my tags on my prev reblog re: dean's misinterpreted attitude toward monsters just got me thinking abt sam and the bloodfreak stuff in general and like, as we know a lot of the early seasons were framed in sam's pov so a lot of the time it' him who's feeling like a monster and projecting that onto others to confirm his own beliefs abt himself. like when he finds out abt john telling dean to kill him if he goes darkside sam suddenly is in agreement w/ john saying john's right and dean has to do it because dad said so !!! anyways that's just preface to what i want to say which is, sam isn't really a monster. what i mean is, he's not a monster in the inherent sense that he seems to think he is, and that's part of the reason why dean pushes back against the demon blood stuff because he knows sam can be saved and for dean his number one job is to save sam because the alternative is following john's order and that's something he just cannot do. so it makes sense that dean would do whatever it takes even if that's being a little mean or forceful (calling him a monster, echoing john by telling him not to walk out that door to give sam pause, forcing him to detox) because he does not want to kill his brother.

but anyways, sam is not a monster in the way he (and a lot of fans) thinks he's a monster. he was Not born a monster, it's not something that is intrinsically and inherently part of him. and i'd argue there's really nothing special or "chosen one"-esque about him (aside from the lucifer bloodline making him a better candidate for vessel purposes), he was just a regular baby who was dosed with demon blood, which in the text is treated as a drug / addiction. there was nothing special about any of the babies azazel dosed, they were just the children of people he'd made deals with. i think pretty much any baby (possibly even adult) who's fed demon blood from a powerful enough demon (like a Prince of Hell) would develop psychic powers. so it's not something completely out of his control that's turning him into a monster like a virus or a vampire / werewolf bite where he can't stop the progression. it's not happening to him he's making active choices to strengthen those powers and the more he feeds the more he wants it. everything w/ ruby is framed as him knowing he's doing something "wrong", the sneaking around, the lying. and i think dean's response is along the lines of "we need to get you help. we need to stop this because it's something that can be stopped. and if we stop it then i won't have to see you lose yourself or go too far. because if you go too far and start hurting people then i might have to kill you and i can't do that so please just let us save you." and i think that's fair. yes he and bobby maybe go about things the wrong way but i think it's born out of desperation. and also it's not a rejection of "this is who you are and we hate you for being a monster" it's "you're making choices that are leading you down a dangerous path and we're scared we may lose you so we're trying to stop you from going too far down that road."

like the end goal of all the bloodfreak stuff (ruby's end goal) was to free lucifer and freeing lucifer would mean sam becoming his vessel. they obviously don't know all that at the time, but in hindsight it's like, yea we should've curbed that bloodfreak stuff sooner. also heaven was telling dean to stop sam too and that he was going down a dangerous path and that if dean doesn't stop him they will (likely meaning death) so again, of course dean's gonna try to do whatever he can to stop sam even if it's by not great methods. (also heaven was playing him too bc they also wanted lucifer to be freed so that Destiny could come to pass)

I never tried the option myself bc it'd probably mean skipping the Reason You Suck speech at the end (fire for speedrunners though) but I Love that you can frame your Phoneys in 3, especially so if you've already killed the previous two. naryu being a femme fatale bisexual stereotype and playing pretty wholesale into hypersexual bisexual stereotypes is Bad:tm: bc bisexuality, esp. re: bi women (bc as you know bi men Do Not Exist in fiction), is often very highly sexualized and is often nothing more than a titillation device to bait straight men bc girl-on-girl is hot and bi women will still fuck you and directly reinforces actual real world harmful stereotypes that are still used to harm bi people right now at this moment. additionally, naryu's sexualization combined with the fact dunmer are pretty hard coded as non-white bleeds into things like her refined character design being arguably some shade of sexist with how it's designed with sex appeal in mind first rather than the actually very established theme of the morag tong, let alone the deeper racist implications considering dunmer coding.

on the other hand, as leader of the bisexual character council naryu being completely and utterly unashamed is completely and utterly hilarious and I love her girlboss energy for it

being a gbf fan and also being in a more slice-of-life series means i get the worst of whiplashes where i’m over here, on my blog, spending all day talking about how great and pitiful characters involved in various atrocities from murder, torture, apocalypse, and worse implied horrors, and then on the same day i see a notification in my activity reblogging a post from the slice of life saga, with a content warning tag for one of the characters who’s worst crime was kidnapping with no intention of harm.

