So, I'm not sure what possessed me to do this, but here are some headcannons for the... little universe in the Mab/Morgana fic... WARNING. Things written in bold Will be talking about a triggering subject for some people. I do not go into great detail, but along the topics are subjects of Ab*se. Emotional and physical.

I headcannon that Arthur probably became king at like 13 at the oldest because of his fathers declining health.

Uther was an ASSHOLE. He definitely killed Mabs parents and some of her people when they first came to settle in the land and make it Camelot.

Uther definitely emotionally manipulated Morgana and Arthur, pitted them against eachother. He was distant to Morgana and barely approved of anything she did. He would bad mouth her to Arthur and let his anger out to him.

Arthur was probably physically abused by his dad and council. They wanted a child king and would stop at nothing to make sure he was ready. Arthur internalized this and never wanted to talk to Morgana about what uther did to him but, she knew.

Mab isnt fond of men or women but will definitely keep a few as pets after morganas banishment to fill the void. See the myth about Tam Lin (watch Overly sarcastic productions video on it) but if you're a strong female woman of age who knows magic? All you gotta do is step into the woods. Mab WILL find you and date you. (Smh she tryin to find someone to fill the void Morgana left :'( )

Gwen's definitely bisexual we all know.

Arthur loathes children. He doesnt want to be his father but seeing them act all goofy and totally helpless makes him grin and laugh and want to hold their tiny baby hands,,,

Mab and Nimue grew up together. Nimues parents passed away from natural causes before Uther reached them at all.

Mab has a rule that no one can come into her forest without paying a toll thanks to Merlin. Because he keeps stealing things.

This extends to his apprentice which she nearly kidnaps because she just thought he was cute, and learning he was with Merlin only fueled that desire to keep him. 'I just want to spite him. And honestly youd probably be better off here.'

I was about to say Morando AU but then I remembered that one kreamus drawing where Seamus appears to be a human prince and Krel is some sort of fae? Is there a story behind that?

YES THERE IS MY FRIEND

1. Steve and Seamus are brothers and they’re human princes. Seamus has magic that he has to keep hidden from pretty much everyone, so the only people that really know are Steve and their mum.

2. Aja and Krel are also royalty, but they’re fae royalty. They’ve pretty much been taught that all human-raised humans are Bad and will kill them.

3. Douxie is a changeling - not like the trolls, though, like Fialkov and Coranda found him in the woods as a baby and were like, our son now. He has magic and popular opinion is that that’s why his human parents abandoned him.

4. Krel and Seamus meet when Seamus, despite being taught how dangerous the forest is, strays off the path and they run into each other. Krel has mostly likely snuck out and he’s never met a non-Douxie human before so he’s instantly curious, despite warnings.

5. Krel tells his family and Fialkov immediately forbids him from seeing Seamus again, but of course Krel doesn’t listen. Seamus only tells Steve (and Steve’s secret boyfriend, apprentice chef Jim). Endgame is Krel/Seamus and Steve/Jim/Aja because I can.

Fae Douxie from the WIP folder?

The concept is Douxie is half fae on his mom's side, but he's worn a glamor his entire life, to appear human, because King Arthur might have been willing to spare a few wizards... but a monster like a fae? No chance. For the sake of survival, Douxie has completely rejected his fae side for centuries, he's worn the glamor for so long he doesn't even remember how to take it off, or what he looks like underneath.

The fic is about him coming to terms with his fae side, and there's a lot of brotherly bonding with Jim, Claire, Toby, Steve, etc.

Names have power. He knows that. It was one of the first things drilled into his head, and one of the few things he made sure he would never forget. And yet, he still gave his name away without a second thought. Stupid.

Now he has to pay the price for his carelessness.

Now he's a slave to the fae.

He was given to the Gumm-gumms. His mission? To befriend the good trolls. Get close to them, become trustworthy. Then steal the amulet and reopen Killahead bridge.

If he refuses? Well, they have his name, and worst of all, they have Archie. Disobeying is not an option.

"This whole time. You've been working for them this whole time?"

"Jim, I'm--"

"Trollmarket, the world, Merlin... you've betrayed it all and for what?"

"Hisirdoux Casperan."

