i might be wrong because eunho's girlfriend timeline is a bit hard to follow, but i think eungyeol unknowingly almost invited eunyoo to his concert twice - once thru sekyung ("come with your daughter") and once thru eunho ("come with your girlfriend")

Okay so I recently started twinkling watermelon (or sparkling watermelon) and I binge watched all 6 eps in one day (yea I'm hooked). I like all the characters and I really like the slow paced romance between Yi Chan and Cheong-Ah. BUT I'M WAY MORE INVESTED IN EUN GYEOUL AND SE KYUNG'S *I mean her daughter's* STORY !! I'm not a good writer so if you're interested in them as well and you're a good writer then please write a fanfic about them if you don't mind :"")<3

Watching yesterday's episode it came to mind: what if Se Kyung's first love was not Yi Chan but someone she met in New York before her future husband traveled there? 🤔Now listen, I don't remember that Kyung mentioned where her first love was, if we follow the original timeline (and from what I understood) she travels to New York before the festival takes place and she didn't came back to Korea after many many years later. Therefore I think Eun Yu is in the right year but in the wrong country,When she arrives in 1995 she does so through an airport which makes me think that in reality she should have taken a plane to New York and not stayed there, therefore she's making a mess with the timeline of Eun Gyeol and his family than her own life which (I think) would not change much if she returned to her present.

YICHAN STRUGGLING TO SEND CHEONGHA A FAX?? FALLING TO THE FLOOR IN FRUSTRATION WITH ALL HIS CRUMPLED UP PAPERS? THE FIGHT, THE WATCHING, THE SKETCHBOOK CONFESSION, THE SONG ALL FOR HER 🤧🤧🤧 AND HE FELL FOR HER BEFORE SEKYUNG EVEN CHOSE EUNGYEOL AH I'M SO EMO 😭😭😭😭😭

the absolute cutest part for me was in the original past, Yichan chased after Sekyung, got rejected, lost his hearing, and THEN dated Cheongah. i was really worried about the butterfly affect (or, in Eungyeol and Eunyoo's case, the bull in a china shop affect) making it so if those things didn't happen, he wouldn't have ended up with Cheongah, but here he goes still choosing her 🥺 here he goes punching abelists for her 🥺 here he goes learning sign language and teaching his friends to greet her 🥺🥺🥺 here is Yichan, who fell in love with Cheongah dispite them being in "diffrent worlds", and immediately showed her off. AND THEY DID ALL OF IT basically by themselves 😭💔💔

+ 5 bonus points for Eunyoo getting happy when Eungyeol told her he started liking "Sekyung" after she came back from the US, so he truly only fell for Eunyoo and not her mom

AGRHSJIFHSOHDOSJD I KNOW RIGHT 😭😭😭😭😭

for Eungyeol sign language is simply one of his native languages. It's normal. His parents and brother are deaf, so they sign. It's the only language used at home. His father tells him he met his mother in a sign language class at age 20 but I don't think he ever processed that information. He doesn't process that both of them had to take classes as young adults. And then he meets his mother at age 18, scared and angry and deprived of expressive language. Isolated. Locked away. And he knows that eventually sign language will become her main language and he'll learn it from her as an infant. She will overcome this and she'll be happy. But he has the chance to give her the power to express herself freely without needing pen and paper. Two years earlier.

When Ha Eun Gyol realized how Cheong Ha was treated. Like, way more than just not allowing her to speak, but by putting her in a dark, closed place... how sad he was. And how relieved she was to have someone find her.

This scene broke me.

And I love that Ha Yi Chan was angry at the dad. He's right! How easy for him to act like he didn't know. It was convenient for him not to know!

this episode of twinkling watermelon had me in actual tears

i dont think you guys fully realize the impact and importance of this scene

if you deny access to sign language to a deaf kid (specially if they were born deaf) and force them to use oral language exclusively, you are taking away their chance to learn their language, their chance to express themselves, their chance to grow and evolve as their own person and their birth right to access language, knowledge and education

eungyeol was so fucking on point for it and he is by far the best character of the entire drama

you see i will shit on this drama if needed (even if i like it) but i assure you i will point out as well the stuff they do get right
