as someone who is extremely behind on the story and refuses to catch up I can assure you I am just as lost on the lore lmao

that being said, I think happy Kalpas would be back at the orphanage. like he definitely craves violence after the MANTIS surgery, but I don't think he's happy there. he's constantly caged by like a minimum of 3 things at all times. I think half the reason he enjoys fighting so much is because he's allowed to let loose a little

I think he genuinely likes Sakura and I'm not entirely sure how he feels about aponia because he swings wildly between "I want her dead" and "nah that's my bestie" and I love him for it. so if it were a dream world I think some of the flame chasers would be there, but not necessarily all of them

Obsessed with the way Evadne's relationship with Apollo is described. Obsessed with the way Apollo was especially gentle with her because she was sheltered, hidden away and hadn't had any sort of experience with love prior to Apollo (and due to it being described as her 'first learning Aphrodite's joy' through Apollo', it was probably her first time even being attracted to someone). Obsessed with the way when she runs away, she stops in a violet patch to give birth. Y'know, violets, very famously the flower so strongly associated with Aphrodite that they were used in love potions? Those violets. Obsessed with the way that when Apollo realised his lover was going to have to deliver their child alone, he sent BOTH the goddess of childbirth and ALL THREE OF THE FATES to help and support her. So...Okarun definitely has Thoughts about the Ayase family dynamic, right?

Every time I see Momo and Seiko interacting in the show, I can't help but wonder what's going on inside Okarun's head. Like, he heard Momo gassing her up when they first met and talking about how much she regrets her past actions while they were ghost/alien hunting--but then the first time he sees them together they constantly fight and call each other stupid/hag.

Whatever you think his home situation is, he has to find the dissonance between Momo's words to him and actions to her grandmother strange, and maybe even concerning. He probably hasn't said anything because:

He's an awkward fellow, after all.

He does see the moments where they stop pretending to hate each other.

But he definitely notices that things are strange; probably has already come to the conclusion that their current behavior stems from Momo's temper tantrum and years-long silent treatment. And the fact that both Ayase women seem to be allergic to talking about their feelings or apologizing.

So what if one day...he decides to meddle?

He definitely thinks it's not his place to do so, but at the same time he is falling madly in love with this girl. And her grandmother has accepted him into her home, feeds him, helped them both with their paranormal problems, and given him the first place that he feels he belongs in. He feels like he owes it to them to at least facilitate a better understanding between them. They both saved him--keep saving him--and he wants to at least save them from feeling like the only way they can communicate is with insults and bringing up the past.

However, doing something about a rocky relationship without making it worse is even harder than it sounds, and Okarun isn't exactly swimming in interpersonal relationship experience. He hasn't figured out what to do, and the only thing he has decided for sure is that he can't rely on their other friends for this task. They mean well, and most of them have more experience with making up with people than he does, but he thinks that they are a bit clumsy for something so delicate. So for now, he just tries to keep them closer together and distract Ayase-san when she gets a bit too vitriolic.

Meanwhile: Seiko and Momo are extremely grateful for the craziness of the last few months bringing them closer together than they've been in literal years, and have no interest in rocking the boat and upending all the progress they've made--even if they think things could improve more quickly.

Also they are a bit confused why four-eyes recently prefers to quietly hang out with Momo in the living room while Seiko watches her shows instead of letting her drag him up to her room like usual.

Security breach's story (including ruin) was super weird, right? Left a lot unexplained, introduced a lot of confusing elements, cleared nothing up, and made it worse with the ending of ruin. Very frustrating.

But.

I have a bold claim - in this essay I'm going to tell you that I think I've found the unifying theory of security breach, INCLUDING ruin. And no, it's nothing that's mentioned in the actual game.

It's 'Remnant'.

Now presumably matpat or some other theorist has made more detailed connections and I just haven't been able to find it, and I'm a casual fan at best lol. But I'm quite chuffed, so. I'm sharing.

Remnant is basically glowing soul juice produced by high emotions - children, trauma, excitement, suffering, death. Ectoplasm, essentially. It gets into physical objects and stores that emotion, like how a stuffed teddy is full of love or a torture device is full of pain. Yay!