Douxie tensed at the sound of his full name, whatever he was about to say, forgotten.

"They are beneath you. Do not engage with them."

As if he fell under a spell, Douxie's eyes glazed over and he turned away to stand by Usurna's side. The image of Douxie standing next to Usurna, his face lacking any ounce of remorse made Jim see red.

"Vendel, Draal, Aaarrrgghh, it's all your fault! We thought you were one of us. We thought you were a part of our family, Douxie. But I guess we were wrong. You were just using us this whole time."

The quest to wake Merlin was nothing short of a disaster. The wizard was an egotistical prick, they lost the staff of Avalon, and worst of all, they lost Draal.

"Without my staff and my powers at their full capacity, I-- unfortunately--am going to need the aid of my apprentice, Hisir--"

"No."

"What do you mean, 'no'?"

"Met him, know him, betrayed by him. We're not getting his help. He's working for Gunmar anyways."

Merlin paused for a bit and stared at Jim, as if he had suddenly turned into a troll.

"Impossible. My apprentice may be an ignoramous, but he knows the difference between right and wrong. He most definitely is not stupid enough to aid Gunmar. He helped me build the amulet to destroy him."

"Well, maybe it was all a lie. To get close to you then stab you in the back when you least expect it."

"You idiot, why would you do that?"

Merlin was kneeling on the ground, Douxie in his arms. The latter's face scrunched in pain and one hand fruitlessly trying to stem the blood flow coming from the stab wound in his stomach. Douxie's reckless action stalled Morgana for now, but he's bleeding out quick.

"I spent 800 years as their pawn, doing their bidding. I've hurt so many people, all because I was afraid to die. But what's one life compared to the greater good? I should've done this earlier, then maybe less people would've been hurt. Tell Archie I'm sorry."

Douxie's eyes drooped closed, and his breathing slowed to a stop. But Merlin could not mourn now, not yet. He had to stop Morgana, make sure his son's sacrifice was not put to waste.

It fascinates me.) 7: one way in which I relate to this character I too am infantalised by a lot of people despite being way older than they seem to think I am. *sighs in disabled* 8: thing that gives me second hand embarrassment about this character Unsure if this is second hand embarrassment so much as pet peeve, but the way Nari is treated by most of the characters is uh... brushed over. Why was Merlin ever explaining the Arcane Order's deal when Nari was RIGHT THERE. 9: cinnamon roll or problematic fave? Problematic fave, rott never would have ended the way it did if Nari hadn't said those wishywashy fae bullshit things to Jim, not to mention *gestures vaguely at Morgana* the whole Morgana situation.

"Most of the time, getting something drawn in their sketchbook. Definitely helps cheer them up by the end of the day if they feel they've managed to accomplish something small like that. They get cravings of being with people but when they're low, actually being in a conversation can stress them out. It's not uncommon for them to stop by the cafe and get a hot chocolate and some pastry, so they have a good bit of fuel to keep their brain going. I tend to put it on the house, as a little extra treat. Plus that makes them smile too. What's not to love about free food?

"That's actually a good point. Definitely when they're joining me and Zoe for a night out, they tend to bring takeout or home-cooked food. It's kinda like they especially get happy when they're able to share a meal with close friends. And I have to agree." - Douxie (platonic)

House of Memories: What is your favorite memory of S/I? Paint us a picture, please!

"Favourite memory? Good for you, I have the best memory of the Mighty Nein, so this is an easy one. We were staying a few days over in Berleben, Jester and Beau were hard at work with a cypher they were cracking to assist with the, ah....anyway, Archae came to me and mentioned they had a bookstore in town, and asked if I had a favourite book. Well, I told them one of my favourite's, Die Sternschnuppe über Eiselcross, and they seemed very excited to try it out themself. I did manage to tell them I had a copy in the Mansion library before they could run off and buy an extra. I thought that would be the end of it, but it wasn't.

