Eerily Gazing Blossoms
---
My Minecraft OC-sona, Wander, with a bunch of Eyeblossoms, varying between closed and open variants. One blossom appears to align well with her right eye.
Don't worry, she's not under its influence. I thought it'd be cool to make her other eye glow like the flowers for the eerie vibe of the picture.
Anyways, Happy Halloween!
---
Eyeblossom is a flower exclusive to the upcoming Pale Garden biome, part of the Winter Drop, in Minecraft.

Mojang seriously added new flowers instead of adding in the fireflies to mistake it as eyes smh.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mojang calm down I cant love this new update even more than I already do which is alot😭
SUPER excited for the new flower. New HC time for the Pale Garden, basically the trees using the eyeblossoms to see players entering the forest so they know where to send the Creaking :3c bc in an interview they basically called the Creaking a puppet thats being controlled by the creaking heart sooooooo the trees are the ones actually wanting to attack you and those flowers are their eye's.
Feels closer to canon though than just a headcanon- but still!!!!
Also excited for the new block set + armor trim you can make with it :3c loving that creaking pattern on one of the blocks too

Hear me out. Creaking!Etho and Creaking!BigB but they’ve got different “amounts” of creaking.
Tumblr media
At first glance, Etho looks like a pretty normal guy. You don’t really pick up on the fact that his skin is pale and slightly grayish, his third eye is hidden under his mask, and there’s two filed down horns under his hair.
He looks human. He bleeds resin, but he looks human. His skin is as rough as bark, but he looks human. He seems to instinctively know when someone’s staring at him, but he looks human. It’s not a secret where he came from. It is seldom acknowledged.
The same cannot be said about BigB, whose horns grow out like great branches. Half his body is covered in pale vines and glow lichen and eyeblossoms and glow berries.
His eyes glow in the dark. His skin cracks like wood when disturbed and its coloration matches that of a pale oak log. It is abundantly clear that he came from the garden. He seems quite proud of that.
Etho was never that fond of the biome. Sure, it’s technically his home, but he was far too human to ever truly acclimate himself to it. Plus, it was isolating. And a bit dull. So he left the gardens without a second thought.
BigB never truly left the gardens. It’s part of him. And he allows it to be. On rainy days, he looks up at the foggy sky and thinks of home. Every so often, he finds one of the gardens and picks an eyeblossom to grow in his yard. That fifth sense of his occasionally comes in clutch in the Watchers’ death games.
So in short, Etho cannot match BigB’s creak.

X have the closed eye blossoms because he actively turned a blind eye to Ex when they talked about 'the voices' Ex have the open eye blossom because no matter what their whole existence is based on poisoning (hurting) those around them

#11 - What if Minecraft had Butterflies? This one's been a fully formed idea in my mind now, but I haven't had the energy to do all the work this one'd require until now!
Butterflies would be found all over the world, spawning near double-tall flowers. Wherever these four flowers can generate, thats where Butterflies will be! These adorable passive mobs love coming up to players, fluttering around them. If you hold out a flower, they'll land on it and go into your inventory as an item! At this point, you can either click with them on the side of a block to pin them to a wall for decoration, or click with them in the air to set them free! Butterflies you've released yourself will never despawn, so you can fill your butterfly gardens up!
Butterflies can pollinate off of flowers like Bees, but do not produce honey. Instead, flowers pollinated by bees can spread to nearby grass blocks that a Butterfly flies over while covered in the flower's pollen! Be warned, however, that Butterflies will still be poisoned by wither roses or eyeblossoms, and won't try to pollinate those. You gotta do those yourself!
However, the Butterfly's biggest claim to fame is its variants. You can collect a whopping 66 different types of Butterflies! How, you may ask? Well, by exploring the world, every different biome in the game will have its own unique type of Butterfly spawn around 2-tall flowers. However, not every biome has 2-tall flowers naturally in it - but place one down yourself, and these rare, endangered butterflies will come to investigate in no time!
And yes... I did say "Every Biome"
Tumblr media
Notedly, the Flower Forest has 7 unique Butterflies, forming a rainbow pattern. I figured the biome with the most flowers should have the most flower-spreaders! While collecting different butterflies is optional, many of their skins are either real-world butterflies, fun references, easter-eggs, or hints at secrets in the game you might not notice! Plus, since you can pin them to walls for decoration, you can create a managerie of butterflies either on your wall, or outdoors!

