1. I was thinking about an aroace Sonic who says things that can be taken as wildly flirty/romantic but he just means them genuinely. ��You have beautiful eyes, I keep getting distracted while looking at them,” not cause he’s interested romantically in them but because eyes can be really cool and pretty man I dunno what to tell you he likes looking at cool things and he thinks his friends are neat. “You’re the most beautiful person here,” because he really thinks that, he loves his friends

2. Sonic randomly dropping heartfelt genuine comments on his friends out of the blue completely blindsiding them and then moves on like nothing happened while they’re left going ?????? Bonus points if he does something immensely stupid or jerkish just before or immediately afterwards and they can’t tell if he was serious or not with the compliment (yes he was)

3. Sonic usually being so allergic to truly vulnerable moments that when he expresses something heartfelt randomly Tails thinks he’s been stabbed or something and does not believe him when he reassures him that he’s fine he’s fine he’s not dying yeesh

Dick. For the canon isn't real square I am Specifically talking about the Tom Taylor Nightwing run. Usually I ignore bad runs but given this one is ongoing (though about to end THANK GOD and get replaced by Dan Watters who i have high hopes for since i adored his Sword of Azrael (2022) run but i digress) so I counted it. Especially since it's so debated if that run is bad or not, for some reason. I'm a 90s Nightwing truther. I love Dick so dearly and tbh recently I've been more enamored with him the more I read his Discowing era, I didn't used to be as big of a Dick stan as I am these days.

Bruce. Honestly where do you even start with Bruce. I want to fist fight him and also patch him up. He got me into comics and superheroes as a whole but I roll my eyes whenever he shows up in a story. He's a bastard and usually not a good father but also complex and should be dissected under a magnifying glass. I love him dearly. He's also just the worst. I think that's why I love him. I'm always a fan of unabashedly Complicated Asshole Bruce who's generally not always the best person, particularly not to the Batfamily and that being the driving force of his relationships with them, especially in shipping.

And for bonus points, Tim. Because know above all else, I'm a Tim Drake kinnie /deg. He's been my number one for a decade and I've yet to uproot him from my brain. He's literally the Worst half the time and I love him for it. And the canon isn't real refers to Tim Drake: Robin because... that sure was a comic. And that's about all I can say about it. Pre-Flashpoint Tim I miss you so dearly. I think it's fun that I want to put him in a blender and drink the juice but also want Nothing Ever to happen to him.

nobody IS the ‘norm’, we all are collectively acting out a role to make sure we just don’t bother others in their own self-absorbed world as we slowly sink into our own. It’s not some awful word, because we’re all recognising that we’re not the same as what we show to the world, and that’s no reason to hide.

also, it’s not normal to be mean. Normal means to fit in and not stand out, being less of a bother to society and the higher ups. It means everyone acts a specific way so we all grow to expect the same from everyone and not feel afraid. We’re surprised when others finally act out, break out their shell, because we also know we are hiding something both incredible and awful underneath but have got to keep the mask on tight.

I really do strongly dislike the very idea of the 'downfall' timeline. Like it can be fun to play with a version of OOT where Link up and died, there's definitely some interesting stuff to be done with that, but I really hate that the 'downfall' timeline is something I have to consider canon despite it making infinitely less sense than simply interpreting OOT as a prequel to ALTTP. No 'if Link died' qualifiers, just as is. Since OOT was very, very obviously based on the backstory explained in ALTTP and all, y'know. Not everything fits 1:1, but that's par for the course with LOZ games, and the ending of OOT very specifically sets up ALTTP.

So it's just deeply, deeply irritating to me to have the 'official' timeline say 'yeah actually that ending did not set up ALTTP. ALTTP happened in a completely different version of the ending than what you saw', like. I really despise how that paves over the history of OOT and the franchise as a whole for the sake of some remote semblance of 'timeline consistency'. Playing ALTTP and then playing OOT and realizing OOT was basing itself on the backstory from ALTTP was a really cool moment for me and it pisses me off that I'm just supposed to pretend the game I played didn't pre-date ALTTP at all and instead some nebulous parallel version that we never saw in-game was the REAL precursor to ALTTP. I don't care how much it messes up the timeline I'm not doing that.

Literally who cares if Twilight Princess, Wind Waker, and ALTTP all co-exist as wildly different OOT sequels. They can take turns. They can exist in a quantum state. Or they can exist in three different timelines the exact way they do now, I don't really care how people choose to interpret it on an individual level, I just don't like it when people treat the 'downfall timeline' as the presumed canon when, going by the actual games of OOT and ALTTP rather than the Hyrule Histoira, that makes very little sense.