"Fast forward a day, I went by the Mansion's library in the evening to pick up a book for myself, and found Archae fully asleep in one of the loungers. On their lap was a copy of Die Sternschnuppe and several wads of paper, on the table next to them was a Zemnian dictionary. They were trying to transcribe my book from Zemni to Common! I have a good memory but even I forgot I had used the original text for the library. But clearly that didn't stop them. It was so very precious to see that despite this obstacle, they wanted to find the same joy in something they knew I loved. I left them to sleep, although I ensured the cats brought them a blanket. It was a couple of weeks before they were coming to me to discuss the story, so I assume that is how long the translating took." - Caleb Widogast (familial)

When The Day Met The Night: How different/similar are you and S/I? What makes you different from each other/similar to one another?

"Avon and I have plenty of differences, even just from the visual comparisons. Their hair is short, my hair is long. I have a preference for tan, lavender, and earthy colors, although I dare say enjoy a dabble in the pastels when conducting official business. They tend to dress in fiery autumn or dark sanguine reds, an ocean's range of blues, bold and dark colors. I cook with no food that is made or originating from animals as part of my personal ethos. They are a meat-eater, that is all to be simply said. Whether from time, fae nature, or simple practise, I find myself to be most eloquent but subtle in inflections when required. I will never say a lie, but I have certainly given a not-quite-truth at times to a mortal I find disdainful. Avon is....forthright at all times. Occasionally physically, if they find a mortal to be a problem. I am a diplomat. They are a fighter.

"Still, there is much to be said about our similarities. Neither of us particularly like the necessity of fighting. Avon certainly won't decline a sparring practise, but that is not so much a fight more than a honing of skills, and I too find it important to keep one's vital skills honed. One of my skills is information gathering, through sex if it so helps, but I have never experienced the physical compulsion for such activity. Avon feels the same, a discussion we have shared after I mentioned the business that my Queen deigns of me at times and questioned whether that would complicate our relationship. "The little shadow's clothing choices are...plain. I can appreciate that. A good assassin never seeks to reveal themselves, by blending into a setting they can hide themselves until the right time to strike. However they are not an assassin, and the only benefit they gain from such plain attire is that it is nigh on impossible to locate them in a crowded space.

"I tend to dress myself dependent on the occasion. Royal company requires royal attire - silks, rich fabrics, golden clasps and cuffs. Some would say that having six limbs would make things complicated, but then they just need to find a better tailor. More often, I tend to remain in my armor and wrappings, it allows ease of movement while the more delicate parts of my hide are shielded. Ailbe tells me they find it distracting. I tell them they shouldn't stare at my upper torso if they don't wish to be distracted.

"I believe if they had access to my wardrobe, they would be able to put together a suitable outfit for my purposes. I wouldn't run the risk of appearing overly garish, and they have a good understanding of small accessories and the benefit of hidden armor. But the stars only know they would struggle with wing-defined pieces of attire. ~ Douxie is a lowly street urchin. He's the lowest class you can get and he's barely considered a person none the less a commoner. He has no place being near the castle or being offered by the Merlin to learn magic at the side of Morgana. He doesn't fit into the world of Nobility surrounding Camelot or the Royal Court. And yet as Merlin puts his hand on the young boys shoulder leading him to the castle as he holds a sleeping Archie close, Douxies never felt more at home.

~ When Douxie meets you it's love at first sight. You just looked so healthy and clean and kind. Almost angelic. With rosy cheeks and a bright smile he couldn't help but stare at you as your mom talked to Merlin about something. You were in the most beautiful clothes he'd ever seen and your hair was recently brushed and done. He swallows trying to find his words but you don't seem to mind as you fill the silence with your sweet voice. Archie stirs in his arms and as you leave with your mom waving a goodbye Archie gives him a knowing look as Merlin smacks his head.

~ "Absolutely not Hisirdoux." Merlin is firm on that point. Douxie is allowed many freedoms now that he lives in the castle but there are also many new rules. One of them is that he apprentally is not to talk with the Nobel he met his first day as Merlins apprentice. Or any Nobles he meets unless he is with Merlin and they address him first. His rank may be higher now that he is Merlins apprentice but it will never be high enough to truly intrest someone of your stature or decorum. At least that's what Merlin tells him.

~ So of course he may not be able to "talk" to you but Archie can. So the ten year old Douxie comes up with a plan! While he's working besides Merlin he sends Archie off too learn more about you. The familiar seeing Douxies interest in you is quit keen on gaining knowledge for his young master. So the cat sneaks off to ask you some questions.

