I was thinking back to the post I made about ebooks being so much more accessible for so many people compared to paperbacks/hardbacks and the other thing I wanted to add is the vast, vast majority of the time, the author gets so much more profit comparatively for an ebook than a paperback/hardback.

That's not a problem for huge huge huge authors either way, but for small-time authors, or authors with small publishing houses, the difference in profits can sometimes be $2.00 or $3.00 per ebook sold vs. $0.50c or $1.00 per paperback. Really. You pay more, but the author gets a lot less.

In the case of indie authors like myself, ebooks give the highest returns always.

This isn't necessarily something most readers think about, but I have had readers assume that because the book format cost them more, that automatically means more goes to the author. In fact it's often the opposite. There are very few exceptions (university texts come to mind). But in the case of your run-of-the-mill indie fiction, if you genuinely want the most profit to go to the author, get the ebook.

#asks and answers #ebooks more than any other format - audio / paperback / hardback #almost always return profits the fastest #it's hard to explain #but yeah that's how it goes #there are exceptions just like #there are exceptions to everything #also the most expensive format for any author is audio #this is why so many indie authors are straight up using Gen-AI to produce audiobooks #a novel costs around $4000-6000 USD to record in audio #and most indie novels only ever make $1000 over their lifetime if that #for many authors they are either vanity projects #or they thought they'd earn out the loss and then realise just how broke they are #for all that accessibility is extremely important #audiobooks and the cost have killed indie careers #keep it in mind before asking an author to create an audiobook #that's only ever going to sell about 50 copies sdlakfjdas

Man that DLC's final boss has got me feeling kinda fucked. I'm kinda depressed about it now that I'm done. Everything else is, was, so good. But I do not like that plot development. I honestly think it is bad. Why did they choose not to foreshadow this in literally any way? Why did Miquella attempt to resurrect Godwyn at all in the first place, then? Practice? Was this really what was originally planned? There's no actual evidence to the contrary so you gotta assume it must've been.

The tape "Incident 84" probably is a original copy of the show and contains the last episode of the original Sunny Day Jack, aka the one where Jack died/killed (was shot?) while filming. Everything directs that after said incident the producers tried to bury all clues related to it to protect themselves.

(In Jambeebot's drawings there was one with two formers actors of the show in what it seemed an interview or talking with someone who was asking them about the incident and the woman said they didn't let them hold a funeral for Joseph/Jacktor. AND in this drawing his grave seemed improvised God knows where by someone who knew him, no grave per se just a which further proves he didn't get a proper funeral and only the people who worked in the show knew he died at the age 25 under turbulent circumstances.)

So that tape was the only existing one that proved his death/murder, the person who kept it died and somebody donate their things or they get rid of it themselves and that's why Jack was trapped in there.

After all, it contained his death, but also the last moments of his life and who killed him or why he died. The first element his soul could cling to this realm, well, before you.

My problem with the Damian and Jon friendship is that nobody actually cares about them as characters bc Damian gets the boost of being part of the batfam so yall didnt really read or internalize Jon's issues with anything bc ur so mad he got aged up and did his own thing and u cant shoehorn him into the role of damians handler; but Jon is white so you still feel compelled to put more weight onto him (who u dont know or want to know) than damian who u can stereotype as feral, inherently violent, and in need of some sort of keeper/therapist so it just ends up as superbat part 2 except worse bc its literally just clark and bruce with different names slapped onto them bc u dont know or want to know these people

Btw if you ever wanna translate something from my English GG translations into another language, drop me a message and I can send you my manuscripts or the pages I've already cleaned for manga/4koma!! These things take a lot of work and time and, like, I already have the manuscripts and cleaned pages haha Might as well share them and save you some time too lol

The only thing I don't have a good manuscript for are the Artworks GGX 2007 captions. It was my first big translation project and I just kinda did them raw without much documentation. The caption directory .PDF in the Archive.org upload is all there is.

So I guess it's time to learn how to code custom script for google sheets. For this curriculum and instructional coach thing. Yep. Definitely aligns to what I was expecting from the nonexistent job description.

Yes I've enjoyed spending the last two months reading nothing but fic, but man am I so glad to be back to researching stuff for my family's farm!!
