even before the wisdom saga and the love in paradise moment, i always thought that odysseus claiming he’d die for penelope and/or telemachus was kind of. yk. far off? not that he wouldn’t die for them, because he would, that just doesn’t mean much coming from him.

idk if i make sense, but what i mean is the threat of dying isn’t so heavy on odysseus as it is on everyone else. he doesn’t edge away from death. especially after thunder bringer, odysseus would welcome death with open arms (i didn’t realize tyat until i typed it i am so, so sorry. not gonna erase it though. it enhances my point.) it’s not something he fears, it’s something he longs for. he wants to let go. he wants to close his eyes and be done with all this. with the suffering and heartache. so saying he’d die for penelope and telemachus is hardly the sentiment it would be for most people.

now, saying he’d live, that’s another topic.

Epic on Stage pt1

so I was thinking if/when Epic the musical becomes an actual musical, specifically for the stage, how would they adapt certain parts, both economically and to show off using the medium to tell their story. I don't know much about theater technology to be honest, so this is purely hypothetical, but it could be done if from what I've seen. There are a lot of amazing animatics from the songs, but the stage is different than something people could draw due to how the songs make them imagine things happening. You need actors and special effects that you don't necessarily have.

I was thinking on stage they could have a piece of cloth in the background as part of the set. Sometimes it just has projections of the set, but it changes when the gods are on stage. Like it just looks like another part of Troy but then you see a monster of a man for Odysseus' vision on the cloth and it becomes Zeus' face as he enforces his will upon Odysseus.

You have whatever the cloth or screen even be something only the gods can effect outside of being a piece of the scenery. They can appear on it or affect it when trying to get a point across.

You could have them projected when they are being godly and larger than life. For example, in "Warrior of the Mind," and her bit at the end of "Remember them" she is portrayed by an actor as she is regal but not angry. Whereas in "My Goodbye" you portray her as mostly as a projection in her godly since she is pissed because she's not his friend/mentor anymore she is the goddess Athena and she is done with him. It also serves to show how detached they are from each other now and the bond they formed when he was just a kid is gone.

For Aeolus in "Keep Your Friends Close," you could have the Actor be quick and energetic moving around Odysseus quickly, maybe on roller skates if they're safe, explaining their challenge. But once the bag is open you see their more godly form on the screen telling Odysseus that he failed and blowing the ships right to Poseidon.

Or they could do the opposite, where they have the gods on the screen for when they are being their divine selves, but have them played by actors when they get more emotional to show that despite their power they are just as flawed as mortals. In "Warrior of the Mind," you have Athena mostly on the screen reminding Odysseus of his purpose because she's supposed to be his larger than life mentor. Then when, "Remember Them" comes in starts, you have the actress in the background until it's her lines to sing. Then she is telling Athena to finish the job as a person on stage to show how their relationship is starting to fray. He is traumatized and not looking to kill while she is disappointed that he didn't finish the job with Polyphemus and it's kind of the last straw with her. Then "My Goodbye" happens and Athena is played by the actress for most of the song because they're both angry and it's better to do that with real people than a projection on the screen. Athena berates him for most of the song, but when he says she's alone, she looks at him in the pause and then starts to walk away as she finishes the song. But the actress is walking off stage and singing her lines, when she gets to the final, "you're just a man," she is off the stage and on the projector as she is joined with the other voices and in her more godly form showing that they are detached now and no longer mentor and student.

It would also show in "Ruthlessness," as you could start the song with Poseidon on the screen, but then have the actor run out in front of Odysseus' actor when things get started. Yes, Poseidon is a powerful god, but during the song you could have his actor toss Odysseus' around the stage like a rag doll to show off the gods power. After Odysseus' nonapology, Poseidon could force Odysseus to look at the screen and they play the damage his is doing to the Ithian fleet, not letting Odysseus look away as punishment. Then when Odysseus opens the bag, the Actor flings themselves backwards and the remember me line is done on the screen with Poseidon's god like form. In "Get in the Water," you portray him as mostly on the screen to show off his power and the threat he presents to Odysseus and Ithaca, but in "Six Hundred Strikes," we see him do battle with Odysseus I think that's what's going to happen but there isn't much to the song yet so I can only assume since it's the climax of the Vengence Saga. I don't know how Odysseus can beat Poseidon, but maybe Athena helps and you could have the gods actors fight with his, but that's a detail for the Jorge not me.

