Eviction Process in Connecticut: Dealing with Difficult Tenants and Evicting a Partner
Evicting a tenant in Connecticut follows a legal process outlined by state law. While the specifics may vary depending on your situation, the general steps typically include:
Notice to Quit: Before filing for eviction, you must provide the tenant with a written Notice to Quit, stating the reason for eviction and a deadline to vacate the premises.
Filing a Summons and Complaint: If the tenant refuses to leave after receiving the Notice to Quit, you can file a Summons and Complaint with the local housing court. This initiates the formal eviction proceedings.
Court Hearing: Both parties will have the opportunity to present their case at a court hearing. If the court rules in your favor, a judgment for possession may be issued, ordering the tenant to vacate the property.
Writ of Execution: If the tenant still fails to vacate the property after the judgment, you can request a Writ of Execution from the court. This authorizes the sheriff to physically remove the tenant from the premises.
It's essential to follow the eviction process in CT meticulously and ensure compliance with state and local laws to avoid delays or legal complications.
Dealing with Nightmare Tenants
Evicting a difficult tenant can be a stressful and frustrating experience for landlords. Here are some tips for managing the situation effectively:
Document Everything: Keep detailed records of lease agreements, communication with the tenant, and any lease violations or property damage. Documentation will be crucial evidence if the case goes to court.
Stay Calm and Professional: While it's natural to feel frustrated or angry, maintaining a professional demeanor is essential when dealing with difficult tenants. Avoid confrontations and communicate in writing whenever possible.
Seek Legal Advice: If you're unsure about the eviction process or your rights as a landlord, consult with a qualified attorney specializing in landlord-tenant law. They can provide valuable guidance and representation throughout the process.
Evicting a Partner: Navigating a Sensitive Situation
When a romantic relationship sours and cohabitation becomes untenable, evicting a partner can add an emotional layer to an already challenging situation. Here are some tips for handling it delicately:
Communicate Clearly: Have an honest and respectful conversation with your partner about the need to end the cohabitation arrangement. Clearly communicate your intentions and establish a timeline for them to find alternative housing.
Consider Legal Advice: Depending on your circumstances, you may need to seek legal advice to understand your rights and obligations as a landlord in evicting a partner. An attorney can help you navigate the process while minimizing conflict.
Focus on Self-Care: Ending a relationship and navigating an eviction can take a toll on your emotional well-being. Take time to prioritize self-care and seek support from friends, family, or a therapist if needed.
In conclusion, navigating the eviction process in CT, whether dealing with nightmare tenants or evicting a partner, requires patience, diligence, and a thorough understanding of the law. By following the legal process, maintaining professionalism, and seeking appropriate guidance, landlords can protect their rights and effectively resolve challenging situations.

I think modern au Zhu SHOULD be the lesbian best friend trope to Ouyang except that its because this man is her pet project and gODDDAMIT she's gonna FIX him she's gonna MAKE him be BETTER she's going to SOLVE EVERYTHING and he will RESPECT HER (she is actively making him worse). She has a whole complex about it and everything. She has based a part of her identity on dragging this man up from his toxic funk and is fully convinced that if she tries hard enough he will eventually come to his senses and be an equal participant in this relationship. They have a terrible wonderful toxic loving codependent relationship that's neither a romance nor a friendship nor a rivalry but a secret fourth thing.
Predictably, this does not go well. The character arcs would be Zhu learning she can't fix a sinking ship and letting Ouyang fail by himself, and Ouyang learning to not be a shit person, actually, and coming out of his bubble of self-centeredness and working on himself instead of unloading his emotional labor onto the people around him. And they should both get to develop a healthier relationship with each other than what they had in canon bc queer solidarity is great and its even better when it's in the shape of some weird bullshit some gay people built out of the corpse parts of heteronormative romance (affectionate and completely unironic)
#brought to you by me thinking about the last half of HWDtW and how Zhu interacts with Ouyang post-betrayal#well. interacts with the concept of Ouyang. he kinda (spoilers).#she was unhealthily attached to Ouyang and honestly I think she deserves an universe where her whole deal is reciprocated.#but only AFTER i put them in a fully self sustaining terrarium jar and sic the emotional isopods on them.#that part comes first bc my personal entertainment is CLEARLY the most important thing here guys#the radiant emperor#my thoughts#zhu yuanzhang#OHHH AND ALSO i think Zhu and Ouyang should get to have their weird little gay relationship#while their partners stare in accepting horror.#ma would be supportive bc she knows how important this impressively awful man is to her girlfriend#but rest assured she DOES NOT like him. she will (very politely) bitch about him to Baoxiang and then feel bad about it#she shouldn't feel bad tho bc Ouyang deserves it and Baoxiang repeatedly reminds her of this fact#eventually ouyang grows on her.#kinda like the bowl of mold in the back of the fridge you've developed an emotional attachment to.#he shouldn't be there but now she feels bad about evicting him into the trash!#(she feels significantly less bad about evicting him into Esen's appartment)#Esen has even less of a clue what's happening with Zhu and Ouyang.#he just knows that Zhu is important to Ouyang and also is 90% sure that they fucked at some point.#30% sure that they are still fucking but he grew up around Baoxiang and Ouyang#he has learned Not to Ask! he does Not Want to Know!#and anyways it's none of his bussiness who his bestie/person that he wants to adopt a horse and grow old with/hot roomate is fucking!#its not his problem! he is not invested! he is not going to think about it! there is no reason to think about whos in Ouyang's pants!#he is not thinking about anything involving Ouyang's pants at all! much less about the inside of Ouyang's pants!#and since hes not thinking about it bc theres no reason to think about it then he cant have a problem with it :)#so he wont ask!

