Dog person here: You’re right. People need to train their dogs better and take actual responsibility for them. I was traumatized by a dog when I was really young, and I only got over it after getting a dog which we trained with a professional and got certified as a Canine Good Citizen. Even then, we refuse to go to dog parks because dog owners often suck at taking responsibility for their dog and watching them.

Omg back when I liked dogs a bit more I would take my moms dog to the dog park & it was like a glorified dog fighting ring. Literally every 30 minutes there would be another fight — against other dogs, against people etc.

I’m at the point now where I am less afraid of a muzzled & leashed reactive dog than somebodies unleashed doodle. With the former, I know I can at least trust that the owner knows how to handle their dog

Literally this entire 2 months has been comically bad for my health. Like it just keeps going it’s crazy. Got bit by my moms horrible dogs while having Covid while not being able to take my arthritis medication because it suppresses my immune system right after I recovered from a uti while taking medication to heal my ulcer while monitoring my suspiciously high BP. And then I got my period