For "God Games," you could have Zeus on the screen, and introduce the other gods as small while Athena is on stage to show off that while she is powerful, she still has to play by Zeus' rules. The other gods are introduced on the screen to show Athena the obstacles she'll have to overcome, but when it gets to their part, they appear on stage to show that they are on the same level. Then when it gets to Zeus' turn as the "final boss" of the song, it's the first time his actor is on the stage as Zeus instead of on the screen to show that Athena survived his trials and gets the honor of facing him one on one of the same level.

I don't know I thought this was a good idea to show off how to use the theater as an aspect of the show as much as the setting. That's the difference between theater and say a tvshow or movie. In a movie you could just have the gods grow with special effects or cgi, but you can't do that with a live performance on a stage. You can make dolls or animatronics of monsters but you can't just cgi them in post and have your actors react to an empty green screen or person in a capture suit in their place.

I also think a balcony could work to an extent, with the gods when they're on the screen to show how they're above mortals and have them on stage when I said they'd be on stage, however I think it would be harder to have them go from high ground to the stage consistently. No matter how short say jumping from a high part of the set to the main stage, consistently jumping and landing is bad for your knees and I wouldn't want to put any of the actors through that. It might be alleviated with wires and harnesses, but I think it's better to not make them jump on and off things regardless.

I don't know if any of this is feasible, I like theater, but I was never a theater kid so I don't know much, but I think this would be a cool idea.

OK the Real question is though. Does EPIC have a really good villain Song? And is there a chance for it to do the unthinkable and surpass my current favorite musical villain Song of like 5 years by now?

Tarn it's Homer's Odyssey as in "guy on a boat can't catch a break from scary monsters and gods being dicks". If we're using the term villain song to refer to antagonist "ooo look at me i'm so evil" type songs well. There's like 5 villain songs and the thing isn't even complete yet (there's 30 out of 40 songs released so far i think? Not sure i only got into it a few days ago)

Out of those I think Ruthlessness, Scylla and Thunder Bringer go extremely hard and have the most bad-guy vibes out of all of them. But that's my own bias tbh (i included Scylla bc i like it lmao she's an extremely minor character. L+ratio+drown in your sorrow and fears+Choke on your blood and your tears+bleed 'til you've run out of years)

Re-examining Hunter’s Moon after Rite Here Rite Now

For quite some time now Terzo’s resurrection and people’s excessive speculation and desperation for it has been a meme. When Hunter’s Moon came out, many interpreted it as being from Papa Emeritus III’s perspective- his warning to Sister Imperator that he would be back, and likely for revenge.

Rite Here Rite Now may have lent this some credence. Or you can consider this a jumble of more desperate speculative nonsense. This is all just for fun.

WARNING for heavy Rite Here Rite Now spoilers‼️

First things first: the major events of Rite Here Rite Now.

Copia, now Brother Imperator, is alive and now the head of the ministry. Sister Imperator has died. Copia has a twin, who may or may not be the “new guy” we see the mitre-wearing silhouette of in the very last shot of the film, cut off just before making his entrance.

Secondly, to get it out of the way- this may NOT be Terzo. This could very well be a whole new character! But here is my observation looking at all this in conjunction with Hunter’s Moon and other recent Ghost tidbits.

First, Hunter’s Moon. People have talked since it first came out about it possibly being from Terzo’s perspective and as a threat that he’s coming back for revenge. But now some of the lyrics resonate a little heavier with the lore.

