Remember in Season 4 when Reiner had the rifle in his mouth, ready to blow his head off because he couldn't take the guilt anymore?

And do you remember in season 3 when the scouts hit him so hard with thunderbolts while in his titan, essentially blowing part of his head off?

I think Reiner knew blowing his head off wasn't going to kill him, even with how badly he wanted to die and escape the guilt. He wanted to make sure he suffered in every imaginable way possible, physical being one of them.

Do you think An's mourning went too quick?

if we consider the amount of time between lutf and oyf (a few days), then maybe. first off, you gotta consider genre and storytelling here. vbs is very shounen-like, not that i really know anything about manga but they're basically always working towards the goal, most conflicts are resolved within the event, maybe with some things lingering afterwards but the main conflict (for lutf it was obviously the truth around nagi's death) is always mostly/completely resolved.

also in terms of event pacing, the next event had to be their arc ender (both lutf and oyf are very clearly rushed but the 2nd arc enders are an issue with like 2 other units as well so this is not a vbs exclusive problem). they didn't have the time to stretch out an's grief to more events, plus there was already the in-universe issue of taiga leaving for the US like 3 days after lutf. and yes, an did have let's study hard, but that was always going to be 1-A focused since they didn't have an event yet and needed it before there was no more 1-A.

however, there are multiple card stories and area conversations that show an grieving, and we get to see this in events like break down the wall and the ending of over rad squad to some degree. obviously less intense since time has passed, but there's still an obvious impression that she's mourning nagi. also this.

and as i said earlier, maybe. people grieve differently and for different amounts of time. people will also show it differently. a few days is a bit quick, but again you can put that down to the storytelling. in this kind of game that needs to tell its story quickly you don't have that kind of time. for the type of person an is and the age she is at, i think it was handled quite realistically. i do think it was rushed, but i don't think An would spend a very long time in a state of mourning. also lutf plays with the idea that she kind of already knew. she didn't know nagi was actually dead so she couldn't experience it fully, but there was always that slight sense of anger and denial at nagi having left without saying goodbye and never once talking to her for years. she was already grieving nagi, she just never once seriously thought about the situation.

I feel like in media it’s very typical to see characters in a high school setting and then their life magically works out and they go to their dream school or there’s a time jump and we see them fresh out of college. And those stories are important because of course it’s normal to struggle in high school (and hey that’s the target audience). But what I love about Nancy Drew, is we get to see what happens after high school and from the perspective of someone who doesn’t have things “magically workout”. We get to see a “high school burnout”; someone who had all of these hopes and dreams and plans, only for life to not turn out the way they expected. We see her struggle with grief and mental health. We see her figuring out who this person is that she has become and accepting that her identity and her worth aren’t tied to those plans she had for herself. And it’s SO refreshing to see because it’s such a real experience and struggle that people face (myself included).

Furthermore, the same can be said for the other members of the Drew Crew as well. We see characters who all are dealing with their own hardships and trauma all of which have some part that is deeply relatable. We see experiences like not living up to parents’ expectations, relationship trauma, having to take on too much responsibility from a young age, a desire to have a family, learning self-forgiveness, and figuring out what one’s purpose is (and so much more). The show starts with a group of people who started out not where they thought they would be in life and we get to see them grow and develop through their experiences with one another and figure out this crazy thing called life.

Sooooo it’s going to take 2 years to film and edit 8 episodes for season 4…………………

It took 2 years for season 3 to come out and that was disappointing for multiple reasons. I’m not a Polin girl but even I was like “who’s the main couple again???!”

Why are there sooooo many different storyline’s taking place at the same time? Yes, it’s interesting to see other people and things going on but the main focus is always supposed to come back to the main couple and this season I had to keep reminding myself that Polin were the main couple cause so many other things were going on. Like, is this not a romance show at the end of the day? Yes, it’s set in the regency period and touches on so many different topics BUT is this not a romance show at the core? I mean it’s literally adapted from a book called ‘Romancing Mister Bridgerton’ but was there really much time for romance between them with all the drama/arguing taking over.

Now Benedict…….don’t get me wrong, I liked him in season 2 but they kept recycling the same old things with him, this man is just the community bike atp. Like doesn’t this man have anything else to do besides people?

Where is artist Benedict?? What happened to wanting to make it on his own without Anthony having to buy his way into things? Having his own passions and interests?

I don't know why but so far I don't really like Isha. I was never a fan of young characters being in stories like that. Powder and Vi worked because they had their own episodes, Isha is just, kinda there. I just dislike kid characters in general when they don't fit the 'vibe' idk

My brain got caught on Star Vs this morning, and I’m thinking about Miss Heinous/Meteora, and I’m wondering, why does she look so different between her initial appearance and her new form? As in like, design wise, such as having purple hair, red eyes, and pointed ears and such

I assume the out of universe reason is that they wanted to change her design to suit their new needs. Thinking back on her initial appearance, I’m guessing they had thought of the idea of Miss Heinous being secretly part of the Mewman royal family when they made her, considering her cheek marks and the fact that they’re clubs, and the rest of the notable royals had the other card symbols, as well as the fact that she consciously tries to suppress them, but hadn’t fleshed out the idea until Season 3 or something. So they wanted to change her design now that they knew where they were going

But like, in universe, why did her appearance change? She had grey hair (though with a slight purple tint) and small black pupils before, and we see in the Season 3 flashbacks that she’s always had that. Why is it different when she gets “reborn”?
