you know, it's funny, I watched this earlier with a friend, and it did leave me with... uneasy feelings of dread, but I was also confused

also i'm so invested in how the prime defenders specifically r interacting with like... fame & public knowledge & such within the cape world context. it's so compelling to me how genuinely uninterested and sometimes genuinely angry they are at fame & notoriety as it comes w/ the superhero package!! and they're like, a big fucking deal, objectively. they're the next justice league if superman himself was like yes these kids specifically are the only ones i think can do it. it would be so easy both for them as players & characters to lean into it! & i know at least some of them, id b surprised if not all of them have at least seen the boys, which is ofc primarily About the way capehood & social power interact in fucked up ways so that has to be in the mix somewhere. idk man it's so tasty 2 me i loove getting a piece of superhero media where all the main characters r just doin their business in street clothes, no one goes oh my god its virion!! or dc!! holy shit its the prime defenders!! & theyre actively disillusioned with & evading the social power that comes with superheroism it's so fun dude.

some thoughts:

i understand why people just dont really like endgame

either they hate marvel

or they hate the ending of it in some way

but to the people angry about nat not getting a funeral with tony

well neither did vision

or any of the other people who died in those battles

because it wasnt about that

it was about saying goodbye to an era

the era that was build on the back of tony stark

thats why i find it so emotional

because youre not just saying goodbye to tony, who is an amazing character with so much growth, youre saying goodbye to the ten years we had and 20+ movies that we loved, even if begrudgedly.

i dont remember watching iron man the first time, but i do remember the feelings i get from watching it and for that it remains my favorite marvel movie and even one of my favorite movies in general

thats what we're saying goodbye to, the memories. whether you watched it when you were at home, or in the theatre, or on an airplane or something. youre saying goodbye to that decade, to how those movies affected you and the world!!

you guys forget that media is for the benefit of the audience - and this audience started in 2008 when tony stark looked at the camera and said