Afton, during his killing spree, harvested this remnant from kids to fuel his plan for immortality (or something). He discovered along the way that if it was infused into a material like metal, then it could be shaped and, when combined with any form of intelligence ('even ai', he says!) it acts as a source of independent power 'that translates into movement, which is why things may appear haunted'. Ergo, animatronics. His perfect army of golems and test subjects.

The first round was, of course, fnaf 1, with the children literally stuffed into the suits to power them, which, yikes, horrible, and in a food establishment? Later he figured out how to skip the rotting corpse step and directly infuse metal, which made it temperature volatile and apparently hard to store. Anything is better than the first round. This resulted in sister location with the scooper, which could (as best I figure?) take the remnant out directly and store it for later use. It could also recycle animatronics, to scrap them without wasting all that precious soul juice that could theoretically power something forever.

Anyway, decades later, the same company is still running, and their precious 'animatronics' are now full on artificially intelligent robots with an army of drone cleaners and a dozen well covered up missing children.

You see where I'm going with this?

I think the glam rock animatronics are crafted out of the newest, highest grade remnant metal to bring them to life (maybe a little too much)... and to aid in the gathering of remnant to power Trap/afton, in his little recharge pod under the earth, at vannys direction. (And presumably all that after hour neon lighting, let's be real.)

The animatronics are all secretly equipped with track and destroy technology - roxy with her sensitive ears and x-ray eyes, chica with her stunlock voice box, monty with his metal rending claws and pouncing ability... Freddy with his chest cavity big enough to fit a small child. Like old times!

I swear the daycare attendant has infrared vision and very possibly direct access to the cctv, but anyway. (I also swear freddy collapsing on stage and triggering the safety protocol after hours was the only thing keeping him from joining, even leading the pack of machines to comb the place and take Gregory down to the scooper by trick or by stick, and Gregory almost made a fatal decision when he hid in the chest cavity. No freddy has ever been nice after hours, and there's no reason given why this one is.)

Back to the DA, it gives the implications of their old power core (freddys original upgrade and heavily theorised to have previously belonged to the only 'tronic out during the hourly recharge) a whole new meaning. Perhaps the setting of the daycare and all that happy sugar high children energy making happy memories was a perfect environment for a low level (experimental? Inefficient?) sort of... Emotional photosynthesis? It would explain why one half is the daycare and the other is the security patrol. Food for thought. Obviously freddy isn't able to receive all those benefits for a number of reasons.

(And it might explain the poor treatment of the DA, too, if the core was removed for some reason, and why sun is struggling so hard to keep his hopes up if it can no longer absorb and process literal happiness vibes for the best haunting ever. Poor guy always gets the short end of the stick. Maybe it also explains why the DA is the only animatronic to glow... because of the remnant metal? The extra juice they were supposed to have?)

Yeah, but what about ruin? How does it fit into this?

Well, for one, the new scooper. It's the literal gathering tool and storage place for all this remnant, so it's presumably pretty vital. Afton is parked directly above it in a recharge pod, sucking up all that sweet sweet juice. He's literally drinking children's tears, the monster.

And the mimic. Because there's a second part to remnant that only becomes relevant now. It's the worst and strongest emotion that can only be created through immense pain and suffering. 'Agony'. A black sludge of distilled horrors. And the thing is, it's highly infectious. But agony is useless. Unless it's combined with remnant in a specific way, and the resulting reaction is extremely powerful and dangerous.

The mimic is infected with agony. And it's found itself probably the biggest source of remnant in the world. The battery of (potentially) the whole pizza plex, and every animatronic inside it. (Moon may well have been the first infected... If the patrol animatronic encountered the mimic on its arrival. Ooh, now there's a thought. It's more likely it saw and tried to stop vanny from some unethical activity (it's a purely robot job!) And she... Prevented it from becoming a recurring issue with the glitch code. Ah, but there's no proof.)

Either all that remnant is now corrupted, or converted. My money is not on converted because the mimic is not spreading a plague of suffering across the land, and is instead trying to lure kids in again to replenish the remnant. And the poor animatronics are still clinging to blackened, crippled life.

It certainly would explain why the company just dropped the entire location without either bulldozing it to the ground or trying to scavenge and repair. With the animatronics infected with agony, it's far too dangerous to do either, and of course officials absolutely cannot find out.