If you want to be a home owner please look into local assistance for first time home buyers.
In the US there are special loans for first time home buyers as well as assistance if you want to live in a rural area ( FHA and USDA loans). Special loans are more flexible with minimum down payment and credit score minimums as well as don't have some requirements that Conventional Loans have.
Ie one thing that helped us is Conventional loans require you to work full time consistently in the same field for 2 years. FHA only requires 6 months of employment and a letter explaining your history and to have an income that can afford the loan. I didn't have the work history needed for a Convention Loan.
The Loans, Grants, and Assistance vary state to state and you may have other options if you live in a major city. (Our second grant was only for our area.)
There also may be government backed housing assistance agencies which will help you with going through the process for free or a low payment (our state requires you to do some education with them for the FHA loan, and it was free).
My partner and I recently bought a house with a FHA Loan/Grant and a First Homeowners Grant from our lender (which has the qualifications of being a low income area, low income, as well as first homeowners). We were able to forgo any down payment or closing costs and will be paying less monthly costs then the rentals we were considering month to month.
We still had to pay some things. We paid for inspection, appraisal, insurance upfront, refundable deposit and 1000 dollars at closing.
FHA loans also have the added cost of loan insurance for month to month costs, but overall is still cheaper then renting so 🤷 I am not complaining.
Another thing to expect as a lower income buyer is you likely will only be able to afford fixer uppers so expect to have a lot of initial repair costs as well as maintaining your home over time. There is assistance for those things as well but be careful of loan scams when looking for those.
If you do consider going this route, make sure to be thorough with inspections and negotiate with what you find. It is a lot of upfront costs for something you may not go with, but can save you thousands in the long run. We needed to change out knob and tube in our house and since we found it in the inspection we were able to negotiate 12k from the sellers to fix it rather than paying that out of our pockets later. We also saved over a thousand by getting them to service the neglected HVAC. You're not likely to get a seller to fix everything, but you can save a lot with negotiating.
More homeowners can stabilize communities and help rent to not skyrocket uncontrollably. Especially if the homeowners arent nimbys who only care about their property values and instead actually care about their renting neighbors. Homeowners also have more power in your local politics, so taking advantage of these programs and getting more power to disadvantaged people and communities is so important.
#new homeowner#my partner and o have been yapping about this to everyone who will listen because fuck landlords and our city is gentrifying at a terrifyin#pace and the more homeowners the better#low income homeowners#not rich ppl moving in and buying the shiny new luxury housing that was built on demolished 100 yr old rowhomes#i want my neighbors to be safe from eviction and have the equity for retirement#for full disclosure i make 15.50 and my partner makes 17 an hr in a major city#we have good credit but it took a bit of a hit when applying to rentals#i dont know abt this stuff internationally#but theres likely simular stuff

for a romhack thats supposedly about darkrai, eots is reallyyyyyyyy obsessed with chatot. it also reallyyyyyyyy hates chatot.
#we gave the game an unreliable protagonist and narrator who is meant to be kinda terrible bc this is an ‘’off’’ take on the game#meant to feel uncanny and its supposed to be uncomfortable and creepy when the guild members reject you for your behavior#but god chatot is apparently sooooooo nasty and evil and lazy and corrupt we gotta introduce a whole new guy#just to back up the hero that yep!!! hes evil incarnate and nasty!!#the hero is unreliable except for when we wanna vent abt the characters we dont like#its not even that i like chatot and want to defend him it just feels so exhausting and weird#like i thought this was about darkrai why are you spending all these scenes talking about how chatot is horrible and mean#im sorry im not over brelooms backstory. its supposed to be unfair and gross and ik he didnt exactly deserve to get evicted or anything#but seriously???? it comes across like a teen throwing a fit that his mom asked him to do the dishes for one night#and then got upset when the dishes werent done the next morning and asked their mom why she didnt just suck it up and do them#i feel like a factor here is that people forget that the apprentices arent kids. even hero and partner while implied to be young can be seen#as young adults but everyone else comes across like an adult to me. so its not like theyre exploiting babies#echoed voice#it sucks bc other than this i like this romhack quite a bit! i think the stuff with hero is really interesting#i like the second timeline i like the uncomfortable changes i like how you actually make partner worse as an inversion to the vanilla game#but when the chatot stuff happens it takes me out of it. free my man he did some bullshit but not all that

