MOVIE SHADOW X READER HEADCANONS

Just finished watching Sonic 3 and it was awesome!! Haven’t seen anyone written for movie Shadow yet sooo.. 👀

Warnings?: No spoilers for the movie in this! But maybe him being out of character, I haven’t wrote anything in years lol

- I feel like his love languages would be quality time and physical touch, he wouldn’t be used to touch at first but would gradually warm up to it. Definitely wouldn’t be the type to be over the top with public affection. Maybe handholding or a hand on your waist in public, but that’s probably it

- Might would be one to get jealous, needs reassurance that you’re not leaving and that you love him, truly. He’s been through a lot and needs to know that you’re not leaving him too

- Likes looking at the stars with you!! Reminds me of that one meme

- Likes to watch moves with you too! Just please don’t have him watch movies that have ‘aliens’ that are considered bad guys in it :( Just watch cat videos on YouTube with him, he’d be content with that

- I feel like he’d like the game Stray, cause cats!! I feel like he absolutely loves cats. Would also probably like Stardew Valley, Harvest Moon and Animal Crossing. Anything that’s a calm game where you can just do whatever

- Speaking of cats.. he’d love going to a cat cafe with his s/o, would probably want to take them all home afterwards though

- Would end up having a black cat come up to him, rubbing against him and purring. He’d just pick up the cat and ask

“..can we take him home?”

- You can’t say no to Shadow, especially when he’s holding a cat in his hands.. so needless to say, you guys have a new pet now

- But besides cafe dates, just staying at home and cuddling would be perfectly fine with him as a date, anywhere with you, he’s happy

- I feel like he’d genuinely be a really good boyfriend, just takes him time to warm up a bit and get more comfortable with romantic stuff

- And motorcycle rides!! They’d be so fun, but if you get scared if he ever goes too fast, just ask for him to slow down or go a normal speed, he’d probably listen (cause it’s you)

- Gets all blushy and flustered when it comes to physical affection and kisses, he’s not used to it but he loves it

- He’d also like music, specifically older songs. Likes to put vinyls on a record player and dance with you to the song :’)) even if you don’t know how to dance, he’ll try and guide you

I think they're both a bit nerdy about space ✨ especially in their early days, when they got to check out library books about it and read them cover-to-cover so they could point to each constellation that night. It was probably an activity they really enjoyed.

Sketch dump! Vol. 5

September 2022 (Part 1/2)

The first piece on top summarised my cosplay rush for Tracon 2022! The second is an old idea for a charm.

"SURPRISE!!"

Back in 2022 I hosted an art raffle for reaching 777 followers on Twitter! The winner would get their submas themed idea realised (which was their friends throwing a surprise party for the twins!). I wanted to make a little comic and have the bosses walk in their office where depot agents, Elesa, Drayden, Skyla, Clay etc. would be waiting with decorations and treats and games.

Emmet is all smiles of course while Ingo gets so emotional he could only whisper a "super bravo".

Not really headcanons anymore but still funny ideas.

1. Emmet gets clumsy when off-rhythm! He starts walking in curves if there is nobody else around to match his rhythm with.

2. Emmet spaces out/forgets to say things aloud when someone speaks too long or when things go off-script! His thinking gets interrupted easily.

3. Ingo sometimes bumps into doors because he is too used to automatic doors!

4. When things go off-script Ingo speaks too much and rushes in straight lines"

Also my little inexpensive sketchbook & my trusty tools! Mechanical pencil and eraser pen are life when scribbling my skrimblos smaller than a postage stamp!

More Ingo~ I utilise a wide range of sources for references, including CSP's poseable 3D models, they can come really handy with perspectives and proportions!

The second piece is my very first attempt at cosplay in Tracon 2022: Blingo! I walked in with a sequin hat, leather jacket, leather pants and high heel patent leather boots.

The hardest part of cosplaying Ingo is remembering NOT to smile ahaha!

I drew these for a huge submas art collaboration over Twitter hosted by @/mimizukeii!! It was technically my first art collab before I started arranging them myself with Aggie/Magma.