Specifically the line “to where we’d hide as children” REALLY grabs my attention now. My mind goes back to the shot from behind of the two children running together in RHRN, inferably Copia and whoever the twin is (we are assuming Terzo for the sake of this theory). Again, this could be a character we haven’t been introduced to- but we have no reason to believe Copia’s twin died and the lyrics implies somebody coming back from the dead with the second verse. “It’s been a long time coming” rings especially true for Terzo because now it’s been YEARS since he was killed and even longer since he was dragged offstage. The lyrics about being jaded and not remembering everything could even be about him being dead for so long that it’s effected his memory- maybe he even forgot his own identity and that he even was Papa, hence him coming back as a “new guy”?

I’d also like to bring attention to the bridge. I know not everybody has seen a translation for it.

More lyrics about hiding. Hiding in the cemetery in the verses, death, life, Sister, hiding, and conquering in the bridge. There are people who saw Terzo’s foot twitch in Chapter 3 while he was being embalmed and wondered if he was dead at all. I really believe this was just something for comedic effect but what if he was hiding somehow the whole time?

Even if we push aside all other characters and theories, “your death, my life” specifically ties this song to the lore for me. Sister died so that Copia could go on and rise to a new level in the clergy. But I have also already seen people talking about Sister’s death meaning Terzo coming back to life in the case that he is also her son.

But Hunter’s Moon isn’t the only thing I’m seeing connections to since seeing the movie.

At the end of the film as we see Copia as Brother Imperator for the first time, in his new garb, preparing to welcome New Guy, the first thing he says,

“We seem to have remodeled here.”

They were remodeling in the Escape the Ministry game.

ETM gives us the tidbit that the statues introduced in the renovation are believed by some (in-world) to be a kind of conduit you can use to summon a Papa’s spirit to the mortal plane (and we know that Nihil’s spirit can posess his body, albeit temporarily ). While the statues of Primo, Secondo, and Nihil have notes that talk about what music they like or enjoying watching tv, Terzo’s specifies of all things that there was no autopsy on his body.

Also worth mentioning; there is still an empty pedestal meant for a statue (is Sister getting one?)

And in the room behind Terzo’s statue, is a bunch of nooses. Each room has something to do with one of the songs on the Phantomime EP, this one being Hanging Around, but this note was also in there any wasn’t really used in any of the puzzles in the game.

Primo’s note does specify that they were “forced into retirement from life” by Sister, Nihil, and The Clergy. Sounds like a revenge list to me!

(I also cannot help but point out that in the shot of Copia mentioning the remodel, there is vibrant purple lighting behind him like in Terzo’s chasuble.)

There’s also the gag with Copia being surrounded by Ghosts and talking to them but the janitor comes down the hall and cannot hear or see them. Is being able to sense the ghosts an Emeritus thing? Something higher members of the clergy, maybe with higher powers can do? Can ghosts control who can see or hear them? If the other three Papas do have ghosts, this could be why we haven’t seen them at all- they view most of the people in the ministry as their traitors and murderers. So maybe they really ARE hiding somewhere.

One last thing I will bring up, and this is PURELY rumor, but I did hear that there was chatter at Download about a possible fall tour from Ghost.

The Hunter’s Moon this year will be Thursday, October 17th.

Of course this is all just for fun and it may not mean anything at the end of the day! The ghovie and its sudden end left us all with a lot of excitement for more so my mind has been running ever since I saw it. There is definitely stuff that is becoming more tangibly tied to the actual plot of Ghost in my opinion.

ETM ACT 1 RANTS

So, I thought, since ACT 1 of ETM is now officially done,,, why not talk abt it? Y'know, for fun? Cause I have some thoughts😇 Let's begin, shall we?

MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

TROY SAGA

I have a love/hate relationship with 'The Horse and The Infant' tbh, like YEAHHH NEO AVENGE THE HELL OUTTA ACHILLES!!! But also oh Jeez, Zeus wtf man. Also when I replayed the whole ACT I was really scared that it was playing 'Monster', since they start with the same opening😭😭 (And yes it was on shuffle)

I FUCKING LOVE THE VOCALS IN 'JUST A MAN' Like oh meh Gods who possessed Jorge to sing like that, holy moly (hehehe refference). But yeah, very heartbreaking song, especially when that "when does a man become a monster?" part hits. AND THE "FORGIVE ME"S😭😭