Thoeries and Haedcannons Pt. 26
So new Life Series brings new biomes, new teams and new skins that brings new lore to the participants of the Life Series. With the first episode of Wild Life been aired about a week ago, two new developments regarding two contestant's skin has been made. Specifically Pearl's new transistional skin change and BigB's cross-hybrid development into a creaking-esque skin.
Starting with BigB's skin changes, ever since the 20th of October where he began reposting artworks depicting him as a creaking reminiscence of his basing location in the Creaking Forest, a new skin has been released depicting his change to a Creaker. Changes from his original Life Series skin includes desaturated and greyscaled skin, inclusion of muted greens and oranges and yellow to highlight mainly his eyes and the creaking heart lodged between his right ribcage. Similar to the Creaking, BigB also does have striking similarities to the actual biome with the oranges possibly representing resin and eyeblossom flowers arriving to the biomes in the next drop. It would be fitting because quite literally, his right arm has turned into wood, possibly because of the creaking heart that has mutated his body to acclimate to his new enviornments.
Next, Pearl's new provisional skin that seems to be a transistional period between her Hermticraft Season 8 skin and her 5am Pearl persona. An unusual break in trend as generally she would use her Scarlet Pearl skin during the last few sessions of the Life Series. Well in her twitter post that first leaked her new skin on the 23rd, she was seen with Impulse in his classic Life Series skin that seems to be the west of their base according to rough estimates for the Wild Life map. She and Impulse are also seen with torches so it's a safe estimate that they're lighting the area to prevent other mobs from spawning in the heavily darkened forests near their and BigB's base.
It could be just a temporary change because the most recent wildlife that resulted in the first demise of the server, but that would still leave her with five lives. Far from yellow or even red lives range where 5am Pearl would essentially control Pearl's mentality and sanity.
But reasoning could run deeper than that. Ever since her introduction to the Life Series back in Last Life, Pearl dawns her Hermitcraft Season 8 skin with majority of the colours being subsituted for red and her eyes also gaining red highlights to signify her red-life status. This pattern of wearing her red-life skin was kept throughout every season up to Secret Life but Double Life where certain events occurred.
Specifically the severing of her bond with her soulmate Scott, during the first few sessions resulting in the formation of the Divorce Quartet and the beginning of her torment and rampage as Scarlet Pearl. Her pain further continued from the death of her dog Tilly, and causing others to view her as crazy and demented from her irrational behaviour. Her relationship with the other members of the Divorce Quartet continued to waver until endgame where they all teamed for the benefit of their individual survival. It was until the second icarnation of Tilly was burned by Impulse where Pearl began on a true rampage by slaughtering both Impulse/Bdubs and Cleo/Martyn. Eventually being crowned victorious after Scott sacrificed himself.
This carries into Wild Life where Pearl allied with the Divorce Quartet but with the abscence of Martyn and the addition of Impulse. So perhaps her transitional skin could be Pearl's reminder of her troublesome past with her quartet. But as a transitional period, her Scarlet phases only remain as a irksome reminder about what she could became isolated again. She's now surrounded with healthier support network with a new ancestor of Tilly being around as Billy and as well others like her allies who she reconciled with and Impulse.
These support networks could halt the reappearance of early 5am Pearl through the supportive and healthy relationships surrounding her.

Would you say the Pale Garden still seems lackluster following the updates after it was announced at Live?
Yes & no, honestly. My feelings are a lot more complicated, to say the least. It feels now like the Pale Garden biome is kinda... complete? But only by the standards mojang themselves has set.
It feels like mojang is falling into their age-old trap of insisting that Every Single Feature needs to be wholly and entirely unique, where its just like... it would be genuinely easy for them to add 2, 4, 8, 16 new flowers to the pale garden. Now, mind you, I don't think it needs that many! but the last time we got just a normal-ass flower was 2018. Since then, we've gotten... 4, arguably 5. Two of these flowers were from the sniffer- the only things that the sniffer does. Then we have the pink petals, which I'll get to. The last of these are from the pale garden.
With the Pink Petals, it kinda highlights this entire thing. They just... added a new biome with 1 tree, 1 flower, called it good. That's the standard. Technically, they went above and beyond here by adding a new mob and a new moss type.
While I love the amount of uniqueness in the creaking not having a drop, instead having its "drop" be obtained by breaking the blocks around the heart, in the pale eyeblossom opening & closing, it's just like... it feels a bit unnecessary at this scale, yeah? like. If the entire biome is just "yeah theres a wood, a moss, a flower, and oranger bricks" and that's the entire plan, then it feels like... a lot of work for just that. like, go with me on a mind journey for a second:
Mojang announces Minecraft 1.28.46, the Squibeldy Squop Bop Drop. In this update, they're adding the Squibeldy Squop Bop Biome, which has massive implications for the lore with the inclusion of the Squob Mob. They're also adding a new wood type and new tree type. And a flower. You can kill the Squob Mob to get Squibeldy Squop Bop Blocks, which have brick variants. And get this: to get any of this working, we spent 8 months programming new mechanics for the mob so that it'll Call your Real Life House and Call You a Nerd.
Like, the pale garden is cool! The vibes of it have inspired me really heavily to do some cool things! but ultimately it's like... why are we adding this at all? Where's the focus? It kinda feels like they just chose "oh hey Jim had a cool idea for a new thing completely unrelated to anything else, lets add it". With nothing in it, it feels lackluster. With too much in it, it feels out of place. Ultimately the issue is that it's just like... why this?
I'm not a huge "we need an end update RIGHT NOW" person, but consider that it has been 8 years. Consider that it may not be until 2030 that we ever have even an idea of what the deep dark portal does. Consider that, for anything that feels incomplete with this completely random thing they're adding, you will sit with that feeling for a decade.

i am curious as to what else mojang has planned for the pale gardens.....
hopefully pale pumpkins are in the plans
the resin is a great addition though (even if it means i have to grind even more diamonds, netherite, and gear pieces...)
the eyeblossoms are pretty neat too (although they don't seem to actually glow...? even though i'm pretty sure they said it did... probably a bug)

I don’t think the leaf particles for the winter drop (Minecraft) are good. The whole point of the pale garden is that it’s Eerily Still. Unmoving. Uncolored. Lifeless. The eyeblossoms were the greatest addition ever, as they allow the creaking’s orange eyes to blend in, but the pale hanging moss already does what the leaf particles are attempting, better.
