I do agree with it being a genuine issue that people can't fathom relationships that aren't romantic or sexual but as equally devoted to each as those ones.

It's an issue in fandom and also in real life.

I'm very very close with my best friend and I have the same level of devotion towards them as one would a romantic partner. I'd buy a house with them or raise a kid, stuff like that. But we aren't romantically/sexually involved with each other and don't ever want to be.

Also because we are physically affectionate with each other people are always asking if we are having sex or if we are dating or when are we going to date.

I do think it's how we are socialized as we are growing up that makes this an issue.

Hey, have you done any compilation on the magic system? Namely, I've been trying to figure it out. First, the caster's own mana is a factor (needs to be cycled to do magic at all), but then so is ambient mana *and* spirits in the surrounding environment (what actually causes much of the spell's effect to occur, most spells won't work unless there's enough around). Second, there's at least two different kinds of mana sickness: shock from cycling too much at once, and running out. Any comments?

So perhaps inside the dungeon you need to use less of your own mana to use spells of the same power? So trying to use them similar to how it was used in the surface made it too powerful?

Magic is something that just exists everywhere even outside the dungeon, I don't know if there's spells that "wont work" if there isn't enough magic around but they would probably be weakened and demand more of the caster's own magic?

This is speculation tho, I don't really remember this being mentioned explicitly but my brain is working a little slow today lol.

I know monsters need ambient magic similar to air so they cannot survive in places where there isn't enough, that's one of the reasons why dungeon lords are weaker near the surface: not enough ambient magic to support big monsters.

And yes there's two types of sickness related to magic like you said, the one about cycling magic in your body is prevented by the "warm up" exercises which is one of the reasons Marcille says hair is important for magic, caring for it works as an exercise to cycle magic thru your body

It was a similar story but very different. Guard, Suncat and Senior guard were all characters in it.

-In the og comic there was no god. The cats worshipped the sun but it wasnt like an actual being, just their belief.

-instead of dying slowly because of the god Suncats starved themselves on purpose as a sacrifice so the sun wouldnt burn everything (they lived in a desert).

-the cats were very much humans just drawn as cats cause little Sysi didnt know how to draw humans lol. Like they had houses and shit

-also i am very much sure that it was disrespectful to some cultures. Not on purpose, I just didnt really understand stuff like this at that point of my life (it was before stuff like "why it isnt ok to put feathers in warrior cats' heads" or really anything about cultural appropriation were discussed in my circles). I didnt take inspiration on anything specific but still. Ive learned a lot since then, I was a kid back then.

-The storyline was very different since the god wasnt real. It was mostly Guard proving that and the whole city going to chaos and literally everyone died. (Cat thats replaced with Sugarpaws tried to kill Guard, but Suncat stopped her and died of her wounds, Guard died because he stayed with dying Suncat in a fire, "Sugarpaws" was killed by Senior guard and I think Senior guard was killed by smoke??? Or she died because she pushed "sugarpaws" off a roof and went down with her????)

-Also Guard's and Suncat's relationship was way more vague to the point that some readers saw it as parent and child and some even romantic. I believe i saw them as friends, there was no romance in the comic

-The old comic is still public in jumalanpelko instagram (i dont update the new comic there anymore tho cause Instagram is PAINFUL to put comics in that hoe just cuts the pics as it wants). It is OLD and only in finnish tho

hi I'm here regarding your tags: Cara's terminal illness? He's not having a good time with it but the presence of his rash means he's in secondary stage, which comes prior to latent, asymptomatic phase. The vast majority of people who suffer from syphilis don't actually live long enough for any other reason to EVER hit the tertiary stage which causes death. I think it's safe to say Caracalla's immune system is weak as all hell and he probably won't be that lucky, but he has the best part of his infection ahead - the part where it stops existing, sometimes for decades, before coming back with a vengeance. In theory, if he made it through the fevers and the rest of all that is going wrong with him in the time we get to know him, eventually, it would ease up. For years.

Also, without Macrinus - Geta was actually coming to learn to play the crowds. He listened to Lucilla when Lucilla chose mercy for Lucius against their rhino rider. He hesitates to make the call to the archers - despite all of his rage and hurt - when Lucius refuses to execute Acacius on command. Without Macrinus egging him on, he was hearing the crowd. Despite everything.

This is such a cope but it's also all true. They had hope. They're so goddamn young, but they were going through their hard lessons, and at least one of them was learning. The other one needed bed rest and antibiotics.