In 'Full Speed Ahead' I love how Ody says "Polites!" cuz like THAT'S HIS BESTIE!!! YAYYY :D Also, I saw a tiktok that was depicting the last part (when Ody tells Polites to get ready cuz they're going over to that island, and Eury is like we don't know what to expect) as the trio with the 'Pessimistic Realist'(Eury), the 'Realist who doubles as a Sunshine Protector'(Ody) and, ofc, the 'Sunshine'(Polites) ((And Ody lowkey becomes a mass murderer when Polites gets hurt))

I swear 'Open Arms' will forever be my fav song on this Saga, I just LOVE how Polites is like a supportive bsf to Ody and is trying to get him to approach the world differently. The Lotus Eaters were probably so happy to get them to face Polyphemus so that they won't have to worry abt him

I hate & love at the same time how Ody shows one act of kindness and Athena's like "🤨📸 Are you slacking off work??? Nahhh, not on my watch." But also the hopeful "Goddess and man, bestest of friends!" and then the broken "Okay :')" break me everytime cuz like Ody really just wants to get close(platonically) to Athena😭😭

THE CYCLOPS SAGA

I hate how Polites is like "I can't believe there's so many sheep here, just for us! :D" like buddy, do NOT believe it😭 Also I believe in the headcannon that Polyphemus was really about to let them go before Ody hit him with the "Eye to Eye" verse

Didn't realise that in the opening of 'Survive', the ensemble sings the sylables of "POLYPHEMUS" before a video pointed it out (I believe the name was 'Epic: The Musical but only when someone's name is said' and it had the opening of 'Survive'). Also can we just agree that the broken "captain" in 'Survive' and the several "CAPTAIN!"s in 'Ruthlessness' are gonna haunt Ody forever😭🙏

I truly believe that in 'Remember Them', Ody was really about to just leave before Athena showed up and he decided to reveal his name, home address, and social security number to one of his enemies🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ But can you blame him tho?? Like I find it pretty reasonable to let your defeated enemy know who they messed it, so that they won't fuck with you or anyone you hold close again.

Even before 'My Goodbye', when Athena said "don't dissapoint me" in 'Warrior of the Mind' I was like "Then don't be dissapointed! How 'bout that???" (As you can tell I'm fed up at Athena's reasoning for leaving Ody. And then she has the AUDACITY to call Telemachus her friend and then disregard viewing Ody the same way🤨📸)

THE OCEAN SAGA

I relistened to 'Storm' during a school roadtrip, when it was raining heavily, and LITERALLY AFTER the song was done, the rain stopped😨😨 Also love the addition of trumpets to show that it was Poseidon who started the storm(cuz trumpets are his signature instrument if I remember correctly)

I feel like 'Luck Runs Out' is heavily skipped troughout the musical, but it's a really cool song that just radiates "Odysseus No. Odysseus YES" energy

'Keep Your Friends Close' is my fav song in this Saga bc I really love whoever sings Aeolus' role😍😍 Also the "Everything changed since Polites" line made me audibly and visually scream😭 Like okay, BOLD😤😤

I will always laugh at the "ALL I GOTTA DO IS OPEN THIS BAG" "WHAT" part😂😂 Like he just lost 557 men and he just BOLTS IMMEDIATELY. And I was really confused when Poseidon said "I mean you totally could've avoided all this, had you just killed my son", cuz like, wasn't it in the prophecy that ody was meant to blind Polyphemus, not kill him?? (This is not meant to show hate to this specific part, only to show hate to Poseidon, bc he gave PTSD to my fav boy and was wrong at the same time😤)

THE CIRCE SAGA

I immediately started crying at the start bc the opening instrumental sounds like the "Watch where the birds fly, they will lead us to land. There we'll hunt for food, my second-in-command" in 'Full Speed Ahead' and it really shows that now there's just the two of them, Ody and Eury, 'cause they lost Polites(whom I'm still mourning). Also the "What" and the "Damn" Ody says during Eury's explaination are giving me life😭🙏

I saw in an animatic of 'Wouldn't You Like' by Ximena Natzel on YT that at the last chorus Hermes was just throwing Ody around in the air and I feel like the "Oh-woah"s Ody sings are him going along with whatever Hermes is doing and he's enjoying himself🥺 (But not for long)