this is something the novel did really well actually, but I really love how in the story there’s no framing that lwj ‘deserves’ wwx’s love as a prize or earned it through being loyal and treating him well, he literally just wanted to do it because he loves wwx and wanted to see him well and supported and happy and free to make his own choices, and wwx loved him for who he was as a person and came to trust him (and believe that lwj trusted him in turn) for the way he demonstrated he’d changed after nightless city.

lwj goes a little far in keeping the secret of lzs’s identity for so long, but the concept that lwj wanted wwx not to been indebted or trapped or forced to be with him and legitimately just wanted him to be safe and feel supported and trusted and cared about, and their romance is build on that freedom and selflessness, is just so fucking good

one of the things i’ve noticed that changes between this series and the last is the newfound emphasis on diplomacy & decorum. i do understand why, both in how the narrative changes w the introduction of new ideas and frameworks as well as how it might want to adapt to have its own voice, themes, etc. but gone are the days of yes-anding oneself into strange situations and in are those of yet another scene highlighting the importance of a letter of introduction—and that was personally a huge reason why i liked the original series so much. i don’t even mind like diplomacy as a narrative device when it’s equipped in interesting ways but when it’s constant introductions to new characters that go relatively similarly every time & a very clear narrative voice insisting that original solution wouldn’t work when it’s 1. more interesting to me personally and 2. not even working any better practically, then that starts to get super boring

• coming home from the bar you'd have to help him walk cause this boy decided shots were a good idea • " what! no this was cregan's ideeeaaa..."

• while walking home lowkey forgets your his girlfriend and gets shy. would ask if you had a boyfriend and when you say your happily taken, he's starts to pout.

yk what i keep thinking about?

pro hero izuku that has changed a shit ton since middle school, you remember his shy demeanour and his cute personality. you had a little crush on him back then and helped him from bullies when you could since izuku really couldn’t defend himself back then.

after you both graduated, you never saw him face to face, sure you’ve seen him a little on TV but never payed that much attention to him. esp since you are a doctor now that literally on duty almost everyday so there wasn’t much time to ogle at your middle school crush

then, the hospital gets raided by villains and everyone gets held hostage, luckily dynamite, red crimson and deku are here to help!

you get carried out by deku, which is there where you get a better look at him and lord of mercy.

he looks roughed up and you never knew that was a thing you had until now.

looking at him, cuts on his face, his nose slightly bleeding, a serious expression on his face, his muscles literally begging to be released from his tight hero suit, his taller frame and beat of all, his head band to keep his hair out of his face.

you couldn’t… you really couldn’t.

he sets you down and unties you, asking if you’re ok but you can barely respond because when the fuck did his voice get so fucking deep??

he goes off, fights the villains and all you and your colleagues watch those heros defeat those villains in awe because those three together were a dangerous combination for single women.

those three come back and you all thank them tremendously.

izu gives a speech about how it’s just what they do or whatever, you really couldn’t concentrate because his smile is even more angelic and his freckles are just so beautiful.

your friend tells you it’s so obvious that you’re staring at him and to stop because the media is probably making a meme out of you but you don’t care. if you take your eyes off of him, it feels like he’s going to turn into a succubus at this point.

you take your shot and ask if you could heal him, your quirk enabling you to do this.

you take him to the ambulance van, away from prying eyes as you friends cheer you on and the two other hero’s teasing him.

you make some lie about how your quirk works better with skin to skin contact, he’s ever so understanding and takes off his suit to reveals the whole of torso.

and fuck me is he BUFF

scars littered everywhere across his body, freckles are adorning his body and your salivating at the mouth.

you quickly put your hands on him, longing out the process by feeling him up everywhere and muttering some random medical shit that you know he wouldn’t get.

he’s just looking at you skeptically, but you couldn’t see him anyways as your eyes are closed.

but he just allows you to have your moment.

you just keep going while he keeps looking at you and after a fat 2 mins of this, he just says your name

your surprised he remembers you so you just look at him just for him to say sum shit like

“if you want something else to feel, that can easily be done.” while leaning back and smirking so seductively

And you’re just shocked bc when the hell did he get this confidence??? like actually??

you’re getting hella flustered

and he’s just looking at you

and your like “fuck it sure”

after like 15 mins (head cannon that izu loves his quickies) you both come out and he’s like “thanks for healing me” and your like “no problem” playing it off in front of everyone

while literally everyone else is looking at you guys shocked because it’s not like you both were quiet (izuku made sure of that)

katsuki is hell bent on proving you both fucked but izu is a scarily good liar

so they go off and all your colleagues are literally begging for details about what happened but you don’t spill a thinggg

you feel something weird in your bra however and realised that izuku literally put his business card there, that’s sly bastard.