While looking for train related songs I found this cute nursery rhyme to go with the marching:

I wanted to compare these silly twins, planning to do something more silly with them later. Also a sketch of @/fukurow's butler designs I never finished.. The capes compliment them so well, I love them!!

Prequel to this piece! Emmet is so confident in himself he thinks Pierce wants to learn from him but is invited for a duet on the stage instead!!

Emmet has really great voice actors in Pokemas! I especially love how his english VA gives him that bri'ish/posh/sophisticated vibe while also soft and melodic! I know for SURE this VA/Emmet can sing, I can show you later!

One of my favourite sketches!! I wanted to add a bunch of characters in the BG reacting to this sonic blast of emotion over a performance!

Heyyy it's the smile buddies comic!! I really hope Ingo gets to interact with Marnie in Pokemas one day!!

I feel Ingo's eyes in the mirror panel is a little off in the final comic, I meant to keep it softer like in the sketch!

It's Nimbasa trio!! Idea inspired by submas EX uniform colors. Might continue this later!

Some BG tests for this piece! Compositing is hard but absolutely worth the effort, it can make a huge difference in the appeal of your piece!!

Sketch for this arguing scene! Something REALLY BAD needs to happen for them to end up that tense! Even if I want to present them close to the canon material I still want to put them in really challenging situations to see how far I can push their emotions!

so i don't know if this is a post i'm gonna keep up cause, like i said, i don't really like talking candidly about aspects of my personal identity often these days, and lord knows i especially hate talking about legal identity and all the dissonance that entails. but this week was a pretty big one for me and i can't shake the desire to share my enthusiasm for even just a fleeting moment.

my name has been a sticking point in my mind for a long time. i've adopted many different ones. first, middle, last, you name it. i've been searching most of my life for a moniker that represented my true self socially, and a surname to distance myself from someone in my life who hurt me very badly and never really learned how to stop.

obviously for a long time now I've been Penny Parker to 98% of people who know me, and for the past couple that number has been bumped up to a solid 99% with a few stragglers. it's a name that is so mundane and assumed at this point that tbh I've even come to resent certain aspects of it. which to me is actually beautiful. i find that mundanity, that nuance, extremely telling of how it encapsulates my life. it's a fully three-dimensional reflection, smudges and sparkles and everything in between.

of course, i only just moved out on my own 3 years ago. and unfortunately that had to be the starting point to make this social and personal progress i've been sitting on for half a decade at least now official, tangible, legal. i've been playing a game of catch-up i didn't sign up for, but it's one that does have a silver lining in that i feel more in resonance with who i am and who i want to be than i ever did before being granted this independence.

and as of this week, i have the pleasure of entering an era of my life where the dissonance between who i am in speech and who i am in contract is nonexistent. my name is Penny Olivia Parker. i'm the same as i've always been, but getting better every day at it. soon i'll even have a license to match!

sometimes more of an Olivia Parker in brief moments nowadays tbh but i haven't worked out the details yet. nothin you need to stress over, ill take care of it. the full set is just fine and legally recognized, which is all i've wanted for as long as i can remember.

this isn't the end of my journey, both excitingly and unfortunately haha, but this is yet another huge milestone for me and in certain respects it's one of the biggest i've managed. i'm so happy to still be here. if you're reading this, thank you for being here too.

also those of you who watched my direct reactions the other day might have a little more insight as to why i was so emotional that the day after a judge signed my legal name change a new game by the Sonic Mania devs was announced called "Penny's Big Breakaway" LOL, it was a lot to handle for me but i wasn't sure how much i wanted to say just yet.

Fearless: Year of Shadow (Happy New Year 2025!)

So, Fearless: Year of Shadow, the year of fearlessness, confidence, innovation, has finally come to an end... or has it?

Before I elaborate, I want to say that I absolutely enjoyed everything this year had to offer in terms of entertainment, ranging from various merch, to video games like Sonic X Shadow Generations, to videos like the TailsTube episode ''Between Two Hedgehogs'' and the Sonic X Shadow: Dark Beginnings episodes, to comics and manga like The Jet Black Hedgehog: Shadow the Hedgehog, to the Sonic X Shadow Takeover, to the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 movie, which also served as the grand finale to this amazing year.