I have no idea what to say for 'Done For' other than I think it took over the entire fandom when it released on Feb 14th. I love how Circe immediately knows that Hermes gave Ody the Molly flower and Ody's like "Alr ya caught me, but hey, Imma still defeat you"

I also don't know what to say about "There Are Other Ways" other than the "Or maybe the world will need a puppeteer more!" part is making me question my sexuality😳 (ofc I won't steal Talya from Jay but I'm just saying). Oh also the "12 long years" part definitely took over the fandom at that point😭

THE UNDERWORLD SAGA

I made the BIGGEST mistake of listening to this Saga on a school roadtrip (the same one I was on when relistening to 'Storm') and almost CRIED MY HEART OUT when I heard both Polites and Anticlea's parts😭😭 there's also a sound on TT where it first shows Polites' part in 'Open Arms' and then in 'The Underworld' and I'm crying so hard😭😭😭😭

I love Mason's voice when playing Tiresias so much ong. Also: "Who?" Odysseus asked calmly. LIKE FOOL IT'S YOU!!!!

I love the song 'Monster' so much, mainly for the fact that Ody's asking himself if the other beings they encountered along the way feel as guilty as he does. I also feel like Astyanax is just vibing to the song and Hector's like "That's literally the guy who killed you???" And he's like "Womp womp. This song's fire!!" (Cringe, Ik, but you can't stop me)

On a last note: JORGE WHEN I CATCH YOU JORGE- /j

Fyodor'un yeteneğinin adının suç ve ceza olması, Dead Apple'da "Ben suçum" ve "Ben cezayım" demesi (Hatalı olabilirim eski bölümleri ve filmi izlememin üzerinden çok vakit geçti.) yeteneğinin iki yönlü olduğu anlamına geliyor olabilir. Suç: dokunduğu kişiyi öldürme, ceza: onu öldüren kişinin bedenini ele geçirerek hayatına devam etme ya da tam tersi diye olabilir düşünüyorum. "Sadece orta çağ işte. Abartılacak ne var anlamıyorum." diyerek girdiğim Berserk'e şu an çıldırıyorum. Daha bir finale sahip olmamasına rağmen o kadar tatmin edici ki... Kentaro Miura, yazdığı ve çizdiği her nokta ile saygımı kazandı. Hadi Berserk'i neden bu kadar övdüğümü anlatayım.

Okuyan herkesin anlayacağı üzere hikâye üç kişi arasında oluşturulmuş kompleks bir bağ üzerinden ilerliyor. Başta kurulan bu bağ eclipse (tutulma) sırasında sarsıntılı bir değişiklik geçiriyor. Söylemeliyim ki tutulma olayı beni benden almıştı. Çünkü güvendiğiniz bütün her şey gidiyor. Uzun bir süre geçirip empati kurduğunuz kişilerin hızlıca yok olduğunu görmek, Guts ile okuyucu arasında kurulan bağı güçlendiriyor ve kalıcı kılıyor.

Tabii ki tutulma daha yaşanmadan önce konuşulması gereken bir sürü olay var. Öncelikle Guts'ın hikâye boyunca amacının değişmesi doğallık kattığı gibi karakter gelişimi için de önemli adımlar atıyor. Guts karşımıza 3 şekilde çıkıyor: Ordu genarali, dostuna layık olmaya çalışan bir adam ve intikamcı. Bu geçişler o kadar hızlı ve şaşırtıcı ki ilk okuduğumda "Bu ne şimdi? Sadece bu olayların anlatıldığı 1000 bölümlük mangalar var ve bu olay hızlıca değişiyor mu?" demiştim.

Guts'ın bu karakteristik evrelerinin hepsini kapsayan bir evre daha var aslında: Canavar evresi. İlk bölümlerde, düşman general ile teke tek mücadele sırasında hayatını riske edip avantaj yakalaması ve galip gelmesi ile başlıyor bu evre. Özellikle yaratıklar ile olan savaşında ise bu durum iyice göze parmak oluyor.

