buck coming out to eddie scene is crazy work actually. eddie comes over like buck i need to stay here in your zero bedroom apartment with no couch for the next couple of days so i can Not have sex with my girlfriend. and buck says. eddie this all seems very unfortunate for you. for unrelated reasons i have to tell you now that i’m bisexual. and eddie’s like. wow that is so awesome for you buck. this changes nothing, you’ll always be my bestfriendcoworker. i need you to know this. and buck says wow. eddie i’m so relieved to hear that. even though he, in truth, is not relieved to hear this at all. and then eddie makes it worse and is like buck you should call that guy. i really want you to do that. even though he, in truth, did not want buck to do that at all. and buck, who was actually not planning to call that guy, is trapped now because eddie told him to do something and he’s under a magic spell that makes him do whatever eddie says. and eddie, who came to bucks apartment to do emotional infidelity in the first place, is also trapped. because well. he can’t just break up with his girlfriend now. that would look Insane.

So... I saw the script where Hen and Karen are discussing Mara and that maybe she'll be happier with Chim and Maddie and I can just say. No. No thank you. The child would be better with a dad and a mom and not two moms who've treated her so well?? They better not go there, that'd be disgusting.
"A dad and a mom is better than two moms, they get her so well" let me barf.

I need Hen to fight back. Like girl, you want to look into my past and decide I did things wrong? How many times did you pay people to hide the damages that your druggy son did? I'm going to find dirt on you baby, just wait.

It was a really good drama! I had a hard time getting into it, and I was on my phone most of the time during the first, like, 5 episodes, but then I got hooked and I'm really glad I took the time to watch it.
Loved the couple, loved how much of a green flag they were! ❤️

Rewatching Hit the Top/The Best Hit: Ddabong appreciation post
draft dump, I forgot to post this earlier
That's Woo-seung and Hyun-jae right there showing us their famous ddabong sequence. She was once about to smack him in the head with a frying pan but ended up kissing him instead. Yes, it only happens in k-dramas and this one is obviously a comedy. If you want to watch something on the lighter side, this is it. There's lots of laughter, a love "triangle", mysterious plots, time-travelling and a very happy ending.
Even though I wouldn't call what happened a triangle since Woo-seung was never into anyone other than Ddabong. And I obviously love spoilers, sorry.
I'm not sure when it became a thing to act like you don't care or pretend like you don't know what your (potential) partner needs or wants. Maybe that is why I enjoy this comedy so much. Here's the thing.
Woo-seung is pretty mature from the very beginning but suppresses her feelings a lot. Hyun-jae is ... well, a very intelligent chaotic mess. As we watch progress of relationship between our two main leads, point when things moved from 0 becomes very obvious. During the process, these two just check all the green flags. Not only that, but each of these characters individually grows so much as the plot develops and it's enjoyable to watch it happening.
What moved me is the way in which Hyun-jae fell for Woo-seung. Something I hadn't fully noticed before is his active presence and support, the fact that he continually shows up for her in crucial moments. Sure, it's typical for a drama, scenes where characters run into each other are cliché but I have to address this once and for all.
Yeah, my first thought is Ddabong's love language is obviously acts of service but I swear he displays all 5 of them. Perfect bf material alert. But they don't make them like that where I live. (╥﹏╥)
Things like that happen in real life too. People accidentally run into each other all the time. There is no fate that will make you behave in all the right ways in those exact moments.
Yet Ddabong and Woo-seung did it. They are these normal people who knew how to be friends first.
While they call it fate, I call it deep mutual understanding. And being on the same wavelength. Like, energy introduces you even before you speak kind of thing.
You know. They're right for each other.
The way he makes her feel less alone is what's interesting. Without asking many questions, he does things for her she never explicitly asks for, and she genuinely needs those things done for her. And even though some might say he was not like this since day one, I have to point out they were complete strangers back then. And with time, things change.
She needs someone to stand up for her, she needs a safe space in another person, something which she never had growing up. And he needs her.
Now that worked magically for both of them.
Yes, things happened for them in the right order. But if someone else was in their shoes, this same thing might have taken a completely different turn. Or, to be more poetic. They both poured love into each other, right in places where the wounds are.
That kind of mature support hits differently. He's the one, not because he brings her flowers and buys her sweets as a simbol of his infatuation. Not because he pursues her tirelessly. But because everything he does, he does it from his heart.
No matter how short a friendship lasts, it can still hold a greater weight and meaning than a lifelong one. He's her true best friend, Hyun-jae. And if I consider the emotional intelligence of this character, I'll always favour Ddabong. He's silly, yes, but his emotional range and a way of showing up is much more mature than any other character's.
Like no, don't bring her flowers and chocolates, bring her the last meal she had with her dad and make us cry our hearts out (╥﹏╥)
When someone is genuinely interested in you and wants to know you, it feels different. When someone doesn't idolise you, and makes up versions of you in their head, but simply likes you for who you are. Good and bad. Everything.
That's a turning point for Woo-seung, as Ddabong also lets her see his true self, he doesn't hide who he is. He is not afraid to be known. And he isn't afraid to stay by her side.
And most importantly, he keeps his word. And to her, who's been let down so many times, and by both of her parents, that is probably number one requirement.
So, yeah, Hyun-jae. You're the best.
If I had to make a list of what I want in a partner, I could just write down "Ddabong."
Till next time,
your Pluto (◠‿◕)