Oh, and the Sonadow stuff - we can't forget that, can we?

Honestly, it's hard to put into words just how much I absolutely loved this year and the content we've gotten, and that I feel a bit sad that it's slowly coming to an end. Nevertheless, I made a lot of awesome memories and that's the most important thing.

Still, even if 2024 has come to an end, I don't believe that Year of Shadow is going to end with it, especially since we're not done yet with everything that has been announced for the celebration.

To remind you, Year of Shadow was officially announced on April 9th, so technically we still have three months left. (¬‿¬ )

But, if you don't care about the calendar, I would like to point out that we still have more Year of Shadow content waiting for us in 2025.

For starters, there is the DC X Sonic the Hedgehog collaboration written by Ian Flynn, coming March 2025. I know that it's not explicitly Shadow-centered content, but it was announced this year and Shadow is one of the featured characters.

Then, there is the still ongoing The Jet Black Hedgehog: Shadow the Hedgehog manga, written by Yuki Imada in promotion of Sonic X Shadow Generations. It is currently at 4 Chapters, with Chapter 5 coming out in January 2025.

Next, we have the recently announced IDW Sonic one-shot comic starring Shadow the Hedgehog, titled Sonic the Hedgehog: Chasing Shadows and coming out March 26th 2025.

While it wasn't part of Year of Shadow, we also had the announcement of the game Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, with the teaser featuring Shadow.

Lastly, I'm fairly certain that people will still be going to the cinemas to watch Sonic the Hedgehog 3 in January, considering how it's a masterpiece of a movie.

Rest assured, I'm looking forward to what the next year is going to bring us!

Okay, so I'm still kinda organizing my thoughts regarding everything in the movie, but there was one scene I wanted to talk about.

Sonic 3 spoilers below the cut

So, after Shadow cleaned Tom's clock, and he was being wheeled into the ambulance, Maddie was following right next to him, obviously looking worried. But then she looked back at the boys.

When she climbed into the back of the ambulance, she looked at them again.

Her expression was so unreadable.

She didn't offer any encouraging words. Didn't tell them to kick Shadow's butt for what he did. Didn't tell them to be careful, or to take care of each other.

She just looked at them.

Was she thinking that they were more trouble than they were worth? Was she thinking Tom was hurt because of them? That none of this would have happened if they hadn't come into hers and Tom's lives?

This wasn't all fun and games. Her husband was severely injured, and it had all been because they'd taken in and helped these aliens.

She likely didn't know how to feel in that moment. She loved her husband, and was worried for him. But he wouldn't be in this situation if not for those three boys.

What were the boys thinking when she simply looked at them like that?

Sonic was dealing with a helluva lot of guilt, obviously. He'd already put them in danger twice before. And now Tom, the first person he'd ever spoken to and bonded with after Longclaw, was hurt. Badly. Because he wasn't fast enough, he couldn't keep him safe.

Tails was likely scared. Tom and Maddie had opened their home to him. Accepted him. And now Tom was hurt. Sonic was hurting. So he did what he always does--he tries to make Sonic feel better.

Knuckles stepped up to become the mature one, his stance and tone changed from earlier in the film. He stepped between Tails and Sonic, protecting his youngest brother, and trying to reason with Sonic about his feelings. And when the two looked ready to rumble, he's the one who backed off. He relinquished the Master Emerald, because he trusted Sonic to make the right choice when push came to shove.

That whole scene was so good, and Tika was so perfect in her non-expressive moment. I felt that was a very powerful moment, especially as the ambulance left the boys just standing there, looking lost, alone, and upset.