TLDR: I think the missing puzzle piece is 'Remnant' to explain aftons presence, the strangely alive animatronics, the point of all those child disappearances Gregory was supposed to be investigating, the scooper, the mimic, vannys actual job as head enabler for afton, the animatronic's violent upgrades, the true goal of the pizza plex and why it was built over the sinkhole, but most importantly... how they're footing that electricity bill.

But hey ;D! That's just a theory!

anyway the story I've got so far is Quya is the elder sister to Kuzco and was originally heir to the throne. Quya was fifteen years old when Kuzco was born (and in my AU, when they lost their mother, Empress Sayri, who Kuzco is a spitting image of <3) and she was eighteen and Kuzco three when their father, Emperor Uqllu, set sail for an overseas trade agreement with a king of India. However, his ship was caught in a horrible storm that sunk it, leaving no survivors.

my story/AU is based heavily off of Kingdom of the Sun, what Emperor's New Groove was going to be before the tone was completely changed. so weeks after their father set sail with a promise to return in a few months (effectively leaving Quya in charge of both her brother and the kingdom with Yzma and the imperial council's help), Kuzco started having nightmares every night.

Now the thing you most need to know about Quya is that she loves her family, especially her baby brother, more than anything in the entire world. And she is reckless and impulsive with her own safety.

Quya had snuck into Yzma's lab before to tinker with her elixirs and stuff, and so she snuck down there in the middle of the night to find something that might help her brother. What she ends up finding is an incantation meant to chanted during a very specific sacrifice to a very specific deity. She uncovers a plot to sacrifice a son of the sun (aka Kuzco) to unleash Supay from his prison beneath the earth.

Quya takes this incantation, fearing for her brother's life, and runs to the temple of Inti. She is seen and chased by Supay conspirators all the way to the temple. She throws the incantation into the fires of Inti, is attacked by conspirators, and (I've actually just changed this a little lol) Inti in his rage turns the conspirators into ash with his flames and turns Quya into gold to protect her.

For the next fifteen years, Quya is believed to be dead, and Kuzco is raised with the ghosts of his family, barely able to remember them.

Until Quya is found during a Chipmunk Scout field trip to the temple of Inti. When she is found, she is turned back into a human, and now has to grapple with the fact that so much time as passed and her baby brother is barely a year younger than she is now. :3

IT IS SOOOO MESSY AND SOOOO COMPLICATED AND THEY LOVE EACH OTHER THEY DO BUT THEY ALSO HAVE TO LEARN HOW TO HAVE A SIBLING AND HOW TO BE A SIBLING AND RAHHHH THEY MAKE ME EMO!!!!

Since Claire's the Trollhunter in First Frost how do her and Strickler's interactions go after she finds out he's a Changeling, or sorta Changeling, like does she go after him straight away or tell her friends? Because they almost never interacted in Trollhunters.

I’ve actually thought about this because I don’t think they ever really did interact at least not after he was outed as a changeling, even when she was possessed, which is so strange.

But she connects the pieces after the Grit Shaka incident and they get the Gumm Gumm totem off another one of the kids. Jim still has no idea, neither does Barbara.

Claire does confront him alone, a very Claire move, out of blue and Strickler isn’t surprised, he drops the ball that he knows she’s cursed, but he still isn’t aware she’s the Trollhunter which comes back to bite him exponentially not long after.

I’ve got most of it blocked out and man, they’re both really cunning, and natural thinkers, the dialogue gets so snippy. And here he knows exactly where to antagonize, her strained relationship with her mom, being cursed, her little brother in the darklands, she almost goes after him right then and there for that comment. But the interaction happens in a public place so she can’t exactly get away with beating her history teacher to a pulp without running the high risk of getting hauled to the station.

Claire does actually end up telling the other kids about Strickler after she confronts him, the only reason she didn’t immediately is because one, she wasn’t a hundred percent sure and two, Jim and Barbara.

The dinner goes down a lot differently afterwards, because Strickler assumes the Trollhunter is actually Jim still, he isn’t expecting to get sacked by 5’5 of fury from the basement nor Draal more so later.