Oh - the terminal part I tagged that mostly cause I saw someone else who tagged it the same way and saw that syphilis could possibly get to a worst stage which I knew you could treat with antibiotics nowadays but wasn't entirely sure what happened back then when that wasn't really a thing.. (though I'll admit that I should've done a bit more of a search before that because I don't have a very in depth knowledge of how syphilis works and didn't know how long syphilis takes to get to the terminal point) - and honestly I'm still kinda learning a lot about their characters, which is why I honestly adore your posts though I do still always feel quite awkward/bad whenever I mischaracterise them cause they're genuinely such wonderful characters and I think sometimes I'm a bit too caught up with what they were in the films (manipulated and therefore not rlly having a great time...) and I don't give enough time to think about what they could've been had things gone different ways such as if Geta had had a chance to continue to grow as a person/emperor without Macrinus messing around in the background (though I was mostly basing that tag off of the fact that on the night of Geta's death people were really starting to riot and I didn't think enough about the fact that those rioters don't even get in that night cause like the next day Caracalla has a chance to announce the new consuls and eventually continue with the games and stuff - so my brain decided to just hand me a scenario that wasn't even all that canon compliant in the first place).

i have this headcanon i adore where jay and alex were hanging out in college at jay and alex’s apartment and brian comes over to visit. one thing leads to another and alex is sitting in the kitchen while brian pierces his ear because this guy wanted his ears pierced. it doesn’t hurt but it’s the sort of shock more than anything (and blood) that sorta makes him cry? it’s not a bad cry just a sort of in shock cry that jay eventually talks him through, and afterward alex really does like the piercings. i have ideas on what follows but i shan’t say for now. but it’s a hc i really enjoy, the intimacy in something not quite intimate but you’re doing because you adore your friend/partner thing. plus i love giving them fun college experiences.

I just. I love needleplay. It's so fucking pretty. And making it permanent rather than being play piercings they have to take out right after? Even better. God Alex would look so pretty. I think he'd have to sit in his hands so he doesn't panic last second and grab Brian's wrist to stop him, because he does want his ears pierced, his lip pierced, his nose pierced, his eyebrow pierced, but he's always been bad with pain, or things he thinks will hurt. The whole thing gets Alex so floaty so fast, and they knew it was going to happen, but they didn't realise just how fast he'd go down with the shock of the pain. Like getting both piercings actually done takes less than a minute, Brian's good at this by now, he's done so many of his friends and his own piercings, but they spend like a solid half and hour afterwards just cuddling and Brian telling Alex how amazing he was, how well he sat still even though he wanted to squirm away. He's so fucking soft with it. They're not even dating or anything, it's just a good ol' helping of platonic kink, y'know?

Like, if it was Jay getting pierced, Brian would kiss him and probably fuck him afterwards, just cos, but this is Alex, so they just cuddle and eat snacks and watch a movie together and it's fucking amazing and they love each other so much. I do like the idea of Brilex having a totally platonic kink relationship. Like, they never kiss, they don't fuck or get off during the sessions, just have fun with pretty rope, or piercings like this, or wax or literally whatever, y'know? Stuff like that.

We know that Aziraphale meticulously took care of them, so I imagine they're at their Supreme Archangel desk doing some kind of boring paperwork and they mutter something like "...I miss taxes.".

But another Archangel hears them and, even though they don't really want to know, Aziraphale is now the Supreme Archangel and they have to be at least a little polite to them, so they ask what taxes are.

And Aziraphale, for the first time since going back to Heaven, gets that glint in their eyes and starts a detailed and passionate explanation about what taxes are, what they're for and how they did it while they were on Earth. At first, they don't even notice that the other Archangels' faces are progressively becoming more and more confused and horrified, but then, at the end of the explanation, someone says "This must be one of Hell's cruelest inventions.".

Of course it was us humans' own creation (even tho a certain demon might have gotten a commendation for it), but Aziraphale is also a bit of a bastard, so they tell them taxes were actually one of their assignments. And then leaves.

And that's how the Archangels start doubting Heaven. :)

Okay, I'm obviously joking, but it would be hilarious for Aziraphale to start a kind of revolution without even knowing, just because they talk nonstop about Earth.

Incorrect, the fact that Biden has dropped out and a candidate with history of supporting medicare for all and being more receptive to a ceasefire in the I/P conflict has made me go from "I cannot morally support the Democratic nominee" to "I am voting for the Democratic nominee despite the fact she isn't perfect in every respect." I'm really happy this played out. The Dems for the most part abandoned the old Obama platform and it feels like its possible an actual progressive agenda could come to pass in my lifetime.