~ Your alone in your room studying when he finds you. You're reading and when he appears your eager to pet him. I mean he is a small fluffy cat. However when he speaks you seem hesitant to talk back at first, afraid that a fae is tricking you or you might get cursed. But a talking cat is so exciting and he seems very well mannered so you end up answering all his questions in exhange for some of your own. When Archie comes back that night Douxie learns everything about you Archie had learned. Apprentally you're the child of a Dutchess or perhaps a distant cousin of King Arthur but whoever you are Archie confirms you're way out of Douxies league. That in no way stops them however.

~ Merlin said Douxie is not to court you. But he isn't intrested in marriage (yet) he only wants your hand in friendship. After all your his age and you live in the castle and you seem super nice. He may be a middle class mage but he does live in the castle which means little Douxie often has free riegn of it. He's worried about guards spotting him near your room so he sends Archie too you with questions he has. Sometimes he's brave and he'll catch glimpses of you throughout the castle. He always gets a dopey smile on his face after he's seen you.

~ One day as he sits at his desk looking at the window waiting for Archie to come and tell him more about you he gets a surprise. His face lights up seeing his familiar and he notices something in the cats mouth. Archie smiles as he hands over a letter.

'Hisirdoux I've heard a lot about you from your familiar. Archie says you should give him more treats for his troubles and I agree he's a good cat who often visits me when I am lonely.

My name is (Y/N) and although we haven't formally met and talked alone I remember you. Merlins apprentice learning magic! That must be so exciting! Much better than my dull tasks in the court! I am always with escort or guard or parent otherwise I assure you we would've met and talked again. I often catch you in the corner of my eye and it always bring a smile to my face. You seem very kind and many of my friends sadly are not. So I have come up with a plan. For now I can not meet you in person but someday soon I will find a way.

Until then lets write letters. It'll be an adventure.

~ Archie doesn't mind being a messanger. He finds your friendship with Doxuie endearing and soon comes to care for you as much as the boy. Douxie immediately gets excited at the idea of writing you a letter and responds as soon as he finsihes reading yours.

Merlin said I'm not supposed to talk to you but he never said I couldn't write too you! You're brilliant for thinking of this and I don't listen to everything he says anyways. Merlin is a great teacher and I am grateful to him but he is also a hard enforcer. Learning magic under him is difficult and I do a lot more cleaning than actual magic.

But that's okay! I enjoy working under him. What must your life be like I wonder? A Royal in the Court? What do you do? What are you Royal duties? I mostly mop, sweep, and write endless hours of boring homework nothing exciting like this!

~ Soon starts a game of back and forth. Every night or every other night you write letters to him and he writes back. You exchange smiles in the hall and nod at each other in passing. It's the biggest secret either of you have ever had and sometimes it takes everything not to giggle at the sight of each other. You may not be able to hang out properly but as you begin to get to know each other more intimately Hisirdoux takes more risks too see you and you in turn do the same.

~ A year goes by and Douxie starts adding in small things to your letters. He loves giving you little gifts and trying to catch a reaction in the hallway, as dangerous as it might be, he loves seeing your smile whenever you receive something. Pressed flowers, poetry he read in old books, and knick nacks he found in town being some of his favorites to give you. In turn you give him sweets, books you like to read, small sketches, interesting facts from your studies, pretty crystals, and anything else you think he'll enjoy.

~ As teenager's Archie had been your letterman for years. Acting as a middle ground since it was almost impossible to meet alone. You and Hisirdoux had become closer despite not being able to meet in person much and as you both were given more freedom as you got older you found ways to meet and talk, Archie acting as a look out as you snuck moments alone.

~ You both find out the castle has secret passages throughout the walls when your about 13. Douxie and you are now able to meet in secret and have free reign of the castle at night when everyone is asleep. Some nights you both sneak into the kitchens stealing tarts and other sweets, other nights you spend in the library reading together into the early hours of the morning, and other nights are spent wandering the castle learning all it's secrets. Sometimes you even sneak to the roof or observatory and stare out at the stars talking about your dreams and what you wish to be and do.

