Cringetober Day 13: Genderbend

Now presenting (left to right) Zackary Trent, Mika (pronounced Me-ka, short for Mikael) Mark, Nila Nevla, Vannie (short for Vanessa) Terrio, Rosaline Ferguson, Pepito Clark, and Benny (short for Benjamin) Ling.

These are the dumbest names I could have come up with, but they're the closest I could get to their originals. Also I got these from behind the name dot com and I've had issues with that website in the past so take their existence with a grain of salt.

My thoughts on genderbends below, if you care about that.

I know genderbending can be a little controversial sometimes, but personally, I think it's fine as long as you aren't too much of a gender essentialist about it. Like you gotta think about how a character would want to look if they were [insert gender here]. For example, I have some ocs who are both mostly masculine presenting boys in the original version. When genderbent, one of them goes super girly and the other stays pretty much the same. In the original story, the one who presents more femininely in the genderbend likes dresses and cute things in the original, but doesn't really wear them because of fear of social ostracization. Later in his life, he does present how he wants to. In a universe that he was a girl, she would definitely wear as much pretty dresses and skirts as she could get her hands on. The other character doesn't change how they look because they don't wear their clothes b/c they masc or fem, but because they just wear clothes they find comfy to sleep in, which for them is a baggy hoodie and basketball shorts. This also applies to hair and other things like that.

after grinding to get through most of the princess rose event i have planted an idea in my mind that will Not leave me alone.

i was fully expecting asmo to be good at fashion, but when he said he needed help from levi for the dame outfits my brain kinda melted.(note: the brain melting part might just be me being tired after job)

now it is canon to me and me alone that when mc needs to go shopping for a killer outfit, the three brothers who are going with them are going to be asmo, levi, and mammon.

asmo is the obvious choice bc duh, but it's easy to forgot that levi does god-tier cosplays and mammon is a famous model.

now imagine all three of them collaborating to dress up mc for an event

sorry i need to bitch about this stupid ass tweet somewhere because like. he literally wears dresses and clothes that are OBVIOUSLY from the womens section and makeup and his face was deliberately done up to look like botched feminine plastic surgery like im pretty sure theres more grounds to be concerned about the films portrayal of this characters gender expression than just "hes a freak".

like you don't have to hate the movie or consider it transphobic yourself but just because they don't have a silence of the lambs style "hes a transtrender" speech doesnt mean that there's no discussion to be had here about the subtext. i wish longlegs fans were not the thinnest skinned people alive who have to shut down their thought completely when any and all criticism is directed toward their movie.

First off I want you to know this is literally, legitimately the funniest fucking way I've ever had asked about my pale af skin, which actually happens a lot. A brief summary of the funniest:

Been asked if I was wearing a wig, because don't albinos wear wigs?

Been asked by my own mother why I was wearing white socks with my flats. I wasn't. Thought that was it. Two years later she asked why I was wearing white tights with my shorts. I also wasn't.

Been told I could signal a plane, no mirror needed, on a desert island.

Been told by two happy tattoo artists that working on me is almost like working on white paper, 'it comes out so bright!'. First artist even knocked 50 bucks off because he didn't need as much ink or time as he usually would.

Had the 'THE BEACONS ARE LIT' comic hilariously reenacted when I wander out in a bathing suit or tank top, or in this case, in my photo with Charlie where they used a light that lit me up like a road beacon. You know, this comic:

Also after sending this to a friend, I have been dubbed Nosferpasta. 'I'm a vampire' is now going in the 'Standard Responses To General Questions Of Why I'm Pale' box because holy shit (truthful answer: one of my medications makes me incredibly sensitive/borderline allergic to sunlight, and I can burn in as little as 15 minutes without sunscreen. That means I never get a chance to tan. Kinda vampirish now that I think about it).

Not me also scribbling down Morticia as a cosplay option cause, well, yeah, I've got the hair and the skin and I definitely wear a lot of black clothes, dark eyeshadow, and black cat-eye eyeliner. I'd barely need foundation at all. Either that or I'll be a happy vampire, which I also love.😂
