and this is why it is SO important for deaf kids/teens to be around adults that belong to their community and who they can rely on and look up to!! to witness that you can do and achieve as many things as your average hearing folk is vital and im so glad tmtylm pointed it out 🍀
also i need to point out how the hearing classmate asked the other female student what would she want to hear the most if she had the chance to hear and this is what she told him !!!!! -- thinking that all people who were born deaf dream of hearing is pretty much a hearing people mindset and i am beyond proud she pointed it out so simply 💫

this drama never ceases to amaze me with its deaf representation i am so very happy they are doing such a great job 🫶

oh my god... JINWOO'S FRIEND'S DAUGHTER USES HEARING AIDS !!! -- you guys dont understand the way this made me burst into actual tears
i think it is important and basic to know that lots of deaf folks arent completely deaf but have residual hearing instead which means they can and most likely use devices to help themselves hear better such as hearing aids or cochlear implants among others and having this drama (that is doing a really great job with its deaf representation) acknowledging deaf/hard of hearing people's use of hearing devices is something extremely personal to me 🧏🦻
it is things like this that twinkmelon could have done and yet missed to address and that is why i need everyone and their grandmas to cherish tell me that you love me the way it deserves to be cherished

do you know the plot of the og tmtylm. if so. what are your thoughts and predictions on the korean version’s plot
sadly i do and i wish i didnt 💀 i dont really know why or how it happens but i hope the korean version doesnt follow that line because otherwise i am going to be SO fucking pissed like...
i know for a fact kr versions of certain dramas have changed some parts of the og plot (ex. for the smile has left your eyes /SPOILERS AHEAD/ in the og japanese version, the main leads turn out to be siblings [if im not mistaken] but in the korean version they got rid of that weird shit) so i hope tmtylm writers knew better, did something about it and dont end up ruining the drama for us

I’m loving tmtylm sooo much right now. I thought the pacing would be too slow for me to enjoy it but because it’s mostly character/relationship focused it works really well and I’m so happy it’s not a 12ep drama. as much as I loved twinkmelon it’s a nice contrast to now be following the story of two mature people in somewhat mundane situations. i also love that it tells more about the everyday common reality of being deaf and navigating the world. and the romance . ah. it’s being so subtly woven into their lives but the connection is undeniably there and it’s beautiful to see it grow in this gentle environment. moeun making an effort to get to know him because she enjoys his presence and him being cautious but unable to take more steps back than forward is sooo. they make me feel things
exactly! i loved twinkling watermelon as much as everyone else but the deaf representation of tell me that you love me has been clearly superior from the very beginning (i love seeing jinwoo interact with other deaf folks rather than having him completely isolated as it happened with teen cheongah on twinkmelon)
i have nothing else to say anon because i basically agree with everything you stated 🤝

During the performance, I realized why I felt like I was being comforted even though we couldn’t communicate well. Just like now, every time I say something, you try your best not to miss a single word. You are a good listener. Knowing that you were watching me in the theater, I felt reassured. It was nice.

the way tell me that you love me speaks about deaf people's experiences needs much more praise and i hate that people arent giving this drama the attention it deserves!!
in this scene, they describe in a very simple way how lighting plays a key point for deaf/hoh people,, lip reading is hard enough as it is so when the lighting is bad it gets 10 times more difficult to keep up
however it was this other scene the one that hit close for me
i dont think hearing people really grasp the implications of jinwoo's words here,, i genuinely feel like this many times at some point i just go with it and move on because i feel like im being annoying (which i shouldnt but i cant help it) and if thats me as a hard of hearing person imagine how a deaf folk might feel
[if you ever make a deaf/hoh person feel bad or uncomfortable when they ask you to repeat yourself then you are a big asshole]

jinwoo is such a fresh character and so far an amazing example of proper and good deaf representation in korean media ♡

they are so precious and so dear to me 💕❤️🩹💗
i love it when kdramas portray people loving people in such a human, humble way no matter the barriers they might have to face in order to do so and i will never get tired of it ♡