First Contact

A few weeks have passed since Sonic saved Tails in the Westside Town Alleyway, the kit is still skittish to touch or being a burden. One night when they were camping out of the van and sleeping under the stars. It was a warm night. Sonic managed to get Tails to fall asleep and was relaxing in the quiet for a moment (He discovered very quickly that his new buddy could be quite the yapper. Not that he minded, he liked to listen and the kids ramblings was one of the few times he truly relaxes without worrying about hurting something by accident). Arms behind his head, nestled in his quills, careful as to not accidentally poke himself, as he leaned up against a small rock and became surrounded with the sounds of natures song. Listening to the lulling rustles of the trees, he was lightly startled when something pressed against his chest, right over his heart. When he looked down, he saw Tails' paw. He must have accidentally moved it there while he was asleep. A glance at the kits face showed his muzzle scrunched up. A nightmare? Who knows. The hedgehog untangles one of his paws from his quills and rests it on the foxes paw, making gentle circles with his thumb on the brown baby fur. He would have tried to do relaxing gestures on his face and ears to try calming him down, but that usually led to the small speedster getting a new scratch or bite mark followed by a wave of apologies. After a moment of the gentle circles on the kits hand, his face seems to relax and a strange rumble comes out of him. It takes Sonic a moment to realize that's Tails' purr, he's relaxed. A sigh comes out as the hedgehog too relaxes further into the rock, okay. That's a good sign. So he's not doing a horrible job at this... tag along thing? taking him under his wing? whatever it's called. He didn't really care about labels. Sonic decides it'd probably be a good idea to follow his new friends' footsteps and go to sleep himself. It finally happened, they made contact without anyone being hurt in the process, if only the kit wasn't asleep at the moment to realize this while Sonic was making victory laps in his head.

Since Tails is bigger than Sonic in this au (even at 3 1/2)- so he can't listen to his heartbeat necessarily by just resting his head on his chest and hearing it. So he does the second best option, resting his paw there to feel it.

Neither knew about it at the time, but children (especially really young children) will listen to their parents heartbeat to relax. So whenever Tails is scared or having a nightmare (or they're just relaxing and taking a nap), he'll rest his paw on Sonic's chest to feel his heartbeat. (Sonic's pretty chill with it because hey, it calms the kid down, that's good.) But at first whenever he instinctively did that, he'd panic a bit and try to pull back because he worries he might hurt Sonic still. After a few times of it happening (and Tails being very confused), they eventually just kinda let it happen and the kit didn't pull away anymore.

This was the first sign that Tails views Sonic as his dad, and neither of them understood.

Guys, I want to express my opinion. You don't have to read it if you're not interested. I, like many, am waiting for the appearance of Amy and Rouge, I really wait and want to! But I was struck by the craziness of some fans. Who knows, he understands what I mean. Knuckles is confused with Amy (in one shot from the first trailer for Sonic movie 3) because of the lighting, which makes Knuckles' hairstyle lighter and screams about it on every corner. They think that Amy was cut out of some of the footage of the first trailer because... Sometimes they look empty, as if there is room for another character... What the fuck? I don't understand, should the whole screen be packed with characters in every corner? Even an ordinary dent on the asphalt is confused with a shadow (I'm not about the Shadow the hedgehog)!🤦‍♀️ Fuck... There are simply zero arguments. It sounds much more realistic that, for example, the same Amy may appear in the scene after the credits. But these are just rumors. Before the release of the second trailer, I realized that some fans had gone crazy... And after the release of the second trailer, I was convinced that I was right, so you don't have to argue with me. It's useless. In addition, before the release of the second trailer, there were leaks of toys for the third film and NOT A SINGLE HINT OF AMY OR ANYONE ELSE. There were only Sonic, Knuckles, Tails, Eggman and Shadow. Guys, if there was anyone else in the movie, this character would be in the toy set. Recently, new toys were leaked and there is also no one new except Shadow, because no one else appeared in the film.

Okay, I also thought that Amy and Rouge would appear, because the third film is an adaptation of the game SA2: Rouge, who worked for G.U.N. and Amy, who dissuaded Shadow from killing humanity. And I remember the girl I was arguing with, using it as an argument. To which I will answer that, guys, these films are A NEW, ALTERNATIVE UNIVERSE, therefore A MODIFIED CANON. And that's okay, it's a NEW UNIVERSE. Do you want to see the same thing? Well, if you're an ardent and old fan, then of course you want to see the same thing. But I'm not. Let's be honest, almost anyone can dissuade Shadow: Sonic or Tom, for example. And Amy will get her new role in fourth film. What's wrong? As for me, everything is fine. This is a new universe! It was clear from the first film)))

