odd, but somehow right at the same time. "Show me the rest of the theatre." And with a smile, the man began on his 300 mile a minute tour of your new workplace.
