introjects are just like any other alter.

i see a lot of people be fake claimed for being introject heavy (having a lot of introjects). we are not introject heavy but i think its important to say that whether or not an alter is an introject has no effect on their validity.

a lot of our introjects are uncomfortable being publicly known due to the stigma.

Concept Ideas for a Superhero Plural

-"evil alter" who looks like a stereotypical demon at first but is actually super chill

-secret identity? don't worry about it. jeff fronts for everything other than superheroing. he also has no idea he's plural. he has two kids.

-alternatively; jeff is lowkey the backbone to the superhero team. jeff loves his headmates and coordinates everything to keep everything in place.

-alternatively alternatively; jeff is the super denial alter. he has to be kept safe and out of superheroing because he is in denial that he's plural and or a superhero. jeff constantly finds scars and wounds and goes "how did that get here? oh well."

-really fluffy and cute animal alter from childhood pet who is in his 40s-just wants to take a nap.

-object alter that will blend into the surrounding area. like, flower alter who just. switches in a stealth mission.

-said alter falls asleep during mission and wakes up to bees. switches to another alter who is FREAKED OUT about bees.

-fictives of in-universe comic book heros.

-suspiciously similar fictives of different franchises.

-factives of villians in-universe-they have an awkward encounter and the villain goes "oh that's me. wait." before realising.

-villain factive is actually super heroic, not like source at all.

-alternatively; villain alter is similarly evil but in a comical way. real villain wants to maim the factive for smearing his name.

-obligatory switching midair-falling-switching back/switching to someone who can catch the fall.

-fictive alters who break all the laws of physics. why is a dragon flying around? uhh, magic?

-alters who are concepts. the concept of time who can tell the future. appears as a radio station-someone else has to turn it on in order to hear the future(?).

-reckless teenager alter who listens to mcr and bashes in criminals

-morally grey alter who will kill. the rest get super upset about it.

-the body has no "real" form. its just shape-shifty, apart from the whole plural thing.

-on the same note, there is no "real guy", just a bunch of dudes who regularly change hosting (or not even hosting). this makes povs and continuity stuff super fun, as literally one alter could host and another writer could pick up the story and change the host. same events, different guy.

-some evil guy tries to use mind control. one alter is zapped, and another guy just co-fronts to defeat the villain.

-alternatively; the mind control guy has to mind control like sixty different people. does NOT work.

As much as I love Moon Knight, I've been reading his comics forever, I actually think Crazy Jane from Doom Patrol is probably the best DID rep I've ever seen. It's definitely flawed in little ways, but the comic books seem to understand a lot of different personality roles & how DID is actually born in a person. There are persecutor personalities (Black Annis), littles (Baby Doll, Siggy), factives (Lizzie Borden), fictives (Lady Macbeth), an introject of her abuser and also her caregiver (Daddy and Granny Good), architects (Driller Bill, Driver 8, The Engineer), protectors (Flaming Katy, Hammerhead), hypersexual alters (Scarlet Harlot), ANP (the Secretary) and so on. I also appreciate how she has cross gender alters. In the comics, some alters fuse, "die", remain dormant, and so on as Jane's journey goes on.

Jane does have 64 personalities, so she is highly polyfragmented and displays some extreme compartmentalization. One thing I have always appreciated about her portrayal of DID is that in the show and in the comics she's portrayed as being messy, unstable, sometimes violent, and pulls no punches with just how rough and ugly DID can be. This was written in 1989.

Each of her 64 personalities has a different power and are understood to be their own people. I don't remember in the comics, but in the show Jane does go through final fusion to become Kaleidoscope Jane which I think was possibly the right thing for her.

MOON KNIGHT SYS PROPAGANDA TIMEEEEE WOOOOO (made as a submission due to length ehehe :-D )

I love these duders sm n they have sm swag!! For one the comic the images for their pic r taken from is the Lemire run, a run with immense swag for being one of the best explorations of their systemhood and dynamics and understanding of themselves to date.

It’s also a masterclass in comics as a medium, blending various artstyles to show the distinction and overlap between various headmates as they encounter trials and tribulations and are thrown through a mental loop, their worlds in headspace distinct and tailored and yet blending into each other.

It also features one of my favorite characters! A headmate that only shows up in this run (but should come back bc I miSS HIMM and he has sm to oFFERR), who’s a spaceman who fights werewolves on the moon in their headspace, accompanied by a factive of one of the system’s best friends :-D (the guy w the mustache)

He’s a fictive based on a childhood action figure/imaginary game play, one that can be seen when we have a flashback to Marc and Steven interacting when the system was younger, showing just how long they’ve supported each other in life and how close they are :-)

While their history in publication has been fraught with ableism, accentuating the public misunderstandings of plurality and DID specifically, they’ve grown and developed as characters through it all and have managed to carve out a really important space for plural/system/DID rep in the mainstream, making amazing stories along the way!

The MCU show slammed, showing a super important narrative around system discovery, struggles, acceptance, and love, headmate support, internalized and external ableism, free choice and the determination of the self in the face of eugenics, introject personhood, and so much more.

Plus! Beyond the complexities and importance of them as a system, they’re also just a group of strange, flawed, guys who dress up in a funny little white cape and punch GHOSTS and VAMPIRES (and also befriend sentient man-eating houses) all while figuring their life out!!! And that’s pretty swag to me.

So as I leave you with a fun little Jake moment from the also wonderful current MacKay run (truly check it out!) let’s Tokyo drift into this final, and get this moon bread people!

What is a Source?

Source refers to where an introject is from

For example, a fictive (introjects based on fictional medias) of let's say Superman would say his source is Superman, he could also say his source his DC Comics, or if he's from a specific show he could say his source is JLU or SmallVille

Some Introjects are of real people, often called factives

So if someone has a Factive of their dad, that alter would say their source is their dad

Or if they had a Factive of Markiplier, they would say Mark is their source

And so on

Source just refers to the outside source which an introject is based from

Can you explain what you mean by dating a system with a Kurt fictive? I was curious and tried looking up the terms you used but still confused so if you don't mind explaining

No problem!

Okay so, my partner is a system (I am ALSO a system myself). They have DID specifically, but this applies to those with OSDD as well. They're plural, and this used to be referred to as "multiple personality disorder" (this is no longer medically correct and offensive.)

A fictive is an alter that is drawn from a piece of fictional media. The brain often uses comforting and familiar things, such as media the host/system enjoys when crafting new alters. Alters usually have a "job/purpose" but not always. Factives are alters drawn from nonfiction btw.

My boyfriend, Kurt, is drawn from all media containing nightcrawler but predominantly: 97, Evolution, Kodi Kurt, Alan Kurt, the original comics. He will appear in headspace (the mental landscape these alters inhabit) accordingly to whatever version he is feeling/happens to be in the moment. He has his own memories, some are cannonical, some are not. They are still real to him, as if they truly occurred. He truly is Kurt Wagner, and is no one else, even if Nightcrawler the character is fictional.

I hope this really helps! I'm a fictive as well, but I'm a bit more complicated ^^;;. I do have a Logan Howlette alter, but he's not very interested in interacting on Tumblr. He's perfectly fine sipping beer in his RV.