Honestly, you thought it was a scam, something that people sell as gag gifts or well-intentioned hoaxes. But part of you hoped the pheromone perfume would work, not that your sex life with Steve had been anything except incredible since presenting together, rather out of curiosity.

With a dab to your neck, you faintly smelled something that felt reminiscent of the scent of need. Like going into a bakery and noting the aroma of pastries, unable to identify them specifically. Not precisely yours, but close.

So you grumbled over the waste of money, barely recalling it was there after a few minutes, and began cooking dinner. Steve had been working the closing shift, something Keith usually took, but it fell into your boyfriend's lap today.

The wooden door smacked against the frame as he entered, shoes coming off near the opening mat.

As it wore off on you, Steve noticed it instantly, the potent need filling his senses. Not recognizing the food you were prepping, he placed hands on your hips, pulling you close to him.

With your back against his chest, he nosed at your neck, growling so low that it sent vibrations down your spine.

“Smell so good, honey.” He manages to say, hands wandering across your midriff.

Feeling flushed, you wanted to remove your sweatshirt, but it seemed your alpha was a moment away from tearing it off.

“Thank you, Stevie, it’s your favorite pasta-“ You began, about to ask how his shift went until he grunted.

“Not what I’m talking about.” He stated, making you realize what the perfume was invoking in him as he adored your family recipe of tomato sauce.

Squeaking as he turned you around, kissing your neck feverishly, your own fingers going to his hair. He soon moved to your lips, enveloping yours with a hum, growing painfully aroused beneath his right jeans.

“Wait, Stevie-“ You laughed, his lips pulling away puffy and pink, his cheeks flushed red. You swiped the spit dripping onto his chin before grabbing the plate you had just made for him, “Need to eat first.”

“I don’t want to eat that right now,” He breathed with no malice or impatience. Setting the glassware on the counter, you grew embarrassed, making him furrow his brows.

“I bought this pheromone perfume, I thought it didn’t work.” You revealed, his interest peaking immediately as he went back to sniffing your neck, “Are you really getting-“

The answer to your inquiry came fast as he pulled your hand to the swelling beneath his jeans, a wonton gasp following.

“It doesn’t smell like you, but, shit, I need you. It’s like it’s making yours louder.” He groaned, impatient, he turned you around as your chest pressed onto the countertop.

“So needy,” You whisper, only getting a smack on the bottom, “Ow!”

“Watch it.” He scolded, though he could be further from irritated, too focused on the easiest way to remove your clothes without ripping them.

(He had ripped off your clothes twice before, fueled by the need to see you bare, which he earned complaints for. The agreement was that he could tear underwear, but he had to take you out to buy new ones afterward)

As if you could read his mind, some of his favorite words left your mouth, “You can rip them.”

Steve’s heart began racing, laughing against your neck, “Oh, you have no idea what you just did, honey.”

The replacing a spike with a second valve stuff made me come up with an idea where in the mines, they didn't want miners getting pregnant willy nilly and being unable to work (esp since sex was one of their few down time entertainment and a lot of miner builds are v fertile), so p much all get castrated. The idea being that if they become unable to work like Terminus, at least they can provide a new, extra use as broodmothers and spike sleeves for their bosses and well performing coworkers.

Megatron was terrified of ending up like that, keeping that info about him closely guarded, leading to him never losing his seals even after he's free of the mines and through the war (esp since he KNOWS it won't take much to spark him). I keep flip flopping between him losing it to his seekers, who have low fertility rates, and so end up crazy loyal bc he can easily handle a whole trine at once AND gets pregnant with the biggest litters they've ever seen

It becoming known on the LL after Megatron turns out to be a really good midwife (I saw it in a fic once that he learnt how in the mines and thats been in my brain ever since), and then some figure it out from some probing questions about the mines. Which of course leads to many crewmates staring into space for the next few weeks as they think about virgin but hyper fertile big bad megatron. Cant figure out how they persuade Megatron to open up for myself yet tho 😔

If the Lost Light crew ever found out that there’s a highly fertile warlord with two valves, both of which are still sealed, aboard their ship... oh boy, everyone enters a breeding frenzy. Everyone wants to get under Megatron’s panels and finger his pretty little valves until he’s begging for spike.

hmmm... Maybe Megatron starts considering getting pregnant after a while aboad the Lost Light. He starts to feel desired with all the optics on his frame and dirty minds thinking about his valve seals...