Hikâye boyunca yaratıklar başka bir dünyadan gelse de çok insancıl istekleri oluyor. Bunlar cinsel tatmin, hayatta kalma veya otorite isteği gibi şeyler olabiliyor. Bütün bu yaratıkların aksine Guts sadece savaşıyor ve hayatını riske etme konusunda hiç çekinmiyor.

Berserk bize yaratıklara karşı olan mücadeleyi anlatıyormuş gibi gözükse de en büyük canavarı ana karakter bellemiş durumda. Guts, mangadaki bütün canavarlardan daha canavar. Yan karakterler de bu durumu dile getirmekten çekinmiyorlar.

Son olarak: Bu eser gerçekten herkese göre değil. Bunun sebebi de her şeyin gerçek olması. Fantastik bir dünyada, gerçek hisleri çok iyi ve doğru veriyor. Berserk: Gerçek ve dehşet bi' dünya.

Bu korkutucu yakuza kılıklı adam tepesine çökünce Ae-Jung durumu kurtarmak için ünlü bir yazarın kitabını senaryolaştıracağını ve buradan gelen para ile borcunu kapatacağını söyler. Enteresan bir tesadüf ile de Ae-Jung’un kızı ile mafyatik Pa-Do’nun oğlu aynı sınıftadırlar. Veli toplantısında ortaya çıkar ki ikili çok yakın arkadaş olmuşlardır. Oğlu zorbalığa uğrarken kız onu korumuştur. Mafyanın oğluna da zorbalık yapılması bir tık manasız gelmedi değil. Neyse..

Bir şekilde çekilmesi istenen kitaba karar verilir. “Aşk yok” adlı kitap için yazarı Oh Dae-O(Son Ho-Jun) ile iletişime geçilir. Dae-O bu kitabı üniversitede neden bittiğini bilmediği ilişkisi üzerine yazmıştır. O zamanlar çok yakın arkadaşı olan Ryu Jin(Song Jong-Ho) ise ünlü bir oyuncudur. Yıldızı parlak, önü açıktır. Ve efendime söyleyeyim; yazar bey yapımcımızın eski sevgilidir. Üç arkadaş bu ayrılıktan sonra hiç görüşmemişler. Yaşanan bu mafyatik olaylardan sonra mecburen yazarı ikna etmesi gerekir. Ve bunun çözümünü de neden ayrıldıklarını söyleyeceğine söz vermekte bulur.

No Ha-Nee(Um Chae-Young),  Ae-Jung’un kızıdır. Galiba ortaokul ayarında bir yaştaydı. Okula kızını almaya geldiği bir gün sınıf öğretmeni ile tanışır. Birde bakarlar ki öğretmen Oh Yeon-Woo(Koo Ja-Sung)’da aynı üniversiteden ama bir alt sınıftan çıkmasın mı? Annesi ile öğretmeninin isminin yazılı olduğu bir defter bulan Ha-Nee’de bu durumdan şüphelenmeye başlayınca “benim babam kim” sorusunu kazık kadar olduktan sonra sormak aklına geliyor.

Ve sonrası… mafyatik adam, yazar, öğretmen ve oyuncu potansiyel baba adayı oluyorlar. Dizide üç farklı hikaye ilerliyor. Biri Ha-Nee’nin babasının hangi adam olduğunu bulma planları. İkincisi erkeklerin Ae-Jung’u elde etme çabaları. Üçüncüsü ise, Ae-Jung’un kitabı filme çekmeye çalışmasıydı. Ve bonus hikaye de geçmiş ilişkileri neydi sorusu diyebiliriz.

Kısaca özetlersek dizi bu kadar. Couple on The backtrack dizisinde sevemediğim Son Ho-Jun’ı burada sevdim. Song Ji-Hyo ise ilk kez izlediğim bir isim oldu. Hwang Jung-Eum’a çok benzettim. Sanki Jung-Eum bağırmayınca Ji-Hyo’a dönüşüyormuş gibiydi benim gözümde.

İzlenebilir, izlenmese de olur bir diziydi.