Oh, and do you remember the girl I mentioned in the second paragraph? Attention! She told me that the creators would be sexist if they didn't add Amy or Rouge fully to the third film🤡 I'm afraid of people like that...💀 What kind of moronic fashion is it to call everyone (especially men) sexists for no reason? Just to be offended🤦‍♀️ This abomination is infuriating🤮 I wish this disease would go away as soon as possible... If you don't agree with me, then just accept it. Poor creators, my God... They're already trying to please the fans, but they're still bad... Guys, the creators have THEIR OWN plans for THEIR MODIFIED canon. Let's think logically, if there are few new characters in the film, then MORE attention will be paid to them, therefore MORE disclosure and therefore the character is MORE INTERESTING, and not just a stupid fanservice...

И это нормально, это же НОВАЯ ВСЕЛЕННАЯ. Вы хотите видеть одно и то же? Ну, если вы ярый и старый фанат, то, конечно, вы хотите видеть одно и то же. А я нет. Будем честны, Шедоу может отговорить почти кто угодно: Соник или Том, например. А Эми получит свою, новую роль в 4-части. Что вас не устраивает? Как по мне, всё нормально. Это новая вселенная! По первому фильму это было понятно)))

А, и помните девку, которую я упоминала во втором абзаце? Внимание! If you want him to know something, you are GOING to have to tell him flat out. No beating around the bush, no chickening out last second.

Now, that’s not to say that he’s stupid by ANY means, but you must admit that our favorite emerald guarding red head is a bit dense, especially when it comes to other people.

(I mean, he’s spent a large portion of his life on his own, so I’m sure you can imagine how that would affect his social skills)

On that note, Knuckles is NOTICEABLY softer around you. . . So much so that his friends are starting to wonder if he’s been possessed

(Sonic HAS staged an intervention for Knuckles due to his uncharacteristic gentleness with you. Knuckles has never been so flattered and frustrated in his life.)

Although he DOES make an ATTEMPT to be gentler with you, there ARE times when his temper gets the better of him. As previously stated, Knuckles doesn’t DO subtle, and he may snap at you when he feels frustrated.

The sky above the city churned violently, dark clouds swirling as rain lashed against the streets below. Thunder boomed in the distance, shaking the windows of the few standing buildings, while purple lightning split the heavens with terrifying force. Chaos reigned in every corner of the city, and in the center of it all stood a figure—cold, unmoved by the destruction that unfolded around her.

You stood on top of the tallest building, the storm your perfect companion as you watched the streets below. Your hair billowed in the wind, the tips glowing faintly as they lightened in color. Your eyes scanned the city as if searching for something—or someone.

“Inactivity serves no purpose whatsoever,” you muttered to yourself, your voice calm despite the chaos. You weren’t here to cause destruction for its own sake, after all. “Maria is dead!” Yourr voice cut through the air like a blade, and the entire domain around them shuddered. “I was meant to keep the ARK safe, just as you were. But Professor Gerald never allowed it. I was left to watch from behind glass as you, the favored creation, failed everybody.”

The weight of your words hung in the air, heavy with grief and fury. For so long, you had been nothing but a failed experiment, a project abandoned after the one you were meant to protect was taken from you. And now, in your eyes, the world had to pay for that failure.

Shadow stepped forward, undeterred by the crackling energy that surrounded her. “I didn't fail her. I understand your anger. I understand the loss. But this… this isn’t what Maria would have wanted.”

Your eyes flashed, your hand raising as a bolt of lightning struck the ground between them. The force sent the others reeling, but Shadow stood firm. “I didn't even know Maria as well as you did.,” you hissed, your voice low and dangerous. “You were given the chance to be with her. I was left to rot in that glass prison.”

“I’m not the one you’re angry at,” Shadow said, his voice softening. “It’s not me. It’s not this world. It’s the people who kept us apart. You’re lashing out because you’ve been hurt, but you don’t have to keep doing this.”