The eighty-ninth free, unedited chapter of my upcoming book, “The Heist at Cordia Aquarium” is now available on its website (or click https://www.kitfisto.gay/chapters/thea to read from the beginning).
Downtown Rooterdale is abustle: drivers curse their way through afternoon traffic, some self-censoring with their car's horn; pedestrians dart from between parked cars and into the street; cyclists hurtle down bike lanes, straight through red lights, and — in the case of one — into the passenger window of a violently green Volkswagen Beetle.
Albert's gut curdles. Staring upon the spectacle from Topiary Corporate Plaza's thirty-second floor, they shake their head. "Total disregard for life. An unnecessary commute in the morning — equally as fraught; eight hours in an office chair; then this. All to go home and sleep until tomorrow where they'll start again. It's like they don't realize just how fragile they are or how little time they have. Why do they do it? Why don't they stop?" Albert sighs. "Ants following the orders of a decrepit queen. Her life sustained by the masses' ignorance and a comfort of the already known. Shame, isn't it? Just how close we are to something great, while at the same time, being so far?"
A woman's voice comes from behind them, each word weighted by age, the echo of a sparsely decorated room, and a healthy helping of sass. "Banal of you." She says.
Albert glances back, just over their shoulder. "Humans are rarely anything else."

my homophobic downstairs neighbor has lost it he is literally scratching at his walls with his fingernails and hitting his ceiling (our floor) with a some kind of multipronged stick while fake laughing really loudly specifically to be passive aggressive toward us
#dude is just pissed he cant get our landlord to evict us for *checks notes* walking around our apartment and talking to each other#but boy has he tried!#he even called the cops on us when we had a brief argument#he told the police it sounded like we were holding a woman hostage (we are two gay men!!!!)#he has lied to our landlord about pretty much every imaginable infraction of our lease that we have never broken#so much so that our landlord has BARRED HIM FROM MAKING COMPLAINTS ABOUT US WITHOUT PROOF#so now he's taken to trying to mimic our unavoidable everyday noises in the loudest and most terrifying way imaginable#hence the fake laughter (my partner and I always make each other laugh) and the multipronged stick (to mimic the sound of dog feet)#dunno what that scratching at the wall is supposed to be tho

you think i'd be better at this given its my third time moving in two months
#moved in with my long term serious partner and then found out she had an eviction notice she didn't tell me about so I would live with her#so I had to move in then move out (broke up with her bc i cant trust my safety anymore) after just a few weeks back to my shitty parents#and it took me a little over a month to find a space in disability housing which was SO FKN QUICK FOR THAT#I got super lucky and I dont have a specific social worker bc theyre too swamped to get me one#so one of the guy in charge of the local social workers has been acting as my social worker#so since he was in charge he knew a new program had JUST started and had room so he applied for me which really got me in quick#they started buying houses in poorer areas and renting them to disabled ppl for EXTREMELY subsidized prices. 1600 split between three peopl#with a yard and all utilities including internet fully covered. And house cleaning#and I actually like the 'bad' area its in. Its just bad enough to be mostly free of chains so the area has small local grocers who sell foo#sell food so cheap it made my head spin when I popped into one after finalizing the move in date#its far away from my sibling tho :(#this is on the west side of the next over city and my sibling is on the far west metro of the main city#its 2hr 14m bus ride one way#were going to try and hang out at a board game venue mid way between us :)

Whoo! dyin my hair! buzzed it all off again cause I hate how having hair feels! Gonna dye it half blue half pink and be cotton candy!!! Yay! Yippee!! I'm so glad it's gone! Everyone in my life hates it when I do this but it's my hair! SO GET FUCKED!!! maybe if your hair felt like horrible straw tickling your face/ears/neck 24/7 you'd understand! Also it gives me gender euphoria! What am I? Who knows!!!
(My partner and sibling are supportive but like it when I grow it out but again I hate it so its goooone 🙂)
UPDATE:
It is done! Took 3hrs to bleach/dye! Pretty happy with it, once it grows out a bit ill do the same thing again and when I get bored I'll just dye it back to black again lol
#i hate having hair#annoying stuff!#everyone is so precious about their hair which i can completely understand and empathize with#but i wish they would've be precious about mine! who cares man#its so fine and thin and straight and boring like what am i supposed to do with that? any styles i like would require styling#and i can barely manage to take care of myself some days do you really think i have energy for that?#my partner has beautiful floofy curly hair and it just looks good without anything done to it#if my hair was like that i would keep it but its not so it can get evicted#rant about hair