~ As he becomes better at music he finds himself sitting beneath your rooms balcony or practicing outside your room so you can hear his music. You only encourage his craft and your encouragement makes his heart soar. He loves singing silly ballads to you and has even snuck in some romantic lyrics.

~ He loves showing off his magic. He's so proud of his craft and he's proud of how your eyes light up when you watch him do a spell. He enjoys watching your reactions as he casts his latest mark and often does spells he probably shouldn't to try and impress you. His favorite trick is summoning a flower and tucking it behind your ear. Your blush is always so pretty as he places it for you.

~ He sneaks into your library or places you go throughout the day to leave you things to find. Pressed flowers became a common occurrence in your books, or bits of a song he'd wrote slip into your school notes. Sometimes drawings and other small assorted things will appear through out the day as you do your duties as well. Unknown to Casperan you keep everything he gives you in a box under your bed in your room. All the letters he's written to you are safely tucked away in a large hollow book you made.

~ It becomes easier for him to sneak into your room or you to sneak into his as you get older. There are secret tunnels in the castle walls you use to meet up.

~ As you grow older you know your hand will soon be given to some other Nobel family but you dream of a life with Douxie. One where you could be yourself and you could live a life of love, magic, and adventure. He made you happy and although it wasn't practical you often daydreamed of running away together or becoming a mage yourself just so you could marry him.

~ One night when Archie goes to check up on you and say goodnight he runs back to Hisirdoux worried. Apprentally the ball of furr had heard you crying and ran back to tell young Casperan. He of course ran to your room doing his best not to be seen. You were waiting for Archie to come say goodnight but you'd fallen asleep and then woken from a terrible nightmare. Your door opens and looking up you sniffle and stare at Casperan with scared eyes. He lays next to you and you lean against him closing your eyes and taking in his comfort. Holding you close he uses his magic to play you a song staying with you until you drift asleep.

~ You're both more than friends. You both know it but neither of you have admitted it. The Royal Court would never allow you to love each other. You could never be married officially and eventually you'd be forced into a loveless life with someone else. However tension is rising in Camelot and things are changing. Magic may soon be banned and with it Douxies passion. You're idea to run away becomes more and more appealing as the world around you slowly dissolves into choas.

~ One night while everyone was asleep you sneak into his room. Shaking him awake you put a finger to your mouth and drag the sleepy boy to the stables. Under the moonlight you both ride out of Camelot to spend one night together. One night where you can just be who you both are. You explain your plan. What you should do and although Douxie does not want to leave he agrees it's unsafe.

~ You pack. You know you can't take much but you've arranged for a carriage with two horses so you and Douxie can at least start with something. All your jewellery and valuables along with pouches full of gold, silver, and copper from the Royal Treasury are put into a large satchel you hide under your bed. You pack a few of your least fancy dresses and steal pants from the stable boy. All of your favorite books, drawing supplies, and poems are shoved into a different satchel. You hide the hollow book of letters and all the gifts Hisirdoux wrote you in the stable and you prepare to leave.

~ Packing the carriage late at night under the stars Douxie and Archie meet you. Douxie has a satchel full of potions, a purse full of magic scrolls and books no one will miss, the letters you wrote him, and his lute. He also grabbed dried meat from the kitchen, biscuits, and canteens of water.

"Love are you sure?" He's so tender so soft and so full of love. You know this is meant to be.

You know things will never be the same but that's alright. You have him, he has you, and you both had Archie. As you flee under the stars avoiding trolls and traveling several towns over you know this is meant to be.

I was thinking and... what if?

This isn’t such a solid theory that I’m, like, convinced it’s going to happen. But we haven’t seen anything about Zoe. In the trailer, however, we’re introduced to Nari. Both are tiny and seemingly tough girls. Not to mention Zoe gives off major “little fae” vibes.

What if Zoe is a human disguise for Nari, who also ended up the human world like Douxie?

“Essentially. A grey fae thought i’d look nicer with it. So they made it grow out.” He shrugged. It was’t really a problem. At least when he got annoyed with it he could just get it lopped off at a salon. “It’s definitely more manageable than some of the past shenanigans they’ve pulled.”

actually drawing out the family tree that includes 3/4 of my pov characters for legacies makes me realise that my love of found family and “you can never have too many parents!!” has made this family a very very confusing one indeed