Your expression faltered, just for a moment, before the steel returned to your eyes. “It’s too late for that. There’s nothing left for me now. Nothing except this… this power, and the destruction it brings.”

But as you spoke, there was a flicker of doubt in your gaze. Shadow knew that beneath the fury, the pain still lingered. He took a step closer, his voice low. “You don’t have to be alone anymore. I couldn’t save Maria. But maybe I can save you.”

I desperately need a scene in sonic 3 where Maddie and Tom are discussing how Sonic and knuckles have struggled a bit to adjust to earth life (especially knuckles) and Tom is like “at least Tails adjusted fairly quickly” and Maddie just gives him a deadpan stare and says “Tom last week we found out that Tails has been building weapons and a BOMB in our garage!” And Tom’s like “ehhhh yeah true BUT after we told him that he can’t do that without permission he hasn’t built anymore!” And then the scene ends with Sonic showing up or whatever.

I just absolutely adore the moments where Tails does some crazy shit and then other people are like “oh he’s a lil fucked up ain’t he” and it’s like YEAH he is and I love him and want him to be his full crazy self. He’s banned from the casino for counting cards, he swindled a guy during a game of billiards, he broke Sonic out of prison, he had a WANTED poster, he uses bombs on the reg in his games, in IDW HE CRASHED A SHIP INTO NEO METAL SONIC AND DIDNT EVEN INFORM ANYONE ELSE HE WAS GOING TO DO THAT?!!?!?

Tails will pull reckless unhinged shit at the most random times and i desperately need that energy back. To be clear it’s not 24/7, but that’s what makes it so funny. What sucks about the Sonic franchise is that people only seem to like it when the franchise isn't being itself

Sonic Colors is liked by non Sonic Fans because it's kiddy and lighthearted and not dark and edgy like the 2000s games, which is considered cringe to them and the only time people "like" the 2000s games is when they're talking about those obnoxious Snapcube dubs which they's been spamming for 4 years now

New Fans also praise the current voice cast, which sucks because a majority them don't fit the characters

New Fans also praise how Ian Flynn writes the characters, which also sucks because Flynn's version of the characters don't act like the actual Sonic Characters, (Sonic considering himself as a hero, Tails being Jimmy Neutron, Amy chooses to keep her feelings for Sonic secret and having Tarot Cards be her whole personality, Shadow being an edgy dick, etc) but the New Fans keep insisting that the new versions are better

Majority of the characters are teens (For some reason people think every Sonic character is a grown adult, even characters like Charmy and Tails)

Also a lot of people seem to forget that the franchise was niche/hated during the 2010s, people didn't give a flying fuck about Sonic and even if they did, they brought it up just to shit on it, it was especially worse when Forces and the Ugly Sonic design came out, everything about Sonic in the 2010s was mocking it, nonstop memes and people saying the franchise only works in 2D (What's worse is that Sonic Mania indirectly proved them right)/was never good, etc

Sonic hate is a lot less common nowadays due to the movies, (mocking Sonic 06 is still brought up to this day tho), however i feel like most of it is people pretending to like Sonic, majority of Sonic praise nowadays comes from the Movies or Frontiers's vocal tracks (because of Kellen Quinn), it also goes back to my previous point with people liking the mischaracterised versions of the characters better

The big two Sonic content coming out this year are Sonic x Shadow Generations and Sonic Movie 3, which has a lot of people hyped because of Shadow the Hedgehog, but it also goes back to my previous point of people pretending to like Sonic, Shadow was heavily disliked by critics and the general audience for being a "edgelord" and looking like a Deviantart OC, so why are people switching up now?

Also from a majority of reactions I've seen, they'll say shit like "Shadow has always been my favorite character" but they don't even know his backstory and when see Black Doom, Maria or Gerald, they go "Who is this!?" (Or make an obnoxious Snapcube joke), I've even seen people ask for Silver, who is a character who was more hated than Shadow and know less about, I doubt they even know he's from the future

All this shit makes me scared that by the time both of these come out, that I'm gonna have to gatekeep the fuck out of this franchise, which is something don't wanna have to do, I just wanna live in a world where the franchise isn't a laughing stock and people actually the franchise unironically
